Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

Schiavone says it’s great to be back in LA and the Kia Forum, but he takes no pleasure in welcoming our guest: ADAM COLE, BAYBAY!! Fans are thunderous as the King of Harts, the Undisputed One, makes his return! And of course, fans join in on the “BOOM!” and on the “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY!” Cole gets the mic and says, “Who’s ready for story time with Adam Cole, baybay? Seriously, you guys have no idea how badly I wanted to say that today. So I’ve been thinking all day, literally all day, about what exactly I was going to say when I came out here. And I think the best way to describe this conversation we’re about to have as this is a Good News, Bad News type situation.”

Fans already don’t like the sound of that, but he wants to start with the good news. After everything that’s gone on these past few months, he already has a better appreciation for both pro-wrestling and for his life. “When I was nine years old, all I ever wanted to do was be a professional wrestler. And I’ve gotten to do some really awesome stuff. One of them being, I’m here in AEW, the best pro-wrestling company on the planet, here in Los Angeles!” Fans do like the sound of that!

Cole continues to say that it also made him realize how much he missed getting to be here. “Because the past few months, I was really, really banged up, everybody.” Cole had a torn up shoulder, and more importantly, he had two back-to-back, very serious head injuries. To be honest, Cole was really scared. He was seeing doctors multiple times a week, having MRIs done to him, had headaches and dizzy spells. If he was in a car for more than 15 minutes, sometimes he felt like he needed to, and then sometimes did, vomit.

But the worst part was the sleep. Cole would lay there, emotions all over the place, and he couldn’t figure out why. He’d get up at 3, 4 in the morning, pace around, heart racing, and Britt would ask him what was wrong. Cole would look at her and say, with a tear in his eyes, “I don’t know what’s happening to me.” And the thing is, none of the fans really knew what was going on, either, but so many of them were there for him. Fans cheer, and Cole says every single day, he’d read comments like, “I miss Adam Cole. I hope Adam Cole is recovering alright. I don’t care if Adam Cole never wrestles again, I just want him to be okay.” And that meant the world to Cole.

Fans cheer again, and Cole continues with, “Because pro-wrestling, at the end of the day, pro-wrestling is a give and take situation. We give you everything that we have, the fights of our lives, and in return, you show us appreciation. I had given you nothing, NOTHING, for six months, but you were still there for me. For that, I am eternally grateful, thank you.” Fans cheer even more, and chant “ADAM COLE! ADAM COLE!” Cole says here is the bad news, and fans boo. “The thing is, the bad news is not for me.” Fans like the twist! “The bad news is for the AEW locker room, because Adam Cole is back! I’m not going anywhere!”

Cole says his career was over, he thought for sure he was finished. Instead, he stands before us today, saying, “No way, I ain’t done yet!” He has been one of the best damn wrestlers on the planet for 15 YEARS, and he will not stop! He will not stop until he is THE very best! He’s accomplished a lot of amazing things, but to get real, he hasn’t even scratched the surface. Cole wants everyone, both in the building and at home, to remember this day. “This is the day where a new Adam Cole is born! An Adam Cole who will make a promise. One day, no matter how long it takes, one man will be at the top of the mountain here in AEW. And Los Angeles, his name…” is ADAM COLE, BAYBAY!!

The Acclaimed speak.

Max Caster says, “Yo! Listen! This Friday on Rampage, the Acclaimed is in Hollywood, and we’re getting one of best honors you could get, we’re going to be among some of the biggest names in show biz history. We’re talking about Roseanne Barr! Alec Baldwin! And of course, ya boi, Donald Trump!” Anthony Bowens isn’t so sure, but Billy Gunn asks, “How about my boy, Johnny Depp?” Yeah! Bowens has them both stop now. What they’re talking about is that the Hollywood Walk of Fame Board of Directors have unanimously voted for The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass to receive stars on the THE Walk of Fame! These scissors will live in concrete forever! EVERYONE! LOVES! THE ACCLAIMED!!

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy & Danhausen.

Renee Paquette is with the All-Atlantic Champion and his Very Nice, Very Evil Friend. Plus, fresh off a Golden Globes win, it’s Paul Walter Hauser! Walter Hauser is happy to see Renee again, he loved being on her podcast. And he’s also a big AEW fan, so he brought “the hardware.” Renee wants to see it, but Walter says let’s wait for Rampage. Danhausen asks “Walterhausen” what is in the box. Uh, it’s Walter Hauser. Ser, not sen. Yeah, sure, same difference. Yeah, maybe they’re related. But Cassidy, Walter Hauser’s a big fan, he just wants to know if everything is cool between Cassidy and the Best Friends, Trent & Chuck.

Cassidy says yeah, they’re good. And here they are! Trent & Chuck confirm, Best Friends are still Best Friends. Then we’ll see everyone on Rampage! Hands in! Walterhausen adds on, so on three, RAMPAGE! But if Best Friends are still united, what will be next for them all in 2023?

Bryan Danielson VS Konosuke Takeshita!

The American Dragon vows to get his shot at the AEW World Championship and Maxwell Jacob Friedman, but that means becoming #1 contender. Bryan has to have a singles win streak from now until February 8th, can he do it? Or will the Future ruin Bryan’s future of facing MJF right out the gate?

But wait! Before Bryan makes his entrance, MJF makes his way out! He has a mic, of course, and he says, “LA, I know you’re not bright here, but Daddy’s holding the microphone, okay? Thanks.” Fans boo but MJF says, “Konnichiwa, bud! What’s up? How’s it going? Look, look. I’m not gonna lie to ya, I’ve been watching on The Twitter and The Reddit, and these people seem to really think you’re a big deal, huh?” Fans cheer, Konosuke IS a big deal. MJF says he’s super proud of Konosuke and isn’t gonna lie, he hasn’t seen a lick of Konosuke’s stuff.

But hey, hey! Don’t take that personally, Konosuke. Whenever MJF watches the shows back, he fast-forwards to the only part that matters, and you’re looking at him. Fans are torn but MJF wants to get this right. Konosuke’s name is a bit tricky for him. His name is “Take a sh*t a?” Is that right? Well, do him a favor, Konosuke, and don’t take one in your pants tonight, MJF really needs you on this one. Understand? Konosuke tells MJF in Japanese, and LA cheers! MJF says, “Wow. And I thought Danielson was a bad public speaker.” MJF has a “pro-tip” as the world champ, and don’t listen to the people on this. “But around here, we speak American, okay?”

Konosuke tells MJF what he said in English: “KISS! MY! ASS!!” Fans cheer and MJF shoves Konosuke, but Konosuke shoves back! MJF gets even more flustered and tells the ref to back Konosuke up and out of the ring! Out of the ring or he faces a fine! Fans boo, MJF is the one interrupting the schedule! Konosuke stays back and fans taunt “MAXI-PAD! MAXI-PAD!” MJF says they can laugh all the want, LA is still a bunch of nerds! And hold on, there’s a rumor going on he has to address. People are saying MJF is afraid of Bryan, and afraid of that one hour Ironman match. MJF is afraid he can’t last an hour. Is that right? “YES!” “Yeah?” “YES!” “Yeah?”

Well then how about LA does MJF a favor, and go ask your mamas and your sisters and your skank girlfriends just how long MJF can last! MJF swivels the hips but fans boo, not believing he scored with any of those choices. MJF says he is the REAL Ironman of pro-wrestling. Unlike that nerd, Bryan Danielson, MJF is all about “pinning shoulders on mats and banging rats!” Fans boo but MJF says, “Oh, I’m sorry. Did I offend you people here? Or even worse, is it because you people actually like Bryan Danielson? Yes, you like Bryan Danielson? That makes sense, because much like Bryan, you’re all irrelevant!

“Speaking of irrelevant, we’ve got some celebrities in the house tonight. Ladies and gentlemen, Ken Jeong’s here.” Fans cheer for Ken but MJF says, “You may remember Ken from his role of Mr. Chow from The Hangover. Yeah. What was that, Ken, like 20 years ago? No no! But it’s okay, right? We can still see your hit comedy series on ABC, Dr. Ken! Oh wait, that’s right, we can’t. Because it got canceled!” MJF laughs at Ken, and then “Speaking of people I wish would be canceled, Freddie Prinz Jr. is in the house tonight.” Fans cheer Freddie and even chant his name. MJF can’t believe that. But okay, fans may remember him from She’s All That.

Not that MJF doesn’t, he was born in 1996, and unlike all of the fans, he’s not a dinosaur. The only thing he remembers Freddie from is when he played a supporting role to a CGI talking dog! So Freddie, with all due respect, you ain’t nothing more than a Scooby Dooby Douchebag! Freddie is actually surprised to hear that one. MJF says,
“The bottom line is: all your heroes suck! Danielson’s letting you down tonight, there will be NO one hour Ironman match. Not over my dead body. And do you know why? It’s because my name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman. And I’m better than you, and-” Bryan makes his entrance!

