Dynamite Diamond Ring Battle Royal!
Another year, another battle for that coveted $150,000 diamond ring! But things are a little different, as Maxwell Jacob Friedman, our NEW AEW World Champion, has the prerogative to not participate in this match. Instead, think of this more as a #1 contender’s battle royal with the winner getting to choose when and where they face MJF for that ring. Ricky Starks vows that when he wins this match, he’ll make next week’s title match into a Winner Takes All! Will this be an Absolute Victory for Ricky Starks? Or will someone else in this crowded field take that diamond ticket instead?
Fans go wild as Starks makes his entrance, and then they go wild as “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry makes his entrance. We already have Brian Cage, The Butcher, The Blade, Orange Cassidy, Captain Shawn Dean, Matt Hardy, Ethan Page, Lee Moriarty, W. Morrissey, Kip Sabian, Dalton Castle and The Boys at ringside, but wait! Here comes The Natural, Dustin Rhodes! Fans fire up for the hometown hero, the bell rings, and everyone rushes into the ring! Well, almost everyone as Kip plays things a bit more shrewdly, and even Castle & The Boys wait as things sort out. Cassidy takes his time because that’s just the way Freshly Squeezed rolls.
The Butcher brawls with Dean, The Blade is after JB and Dustin is on Hardy while The Firm’s All Ego and #TAIGASTYLE mug Starks. Castle slides in to help Starks out, and Kip yanks Cassidy out under the bottom rope, wanting to continue things from Rampage’s All-Atlantic Championship Lumberjack Match! Kip RAMS Cassidy into railing! Ethan bumps Castle off buckles and Starks turns things around on Moriarty. Ethan CHOKES Castle while The Boys protest. Castle hits Ethan back, Moriarty turns things around on Starks to rain down fists. Starks stops that and hits an atomic drop! Hardy helps Ethan by going after Castle.
Dustin digs his boots into Ethan while Hardy dribbles Castle off buckles. Kip throws Cassidy around ringside, Dustin bumps Ethan off buckles. Dustin CHOPS Ethan, Cassidy turns things around on Kip but Kip sends Cassidy into the apron! Fans rally for Starks, Castle gives Hardy a raspberry? Dustin ROCKS Butcher, Dean throws hands on Cage. Kip and Cassidy are finally in the ring and Cassidy bounces Kip off buckles. And again! And again! Butcher CLUBS Cassidy down! Butcher and Kip work together on Cassidy but he kicks at them. Cassidy gets free, dodges Kip, and runs in at Kip, only for Kip to send him up and out!
Cassidy holds onto the ropes, but Kip BITES one of Cassidy’s hands! Cassidy still skins the cat to headscissor Kip! Kip resists, pushes Cassidy away, but Cassidy hits him back! Blades sucker punches Cassidy and drags him off! Blade ELIMINATES Cassidy, then POSTS him! Fans boo but the damage is done and Kip is all smiles. Dustin runs at Kip and hits a DESTROYER! Dustin clotheslines Kip up and out to ELIMINATE him! Fans fire up but then Butcher CLUBS Dustin! Butcher fires off hands but Dustin gives them back! They brawl with haymakers but Butcher knees low! And again! Butcher fireman’s carries but Dustin fights free!
Dustin is on the apron, he throws hands on Butcher while fans go nuts over Starks narrowly avoiding elimination at the hands of Matt Hardy! Dustin ROCKS Butcher, Hardy kicks at Starks. Moriarty is after Castle in a corner while Butcher rakes Dustin’s eyes! Butcher CLOBBERS Dustin and ELIMINATES him! Fans boo but Blade high-fives with Butcher while staying safe on the outside. Butcher fires off on Dustin, Cage throws Castle out! Cage KNEES Castle off the apron, but The Boys catch him! Cage ROCKS Castle again, the Boys keep Castle up again! And again! They carry Castle to safety on the other side of the ring!
But Cage is there! Cage swings, Castle ducks to ROCK Cage back! Castle gets in safe, but Cage scoops him! Cage TOSSES Castle out onto the Boys and ELIMINATES him! Fans boo but JB DROPKICKS Cage out of the ring! Cage stays on the apron, he ROCKS JB in the ropes, suplexes him, but JB slips out to waistlock! Cage elbows JB away, but JB SUPERKICKS Cage! Meanwhile, Starks is fighting off both Hardy and Ethan Page! He gets them to back off, before he DOUBLE AX HANDLES them both down! JB goes up a corner, he leaps at Cage, APRON METEORA! JB ELIMINATES Cage! Prince Nana is furious but fans are fired up as AEW goes picture in picture!
JB checks his leg as he gets in the ring. Moriarty is right on JB by pulling his hair! Moriarty UPPERCUTS JB, has him in a corner, and digs his boots in! Ethan stomps Dean while Hardy rushes Butcher. Butcher dumps Hardy but Hardy holds the ropes! Hardy fights his way back in, he CLUBS Butcher down, and Ethan applauds. The Firm give Hardy thumbs up as Hardy picks Butcher up and works to dump him out! Butcher holds on while Moriarty stomps Starks and Ethan keeps on Dean. Butcher fights off Hardy, then catches his breath leaning against ropes. Ethan makes Starks look at the camera before he CLUBS him down!
JB CLUBS Ethan! Moriarty full nelsons JB but JB elbows him away. JB digs a boot into Ethan and Starks joins in! They let off, drag Ethan up, and they work together to pick Ethan up! Ethan fights and Hardy helps Ethan for The Firm. Hardy bumps Starks off buckles again and again and again! JB fights Ethan off while Hardy shouts, “DELETE! Dean turns things around on Moriarty JB stomps Ethan then CLUBS Butcher. Dean scoops and SLAMS Moriarty while Hardy tries to throw Starks out again. But Starks drags Hardy up and over instead! Hardy dangles but so does Starks! Dynamite returns to single picture as Ethan hurries to save Hardy!
Starks fights Hardy but Ethan HOTSHOTS Starks! Starks sputters, Hardy gets in safe. Butcher fights off JB and Dean, but Dean fights him with forearms. The Firm all mug Starks, but fans rally up behind Starks. Starks fires off on Butcher while he can but Butcher ROCKS Starks! Starks runs to BLAST and ELIMINATE The Butcher! But then The Firm jumps right on him! Moriarty throws Starks out but Starks stays safe on the apron. Starks ROCKS Moriarty, JB runs in to RANA Moriarty up and out to ELIMINATE him!! But Morrissey BOOTS JB while he’s hanging on, and that ELIMINATES JB!!
Fans boo, Morrissey isn’t even really in this match! But Moriarty & Morrissey aren’t done with JB, either, as they drag him up, APRON CHOKE SLAM!! Hardy meanwhile hits Dean with a SIDE EFFECT! The refs reprimand, Moriarty and Morrissey back off, leaving Ethan, Hardy, Starks and Dean as our final four. Hardy drags Starks up to give him a SIDE EFFECT! Fans boo, but then Ethan tells Hardy to stop doing his V1 and raise Ethan’s hand in victory. But Ethan hasn’t won yet! Hardy says, “DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!” and then Ethan tells him to get Starks up. Hardy does as told, The Firm mugs Starks, and then they put him on the ropes.
Starks holds on as both Hardy & Ethan lift, but Dean makes the save! Dean fires off hands on Ethan! Hardy goes after Dean, but Dean fires off hands on Hardy! Dean UPPERCUTS Hardy but Ethan CLUBS Dean! Ethan whips Dean, Dean gets around, FLOAT-OVER DDT! Dean kips up and fans fire up! Stokely is upset but Dean drags Ethan up to throw him up and over! Ethan holds on desperately and Hardy kicks Dean! TWIST OF FATE! Ethan shouts to throw Dean out and Hardy tells Ethan to do it. Ethan says fine, he drags Dean up and tosses Dean to ELIMINATE him! Fans are thunderous as now Starks is 2v1 against The Firm!
Ethan tells Hardy to do his job and help him win. Hardy shouts, “DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!” But he BLASTS Starks! The Firm mugs Starks and fans boo hard as ever! Ethan feeds Starks to the facelock, TWIST OF- NO, Starks shoves Hardy up and out to ELIMINATE him! Ethan fires off on Starks, it’s just the two of them now! Starks wrenches and TORNADO DDTS!! Fans are thunderous as Starks is electric! He runs in but Ethan dodges the Spear! ROUNDHOUSE! Ethan snarls, he drags Starks up, fireman’s carry, but Starks RANAS Ethan out! STARKS WINS!!
Winner: Ricky Starks (#1 contender to the Dynamite Diamond Ring)
But to rain on the parade already is MJF! The AEW World Champion and #TripleB, the Big Burberry Belt, are here with a mic as fans boo hard as they can. The fans then cheer on Starks and MJF smirks. MJF tells Starks, “I’ll be with you in one second.” MJF then says, “Bryan Danielson, a little birdy told me you didn’t wanna show up tonight, and I think I know the real reason why. The real reason why is because you’re terrified of me. And I don’t blame ya, bud. After what I did to your boy, Willy Reegs, I’d be scared, too.”
Fans boo but MJF says, “Because I’m a bad, bad man. And that’s why in a week from now, I’m gonna be a FOUR-TIME, FOUR-TIME, FOUR-TIME, F-F-F-FOUR-TIME beautiful Dynamite Diamond Ring Champion. And I will still be the holder of the grandest prize of ’em all, the Triple B, baby! Now Richard, people seem to really like you around here, huh?” Fans cheer Starks on again, and MJF says “They talk about you like you’re some underutilized god of professional wrestling. And trust me, you are very talented, you really are. But you wanna know the truth, bud? Here’s the truth, Absolute.” Fans tell MJF to STFU but he just shrugs that off.
MJF says the truth is that in comparison to MJF, Starks is the Absolute drizzling sh*t! Or should MJF say, “You’re a roody poo candy ass!” After all, Starks stole literally everything else from that guy. But no offense, Richard, you’re just “a Dollar Store Dwayne.” So MJF will call Starks “The Pebble.” So here’s what happens next week in the main event of Dynamite, little Pebble. Fans chant for the “PEBBLE~! PEBBLE~!” MJF says he’s gonna put The Pebble in his pocket, hop in his brand new Porsche, because unlike all the “simple-minded humanoids” of Austin, MJF is rich. MJF will drive Pebble to the nearest body of water, take him out of his pocket, and skip “your scrawny little pigeon-toed ass all the way back to Billy Corgan’s NWA so you can wrestle on YouTube where you belong!”
Fans boo but Starks just smirks. MJF says “Facts don’t care about your feelings, Texas!” But MJF doesn’t care that Starks is Absolute, because MJF is a Generational Talent, and his Reign of Terror has only just begun. MJF soaks up the heat and then Starks pushes right past him to get a mic of his own. Fans cheer on Starks but MJF tells them all to shut up. Starks tells “Maxi Pad”, which fans now chant at MJF, that he should’ve expected a fifth-rate Roddy Piper to come out here and try to steal the spotlight. Oh~, he trashed the city! OH~! He trashed the fans! How much more shtick does MJF got? Cuz the low hanging fruit is running dry!
Starks says every week, MJF walks out here smelling like paint thinner and ass, having spray tanned his eczema to where if he took his shirt off, his back would look like he laid on an ant colony for seven hours. MJF has his crappy shoes, pants that are never ironed, a shirt that is too small, that stupid scarf, and that even dumber haircut, and he acts like he’s better than Starks?! Give us a break!! Fans are fired up hearing that! “Everything about you screams, ‘Cheap.’ The cheap suits, the cheap shoes, the cheap heat. Oh my God, and you are our new AEW Champion, huh? Well here’s the thing. With that AEW Championship comes a big responsibility that you know nothing about!
“The difference between you and me is that when these people got behind me, I gave them a reason to keep going. When they put faith in you, you let them down. When Regal put faith in you, you let him down. But brother, when it comes to Ricky, I delivery on time, every time, every night, every week, every month! And you can take your little ass to Greece for three months because oh~, you didn’t get paid enough! Oh~, you got out politicked by somebody smarter than you! But the fact remains is that I’ve been here, busting my ass. You wanna talk responsibility? Let’s talk about the fact that you avoid responsibility! You avoid any type of pressure.
“I show up to sign meet ‘n’ greets, where you, you don’t care! You just blow it off because hey! Everybody hates Max, so he has nothing to lose, right? Yeah, well, guess what, buddy? There comes a lot of responsibility when it comes to people actually liking you. And beside your nose being a lot darker than the rest of your body, me on the other hand, I live with dignity, I live with respect. You know nothing about that! When IÂ lived in my car in South Austin, guess what I was doing? I was grinding! I knew the responsibility of taking care of myself! When it comes to that woman right there, it’s MY responsibility to get her a car, to get her a house.
“And you think because you paid people, because you kissed ass, that Maxwell ‘I’m better than you,’ you can get whatever you want? Please, gimme a break.” Fans are all fired up! Starks tells MJF that next week is a BIG deal. Starks is putting up and shutting MJF up for once in his miserable, narcissistic, punk-ass little life! MJF doesn’t deserve the title but Starks does! Wrestling on YouTube? Guess what? Been there, done that, busted his ass to get here! He never needed a name to make it here, and he doesn’t need one to beat MJF’s ass! He is Ricky Starks, he is stand ten toes down right here.
Next week, Starks smacks that mole of MJF’s neck, stomps a new hole right into MJF, and then he takes that title! Fans are thunderous for Starks as he says he’s doing MJF a favor he’s never had done in his life: Starks takes the responsibility off this “little boy’s” plate. MJF LOW BLOWS Starks! Fans boo as MJF takes off the belt, the scarf, and brings out the Dynamite Diamond Ring. MJF puts the ring on, takes aim, and fans shout “F YOU MAX!” But Starks dodges to SPEAR!! Fans are THUNDEROUS as MJF falls out of his shoes and then falls out of the ring! Starks holds up the world title, will he be holding that and the Dynamite Diamond Ring at the end of Winter is Coming?
Darby Allin speaks.
“May 12th, 2021 was when I lost the TNT Championship. From that time ’til now, I feel like a lot of people have all said to me, ‘Darby Allin is being slept on. Darby Allin is forgotten about.’ Well it’s up to me to wake everyone up, and I’m gonna win that TNT Championship. I said that this crowd chants one thing, ‘Joe is gonna kill~ you.’ Well Joe, you’re gonna have to bury me with that TNT Championship, because I am not leaving Austin, Texas without it.”
Samoa Joe responds.
“Darby Allin, the curious little dead boy. I know exactly what you see when you look at me. You see a crucible that you wanna put yourself through. You see the violence that I inflict and you say to yourself, ‘That is a trial I can endure.’ Well, Darby, tonight you’re gonna learn that curiosity has a price that is about to get real expensive.” Will the Relentless Underdog put it all on the line just to get back that title? Or will he fail to dethrone the King of Pro-Wrestling Television?
Jon Moxley speaks.
“You think last week got a little outta hand? I don’t. In fact, I’m starting to really, really like The Cowboy, Hangman. Because he fell off his horse, dusted himself off, and got right back in the saddle, and he did his talking with his fists. There’s not enough of that around here. There’s too much talking. “I’m gonna be out there tonight, just to make sure there’s no sports entertainment shenanigans. And this weekend, we put the JAS in our rearview mirror for good! Hangman Page, you want another piece? You know where to find me.” The Maniac heads out, but will he be able to focus on the JAS with the Cowboy coming for him?

