PLAY BY PLAY

CM Punk sits in the ring.

Fans chant his name and Punk says, “If you don’t know by now, you should. My name is C, M, Punk. And what I am is straightedge. I’m drug free, I’m alcohol free, and that means I’m better than you. Does that sound familiar? Those words I spoke for the first time over 20 years ago, and they became the foundation for my career. And I can sit here in Nashville, Tennessee and feel pride that that foundation grew into such a career that I have managed to inspire the next generation of professional wrestling.” Some are in the back because they became wrestlers because of him. Some are straightedge like him, and some sit like he does.

And then there’s MJF. He tries to walk like Punk, to talk like Punk, but he can never think like Punk. But when MJF beat Punk in his hometown… twice… You would think that Punk would be furious. But the truth is, Max, Punk is proud of you. But where MJF strays from the path is failing to retain the knowledge he is being taught. MJF thinks he’s Piper in Portland, Bret in Calgary and Punk in Chicago, when he’s really just sh*tty little Max from shi*tty little Long Island. The foundation of MJF’s career is a diamond ring he won with the help of other people. So now the situation is this: because of last week, thanks to Jon Moxley’s assist, Punk now gets to pick the time, the place, and the match for his rematch with lil’ Max.

So to get right to it: the time is after sundown; the place is Orlando, Florida; the date is March 6th; the PPV is Revolution; which leaves Punk with a match type. He thought of his toughest matches ever. And the situation he’s in, maybe… They go in a cage. Well, Punk’s seen Wardlow, that guy can climb a cage and MJF can still run away from the lessons he needs to be taught. Piper in Portland? Well, Punk thinks back into the vault, the matches he’s had with legends. The cage matches were easy because believe it or not, he’s won more of those than he’s lost. And losing got Punk thinking. What matches has he lost?

The irony of losing a tough match is that is where you really learn. Punk says MJF needs to learn a lesson. The toughest matches, where Punk has literally left pieces of himself in the ring! Piper in Portland keeps repeating in Punk’s head. If MJF wants to be like Piper, he’ll have to be tied to Punk. Punk is poetically going to ask MJF what Piper once asked. Will you be Punk’s Valentine? He brings out a dog collar!! MJF is backstage, pissing himself, Punk is sure of that. No one wants to be in a dog collar match. They take years off your life, but that’s the lesson MJF needs to be taught! And Punk wants MJF to be here for this last part because Punk wants to see MJF’s face when he says it.

Punk waits, and here comes MJF! Punk wants MJF to take this all in. And he’ll leave us with this: the picture of young Maxwell and Punk. Max surely remembers “The greatest day of his life,” and it was just a Friday for Punk. But Sunday, March 6th, Orlando, Florida, will be the worst day of MJF’s life, and it’ll just be another Sunday to Punk. The price MJF paid to see Punk on that Friday long ago will be nothing compared to what he’ll pay on March 6th. The canvas Punk sits on won’t be stained with MJF’s sh*tty suntan, it’ll be stained with his BLOOD! Punk bites the dog collar chain as fans chant his name.

MJF’s answer? He just drops the mic! He has finally been silenced! But will Punk finally settle the score when he has MJF by the throat?

Backstage interview with Jurassic Express and Christian Cage.

AEW returns and Tony Schiavone announces that Revolution will have a TRIPLE THREAT for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. We’ll find out which teams will be going against Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus in next week’s Tag Team Battle Royale, and then the Casino Tag Team Battle Royale the week after. JB loves a good three way tag match, and loves winning battle royals. Captain Charisma laughs that off, and says over the next few weeks, there’ll be some changes in the AEW Tag Division. But after Revolution, one thing remains the same: Luchasaurus & JB as AEW World Tag Team Champions!

Bryan Danielson VS Lee Moriarty!

The American Dragon wants to forge the future of wrestling, but with Jon Moxley by his side. The Maniac has yet to give an answer, but Moriarty heard Bryan talking and wants to show him what he’s made of. Bryan has wanted nothing less, but will he get more than he bargained for out of #TYGASTYLE?

The bell rings and fans rally up already. Bryan offers a handshake, fans chant “YES! YES! YES!” but then Bryan leaves Moriarty hanging. They circle, tie up with knuckle locks, and go around. They trade facelocks, Moriarty waistlocks, but Bryan wrenches through to a double wristlock takedown. Moriarty fights up but Bryan puts him on ropes. The ref counts, fans sing for Moriarty, but Bryan SLAPS Moriarty! Bryan backs off and fans boo but Moriarty just checks his chin. Moriarty and Bryan circle, knuckle lock again, and Moriarty shoots in to trip Bryan for a toehold! Bryan endures, fights through to waistlock and get a leg.

Bryan drops a knee on the knee, has a toehold of his own, then stands on both legs. Bryan gets the arms, fans rally up and Bryan pulls the arms. Up, up and ROMERO SPECIAL! Moriarty endures the surfboard, Bryan brings him back into a dragon sleeper variation! But Moriarty claws Bryan’s face and gets the chicken wing! Bryan scrambles for the ropes to deny the rest of the hold, Moriarty lets up but Bryan puts him on ropes again. Another SLAP! Bryan kicks low, whips, but Moriarty rolls off the back, sweeps the legs and PENALTY KICKS the arm! Moriarty fires up and so do the fans Moriarty drags Bryan up and gets a straitjacket stretch,

Bryan powers through, puts the straitjacket on Moriarty, but Moriarty puts Bryan in a corner. Bryan lets go, Moriarty fires off EuroUppers! Moriarty whips corner to corner, Bryan goes up and over and things keep moving. Moriarty EuroUppers Bryan outta the ring! Then he slingshots, but lands on the apron. Bryan catches him coming back in, hooks him in the ropes and fires off YES KICKS! Though fans are torn, “YES!” “NO!” Bryan lets off as the ref counts, and then drags Moriarty along the rope for a DRAPING KNEE STRIKE! Bryan soaks up the cheers and jeers while AEW goes picture in picture.

Bryan taunts Moriarty, he drags Moriarty up by a knuckle lock, but Moriarty wrenches through! But Bryan claws Moriarty’s face to stop the elbow breaker! Bryan CLUBS Moriarty in the face, then bumps him off buckles. Bryan gives Moriarty more YES KICKS! The ref reprimands and counts, but Bryan just KCICKS again. Moriarty turns things around to fire off EuroUpper after EuroUpper, only for Bryan to DECK him with a EuroUpper in return! Bryan taunts Moriarty a bit more, paces around him, and then drags Moriarty up. Bryan HEADBUTTS Moriarty and Moriarty staggers to ropes.

Bryan taunts the fans, then brings Moriarty up to whip to ropes. Bryan CLOBBERS Moriarty, then soaks up the cheers and jeers again. Moriarty sputters but Bryan sits him up for a neck wrench. Moriarty endures as Bryan focuses on a chinbar. Bryan stands Moriarty up, but Moriarty throws body shots in return! Bryan HEADBUTTS him down! Bryan gets Moriarty up for a SNAP HALF HATCH! AEW returns to single picture, Bryan knuckle lock covers. TWO as Moriarty gets one arm up! Bryan tries again, TWO as Moriarty gets the other arm up. Bryan tries again, TWO as Moriarty bridges up!

Bryan puts his weight on Moriarty and brings him down! TWO as Moriarty bridges up! Bryan knees him down, TWO as Moriarty manages to get up again! Bryan tires a full body cover, TWO! Moriarty hooks Bryan’s legs with his legs! They both bridges, and then start throwing jabs! They topple over, Bryan gets on top to rain down fists! But Moriarty turns it around to do the same! But Bryan shifts, omoplata and LEBELLE LOCK! Moriarty scrambles, ROPEBREAK with a foot! The fans are thunderous as Bryan lets off at 4! “This is Awesome!” and still not over yet! Bryan kicks Moriarty at the ropes then eggs him on.

Bryan whips Moriarty, Moriarty reverses, SAIDO! Bryan tumbles to a corner and Moriarty fires up! Fans are fired up with Moriarty and he fires forearms! Bryan EuroUppers then eggs Moriarty on! Moriarty forearms back, so Bryan gives him another EuroUpper! Moriarty throws another forearm, Bryan EuroUppers again! And again! And again, but into a backslide! TWO!! Bryan hurries up, he backslides but Moriarty flips through, into a SLAP! Moriarty has had it with those! Moriarty SLAPS and ROCKS and forearms and elbows Bryan over and over! Bryan dodges, ROLLING ELBOW! Moriarty drops to his knees, but he blocks the buzzsaw!

Moriarty flips Bryan around, LARIAT, but Bryan catches it! But Moriarty turns that into his BELLY2BELLY! Cover, TWO!! Moriarty hurries to back mount, and he throws down palm strikes to Bryan’s back! This is the violence Bryan wanted! BORDER CITY STRETCH!! Bryan crawls, endures, reaches, fans duel but Bryan pops and rolls, TWO! Moriarty holds on but Bryan makes it a SNAP SHOULDER CAPTURE SUPLEX! Bryan grins, enjoying the violence! Moriarty gets up, BUSAIKU KNEE!! Bryan isn’t done, though! “It’s time to kick his head off!” Bryan gets the wrists, holds Moriarty up, DANIELSON STOMPS!

Bryan drags Moriarty into a TRIANGLE SLEEPER! No hands as Bryan flexes, Moriarty is OUT! Bryan wins!

Winner: Bryan Danielson, by submission

The American Dragon slays #TYGASTYLE, but then he gets a mic to speak. “Ladies and gentlemen, I came out here to teach Lee Moriarty a thing or two about violence. And I wanna know. Did he pass? Or did he fail?” Fans are torn, so Bryan says, “And that’s why I don’t trust the American public with anything.” But that’s not even why he’s got the mic. Bryan asked Jon Moxley to team up with him to create a whole new AEW! To teach the young wrestlers about violence! And Jon Moxley, Bryan wants his answer! Bryan waits, and here comes Mox! He enters from the crowd as always, and fans sing Wild Thing for him.

Moxley finally gets to ringside and enters the ring to join Bryan. But what’s his answer? Bryan hands the mic over and Moxley says, “Little over a decade ago, I was a lot like that Lee Moriarty kid. I was a lot like a lot of the kids in the AEW locker room. I was young, I was angry, I was poor, I had nothing to lose, and I took a shot at taking down the great American Dragon, Bryan Danielson.” It was an indie show in Ohio, Bryan was late, his flight was delayed because of weather, so they sent Tracy Smothers out to vamp with the fans for like 45 minutes. Finally, Mox goes to the ring, Bryan pulls up in his gear, goes through the kitchen to the ring and that’s the first time they met.

Mox met the best wrestler in the world. Mox gave everything he had, balls out, tooth ‘n’ nail, but came up short. But he got a taste of the best made Moxley meaner, angrier and want it more! Over the years, Mox had more shots at Bryan. And every single time, Mox came up short. In fact, Mox has never beaten Bryan Danielson. That’s true! So when Bryan showed up in AEW, everyone else was intimidated, but Moxley was excited to finally put the one head up on his wall he never had, to slay the one dragon he hadn’t yet. No puns intended, American Dragon. But as it turns out, Bryan Danielson doesn’t wanna fight Mox, he wants to join forces with him.