Fans fire up as Bryan rushes the ring, and MJF runs away! And runs fast! MJF says it doesn’t matter, he still has the belt and Bryan isn’t making it past week one! Konosuke returns, the bell rings, and Konosuke rushes in! Bryan avoids the knee, but Konosuke avoids the roundhouse! Konosuke headlocks, Bryan powers out, but Konosuke runs him over. Things speed up, Bryan hurdles, but Konosuke waistlocks. Bryan bucks Konosuke, runs, but Konosuke scoops him, only for Bryan to turn Blue Thunder into a headlock takeover! And CHOPS him to the corner! And KICKS and KICKS and KICKS!

Bryan runs corner to corner, to DROPKICK! Bryan keeps moving, another DROPKICK! Bryan goes again, but runs into the BLUE THUNDER BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Bryan survives and fans fire up, but Konosuke keeps his focus. Fans rally for Konosuke as he sits Bryan up. Konosuke CHOPS! Bryan nods, and Konosuke sits him up again. CHOP! And CHOP! Bryan goes down! Fans rally as Konosuke has Bryan in a corner. Konosuke whips Bryan corner to corner, but Bryan goes up and over! Bryan keeps moving, ducks ‘n’ dodges, to LEAPING LARIATS! But Konosuke staggers up to the ropes! Fans rally as Bryan stands up, a bloody spot on his shoulder.

Bryan CHOPS Konosuke, but Konosuke CHOPS back! Fans “WOO~” and the CHOPS continue, then AEW goes picture in picture.

Konosuke fires up! He CHOPS Bryan, but now Bryan fires up! Bryan CHOPS, Konosuke CHOPS, and Bryan has to sit down! Fans give a standing ovation as Bryan fires himself back up. Konosuke eggs Bryan on, and Bryan KICKS! And KICKS, and KICKS! Bryan whips Konosuke to ropes, but Konosuke KICKS Bryan back! Konosuke wins, but Bryan TOSSES him up and out! Renee says we’ve seen Rock Hard Robinson all over the world, winning championships and making a name for himself, but now he is here in AEW. What is it that Robinson is looking to accomplish? Juice says she has known him a long, long time, and has never known him to be a thumb-twiddler. He isn’t a complacent kind of guy, so he’s here for a few reasons. The Full Metal Warrior was snubbed by Saraya, but is she here to still back Saraya up? Britt POSTS Storm, slides into the ring, and Saraya sends Hayter into railing!

Britt watches Shida closely as she keeps on Storm. Saraya keeps on Hayter, brings her around and smacks her off the steps, but Britt fires off on Storm in the corner as AEW goes picture in picture.

Britt lets off Storm to run up and stomp a mudhole into her. Hayter knocks Saray adown and hurries back to her corner. Shida checks on Saraya while Britt hits a BUTTERFLY SUPLEX! Cover, TWO! Britt clamps onto Storm with a chinlock and grinds her down. Storm endures, fights up, but Britt bumps Storm off buckles. Tag to Hayter, and Hayter bumps Storm off buckles, then does it again! Hayter runs to BLAST Saraya, then she smirks as she swaggers over to Storm. Hayter SNAP JACKHAMMERS! Cover, TWO! Hayter is annoyed but she snatches Storm’s studded collar to put it on herself. Hayter taunts Storm while stomping her around.

Hayter drags Storm up but Storm CHOPS! Hayter CHOPS and Storm staggers to a corner while AEW goes to break.

Dynamite returns and Hayter has Storm’s legs. Storm kicks away at Hayter, BOOTS her to the corner, hot tags to Britt and Saraya! Saraya rallies on Britt, gives her short arm LARIAT after short arm LARIAT! Britt gets around to waistlock but Saraya fires off elbows to get free. Saraya whips Britt to a corner, runs in to KNEE Britt, and then she hits the KNIGHT CAP! Cover, TWO!! Britt survives Saraya’s take on the Lightning Spiral, but Saraya shouts, “This is MY house!” But Britt KICKS Saraya from below! Saraya drags Britt up and reels her in, but Britt wrenches out to kick low! Britt Alabama Lifts but Saraya sunset flips!

Britt rolls through but Saraya KNEES her again! Cover, TWO! Saraya is annoyed but she drags Britt up. Saraya whips Britt to the corner, runs in to back elbow, then tags Storm. Storm runs to BLAST Hayter, then runs in to HIP ATTACK Britt! Storm then reels Britt in for a TORNADO DDT! Cover, TWO! Fans rally, Storm ties up the legs and steps over for the TEXAS CLOVERLEAF! Only for Hayter to BOOT her right down! The ref reprimands but fans cheer. Hayter and Britt drag Storm to their corner, Britt stands Storm up and throws forearms. Hayter hops in, she and Britt stomp away, and then they hoist Storm up top.

Storm fights but that’s 2v1. Hayter pulls Storm’s hair, Britt climbs up, and Hayter BLASTS Saraya! Britt brings Storm up, SUPER AIR RAID CRASH!! Cover, TWO!!! Storm survives and Britt can’t believe it! Britt drags Storm up, tags Hayter, and fans fire up for the ripcord DOUBLE ROLLNGI ELBOW! And then feed to the HAYTE BREAKER! Cover, Saraya breaks it! Saraya gets mugged and thrown out, then Hayter drags Storm up. Ripcord, but Storm gets around to SNAP GERMAN! Then the reel in for the STORM ZERO PILEDRIVER! Cover, Britt breaks it! Saraya returns to CLUB Britt! Saraya drags Britt up but Britt throws body shots.

Fans rally, Britt CLUBS Saraya then spins her around, underhooks for the BUTTERFLY SLAM! But Storm SUPERKICKS Britt! Storm drags Hayter up, throws forearms, but Hayter throws them back! They brawl back and forth, both holding onto wrist control! The forearms fly faster and faster, then at the same time! DOUBLE FOREARMS knock them both down! Fans are thunderous, and Rebel is distracting the ref! Shida slides her kendo stick into the ring?! Britt brags it to SMACK Storm!! Hayter ripcords for the HAYTERADE!! Cover, Britt & Hayter win!

Winners: Britt Baker & Jamie Hayter, by pinfall

Shida realizes she just made a huge mistake! She meant to help Storm, not Britt and Hayter! Will Shida be able to make up for it? Or will The Pillar & The Killer continue to dominate the AEW Women’s Division?

Eddie Kingston & Ortiz speak.

The Mad King looks at “Monkey” and says, “There, we got the match. Are you happy? You gonna trust me now? We got the match Friday.” Ortiz responds, “I’m gonna trust you? Are you gonna trust me?” Eddie says Ortiz is only questioning him because of the weird riddles from the House of Black. Ortiz says, “Oh, I’m sorry, let me speak in riddles so maybe you’ll actually listen.” Eddie says to focus on the fact they have the match. They’ll get this done, Eddie is tired of those stooges, and he’s getting real tired of Ortiz’s attitude. Remember who he is, and where you know him from. But that’s Ortiz’s point!

Eddie just wants Ortiz to be there Friday. “Question me then, man. Play with me, watch.” Will Malakai Black & Brody King tear down Eddie & Ortiz by letting them tear themselves apart?

The Jericho Appreciation Society is here!

LA sings along with Judas as The Wizard leads the Spanish God, the Dragonslayer, Cool Hand Ange, Daddy Magic, Big Hurt, and TayJay out, all in matching golden tuxedo jackets and black slacks. And the slacks are tearaway to reveal black leather pants! Angelo Parker gets on the mic and he wants LA to take a good, long look! Now only is he having one hell of a hair day, he says the entire JAS looks good. Start calling LA their town, because they are the Saints of Los Angeles! Matt Menard gets the mic now to say, “Do you wanna know what makes Daddy Magic’s nipples hard? How about the fact that last week, Jake Hager powerbombed Ricky Starks through a table!?”

Jericho gets the mic to say, “You can boo all you want, but it’s true. This was one of the biggest weeks in the Jericho Appreciation Society’s history, man! Just a couple nights ago, we invaded PWG Battle of Los Angeles! The surprise appearance heard around the wrestling world, man~! And on Rampage, Friday night, Anna & Tay are gonna kick Ruby’s and Willow’s ass in a Street Fight!” Tay starts shouting about how she IS the Street Fight, and Jericho agrees! Tay Melo IS the Street Fight!! But most importantly of all, like Menard said, Starks got powerbombed through a table, and Action Andretti was sent back to the minor leagues. The JAS wins again, the Starks Experiment is OVER!

Fans boo but here comes Ricky! The Absolute is in LA and the fans are fired up! Because he also brought along Action Andretti! Starks has a mic to say, “Well, well, well. I’m looking at a group full of a bunch of idiots who couldn’t get the job done last week when you put me through a table, because guess what? Ya boy, Stroke Daddy, is standing tall right now!” Jericho says Starks might be standing tall, but what’s with Oliver Twist here? “Hello, sir, may I have some more~?” Go back to the minor leagues, Andretti! Action says, “Chris, SHUT! THE HELL! UP!! Before I come take that baseball bat and shove it up your ass!”

Daniel Garcia steps up, and he tells Action to never disrespect Jericho like that! Oh, sorry, Daniel. Action didn’t know his new babysitter, Sammy Guevara, gave you permission to speak! Sammy wants to say something but Garcia won’t let him. Action asks “Daniel” if he’s sure Sammy is a good guy to lead you by example. Sammy can’t even keep control over his own wife! Sammy throws off his jacket but Hager holds him back. Action also says, “He sure can’t keep control over where his wife’s hands go.” Because last week, those hands were right in between ACTION’S legs! Technically, that’s true. But Hager and Jericho both have to keep Sammy back now.

