Backstage interview with Hangman Page and Evil Uno.

Renee Paquette is with the Cowboy and the de facto Dark Order leader, wanting to talk about the situation last week creating tonight’s main event match, Evil Uno VS Jon Moxley. How has Uno been preparing? Uno says, “Well how exactly do you prepare for the most violent-” Hangman cuts off that rhetorical question by saying, “You don’t! I’ve asked you guys to stay out of this a thousand times, and I get it.” But before Hangman can explain things, Uno says, “Y’know what? I’ve heard you talk so many times, Hangman, and you’ve requested so many times for us not to get involved. But every time you say that, you know what I hear? ‘Dark Order is not on your level.’

“So, I have a request for you. No matter what happens in that match, from bell to bell, I do not want you to get involved. And if you were Dark Order, you would understand that. It’s time for us to stand up for ourselves. So Jon Moxley, tonight, you get to find out exactly why my name is Evil Uno.” Renee wishes him the best of luck and sends things back to the ring. Will Uno be the one that denies Moxley his 100th win tonight?

Ricky Starks is here!

Phoenix fires up as The Absolute strikes his pose, then heads to the ring. He clearly has a contract in his coat pocket, so clearly he has some business to take care of. We’ll hear from “Stroke Daddy,” after the break.

AEW returns and Starks has the mic. Fans chant for “RICKY! RICKY!” and he says he could let them keep chanting, but they’d get mad at him for going over time. But it ain’t no secret these past few months, he’s dealt with interference from the JAS. Baseball bats, people dressed up in masks, and being put through a table. “The message seems pretty clear to me, Chris. You do not wanna have a rematch against moi. And I accept that. I accept that the rematch won’t happen, so I will be moving on from Chris Jericho. But, what I have right here is an open challenge. An open contract for a match against me at Revolution.

“And as my theme song says, the revolution will be televised, so I’ll be damned if I’m left off of this PPV. So I know that there’s somebody that is back there that is itching to get on this card. And hey, I welcome you to come out here, and let’s do the damn thing, y’know what I’m saying?” But then JERICHO appears! Starks sighs but Jericho has a mic of his own. Fans sing Judas for Jericho while the pyro goes off, and then Jericho says, “Now, Ricky Starks, I know what you’re trying to do here right now. You’re trying to bait me into having another match with you.

“But let me say this. You say you’re over and done with Chris Jericho. You’re not over and done until I say so. Let me tell you this, count your blessings, Starks. You beat Chris Jericho, congratulations. It was the highlight of your career, take it and put it in a box, and put it by your nightstand and look at it every night before you go to sweep. Because it’s never gonna happen again! Starks, I could beat you any time, any place, anywhere, but it’s never gonna happen because you are not at my level.” Fans boo and Starks chuckles. Jericho wishes Starks luck with the Open Challenge. And here comes The Wingmen’s “Pretty” Peter Avalon!

Avalon says this is his chance to hit it big, but then Jericho hits a JUDAS EFFECT! And his jacket’s covered in spikes!! Jericho storms down to the ring but fans chant, “We Want Peter!” Jericho tells them to shut up! “See what happens when you want an open challenge? Everyone’s gonna walk out here. You want Jericho so bad, you can’t have Revolution without Jericho, without the Demo God. Maybe I should take that little contract of yours, Starks! Have a rematch with you and embarrass your stupid ass!” Fans boo but Starks says yeah, Jericho can sign it. But we all know he’ll bring the JAS out here, they’ll jump Starks, beat him up, and that’s all good.

But Starks asks Jericho this: “As THE Chris Jericho, the first AEW World Champion, the guy who beat two legends in one night, you did that all by yourself, right? I don’t understand why you keep needing the JAS. But unless you really think that you probably can’t beat me… I Just think you have it in you to get the job done by yourself, that’s all I’m saying.” Jericho says Starks doesn’t think Jericho can win 1v1? Nope. Actually, Jericho can. Starks genuinely believes Jericho can. Jericho snatches the contract, looks at it, and fans chant “SIGN IT!”