#TwoBeltJoe has been intimidating and brutal even when he’s had no belts. How much more vicious will he become in order to keep his throne as King of TV?
The introductions are made, the TNT title is raised, and we see if Darby wins, or even survives!
The bell rings and fans rally as Darby and Joe stare down. Fans do sing, “Joe is gonna kill~ you!” Joe steps up to Darby, daring him to do something. So Darby fires off fast hands! Joe puts Darby in a corner, but Darby dodges him to fire off hands again! Joe shoves Darby away, but Darby SHOTGUNS Joe out of the ring! Darby keeps moving to DIVE, but Joe casually moves aside and Darby crashes into railing! Joe grins as he goes back for Darby while fans lose their minds. Joe CLUBS Darby, drags him up, and sits him on the apron to then SWING him into the railing! And SWING into the apron! And back into railing!
Fans are torn but Joe soaks it all up. Joe goes back for Darby, and he tears up the floor mats! Joe drags Darby up and smacks him off the apron. Darby flounders around in a daze, but Joe drags him back up. Joe puts Darby in the ring, just to drag him out after refreshing the ring count. Joe then hits Darby with a BIG back suplex to the floor! Darby writhes, but at least that was a padded part. Joe refreshes the count himself now, and he drags Darby back up. Joe brings Darby to the bare patch now, and fans boo while the ref counts. Darby fights the lift but Joe still gets Darby up! Darby bends Joe’s fingers to get free!
Darby runs in, but Joe POWERSLAMS Darby to the bare concrete!! Joe shouts at Darby, “Do you wanna die, Darby?! HUH!?!” The ref checks Darby while AEW goes picture in picture.
Joe leaves Darby behind while he clutches an arm and his ribs. Joe returns, having refreshed the count, and he puts Darby in the ring. Joe stalks Darby, mockingly applauds, and then drags Darby up. Joe CHOPS Darby and he flops down into a corner. Joe stands on Darby’s neck, the ref counts, and Joe lets off at 4. Joe smirks as he paces around. Darby drags himself up in a corner but not very far. Joe drags Darby up but Darby throws body shots! Darby runs, but Joe CLOBBERS him with an elbow! Joe is fired up and he drags Darby into a neck wrench! Darby endures, even as Joe looms over him. Joe throws Darby down but fans rally up.
Darby flounders about and it amuses Joe. Darby kicks back, manages to kick harder, and he BOOTS Joe away! Darby stands to throw more body shots, but Joe HEADBUTTS Darby down! Joe snarls, he drags Darby back up, and he dumps Darby to the apron. Joe drags Darby up as Dynamite returns to single picture. Joe JABS Darby, and then runs him side to side to POST him! Fans lose their minds again and Joe pretends he can’t see where Darby went. Doc Sampson checks Darby and the ring count starts. Fans count along while Joe just strolls around the ring and flexes. Darby is somehow okay to continue, and he crawls his way over at 5 of 10.
Darby flounders up at 7 and in at 8! Fans cheer but Joe is annoyed. Joe asks Darby what more has to happen. Joe kicks him around, Darby gets mad. Darby SLAPS Joe and it staggers him! Darby runs, gets around, but Joe hits an atomic drop! And then runs to BOOT Darby down! Then he SENTONS! Cover, TWO!! Darby is still in this though he goes to the apron, and Joe can’t believe it! But then Joe builds speed! But Joe has to bail out as Darby slides back in! Darby PLANCHAS, but into a fireman’s carry! Darby fights free to RAM Joe into steel steps! Darby then goes up the corner for a SUPER COFFIN DROP!! Both men are down and fans are thunderous for “A E DUB! A E DUB!”
Darby staggers about, but he pushes Joe into the ring. Darby keeps moving, COFFIN- NO, the splash is caught to a SLEEPER! But Darby drops to KICK Joe away! Darby slips around, THROWBACK STUNNER!! Joe stays up so Darby hops on, CODE RED!! Cover, TWO!!! Joe survives but Darby has new life! Fans are giving a standing ovation as Joe and Darby rise. Joe goes to a corner, Darby runs in but into the URENAGE! Joe drags Darby up and puts him on the top rope. But Darby claws Joe’s face! Joe CHOPS Darby, climbs up after him, and hoists Darby up. But Darby BITES Joe’s forehead!! Joe falls back, Darby adjusts, COFFIN DROP!! Into the COQUINA CLUTCH!!!
Darby flails, he reaches out, but the sleeper and body scissors squeezes tight! Darby has a wild look in his eyes, until those eyes roll back! Darby is OUT, Joe wins!!
Winner: Samoa Joe, by submission (still AEW TNT Champion)
Darby fought his heart out, but we are still in the #TwoBeltJoe Era! Darby manages to stand up again, and he says he’s not dead! Joe has to put him down for him to stop! Darby dares Joe to keep fighting, but Joe HEADBUTTS Darby down! Joe grabs Darby’s own skateboard and he brings it over. Fans boo as Joe scares off the ref with the board! Joe then drags Darby up, puts the board down wheels up, and he puts Darby on the corner. Joe tucks Darby in! MUSCLE BUSTERÂ on the wheels!!! Darby isn’t even moving, but Joe still puts the COQUINA CLUTCH back on!! The ref reprimands, more refs rush out but HERE COMES WARDLOW!!
Wardlow rushes to the ring and Joe runs away! Fans cheer on “WARD~LOW! WARD~LOW!” as he reminds Joe that they’re not through with each other! Joe moves on to ROH Final Battle to defend his ROH World Television Championship against Juice Robinson, will Joe make it through The Booster only to find Wardlow’s World waiting for him?
Backstage interview with Kip Sabian and Orange Cassidy.
Tony Schiavone says there is a No Physicality Agreement in place as these two are here to talk. What is on Cassidy’s mind? Cassidy doesn’t know what Kip is doing, but he doesn’t need to do this. If he wants a title shot, just ask. Kip says, “How convenient, my sweet little Clementine. You wait until an unprovoked attack by Dustin Rhodes. I’m hurt. You just don’t want me at my best.” Cassidy says if Kip isn’t gonna fight this Friday on Rampage, then find someone who can. Kip ponders the idea, and heads out. Cassidy asks Schiavone if that’s a yes. Seems so. Then who will crazy Kip find as a Superbad proxy to take on the All-Atlantic Champion?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“Initially, what started out as a deliberate desecration of the legacy of ROH has now led me to become the greatest ROH Champion of all time. Oh, the irony. Claudio, you don’t have the belief that you can beat me when it counts and become the ROH World Champion once again. Isn’t that true? That is why I’m gonna beat you at Final Battle, and it is why you’re gonna have to join the Jericho Appreciation Society. But Claudio, I am telling you this right now, it is going to be the best thing for you. I am looking so forward to taking you under my wing, and most importantly, I am looking so forward to beating you at Final Battle. I’ll see you then, Claudio. All Honor The Ocho.”
Jake Hager & Daniel Garcia w/ Sammy Guevara VS Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta w/ Jon Moxley!
Speaking of the war between JAS and BCC, another battle happens here in Austin! Will “Rock Hard” Hager & the “Dragonslayer” use sports entertainment to gain the momentum before the Final Battle? Or will the Swiss Superman & Decoder use a pro-wrestling solution on their JAS problem?
The teams sort out and Yuta starts against Garcia in a preview of their ROH Pure Championship rematch set for Saturday. They circle, then Garcia tags to Hager. Hager and Yuta circle, but then Hager has everyone hold on. Because he’s brings out the purple bucket hat, and throws it to Claudio! Hager says Claudio needs to get used to wearing that. Claudio considers it, he holds the hat up, but then he PUNTS the hat to the crowd! Hopefully Austin likes that hat. Hager KNEES Yuta, CLUBS him, then back suplexes! Yuta lands on his feet, CHOPS Hager, but Hager swings. Yuta dodges but Hager CLOBBERS Yuta!
Hager drags Yuta up, bumps him off buckles and tags Garcia in. The JAS mugs Yuta with a CHOP and some stomps. The ref counts, Garcia digs his boots in but he lets off at 4. Garcia grinds his forearm into Yuta’s face, fishhooks Yuta’s nose, and he talks trash to the fans. The ref counts, Garcia lets off, and he snapmares Yuta to then mock Claudio’s cannon arms. Moxley and Claudio coach Yuta as he fights his way up. Garcia clinches but Yuta JAWBREAKERS free! Dynamite returns to single picture as both men crawl. Yuta reaches out, but Garcia drags him away! Fans fire up and Moxley joins his brothers in the club to celebrate! Tony Schiavone joins them all to interview them. He knows they just got a big win ahead of a big night on Saturday, but they have to talk about what happened at Full Gear. Here is an interview Schiavone did with William Regal a few weeks back that might explain some things.
The footage plays and Schiavone talks with his “long time friend,” Regal. Regal says it will be 30 years in January. Full Gear was unbelievable, but Schiavone wanted to know about how all that transpired. Regal told Schiavone before that “people are only going to see this if something bad happens to me. And when you’re somebody like me, and spent your life being as horrible as I have, you’re always expecting something bad to happen.” Schiavone says Regal is the Villain of Villains. Well, Regal took great exception to what MJF did to Schiavone. And MJF seems to be made about emails and this and that, so Regal just gave MJF what he wanted.
MJF is world champion now. But do you know that saying, “Be careful what you wish for?” Because now, everyone in the company will be chasing MJF. Regal realized a few months ago that the three veteran members of the Blackpool Combat Club don’t need Regal around anymore. He’s “surplus to requirements.” But he knew they wouldn’t let him go, either. But he needed to show them why they don’t need him, and why they can teach Wheeler Yuta how to become the greatest professional wrestler in the world, because they’ve all got that capability. “But you have to lead by example.”
So hopefully, and Regal knows he will, because Moxley is a very calculating man, Moxley will understand this. “The reason I did what I did, and to lead by example, was to teach you the final thing that I could ever teach you. Always stay one step ahead, and make sure you always keep eyes in the back of your head. I’m Blackpool Combat Club ’til the day I die. Fellas, it’s been emotional.” Lord William Regal’s message ends, and Schiavone says that was two weeks ago, before what MJF did. He knows they’re all a bit speechless, but does anyone have a comment?
Moxley takes the mic to say, “All I know is one thing for sure. The three men in this ring live and breathe for the sport of professional wrestling! You can call us whatever you want, but December 10th, ROH Final Battle, this war with the Jericho Appreciation Society is OVER! These men make a statement. The fans fire up hearing that from Moxley, but who will step up to his Open Challenge? And can Claudio and Yuta both take back the ROH titles to restore that honor to those championships?