Garcia shouts at Action that he just told him to shut his Chia Pet looking ass up! Garcia says he remembers when he was just like Action: a young, naïve pro-wrestler. But now that Garcia has a sports entertainer like Jericho by his side, Garcia’s on top of the world! Sammy hugs Garcia but Garcia pushes him back. Starks says to put a muzzle on the little boy right now so Starks can talk to a certain someone. This isn’t about “Count Suckula,” and it isn’t about “JAS hole one and JAS hole two.” No. Do us a favor, Chris, the time ain’t on you. Move aside for Starks. Fans echo “JAS HOLE!” and that upsets Tay most of all.

Starks tells Jericho to move his wide body to the side! DO IT!! Jericho moves, and Starks is talking to “Gilligan” and his stupid hat! Hager realizes Starks means him. Starks tells the “6’5″ dumb, purple, helmet wearing idiot” that he has a lot to say! What’s funny is that Hager was a top collegiate athlete, but he gets with Jericho and now he’s the village idiot. That right there is a shame. And despite being with Jericho, Hager still has that dumb lisp! So here’s what Starks offers Hager: next week, Mr. Absolute Starks VS Jake Hager on Dynamite! That match is already official, but Hager responds, “I LIKE THIS HAT!!” Fans actually cheer that.

Hager tells “Lil’ Ricky” that he wears lots of hats. One of them says “professional undefeated MMA fighter.” And Hager knows Starks has balls, he can see them through those white pants. But Hager is twice Starks’ size, so he’ll slap Starks’ face OFF his face! Starks says that’s all good and well, but here’s the thing! Starks will do Hager one better and help him with that speech impediment! Next week, Hager gets in the ring with someone who is ABSOLUTE! Fans fire up for the coming showdown, will Starks be the one to put the hurt on the Big Hurt?

AEW World Trios Championships Best of 7 Series, Match 7 – Escalara de la Muerte: Death Triangle VS The Elite!

This all started with The Bastard using a hammer to retain the titles at Full Gear, and it has truly escalated ever since! But now, only the team that rises above the other can be THE AEW World Trios Champion! Will Pac & The Lucha Brothers hold onto the gold? Or will Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks complete the Elite Comeback?

The introductions are made, the belts hang high over head, and one way or another, this comes to an end in the City of Angels!

The bell rings, fans are thunderous already, and the teams stare down. Don Callis in on commentary while Alex Abrahantes, Michael Nakazawa and Brandon Cutler are all buzzing ringside. The Elite fire off the first shots! Omega throws out Pac while Matt has Fenix and Nick has Penta! Nick throws Penta out but Fenix throws Matt out. Fenix goes after Nick, whips him to a corner, but Nick goes up and out, then avoids the Tiger Feint! Nick fires off forearms on Fenix, but Pac and Omega both slide in. Pac and Omega both BOOT Nick and Fenix off the apron! Omega and Pac then fire off with forearms! Fans fire up, Penta hurries in and he hits a BACKSTABBER on Omega!

But Matt slides in and he hits a BACKSTABBER on Pac! Now Matt and Penta fire off hands! Callis would like to point out that Omega is on a 17 hour jetlag given his trip back from Japan. Penta SOBATS Matt, reels him in, “CERO! MIEDO!” But Matt slips out of the package piledriver and shoves Penta to a corner! Matt runs in but Penta pops him up to SUPERKICK! Omega SLAM DUNKS Penta, but Fenix MISSILE DROPKICKS Omega! Nick runs in, ducks ‘n’ dodges to roll and FACEUBSTER! But Pac whips, only for Nick to reverse! Pac ends up on the apron, Nick runs in, but Penta catches him for a wheelbarrow! Pac slingshots in, WHEELBARROW FACEBUSTER for Nick!

Fenix springboards to FROG SPLASH! Fans fire up while Nick flops out of the ring! Death Triangle coordinates and Penta goes out with Pac to fetch a ladder. But Omega runs in, only for them to lift the ladder up and over! Then they back up to RAM Omega with it! But then Fenix DIVES to wipe out Omega at the ramp! Only for Matt to WRECK Penta & Pac with their own ladder! Matt holds the ropes, Nick builds speed to FLY! Direct hit on Fenix and Pac and fans fire up again! The Bucks get the ladder match in, they stomp Pac, then Matt sets up the ladder. Fenix hurries in after Matt to CLUB him while Nick has Penta.

Fenix whips but Matt wheelbarrows to VICTORY ROLL FACEBUSTER! Matt climbs, but Penta yanks him off the ladder and Pac kicks Matt low. They double whip Matt t ropes, Matt holds those ropes and he tosses Pac out! Matt runs to hit a DESTROYER on Penta! Matt climbs up, but Fenix springboards to FLYING ARM-DRAG Matt off the ladder!! Matt writhes and Fenix hurries up top, only for Omega to yank him down! SNAP DRAGON! Penta keeps Omega from climbing, but Omega switches to SNAP DRAGON! Omega tips the ladder over and he starts up the Terminator Drums! LA drums along, Omega runs, but Pac MISSILE DROPKICKS him down!

Pac looms over Omega, drags him up, and suplexes, only for Omega to slip out! SNAP DRAGON! Fans fire up as Pac flops out, and the drums start up again. Omega builds speed again to FLY! BUT HE CRASHES THROUGH A TABLE!! Fans lose their minds but then Matt is up top! SUPER CROSSBODY onto Pac THROUGH A TABLE!! Fans are losing their minds all over again while AEW goes picture in picture!

Fenix hurries to check on Pac while Nakazawa checks Omega. Fenix shoves Nakazawa away, CHOKES Omega, then rains down fists! Nick meanwhile sets up the ladder in a corner. Penta gets in the ring, he and Nick stare down. Nick shoves Penta but Penta SLAPS Nick! We get some replays of the table spots, Fenix and Penta mug Nick in a corner. Penta CHOPS Nick, then Fenix KICKS Nick in the leg! They double whip Nick but he stops himself from hitting the ladder. Nick knuckle locks Fenix, CHOPS him, then hurdles Penta to go up and up and “LUCHA LIBRE~!” FLYING DOUBLE TAKEDOWN! Nick fires up, but he turns around into DOUBLE SUPERKICKS!

Penta drags Nick back up, he and Fenix double whip Nick onto the ladder! Nick flops out of the ring as Omega returns, but the Lucha Brothers DOUBLE SUPERKICK him now! Omega falls down but Fenix sets the ladder in place against his butt! Penta is up top, “CERO! MIEDO!” FULL METAL QUE PASO!! Omega clutches his tailbone! Penta fires up and LA fires up with him. Penta moves the one ladder aside, Matt crawls into the ring, but Penta conducts the LA fans singing “CERO! MIEDO!” Penta KICKS Matt in the leg! Matt hobbles around, Penta rallies the fans, and then Penta KICKS the leg again!

Matt fumes as he hobbles to a corner, but Penta KICKS and CHOPS and CHOPS again! Matt BOOTS Fenix away, but Penta gets a shorter ladder in the ring. Matt grabs at the ladder, they tug-o-war over it, and Dynamite returns to single picture as Matt powers Penta to a corner. Nick runs in to SHINING WIZARD Penta! Fenix runs in but Nick tosses him up and out! Penta is stuck in the corner, Nick runs up the ladder to then springboard TORNILLO to take out Fenix! Penta gets free and he mule kicks Matt! Penta sets the ladder against the bottom rope, then he reels Matt in. “CERO! MIEDO!” But Matt slips out of the suplex to shove Penta, and back drop him onto the ladder!

Fans lose their minds while Penta spasms and writhes! Matt drags Penta up, sets him on the ladder, and Nick is there on the corner. Matt lifts the ladder to lift Nick, but Penta kicks Matt away! Fenix goes up after Nick to SUPER SETINER Nick onto the ladder!! Nick clutches his thighs and tailbone and fans lose their minds all over again! Cutler and Nakazawa check on Nick, fans hope these teams “FIGHT FOREVER!” But this has to end somehow, and Pac gets in. Pac grabs at the taller ladder but so does Omega from the outside. Pac STOMPS the ladder closed to crush Omega’s hand! And again, and again!

Omega gets his hand free, Pac drags the ladder over and stands it up. Pac climbs but Omega gets in to Electric Chair Lift! But Pac fights the tuck to POISON-RANA! Matt runs in but Pac side steps, SNAP GERMAN! Penta and Fenix have Omega, “CERO! MIEDO!” DOUBLE STOMP FEAR FACTOR!! Fenix then TORNILLOS out onto Nick!! Fans are thunderous as Penta hobbles to the ladder. Penta climbs, but Matt yanks him down to ROCK him with haymakers. Pac CLUBS Matt, Penta folds the ladder and leans it in  a corner. Pac brings Matt over, he and Penta reel him in, but Nick saves Matt from the suplex!