Jericho says damn right he can win! And he can do it 1v1, he’s the Great Chris Jericho! Le Champion! One of the best ever! Of course Jericho can beat little Starks 1v1. He’ll sign it and add an addendum that the JAS stays in the back at Revolution! He’ll do that right here and now! “Except, uh, I don’t have a pen.” Jericho smirks, and Starks says, “Damn. But I do.” Fans fire up and Jericho reluctantly takes the contract. And he clicks it! Jericho signs his part, writes the addendum himself, and if Starks wants it, he’s got it! Jericho VS Starks at Revolution! “Be careful what you wish for, Ricky. Because remember this: nobody outsmarts The Ocho.”

Jericho walks away all smug, but Starks smiles and winks at the camera. Will this be an absolute classic?

The many AEW tag teams speak.

Matthew Menard says in Phoenix, Arizona, the Tag Team Revolution Battle Royal is on Dynamite! The Blade says, “Ready! Aim! But who has the most tag team wins in 2023? Alex Reynolds & John Silver do! And who will win this battle royal? They will! But Mark Sterling says the icing on the cake is that HIS guys, Tony Nese & Ari Daivari, are going to win the titles. Best Friends are fired up, mad, and guarantee nothing but a win! As always, Platinum Max has a diss track on deck! “The Acclaimed came, got the crowd poppin’ harder. We gonna run you outta town like you Robert Sarver! Lee Moriarty is Taiga Style. Bill HOTSHOTS Caster, too, and Moriarty LARIATS! Caster sputters but Moriarty is on him. Moriarty UPPERCUTS Caster to a corner, bumps him off buckles, and he tags in Big Bill. The Firm mugs Caster, then Morrissey shows off his hips. Morrisey CLUBS Caster to a corner, throws big body shots, and he stays close as Caster staggers. Bill bumps Caster off buckles, tags Moriarty back in, and they mug Caster more. Moriarty ROCKS Caster, then stands on his leg as he crawls.

Moriarty stands Caster up but Cater throws body shots. Moriarty knees low but Caster kicks back. Moriarty UPPERCUTS, then CHOKES Caster on the ropes! The ref counts, Moriarty lets off, tag to Bill. The mugging continues, Bill mocks the scissor fingers, and he ROCKS Caster with haymakers! Caster staggers to the Firm’s corner, but here come the Gunns. They wave hi to the Acclaimed while Bill keeps beating Caster down. Dynamite returns to single picture as the fans boo the Ass Boys. But Bill scoops and SLAMS Caster, then mocks the scissor fingers again. Bill runs, but Caster avoids the elbow drop!

Fans fire up, Caster gest to an open corner, and he dodges Bill’s splash! Bill hits buckles, hot tags to Moriarty and Bowens! Bowens rallies with big hands and elbows, and a CHOP! Bowens whips, Moriarty reverses but Bowens hurdles to then mule kick, front kick, run and BULLDOG FAMOUSER! Fans fire up with Bowens as he torture racks, swings and SLAMS Moriarty! Tony Schiavone is on stage.

“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, Christian Cage!” Fans boo as Captain Charisma makes his way out, having returned last week to distract and then assault “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry! But speaking of, JB jumps Christian! JB rains down fists, then BLINDSIDE LARIATS!! Fans fire up as JB gets some payback! JB kicks dirt on Christian then leaves. What will Captain Charisma have to say to that? Wait, JB isn’t done! He’s back, with CHAIRS! JB sets one down, then drags Christian over to it! He stands on Christian, grabs the other chair, and raises it! Fans want him to “DO IT! DO IT!” But JB is still conflicted. He may hate Christian, but is he this savage?

JB raises the chair again, but Christian LOW BLOWS!!! And then SMACKS JB in the face! Christian dribbles JB’s face off the steel! Fans boo but Christian soaks it all up. Captain Charisma sits JB up to show the busted-open forehead! Christian stands on JB, and only now do referees show up to tell him to back off. The medic checks JB while fans cheer Aubrey Edwards on for bringing the authority. Will things only get worse between Christian Cage and Jack Perry?

Samoa Joe speaks.