Malakai says, “This company has allowed itself to be corrupted. Corrupted by people that point fingers at others while still holding the shovel in their hands that they used to dig the graves for others. And now, it is sick and it is dying. And perhaps it is time for myself and the House to… put down this corruption. Ms. Hart, what is the crime?” Julia steps out from the shadows to say, “The crime is treason.” Malakai asks “Mr. Matthews, what is the verdict?” Buddy walks out from the shadows to say, “Verdict: War.” “And Mr. King, what is the sentence?” Brody walks out to say, “It as if you throw a side of beef to a pack of wild dogs. We will tear the meat from the bone. The sentence is extermination.”
Malakai says it has been decided. “To anyone that has an issue with what we have done over the past two weeks, or anything that’s been said here, well next week Wednesday, come one, come all.” The House of Black drifts into the shadows, who will be the first to be torn apart?
AEW returns with Jamie Hayter’s sit-down interview.
Tony Schiavone sits with the undisputed AEW Women’s World Champion, and he notes that last week, she asked the question, “Why not a sit-down interview with me?” Well, here we are, and the floor is hers. Hayter says Saraya got a sit-down, cool. Toni Storm got one, alright. But not with Hayter? That baffles her. So no, Schiavone, you ask her something. What does he wanna know? Well, Schiavone notes the AEW Women’s Division has been blossoming. Great competitors are showing up, and this week on Rampage, we will see Hikaru Shida VS The Bunny for Shida’s Regina di Wave Championship. What are Hayter’s thoughts on the division?
Hayter says it is getting “interesting.” But unfortunately for everyone else, Hayter is on top now. And everyone is trying to grind their way to the top to get her title. She will do her duty as champion to be both reigning and defending. Hayter will have a very, very close look at that Regina de Wave title match on Rampage. “Thing is, it doesn’t really hold a candle to the AEW Women’s World Championship, does it?” Schiavone says nothing does, and Hayter agrees. This is AEW. But Hayter will “give one of those girls the opportunity of a lifetime. Whoever wins that match, they get to wrestle me for the AEW Women’s World Championship, if they dare.”
Schiavone says Hayter’s going to be a fighting champion and she says that’s right. She is a fighting champion, “and a bloody good one at that.” Who will be the Regina di Wave Champion after Rampage? And will they accept Hayter’s challenge to them?

The teams sort out, Jade starts against Skye. The fans rally up but Jade says no, she’s above Skye. Tag to Velvet and Velvet gets her return to action already. Velvet and Skye tie up, they go around, and Velvet wrenches to a wristlock. Skye cartwheels, wrenches and wristlocks back. Then she slips around to hook, but Velvet blocks the arm-drag. Velvet brings Skye up but Skye shifts sides to arm-drag Velvet from the other arm! Velvet staggers up and fans fire up. Skye and Velvet tie up again, Velvet headlocks but Skye snapmares free. Skye steps over an arm, and wraps Velvet up for a creative take on La Magistrol, TWO!
Velvet has a cover now, TWO! Skye has it back, ONE! Velvet has the cover again, TWO! Fans fire up for that exchange, and Velvet has to admit that was good. Velvet offers a handshake, Skye accepts, and then Skye turns to her partners. But Velvet throws Skye down by her hair! The ref reprimands, fans boo, and Velvet bumps Skye off buckles. Tag to Grey, the Baddies double whip to double CHOP! Grey covers, ONE!! Fans rally, Grey drags Skye up to whip her to a corner. Grey runs in to SHINING WIZARD! Grey then headlocks but Skye denies the bulldog to kick the legs out! Grey blocks a superkick but Skye spins through to KICK Grey down!

Tag back to Skye, Rayne snapmares but Grey scrambles away to tag in Velvet! Velvet ducks Skye’s clothesline to come back, but Skye dodges to SUPERKICK! Velvet flops to the outside and fans rally as Skye builds speed. Skye falls into the apron skirt trap! Velvet fires off on Skye! Velvet bumps Skye off buckles, tags in Grey, and Grey taunts Rayne and Kiera while Velvet uses Skye as a boxing bag! Jade also talks trash on Skye while the ref reprimands Grey and keeps Kiera back. Grey hurries over to pull Skye’s hair! The Baddies mug Skye, then Grey tags in. The Baddies double suplex Skye high and hard! Jade applauds her team while Grey covers, TWO! Grey is annoyed but she rains down fists on Skye. Grey wraps on a headlock and she grinds Skye down.
Fans rally as Skye endures. Grey stands over Skye while pulling on the hold, but Skye still fights her way up. But Grey wrangles Skye back down! Grey grinds the hold, Skye keeps her shoulders up, and fans rally again. Skye fights up a second time, she throws body shots, and then she JAWBREAKERS! Grey staggers away, tag to Velvet, and she runs to BLAST Rayne! Velvet stands Skye up to mule kick, then she covers, TWO! Dynamite returns to single picture as Velvet tells the ref something’s in her eye, while choking Skye with a knee! The ref notices the choke, she counts and Velvet steps off at 4. Velvet talks trash to Rayne, covers Skye, TWO!
Velvet drags Skye up but Skye breaks free. Velvet mule kicks, brings Skye around and- NO, Skye slips out of the Final Slice! DOUBLE LARIATS take them both down! Fans fire up as Skye and Velvet crawl. Velvet grabs Skye’s leg to keep her from her team, but Skye fights up to stand up. Velvet throws the leg down, but they both SUPERKICK! Both women go down again and fans fire up! Skye crawls, as does Velvet, hot tags to Kiera and Jade! Jade storms up, Kiera dodges and Kiera fires off forerams and CHOPS! Jade shoves back but Kiera SHOTGUNS Jade! Backstage interview with Saraya.
Tony Schiavone is with The Revolution on a very festive set. Schiavone congratulates Saraya on her return to action and the win, and she thanks him for that. Saraya is actually surprised Britt isn’t- Oh, wait, here she is. Britt says no one needs to worry now. And Britt also congratulates Saraya on “the biggest win” of her entire career. It will never happen again. Also, Britt was thinking about something Saraya mentioned to her. Something about everything being handed to her on a silver platter. But Saraya came to AEW, and her first match was a PPV match against “the biggest star in the Women’s Division.”
So here’s one more thing handed to Saraya: Tickets to the Kia Forum, for the January 11th edition of Dynamite. Saraya can be front row and watch Britt be the star that she is, or maybe she can step in the ring again. Saraya tells “Baby girl,” she would love to beat Britt again. Of course! Round two! Uh, no, Britt didn’t say it’d be against her. Saraya forgot that Britt has the AEW Women’s World Champion, Jamie Hayter, with her at all times. Except right now. But it will be a tag match, Britt & Hayter VS Saraya and whoever Saraya can find to tag with her. But good luck, Saraya will never beat Britt & Hayter.
Britt heads out and Saraya asks Schiavone if he wants to get in the ring. Britt brings Schiavone with her so Saraya accepts that she’ll have to find someone. She has a little over a month, who will The Revolution invite to her house?

You gonna lose just like Herschel Walker.” Bowens gets the mic to say, “AUSTIIIIN, TEXAAAAAS~! The Acclaimed have arrived! SCISSOR ME, DADDY ASS~!” And he does! The introductions are made, the AEW belts are raised, and we see who has what it takes to be THE BEST team in the world!
The teams sort out and fans are thunderous for both teams. Bowens and Dax start, they circle, and fans sing, “OH~ Scissor Me, Daddy~!” Bowens smirks and conducts the fans while Dax keeps his cool. They tie up, go around, and Dax puts Bowens in the corner. Tag to Cash but Bowens gets away. Cash and Bowens circle now, and we see Sonjay Dutt, Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal & Jeff Jarrett all watching backstage. Cash and Bowens tie up, Bowens headlocks but Cash turns it around. Bowens powers out but Cash runs him over. Things speed up, Cash hits a headlock takeover but Bowens headscissors. Cash kips free and hits another headlock takeover.
Bowens headscissors again, Cash kips free again, avoids a sweep and waistlocks to roll and bridge to a cover, TWO! Cash hits another headlock takeover but Bowens rolls that to a cover, TWO! Bowens and Cash stand off and fans fire up. Cash talks with Dax, then Bowens tags Caster in. Cash tags Dax, Caster swaggers and taunts Dax. They circle, tie up, and Dax headlocks. Caster powers out, Dax runs him over! Things keep moving, Caster hurdles and hip tosses! Caster then dropkicks Dax, arm-drags him, and he grinds the shoulder! Fans fire up as Caster brings Dax over. Tag to Bowens, they hand off the wrench to ELBOW BREAKER! But Dax ROCKS Bowens!
Dax bumps Bowens off buckles, CHOPS him, and fans “WOO~!” Bowens fires forearms in return, then CHOPS back! Dax CHOPS! Bowens CHOPS! Bowens fires more forearms, then whips, but Dax blocks a hip toss, only for Bowens to block a hip toss, and repeat! They go around and around, they end up on the ropes and the ref counts. Fans fire up as Dax slowly lets off, but Bowens shoves him. Cash steps in, but then so does Caster, and things are heated between the teams. The ref has them cool off, but then the brawl erupts! Austin is loving this as Cash UPPERCUTS Caster while Bowens has Dax in the corner!
Caster gets up, he dodges Cash to clothesline Cash out! Cash lands hard while Dax turns things around on Bowens. Dax ROCKS Bowens but Caster scoops him to SLAM him! Bowens goes up, SCISSOR ME TIMBERS! Fans fire up and Bowens calls to Caster. They SCISSOR FINGER! Bowens tags Caster back in, then he drags Dax up. The Acclaimed mug Dax, Caster whips but Dax ducks ‘n’ dodges then trips Caster! Dax ties Caster up, but Caster punches and BOOTS his way out of the Sharpshooter! Caster has the legs now, and he figures out the hook. Cash runs in but Bowens trips him! Bowens steps through, The Acclaimed have DOUBLE SHARPSHOOTERS!!
Fans are thunderous as FTR endures! Dax crawls, ROPEBREAK, and The Acclaimed let off. FTR regroups on the outside while Daddy Ass SCISSOR FINGERS his boys! Caster goes out to ROCK Dax, and Bowens is after Cash. Cash POSTS Bowens, Dax ROCKS Caster! Cash BOOTS Caster, Dax moves the apron skirt out of the way so Cash can bump Caster right off the edge! Then they put Caster under the ring, to CATAPULT GUILLOTINE Caster with the ring frame! Caster writhes while checking his teeth, and FTRÂ SCISSOR FINGER! Fans aren’t sure what to make of that as AEW goes picture in picture.
Cash mocks the fans with the scissor fingers while Billy checks Caster. Dax shouts at him to get back, then he puts Caster in the ring. Dax storms up on Caster and BOOTS him down! Tag to Cash, and Dax bumps Caster off Cash’s knees. Caster staggers, Cash CHOPS him! And CHOPS again! Caster flops over and Cash soaks up the cheers and jeers. Caster gest to ropes, Cash is on him with a EuroUpper! Cash flexes and then drags Caster up to snapmare. Cash clamps on a chinlock and he thrashes Caster around. Caster endures as Cash grinds him down into the mat. Caster fights up, throws body shots, but Cash shoves and RAMS into him!

Hot tag from Cash to Dax! Dax stays between The Acclaimed and he DECKS Caster! Dax takes a swing on Bowens but he avoids it, and then Dax turns around into a BIG back drop! Hot tag to Bowens! Bowens rallies on FTR with haymakers and elbows! Bowens kicks Dax low, then CLUBS and CLUBS and ELBOWS and CLUBS away on Dax! Fans fire up with Bowens and he dodges Cash to mule kick, front KICK and FAMOUSER!

Dax stays up and swings on Caster, but Caster dodges! Caster gets Dax up, but now Dax fights the flapjack! Cash CLOBBERS Bowens! Dax sunset flips, Caster rolls through and runs at Dax! Dax POSTS Caster with that! And then the BIG RIG!!! Cover, Bowens breaks it in time!!! Fans are shocked and FTR cannot believe it! “This is Awesome!” as Cash watches Bowens on the apron. Cash runs in to BLAST him to the railing! Dax drags Caster up, he hoists Caster up top then tags Cash. Dax climbs up after Caster while Cash goes to the other corner. But Bowens DECKS Dax! Cash leaps but into the ARRIVAL!! Caster adjusts, for the MIC DROPÂ FLOP!!
Cash avoids disaster, but Bowens CLOBBERS Dax! Bowens swings at Cash, but into a Gory Especial, and GORY BOMB!! Caster rolls Cash up! TWO!! Caster BOOTS Cash, CHOPS him, but Cash DISCUS LARIATS!! Cover, TWO!! Cash drags Caster up, short arm LARIAT! And then another short arm LARIAT! Cash reels Caster in, hauls him up, POWERBOMB! Jackknife, but Caster rolls it through!! THE ACCLAIMED WIN!!!