Nick mule kicks Pac’s leg out, then Matt does the same to Penta’s leg. Nick then SUPERKICKS Pac and Matt then SUPERKICKS Penta! Then they DOUBLE SUPERKICK Pac!! Fans fire up as Fenix springboards in, but into a NORTHERN LIGHTS! Matt starts up the Polar Express! And he NORTHERN LIGHTS Fenix onto the ladder! Nick has Penta on a table, then he climbs the corner! Nick says “YOU’RE DEAD!” 450 SPLASH THROUGH THE TABLE!! Winners: The Elite (win the series 4-3NEW AEW World Trios Champions)

Not only was this an Elite Comeback from their time away, this was an epic comeback from being down 3-1!! With this series now behind them, what is next for the TWO-TIME AEW World Trios Champions?

My Thoughts:

An amazing Dynamite here, especially with a very fired up LA crowd. I will say that compared to most other times, this week felt like it had the right balance of talking and matches, in that the balance favored matches. The promos were still good, such as Cassidy confirming that Best Friends are just fine. And because they’re in LA, they of course find a way to get a celebrity involved, but I wonder who it’d be if Walker Hauser didn’t win a Golden Globe. Or maybe it would still be him and he’d just have no Golden Globe to show off. We also got a good promo from Juice to call out Darby, and that will be a great match. I still think we need to see Orange VS Juice, though.

We also got a very good promo out of JAS, Starks and Andretti. Starks had a lot of great insults, especially “Count Suckula” for Jericho, but I wonder if we got a right hand not knowing the left hand blah blah blah moment as Starks challenge Hager to a match that was already confirmed. But either way, Starks VS Hager fits what I was hoping for in Starks going through the rest of the JAS before a rematch with Jericho. Good promo from Eddie and Ortiz to play u their distrust while confirming their match with The House of Black. That is going to be good stuff, and I can’t wait to see if there is a turn and who it is that turns.

And of course, it was great to see Adam Cole back! He set up a good swerve in making it seem like bad news was that he was still going to be gone or even have to retire, but great to hear he will be back in action very soon. Who knows what story he’ll get into, but it’ll just be good to see him in the ring again. Cole is definitely a top title scene guy, but he obviously will have to wait his turn. MJF had another good promo as he gets involved with Bryan VS Konosuke. Bryan VS Konosuke was an awesome match, and fans were even getting behind Konosuke through the course of the match. Bryan of course wins, he wasn’t going to fail the first time out. And while Bryan winning all the way to February 8th seems a given and you’d think that’s boring, it won’t be if he gives us bangers like this one every single week.

Moxley VS Hangman was also a banger and one hell of an opener. They turned LA into Lariat City, a fitting story beat given the concussion from the King Kong Lariat at Full Gear. And Hangman winning here was great stuff, it essentially ties things at 1-1. Moxley apparently getting checked for his own concussion might be more kayfabe than shoot, as it’d be quite the way to turn the tables on Mox. They might be able to use that as a reason to delay Moxley VS Hangman 3 until Revolution, and maybe that ends up the Unsanctioned Match I thought we were getting here? It’d be the best way to blow off this story and have both men go their separate ways.

The Firm VS Jungle Hook was really good stuff, and of course everyone loved seeing Hook throw Morrissey up and over. Jungle Hook wins as I expected, but I still expect 1v1 showdowns. Hell, it might not even be JB VS Big Bill, it might now be Big Bill VS Hook for the FTW Championship at some point. Great tag match out of Britt & Hayter VS Saraya & Storm, too, and I like how Shida got involved in a slightly different way than I expected. It might’ve been too obvious to have Shida attack Saraya, so I like that Shida tried to help Saraya & Storm sneak the win, only for it to backfire. Saraya will likely confront Shida about it and that leads us to their match as opposed to an outright turn.

And of course, an amazing main event with Escalara de la Muerte. Those back-to-back table spots with Omega’s “missed” Terminator tope and then Matt hitting Pac with a crossbody were both so good, and they actually gave us some rather safe ladder spots for how rough they all looked. Well, Nick being sent at the ladder via a Super Steiner was risky, as I thought he was going to crack his legs on the side of it. But in the end, The Elite winning is the right move, given that their first reign ended because of suspension stemming from #BrawlOut #Scrumgate, something that never should’ve happened. Who knows who will be their first challengers, but it’ll all be great stuff either way.

My Score: 9.3/10

Hangman Page is here!

The Cowboy is in Huntsville, Alabama, and using a crutch? It was concerning at the end of last week’s Dynamite that Hangman was clutching his ankle near the end of the Six Man Tag match. Hangman hops up the steel steps to step into the ring, and he gets the mic. “This probably doesn’t look like a promising start to the speech, huh, guys? I feel like I might say it too much but it’s important to me, so I will say it. When AEW started, it was a new endeavor for my friends, but for me, it was something different. It was a goal. It was an opportunity to rise to people’s expectations, to make the most of the world laid in front of me.

“And I’d like to think that I did that, and I’d like to think that winning the world championship in 2021…” The fans start to cheer, and Hangman says he likes to think that doing that was the biggest accomplishment of his career. That’s why it hurts so much to have that opportunity in front of him again, and have this happen. Fans don’t want it to be true but Hangman says, “When AEW decided that at Revolution, the world championship would be decided in a Three Way match, I said it was BS. And I meant it. And I suggested that maybe the championship should be decided in a singles match, but it looks like I had the wrong two competitors.”

Fans boo, hoping this isn’t true, but Hangman says he won’t apologize to Swerve or Joe. But he will tell us the truth, because he’s always honest with us, that this Sunday at Revolution, Hangman will not be able to compete. The fans are upset, but then “Whose house?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Prince Nana leads the way and does his dance as Swerve Strickland makes his entrance. The Realest goes down the ramp, to the ring, and already has a mic of his own. Fans cheer and chant, then Swerve says, “These last six months, man, we’ve been to war. I tried to kill you, you tried to kill me, I might’ve crossed the line a couple times…

“But I didn’t really expect this to happen. I targeted you because of everything you accomplished here in AEW. And to say that I didn’t have the utmost respect of that would just be a flat out lie. But you suffered this unfortunate fate, and the funny thing about fate, you can’t escape it. And you can’t stop destiny. And my destiny awaits me this Sunday at Revolution as I go on to become the AEW World Champion.” But then here comes said champion, Samoa Joe! The fans chant for “JOE! JOE! JOE!” as he stands on stage in a suit, mic in hand and belt on his shoulder. “Destiny? You boys are out here talking about destiny?

“Now what do we have here? It seems two of the most bitter enemies ever out here are trying to hug it out, huh?” Joe says a lot of lies are being told so he will correct them with a few truths. First, week after week, these two have stared daggers at each other, thinking that the destiny of this championship was tearing the other man’s throat out. That was only because they both avoided making eye contact with Joe and realized who the real man around here is. Second, though Joe doesn’t quite understand this dynamic, whether or not Hangman is in the match. Or should we call him “Hop Along?”

Joe keeps hearing about how Hangman and Swerve are young, hungry contenders. But that’s ridiculous! They’re both battle tested, battle hardened warriors in that ring, and there’s nothing new about them. They’re hungry but accomplished. The fans cheer that. But what they both need to realize is that the only reason they’re hungry is because Joe is starving their asses! As long as Joe has the title, there won’t be no more meals come dinner time! So he will explain to them who Joe is, and who they should really be worried about! He is Samoa Joe, the AEW World Champion, and whether it is one or both of them, Joe will whoop both their asses.

Swerve tells Joe to hold on so he can explain just who the hell Swerve is! “I’m someone that went from unemployed to headlining PPVs! I’m someone that went from being a Cruiserweight to going after the world championship! But make no mistake about it, I am that same man that broke into a wrestling school and left an 18 year old laying in a bloody heap! I am that same man that trespassed in another man’s home and threatened his infant son! I’ll do whatever it takes to become world champion! I’m not only a career maker, I am a career changer! And after I take that championship from you, Joe, you’re not gonna what to do with yourself.

“Hell, you might wanna go back to commentary wearing a poncho again. Who knows.” Joe seethes as Swerve says he is on the verge of making history! And this Sunday at Revolution, Swerve WILL become AEW World Champion! Whose House? “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Whose House?! “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” WHOSE HOUSE?! HANGMAN ATTACKS WITH THE CRUTCH!! He was faking all along!? Hangman shouts for Swerve to get up and Joe grins! Hangman CLOBBERS Swerve with the crutch now! Hangman says Swerve will NEVER have that championship! Hangman tells Joe the same, that Swerve won’t take the title, HANGMAN will!

Fans are torn but Joe understands now that it is still a Triple Threat. But did Hangman just switch it up and use that crutch to take Swerve out of the running? Or will Hangman regret swerving a man as dangerous as Swerve?

The Young Bucks arrive backstage.

Matthew Jackson is in a black suit, Nicholas is in pink. They’re ready to “clock in” for Dynamite, and they step inside the building. Renee Paquette is right there and she welcomes them to Huntsville. Tonight is Sting’s final Dynamite ahead of their match for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at Revolution. Last time she saw them, it seemed they were having an interesting business meeting with Ric Flair. Can they give any details about that? Well, it went great, and that is all Nick will say. Matt brings up Sting and asks if Renee has seen him yet. Not yet, just them.