First, we recap Wardlow’s warning. Joe then says, “Wardlow, of all of man’s great follies, perhaps his greatest is delusion. I scalped you to take the one thing that meant the most to you, your beloved connection to your father, to send a message that I am not a man to be messed with. So come Revolution, I’m gonna make it very clear that the biggest mistake you ever made was ever stepping back in the ring with me.” The One True King of Wrestling Television has spoken, but will Wardlow still declare war on his kingdom?

Saraya w/ Toni Storm VS Skye Blue!

The battlelines are drawn in the AEW Women’s Division, and the outsiders are daring everyone to choose a side. Will Saraya make Phoenix her house? Or will Skye Blue be the one handing out an L tonight?

The bell rings and Saraya circles with Skye. Saraya pie faces Skye, but Skye fires off forearms! Fans fire up but Saraya shoves Skye away. Skye dodges, wheelbarrows, and manages to throw Saraya away. Winner: Saraya, by submission

Skye lost, but Saraya & Storm are going to add insult to injury! They have the spray paint cans, but here comes Jamie Hayter & Britt Baker! The champ and the Doctor run the outsiders off, no L being sprayed tonight! Well, Saraya and Storm spray a fan’s sign with one real quick, then run off. But here comes Ruby Soho! The Runaway isn’t going to let them run away! But Ruby also tells Hayter that she wants the belt. Hayter is fine with that, but will Saraya & Storm still make this about them?

Bryan Danielson is here!

Phoenix fires up again as The American Dragon heads to the ring, and he gets the mic to say, “Boy, is it great to be back in Phoenix, Arizona!” Fans chant “YES! YES! YES!” and Bryan continues with, “Man, it seems like you people might want me to win the AEW Championship at Revolution.” They continue to say “YES! YES! YES!” Bryan says he will do everything in his power to beat MJF for that title. “But first, I wanna talk a little bit about what MJF said last week. MJF came out into this ring, and said he hates Bryan Danielson. So let me get this straight: he tries to break the arm of a friend of mine for over 20 years, and he hates me?

“Let me get this straight: he put a bounty on my head, tried to injure me so I can’t even make it to the PPV, but he hates me? MJF hospitalized my mentor, William Regal, and he hates-” WAIT! Here comes MJF! Fans are torn as Maxwell Jacob Friedman walks out but he has the music cut. He stares Bryan down from the stage, and he says, “Bryan, you may have all these shmucks twisted, but I know who you really are, man. And I know who I really am. I’m the guy who got left stranded by anyone I’ve ever opened up to. I’m the guy who got thrown away like trash by anyone who’s ever claimed they loved me.

“And then I met a girl. A girl who changed my outlook on every single person on this planet. My dream girl, the girl I fell in love with. She convinced me that not everyone in this world is bad, so I became the man who got down on one knee and I told that girl I wanted to start a family with her. I wanted to make a home with her. I wanted to have children with her. And you know what she did, Bryan Danielson? She left me. She left me, Bryan!” Fans aren’t exactly upset to hear that. Quite a few chant, “You Deserve It!” MJF says “She left me because I’m unlovable!

And now, the only thing I have in this life that I can trust, the only thing I have in this world that makes me feel unconditional love, is this Triple B! The AEW World Heavyweight Championship is the only thing stopping me from grabbing a fistful of pills and calling it a day! But not you, Bryan, no! Everybody loves the American Dragon, Bryan Danielson! Everybody looks up to you. Everyone respects you. They throw their hands up in their air and they scream, ‘Yes!’ at the top of their lungs!” Fans do it even now! “And as if that wasn’t enough, you have something I’ll never have: you have a family.

“A beautiful, smart, adoring wife, two happy healthy children. And you take all of it for granted! You wanna know why I hate you, Dragon? It’s not because these shmucks actually think that you’re better than me, cuz Lord knows by March 5th, they’ll know that ain’t the truth. I hate you because you have had more concussions and more head trauma than anyone in the history of this business. You suffered concussion after concussion until you were on the floor, foam streaming down your face, having seizures. And you’re still in my sport? Every time you step foot in that ring, you’re saying wrestling is more important than your family and your children.