Moxley was listening to everything Bryan said that night. And honestly, he thought of how awesome that could be. All the arms they could snap, all the skulls they could cave in. They’d be a dream team dynasty of pure wrestling violence! Then Mox thought, not just about the destruction, but what they could create. The young guys they could bring along with them. They could give something back to the business and AEW, the legacy they could leave! And not to lie, Moxley couldn’t think of one good reason to say no to that. But then Moxley thought, is the only reason Bryan wants to be side by side with Moxley because he doesn’t want to find himself across the ring from Moxley?

Does Bryan know that Moxley will do to him what he’s done to everyone else put in front of him these last three years? If that’s the case, then Moxley’s already beaten Bryan Danielson. So does Bryan wanna genuinely be Moxley’s partner so that they can create? Or is it because he doesn’t want to be destroyed. So then Bryan, Moxley isn’t saying yes, but he’s not saying no. This is up to Bryan. Moxley isn’t that young kid anymore. And for all intents and purposes, this is their first meeting in AEW, Moxley doesn’t stand side by side with nobody until he bleeds with ’em first! Is that a match challenge? And will Bryan take Moxley up on it?

Keith Lee speaks.

“It was only a matter of time. The anticipation was essentially tangible. The Limitless One has arrived in AEW. And with the arrival comes the qualification for the Face of the Revolution ladder match. And it’s so fitting, as the first person to qualify, this is the one instance where you don’t save the best for last. It is the first and best and the new Face of the Revolution. It is yours truly, the Limitless One, Keith Lee. And when I tell you I’m coming here to make a statement, phase one is done. The ladder match is phase two, and when I’m done with that, the TNT Championship shall be mine.”

Face of the Revolution Ladder Match Qualifier: Wardlow w/ Shawn Spears VS Max Caster w/ Anthony Bowens!

We already know there is a Limitless One in the match, the The Pinnacle’s Maestro of Mayhem looks to break through to join him. But of course, Platinum Max has a diss rap on deck! “If Wardlow thinks he can beat me, he’s crazy. Acclaimed beats down brothers more than Da Baby. Look at him, I’m not trippin’. He’s overrated like Nashville Hot Chicken. I’m not the guy to be fightin’, I knock you out the first round like tha Titans. And we all know the sitch, boy. You not a man, just MJF’s bitch boy!” NASHVIIIILLE~! The Acclaimed have arrived! Will Max make the ladder match critically acclaimed? Or will Wardlow drop Caster harder than the beat?

The bell rings and Wardlow circles with Caster. They feel out the grapple but Caster backs off. They tie up, Wardlow fakes Caster but Caster gets away before the bomb. They tie up again, Caster gets around and clubs Wardlow, but it does nothing! Wardlow lunges but Caster slips away, and Bowens swipes Wardlow’s foot! The ref reprimands, Caster BOOTS Wardlow! Caster fires forearms in the corner, Wardlow shoves Caster away and dodges as AEW goes picture in picture.

Caster bounces off buckles, into Wardlow’s OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Caster ends up in the opposite corner! He bails out before Wardlow can get him, but Wardlow goes out to pursue. And CLOBBER Caster with a clothesline! Fans rally, Spears cheers Wardlow on, and Wardlow brings Caster up to bump him off the apron. Wardlow glares at Bowens, Caster gets around the corner but Wardlow pursues. Wardlow puts Caster in, but Caster bails out the opposite side. Wardlow is annoyed as The Acclaimed regroup. Wardlow goes out, runs in but is sent into the steps! Bowens mocks Wardlow’s pain, but Wardlow still almost gets him!

Caster stomps Wardlow, SMACKS him off the steps, and then he brings Wardlow up. Wardlow throws a body shot but Caster ROCKS Wardlow, then APRON BACK SUPLEXES! Caster pushes Wardlow in, covers, ONE! Caster keeps on Wardlow with haymakers but Wardlow throws them back! They go back and forth, Wardlow gets the edge, but Cater hits back! Caster uppercuts then fires up, but Wardlow gives him a SPINEBUSTER! Wardlow rolls Caster, reels him in, but Bowens drags Caster out to  make the save! Bowens gets on the apron and eggs Wardlow on. And in a bit of Pinnacle copy-paste, Bowens drops his chain to Caster!

Wardlow runs Bowens off, goes after Caster and throws him in the ring. Wardlow calls his shot as AEW returns to single picture. Fans fire up, Spears tries to point out what The Acclaimed did, but that only distracts the ref when Caster PLATINUM PUNCHES Wardlow! Caster hurries up top, MIC DROP ELBOW! Cover, TWO!! Wardlow survives and The Acclaimed can’t believe it! Caster reels Wardlow in, puts one out, but Wardlow is too big to lift! Wardlow back drops out! Bowens tries to help Caster again, but Wardlow BOOTS Caster into Bowens! Wardlow then reels Caster in, POWERBOMB!

Fans are thunderous for “One More Time! One More Time!” Wardlow gets Caster up, POWERBOMB! And then again, POWERBOMB! One foot cover, Wardlow wins!

Winner: Wardlow, by pinfall (advances to the Face of the Revolution)

But then Bowens attacks! Bowens stomps Wardlow down, but Spears doesn’t see it happening! Wardlow gets up, choke grips and reels Bowens in, POWERBOMB!! And now Spears throws his chair around on The Acclaimed. What good is he as an accountabilibuddy? But at least Wardlow is in the ladder match. Will he win it and then the title, to unfortunately hand it over to MJF?

Backstage interview with Mercedes Martinez and Britt Baker.

Jamie Hayter and Rebel are of course with The Doctor as Tony Schiavone says the No Disqualification match is still to come. Mercedes says No DQ, no rules, no excuses. And Britt adds no losing. Remember: Britt brought Mercedes here, so she needs to finish Thunder Rosa. Then it is undeniable: Britt Baker, DMD, is the most powerful woman in all of pro-wrestling with the best squad, and the best sensei. In steps Cobra Kai’s Martin Kove, aka Sensei Kreese! Mercedes says she knows her job. It’s time to murder a b*tch. Britt asks Kove what to do if Mercedes loses. He says she knows what to do. “Finish her. No mercy.”

Rampage is gonna be a SLAM DUNK!

Because NBA All Star Weekend is this weekend, Rampage is going to be THREE HOURS EARLIER! Instead of 10 PM Eastern, it’ll be 7 PM!

AEW returns and Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

Schiavone introduces the AEW World Champion, HANGMAN ADAM PAGE! The Millennial Cowboy survived the Texas Deathmatch against Lance Archer and still has #PrettyPlatinum on his arm, and Nashville is ready for some #CowboyShit! Schiavone says this man doesn’t back down from a fight, and you can see the scars on his eyebrow. How is he doing, though, after that violent match? Hangman says he’s surprised, but then Adam Cole interrupts. “First of all, Nashville, if you could do me a favor, and please give a very warm round of applause for our AEW World Champion.” Hangman’s been in some battles!

There were the two matches with Bryan Danielson, then the war to win the title off Kenny Omega. Speaking of, that was a war with Lance Archer last week. One of the craziest Cole has ever seen, against one of the biggest and baddest AEW has to offer. And Hangman still has the title. Schiavone, get the hell outta the ring. Cole is alone with Hangman now as Cole says Hangman earned the right to call himself AEW World Champion. But Cole’s been a world champion everywhere he’s gone. But right now, Hangman is champion, but that reign will have to end pretty soon.

Hangman says he often wondered how it must’ve felt for Cole to leave, then watch from a distance as his friends built a wrestling empire without him. And Hangman also wonders that now it must feel weird being in the ring with his Bullet Club buddy, his ROH roommate, and seeing he’s the AEW World Champion, knowing that this is the one world title Cole will never hold. Cole says that’s funny, Hangman bringing up friendship. Let’s talk about that. Like Nick & Matt Jackson, the Young Bucks. They haven’t said Hangman’s name in weeks! Or what about the Dark Order? That’s supposed to be Hangman’s crew, but he hasn’t associated with them for months.

So truth be told, what kind of friend is Hangman? Hangman says he’s not perfect. Really, when he thinks about it, Cole doesn’t have the best record with friendship, either. So Hangman has regrets, has made mistakes, but the more Cole talks, the more Hangman thinks Cole getting in this ring with him was Cole’s biggest mistake. Cole wants Hangman to cool off. He’s just being frank because they’ve known each other for over a decade. And Hangman has become “an unbelievable professional wrestler, and an unbelievable world champion.

“But now, Hangman, I’m here in AEW. And truth be told, now that I’m here in AEW, where any time we’ve been in the same promotion together, you’ve always been known as the other Adam. Hangman puts the belt down, and the mic, and rolls up his sleeves. Cole wants Hangman to wait and listen. Cole means this from the bottom of his heart, he has nothing but love, respect and admiration for Hangman. If he could share the ring with anyone here, it’d be Hangman. So trust Cole when he says that some day, they will fight for the AEW World Championship. And it’ll be 1v1, man to man, Page VS Cole.

“And when that day does come, filled with respect, may the best man win.” Cole holds out a handshake, and Hangman takes it. Cole leaves, but will all of that love, respect and admiration turn into arrogance and violence? Wait, reDRagon attacks Hangman from behind!! Cole’s other friends are beating up Hangman! Cole rushes back in, and he joins in! That sure didn’t take long! But security rushes out, only to be pushed aside by Cole, Fish and O’Reilly! So here comes THE DARK ORDER! They outnumber Cole & reDRagon so they take off. The Dark Order’s Preston Vance takes his anger out on the security guards!

The rest of the Dark Order has to subdue Vance before he completely wipes them all out! But then he TOSSES the last guy out on to the rest! Is that Number 10 saying he will be the one to humble Adam Cole?

AEW hears from tonight’s main eventers.

Darby Allin says, “Everybody says that Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin both have a death wish. We don’t know why we do what we do, but I think it comes from something that’s missing in our lives. We try to fill this void. The only time that void wasn’t there was when I was TNT Champion.” Going out there and wrestling is therapy for Darby, so surely it is for Sammy. The Spanish God says, “Go back and look at any Darby Allin VS Sammy Guevara match, go back to our time on the indies, go back to AEW, it doesn’t matter, it’s all irrelevant. I beat him, he beat me, none of that matters now.”

They’ve both been TNT Champion. Darby was a great champion, but he’s not going to be better than Sammy. Darby says tonight means the most. He needs this. Who walks out of Nashville the strongest, most relentless TNT Champion in AEW?

Chris Jericho & Jake Hager VS Santana & Ortiz!

Speaking of Sammy, he put the rest of the Inner Circle on notice. If this issue can’t be resolved, then there shouldn’t be an Inner Circle. Will Le Champion and Rock Hard Hager make Santana & Ortiz fall in line? Or will Proud ‘n’ Powerful fight out of Jericho’s shadow to go for the gold?