Oh, okay, then since this is Sting’s final Dynamite appearance, The Bucks are just dying to see him and thank him for all his contributions to this company. And mostly, they want to… “conduct his exit interview.” Matt & Nick bring out the white baseball bats, the same ones they used to beat down Sting, Darby and Sting’s two sons just a few weeks ago. Matt says have a great night, let’s have a killer show. Cameraman, keep with them, so everyone can see what the Bucks are gonna do for Sting. The Bucks continue deeper backstage, will they make it so Sting doesn’t even make it to his retirement match?

Six Man Tag: Eddie Kingston & FTR VS Blackpool Combat Club!

Before all of their separate showdowns on Sunday, The Mad King teams with the Top Guys to take on Bryan Danielson, Jon Moxley & Claudio Castagnoli. Things have always been personal between Eddie and the American Dragon, and things have been getting more intense between Dax & Cash against the Maniac and the Swiss Superman. Just how wild will it get here, only days away from Revolution?

The trios sort out and Bryan starts against Eddie as a preview of their Continental Crown Championship match. The two feel things out as the fans rally up, and the two test the waters. The fans rally behind Eddie but Bryan is simply amused. Then Bryan tags out to Claudio! Well Eddie doesn’t like him much, either! Claudio RAMS Eddie, Eddie stays up and dares him to try again. Claudio runs, they RAM shoulders again, so now Eddie runs. Eddie RAMS Claudio, Claudio rebounds to RAM Eddie! Eddie rebounds but into an UPPERCUT! Eddie goes to a corner, Claudio runs in, but Eddie BOOTS him away!

Eddie goes up the corner and he FLYING SHOULDER TACKLES Claudio down! The fans fire up while Claudio scrambles up, and Eddie just stares him down. Eddie tags Dax, Claudio tags Bryan. They circle, feel things out, and tie up. Dax headlocks, hits the takeover, but Bryan headscissors. Dax kips free, the two stand off and the fans rally up. The two circle, tie up, and Dax headlocks. Bryan powers up and out but Dax runs him over! Things speed up, Dax counters hip toss with a hip toss! But Bryan boots him away! Bryan scoops to SLAM Dax, but Dax boots Bryan away! Dax headlocks for the takeover, Bryan headscissors, but Dax kips free.

The fans cheer the newest standoff and the two back down. Bryan tags Moxley and fans fire up! Dax tags Cash, these two circle. Moxley SLAPS, Cash SLAPS, and now they fire forearms! Moxley puts Cash in a corner to throw hands but Cash turns it around to body shot, CHOP and UPPERCUT! And repeat! CHOP, UPPERCUT, but Moxley turns things around to CHOP and forearm! Backstage interview with Chris Jericho.

Renee Paquette is with The Ocho, or rather the Lionheart, as tonight, Jericho will face Atlantis Jr. of CMLL. There is a ton of history here between Jericho and the Atlantis lucha family, what is he expecting tonight? Jericho says 30 years ago, when he first started wrestling in Mexico, he got thrown into the deep end very quickly. Legendary booker, Paco Alonso wanted Jericho to become a big time player fast. So he put Jericho with legends like Negro Casas, Silver King, Texano, El Dandy, and Atlantis Sr. Atlantis was both a great opponent and a great partner, a mentor and a friend.

So when AEW started working with CMLL, Jericho requested this match with Atlantis Jr. so he could repay the favor. Jericho wants to teach Atlantis Jr. something about the wrestling business from this end. So tonight, Jericho will show Atlantis Jr. some things he’s never seen before, and have a lesson in violence! Tonight, Jericho shows what “Corazon de Leon” can do. And in Spanish, Jericho tells Atlantis Jr. that tonight, there won’t be any holding back. Will El Ocho prove he is numero uno?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

AEW returns from break and Schiavone says tonight, it is official. There are great wrestlers all around the world, and many are coming here to AEW. But none is bigger, better or more exciting. Here on Dynamite, welcome to AEW full time, Will Ospreay! The fans fire up as the Aerial Assassin, having moved on from NJPW, is truly All Elite! Ospreay goes to the ring, high-fiving fans, and he even hugs Schiavone. Schiavone says the dynamic Ospreay is All Elite, and it’s great to have him here! Ospreay says, “Oi oi, Huntsville, how’re you doing, you cheeky shanks?” The fans cheer and Ospreay says he just wanted to come out here to say thanks for the reception.

Ospreay reminds us that back in November, he asked them to give him some time to finish his obligations with NJPW. His obligations are done! So he took himself to Barbados for a little holiday, got pissed with the Misses, it was great! And then he flew over here, lost his bags, but it’s alright! They found ’em so it’s all good. He came here in his track suit, like Kermit the Frog on leg day, and most importantly, he is here in front of all the fans to say he is here for full-time work! He’s All Elite, bruv! The fans fire up for that one! Ospreay says hold on, some are forgetting that this isn’t his first rodeo. His first PPV, he beat Orange Cassidy.

And if that wasn’t good enough, he went to Canada to beat Kenny Omega in front of 13 THOUSAND of his own people. And if that still wasn’t good enough, he pinned the first-ever AEW World Champion, Chris Jericho, at Wembley Stadium, bruv! So make no mistake about it. The territory might be different, but he’s used to this. He’s been rolling with the Callis Family, everything’s going smoothly, he is ready to pick up where he left off. Speaking of, here comes Don Callis and his family, the Last Supper mural still including Will Ospreay & Kyle Fletcher while Konosuke Takeshita & Will Hobbs are here in person.

Callis shakes hands and hugs it out with Ospreay, as does Hobbs. Konosuke doesn’t, though, given the match that’s coming. Callis takes the mic from Schiavone to say, “Y’know, ladies and gentlemen, there’s nothing I like more than a Don Callis Family reunion!” Fans boo but Callis says when he thinks about the talent in this group, he thinks about Fletcher, Hobbs, Konosuke & Ospreay, an embarrassment of riches! And Callis loves Ospreay talking about all those things the two of them accomplished together. When Ospreay beat Kenny, Callis was right beside him. Ospreay asked how they were gonna top that, and then we got Ospreay VS Jericho!

And on the biggest night of Ospreay’s life, he beat Jericho! So how to top that? Well, by having a match of the year! The fans chant “You Suck!” at Callis but Callis says you top Ospreay VS Jericho by having a match of the DECADE! And in order to do that, you need the two best rope-to-rope wrestlers in the world! The Alpha, Konosuke Takeshita, and Will BAH GAWD Ospreay! And people ask Callis, how can you pit the family against each other? Well, it’d be like when Michal Jordan and Scotty Pippen would go hard against each other in practice, then come together to win championships!

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter which one wins at Revolution! The real winner after will be the Don Callis Family! Now, shake hands, guys, this will be historic! Konosuke and Ospreay stare down, and Ospreay offers first. Konosuke looks at Ospreay’s hand, then takes it. They shake, the fans boo, but Konosuke doesn’t let Ospreay go. Konosuke wants Ospreay to look him in the eye, then he pats Ospreay on the shoulder. But then Ospreay doesn’t let go! Ospreay won’t let Konosuke big brother him just because Ospreay just got back. The fans rally behind Ospreay, Callis joins in by trying, and failing, to make it a dueling chant.

Ospreay and Konosuke step back, and Ospreay smiles as he bows respect to Konosuke. Will the Don Callis Family really be okay after The Alpha and the Assassin fight it out?

Backstage interview with Eddie Kingston.

Renee is now with the Mad King, and notes the disrespect shown not only to him but this entire time leading up to the match with Bryan at Revolution, how concerned is Eddie to be facing this version of Bryan? Eddie starts but then The Bucks walk in asking if Eddie’s seen Sting. What? No, he hasn’t. The Bucks then realize they’re interrupting an interview. Sorry, take it from the top. No, this is life. Oh, oops, never mind. But then Nick says he has a bone to pick with Eddie anyway. All that crap Eddie was saying on Collision, next time it’ll be a fine! Matt has Nick cool down and apologizes for him.

But while Matt has Eddie, mind if he talks with him for a second? Eddie asks what these two are even doing, but Matt says hold on. Eddie is a champion, y’know. He should work on his presentation a little. He shows up to work with Timbs and sweats? Where’s his sports coat or something? Matt asks Nick if they need to implement a dress code backstage. But no, sorry, they’re still looking for Sting, so carry on. The Bucks go shouting for “Stinger” again, and Renee says she had a point about the Louis Vuitton Timbs. Seriously? Jericho drags Atlantis up again, CHOPS him, and has him in the corner. Jericho CHOPS again, and CHOPS again! Jericho whips corner to corner, runs in and clotheslines! Jericho puts Atlantis up top, throws hands, then climbs up after him. Jericho brings Atlantis up to the very top, but Atlantis resists! Atlantis SUPER GOURD BUSTERS Jericho down! Atlantis adjusts to FROG SPLASH! Cover, TWO!! Jericho survives and Atlantis can’t believe it!

Atlantis and Jericho rise, and Jericho CHOPS first! Atlantis CHOPS back! Atlantis eggs Jericho on so Jericho CHOPS again! Atlantis CHOPS again! The CHOPS go back and forth, then Jericho gets the edge! But Atlantis CHOPS and CHOPS in return! Atlantis puts Jericho on the ropes, and puts some stank on the CHOP! Dynamite returns to single picture as the fans want “One More Time!” Atlantis gets the fans fired up, and winds up to CHOP again! Atlantis whips but Jericho runs him over! Jericho trips Atlantis, WALLS OF JERICHO!! Atlantis endures, reaches out, crawls forward, and his dad coaches him on!