“Every time you step foot in that ring, you’re spitting in my face! Because you are taking everything I would kill for, for granted! You are no different than your worthless, drug addicted mentor, William Regal, who I gladly sent home to the hospital. Matter of fact, Bryan, you’re worse. Because you’re addicted to the spotlight. Well guess what? On March 5th at Revolution, you’re gonna get all the spotlight you could possibly ever need in that Ironman match. Because I’m gonna punish you, Dragon. I’m gonna punish you for trying to take away the ONE THING I have in this life! And I am gonna punish you for everything you have taken for granted.

“So now, I’d like to take this chance to speak to your children watching at home.” Bryan tells him not to DARE bring the family into this, or he’ll kick the sh*t outta him! Fans fire up for that! MJF still says, “Hi, Birdie. Hi, Buddy. It’s your Uncle Max here. I just want you to know that come March 5th at Revolution, I’m gonna make Dada pay for all his selfishness. I’m gonna grab Dada’s arm, and I’m gonna rip it outta socket until he submits! And I’m gonna make sure Dada can never play with you again.” Fans boo and tell MJF off, but he just says, “For one hour straight, I’m gonna make sure Dada can never pick you up again.

“And then, Uncle Max is gonna take his fist and hit Dada in the head with it over and over again! And I’m gonna give Dada a present on March 5th.” MJF storms up to the ring and the apron. Does everyone wanna know what the gift is? EARLY ONSET CT- BRYAN FIRES OFF ON MJF! They brawl, MJF tackles Bryan but Bryan turns it around to rain down fists!! Security has to rush out there to stop this but fans want to “LET THEM FIGHT!” Bryan gets loose to TACKLE MJF! They brawl more, the security separates them, but MJF fights off the guards! He CLOBBERS Bryan in a corner! Bryan pushes MJF all the way back!

Fans boo as refs and produces rush out now to make sure these two stay apart! but Bryan manages to get loose again! MJF runs off, BJ Whitmer tries to reason with Bryan, but Bryan slides out to CLOBBER MJF into the timekeeper’s area! Bryan wants MJF again and fans are losing their minds! Security gets Bryan away from MJF, but will this only explode in the ONE HOUR Ironman Match?

Backstage interview with Jamie Hayter & Britt Baker.

Tony Schiavone of course talks with the Killer & the Pillar, and brings up what we saw earlier tonight with them confronting Saraya & Storm. Hayter says they are PISSED! Saraya is getting too big for her britches, thinking she can just walk around here, do whatever she wants, and wreak havoc and destroy everything that Britt, Hayter and the rest of the AEW Women’s Division have created. Hayter doesn’t like that. Hayter also noticed how Saraya was glancing at the AEW Women’s World Championship last week. Sure, Saraya might be worthy for a shot. Saraya hasn’t lost a single match since her comeback, and you have to respect that.

But look at everything Saraya’s trying to do. “Ruin it from the ground up.” But Hayter thinks someone else is also deserving of a shot at Revolution, in one Ruby Soho. Ever since Ruby came back from injury, she’s been killing it. She’s busted her ass and shown everyone why she should be after this title, as well. So Hayter is “wracking her brain” trying to think of who is more deserving. So let’s have a little fun at Revolution and make it a TRIPLE THREAT! Saraya, Soho, Hayter will beat both you b*tches, neither one is taking this title off her! The champ has spoken, will it be made official? Can Hayter still hit hard when there’s two opponents at once?

Revolution Tag Team Battle Royal!

The Gunns and The Acclaimed are already headed to the tag title match in the Golden State, but pretty much everyone else has a shot at a spot! Top Flight, Silver & Reynolds, Team Triple J, La Faccion Ingobernable, Best Friends, the Lucha Brothers, The Butcher & The Blade, Menard & Parker, Nese & Daivair and even NJPW’s Aussie Open are all here, and at the bell, they all flood the ring! Who will be the last team standing to be the first team added to Revolution?