FTR is shocked! Caster & Bowens win by the skin of their teeth, but all it takes is a moment! But to show respect to Cash & Dax, they offer up the scissor fingers. FTR join in on a HUGE SCISSORING! But then from the back, the Gunn Sons, Austin & Colten, are sarcastically clapping. Austin tells FTR, “So close! Legacy, bye-bye. And Colten, the fans thought we would get involved? Haha, no. You guys are TRASH!” Colten says, “But Austin, they’ve had a pretty good year. And we don’t want it to end yet. So we got you guys some Christmas presents.”
Austin & Colten bring out a couple stockings, and Austin reads the card. “Oh, it looks like it’s written in blood. It’s from… DEM BOYS! The Briscoe Bros! Saturday, Final Battle!” But wait, there’s more! In the stockings, Austin & Colten bring out DOG COLLARS!! The Briscoes want a Double Dog Collar Tag Team Match! “Merry Christmas, b*tch!!” Jay & Mark Briscoe threw out the challenge, and FTR are all for it! But will the three-belt champions soon lose one of those in the most brutal way possible?
My Thoughts:
A pretty awesome episode for AEW here as a go-home to a lot of things going on under the AEW umbrella. For one, great battle royal to open the night. I knew Starks would win but AEW still does a great job with the chaotic nature of battle royals, and in using them to give us a lot of story at once. I bet Jungle Boy moves on from Luchasaurus & Christian Cage (for now) by taking on The Firm after that just nasty looking apron choke slam JB took from Morrissey. Plus, there was a lot going on with Matt Hardy and Ethan Page, Hardy is going to be conflicted all the way until the moment Hardy can’t take it anymore and he rebels against The Firm.
Then after the win, Starks and MJF have an amazing promo. Starks tore into MJF, but because Starks stood tall tonight, I’m pretty sure MJF retains his title and diamond ring. A bit of a shame for Starks then, but he’s proven himself a world title picture guy, so surely Starks finds his way back around during MJF’s “reign of terror.” Great promos from Darby and Joe ahead of their title match, and I don’t think I’ve seen anyone take a powerslam to bare concrete and still wrestle. I figured Joe would retain, though, as he now has Wardlow coming for him. Joe VS Juice happens at Final Battle, Joe surely retains there, too, and then I think we get Joe VS Wardlow for Holiday Bash or New Year’s Smash. Joe can try ducking Wardlow but he can’t duck him for three months to get to AEW Revolution.
Speaking of one of the things to come out of the battle royal, I like that Cassidy and Kip had an interaction. But at the same time, Kip using what happened in the battle royal as an excuse not to face Cassidy for Rampage was pretty good Heel stuff. Cassidy could be facing just about anyone with Kip able to bring anyone in, but I would love if they used this moment to bring Miro back. There’s a lot of reasons why, from Kip being the guy who brought Miro into AEW to begin with, and Miro wanting the All-Atlantic Championship from how he almost had that title in the first place. And that’d be something to make Rampage an amazing episode.
Good promos from Hayter, Saraya and Britt, and I like that Hayter wants to be a fighting champion. She helped hype up Shida VS Bunny, and now that the winner gets a title match, that’s going to be even better stuff. I think Shida wins to retain, and then Shida and Hayter can have a big match for one of the holiday episodes. Britt challenging Saraya for a match in January is pretty interesting stuff, and of course it’s a tag match so Britt doesn’t have to face Saraya 1v1. I think Saraya ends up bringing Toni Storm into that match, and there’s a way to get them all into the title scene. I would love if this led to Britt VS Hayter to give us the story they could’ve/should’ve before.
Good match from The Baddies VS Kiera, Skye & Rayne. It was rather awkward booking that Kiera tags in right as she was doing great, but someone needed to take that loss other than her. Jade stays undefeated but Kiera could be the one they’ll build into taking the TBS Championship off her. Kiera is also returning to her “Fire” look from Women of Wrestling, so that’s pretty cool. Kiera and Jade can go full Starfire VS Blackfire from the Teen Titans and that’d be a great little nod to both their nerdier sides given all of Jade’s great cosplay ring gears for her big matches. Now, sadly, Bow Wow might still be a distraction for Jade, but at least Kiera will be someone we’ve seen in AEW and not someone brand new brought in just to beat Jade.
Great promo from Moxley to call out Hangman while hyping up BCC VS JAS. And good promo from Jericho to hype up his match with Claudio. Great tag match as well, and BCC winning out makes sense. The go-home math adds up to where JAS finds a way to retain the titles. Regal having a video message that was rather “If you’re seeing this, I’m dead” trope. But I’m a little perplexed by Regal’s logic, and by the BCC more or less shrugging it off. I thought it would’ve been more effective if someone attacked during that moment but I supposed that’d be too much given BCC VS JAS has to still wrap up. Moxley VS Konosuke will be great stuff, but Moxley is surely winning, and then Hangman probably comes out to make a challenge for Winter is Coming or New Year’s Smash.
Really good promo from The House of Black, and who knows who they’ll face first, because it’s all to bide their time until Death Triangle VS The Elite settles. Then the House can go after the AEW Trios Champions for the next feud. And then we got an awesome tag team championship main event. Acclaimed VS FTR was borderline PPV level, but I’m honestly surprised The Acclaimed won. This really should’ve been a bigger moment than it was treated, because we were then just given the Ass Boys being the proxies to the Briscoes. This is sadly a spotlight on how Tony Khan isn’t able to handle both companies at once, because one, should we not have had FTR VS Gunn Sons by this point? The Gunns have been pestering FTR for so long, they should get a shot at the ROH titles!
Yes, Briscoes VS FTR Part 3 with dog collars is going to be awesome stuff that makes Final Battle even better, but c’mon. Unless FTR is dropping those belts to Briscoes, it’s going to be even worse when the Ass Boys take the titles off them. I know FTR has been busy with the other two belts of theirs, but c’mon. The Gunns were mocking FTR a couple months ago at Battle of the Belts 4, that should’ve given us a promo of the two teams arguing, an ROH tag title match happens, and there, done. Ass Boys get their shot, they miss, they move on to try the AEW World Tag titles because The Firm wants all sorts of belts.

Swerve grabs a mic, but before he can say anything, The Young Bucks make their way out here! Nicholas Jackson has the mic, and he says, “First of all, shut the F up! And show some respect for your EVPs, your Founding Fathers!” Matthew apologizes for Nick being a hothead, but he also “apologizes” to Swerve for interrupting “whatever the hell this was going to be. But I don’t think these people here wanted to listen to what you have to say anyway.”
The fans boo because that’s not true. But Matt says he knows Swerve is scheduled for a match later tonight, and well, The Bucks were in the back, and they’ve pulled a few strings. In fact, they bumped him up a bit! In fact, Swerve’s match is going to happen right here and now! Let’s get the ref out here, hopefully Swerve can move around in those sweet leather pants! Nana is upset but Swerve figured this would happen. Nick introduces Swerve’s opponent, Blake Christian! The Vanilla Babyface thanks The EVPs for this, and then he and “Big Shotty” Lee Johnson go to the ring. Will Swerve be able to win even without time to prepare?

The bell rings and The Bucks decide to watch from the stage in their directors’ chairs. Swerve and Blake approach, Blake dodges and comes back, Swerve scoops for a tilt-o-whirl but Blake lands out! Swerve ROCKS Blake, runs, but Blake grabs at the ref. This distraction lets Lee trip Swerve up! The fans boo but Blake HAMMERS away on Swerve! Blake bumps Swerve off buckles, stomps away, then digs his boot in. The ref counts, Blake lets off and gives a thumbs up to The Bucks. Blake whips, Swerve reverses, but Blake goes up and around to DROPKICK! The Bucks like this as Blake SLAPS Swerve. Blake soaks up the heat before he “licks the ice cream cone.”
But then Swerve grabs Blake in a half nelson! Blake fights and RAMS Swerve into the corner! Blake ELBOWS free, runs, but Swerve follows! Swerve handsprings over Blake’s dropdown, then dodges Blake. Swerve jumps the dropdown but Blake DROPKICKS! Swerve bails out, but Blake FOSBURY TOPES! The Bucks applaud but the fans boo. Blake brings Swerve up, bumps him off the barriers, then soaks up the heat from New Orleans. Blake whips Swerve hard into railing, refreshes the ring count, then storms back up. Blake fires forearms but the fans rally for “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Blake wrenches, but Swerve CLAWS Blake’s face!
Swerve THROWS Blake into the railing and the fans fire up! Swerve drags Blake up, fireman’s carries, but Blake slips free to POST Swerve! The ring count climbs, Blake bumps Swerve off steel steps, then puts him in the ring. Blake then has Swerve on the apron, but Swerve shoves him back! Blake ENZIGIRS, then SPEAR- NO! Swerve blocks the spear to HOTSHOT NECKBREAKER! Blake sputters, Swerve goes up the corner, FALLING UPPERCUT! The fans fire up as Swerve hits the Griddy! Swerve then KICKS Blake! Swerve tells Lee to watch himself, then he goes back to Blake. Blake BOOTS Swerve, runs up, but Swerve hip tosses!
Swerve gator rolls and deadlifts, but Blake fights free of the suplex! Blake whips, Swerve reverses, but Blake rewinds in the ropes for a STUNNER! Swerve is down, Blake goes up, and the fans boo. Blake takes another taste, then he 450- NO, he has to bail out! HOUSE CALL outta nowhere! The fans fire up and Swerve hooks Blake up, BIG PRESSURE!! Cover, Swerve wins!

The Bucks try to mess with Swerve but The Most Dangerous Man isn’t caught off guard so easily. Swerve dares The Bucks to come get some, but then Lee attacks! Lee stomps away, whips, but Swerve reverses! SOMERSAULT FLATLINER! The fans fire up again, but now The Bucks go after Swerve! They knock Swerve down, stomp him around, and the fans boo again. The Bucks sit Swerve up, for an E V P TRIGGER!! Matt mocks the chant and Nick does a horrible Griddy. But they get Swerve up, only for Nana to grab at Nick! Nick kicks Nana away, but here comes Kenny Omega! The fans fire up as the good EVP rushes the ring!
But The Bucks mug Omega 2v1! The fans boo but The Bucks soak that heat up. They kick Omega low, double whip, but Omega ducks the double lariat to send Nick into Matt! Then SNAP DRAGON SUPLEX for Nick! Nick staggers back up, into another SNAP DRAGON! Omega fires up and the fans are with him! Omega aims at Nick, BANG! But Matt drags Nick to safety! The Bucks retreat, but BREAKING NEWS from Tony Khan! Given this and previous confrontations, Dynamite will have a truly all star 8 Man Tag! Kenny Omega will be joined by Mark Briscoe, Kevin Knight & “Speedball” Mike Bailey to face The Young Bucks, Kazuchika Okada & Ricochet!
As for the present, Omega and Swerve stand tall as they have common enemies with The Bucks. They fist bump to show respect, so will the Best Bout Machine be able to count The Most Dangerous Man his most valuable ally in this fight?