The teams stare down, but then here comes Eddie Kingston! The Mad King is not someone Jericho wants to see, but the fans are happy to have him back! He fist bumps with Santana & Ortiz, he’s in their corner! Santana and Jericho start with the bell, and Jericho talks a little trash. Jericho pie faces Santana, Santana SLAPS Jericho! The brawl is on! Jericho ROCKS, CHOPS, CHOPS and CHOPS Santana, then whips. But Santana dodges to LARIAT! Jericho goes to a corner, Santana hits a FLYING FOREARM! Santana gets in Jericho’s face, the ref counts and Santana whips Jericho corner to corner.

Jericho BOOTS back, but Santana fires up! Santana fires forearms, CHOPS Jericho in the corner, and lets Jericho stew in that. Then he CHOPS again! Santana snapmares, hops up, and jumps for a missile dropkick! Cover, ONE! Santana gets Jericho up, tags Ortiz, and they double whip for an atomic drop, body shot, and DDT! Then they set up, step stoop MOONSAULT! Ortiz stares Hager down, then covers Jericho, TWO! Ortiz drags Jericho up to fisherman suplex! Bridging cover, TWO! Ortiz keeps on Jericho with forearms, then runs, but into a FLAPJACK! Cover, ONE! Jericho tags Hager, they get Ortiz up to double whip.

Jericho and Hager double shoulder Ortiz down! Hager pushes Ortiz around, “We’re family! WHY!?” Ortiz throws forearms but Hager DECKS him! Ortiz gets up, throws more, but Hager DECKS him again! Ortiz pops right back up, blocks Hager’s kick and elbows the leg! Ortiz dropkicks the leg, then fires more forearms! Ortiz runs, into an OVERHEAD Belly2Belly! Hager goes to the corner, HAGER BOMB! Cover, TWO! Hager looms over Ortiz as AEW goes picture in picture.

Hager puts Ortiz in the corner for heavy hands, then digs a knee in. Hager bumps Ortiz off buckles, tags in Jericho, and Jericho drags Ortiz up. Ortiz fires haymakers on Jericho! Ortiz runs, into a dropkick! Jericho gloats, then drags Ortiz up to back suplex! Jericho drags Ortiz up to whip him hard into the corner. Tag to Hager, they mug Ortiz, then Hager digs his knee in again. The ref counts,. Hager lets off at 4, but Jericho gets a cheap shot in. Hager throws hands, Ortiz hits back! Ortiz fights with more haymakers, but Hager shoves him back to SPLASH! Hager tags Jericho, they mug Ortiz more, and Jericho brings Ortiz to an open corner.

Jericho whips corner to corner to clothesline! Jericho throws more point blank clotheslines, over and over, and over and over! Jericho lets off, but Ortiz CHOPS him! Ortiz CHOPS again but then collapses. Ortiz gets up in a huff but Jericho BOOTS him down! Jericho drags Ortiz up, puts him on ropes and chokes him! The ref reprimands and counts, Jericho lets off and Kingston is there to coach Ortiz up. Jericho stands Ortiz up to DECK him with a right. Jericho brings Ortiz back up, AEW returns to single picture, and Ortiz fights off the suplex with body shots. Jericho knees low and snap suplexes!

Jericho catches his breath, stalks Ortiz as he crawls, and then drags him away from Santana. Jericho slaps Ortiz around, fans boo, and Jericho whips only for Ortiz to roll and come back with a LARIAT! Fans are thunderous as they rally up! Hot tags to Hager and Santana! Santana dodges Hager, BOOTS Jericho, then fires off on Hager! Santana CHOPS and CHOPS, whips but Hager reverses. Santana stops to CLUB, KICK and basement dropkick! Fans fire up with Santana but Jericho gets in to CODE BREAKER! Hager hits a POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO!! Santana survives and Kingston coaches him up.

Hager puts Santana in the corner, tags Jericho, and they mug Santana. They double whip him to an open corner, Hager whips Jericho for Jericho to whip Hager in, but Santana tosses Hager! Santana then waistlocks Jericho, Jericho back elbows so Santana LCUBS Jericho! Santana KICKS, runs, but Jericho kicks back! Jericho runs, to BULLDOG! Fans fire up as Jericho catches his breath. LION- NO! Ortiz stops the springboard, Santana hits a DRAPING RUSSIN LEG SWEEP! Ortiz CANNONBALLS Hager while Santana covers Jericho, TWO!! Jericho survives but Santana tags Ortiz back in.

PNP coordinate. they get Jericho up and Santana climbs. STREET SWEEPER!! Cover, TWO?!?! Jericho survives by mere nanoseconds, but Kingston says to just keep going! “This is Awesome!” PNP reset, tag to Santana and Ortiz fires off on Jericho. They set up, step-stool CANNONBALL caught for THE WALLS OF JERICHO!! Santana endures, reaches out, Kingston pushes the rope closer! Santana crawls, reaches out, ROPEBREAK!! Jericho lets go, Kingston is on the apron as he coaches Santana, Jericho TRIANGLE JUMP DROPKICKS him down! Jericho runs at Santana, but Santana ducks Judas Effect!

Ortiz SMACKS Jericho at the ropes! DISCUS LARIAT from Santana! Cover, PROUD ‘N’ POWERFUL WIN!!

Winners: Santana & Ortiz, by pinfall

Jericho gets up in a huff and storms after Kingston! They brawl at the ramp! The refs hurry to stop this before it gets going, but fans want to “Let Them Fight!” PNP leave with Kingston, have they just broken the Inner Circle?

Brandon Cutler’s camera is live backstage.

The Young Bucks, reDRagon and Adam Cole are gathered and Kyle says they just beat the hell outta Hangman. But where were the Bucks during all that? Matt says beating up Hangman is beating a dead horse. Anyone but him, honestly. Nick agrees, but Kyle doesn’t get that saying. Cole says for everyone to let it go. The next few weeks are a HUGE few weeks for The Elite. In two night’s time, Cole woops Preston Vance’s ass all over the ring. Then Jay White beats the hell outta Trent Beretta! And next week on Dynamite, one of two Tag Team Battle Royals happens to crown one of two contenders to the AEW World Tag Team Championships, for a Triple Threat match at Revolution.

And boys, next week is a good time for the Bucks to pick up a W. Oh, well, uh, maybe reDRagon wins the first one, and then the Bucks have a chance to win the second one. Oh, how funny. Kyle, where’ve you been again? Matt hasn’t seen Kyle in weeks. Uh, he was nominated for father of the year for having a first baby. Fish congratulates Kyle but Matt sarcastically says, “Oh, wow, so cool.” Matt has two kids, Nick has three. Guys, guys, c’mon! You all have beautiful kids! This group, this faction, it is also beautiful. They cannot be stopped, they have to get on the same page. Right, then the Bucks will see reDRagon in the battle royal.

Cole’s friends leave in different directions, Cutler asks him which way he’s gonna go. Shut up, Brandon, turn the camera off! With no one watching, which way does Cole go?

No Disqualifications: Mercedes Martinez VS Thunder Rosa!

Britt Baker brought in the mercenary known as Mean Ms. Mercedes, but her pipe attack wasn’t enough. Will Mercedes finish the job and crush La Mera Mera? Or will Rosa rip through Mercedes to get at the AEW Women’s World Champion?

Mercedes is so ready, she doesn’t even get in the ring. She has her pipe, and waits on Rosa right at the ramp. Rosa comes out in a Kill Bill The Bride aka Beatrix Kiddo, and she’s bringing a chair! The two lock eyes, ready their weapons, and CLASH! Mercedes drops the pipe, Rosa SMACKS and SMACKS Mercedes down! Rosa puts Mercedes in, the bell rings, and Mercedes punches back! Mercedes CHOPS Rosa, Rosa hits back. Rosa CHOPS, throws forearms, and Mercedes bails out. Rosa pursues, throws more forearms, then POSTS her! Mercedes drops, Rosa hurries to bring out a TABLE!

Fans fire up as Rosa sets up the table, but Mercedes ROCKS her first! Mercedes whips Rosa into the steel steps! Mercedes brings out a few chairs and puts them in the ring. Mercedes then whips Rosa, but Rosa reverses and Mercedes crashes through barriers! Rosa fires up, throws off the jacket, and kicks Mercedes around. The ref is taking liberties with the ring count as Rosa sits Mercedes down to stomp away! Rosa then brings Mercedes around and RAMS her into guard rail! Rosa climbs up the railing and fans get to be part of the action as she balances off them and CROSSBODIES Mercedes!

Rosa fires up, throws stuff around and AEW goes picture in picture. Rosa elbows Mercedes, drags her up and ROCKS her with a forearm. Rosa SMACKS Mercedes with some trash, but Mercedes hits back with uppercuts! Snap suplex onto the downed railing! Rosa writhes but Mercedes drags her up and back to ringside. Mercedes throws Rosa in, then goes looking under the ring. Mercedes brings out a trash can and puts that in the ring. Then she puts in the trash can lid, and gets in to drag Rosa up. Mercedes DECKS Rosa with a right, then SMACKS her with a chair! Mercedes steps over Rosa to then bring in more chairs!

Mercedes gets in, stomps Rosa, then drags her up to scoop. Rosa slips off, kicks low and hits a STUNNER! Cover, TWO!! Rosa ain’t Stone Cold but she goes outside to fetch that table. Rosa finishes setting it up, but then the leg malfunctions! Rosa says screw it, and gets the table propped up against the ring. Mercedes crawls out, Rosa is after her on the apron. Rosa CLUBS Mercedes, fireman’s carries, but Mercedes clubs free. Mercedes throws body shots and uppercuts, then reels Rosa in. AEW returns to single picture as Mercedes FISHERMAN BUSTERS through the table! The table breaks just enough for the two to slide down to the floor!

Fans lose their minds, Rosa and Mercedes writhe in agony, but somehow they’re both okay to continue. Mercedes is up first and she gets her pipe back! Mercedes puts that in the ring, gets one of the chairs, and she SMACKS Rosa! And JAMS her! Mercedes throws the chair away, puts Rosa in the ring, and then clears some space. Mercedes hoists Rosa up top, throws hands, then climbs up after Rosa. Mercedes fireman’s carries but Rosa fights free and SUPER STEINERS Mercedes away! Rosa then gets the trash can, to CHUCK it at Mercedes! And then Rosa puts the can on Mercedes, to run and BASEMENT DROPKICK! Cover, ROPEBREAK!!

Mercedes saves herself but Rosa drags her to a drop zone. Rosa goes up, but Mercedes SMACKS her with the trash can lid! And again! Rosa wobbles, turns around up top, and Mercedes climbs up behind her. Mercedes CLUBS Rosa, then SPIDER GERMAN SUPLEXES! Mercedes gets back up the corner, aims and ELBOW DROPS! Cover, TWO!! Rosa survives and Mercedes can’t believe it! Mercedes hurries to create a chair pile at center, then she reels Rosa in. Rosa blocks the powerbomb, Mercedes CLUBS away on her, but Rosa still fights free! Rosa slips around, CRUCIFIX DRIVER!

But Rosa drags Mercedes back up, reels her back in, FIRE THUNDER DRIVER on the chairs!! Cover, Rosa wins!!