Fans fire up as the brawling is on between all the teams, but the JAS stay outside. Some brawls spill out from the middle rope, but most of the teams stay inside. Sonjay Dutt helps Jarrett mug Fenix, even though Sonjay isn’t a participant! Now the JAS get involved, Trent and Lethal brawl outside, and Penta KICKS Jarrett! Rush whips Jarrett at Penta and Jarrett LARIATS Penta! Jarrett and Rush mug Penta, Nese & Daivari stomp away on Fenix. Reynolds CHOPS Vance, Butcher & Blade stomp away on Top Flight. The Last Outlaw wins it for his team, but it helps that his team had extra members! Will Triple J steal the tag titles like they did Paul Walter Hauser’s Golden Globe? And who will be in next week’s Casino Tag Team Battle Royal to win that final spot?

BREAKING NEWS!

With Aussie Open here tonight and fans excited to see them, Davis & Fletcher will get a tag match with the Young Bucks for Rampage! Will Aussie Open get themselves in on the Trios Championships? Or will they just be part of a Superkick Party?

The House of Black speak.

Malakai says, “Thousands of people is what you heard last week. Thousands of people that feel. Feel and see the same things that we’ve been seeing for months. But there is a problem, as we said, within this company. And it’s time for us to address that problem, eradicate it, and let these voices be heard.” Brody King steps out from the shadows with Julia Hart and says, “The House will bring a firestorm to purify the current landscape of AEW. And from the ashes rain, The House will cement its foundation on the cinder, built to last.”

Buddy Matthews walks out from the shadows and adds, “But before Revolution, we the House would like to discuss your status as AEW World Trios Champions this Friday, face to face.” The House of Black wants to meet The Elite, will Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks accept the invitation?

Backstage interview with Tony Khan.

Renee is with the AEW President & CEO, and knows he has a HUGE announcement to make. What’s going on? Tony says this is huge stuff involving a lot of the big stars and the people backstage. Tony felt this would be best made by a major star in AEW, and that man is ADAM COLE! Cole and Tony shake hands and Tony steps aside. Renee asks Cole what’s going on. Cole says that last week, he said he was really excited about getting to tell more of his story. That day is upon us. Starting next month in March, there will be a weekly, one-hour television series immediately following after Dynamite right on TBS, AEW All Access.

AEW All Access will be a look at the company like you’ve never seen before. It’ll feature names like Adam Cole Baybay, Dr. Britt Baker, and many more. And trust him when he says this is something you will not want to miss. For example, Cole is getting to show a lot of his story, his challenges, his ups and downs and everything in between. He is excited to share that journey with everyone watching at home. He also has more good news. That same night, the debut night of AEW All Access, live on Dynamite, Cole will make his in-ring return! For the past six months, Cole has gone through hell, challenge after challenge, just imagining this day happening, “and that day is oh so very close.”

Cole is “damn sure” he’ll be the best Adam Cole he’s ever been, and the AEW roster better be ready. March is going to be special, from AEW All Access and Adam Cole being back, baybay! Will there be some real March madness in AEW?

Team Triple J speaks.

Sonjay Dutt says that everything he has said has come true! They are going to Revolution and become tag team champions! Jarrett says it’s just 10 days away, and he told us all they’d do it! But in step The Gunns! Colten & Austin have them all settle down, no hitting anyone with a guitar. They aren’t here to fight, but Colten is thinking that maybe it should be just the two teams here. Sonjay says their Firm buddies sure didn’t get the job done with The Acclaimed. What’re the champs really trying to say? All they’re saying is that they can take care of each other’s business before Revolution.

Jarrett says they’ll take care of business when The Gunns take care of business. Uh, they always take care of business. Do they see the titles? Austin mocks Jarrett’s guitar playing. Sonjay fist bumps with the Gunns, Lethal doesn’t mind that, and Sonjay says things are in the bag now. But with a Casino Tag Battle Royal still to come next week, will all these teams be thrown for a loop?

BREAKING NEWS for next week’s Dynamite!

After serving his suspension, the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil, HOOK is back! But as Stokely Hathaway still wants justice, HE gets to decide who Hook faces in a 1v1 match. The FTW Champion’s already torn into everyone in The Firm, who could Stokely possibly #SendHook?

Jon Moxley VS Evil Uno!