The Timeless AEW Women’s World Champion had a lovely time in Hollywood to celebrate the “little sci-fi film” that is Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. But she is looking for something more of a thriller, which is why she put this open challenge out. The One True African Queen stepped up to the plate, will she hit it out of the park? Or will Toni not let this underdog story have a happy ending?
The bell rings and the fans rally up. Toni and Aminata circle, tie up, and Toni arm-drags. Toni poses, the fans sing for her, but Aminata shrugs that off. The two reset, tie up, and Toni arm-drags again. Aminata brushes that off, ties up with Toni again, and now Aminata arm-drags! Aminata poses, the fans are torn, but Toni offers a handshake. Aminata accepts, but Toni headlocks! Aminata powers out, steps over, and hits the twerk attack! Then Aminata wrangles Toni down to an ARMBAR, but Toni quickly makes it a high stack cover! TWO, and Aminata headlocks. Toni powers up and out, but Aminata runs Toni over!
The fans rally, Aminata runs but then drops down on the dropdown! Aminata gator rolls with Toni, the fans rally as Toni wrenches out, and Toni armlocks. Aminata fights up, wrenches and hits a nasty hip toss! Cover, TWO! Another cover, ONE! Toni gets away to a corner, but Aminata ROCKS her! Aminata climbs up, rains down fists, and the fans count along. Aminata goes to nine, then she BITES Toni’s forehead! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Aminata smiles. Toni checks if her head is still attached, but Aminata brings her up to THROW her into barriers! Toni crawls, Aminata stalks her, and Aminata drags Toni up for a close-up! Aminata then helps Toni take a seat, to DOUBLE CHOP her! Aminata then brings Toni to the steel steps and SMACKS her off the side. Aminata refreshes the ring count, puts Toni back in the ring, then steps in. Aminata cravats for a running snapmare, and a HIP ATTACK! Toni fires up from that! She snapmares and HIP ATTACKS! Lexy Nair is with Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, as well as Jeff & Karen Jarrett. We haven’t seen the team in quite some time, so what is next for them? Lethal says that is exactly the question. Perhaps they should ask that to Sonjay Dutt, if he ever decides to show up. Where is he? Sonjay finally arrives, Karen says, “Look who decided to grace us with his presence!” Wow, okay… Sonjay says clearly, the team needs a minute. Lexy steps aside, and Lethal says as the man who’s known Sonjay the longest, as Sonjay’s best friend, Lethal needs to be the one to ask: What the hell is Sonjay’s problem?! Where has he been?
Sonjay has been showing up late for weeks while the others are putting in the work. What has Sonjay gotten them? Nothing! If he’s supposed to be the brains of this operation, he should know that the team is tired of sitting on the sidelines! Jeff double checks: Sonjay’s the brains? Since when? Sonjay knows what Jeff said on January 1st of this year, and it’s that he wants AEW gold. They’ve gone over it over and over. But maybe he’s listening to the wrong people. Lethal says damn right. This time, Lethal’s got the ideas. The team leaves Sonjay behind and Sonjay asks Satnam if he’s going along with this.
Satnam says he can’t really disagree with the others. The One in a Billion leaves to follow the others, is Sonjay no longer part of the team?
Best Wrestler Alive Open Challenge: Max Caster VS ???
Wait, seriously? Platinum Max is 0-7 at his own challenge and he’s still out here with that document in hand. Caster says, “New Orleans! You are lookin’ live at the Best Wrestler Alive!” The fans are torn, but Caster says, “Platinum Max has been taking on all comers week in and week out, and tonight is no different. Platinum Max brings the excitement. Platinum Max brings the drama! And Platinum Max is gonna bring something very, very rare in this city, and that is a playoff-like atmosphere.” The fans boo, but Caster says c’mon, this is Playoff Palooza. Relax. But Caster knows that all the Maximaniacs in the Big Easy wanna do one thing an done thing one: Chant his name!
Here goes! “Let’s Go, Max! You’re the Best Wrestler Alive!” Fans make it “You’re the Worst Wrestler Alive!” but he doesn’t hear it. Caster says alright, he has heard better chanting in his day, but what does he expect from a city whose streets smell like horse urine? Anyway, let’s get to business! Let’s see who can survive the Best Wrestler Alive! And it’s HOLOGRAM! The fans fire up and Caster is furious. But will Caster’s losing streak coincide with Hologram’s continued win streak?
The bell rings and Caster takes a swing. Hologram dodges, SOBATS, and he whips Caster. Caster reverses, Hologram slides under the hurdle then comes back. Caster bypasses but Hologram handsprings and rolls under. Hologram then dodges again to RANA and handspring back up! The fans fire up with Hologram, and he storms up on Caster. Caster kicks low, bumps Hologram off buckles, then hushes the fans. Caster winds up, but Hologram dodges! And he jumps the kick! And then goes to the apron, slips through the corner, goes up and over, then ducks ‘n’ dodges! SPANISH FLY! The fans fire up as Caster flounders.
Caster bails out, Hologram builds speed, and Hologram DIVES! Both men hit the barriers but the fans fire up as Hologram pops right up! Things are tense right as both teams step into the ring, and they start shoving! The bell rings and it is a brawl! No need to tag, no need to hold back, and Dante DECKS Lio while Darius ROCKS Action! Then they trade, Darius CHOPS Lio and Dante ROCKS Action! Action hits back, but Dante TOSSES him out while Darius bumps Lio off buckles. Dante SMACKS Action off the apron, Darius CHOPS Lio, and Dante whips Action. Action leaps over steel steps, Lio bails out, and CRU has regrouped by the ramp. Both teams talk some trash, but then Lio & Action go looking under the ring! They bring out kendo sticks!
The fans rally up as Lio says Top Flight wanted No Disqualifications! CRU slides in, but Top Flight step on the sticks! Top Flight take the sticks and swing on CRU! Lio & Action stay back and say fine, that doesn’t change anything! New Orleans wants tables but Lio & Action use their chains as knuckle dusters! They get in, but Dante & Darius drop the sticks to block the punches! They DECK Lio, ROCK Action, then double whip. They DOUBLE ELBOW Action, then redirect Lio for an UPPERCUT, JUMP KNEE, and LARIAT! The fans fire up, Dante covers Lio, TWO! Lio bails out, but Top Flight DOUBLE CHOP then DOUBLE MONKEY FLIP!
Then Top Flight double whip to DOUBLE BACK SUPLEX! Darius covers, TWO! Action bails out and CRU regroups again. Lio tells fans to shut up, but Top Flight controls the high ground. Lio & Action go around and they chase Leila! The fans boo, Leila says back off, and Top Flight goes out to stop CRU. This is just so Lio can slide in and DIVE onto Dante! Darius BOOTS Lio, but Action BOOTS Darius! Action goes up, and he ARABIAN PRESS SAULTS Darius down! The fans cheer, CRU drags Top Flight up, and while Lio puts Darius in, Action THROWS Dante into barriers! Lio runs up to LARIAT Darius down! Cover, TWO!
Lio calls to Action, Action goes looking under the ring. Action brings out a trash can! He tosses that in for Lio, lid included. Lio grabs the kendo sticks, then he puts the trash can over Darius! CRU treat Darius like a pinata with the SMACK, SMACK, SMACK! Darius falls over, the fans boo, but CRU soaks up the heat while Collision goes picture in picture.
Leila makes sure Dante is okay, then coaches Darius, but Lio CHOKES Darius with a kendo stick! Action rains down fists at the same time, then CRU soaks up the heat. Lio CLOBBERS Darius, snap suplexes him, and Action WRECKS Dante with a dropkick! Cover, TWO! Darius toughs it out, fights back against CRU, but they mug him. CRU then double whips Darius hard into the corner! Dante is back but he gets mugged, too! Lio stomps Darius, Action steps on Dante’s neck, and Lio SMACKS Darius with a kendo stick! Action SMACKS Dante with the trash can, and Collision goes to break.
Playoff Palooza returns and Lio is up top, with Action pushing the trashcan down on Dante. But Dante kicks free of it all! Then he CHUCKS the can at Lio! Lio wobbles then flops to the mat! Dante fire sup, and he SMACKS Action with the lid! The fans fire up with Dante, and he aims at Lio. Darius grabs Lio’s leg, and Dante SMACKS Lio in the head! The fans fire up more and Leila is loving this! Dante then goes out and brings out… a black bag! He lets Darius hold that up, but Lio rolls Darius up! TWO, and Darius takes a swing! Lio blocks the shot, spins Darius around, and Action is there to kick, KICK, and ROLLING ELBOW!
Lio SUPERMAN FOREARMS and Darius falls! Dante returns, Lio snatches a leg, and Action NECKBREAKERS! Cover, TWO! Lio talks trash on the fans, then he and Action coordinate. They drag Dante up, taunt Darius, and STUNNER! Lio holds Dante down so that Action can pick up the bag. Action pours out… Mardi Gras beads? What? The fans cheer for “BEADS! BEADS! Bandido headlocks, Dralistico powers up and out, things speed up, and Dralistico bypasses the handspring to then run up. Bandido bypasses, pops Dralistico up, but Dralistico backflips off of Bandido to then tilt-o-whirl RANA! Bandido tumbles out, Dralistico storms up, but Bandido trips him! They found two guys who are highly motivated to make a name for themselves. Bill calls out The Gates of Agony to try and make a name at the Learning Tree’s expense. Fox writhes but Rush drags him back up to THROW him into more railing! Rush fires hands, then KNEE after KNEE! The ref reprimands, he backs Rush off, but Rush snarls. Rush then grins as he soaks up cheers and jeers. Rush puts Fox in the ring, snarls as he storms in and brings Fox around. Rush BODY BLOWS Fox, CHOPS him, then whips corner to corner and SPLASHES! Rush sits Fox down to stomp away! The ref reprimands, Rush backs off and he goes corner to corner, for the feint!

But Hangman says at the end of The Owen is a shot at the world title at All In, and Hangman needs that. Cash UPPERCUTS Kyle, CHOPS him, then UPPERCUTS again! Cash whips, but Kyle reverses to KICK, KICK, and KICK! Tag to Roddy, and Kyle feeds Cash to an IRISH CURSE BACKBREAKER! Cash returns to the FTR corner while Dax paces around Kyle. Dax kicks Kyle, stomps him, then paces a bit more. Kyle goes to the ropes, Dax brings him up, and Dax KICKS at Kyle’s leg! Dax snapmares Kyle, clamps on a chinlock, and he grinds Kyle down. Kyle endures, fights up, and he JAW- NO, Dax lets go before the jawbreaker, and then he clamps back on with the chinlock! Dax grinds Kyle down again, Kyle endures again, and the fans rally. Kyle fights up, fires body shots, but Dax CHOPS! Dax whips, Kyle stops himself, but then both men COLLIDE! They fall and the ref starts a standing count! Kyle and Dax crawl, Cash tags in!
Cash rushes up, and he DROPKICKS Kyle away from the Paragon corner! Dax goes out to whip Roddy hard into railing! Cash puts Kyle under the ropes and he GUILLOTINE CATAPULTS him! Kyle sputters, Cash tags Dax, and Dax drags Kyle up to CHOP! Kyle wobbles, but he ROCKS Dax! Playoff Palooza is once again single picture as Dax CHOPS Kyle! Kyle ROCKS Dax, Dax fires back, and the fans rally up! The forearms go faster and faster, but Dax ROCKS Kyle again! Dax fires a flurry, then headlocks, only for Kyle to hit a BIG back suplex! Both men are down, hot tag to Cash! Cash TOSSES Kyle out of the ring!
Cash waits on the apron, then leaps, but only hits barriers as Kyle dodges! The fans fire up as Kyle and Roddy are both crawling on the outside! Roddy reaches his corner, Dax pushes Cash back in, and then Dax tags in. Dax anchors Kyle’s leg, Kyle fights and rolls and BOOTS Dax away! Hot tag to Roddy! The fans fire up as Roddy BOOTS and ENZIGIRIS Dax, then he BOOTS and CHOPS Cash! Roddy CHOPS and CHOPS and CHOPS, then he dodges! Dax RAMS Cash, then Roddy LEAPING LARIATS Dax! Cash reels Roddy in, but Roddy BACKDROPS free! Roddy fires haymakers on Dax and the fans fire up!
Roddy stops for just a moment before he comes back with more shots! But then Dax trips Roddy, high stacks, feet on the ropes! TWO!! Roddy escapes, fireman’s carries, and GUT BUSTER DROPS! Roddy crawls to the cover, TWO!! Dax survives, Stokely coaches him up, but the fans cheer Roddy. Roddy suplexes, but his bad leg won’t let him finish that! Cash runs up, but into a clinch and IRISH CURSE BACKBREAKER! But it’s double-edged given the bad leg!! Roddy hurries to get Dax, but Dax grabs the bad leg! Dax drags Roddy to the corner and SLINGS the leg into the corner! Then shoutout to Bret Hart, HANGING FIGURE FOUR!!
The ref counts, Stokely taunts Roddy, but Dax lets go at 4. Dax puts Roddy in, grabs a leg, and then steps through, for a FIGURE FOUR!! Roddy endures, reaches out, but Dax puts as much pressure as he can on the hold! Roddy claws at the mat, but Kyle is up top! KING KONG KNEE DROP on Dax!! Roddy is free, Cash runs up, but Kyle TOSSES Cash out! And then PLANCHAS Cash down! Roddy covers Dax, TWO! Dax stays in this and Stokely coaches his guys. Roddy crawls, hot tag to Kyle! Kyle storms up to KICK Dax! And KICK! And KICK! Dax ROCKS Kyle, Kyle KICKS Dax! Dax swings, Kyle ducks! Kyle kicks, Dax ducks!

It was the hardest fought match between these two teams yet, but FTR take the win! Adam Cole hurries out here to make sure his guys are okay, but now FTR creeps up. Stokely anchors Cole, and Roddy gets a SHATTER MACHINE!! Cole sees he’s all alone now, but he dares them to bring it then! But wait! Daniel Garcia is here! And he has a crowbar! Red Death chases FTR off, so his avenging 2Point0 will have to wait. Garcia grabs a mic to tell FTR, “Two of the biggest, fakest pieces of trash I have ever met in my entire life! You guys wanna go around, you guys wanna stab people in the back? You wanna stab ME in the back?!
“The only problem is, you guys didn’t dig the knife deep enough to finish the job! So now, lemme tell you this. Now it’s your problem. Because week after week after week after week after week, I will be after you until I get my hands on you and make you pay!” The fans fire up for that! When and where will Garcia finally take the Top Guys out?
My Thoughts:
A great episode of Collision, even for this being a pre-taped and even then slightly delayed episode because of the NBA Playoffs getting in the way. Great opening with The Young Bucks “changing” the match order to try and swerve Swerve. But of course Swerve was winning, good stuff with Blake Christian. Good stuff also with Omega going out there to help Swerve against The Bucks, keeping the link of them in Team AEW going. And we’re getting quite the 8 Man Tag next week, a good tease for the possible Anarchy in the Arena match.
Very good promo from Samoa Joe to call out Moxley, and very good hype promos for Mone VS Hayter and Fletcher VS Hangman. Very good match from Toni VS Aminata, Aminata continues to look strong even in defeat. Still unsure how Aminata VS Deeb is going to go in the ROH Women’s Pure Championship tournament. Anna of course won her return match, but I’m a little surprised she ended up a target for Ford & Bayne. Anna will be a good opponent for Megan to bide her time, though, and maybe Anna gets an ally for a tag match or two.
Caster having another Open Challenge is ridiculous but I guess even he is moving past The Acclaimed, aka not going back for revenge on Bowens. Hologram gets a great win for it, and maybe Hologram will get a title story soon. Though, all the midcard titles are wrapped up in stories… Meanwhile, great Tornado Tag of Top Flight VS CRU, and there wasn’t really cheating for CRU to win since it was No Disqualification, though not caring about Leila was a pretty harsh spot. A string of signatures taking out Darius is good enough, and maybe CRU could get a title shot, if not for Hurt Syndicate being the AEW tag champions and the Sons of Texas probably going until All In: Texas.
Awesome match from Bandido VS Dralistico, but it was clear that being on just this pre-taped and even then slightly delayed episode, Bandido would retain. Rush VS Fox definitely felt like Rush taking out his frustrations over Dralistico’s loss, though. And I feel like they should definitely build to Bandido VS Rush, but that’s only if ROH gets a replacement event for Supercard of Honor now being in July. Very good promo from Heel Roppongi Vice, and I like that Rocky brought up the Conglomeration shirt as a point of disrespect. They are also clearly going to have a match with The Outrunners after that confrontation backstage, that’ll be good stuff to show what Heel RPG Vice does in the ring.
And then just an awesome main event tag match from FTR VS Roddy & Kyle. It wasn’t even really blatant cheating that won it for FTR, such as Stokely distracting and someone doing a low blow. It was just some Heel sneakiness, but mostly just the usual gritty style from both teams. And of course, good stuff with Adam Cole and Daniel Garcia showing up. Cole & Garcia VS FTR is certainly happening soon, though I can’t be sure where that goes, because it would make no sense for Garcia to turn. Unless this is also to help give Cope his return moment so that Cope & Garcia are the ones that take down Heel FTR. Even then, not sure where that goes…