Winner: Thunder Rosa, by pinfall

There was no mercy in this dojo! Rosa wins, getting the better of Britt’s mercenary again, but Rosa still isn’t done? She drags Mercedes up, to show her respect?! Fans cheer that, and Mercedes seems rather surprised. But here comes Britt and her girls. They storm right to the ring but Rosa stands her ground. Britt asks Kove again, “Now what?” “Finish her.” Britt signals to Hayter and Rebel, and they BLINDSIDE Rosa! They stomp away, then Britt gets in, wielding the pipe! Rebel drags Rosa over, Hayter stomps her more, and Britt looks to Mercedes. Britt holds out the pipe, and Mercedes takes it.

Mercedes looms over Rosa, but then looks at Britt. The hesitation is too much, Hayter CLOBBERS Mercedes! Hayter mugs Mercedes, Britt punches away on Rosa! Britt holds up the belt, and says, “D M D.” Will The Doctor still be golden, no matter who she has to take out?

AEW hears from The House of Black.

Malakai Black says, “Wicked hands suffer the unholy fires. Because violence begets violence. That’s why when they put their hands on me, the snakes coil around their arms and daggers pierce their skin. And that’s how they brought forth a stray king. All by design, because violence craves their destruction. And when that fire of destruction extinguishes, there is nothing left but ash. And from ashes, new forms grow. But no violence can truly create without judgement.” As Malakai deals the tarot cards, Brody King asks who they are waiting for. “History.” A knock comes at the door, but who walks in? Perhaps we’ll see, as next week will be a rematch of the House of Black VS Death Triangle!

AEW hears from Jay White!

“Everybody is talking about Switchblade, Jay White. Without me beating Kenny Omega for the IWGP United States Championship, maybe Kenny would’ve stayed in NJPW. And if Kenny had stayed, there would be no AEW. So AEW, you’re welcome. I’m the leader of Bullet Club. I am the catalyst. I am the man that in two night’s time on Rampage against Trent, I’ll show all of AEW how to breathe with the Switchblade. Because it’s still my era.”

AEW TNT Championship: Sammy Guevara VS Darby Allin!

Two of the Four Pillars. Two great TNT Champions in their own right. But only the Spanish God is the UNDISPUTED TNT Champion after dethroning the American Nightmare. Will Sammy still be golden in Nashville? Or will the Relentless One be bringing those belts home with him?

The introductions are made, both TNT belts are raised, and we see who is the one man who gets to have them both!

The two stare down as the bell rings and the fans rally up. More fans chant for Darby but Sammy shrugs that off. Darby and Sammy slowly circle, Darby offers a handshake and Sammy takes it. Fans cheer the sportsmanship, and the two tie up. Sammy shoves Darby, eggs him on, they tie up again. They break again, circle, tie up again, and go around. They end up in a corner, go along ropes more, but the ref counts. Sammy lets off, but then Darby headlocks! Sammy powers up but Darby holds on tight. Darby gets the takeover, Sammy moves around to make it a cover, ONE. Darby holds on, Sammy fights up to his feet.

Sammy pries free and hammerlocks but Darby switches that onto Sammy. Sammy tries to switch it back but Darby spins through to keep the hammerlock. Darby then flying-mares, sweeps the legs, covers, ONE as Sammy goes Matrix! But Darby gets him for a quick crucifix takedown, TWO! Darby has the headlock back and fans cheer the technical exchange. Sammy powers up to power out, then hurdles and flips, but Darby SHOTGUN dropkicks first! Darby runs in at the corner, but Sammy blocks monkey flip to put Darby up top. Sammy joins Darby, Darby fights him off, so Sammy TIGER WALL KICKS!

Sammy goes up fast, brings Darby up, but Darby fights the clinch! Darby elbows Sammy back down, but Sammy fireman’s carries! GUTBUSTER DROP on the buckle! Darby tumbles to the floor and fans lose their minds! Sammy goes out, drags Darby up and puts him in. Sammy covers, TWO! Sammy drags Darby up, hangs him out to dry on the ropes, then CLUBS him. Sammy goes to the corner, goes right up top, and GUILLOTINE SWANTONS!! Darby tumbles back to the floor and fans are thunderous as AEW goes picture in picture!

Sammy and Darby are both down, that move taking a lot out of them both. Darby stirs but Sammy goes out to fetch him. Sammy CLUBS Darby then whips him hard into railing. Sammy gets Darby back in the ring, brings him up and through the corner, to stand on Darby! Darby is bent against the second rope crossbar, but Sammy lets off as the ref counts. Darby sputters as he flops to the mat, but Sammy drags him up again. Sammy puts Darby up against the corner, and CHOPS him! Sammy stands Darby back up, to CHOP him again! And then CLOBBER him from behind! Cover, TWO! Sammy seethes but he keeps focus.

Sammy drags Darby up, scoops him and SLAMS him, then goes to the corner. Sammy climbs up, says a quick prayer, then MOONSAULTS! Darby moves, Sammy lands on his feet and staggers back. Sammy shakes out the leg and hobbles after Darby, but Darby blocks the whip by holding ropes. Sammy ROCKS Darby, CHOPS him, then whips Darby corner to corner hard! Darby slumps down in the corner, but Sammy drags him up. Sammy whips Darby corner to corner again, and Darby again slumps down. Sammy drags Darby up as AEW returns to single picture, for another whip, but Darby reverses! Sammy hits buckles face first! COFFIN SPLASH!

Darby keeps moving, another COFFIN SPLASH! Then a CHOP BLOCK to the leg! Standing COFFIN SPLASH to the leg! Fans rally up, Darby gets the leg and YANKS it back! Sammy writhes and clutches his leg, then drags himself to a corner. Darby storms over, hoists Sammy up top and CLUBS him on the back. Darby drags Sammy into a Tree of Woe, to then BEND the bad leg way, way back! The ref counts, Darby lets off at 4, but Sammy’s still stuck in the Tree! Darby goes up and pulls the leg in a HANGING HALF CRAB! Sammy sits up to ROCK Darby with a headbutt! Sammy gets Darby up, SPANISH FLY!!

But Sammy’s leg keeps him from making the cover! Sammy writhes, fans lose their minds, and Sammy manages the cover, TWO!! Darby survives because of the damage to Sammy’s leg! Fans rally and duel between these two, but Sammy says he knows what to do. Sammy drags Darby up, turns him around, dragon sleeper! But Darby knees free and swings. Sammy dodges, springboards, but Darby catches the legs! Step through, FIGURE FOUR! Sammy’s not the only one who can reference the American Nightmare! Sammy endures, works to turn this, and does! But Darby turns it back over! Sammy endures again!

Sammy flips Darby off, cusses him out, and SLAPS Darby on the face! Darby SLAPS back, it’s a SLAP fight in the leg lock! They ROCK each other and the hold comes apart! Fans applaud that great exchange as both men go to opposite corners. Sammy runs in, Darby dodges and the knee hits buckles! Darby hops on, THROWBACK- NO! Sammy denies the stunner, torture rack, but Darby blocks the knee! Step through, LAST SUPPER!! TWO!! Sammy escapes, Darby shoots in, THROWBACK STUNNER! Sammy flounders all the way out of the ring! But Darby just builds speed to DIVE!! Into a CUTTER?!?

Fans lose their minds as Sammy got that one outta nowhere! Fans are loving “A E DUB!” for this one as Sammy puts Darby back in. Sammy says he’s crazy, and fans hope these two “Fight Forever!” But it has to end somehow, and Sammy goes up top again. APRON SWANTON only gets apron!! Darby got outta the way and Sammy hit just the edge! His arm is twitching while he clutches his ribs! The ring count is climbing but Darby has to win this with pin or submission. Darby gets Sammy up, puts him in at 5 of 10, and hurries to drag Sammy to a drop zone. Darby goes up the corner now, keeping an eye on Sammy.

Darby reaches the top, fans are thunderous, but Jose, assistant to Andrade El Idolo, appears on the apron! But Sting appears to trip Jose up! Sting tosses Jose into railing! And then over them! But Andrade is here to TRIP Darby, and CLOBBER him with the contract! El Idolo just made Darby pay for not accepting his job offer! Darby is stuck up top, Sammy finally comes to and has no idea what just happened. Sammy shrugs and drags Darby into a torture rack. Even on one leg, GO TO HOSPITAL!! Cover, Sammy wins!

Winner: Sammy Guevara, by pinfall (still AEW TNT Champion)

Matt Hardy hurries out to get his pound of flesh from Darby! Hardy rains down fists, but Sammy gets back in! Hardy bails out, but Andrade gets back in! TABLET SMACK! Sting runs Hardy off but Andrade snatches up the TNT Championship belts. Andrade wants to own them both, but Sting gets in, with his bat! Jose and Andrade hurry away with Hardy and the belts! Will the Andrade Hardy Family Office finally get some gold? Or will they have business to take care of with the Icon and the young pillars of AEW?

My Thoughts:

A great AEW that paved a lot of the road to Revolution. Punk opened with a great promo, and choosing Dog Collar match is pretty wild. MJF being speechless was a great touch, but I’d love if he was still just as speechless next week because of how brutal that match will be. Bryan VS Moriarty was an awesome match, certainly Moriarty’s best yet. Bryan of course wins, and I love that Moxley turns the tables on him. Bryan could choose to face Moxley, and if he wins he gets Moxley to join up, and I’m thinking that could be part of Revolution at this point. Keith Lee had a great promo, and he is clearly going to be treated/used right in AEW.

Wardlow had a great match with Caster, which was basically a handicap with The Acclaimed because Bowens was doing stuff and Spears didn’t do a thing until after Wardlow annihilated each of them. Just Wardlow and Keith Lee facing off in the Face of the Revolution ladder match is awesome, and then we’re going to add a bunch of other people to make it better. The House of Black has a very good vignette promo, and I love that there was a tease of a third member. Resist the temptation to go “Who’s the third man, brother?” if you can, but I am excited to see how this goes. One of the Varsity Blonds, perhaps?

Hangman and Cole had a great promo, lots of history yet to be visited, and what a great step towards the Elite civil war that’s brewing. Cole & reDRagon go after Hangman, Bucks apparently don’t care enough about Hangman to talk about him, but at least The Dark Order and Hangman are connected again. Cole VS Vance is going to probably be Vance’s best match but Cole is still going to win. The promo the Super KliqDragons had backstage was great stuff, especially Cole literally stuck in the middle, unsure who to walk away with. Jurassic Express & Christian have a good promo to set up the two different tag battle royals, and you can bet Bucks win one, reDRagon wins the other, Triple Threat where Jurassic Express can use Bucks and reDRagon against each other to retain.

We got a great match out of The Inner Circle, and how great for Eddie Kingston to show up. Santana & Ortiz get a big win, mostly cuz Jericho couldn’t ignore Kingston. Santana & Ortiz should definitely be in the tag team battle royals, maybe they disrupt the chances of Bucks and/or reDRagon winning, but maybe Jericho & Hager get in to ruin things for Santana & Ortiz. The Inner Circle has had a great run, this is definitely when they break up. Britt and group had a good promo, and what an interesting spot to plug the Cobra Kai series. No one swept the leg, so I’m disappointed. But Rosa VS Mercedes was awesome, and I did not see a Face turn for Mercedes through this.