Atlantis reaches, he’s fingertips away! But Jericho drags him away!! Jericho sits deep! Senior throws in the towel!! Jericho wins!

Winner: Chris Jericho, by forfeit

The Lionheart wins, and perhaps the lesson here was knowing when to give up for the sake of your career. Jericho checks on Junior and helps him up. There is still respect between Jericho and the Atlantis familia, will Junior still be the future of CMLL?

BREAKING NEWS for Revolution!

After the big win here tonight, Jericho is now part of the All-Star 8 Man Scramble! He joins “Powerhouse” Hobbs, Lance Archer, Brian Cage, Hook, Wardlow, and two more opponents! Those last two spots will be filled in qualifying matches to be held this weekend! CMLL’s Magnus takes on Matt Sydal for Rampage while a Triple Threat on Collision sees Penta El Zero Miedo VS Dante Martin VS Bryan Keith! Who will join the huge match that grants the winner a future AEW World Championship opportunity?

BREAKING NEWS for Collision!

Just 24 hours before Revolution, we hear from Toni Storm and Deonna Purrazzo ahead of their AEW Women’s World Championship, and we get a star-studded 8 Man Tag! Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta, Hook & Daniel Garcia take on Roderick Strong, Brian Cage, Christian Cage & Killswitch/Luchasaurus! Who will have major momentum going into the title matches going into Revolution?

The Young Bucks make their way to the ring.

Since they didn’t find Sting backstage anywhere, it seems only logical they come out here to finish the search. There are fans wearing Sting masks, so Nick gets in their face. Is one of them Sting playing the hold “Sting wearing a Sting mask” gag? No but DARBY is! Darby DECKS Nick and fires off on the Bucks! Darby puts Nick in the ring but Matt anchors him! Nick PENALTY KICKS from above! The fans rally for Darby but the Bucks mug him back! They put Darby in the ring, get their bats, and it’s just like the night Darby & Sting won the tag titles! Matt CHOKES Darby, Nick throws off his jacket, and The Bucks sit Darby up.

Fans boo but the Bucks want, and hit the E V P TRIGGER!! Darby goes down, Matt JAMS Darby with the bat! Nick stomps Darby, too! The fans boo but the Bucks just soak it up. Then Matt calls for someone? Ric Flair is here?! The Nature Boy smiles as he struts his way down the ramp, but has he really betrayed Sting? Matt & Nick mug Darby more while Ric takes his time getting to the ring. Ric takes one of the bats, but then he pokes Nick in the eye and JABS Matt! The Nature Boy tricked the Bucks and has them right where he wants ’em! Except Nick LOW BLOWS Ric! Fans boo as Ric falls in a heap!

The Bucks are upset that the Dirtiest Player in the Game actually pulled one over on them, and they dig their boots in! The fans boo, then they call for “STING! STING! STING!” The Bucks soak up the heat, just hoping Sting shows up. But then the music hits and the Bucks get on the defensive! They hurry up the ramp with their bats, but where is he? Sting is lowered in from the rafters!! The fans are thunderous as we flashback to the early days of Crow Sting, and the Bucks can’t believe what they’ve just seen! The Bucks run back up, but bats collide and the Bucks are disarmed! Sting JAMS Matt, JAMS Nick, then CRACKS them with bats!

The fans fire up as Darby goes up and SUPER COFFIN DROPS onto both Bucks!! Darby gets Nick in the ring, Sting storms right in after him! Sting gets Nick for the SCORPION DEATH DROP! Darby slides in and Ric stands back up. The fans howl into the night with these icons, but Matt says they’re gonna come up with a “real nice severance package” for Sting. Will Sting’s last match be his most agonizing defeat? Or will it be his most triumphant victory?

My Thoughts:

A great Dynamite, and I really like how this flowed with just four matches. Granted, this format might just be because this is the go-home with plenty of more to do on Rampage and Collision, but AEW/Tony Khan should still try to book it like this more often. Hangman tricking us with the ankle was clever stuff to sucker Swerve in, but Swerve also owned up to doing messed up stuff so… I guess there isn’t really a Face in the match at all? Just Joe, Hangman and Swerve all being mean and badass, though Hangman is much more Heel right now because he tricked us. Either way, this still keeps everyone strong regardless of who wins, but at this point, the fans are strongly behind Swerve so it’s either Swerve or Joe winning.

Good group promo from Bang Bang Scissor Gang, and I like that they poked a little fun at Caster’s flub. And it’s a fitting move to do the flipside of last week’s mash-up, and it just seems to be the story that Austin gets dunked on by everybody else. As I said for last Saturday, it’d be a shame if BBSG came together just to break up and feud when we’ve basically seen that, but at this point, they haven’t even bothered feuding with other champions yet. We got a really good International Championship match from Cassidy VS Nick with all the overbooking to plug the different title stories, and we might even get Roppongi Vice VS Taven & Bennett for the ROH Tag titles at some point.

Really good stuff from Ospreay and the Don Callis Family, and naturally, there is tension between Ospreay and Konosuke already. Callis is too sure of himself, this match is of course tearing Ospreay away from the faction, and I personally still hope Kyle Fletcher joins him because they’re United Empire brothers. Awesome opening Six Man Tag for Eddie & FTR VS BCC, but BCC winning makes sense. There’s still a very good chance Eddie beats Bryan 1v1 to retain the Triple Crown, which is why Bryan got the win on Eddie right here. FTR VS Mox & Claudio could still go either way, but I’m leaning towards FTR so they can challenge for the tag championships past Revolution.

Really good match from Kris VS Skye, but what in the world is Stokely thinking? He’s teamed with two Faces and he’s trying to Heel it up, and that cost Kris. This is gonna lead to Stokely getting slapped around instead of him breaking Kris and Willow up. But there isn’t much time anymore, so I guess we’re not getting a TBS Championship build for Revolution. Maybe for Big Business in Boston in a couple weeks? It would be fitting if someone faces Julia for the title, and regardless of who wins, out comes Mercedes Mone for the huge homecoming moment, and she immediately sets herself up for a TBS Championship match for Double or Nothing.

Really good promo from Jericho, though I wish I knew more Spanish so I could understand the rest of that last line. But great match from Jericho with Atlantis Jr, though I am a touch surprised Jericho won. But hey, Atlantis Jr. looked great, he’s still a champion in CMLL and is going on quite the run over there, we can only hope AEW and CMLL are able to keep this working relationship going. News came out that there’s some travel visa issues for many different big names, let’s hope it doesn’t force AEW and CMLL to delay whatever Forbidden Door type thing they were working on.

And it seems one thing that did have to be delayed is that Meat Madness match. It was said by Tony Khan himself that document issues, along with some injuries, limited their choices for the big match of big meaty men, so now the All-Star Scramble happens instead. That’ll still be awesome stuff, and if it’s about a future world title shot, you can bet Hobbs or Wardlow comes out on top with this. Wardlow especially given that heated promo he gave last week and how it’ll feed into the Undisputed Kingdom story. If Adam Cole is gonna force Wardlow to hand over the world title, then Wardlow needs to have the world title in the first place.

And really good stuff to feed into Sting’s last Dynamite segment. The Bucks being on the hunt all night was an interesting way to keep us intrigued throughout the show, and you gotta appreciate Matt being the levelheaded one to foil against Nick being the hothead, to where Matt didn’t just barge into Sting’s room just in case. Sting dropping in from the rafters surprised me, also kinda scared me, but it was an awesome move to do that for his final TV appearance as it hearkens back to some of his best stuff in WCW.

Ric Flair tricking the Bucks was a good detail, though I’m surprised they didn’t save this for Revolution, but I suppose that would’ve only been the case if Sting & Darby were winning. I’ve been saying The Bucks are winning to get all that heat on themselves, the math would indicate that, but hey, maybe Sting gets to defy such math and tradition because of how he is so iconic and beloved in pro-wrestling.

My Score: 8.9/10

Callis and the rest of the family has been banned from ringside, as has Chris Jericho, this must be settled between Sammy and Hobbs! Will there be anything left of Sammy to return home to his wife and daughter? Or will The Book of Hobbs call for no mercy and no remains?

The moment Hobbs hops off the corner, Sammy JUMP KNEES! The bell rings, Sammy runs up to JUMP KNEE again! Hobbs staggers around, but he catches Sammy to TOSS him to a corner! Hobbs says Sammy wanted this, and he brings Sammy around to DECK him with a haymaker! The fans duel, Hobbs scoops Sammy, APRON POWERSLAM! And again! And again! Hobbs then SLINGS Sammy into railing! The fans fire up as Hobbs says one more time!

Hobbs hauls Sammy back up, for a fake out. Hobbs doesn’t do what the fans want him to do, he does what he wants. Hobbs moves the other set of steps around, brings Sammy back up, and Hobbs whips Sammy hard into railing! Hobbs asks Kevin Kelley what he’s going on about but Kevin isn’t sure Hobbs means. Hobbs tells Kevin to stand up so Kevin does, and then Hobbs demands Kevin hand over his belt. His belt? Hobbs tells him again, give over the belt. Kevin gives in and hands said belt over. Hobbs then takes the belt and uses it to LASH Sammy on the back! Fans are torn but Hobbs LASHES Sammy again!