The fans cheer even more as Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs make their way out, wearing those University of New Orleans Pirates colors! Samoa Joe gets himself a mic to say, “Lemme try that one one time. Make ’em say UNHHH~!” “UNHHH~!” “Nana nana!” Master P says it is about to get rowdy rowdy, ’bout it ’bout it! Joe says yes, sir! It is good to be here tonight! Because you see, The Opps have come to celebrate. The fans like the sound of that! Joe says before that, props to big brother Master P. Joe thanks P for the introductions, and for everything he does for this great city. Joe appreciates it, he knows the people appreciate.
Joe says BigBlueUNO.com, see what P is doing for the student athletes here. Master P says there’s always love for the student athletes. Master P is Coach P, there’s nothing but love for this city. But wait, the Death Riders are here to ruin the fun. Well, Marina Shafir comes out from the back, but Wheeler Yuta rushes in from the ramp! He CLOBBERS Shibata, Claudio CLOBBERS Hobbs, and Moxley uses the briefcase to CLOBBER Joe! The fans boo and Master P can’t believe it!
Claudio drags Hobbs out, Yuta keeps after Shibata, and then Hobbs is sent into steel steps! Moxley CHOKES Joe, Marina is there to hold Joe down, and then Moxley stomps Joe! The fans boo but Master P stands his ground! The fans cheer on the coach but this is still a 3v1 situation. Moxley steps to Master P, and then Master P chuckles…? Because JOE IS BACK UP! Joe has the COQUINA CLUTCH on Moxley! Shibata and Hobbs drag Yuta & Claudio from the ring to fire in return! Master P even gets some shots on Mox! The fans fire up as the tables have turned on the Death Riders! P laughs as Moxley goes out, again!
Master P says this is New Orleans, right? They want all the smoke! This about to be a problem. Go ahead, put ’em to sleep! But wait, The Elite rushes out here! And Matthew Jackson has a chair! He SMACKS Joe down to free Moxley! Master P hurries out of there now, there’s a lot more going on. The fans boo as the Death Riders turn the tables back around. The Bucks say you’re welcome, Moxley. But then Marina steps in and keeps Moxley from retaliating, And then “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE! The fans fire up as now the Realest is on the scene! Joe gets back up again, The Elite retreat now that things are getting complicated.
But then Kenny Omega makes his way out here! And The Cleaner has a chair of his own! The Elite scurry after where The Death Riders made their exit! The fans fire up as AEW International Champion stands with the World Trios Champions and the Most Dangerous Man in AEW. Then these five look to each other, and Joe grabs the mic again. “In respect to whose house it is, nice to see you again, brother. I will say this: JON MOXLEY! You wanted me, now you have me. I’m gonna beat your ass, choke you out, and ladies and gentlemen, I’ll be taking back my AEW World Championship.” The mission statement has been issued, but will all part of “Team AEW V3” be okay with that?
Backstage interview with The Patriarchy.
Renee Paquette is with Christian Cage, Kip Sabian, Mother Shayna, and the youngest ever singles champion in ROH or AEW history, the NEW ROH World Television Champion, Nick Wayne. A huge congratulations to Nick, but Christian says actually, the congratulations should all go to him. He even takes the belt from Nick! Christian says Nick would agree that if not for The Patriarch, Nick would not be standing here the champion. Because Christian is the one who forced Nick to step out of his shell, find himself, spread his wings and truly become what it is Christian’s always known Nick to be, and that’s The Prodigy.
Christian still says they’re all proud of Nick. They all celebrated. In fact, Christian and Shayna celebrated Nick’s victory extensively, later that night. Nick scowls but Christian says, “Do you see what happens, Nick, when you listen? When you shut your mouth, you open your ears, and you actually listen to me?! Good things happen, and I always tell the truth, don’t I?” Nick asks Christian if he sees what happens when you actually stick to the plan: You actually win championships. Nick tries to take his belt back, but Christian holds onto it. Christian then willingly gives it over, and says, “I love my family.”
Christian storms off, and neither Kip nor Shayna is really sure what to make of this. Is there about to be a new head of the household now that Nick’s standing up for himself?
Ricochet VS Mark Briscoe!
The One & Only is brushing off the losses that have plagued him in hopes of reaching his goal of gold in AEW. However, will he #ReachForTheSky against the Sussex County Chicken? Or can Ricochet #ManUp against the former ROH World Heavyweight Champion?
The bell rings and the fans rally up. The two circle, the fans taunt Ricochet with, “OH~ Ricochet’s Bald~!” Ricochet is annoyed, and he goes out to bond with the fan in the front row who is also bald! He claims everyone else is making fun of this guy, too! In fact, isn’t Mark bald? Why aren’t people talking Mark for being bald?! The fans chant, “You Aren’t Mark! You Aren’t Mark!” The two tie up, Ricochet powers Mark back, but Mark turns things around to corner Ricochet. The ref has Mark back off and the fans rally up. Ricochet and Mark reset, feel things out, but Ricochet goes to the ropes for defense.
The fans boo but Mark waits on Ricochet. Ricochet and Mark circle, feel things out, but again Ricochet is in a corner. The ref backs Mark off, and then Ricochet runs up! But Mark blocks a shot to fire hands in return! Mark keeps Ricochet from escaping to ROCK him again! And again! Mark whips, Ricochet reverses, and Ricochet drops down, hurdles over, but Mark follows to ROCK him with a forearm! Mark kicks low, then runs, and he BOOTS Ricochet! Ricochet staggers, Mark BOOTS him outta the ring! The fans fire up and Mark WRECKS Ricochet with a dropkick! The fans fire up more as Mark drags Ricochet up and CHOPS!
Mark stalks Ricochet, UPPERCUTS him, then keeps Ricochet from escaping into the crowd. Mark CHOPS Ricochet again! Ricochet ROCKS Mark, goes for the ring, but Mark drags him back out! Mark swings, Ricochet dodges, and Ricochet goes up the apron, Mark joins in and dares Ricochet to fight. Ricochet kicks, Mark blocks, and he spins Ricochet for a waistlock. Ricochet fights the lift, elbows free, but Mark clinches! Ricochet CLUBS away on Mark, then BOOTS him! Mark falls back, Ricochet taunts the fans and he taunts Mark. Ricochet scuffs Mark, taunts the fans, then runs, but into a DROPKICK!
The fans fire up as Ricochet falls to the floor! Mark takes aim, BANG BANG! FOLEY ELBOW DROP! The fans fire up and Mark puts Ricochet in the ring. Cover, TWO! Ricochet stays in this, but Mark CHOPS him! Mark shines up Ricochet’s head to then ROCK him with a right! Mark brings Ricochet around to suplex, but Ricochet slips free! Ricochet O’Conner Rolls, TWO! Mark kicks low, then whips Ricochet to ropes. Ricochet grabs ropes, but Mark blocks a boot! UPPERCUT! Ricochet goes to a corner, Mark runs in, but Ricochet uses the ref as a shield! Then Ricochet YANKS Mark into the ropes!
The fans boo but Ricochet brings Mark up to shove him into more ropes! Mark sputters, Ricochet builds speed, and Ricochet WRECKS Mark with a dropkick! Ricochet taunts the fans, taunts Mark, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Ricochet take a moment to catches his breath, then he storms over to Mark to CLUB him on the back! Ricochet drags Mark up to RAM him into the apron! Then Ricochet smooths his eyebrows and beard, talks trash on some fans, then takes a fans’ sign to SMACK Mark with it! Mark CHOPS Ricochet! Ricochet CHOPS Mark! Ricochet puts Mark in the ring, CLOBBERS him, then rains down fists! T he ref reprimands, the fans taunt Ricochet, and Ricochet argues with the ref before going back for Mark. Ricochet shines Mark’s head before he throws hands, and he SLAPS Mark on the head! Mark just gets mad, Ricochet SLAPS him again!
Ricochet mocks the fans for mocking his baldness, and he BOOTS Mark down! Ricochet digs his knee into Mark’s neck, then acts like that’s a cover! The ref reprimands, Ricochet “apologizes” and covers Mark properly, TWO! Mark is tougher than that, so Ricochet brings him up, only for Mark to fire hands! Mark runs, but into a DROPKICK! Ricochet struts and soaks up the heat, then he goes back to cover Mark. TWO, and Ricochet clamps onto Mark with a chinlock. Mark endures, even as Ricochet digs a knee into his back. Mark fights up, fires body shots, but Ricochet knees low! Ricochet whips Mark to a corner, but Mark goes up and out!
Ricochet runs up, Mark blocks a shot to ROCK Ricochet! Mark then climbs, leaps, but Ricochet avoids the ax handle! Mark comes back, ducks ‘n’ dodges, but then Ricochet dodges to CUTTER! Dynamite returns to single picture as Ricochet covers, TWO! Ricochet is frustrated but the fans fire up. Ricochet brushes that off to then go to the corner. Ricochet goes up, says this is for the fans. AX- atomic drop! The fans fire up as Mark dares Ricochet to take a shot. Ricochet swings, Mark dodges and Mark CHOPS! And CHOPS! And fires a flurry of forearms! Mark whips, Ricochet reverses, but Mark FLYING FOREARMS!
The fans fire up as Ricochet flounders to a corner. Mark runs up to LARIAT, and BULL- NO, Ricochet stops that, only for Mark to SLAP, SLAP, SLAP the bald head! Then FISHERMAN BUSTER! Cover, TWO! Ricochet survives but the fans rally up behind Mark. Mark drags Ricochet up, but Ricochet grabs the ropes. Mark pulls Ricochet free, but Ricochet slips down and dragon sleepers, only for Mark to drop down and victory roll! TWO, and Mark hurries, only for Ricochet to trip! Jackknife bridge, TWO! Mark brings Ricochet up to Canadian Rack, but Ricochet slips free and backslides! TWO, and Ricochet NORTHERN LIGHTS!
Ricochet rolls through and deadlifts to a BRAINBUSTER! Cover, TWO!! The fans are thunderous as Mark survives again! Ricochet keeps taunting Mark, but Mark SLAPS Ricochet! The fans fire up, Ricochet runs back in, and he RAMS Mark in the corner! Then GAMANGIRI from the apron! Ricochet springboards, but Mark catches him! EXPLODER! Cover, TWO! Ricochet is tougher than that, but Mark has more to give! Mark underhooks Ricochet, but Ricochet fights the lift! Ricochet wrenches out, but Mark fireman’s carries! ROLLING DEATH VALLEY, and then Ricochet sits up into the SLIDING LARIAT!
Mark calls his shot and the fans fire up! Mark climbs up, aims, and FROGGY- NO, Ricochet moves! Mark rolls through, Ricochet runs up, but Mark puts him on the apron! Mark blocks the gamangiri, but Ricochet blocks the haymaker to HOTSHOT! Mark falls, Ricochet springboards, 450 SPLASH! Cover, TWO!! Mark survives again and the fans are thunderous! Ricochet is in shock, and he goes to the corner. The fans chant, “You Still Suck!” and Ricochet gets mad. Mark gets up to UPPERCUT! Mark climbs up, Ricochet CLUBS away on him! Ricochet shoves Mark away, but Mark comes back to UPPERCUT!
Ricochet falls to the floor, Mark CANNONBALL TOPES! The fans fire up and Mark puts Ricochet in! Mark runs up to LARIAT!! Cover, TWO!! Ricochet barely gets an arm up, but Mark brings Ricochet around! Underhooks and- NO, Ricochet RAMS Mark into the corner! The fans cheer ‘A E DUB” for giving us this match. Ricochet runs up, Mark dodges, but Ricochet ELBOWS him down! Ricochet highs tacks, feet on ropes, TWO!! Mark has the prawn hold, AND WINS!