Good promo from Jay White, he’ll have a great match with Trent on Rampage. And then, along with good promos from Darby and Sammy to hype up the main event, we got an AWESOME main event. And, after the news that Cody Rhodes is apparently gone from AEW, all the references to his moveset were genius. The match was bordering on PPV level, and then came the overbooking. But at the same time, of course Andrade screws over Darby. Andrade doesn’t like rejection, he wants to be the one to take the title, and I feel like instead of “If Darby loses, he works for Andrade,” we’re going to get a Face of the Revolution qualifier between them. That could go either way, but you can bet that’ll be overbooked as much as this match.

My Score: 8.9/10

PLAY BY PLAY

MJF arrives backstage.

Renee Paquette is there to bring up tonight’s main event is Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW World Championship. If Darby Allin wins, MJF will then have to sign a contract for Title VS Hair at Double or Nothing. Darby has made it clear that if MJF doesn’t sign said contract, Darby will never allow MJF to face him for the title again. We all know how important the title is for MJF, but is MJF willing to put his hair on the line for it? MJF just chuckles and moves on, but he notices the very bald Rick Knox, Bryce Remsburg, and the head of security, David Aponte. And then various bald members of the production staff…

And then even Christopher Daniels & Sonjay Dutt are there! Daniels and Sonjay chuckle before moving on, and then MJF sees John Silver flexing. Brandon Cutler, some arena staff, and even Tommaso Ciampa, all bald. Then last but certainly not least, Ricochet! He tells MJF that don’t worry, he’ll look great. Just not as good as Ricochet. AHA~! MJF storms off, will he have no choice but to choose between gold belt and chrome dome?

10 Man Tag: Orange Cassidy, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage & The Young Bucks VS Tommaso Ciampa, David Finlay, Clark Connors & FTR w/ Stokely Hathaway!

While we know the AEW World Tag Team Championship match will be a conglomeration of I Quit Match and New York Street Fight, THE Conglomeration will be waiting on the other side for their own tag title match. And let’s not forget that Matt & Nick Jackson want their own shot at those titles again. With that, can Freshly Squeezed work together with C&C and The Bucks? Or will the Psycho Killer, the Dogs, and the Top Guys all stand tall on the road to Double or Nothing?

The teams sort out and the teams just brawl it out! The fans cheer as The Bucks have The Dogs, Cope is after Ciampa, Christian is after Cash, and Dax brawls with Cassidy! Cassidy kicks and kicks but Ciampa drags him back! Cassidy turns to BOOT Ciampa away! Dax tags in and he CLOBBERS Cassidy! The fans boo but Dax flips them off. Dax whips Cassidy, runs up, but Cassidy dodges! Dax POSTS himself! Both men are down, hot tags to Cash and Nick! Nick rallies on FTR with haymakers, BLASTS Ciampa, but Cash kicks low! FTR whips, DOUBLE HIP- NO, Nick lands out, MEETING OF TEH MINDS! Then DOUBLE WHEEL KICK! The fans fire up as Nick then DROPKICKS Dax out! The Dogs run up, but Nick knuckle locks and CHOPS Finlay! Then Nick jumps over Connors, SUPERKICKS, and he goes for the corner!

Nick goes up, up, and “LUCHA LIBRE~!” FLYING ARM-DRAG RANA COMBO! The fans are thunderous and Nick tags Matt. Nick whips Finlay, Finlay reverses, but Nick goes up and over. Matt SUPERKICKS Finlay! Nick SHINING WIZARDS Connors, adds a GAMANGIRI, then The Bucks DOUBLE BULLDOG with the high-five! The fans fire up again as Matt winds up. Matt WRECKS FTR with a dropkick, then holds the way open, Nick FLIES onto FTR & Ciampa! But Connors back suplexes! Matt lands out, and NORTHERN LIGHTS! Roll through, NORTHERN LIGHTS! The Polar Express is getting going, and Finlay joins the ride! DOUBLE NORTHERN LIGHTS!

The fans are electric and it’s not just the volt green! Time for a SUPERKICK PARTAY~! Wait, Stokely grabs a foot each! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Stoke can’t even trip The Bucks up. The Bucks drag Stoke in! Stoke pleads for mercy, but FTR runs up! The Bucks dodge, mule kick, then SUPERKICK for Dax! SUPERKICK for Cash! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS on The Dogs! Then FTR is sent into The Dogs before DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! Ciampa runs up to waistlock but Nick switches. Ciampa BOOTS Matt away, ELBOWS Nick, but Matt dodges, PSYCHO KNEE into Cash! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Ciampa!

The fans fire up again, and The Bucks see C&C. They point to Christian, and the fans cheer! Christian steps in, the ref reprimands but Cope argues with the ref. This distraction lets Christian LOW BLOW Cash! DOUBLE SUPERKICKS for Cash! Christian covers, TWO! Cash survives, the fans boo, but Christian rains down fists while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Christian puts Cash in the corner to CHPO, CHOP, and then rain down fists! Christian goes past TEN, maybe to fifteen, then stops. Cash sputters, Stoke talks trash, but Christian grabs Stoke! Cash CLUBS Christian, Ciampa HOTSHOTS the bad arm, and Ciampa hurries to tag in. Ciampa drags Christian around, SLAMS the bad arm off the mat, then SLAMS the arm again! Ciampa POSTS Christian, and Christian falls to the apron. The ref keeps his eyes on the rest of the team so they stay back. Ciampa goes out, and he SWINGS the bad arm into the post! Christian scrambles away, clutching the arm, but Ciampa taunts Cope with a wave.

Ciampa tags Connors, Connors tags Finlay, and The Dogs stomp away on Christian. Finlay clamps onto the bad hand, bends the fingers, then JAMS them into the mat! The ref reprimands but Finlay anchors Christian while he tags in Dax. Dax CHOPS Christian, DECKS him, then taunts Cope and The Bucks. The Bucks rally the fans, Cope coaches Christian up, but Dax brings Christian around. Christian blocks a shot to hit back, but then Dax kicks low! Dynamite returns to single picture as Dax UPPERCUTS Christian back to the corner. Stoke is on commentary suddenly to say Christian tried to steal Stoke’s watch, aka the watch Stoke stole from Christian.

But Christian fires back on Dax and the whole corner! Then he and Dax DOUBLE LARIAT! The fans fire up while both men are down! Christian crawls, but we can see Cash and The Dogs sneaking over! Winners: Orange Cassidy, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage & The Young Bucks, by pinfall

Another star-studded 10 Man Tag, and it was a huge win for all the hungry contenders. Christian doesn’t wanna celebrate, but he does signal that he and Cope will be champions. Will putting their tag team legacy on the line be enough to take the gold? Or will Double or Nothing be the last night that team reeks of awesomeness?

Will Ospreay continues to train with The Death Riders.

They’re outside this time, Claudio Castagnoli playing some wall ball with Marina Shafir and Pac. Daniel Garcia says, “Tonight is the night that we’ve all been waiting for: The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, is cleared and back on Dynamite. And rumor has it, the kid’s been working real hard and he’s got some new tricks up his sleeves. So Young Boy Billy, tonight you gotta show me something, c’mon.” Garcia gets a quick turn in on wall ball while cameras move over. Ospreay is maintaining a neck bridge while Jon Moxley uses Wheeler Yuta as a living dummy to show just how to push and pull and bend and twist on the various chinlocks and headlocks.

Use the right arm to push against the head, then snake in the left arm for the sleeper. Pry and shoot. Moxley asks how Ospreay feels. Ospreay lets off the bridge and says honestly, the best he’s felt in forever. Moxley asks if Ospreay remembers the night he won the Best of the Super Juniors. Yeah, 2019. AKA a lifetime ago. Ospreay was carefree, flew like a bird, for no other reason than that’s just what birds do. So simple back then, chasing that feeling, like no other feeling in the world. Can’t really grab it in your hands for more than a few seconds. The joy of doing it. Then everybody comes in and tries to make it so overcomplicated.

Years pass, life happens, a family starts, responsibilities show up, bad things happen, bad choices catch up to you, and it’s all weight on your shoulders. You feel like you can’t fly. But Moxley will tell you something: Nothing is different. Nothing has changed. All those things are still gonna be there, but you can still fly. You’re just more dangerous now. You’re a bird of prey. So tonight, when you got out there, don’t go out there to protect anything. Not your neck, your image, your reputation, or what you’ve built in your career. Go out there to give something. Moxley checks on Yuta and says dammit, if you’re gonna snap a headlock, snap the headlock!

Moxley storms off to instruct his pupil, but will Ospreay use everything he has been taught to great effect? Or will he have to fold against Ace Austin?

Chris Jericho speaks.

“You wanna face Jericho in a match of my own design, Ricochet? A spectacle so innovative, so imaginative, it cannot be contained, it can only be witnessed. Well, be careful what you demand, because you’ve made a few enemies yourself, Ricochet. And now a match designed specifically to settle scores without any, and I mean AAANY~, limitations has gotten even bigger.” Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate were just looking for two more, but “Jungle” Jack Perry said he can bring four: himself, The Young Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! Jericho tells Ricochet that this is no longer what he designed, but it is a devil’s dance of destruction! Ricochet’s destruction!

Ricochet got what he wanted, now can he handle it? Bald. The first-ever SEVEN VS SEVEN Stadium Stampede, who will even survive?

Ricochet & The Demand respond.

They stand with Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family and Ricochet says we all know Jericho does a lot of talking out of his ass while The Demand gets things done. Just like Davis did when he defeated Jack for the AEW National Championship at Fairway to Hell. Hold it with pride, Davis, Ricochet knows you’ll do it well. Davis says he’s got this. Ricochet says Davis has joined the dream team, but he’s not the only one. Because compliments to Ricochet’s golfing buddy, Don Callis, look who else he’s sending: Andrade El Idolo! Gracias, amigo. But it doesn’t stop there, the train keeps rolling. Ricochet was just approached by two guys who have an ax to grind with the superkick sidekicks.

These two wanna fill out the last two spots, so who is Ricochet to say no to The Dogs? Finlay & Connors storm in, and Finlay says to put it simple, they will fight The Bucks in the streets, in the ring, but guess it’s fighting at Double or Nothing! If they want violence, if they want carnage, if they want chaos, who better than The Dogs?! The Dogs bark and Liona roars, but will these seven stand tall in the Big Apple?

“Speedball” Mike Bailey w/ Kevin Knight VS BK Westbrook!

JetSpeed has a lot of momentum on their side, and as stated last week at Fairway to Hell, they’re looking to grab up all the gold they can. Will Speedball keep on rolling towards his own golden opportunity? Or will #Supastud prove his own worth?

The bell rings and the fans rally as the two step up. Bailey bows in respect, offers a handshake, but Westbrook goes to roll Bailey up! Bailey stays on his feet, then steps over to sit down on a cover, TWO! Westbrook ducks a Penalty Kick, avoids the moonsault, and the sweep! Bailey dodges, Westbrook tiger feints through the ropes, but Bailey handsprings up and over! The fans fire up as Bailey ducks an elbow to whip. Westbrook goes up, around, but kinda fumbles his tumble. The fans cheer and jeer him for his attempt, but Westbrook blocks the boot! Westbrook FLIPS Bailey, springboards in, but Bailey dodges! TIME ADVENTURE!