Sammy writhes, Nigel tells Kevin this is his fault. Hobbs winds up, Sammy dodges the belt to SUPERKICK! And SUPERKICK again! Sammy grabs a chair, and he SMACKS Hobbs with it! And then HEADSHOT! Hobbs flounders against railing but the fans fire up as Sammy stalks him. Sammy tosses Hobbs the chair to KICK it into him! Then Sammy cravats, uses the steps, but Hobbs turns the cutter into a TOSS over the railing! Sammy’s leg clips the top, but Hobbs hauls him back up and over! But Sammy slips free, and CUTTERS to the steps!! Sammy gets the belt now and he LASHES Hobbs in return!

Sammy then goes looking under the ring, and he brings out a table! The fans fire up as Sammy sets the table up nearby. Sammy has security move aside, so he can slide that chair off the table and into Hobbs! Sammy then adds another table! If one is good, more must be better! The fans fire up with Sammy as he has those side by side. Hobbs goes to the apron but Sammy climbs up. Sammy aims and leaps, but Hobbs catches him again!! And he SPINEBUSTERS Sammy through the tables!!! All of Springfield, Missouri lose their minds while the ref checks on both men, and Collision goes picture in picture!

Hobbs snarls as he slowly rises up out of the wreckage. Sammy stirs but Hobbs clears out the debris to bring him up. Hobbs HEADBUTTS Sammy and Sammy staggers away. Sammy gets in the ring but Hobbs pursues. Hobbs climbs the corner?! Hobbs then FLYING LARIATS! The Powerhouse proves he can fly, then he covers, TWO!! Sammy survives but Hobbs grinds him into the mat! Hobbs talks trash on Sammy while he fishhooks the nose and pulls on the ear! Hobbs then drags Sammy up, whips him to a corner hard, and Sammy drops to his knees. Hobbs looms over Sammy, eggs him on, and the fans rally up.

Hobbs talks more trash, stands Sammy back up, and Hobbs whips Sammy hard into another corner! Collision returns to single picture as Sammy crawls around. Hobbs looms over Sammy again, slaps him around, and then whips him into another corner! Hobbs runs up, Sammy dodges and Hobbs hits buckles! Sammy uses the corner to help in the torture rack! Fans fire up as Sammy carries Hobbs, and GO TO HOSPITAL!! Cover, TWO?!? Hobbs survives and Sammy is shocked! The fans rally as Sammy hurries to find himself something more. Sammy takes a monitor from the timekeeper!

Sammy brings the equipment into the ring, MONITOR SHOT!! But that’s not enough so Sammy looks around outside. He finds another table! The fans are thunderous as table number three is put in the ring. Sammy hurries after Hobbs but Hobbs LARIATS Sammy inside-out! Hobbs storms around, grabs the table for his own and sets that up near a corner. Hobbs goes back for Sammy as the fans rally up, and Hobbs hauls Sammy up. Sammy JAWBREAKERS back! Hobbs wobbles, but Sammy SUPERKICKS! Hobbs still wobbles, so Sammy springboards and FLYING- NO, Hobbs catches him again! WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM!! Cover, TWO!!!

Sammy survives and now Hobbs is furious! Hobbs runs to BOOT Sammy down! Hobbs goes out while Sammy flops off the apron. Hobbs looks around under the ring, and he brings out a fourth table! The fans fire up as Hobbs brings this one to the ramp side. Hobbs sets that up, stomps Sammy to keep him down, then he goes to fetch a fifth table! The fans are thunderous, this might be the most tables in a non-table match! Hobbs hauls Sammy up, scoops him, and aims, but Sammy slips free to POST Hobbs first! Sammy fires up again while Hobbs staggers around. Sammy chugs a fan’s beer, then SMASHES Hobbs with the bottle!

The fans fire up as Hobbs ends up on the tables! The fans give Sammy another beer, to SMASH it on Hobbs again! Sammy then goes looking under the ring, and he brings out a LADDER! The fans are loving it, because now we’ve entered TLC territory! Sammy gets that ladder in the ring while the fans lose their minds! Sammy moves table number three outta the way so he can stand his ladder up. And it’s a big ladder! Fans chant “Please Don’t Die!” because this is extra crazy even for Sammy! Sammy climbs to the second highest rung, takes aim, and shoutout to Jeff Hardy! SUPER SWANTON BOMB through the tables!!!

The fans lose their minds all over again as the ref checks Sammy. Sammy gets Hobbs up and into the ring and the fans fire up again. “This is Awesome!” as Sammy takes table number three and sets it back up! Hobbs flounders, Sammy pushes him onto that table and punches him down. Sammy then goes to the corner, which is comparatively short, but Hobbs shoves the ref into Sammy!! Sammy is stuck on the top rope and Hobbs snarls as he storms up after him! Hobbs brings Sammy up for the scoop! WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM THROUGH THE TABLE!! Cover, Hobbs wins!!

Winner: “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs, by pinfall

All that damage done to Hobbs and he still took the win! Is there no stopping the Don Callis Family with the Powerhouse behind it?

The Blackpool Combat Club speaks.

Jon Moxley is with Claudio Castagnoli as he shares a story. “When Claudio first comes to America, he shows up at the gym to train with William Regal and Dave Taylor. When Dave pulls up, Claudio’s sitting on the front step, there’s no cars around. Dave says, ‘How’d you get here?’ Claudio says, ‘I walked.’ Dave says, ‘From the airport? 20+ miles?’ Claudio says, ‘Yeah.'” That was day one. You think 20 minutes is a lot to Claudio? It’s nothing, he’s a freak. Moxley is a freak in a different way, needing to get hit in the face a couple times just to wake up. And while Moxley’s not a sprinter, he can run all day and all night.

You will never win a war of attrition with the BCC. When it’s a game of who can endure, you have no chance. But the BCC don’t get paid by the hour and they don’t wanna wrestle like they do. So time limit draws for them are unsatisfactory. So congrats, FTR, you pissed them off! Good job. But if you wanna challenge them for Revolution, you wanna pay homage to tag team wrestling in one of the wrestling Meccas, Greensboro, North Carolina, they accept. The four of them will show the world that all that history is just that. This is 2024, this is AEW, the BCC are the elite of the elite, and this sport evolves.

Claudio, what’s Moxley thinking of right now? Well, tag team wrestling, Midnight Express, Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Arn ‘n’ Tully, Crockett Promotions, its entire history. And about FTR, how they look to the past, how they wanna bring back the past. The BCC looks to the future. The BCC creates the style and the wrestling that they wanna see today. So FTR, if you wanna live in the past, fine. But if you wanna step into the future, that path is through them! And all you have to do is just be better than Moxley & Claudio.

Moxley also keeps thinking, that can’t be all that FTR had. Because it feels like they unloaded all their heavy artillery, every magazine, while the BCC barely pulled the trigger. If FTR want to be big names in Greensboro, then they’ll have to swim in deep, deep waters. Claudio tells FTR to bring the whole bag of tricks, because they’ll need it. The match is set, but just how far will both teams go to settle the score?

FTR VS Shane Taylor Promotions!

Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler are ready for another fight with the BCC, but for right now, they’ve got the STP! Will the #TopGuys still be FTR? Or will Lee Moriarty & Shane Taylor himself prove they’re in that conversation now?

Shane drags Dax up, tags Lee, and STP mugs Dax. Lee throws knees, snapmares Dax and basement dropkicks! Lee drags Dax up, ROCKS hi, but Dax puts him in a corner to CHOP! And CHOP! Dax brings Lee around, wrenches, but Lee ROCKS Dax! And CHOPS him! Dax CHOPS again! And again! Lee swings, Dax ducks and picks Lee up, but Shane tags in before the atomic drop! Lee hobbles away, Dax ROCKS Shane!

Dax runs up to whip Lee but Lee reverses. Dax rebounds off buckles to CLOBBER Lee, but Shane CLOBBERS Dax! Cover, TWO! Dax survives, Shane talks trash on Cash, and Collision goes picture in picture.

Shane drags Dax up, puts him in a corner, then winds up to CHOP! Dax sputters and Shane talks more trash. Shane stands Dax up, winds up, and CHOPS again! Collision returns and Shane has Dax in a bearhug! Dax endures the squeeze but the fans rally up. The ref checks Dax, the hand drops once. The hand drops twice! But then Dax comes back to life! And he BITES Shane’s forehead! The ref reprimands but Shane lets Dax go. Dax back suplexes, but falls over under Shane! Shane covers, TWO! Tag to Lee, and STP gets Dax up. Lee whips Dax but Dax turns the back drop into a cradle! TWO, and Dax CHOPS! Dax puts on a SLEEPER, but Lee RAMS him iont a corner! Tag to Shane, Dax fires hands on STP! Lee whips Cash at the corner but Cash BLASTS Shane! Cash goes up and over Lee, then does it again! Tag to Dax, sunset flip leads to the pop-up, BULLDOG BOMB! Cover, FTR wins!