Ricochet couldn’t win the International Championship, he couldn’t win his share of $400,000, and now he loses to Chicken! The fans celebrate with Mark, but Ricochet’s a sore loser! He grabs a chair and JAMS Mark up with it! The fans boo, but Ricochet SMACKS Mark on the back! And SMACKS him again! The fans boo more while Mark writhes, but Ricochet brings out the GOLDEN SCISSORS! But wait! Kevin Knight rushes out here! The Jet DECKS Ricochet! He dares Ricochet to try something, then he stands on the scissors! Ricochet runs away! Kevin says he’ll cut Ricochet’s beard!
Knight then checks on Mark. Mark is alright, and the fans cheer. We even see Rock ‘n’ Roll Express here! They cheer on Mark, will Mark soon be headed for new title opportunities?
Tony Schiavone is back in the ring.
He welcomes us back to the show, but just as he’s about to begrudgingly welcome out FTR, he is interrupted by Stokely Hathaway! Big Stoke says there has been a change of plans, and he’s got this now. “They are living legends. Top guys! TEN TIME World Tag Team Champions! New Orleans, give it up for F T R!” The fans boo, but the music hits and Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler make their way out, walking with Stokely to the ring. FTR shake hands with Schiavone, and Stokely reintroduces himself. He will address the elephant in the room. FTR were suspended and fined for accidentally hitting someone, and simply touching Tony Schiavone?
That is interesting to Stokely, because there are other people who have literally set people on fire. Hangman Page has committed arson! Ricochet decides to come to work and shanks people with scissors! And should we even list all of Moxley’s crimes? Stokely will. Acts of terrorism, kidnapping, extortion, and all to FTR, yet he walks around here unpunished. That is unjust! But do not worry, that’s why Stokely is here. Stokely says that suspension will be expunged from their permanent records. Those fines will be reimbursed, based on the very public, ugly, and nasty way this has all played out.
Moving forward, if you wanna have a conversation with the Top Guys, you need to have a conversation with Stokely. As of today, Stokely Hathaway is the new agent for the greatest tag team today, F T R! Now, Schiavone, do your job. Schiavone thanks Stokely, and then holds the mic for FTR. Cash says beautiful work from Stokely. But what happened last week with Daniel Garcia was not an easy decision for them. But “Danny” gave them no choice when he made his own decision. The fans boo, Cash says please be polite, he is talking. Don’t forget, it was 2Point0 that got in FTR’s face! It was 2Point0 that came at FTR! It was 2Point0 that wanted a fight!
And from where FTR is from, when you want a fight, you better be ready to fight. And well, 2Point0 wasn’t ready for that fight. Cash has respect for Danny, though. Ricky & Robert have had some of the greatest matches with some of the greatest teams. Which do they feel is their greatest match of all time? Before Ricky or Robert can answer, Dax says it would have to be Philadelphia with the Midnight Express. And to be honest, no shade, but Midnight Express was better. The fans boo, Dax says no, hold on, tonight is going to be about Rock ‘n’ Roll Express. 40 YEARS of Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, they’re still going strong. How old are they? And again, Dax interrupts by saying that he’d have to say just on looks alone, he’d go with 109. And being 109 means they were running hard in the 80s, if you know what he means.

But this match is really only because The Jet & Speedball went a little overboard with their celebration last week, what with the $400,000 and The Opps winning the World Trios Championships. Will The Bucks be a couple of buzzkills? Or will they still throw a Superkick Party?
The teams sort out and Matt starts against Bailey. The fans cheer as the two circle. Bailey trips Matt, things speed up, and Matt stays low. Mike handsprings, then bypasses Matt to drop down and hurdle over! Matt leaps over, but Bailey ducks a kick! Matt ducks a kick, and then DOUBLE SUPERKICKSÂ hook each other! The fans fire up as the two hop around, but Nick runs in and CLOBBERS Bailey! Knight storms in but Nick kicks and CLUBS him down! The fans boo the Bucks, but they bring their opponents up. Nick is up, DRAPING DOUBLE STOMP BOMB for Knight, and Nick somersaults through to DRAPING BACKSTABBER Bailey! Cover on Knight, TWO!! Knight survives and Matt mockingly applauds. Matt says that’s good stuff. The fans rally and Knight rises, but Matt smiles. Matt brings Knight up, but Knight JAWBREAKERS free! Hot tag to Bailey! But Matt fakes him out to DDT! Renee is now with the Timeless AEW Women’s World Champion, as well as butler Luther, and notes that tonight, it is Kris Statlander VS Jamie Hayter in the Women’s Owen Hart Tournament Semifinals. Renee also notes that Toni has been watching everyone in this tournament very closely. Toni says, “And why shouldn’t I? These are the preeminent individuals in our entire industry. So ladies, good luck. Pound your flesh, rip your tits, but don’t you dare get any blood on my pearls. And remember: You are now watching your feature presentation.” Renee says speaking of feature presentations, this weekend in Hollywood, Toni will be on the red carpet for the TCM Film Festival.
Toni says yes, some new little science fiction film. Renee says it’s Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Toni says there’s not an empire big enough to strike her back. But remember, she is a lover and a fighter. She isn’t just going to spend this weekend cucking around with Ben Mankiewicz! She has an idea! Toni grabs her title and stands up on top of a chair. “Attention, slop tarts! This Saturday on Collision, I’m going to have a Championship Eliminator Performance! New Orleans fires up and sings along, “We Hurt~ People!” as Montel Vontavious Porter, Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin make their way to the ring. MVP holds up a fan’s sign that says, “WE HURT PEOPLE,” then he grabs a mic. “Attention, AEW viewing audience. This is an official announcement from The Hurt Syndicate. On behalf of the Standard of Excellence, Shelton Benjamin, and the All Mighty, Bobby Lashley, we are the Hurt Syndicate, and we hurt people.” The fans cheer that! MVP says in fact, they’re so good at that, that every single tag team they’ve faced for these AEW World Tag Team Championships haven’t been back!
MVP says they’re all home healing up. Then the Gates of Agony stepped up, and they said they like to be hurt? That’s a silly thing to say to two of the most dangerous men on the planet! But they obliged, and they hurt those two. You will not be seeing The Gates of Agony in the near future. But perhaps you will see them eventually, because Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona are hungry young lions and they will return. Now is just not their time. This time right now, MVP will hand the mic over to Lashley, because he has a few things he’d like to say. The fans cheer that! MVP passes the mic to Lashley, but then an engine starts revving.
MVP sighs as we see a fancy sports car pull into the parking lot. And out steps none other than Maxwell Jacob Friedman. MJF tells a guy to keep it running for him, then nut taps him on the way out! MJF laughs at his own prank, and even says, “What a do*che.” MJF heads to gorilla, and that means he makes his entrance! Lashley smirks because of course MJF is making his way out here. MJF has a mic to say cut his music. The fans cheer MJF on, and MJF tells the Hurt Syndicate, “Gentlemen, I know… Hell, we all know you had a good time last week, okay? And if you guys wanna have a good time for the rest of your lives, all I need are three thumbs up. That’s it.”
MJF waits, and MVP says okay, let’s try this one more time. MVP says we know how he feels, he is still thumbs up. The fans cheer for “THREE THUMBS UP! THREE THUMBS UP!” Shelton is no longer intimidated by Lashley, and he gives the thumbs up! MJF is excited, but Shelton denies him the hug. Shelton tells MJF that to make this real clear, this isn’t a thumbs up because of “a bunch of broads and a watch.” The only reason Shelton gave MJF a thumbs up is because of MVP, so don’t forget that. MJF says of course! He loves Montel! We ALL love Montel, right? The fans cheer! MJF says, “We also love our good friend, Bob!”
The fans cheer for “BOB! BOB! BOB!” and MJF says c’mon, let’s see it. Lashley holds out his hand, but MJF says hold on, hold on, he has a feeling he knows where Lashley is going with this. So please, give him one more second. MJF knows Lashley has his reservations, but if he’s in the Syndicate, then they’ll get all the money, the power, the respect, and the gold! Lashley brings a lot to the table, but with all due respect, there are things MJF brings to the table that Lashley does not. MJF knows AEW better than anybody. MJF knows how to cut corners better than anybody! And he knows how to win by any means necessary better than anybody.
If they let MJF in, they don’t just run AEW, they run professional wrestling! MVP says that’s a good point. MJF says he knows they got off on the wrong foot, but really, that’s not MJF’s fault. But, but, but…! MJF is willing to admit as Salt of the Earth, he’s been a bit prickly over the rejections. So MJF wants Lashley to know, from the bottom of his heart, two words he’s never said before… “I’m sor…” MJF trails off and the fans chant, “Say You’re Sorry!” MJF says he is, okay? Shut up! “Bob…! I’m sorry!” MJF gets it out and the fans cheer! MJF catches his breath and then Lashley holds up his hand. MJF panics and says before Lashley puts the thumb down…!
Did Lashley see the car he drove here in? Did they like that car? If Lashley gives a thumbs up, that car is his! MVP says that’s another good offer. Lashley chuckles and says he needs the keys. Of course! But they’re in the back, so we gotta take a walk. Okay, let’s go take a walk. MJF says we’re taking a walk! The fans cheer as MJF leads the way back to the parking lot. MJF tells the fans they’re as tough to look at as they’ve been lovely, so thank you. But will the keys to that incredible car be the key to MJF joining the Hurt Syndicate?

MJF has the valet hand the keys back, and MJF has them look at this beauty. Talk about horsepower! It is gorgeous! Lashley takes the keys, steps into the driver’s seat, and Shelton joins him at shotgun. MJF asks for a thumbs up, but Lashley just drives away! Thumbs… DOWN?!? MJF just got tricked! MVP has MJF calm down and says you gotta give the people what they want. MJF grits his teeth as he tells Lashley to have fun with the car… But if it isn’t gifts that will win The All Mighty over, what must MJF give him?

Renee is with the once again Anxious Millennial Cowboy, and she notes that was a huge victory for Hangman in the Owen Hart Tournament. Hangman beat the wild card, Josh Alexander, and is now set to face Kyle Fletcher next week in the semifinals held in Norfolk, Virginia. Kyle viciously attacked last week, so how is- “The MOMENT that I see Kyle Fletcher, I am going to put his ass in the ground! And it looks like somebody wants to get in here, so get your ass in here.” MJF steps in and says, “Howdy, Cowboy. How you been? You look great. By the way, I wanted to compliment you on your new haircut. I love that it makes it look like you met your wife at a family reunion.”
Hangman says MJF hasn’t changed anything about himself since he was 12 years old. But Hangman is in the middle of an interview, so unless MJF has something of substance to add, he should just get in his car and- Oh…! Right, we just saw what happened there. MJF sarcastically laughs that off, and says it’s “Joke Man” Adam Page. Here’s a joke for him: Guy enters the Owen Hart Tournament, only to then watch MJF stroll on in through the backdoor with the Hurt Syndicate to reclaim what is rightfully his and become a TWO-TIME AEW World Champion. Hangman says like MJF knows anything about the backdoor.
MJF’s whole plan is to use Hurt Syndicate, but how does that get him an inch closer to the world title? But maybe after Hangman beat MJF’s ass at Revolution, MJF had to figure something out because he knows he can’t win matches, and he knows he can’t hang with Hangman. MJF says wow, first of all, of course Hangman doesn’t understand his intentions with The Hurt Syndicate, Hangman’s an idiot. Second of all, Hangman wants to act high and might because he beat MJF, well check the math, they’re 1-1. If they ever do face off again, MJF sends Seabiscuit to the glue factory where he belongs.
And third of all, the personal favorite for MJF: Hangman thinks he’s a badass for being in the Owen Hart Cup? Hangman is a great wrestler, MJF will not take that away from him. But if Hangman does manage to get to the finals, he’ll just do what he does best, and that’s choke. MJF leaves, Hangman shouts he has something for MJF to choke on! Dumbass! Hangman storms off, but will he make it through the semifinals? Or will the Aussie Arrow make sure Hangman can’t go Double or Nothing?

Callis is giddy as he goes back to commentary. Alexander then storms in and he stomps Ospreay around. Alexander stalks Ospreay, CHOPS him, then Konosuke CHOKES Ospreay in the corner! The ref reprimands, but Alexander scoops and SLAMS Osprey! Tag to Konosuke and he goes up to SUPER SENTON! Cover, TWO! Konosuke drags Ospreay up, reels him in, and Ospreay endures the COBRA TWIST! The ref checks on Ospreay, but that lets Konosuke link up with Alexander!
The ref looks and sees what they’re up to, so Alexander lets go. Konosuke scoops Ospreay for a BACKBREAKER! Tag to Alexander, he stalks Ospreay, and he steps on Ospreay’s foot to keep him from Brody. Alexander then stomps the ankle! Alexander grabs a leg, twists Ospreay’s ankle, then he JAMS the leg up! Ospreay hobbles away, but he still CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! But Alexander dropkicks the bad leg! Ospreay falls in a heap, and Alexander fishhooks him into sitting up! Alexander CLUBS Ospreay in the chest, soaks up the heat, and then he stalks Ospreay to ropes. Konosuke is there to CHOKE Ospreay again!
The ref reprimands, Konosuke stops, and Alexander argues with the ref. Konosuke HOTSHOTS Ospreay! Ospreay staggers away, the ref keeps Brody back, and Alexander drags Ospreay up to UPPERCUT! Ospreay staggers to a corner, Alexander UPPERCUTS him again! Ospreay falls, Alexander clamps on a chinlock! Dynamite returns to single picture and the fans rally up. Ospreay fights up to fire body shots, then he reaches out to Brody. The fans rally, Alexander holds Ospreay back, but Ospreay fires a forearm! Ospreay still reaches out, but Alexander still holds on! Ospreay fires another forearm, and another, but Alexander ducks the shot!
Alexander waistlocks but Ospreay fights the lift. Ospreay backs Alexander down but Konosuke tags in. Konosuke taunts Brody, then runs up, but Ospreay BOOTS him! Ospreay ELBOWS Alexander, then ROCKS Konosuke, and repeat! The fans rally, but Konosuke kicks low. Konosuke & Alexander double whip, but Ospreay handsprings to DOUBLE PELE! The fans fire up and Ospreay crawls, hot tag to Brody! Brody BOOTS Konosuke, then LARIATS Alexander! Brody SPLASHES Konosuke in a corner, then he BACKDROPS Alexander! Brody storms up on Konosuke, whips, but Konosuke reverses and kicks low.
The fans chant “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” while Konosuke runs, ducks ‘n ‘dodges, but the SOUTHPAW LARIAT finds him! The fans fire up while Konosuke bails out. Brody roars, and builds speed!? Brody DIVES and takes out Alexander & Konosuke! The fans fire up as Brody then drags them both up, brings them around the way, and makes them sit in the same chair. Alexander is on Konosuke’s lap, and Brody CHOPS Alexander! Seems like Konosuke still felt the force of it through Alexander. Brody gets space, and New Orleans barks along. Brody runs back in, and he CROSSBODIES them against the barriers!
Brody puts Konosuke in the ring, then runs corner to corner to LARIAT! Ospreay tags in and Brody fireman’s carries! DOUBLE STOMP into a DEATH VALLEY BACKBREAKER! Cover, Alexander breaks it in time! Brody TOSSES Alexander, but Alexander drags him out! Brody runs up, but he’s sent into the steel steps! Ospreay lines up a shot, but Konosuke reels him in! Ospreay fights Blue Thunder with elbows, then he ROCKS Konosuke with forearm after forearm! But an ALPHA ELBOW hits back! Konosuke runs, but into the TIGER WALL KICK! ENZIGIRI! Ospreay whips Konosuke, Konosuke reverses, but Ospreay handsprings again, but into BLUE THUNDER BOMB!! Cover, TWO!!
The fans are thunderous as Ospreay survives! Konosuke and Ospreay are both down, and a standing count begins. Archer coaches Alexander while Ospreay and Konosuke crawl. New Orleans tells off Callis himself, but we get hot tags to Alexander and Brody! Alexander BOOTS Brody, BOOTS him again, then he blocks a chop to wrench, KICK, ROCK, and reel Brody in! But Brody’s too much to lift! Brody wrenches out, takes a swing, but Alexander dodges. Brody SWATS a lariat, CHOPS and ROLLING ELBOWS, then he LARIATS point blank! Cover, TWO!! Alexander survives but Brody just snarls. The fans bark it up as Brody storms around.
Brody runs corner to corner, CANNONBALL! Cover, but Archer distracts the ref! Brody is furious, and he BLASTS Archer off the apron! But an ALPHA ELBOW finds him! Ospreay runs up, Konosuke dodges, kicks and whips, but Ospreay dodges to DIVE onto Archer! Ospreay hurries back up, he ROCKS Konosuke, and then PIP PIP- NO, Konosuke dodges and Alexander ROCKS Ospreay with a haymaker! Alexander reels Ospreay in, POWERBOMB! Then Konosuke runs at Brody, HELLUVA KICK! GERMAN SUPLEX!! Alexander is there, he GERMAN SUPLEXES Brody now! Alexander holds on, ripcords, DOUBLE ROLLING ELBOW!!
Brody wobbles, and then roars! So Alexander & Konosuke DOUBLE ROLLING ELBOWÂ again!! Cover, TWO?!?! The fans are thunderous, but Alexander drags Brody up. Konosuke runs in, POWER DRIVE KNEE!! And then Alexander hooks Brody up! Konosuke helps out, C4 SPIKE!! Cover, Don Callis Family wins!