Bailey pushes Westbrook down, goes up the corner, and the fans fire up for the ULTIMATE WEAPON! Cover, Bailey wins!

That might’ve been Ospreay’s first win by submission ever! He signals that his neck is no longer a problem, and he shows Ace respect for that fight. Ace accepts the handshake again, and Ospreay is moving on towards Double or Nothing with a great amount of momentum. But wait! SAMOA JOE is here! He and The Opps walk out on stage, and with mic in hand, Joe says, “Ospreay, Ospreay… OSPREAY, OSPREAY!” Joe is clearly mocking the chants for Ospreay, and the fans give genuine chanting and even singing in return. Joe says he just wanted to make sure Ospreay was listening, because these past few weeks, it seemed like Ospreay had a hard time hearing him.

Despite Ospreay’s best efforts, fate has put them on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Cup. The fans like the sound of that! Joe say she is here for one reason and one reason alone. He wants to speak about choices and consequences. Ospreay could’ve made the right choice and get a bye in this tournament, because that is what Joe would do for one of his friends. But Ospreay chose poorly. He could’ve been with the team that would do nothing but support and enhance Ospreay, but he decided to be a lapdog for Moxley and the Death Riders. The fans boo, Ospreay says he’s not a Death Rider.

Joe says Ospreay has made his choice, and come Double or Nothing, Joe makes Ospreay suffer the consequences. But Joe leaves Ospreay in peace tonight, for he has his date with destiny. But unfortunately, Joe’s friends, Katsuyori Shibata & Anthony Bowens, still feel slighted, and he doesn’t put leashes on his friends. Shibata & Bowens storm down the ramp, Ospreay ready to fight them both if he has to. But then The Death Riders appear! Ospreay may not have officially joined the club, but the Death Riders aren’t going to let their investment go to waste! The Opps say they’re #NeverLacking, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now!

Shibata & Bowens back down while Moxley, Marina, Claudio, Yuta, Garcia & Pac all step up to support Ospreay. Joe says, “Soon. Soon.” The fans cheer the Death Riders, or at least Moxley, but Bowens promises Joe is gonna kill you, Ospreay! The dream match for Double or Nothing is on, but will the training with The Death Riders make Ospreay the new King of Harts?

Backstage interview with Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita.

Renee is now with The Invisible Hand & The Alpha, saying tonight is a huge opportunity in the main event, Konosuke facing Darby Allin for THE AEW World Championship. Konosuke could be heading into Double or Nothing as a- Callis stops Renee there to say Konosuke will be heading into Double or Nothing as a DOUBLE champion! But then MJF steps in, apologizes for the interruption but says Renee’s doing a great job. The Scumbag tells Konosuke that while it’s been a minute since the two of them have talked, three years actually, back when MJF beat him… MJF has seen Konosuke develop into truly one of the best wrestlers in the world!

MJF believes that tonight, Konosuke beats Darby for the title, goes to DON to beat Okada, and MJF can’t think of a better match than Konosuke VS MJF Part 2 for the world title. How’s that sound? MJF offers a handshake, Konosuke shakes his hand, but in Japanese, Konosuke tells MJF that he’ll beat the crap out of him. Thankfully, MJF doesn’t know Japanese. Callis says that was a nice pep talk MJF just gave, and MJF says yes, he knows. That kid needs to win, okay? MJF can’t let Darby turn him into some disgusting, bald freak! No offense, Callis looks great. But look, there is only one foolproof way to know MJF won’t be put in that situation.

So if things get hairy… MJF hands over the Dynamite Diamond Ring! Callis smiles, and say she understands what to do with it. But then in steps Andrade. El Idolo takes off his hat to shake out his amazing head of hair, and smiles at MJF. MJF frowns and leaves. Callis says here’s the deal: Takeshita will bring the world title home to the Don Callis Family tonight! Andrade asks, “How you know?” Callis says aye dios mio, he seriously doesn’t know where Andrade learned English. Andrade says one way or another, the next time, that will be HIS title. Callis says yes, he knows, it’s all good. Callis is a man of many talents, but will his family be dripping with gold thanks to a diamond ring?

AEW now announces the Women’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament brackets!

Double or Nothing will see Willow Nightingale, the reigning Queen of Harts, take on Alex Windsor, while we will see Persephone VS Hazuki, Skye Blue vs Sareee, and Mina Shirakawa VS Athena! Champions from around the world are gathering for this tournament, but who will be headed to Forbidden Door, and then All In: London?

Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.

Renee Paquette is now with Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Willow Nightingale. Renee commends Cassidy on his part in the 10 Man Tag victory. But it seems that there is even more business to attend to. Cassidy says yes, the team has a shot at THE AEW World Tag Team Championships. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re getting their shot, but the thing is… They still haven’t decided on which two will be. Kyle says Cassidy & Roddy should go for the gold, but Roddy shouts, “KYYYLE~! Thank you.” Kyle says of course. But that’s cuz he’s got gold to chase for himself!

The same man that put Kyle on the shelf for months is the man that Kyle submitted twice, and will submit again. Jon Moxley, Continental Champion, when are we doing this? Willow says speaking of gold, she is still the TBS Champion. But she is also in the Owen Hart Cup. She won this tournament before, she’ll do it all over again, so that she can have all the gold for herself at All In: London. She knows she can, and she will! Then Conglomeration has it all in order? Cassidy says hold on, there’s something missing. They should do a Word of the Day. Why haven’t they done one in so long? Roddy shouts for “MAAARK~!” And yes, Mark Briscoe returns!

The Sussex County Chicken is all fired up, and he says the Word of the day is reunification! For Mark Briscoe is back with his boys and his girls, The Conglomeration! But he’ll put this plain and simple: Tommaso Ciampa! Next Wednesday, Briscoe’s after your ass, son! You hear him? But before that, Saturday Night Collision is in HIS hometown, Salisbury, Maryland! That’s just 4.4 miles from where Briscoe originated on this earth! They’re gonna conglomerate and it’s gonna be a a hell of a time! Are you ready!? Willow and Kyle are fired up, Briscoe goes wild, and the team heads out. Cassidy admits, that was a lot of yelling.

But while The Conglomeration is ready to go Double or Nothing, will they soon have even more gold in the collection? Or are these high and lofty a little too much even for them?

Darby slumps against the steps, Konosuke runs up, but Darby dodges! Konosuke’s knees hit the steps and he tumbles over! Darby then runs up the steps to SHOTGUN Konosuke down!

The fans fire up while both men are down on the floor! Konosuke checks his knee before he crawls around, and Darby gets in the ring so he can build speed! Darby DIVES! Direct hit on Konosuke but Darby’s the one who hits the desk! The fans fire up while both men are down again, but Darby rises up to get Konosuke on the apron! Darby fires forearms, then goes up a corner! COFFIN- NO, Konosuke catches him for a SUPER BLUE THUNDER BOMB to the floor!! The fans go nuts again and Callis says that’s the end of Darby Allin, but Dynamite goes picture in picture.

The ref hurries to check Darby but Callis tells Doc Sampson to call it. Darby is somehow still in this, so Konosuke storms his way over. Konosuke drags Darby up, puts him in the ring, then paces around him. Konosuke runs the ropes to LARIAT! Darby flips inside-out, Konosuke covers him, TWO!! Darby still has fight inside but he’s also dazed. Konosuke clamps onto Darby with a chinlock and squeezes tight. Darby endures, even as Konosuke leans on him with his much-taller frame. Darby reaches out, fights around, and rises up, only for Konosuke to CANADIAN RACK BOMB! Darby sputters all over again while Dynamite returns to single picture.

Konosuke sits back as he watches Darby crawl to the apron. Konosuke storms his way over, but Darby RAMS low! Slingshot sunset flip, but Konosuke rolls through! Only for Darby to kick the legs out! Darby catches Konosuke to a GUILLOTINE! Konosuke endures the squeeze, fights up to his feet, and he powers out to THROW Darby! Darby lands out, fires shots, and RAMS low! Darby then hops on, but Konosuke stops Code Red! Konosuke swings Darby around, tucks him in, BASTARD DRIVER! And WHEELBARROW GERMAN! The fans fire up and Callis says that’s true power! Darby sputters again and Konosuke vows to end this.

Konosuke runs corner to corner, HELLUVA KICK!! Then he hoists Darby up top, climbs up after him, and goes to the very top! The fans freak out already for the SUPER DUPER GERMAN SUPLEX!! Bridging cover, TWO!!! Callis is freaking out as much as the fans, and he protests the count! Konosuke is furious, but he aims for the WAGAMAMA KNEE!!! Cover, TWO?!?! Darby survives by nanoseconds, and Konosuke is beside himself! “This is Awesome!” but now CLØN rushes out here! He distracts the ref, and Callis hurries to take the Dynamite Diamond Ring off his finger to put it in Konosuke’s hands! Konosuke thinks about it, but The Alpha has honor!

The fans cheer as Konosuke wants to do this his way! But then Darby runs up, cradles, TWO!! Konosuke escapes, ALPHA ELBOW!! Darby is down, dazed, but still moving! Konosuke drags Darby up again, goes back to the corner and back to the top rope. The fans hope these two “FIGHT FOREVER!” but it has to end somehow! Darby fights against the lift with headlock punches! Then he hops on, SUPER CODE RED!! Konosuke staggers up, Darby leg scissors, steps through, LAST SUPPER!! TWO?!?! Konosuke escapes again, then bails out! So Darby just goes up top! SUPER COFFIN DROP!! Direct hit and both men are down again!

The fans are thunderous as Konosuke and Darby stir. A ring count climbs, Callis complains that some people just gotta follow directions and run the play! Coach Callis pulled Konosuke outta obscurity, Konosuke would do anything! Now he’s got some gold, some fame, and gets a mind of his own! Callis complaining aside, the ring count is climbing! Darby drags himself in at 9, but Konosuke YANKS him back out! That refreshes the count, and Konosuke vows to end this for real now. Konosuke points to the steel steps, and he drags Darby up onto them with a deadlift RAGING- NO, Darby knees Konosuke, turns things around, and FULL METAL SCORPION DEATH DROP!!!

The fans go nuts again while Konosuke writhes! Konosuke flops off the steps, Darby crawls into the ring, and Darby just climbs the corner again! SUPER DUPER COFFIN DROP!!! Konosuke might be unconscious! Darby still hauls Konosuke into the ring, pushes him to a cover, TWO?!?!? Konosuke survives and Darby is furious! But Darby just reloads, COFFIN DROP but onto knees!!! Ghost pin, TWO!!! Darby escapes but the WAGAMAMA KNEE finds him!! Konosuke hauls Darby up, but Darby pops free! Trip, step through, and SCORPION DEATH LOCK!!! Konosuke endures, reaches out, but Darby sits deep!!

Callis says don’t even think about it! Konosuke almost does, but he bites his own thumb to ignore the pain in his back! Konosuke reaches out, crawls his way forward, and he fights to the ROPEBREAK!!! But Darby is right up top! COFFION DROP on the back!! Then Darby goes right back up, COFFIN DROP again!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!!

Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)

Callis is steaming, but Darby overcomes Konosuke to avenge that loss in the Continental Classic! But it also took so much out of him just to do it! Darby still asks for a mic and one is brought to him. Darby sits up against the ropes, has them cut his music, and he tells MJF to get his ass out here! There’s a contract MJF needs to sign! The ring crew hurries to bring in a table and some chairs for that very contract signing, and MJF makes his entrance. MJF reluctantly makes his way down the ramp, and both men meet at the table. Darby grins with blood still in hiss teeth, and he signs his part of the contract without hesitation, unlike MJF.

The fans already chant “BALD! BALD! BALD!” at MJF, and Darby pushes the contract to his side of the table. MJF grabs the pen, reaches out, but then steps away. MJF scratches his chin as he thinks on this, and the fans just chant, “BALD! BALD! BALD!” again. MJF takes a mic to say he’ll explain something to Darby, looking like he has rabies. But see, MJF is happy for Darby, he hopes Darby’s had fun holding MJF’s AEW World Championship. The fans boo that, but MJF says deep down, there is a small part of him, like the size of a North Carolinian p*nis small. That small part of MJF feels bad for Darby, because he’ll never hold this again!

Darby’s got about a good a chance of holding this title as Hangman Adam Page does again. MJF says guys like Darby are a dime a dozen, here today and gone tomorrow, stuntmen who burn the candle at both ends. In this life, people like all these fans here like to pretend that life is about making friends and family and children. The only thing that matters in life is your legacy. And Darby’s legacy will be that of the kid who had his 15 minutes of fame. They’ll pretend like Darby made a lasting impact, but the fact of the matter is, he hasn’t. He hasn’t! They’ll know deep down that Darby Allin was just a little pr*ck who got lucky.

They’ll know that Darby was too reckless and stupid to stay on top. And after May 24th, Double or Nothing, in that sh*thole of Queens, New York, y’know what MJF’s legacy will be? He’ll go down as the guy who became a THREE-TIME World Champion at just 30 years of age, unprecedented in this sport. And MJF will go down, when it’s all said and done, as the Greatest of All Time! THAT is the difference between them! Darby Allin brags about climbing a mountaintop. But when it comes to professional wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman IS the mountaintop! The fans boo but MJF soaks it up. Darby tells MJF to SHUT UP!

Only someone like MJF who is so vain would think that the number one most important thing in this world is his legacy. Darby doesn’t care about legacy, he cares about living in the moment! And in this moment, Darby just wants MJF to sign the contract. Then at Double or Nothing, Darby makes Maxwell Jacob Friedman a BALLD HEADED B*TCH!! MJF frowns but the fans cheer that! MJF grabs the pen again, and with no choice, he signs on the dotted line! Then he TACKLES Darby! The fans boo as MJF beats up Darby after the war he went through with Konosuke! MJF CHUCKS an armchair outta the ring, FLIPS the table, then picks up his Dynamite Diamond Ring.

MJF puts the ring on his finger like always, then winds up to DECK Darby!! The fans boo but MJF just soaks it all up. MJF throws off his jacket, picks up the belt, and he stands over Darby with it. But then MJF isn’t done with Darby, he puts Darby on the top rope! MJF climbs up to join him, and drags Darby into position! But wait! Kevin Knight runs out here to chase MJF off! The Jet still owes The Scumbag a receipt, but it seems we’ll all have to wait on that. Will MJF still take back the title at Double or Nothing? Or will Darby keep the belt and take MJF’s dignity?

My Thoughts:

An awesome episode for Dynamite as things heat up towards Double or Nothing. Awesome 10 Man Tag to open, great win for the Faces, not that it added much to FTR VS C&C. Good promo from Jericho to look back on Stadium Stampede and hype up this year’s match. Good promo from The Demand with Davis and The Dogs, and I suppose this maximizes the feuds as well as the alliances throughout the locker room. Who knows who wins but the match will still be awesome, just as the original was. Good promo from Conglomeration, too, Cassidy & Roddy going after FTR while Kyle VS Moxley happens on the side, that’s great stuff.

Speaking of Moxley, great promo from him and Ospreay. Moxley’s semi-turn has really brought out his sage philosophical side. Great match from Ospreay VS Ace, and while Ospreay could always bring out his aggression, seeing him use more technical wrestling and even winning with a submission is good stuff. Good promo from Joe, and I liked Death Riders backing Ospreay up. Very good Owen Hart Cup brackets this year, Joe VS Ospreay is a great choice given this story, but I would think Ospreay wins that one. Good promo from Jack Perry to call out Davis, and I suppose Jack can win in the Owen Cup to then move on from the National title.

Great seeing Brian Cage back, he gave Knight an awesome match, but with JetSpeed wanting to go on a Two Man Power Trip, it makes sense Kevin won out. Same for Bailey beating Westbrook, even though Westbrook maybe went too hard on his own acrobatic escape. Great stuff in the Six Woman Tag, and I appreciate Shida didn’t ditch until after the match. Willow, Mina & Rosa might get their own Six Woman Tag with Triangle of Madness after that interaction, but also can’t wait to see if Willow can go back-to-back as Queen of Harts. For that matter, I personally would love to see Athena use the Owen Cup to move on from being ROH Women’s World Champion, but that depends on how Supercard of Honor goes this Friday.

And of course, another wild instant classic from Darby as he overcomes Takeshita. I knew the diamond ring would come into play with that reverse effect, good way of protecting Takeshita in the loss. Good stuff with MJF tonight, too, such as the opening segment’s parade of bald men to send the message to MJF. That was also a unique contract signing segment in that it came together so quickly after the main event match. Good stuff from MJF as always, and of course he attacks Darby. I feel like either Knight should not have made the save, or both parts of JetSpeed should’ve made the save. It just seems odd that only Knight cared about saving Darby. The closing moment was much better when it was MJF standing over Darby with the belt.

My Score: 9/10

Davis CHOPS Jack into the crowd! Davis leaves Jack behind while the ring count climbs. Jack drags himself up while the fans cheer him on, and Jack gets help getting up and over the barriers. The fans are thunderous but Callis rushes to ringside! The fans all boo Callis, but wait! RICOCHET slides into the ring! Still dressed in his golf course attire, he CRACKS Jack with his nine iron!! Ricochet hides, Davis deadlifts Jack, COUNT TO PAIN!! Cover, DAVIS WINS!

Winner: Mark Davis, by pinfall (NEW AEW National Champion)

Talk about a handicap! Callis AND Ricochet gave Davis quite a considerable one, and now Davis has his first singles title in AEW! The Jurassic Express National Tour has just been run off the road, but will Jack be able to get his revenge?

Collision returns, and Jack Perry is on the phone.

He tells someone, “Let’s do it. Thank you, guys.” Jack ends his call, then shows his frustration. Winning the National Championship in his hometown, in front of his friends and family, was one of the proudest moments of his entire life. And yet Ricochet and Callis had to end that for him. But he happens to know that Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate are looking for two more partners for Stadium Stampede. And Jack go to thinking, the show is called Double or Nothing. So how about instead of two, Jack brings FOUR! The ELITE! Jack, The Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! See you there. Ricochet may have just messed himself over, will he regret ever getting involved tonight?

Backstage interview with Don Callis, Mark Davis and Ricochet.

Renee Paquette is with the Jackal, Dunkzilla and the Bald Eagle as she says she was going to congratulate Davis on the title win, but after Jack putting out that news, what is their reaction? Callis says he’s thrilled! Jack just gifted him his ultimate fantasy! A chance to beat up Jericho, The Bucks AND Kenny, all on one night? Callis would’ve paid good money for that, and Jack, you dumbass, just gave it away from free! Ricochet says The Don Callis Family must be joining The Demand for Stadium Stampede. Well, given the way Ricochet just used that golf club, the National Champion will gladly stand beside him!

Ricochet says playing golf with Tony Khan has really improved his swing, so see you all there. Callis says yes, let’s go have a drink at the 19th Hole and talk about which of the many members of the Don Callis Family are going to join Ricochet in the slaughterhouse! Ricochet says oh yes, so many great choices to choose from! Callis & Ricochet head out, just how massive will this Stadium Stampede match get?

AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator: The Divine Dominion VS Ruthie Slay & Rachel Ley!

Megan Bayne & Lena Kross are so dominant, they don’t even think this match is going to last five minutes! But while there’s a time limit, will there be no limit to how devastating the Megasus & Aussie Amazon can be? Or will Slay & Ley manage to survive the day?

The teams sort out, Lena starts against Slay, and the clock is ticking! Slay DROPKICKS, but Lena doesn’t budge! Ley ENZIGIRIS, but Lena still doesn’t flinch! Ley & Slay double kick, but Lena blocks the double whip! Lena whips them, ELBOWS Slay and SPIN-OUT SIDEWALK SLAMS Ley! Then she scoops Slay to SLAM her onto Ley! Lena drags Ley up, whips her to the corner, then runs up to LARIAT! And ELBOW! Tag to Megan and the Divine Dominion run side to side! BOOT from Lena, BOOT from Megan! Then GERMAN SUPLEX! Ley tumbles, the fans cheer, and Megan tags Lena back in. Lena storms up on Ley to GERMAN SUPLEX again!

The fans cheer as Lena tags Megan back in. We’ve hit 90 seconds, but it feels like forever for Ley as Megan GERMAN SUPLEXES again! Megan kips up, then she stalks Ley. Megan eggs Ley on, slaps her around, then drags her up. Megan fireman’s carries, but Slay manages to tag in! Slay runs up, but Megan scoops her! FALL AWAY SLAM SAMOAN DROP COMBO! They’ve made it two minutes but that might be all! Tag to Lena, she and Megan get Slay up, DIVINE INTERVENTION! Cover, Divine Dominion wins!

Winners: The Divine Dominion, by pinfall (denies Slay & Ley a title opportunity)

Two minutes and 15 seconds is all Slay & Ley got, will any team last even that long? Or will the Divine Dominion continue to dominate AEW until the end of time?

BREAKING NEWS for Double or Nothing!

The Triangle of Madness may have misted Persephone and injured Alex Windsor, but that only heaps on more trouble for the champion! Thekla must now defend her AEW Women’s World Championship in a FATAL 4 WAY! Thekla VS Jamie Hayter VS Kris Statlander VS Hikaru Shida, is The Toxic Spider about to get squashed? Or will she need her Sisters of Sin now more than ever?

BREAKING NEWS for Dynamite!

The annual tradition is back! The 2026 Owen Hart Memorial Tournament begins, with the brackets for both men’s and women’s divisions to be announced on Wednesday! Who makes the cut? And who will become the King & Queen of Harts?

Don Callis speaks, again.

“Just moments away from the AEW World title match between Darby Allin and Pac, and gentlemen, just wanted to let you know that the Don Callis Family, no matter who wins tonight, the Don Callis Family will be waiting for the winner. This Wednesday on Dynamite, the Don Callis Family will take the AEW World title from one of you. And y’know, it’s already been a great night, a big night, for the Don Callis Family! We won gold, but can’t wait to get some more. And on the subject of that, Okada has had to go to Japan to take care of some very important family business. But don’t worry, lads, because I have someone in mind to take his spot this Wednesday in the world title match.