Winners: FTR, by pinfall

BCC said FTR live in the past, but they used an old school finisher to win! Cash gets the mic now as the fans chant for FTR, and Cash says, “So a few weeks ago, Jon Moxley said, ‘Step up, and get stepped on.'” The fans boo that, but Cash tells Moxley, FTR is like a couple roaches. It’ll take much more than getting stepped to kill them! The fans cheer that! So that said, if BCC has anything more to say, they know where FTR’s gonna be. Dax tells Moxley & Claudio that he heard everything they had to say. They talked about differing styles and different eras, how FTR are throwbacks and the past is what they care about.

“That’s not what this is about. Moxley, you’ve been here since almost the beginning. For almost five years, you’ve been the king of AEW. This is your castle! This is your house, Mox! And I see you, Mox. And I see Claudio, and I see Bryan. I see you walk around the back, and people cower and they fear and they drop their eyes because they’re afraid of you. I think the reason you’re pissed off is you found a couple guys who ain’t scared of you.” The fans cheer that, too! FTR ain’t scared. But if Moxley is the king and this is his castle, it’s been said that to be a king, you gotta kill a king. So Revolution, FTR comes for the king’s head. #TopGuysOut!

The fans fire up as Dax & Cash are ready to be more elite than the elite of the elite! Will either team be left standing after the Revolution?

Thunder Rosa VS Ladybird Monroe!

La Mera Mera is ranked #2 in the Women’s Division, and we know the AEW Women’s World Championship is spoken for in terms of a challenger. Will Rosa then look to solidify her spot in the TBS Championship chase?

The bell rings and Rosa circles with Monroe. They tie up, go around, and Rosa waistlocks to SLAM Monroe down. Rosa then facelocks, waistlocks, but Monroe switches. Rosa pries the hold to switch, hammerlock, and then chicken wing! Rosa wants the crossface, too, but Monroe wrenches out to hammerlock back. Monroe pulls hair, talks trash and CLUBS Rosa. Rosa gets mad now. Monroe whips, Rosa reverses and CHOPS! Monroe goes to a corner, and Rosa CHOPS her again! Rosa fires off forearms then bumps Monroe off buckles! Rosa says this is how you climb the ladder! Rosa CHOPS Monroe again!

Rosa winds up but Monroe ducks this chop to stomp Rosa in return. Monroe pie faces and CHOPS Rosa, then CHOPS! Monroe winds up, UPPERCUTS, then snapmares! Monroe cartwheels but Rosa avoids the boot! Rosa rolls Monroe then basement KNEES Monroe down! The fans fire up and Rosa runs side to side, DROPKICK against ropes! Monroe sputters but Rosa drags her up. Fireman’s carry and DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Rosa roars, wants Monroe back up, and Monroe slowly rises. The fans rally as Rosa reels her in. Rosa puts on out, package and TIJUANA BOMB! Cover, Rosa wins!

Winner: Thunder Rosa, by pinfall

“You see this? I’m climbing the ladder, because as we know, Thunder Rosa knows how to work hard.” Rosa vows this is her time, will her comeback be unstoppable?

Backstage interview with Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale & Stokely Hathaway.

Renee Paquette is with The Galaxy’s Greatest, The Babe with the Power and #BigStoke, bringing up the “choice words” from Skye Blue & Julia Hart last night on Rampage. What is their reaction? Stokely wants to start by saying he doesn’t appreciate that hostility. What happened last week, he apologized for. Did he put it on social media at like 3AM and then delete it five minutes later? Absolutely! But the past is the past. Stat said it best, they worry about the future, and that includes those two- Willow says think before you speak, Stokely. “Ho…ly cow, you got something to say.”

And Kris points out Skye is always looking for a fight, so maybe, since they’re 1-1, they go 1v1 next week and Kris beats dat ass. This eclectic trio is ready to fight it out, but will they be able to tear down The House of Black?

Six Man Tag: Jay White, Colten Gunn & Billy Gunn VS The Iron Savages & Jacked Jameson!

As the Bang Bang Scissor Gang looks to dominate all of AEW & ROH, they are trying a team remix! Max Caster has a rap for the occasion! “Acclaimed & The Bang Bang, we the real savages. ‘Bout to bring the fight like me against management! These guys’re so mad, they prolly see red!” Oh no, Caster loses the flow! This is a travesty! Bowens takes over to say, “SPRIIINGFIELD, MIZZOU-REEE~! The Bang Bang Scissor Gang has arrived! Scissor Me, Daddy Ass!” And he does~! Will Billy, his son Colten, and the Switchblade make a killer trio? Or will they all end up sipping the Savage Sauce?

The trios sort out and White wants to start, but so does Billy. The fans sing “OH~ Scissor Me, Daddy~!” so White says okay, Billy can start. Billy stares down Beefcake Boulder and the two circle. They tie up, Billy headlocks but Boulder powers up and out! Billy RAMS Boulder, neither falls, and Boulder shows off #TiddyCity! Billy says okay, “SUCK IT!” and eye poke! Billy then runs Boulder over! The fans fire up, Billy runs and drops an elbow, but Boulder moves! Boulder then runs Billy over! Boulder swivels hips, tags Bulk Bronson, and they get Billy up. It’s time to visit the city! But Billy turns it around and shoves Bronson into Boulder!

Backstage interview with Bryan Danielson.

Lexi Nair is with the American Dragon ahead of his main event match tonight against Jun Akiyama. Some consider this a dream match. Bryan says yes, but what Lexi didn’t say and should’ve said is that this the legendary Jun Akiyama. This is a man Bryan respects as one of the greatest wrestlers in history! Someone who is Eddie Kingston’s hero! And Eddie will be on commentary tonight, watching Bryan wrestle one of the greatest wrestlers, and beat him. Bryan vows to defeat the man that is Eddie’s hero. Bryan wants to make it clear, he respects Jun Akiyama and every single thing he has done. But do you know who Bryan does NOT respect? Eddie Kingston.

Bryan says Eddie just made this thing, that their match at Revolution is about a handshake. That if Eddie wins, Bryan has to shake Eddie’s hand and show him respect, and he thinks that’ll kill Bryan inside. And maybe it will. Because Bryan does NOT respect Eddie, and do you know why? Because if Eddie was asked to do a promo, do you know how he’d do it? Lexi’s interviewed him, right? And what would he say? “Oh, the boom! Oh the lights! Oh, you’ve got shoes on! Oh!” Then he’d say this, that and whatever, storm off and that’s it. He is NOT a professional, has NEVER been a professional!

Bryan has known Eddie for 20 YEARS, and Eddie is someone who had more potential than anybody Bryan has ever met, and he WASTED it! WASTED it until just this last year! But not only does Bryan not respect Eddie, Eddie’s waste of potential just pisses Bryan off. That is why Bryan will win against Eddie at Revolution for the Continental Triple Crown. The American Dragon wants to destroy the Mad King, but will he start with the Japanese legend?

My Thoughts:

A really good Collision here, lots of good story build for both Revolution and just in general. Great opening match with the No Disqualification match, but I’m surprised Hobbs won after all the stuff Sammy was doing. I mean, that’s good for Hobbs, he really should be winning things. Maybe it’s also to build Hobbs up so that when the Don Callis Family ends up fighting Ospreay & Fletcher, Ospreay & Fletcher are made even bigger deals when they beat Hobbs & Takeshita. Good win for Rosa and really good win for Deeb, both are going strong at perhaps just the right time. Deeb also had a really good promo, both should definitely be challenging for titles after Revolution going towards Double or Nothing.

Great trios match for Bang Bang Scissor Gang, and of course there was a moment of dysfunction where White gets the tag and not Billy. BBSG still wins, but I’m more surprised by Caster losing the flow on his rap. If that was legit, I feel bad for him, but maybe he wrote himself into a corner with “red” and the rhymes being bad (something something head, something something dead). I mean, he did just say he and management argue, maybe he held himself back because he didn’t want Tony Khan upset over blatantly naughty rhymes. And also, despite me wanting them to actually go for more gold, it feels like we’re just a moment away from BBSG breaking up and fighting for all the trios titles.

Great match from Bryan Keith and Malakai Black for the hell of it, and it gives Malakai a solid singles win. When Malakai hasn’t had one of those in awhile, that’s only because he hasn’t had a singles match in a long time. A little surprising Mark Briscoe didn’t get away with his ambush. He could’ve just bailed out when Buddy & Brody showed up but I guess that wouldn’t be in-character for Mark. Maybe Keith will be an ally for Mark against The House of Black since FTR is a bit busy right now. Speaking of which, great tag match of FTR VS STP and of course FTR wins. Good promo from BCC to set up the rematch at Revolution, I feel like they should make a point that the time limit isn’t 20 minutes but I can’t even remember if PPVs have time limits on matches.

And great tie-in of BCC with the main event tonight. Bryan VS Jun was a great match, Eddie was great on commentary because he knew Jun’s moveset and style so he was saying what was coming. Bryan won, of course, adding another Triple Crown Champion to the list since he’s coming after Eddie’s Triple Crown. I had a feeling Bryan was going to disrespect Jun, but it was only because Jun told him to respect Eddie. Great brawl to set up Eddie & FTR VS BCC for Dynamite, that’ll make for a strong go-home going towards Revolution.

My Score: 8.7/10