The Maniac has beaten just about everyone in AEW once over, which is why he’s at 99 wins! Moxley wants that distinction of being the first to 100, but will Uno not be the one? Or will Moxley strike fear in the heart of the Dark Order’s fearless leader?

We see Hangman and Uno watching as Moxley makes his entrance. Hangman pats Uno on the shoulder and sends him off, staying in the back as agreed upon. Uno heads to gorilla, and Dynamite goes to picture in picture.

Moxley finally reaches ringside and Uno makes his entrance. Dynamite returns to single picture, the bell rings, and Uno CLOBBERS Moxley! Uno stomps, throws hands, and even BITES Moxley’s forehead! The ref counts, Uno lets off and stalks Moxley to another corner. Uno CHOPS him, follows him to another corner, and CHOPS again! Fans fire up, Moxley CHOPS back! And CHOPS! And eggs Uno on, so Uno CHOPS back! Moxley ROCKS Uno, Hangman is still watching in the back, and Moxley bumps Uno off buckles. Moxley stomps a mudhole in, then stands on Uno! The ref counts, fans are torn, but Moxley lets off at 4.

Moxley storms around, but Uno CHOPS! Moxley ROCKS Uno, whips him corner to corner, but Uno comes back to BOOT Moxley! Fans fire up, Uno LASHES Moxley with his vest! Uno CHOKES Moxley with the vest, BITES him, but lets off as the ref counts. Uno ROCKS Moxley, CHOPS Moxley, runs side to side to SPLASH! And then runs side to side again for another SPLASH! Uno runs Moxley corner to corner to bump him off buckles. Fans fire up with Uno, hoists him up top, and then CHOPS! Uno climbs up after Moxley, Moxley resists and throws body shots. Moxley ROCKS Uno, and TEARS at the mask!

Fans boo but the ref counts. Moxley lets off and Uno staggers away. Moxley hops down with a smirk, but Uno runs in to BOOT him down! Moxley hits barriers and then staggers away. Uno goes up the corner!? And he SUPER SWANTONS!! Fans are thunderous and Uno throws down fists! The ref tells him to get in the ring, Uno lets off and paces around. Moxley stands, Uno ROCKS him again. Uno CHOPS Moxley, Moxley gets in the ring but Uno slides in. Fans duel, Moxley bails out but Uno pursues. Moxley kicks Uno low, then RAMS him into steel steps! Fans are torn but Moxley drags Uno back up.

Moxley puts Uno’s head on the steps to STOMP him down! Moxley soaks up the cheers and jeers while the ref reprimands. Moxley goes into the ring, says this is done, and he waits on Uno. Uno staggers up, he looks a bit bloodied, but he manages to get in the ring. Moxley runs up to BOOT Uno down! Moxley throws crossface forearms again and again and again! Fans boo and we see a crimson mask forming under the black ‘n’ purple one. Moxley finally lets off on Uno and he paces around again. Moxley stands Uno up but Uno ROCKS him! And reels him in! PILEDRIVER! And then Uno gets Moxley back up! PILEDRIVER!! Cover, TWO!!

Moxley survives and Uno’s dripping blood all over his shoulder and chest. Uno gets Moxley up but Moxley shoots around, SLEEPER! Uno reaches out but Moxley traps the arms to HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOW! SLEEPER, takedown, BULLY CHOKE!! Uno endures, reaches out, Moxley pulls tighter, but Uno is almost SPURTING blood! But still Uno stands up!! Only for Moxley to body scissor! Uno is OUT, Moxley wins!!

Winner: Jon Moxley, by submission

But Moxley isn’t letting go! He has his 100th win, but he just wants to squeeze the life from Uno quite literally! Silver & Reynolds return and they beat up on Moxley! Only for Claudio & Yuta to return and fight them off! The BCC beat down the Dark Order, but here comes Hangman!! The Cowboy waited until the match was over, and now he brawls with Moxley!! Fans are thunderous, and he takes out BARBED WIRE!! He wraps it on his hand, and BARBED WIRE DECKS Moxley!! This is just a sample of the Texas Deathmatch that’s coming! Fans fire up for the “COWBOY SH*T!” going on as Hangman RAMS Moxley into barriers, then rains down fists! Moxley is now busted open!