Give a few assists to Don Callis and Lance Archer, but the family that cheats together wins together! And then they beat up on Brody just because! Ospreay slides in, he fires off on Konosuke, but Alexander is after him! Now Ospreay is getting mugged, and they feed Ospreay to Archer’s CHOKE SLAM!! Archer scares the ref off, and here comes Kyle Fletcher! The Protostar always loves seeing his former friend get beat up, and he joins the Don Callis Family in the ring. Kyle taunts Ospreay, but here comes Hangman! He promised it would be on sight, so Kyle dares The Cowboy to bring it! Hangman storms up, but TRENT & ROCKY ATTACK!
The fans boo as Roppongi Vice were lurking in the shadows for a moment like this! They beat up on Hangman, then send him in just for Kyle. But Hangman fires hands! Kyle panics, but RPG Vice CLOBBER Hangman! The fans boo as the Don Callis Family beats up on Hangman 6v1! They get Hangman up so Kyle can suplex and BRAINBUSTER!! Kyle is ready, but will he shoot down the Cowboy to get one more match with Ospreay? Or will the Buckshot be Hangman’s ace in the hole?

2025 Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Semifinal Round: Kris Statlander VS Jamie Hayter!
These two have been waiting for this one, as have we all! A former AEW TBS Champion and a former AEW Women’s World Champion are each one step away from the Owen Hart Cup, but only one of them can move on. Who gets to go Double or Nothing with The CEO, Mercedes Mone?
The bell rings and the fans fire up as the two circle. They tie up, go around, and then break. They circle more, tie up again, and Kris arm-drags Jamie. Jamie gets up in a huff, runs up, but Kris drops down. Kris gets up but Jamie runs her over! Kris is right back up, and runs up again. Jamie dodges, Kris dodges, and then Kris runs Jamie over! Jamie is already getting annoyed as she stands back up. The two stare down, then they both throw forearms! And the both BOOT! And then they both SHOULDER TACKLE! They both fall, and then they both kip up! The fans cheer as these two see they’re very much the other’s equal.
Kris and Jamie dust themselves off, then Kris goes to run, only for Jamie to reel her in by her tights! Jamie waistlocks and GERMAN SUPLEXES! Kris goes to a corner, Jamie runs up, METEORA! Jamie snapmares Kris, goes up the corner, then leaps to MISSILE DROPKICK! The fans fire up, Jamie hurries to cover, TWO! Kris stays in this and Jamie is rather amused. Jamie bumps Kris off buckles, stomps her, then whips. Kris reverses, wrenches, ROCKS, and then runs to go up the corner! Jamie catches Kris first! Kris uses that to wheelbarrow Jamie into buckles! Kris then runs corner to corner to UPPERCUT!
Kris runs side to side, but Jamie dumps her out! Kris ROCKS Jamie, drags her out to the apron, but Jamie ROCKS Kris! Kris ROCKS Jamie, then gets under the boot to TRIP Jamie! Jamie flops to the floor, and Kris takes aim. The fans fire up for the MOONSAULT, but Jamie moves! Kris crashes on the floor, and Jamie BOOTS her down! The fans fire up, Jamie dabs the sweat off her face and then throws the wristband at Kris while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
The ref says to get this in the ring but Jamie leaves Kris behind. Kris drags herself up into the ring, but Jamie is right on her with a snap suplex! Kris writhes, but Jamie CLUBS her down. Jamie stalks Kris to the ropes, then bumps her off buckles. Jamie stands on Kris in the corner, but the ref counts. Jamie steps off, shrugs like she didn’t know Kris was there, and then she kicks away. But Kris fires forearms and CHOPS in return! Kris CHOPS Jamie in the corner, goes corner to corner, but Jamie ELBOWS her down! Kris sputters, but Jamie pushes her to a cover, TWO! Kris is still in this but Jamie stays on her with a facelock.
Jamie tries but Kris fights the suplex, throws body shots, then Kris suplexes Jamie! Cover, TWO! Kris argues the count but the ref defends it. Jamie JAWBREAKERS Kris! Jamie then drags Kris up to snap suplex! Cover, TWO! Jamie clamps onto Kris with a chinlock! Jamie grinds Kris down, and holds on as Kris fights around. Kris reaches out, but Jamie hooks an arm with her leg! Kris fights free of that, stands up and throws body shots. Kris JAWBREAKERS Jamie, then goes up, up, and FLYING BACK ELBOW! Both women are down and the fans rally as Dynamite returns to single picture.
New Orleans is torn as Kris and Jamie stand to fire forearms back and forth! Kris fires a flurry, but Jamie fires back! Kris PELES, then runs! But Jamie follows to ELBOW Kris! Jamie runs but Kris follows to ROCK her! Kris runs again, but Jamie kicks low! Kris ducks the enzigiri! DEADLIFT GERMAN SUPLEX! Cover, TWO! Jamie stays in this, but Kris clamps on with a DRAGON SLEEPER! Jamie endures as Kris also has the body scissors! The fans rally as Jamie pushes back to a cover, TWO! Kris still holds on, and she keeps the body scissors while shifting to a standard SLEEPER! Jamie endures, then fire elbows at the legs!
Kris CLUBS Jamie, clamps back on, but Jamie rolls back to a cover, TWO!! Jamie has a headscissor neck lock! The fans fire up as Jamie squeezes tight! Kris endures, turns over, so Jamie goes to the ropes! Jamie uses the ropes for leverage, only for Kris to Chair Lift her up! And SLAM! The fans fire up and Kris waits on Jamie to rise. Jamie sits up, into a BLINDSIDE METEORA!! Cover, TWO!! Jamie survives but Kris is not deterred. Kris hauls Jamie up, tucks her in, but Jamie victory rolls! TWO!! Kris rolls away, both women stand, and Jamie ducks a discus! But then Kris ducks the discus, runs back in, but into a SUPERKICK!
But Kris is up to ROUNDHOUSE! Jamie ENZIGIRIS! Jamie roars, runs, but into a POP-UP POWERBOMB!! High stack, but then a roll through, and a reel in! Underhooks, but Jamie wrenches out to clinch! HAYTBREAKER!! Both women are down again and the fans fire back up! The fans cheer on “Women’s Wrestling!” as Jamie and Kris stir. Jamie crawls over and has a cover, TWO!! Kris still has something in the tank and Jamie is frustrated. Jamie kisses the bicep and drags Kris up. HAYTER- NO, Kris ducks the lariat to then lift Jamie up, SPIN OUT BOMB! Kris hurries to a corner, climbs, and 450 SPLASHES!! Cover, TWO!!!
Jamie survives and Kris is furious! The fans rally, Kris seethes and hurries back up. But Jamie anchors a foot! Kris CLUBS Jamie, Jamie UPPERCUTS Kris! And again, and again, and again! But Kris CLUBS Jamie in return! Jamie ROCKS Kris, climbs up, but Kris fights the suplex! Kris fires body shots, then changes the grip to shove Jamie down. Kris leaps, but into a HAYTERADE!!! Jamie drags Kris back up, powers up that arm, and the fans fire up for the HAYTERADE!!! Cover, JAMIE WINS!!
Winner: Jamie Hayter, by pinfall (advances to Double or Nothing)
The fans cheer on Jamie, but here comes The “C E O! C E O!” Mercedes Mone struts her way out, all her belts on her person. She points to the Owen Hart Cup trophy and smiles. Jamie says no no no, that’s gonna be hers. These two are just one month away from going Double or Nothing, who wins it all in Arizona?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite here, with strong build in all the stories that they’ve got going right now. Great opening segment with Schiavone bringing out Master P, Master P bringing out The Opps, and then all that causing The Death Riders to show up. Good brawl there, and that was fun having Master P laugh at Moxley being choked out. But then good move having The Elite show up, that works for the story of The Elite still trying to join forces with The Death Riders. But then Swerve and Omega showing up was also good. With the news that Moxley VS Joe is now for Beach Break, I am very certain we’re getting Stadium Stampede/Anarchy in the Arena for Double or Nothing. Seeing The Opps, Omega & Swerve together, that’s just a natural Team AEW for this time around.
Similarly, very good promo stuff with Schiavone inviting out FTR. I’m a little surprised Stokely Hathaway is back as FTR’s manager, but at least he’s getting to do something. Very good promo from FTR, Passive Aggressive Dax is pretty funny. And then FTR turning on Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, that was wild. The Paragon showing up was good stuff, and we’ll get a great match of FTR VS Roddy & Kyle. Also, I guess it really is official, Cole-Roddy-Kyle are The Paragon, and “The Kingdom” returns to just being Taven & Bennett. And while prerecorded so that they can play it between NBA games on Saturday, Playoff Palooza looks like a lot of fun.
Ricochet VS Mark Briscoe was a great match that wasn’t quite so outta-nowhere, given last week’s big money 8 Man Tag. Good win for Mark, but of course Ricochet attacked him. Kevin Knight making the save was good, and it helped give us the finish to Knight’s tag match against The Bucks. That tag match was bordering on PPV quality, but it makes sense Ricochet would cheat Knight as payback. Knight VS Ricochet definitely needs to happen next week before Knight has to go back to Japan for Best of the Super Juniors. And in the meantime, perhaps Ricochet and Bailey can feud as a holdover until Knight gets back in the Summer.
Great promo from MVP to put over the Gates of Agony, and great stuff with MJF and the Hurt Syndicate. I could just tell Lashley was gonna get the better of MJF with that car deal. This is definitely going to boil down to how Lashley might actually want a world title shot, making the whole thing of MJF joining a moot point. Great promo between MJF and Hangman, one of them will definitely cost the other something, and it is definitely more likely MJF costs Hangman against Kyle or Ospreay in the tournament. Another great tag match tonight with Ospreay & Brody VS Konosuke & Alexander.
The Don Callis Family of course cheated to get their win, and also great beatdown stuff after. Hangman wanting after Kyle was good stuff, and with the Don Callis Family standing tall, there’s a very big chance that it ends up Ospreay VS Hangman for Double or Nothing. For one, as I just said, MJF can cost Hangman. Also, we’ve gotten plenty of Ospreay VS Fletcher lately, we can give them time before they fight again. Great promo from Toni to issue an open challenge and have it immediately answered by Aminata. Maybe they’re doing this now that they went and changed the ROH PPV schedule, and that kinda screws up when and where Aminata VS Deeb was going to happen…
Then great main event of Kris VS Jamie. I am legit surprised it was Jamie winning to face Mone, I really thought Kris was going to make that push to the top. Mone VS Jamie will still be awesome, and it’d still be great to see Toni VS Jamie again after all this time, but it still feels like Toni VS Mone ends up the All In match, even though I still argue we should be getting Mone VS Athena so that Athena can be on the big PPV in her hometown. Though, I guess if Supercard of Honor is going to be in Texas, that’s supposed to make things up to The Fallen Goddess when she deserves the bigger stage.
