Another great event and great round, though I suppose I’m sounding like a broken record now. NJPW always does great, so this was no different. Though it is becoming clear who is the bottom of the block with Connors and Kanemaru both losing. They had great matches with Sho and Yoh, though, and Yoh using the whiskey mist was really clever stuff. Can’t wait to see Sho VS Yoh here, RPG 3K Fallout will be a feud that goes on and on for years. Taguchi VS Akira was great stuff, too, especially with Taguchi not using his red undies. Not that that isn’t hilarious stuff, but it was a character detail where Taguchi stayed serious and won. Six or Nine splits with Akira & TJP, but I bet we’ll still see those teams in a IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship program after BOSJ.

And of course the matches of undefeated entrants were awesome stuff. Austin VS Hiromu and Zayne VS Taiji were both great, everybody got their moves in, but in the end, it makes a lot of sense that the NJPW guys go over. Not only because they’re the NJPW talent, but because they both have those stories of BOSJ Threepeat and IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion winning the BOSJ carrying them through. As I said last time, those two are the frontrunners for the block, and the winner between them will surely be the finalist.

My Score: 8.9/10