Hangman wants more, and he throws Moxley back in the ring! BUCK- NO, Moxley runs away! Fans boo, but Moxley grins through the crimson mask now forming on his own face. Will these two soon have the most violent match in AEW’s history?

My Thoughts:

A really good Dynamite here with a lot more set up for Revolution, but I feel like there are some things that need to be addressed. I’m not sure what is the bigger reason to not have blood in every Moxley match: the fact they do it in EVERY Moxley match; or in the case of Uno here tonight, he was losing a lot of blood. Moxley putting on the Bulldog Choke practically squeezed Uno like a ketchup packet. Outside of that, a great showing from Uno, in what was more or less a ten minute match that he wasn’t gonna win anyway. Moxley gets his 100th win, which is cool, but no surprise, he still bleeds tonight as Hangman stands tall against him, busting him open in return. I wasn’t just kayfabing, that Texas Deathmatch will be something else.

Great stuff out of that opener in Cassidy VS Yuta, it really fed into the story between them. And between Moxley trying to bleed Uno and Claudio slapping Yuta and telling him to get vicious, I feel like the BCC outside of Bryan Danielson is going to end up a Heel, and maybe Bryan leaves the group because of that. Bryan and MJF had a strong promo segment, though I feel like MJF is playing with fire essentially talking about suicidal depression and CTE. The brawl was great, though, but I feel like it should’ve been saved for the go-home segment next week. And Bryan basically stood tall here, so it definitely indicates MJF retains.

Great and hilarious promo from Starks and Jericho. Naturally, Jericho says he knows what Starks was doing and that he wouldn’t fall for it, only to fall for it. Peter Avalon wanting to answer the open challenge only to get decimated was hilarious in itself, and honestly, while odd that the onus for the rematch is put on Starks when he won the first match, there is some logic to him being so determined after all the cheap shots. But at least it’ll be truly 1v1 after the “addendum.” And good promo from House of Black to call out The Elite. The Elite will surely step up to accept the title challenge, and we’re going to get an awesome match at Revolution.

Tony Khan and Adam Cole certainly made the announcement tonight sound bigger than it was. AEW All-Access actually being a thing is nice, certainly plenty of fans want to see that stuff. There’s an audience for that with WWE doing all their different behind-the-scenes not-kayfabe stuff, so AEW surely has that, too. But the better stuff is Cole getting his return match. He could face just about anyone in that return, and then he could easily set something up for Revolution if he’s feeling up for it. Good promo from Samoa Joe to respond to Wardlow, and great sneak attack from JB, even though Christian still stood tall. Pretty sure we get two Face wins there, Wardlow taking the TNT title and JB getting even with Christian once and for all.

Saraya VS Skye was a good match but a quick one, with the more important stuff being Ruby, Britt and Hayter showing up. Good promo from Hayter and of course they set up a Triple Threat. That will probably go about the way the previous one did, where Ruby doesn’t so much side with anyone as opposed to taking her own side. Whether or not she wins the title that way, who knows. And honestly, where is Jade Cargill in all this? Even if she were to just say she doesn’t care about where Saraya came from and all that, at least it’d be integrating stories together the way AEW used to do in the early days.

Really good tag match out of Acclaimed VS Firm, and of course the Gunns try to cost The Acclaimed. Great tag team battle royal, with a lot of stories easily being developed in it. But in the end, Triple J winning out makes a lot of sense since AEW wants them to revisit their feud with The Acclaimed. Calling upon that continuity makes it even more likely, or at least makes it seem even more logical, that FTR would make their return to AEW through the Casino Tag Battle Royal and get in on the title match. They’ve got beef with Austin & Colten, they’ve wanted those AEW World Tag titles back for a long time now, this could be the way to do it.

Alternately, Best Friends probably redeem themselves from almost winning here, they worry more about getting Walter Hauser’s Golden Globe back and Acclaimed get the belts back because of it. Either way, the fans being upset in El Paso will be reconciled by a big Face win on PPV.

My Score: 8.7/10