“And it is none other than the firstborn of the Don Callis Family, Konosuke Takeshita, The Alpha!” Takeshita steps in, and Callis tells him, “You’re gonna be the world champion! If you listen to me like you always have, you will be successful, and you will finally fulfill the destiny that I had for you when I plucked you out of obscurity and made you the replacement for Kenny Omega. You’re the best wrestler in the world when you’ve got my game plan in your head. Go win the title.” Konosuke tells Don that he was going to take the International Championship, but now he is the person who will bring the world title back to the Don Callis Family! Unlike Okada.

Takeshita heads out, will he still make himself a double champion when he adds #PrettyPlatinum to the NJPW World Television Championship?

“Speedball” Mike Bailey w/ Kevin Knight VS Kiran Grey!

This match was on standby in case the Divine Dominion didn’t need all five minutes of their time, and now it’s a chance for Speedball to shine! But will he keep his momentum going from last Wednesday’s super show? Or will he get lost in the Grey Area?

Grey is already starting trouble as he pushes Bailey. The ref backs him off, then the bell rings. Grey runs up, but into a BOOT! Bailey then PENALTY KICKS, STANDING KNEE-SAULT, then Bailey waits on Grey. Grey ducks the buzzsaw and bails out! The fans boo but Bailey TRIANGLE JUMP MOONSAULTS! Down goes Grey and the fans fire up! Bailey daps it up with The Jet, then he climbs up the corner. But Grey goes after him! They brawl up top, Grey fires a flurry, but Bailey fires back! Bailey SHOVES Grey down, takes aim, but Grey hits the ropes! Bailey is tripped up onto his speedballs, but Grey dribbles him off the buckles!

Grey CLUBS Bailey into a Tree of Woe, then soaks up the heat before he stomps Bailey! Grey tells Bailey to stay down but Bailey grabs  that leg! Bailey uses that to drag himself back up, and he ROCKS Grey again! Bailey dribbles Grey off buckles, then HEADBUTTS him! Grey falls, Bailey takes aim, ULTIMATE WEAPON! Cover, Bailey wins!

Winner: “Speedball” Mike Bailey, by pinfall

A fast win for Speedball, and Knight gets the mic. he says he likes that! Speedball is red hot right now. And though The Jet didn’t get two belts on Wednesday, he’s still the Face of TNT. Now, the future of AEW is wide open, so why not they make it to the top together? They shake hands on it, will JetSpeed shift gears to become a Two Man Power Trip? What belt(s) will they aim for next?

AEW World Championship No Count Outs Match: Darby Allin VS PAC!

Anticipating how wild this one can get given the nature of their grudge, AEW decided to remove some of the obstacles standing in their way. They can’t do anything they want, but they can definitely go anywhere they want here in the SoFi Center! But will Darby even up the career series between them? Or will it be 3-1 in favor of The Bastard?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who takes this belt to Dynamite!

The bell rings and the fans rally behind Darby. Darby hops outside already, and he goes around the crowd to be on the golfing green! This is No Count Outs, so he wants to take full advantage of it already! He dares Pac to join him, so Pac heads over to the green! They fire hands on the rough and the fans fire up! Darby ducks, fires hands then HEADBUTTS Pac down! Darby brings Pac up but Pac BACKDROPS Darby! Pac then brings Darby closer to the bunker! Pac suplexes, Darby fights free, and he fires hands! Darby runs up, CODE RED into the sand trap! The fans go nuts seeing what is surely the first one of those ever!

Pac gets himself out of the sand and ends up on the fairway. Darby pursues, runs up, and ROCKS Pac1 they’re near another sand trap, and Darby SHOTGUNS Pac into the sand! The fans cheer “A E DUB! A E DUB!” for making this madness a reality! Darby goes after Pac, but Pac throws sand in Darby’s eyes! Pac then hauls Darby up to BELLY2BELLY SUPLEX Darby into the sand trap! Darby sputters, but Pac clamps on the BRUTALIZER! The ref reprimands, this isn’t Falls Count Anywhere! But fans know “This is Awesome!” as Pac makes Darby suffer! Darby sputters again as Pac lets him go, then shakes out the sand in his boots.

Pac drags Darby up with a headlock, but then decides to fireman’s carry! And gorilla press to THROW Darby back into the bunker! The fans boo but Pac soaks up that heat. Darby sputters and coughs while Collision goes picture in picture.

Darby sputters as he sits up, but Pac brings him back around. Pac brings Darby around, dumps him down, and soaks up more heat. Pac then brings Darby along the fairway, CLUBS him on the neck, and stalks him as they return to the crowd. They then return to ringside, then the ring itself, and Pac covers, TWO! Darby toughs it out, but Pac stalks him to the corner. Pac uncovers a crossbar before he stands Darby up. Fairway to Hell returns to single picture as Pac tiles the tag rope to Darby’s chain necklace! Darby can’t get free before Pac BOOTS him! The ref reprimands, but Darby SPITS at Pac! Pac takes that defiance and BOOTS Darby again!

Pac then has Darby’s legs, and YANKS him from the corner! The tag rope breaks and Darby flounders around. Pac whips to then BACKDROP Darby 450 degrees! Pac then builds up speed, but Darby avoids the lariat! The fans fire up as Darby slingshots back in and dragon sleepers for the SCORPION DEATH DROP! Cover, TWO! Pac and Darby are both down while the fans rally up again. Darby crawls to a corner, climbs up top, and he watches Pac rise. Pac turns around, but he manages to trip Darby up first! Pac then climbs up after Darby, hauls him up, and SUPER DUPER FALCON ARROWS! Cover, TWO!! Darby survives and the fans fire up again!

Pac frowns while Darby flounders out of the ring. The fans rally for Darby while Pac takes his time going to the outside. Pac looks under the ring, and he brings out a table! The fans cheer but the ref reprimands, this isn’t No Disqualifications! Pac still sets the table up nearby, making sure it lines up with the corner. Pac puts Darby on the table, then climbs up said corner. The fans freak out, anticipating what Pac is planning, and he steadies himself as he takes aim. Pac SUPER SHOOTING STARS but only gets table!! Darby avoids disaster, and Pac is somehow still in this after his crash landing! Darby puts Pac in, trips him, and steps through!

The fans fire up as Darby steps over, SCORPION DEATHLOCK!! Pac endures, reaches out, but Darby sits deep! Pac fights, claws, reaches out, and powers his way forward! ROPEBREAK! Darby lets Pac go, and Pac waves to the back. Well, of course The Death Riders are here! Darby spots Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia & Marina Shafir storming down the aisle, but then Pac CLOBBERS him! A distraction tactic is good enough as Pac now turns the proverbial tables. Then he signals for them to get something, and they bring out another table! The fans chant, “On The Green!” but Pac doesn’t care about that. He scoops Darby to go up the steel steps!

The fans boo as Pac tucks Darby in, TOMBSTONE on the steel steps! The fans go nuts as Darby flops to the floor! Wait, wait, wait, now The Death Riders have STACKED tables?! Pac smirks as he brings Darby back up, and he fireman’s carries Darby to bring him over. Darby goes to the backstage area while Collision goes picture in picture.

Pac carries Darby all the way around to the backstage area, because this is the only place to get upstairs! Pac SMACKS Darby off a wall on the way to the stairs, and the ref reprimands while Pac scares off curious fans. Pac drags Darby up the stairs with a headlock, and they go to the upper deck! Pac brings Darby past the nice bar and lounge area, the ref and Death Riders making sure fans don’t get too close. Pac SMACKS Darby off another wall, then drags Darby through this VIP seating area to go to the balcony. Pac stomps Darby to keep him down, then drags him to the balcony railing! And lo and behold, those stacked tables are right there!

The ref reprimands and the fans are freaking out already, but Pac is looking to toss Darby! Darby clings to the railing but Pac CLUBS him. Pac then drags Darby up, but Darby fires body shots! Fairway to Hell returns to single picture as Darby fights desperately! Darby CLAWS Pac’s back, but Marina shouts at Darby! The ref keeps her back, but that lets Pac LOW BLOW Darby! The Problem continues to be just that, but also the insurance policy for the Death Riders! Pac stands Darby up, and THROWS him off!! Darby crashes down through the tables!!! The fans lose their minds all over again while Pac hurries to go back downstairs!

AEW medical staff is already checking Darby as he’s down in the wreckage, but Pac says screw that! He fireman’s carries Darby and puts him back in the ring! Pac covers, TWO!!! Darby survives and the fans are thunderous! Pac and The Death Riders are in shock! Pac falls back to a corner as he shakes his head. Pac argues with the ref, but 2.99 still isn’t 3! The fans rally for Darby, but Pac storms over to him. Pac looms over Darby, Yuta slides a chair into the ring, but the ref snatches it away! Only for Marina to slide the title belt in! Pac takes aim while Darby rises, but then Darby springs to life! Pac has seen a ghost, or maybe a zombie!

Pac winds up, but Darby LOW BLOWS! And BELT SHOTS!! Darby gets Pac in place, goes up top, COFFIN DROP!! Cover, DARBY WINS!

Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)

Pac said it himself, Darby is the indestructible boy! But can Darby keep this up? Or will The Alpha come through on his promise and bring this title back to the Don Callis Family this Wednesday?

My Thoughts:

A great hour of AEW here as this special edition of Collision, though “Fairway to Hell” is such a random thing to begin with. They must’ve made a business deal with SoFi and TGL, which to me might be more AEW helping TGL get noticed on a national scale. And changing the status quo with the National Championship was quite the surprise, but that’s still great for Davis. Ricochet being the reason why, and then that compelling The Elite jumping into Stadium Stampede is a bit convoluted. I get they’re using continuity of how Kenny hates Callis and vice-versa, but it undercuts what I was hoping for in Hurt Syndicate getting to introduce new members. But hey, 7v7 is pretty wild, too.

I appreciate Divine Dominion adding something to their squash matches with that five minute goal. Slay & Ley already set a good time with over two minutes, and I’m sure two minutes will be the average as they just dominate all summer. And it seems Alex Windsor is gonna be out a little longer than expected, given that adjustment for Double or Nothing. A Fatal 4 Way is still good for how Thekla can use her challengers against each other, or be protected in a loss if they choose. It also helps bring in the Shidalander story, but it also feels like we’re skipping chapters. That Fatal 4 Way can probably get us to the team breaking up and Shida turning on Statlander for their own feud.

Bailey VS Grey probably was a legit standby match, that went quick. And Knight had a decent promo saying he and Bailey are still gonna be JetSpeed going for all the gold. Not sure if that comes true or just sets things up for the team to fall apart. And then a really wild main event with the “No Count Out” match. They probably could’ve just called that No Holds Barred but they wanted to add heat on how The Death Riders were cheating the second half of that match. Both table spots were risky, but obviously Darby did the crazier one. AEW really needs to be careful not to push it much further than that, though.

Then the news of Okada being out for Dynamite, hopefully it’s nothing too tragic with his family. But Takeshita as the substitute is a good choice, this helps build the Okada VS Takeshita match at the same time as building Darby up. Pretty sure MJF accepts the terms of Title VS Hair, and it’d be very MJF if he were to announce that while attacking Darby to close the show on Wednesday.

My Score: 8.8/10
