The Decoder has a pin on the FTW Champion! A lot of assists from The Maniac, though. Will things be different when Yuta has to fight Hook 1v1? Moxley gets a mic to tell Cassidy, “You are nothing. You ain’t never been nothing. This weekend at Full Gear, I’m gonna put the world back on its axis. It’s time for a course correction. I’m gonna grind you into dust and walk out International Champion! And there is not a damn thing you can do to stop me!” The Maniac withstood an Orange Punch, is he right that Cassidy has nothing that can take him down?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Schiavone brings up that this Saturday at Full Gear, it will be a TEXAS DEATHMATCH, and it will be brutal. We have a face to face right now, but neither man can attack the other. If there is, BOTH men will be suspended for the rest of 2023, zero tolerance! That means the match would be called off. So with that in mind, first out, Prince Nana and Swerve Strickland! The Mogul Embassy’s masterminds make their way, Nana doing that dance to Swerve’s theme. Schiavone then introduces Hangman Adam Page! The Cowboy storms right down to the ring, “Madder’n Hell” as the lower third describes, and all for good reason.
Hangman and Swerve get face to face, and Swerve grins. Schiavone reminds them of the No Physicality Clause and the consequences. So the question first goes to Swerve: How can you justify going to another man’s house- Swerve takes the mic but then Hangman snatches it from Swerve! Hangman says he’ll answer! Why did Swerve break into Hangman’s house? Because Swerve is a COWARD! A FRAUD! A PHONY! Swerve is a worthless waste of human life and a Grade A dumbass! He is dumber today than he was yesterday, and certainly dumber than two years ago, when his ass got fired! Fans feel that one!
And Swerve told Hangman that he wanted to be world champion? That he was the kind of man that people think Hangman is? Hangman looks at Swerve, and what he sees is that Swerve doesn’t have it in him. Swerve can’t cut it. Swerve is NOT the man that he thinks he is, it is why his fiancée left him, and why his kids won’t even talk to him! Fans are all fired up and Swerve is squirming but Nana keeps him back. Hangman tells Swerve that he is the one who wanted this. Swerve is a COWARD. He doesn’t surround himself with family or friends, but with Yes Men like Brian Cage & The Gates of Agony. And if he wasn’t such a dumbass, he’d realize Nana was just using him!
Nana defends he isn’t but Hangman says Nana comes out here, does his funny little dance (the fans cheer that), sells the merchandise, and he makes his living off Swerve’s back. When the show’s over, Nana goes out to the parking lots and buys weed from high school kids. Nana says no he does not! But after Hangman beats Swerve’s ass, he’s beating Nana’s ass and taking that weed. No he’s not! Wait, does that mean he does buy weed? The fans chant “Steal His Weed!” Hangman tells Swerve to look at him! Not only is Swerve not the man he thinks he is, he is practically a CHILD! And Hangman worked with kids for a long, and taught them a lot of lessons.
This Saturday, Hangman teaches Swerve the last lesson of his pathetic life. Hangman teaches Swerve that he should’ve never, ever broken into his house. And they don’t need lawyers or cops, because at Full Gear, Hangman is the judge, jury and executioner. And Hangman will take Swerve to spend an eternity in Swerve’s House, at the bottom of HELL! Hangman drops the mic, fans chant “COWBOY SH*T!” but Hangman picks the mic back up. He forgot to mention that tonight’s stipulation was that they couldn’t lay hands on each other. But Nana, they didn’t say s*it about them! So Hangman DECKS Nana!!
Hangman fires hands and Swerve’s hands are basically tied! Security rushes in to save Nana and Swerve gets Nana outta there! Hangman DECKS the security detail, then throws off his leather jacket. Swerve and Nana watch as Hangman hits a BUCKSHOT on the security guards! Hangman fired all the shots tonight, not giving Swerve a chance to even respond! Will actions speak louder than words when Swerve and Hangman go to the utmost extreme at Full Gear?
Backstage interview with Roderick Strong & The Kingdom.
Lexi Nair is with the #NeckStrong ambassadors and says after what we’ve witnessed these past few weeks, they’re claiming to know the true identity of “The Devil?” Roddy does. And he needs to tell his best friend. Call him! Matt Taven dials and puts it on the screen. It’s “ADAAAM!” Adam Cole is annoyed as he must again FaceTime on TV. Roddy asks if Cole saw his match on Collision. Yes, Cole did see that match. Yeah, Roddy sure did great, he knows. But to the subject at hand. Roddy knows who The Devil is for sure, 100%! It is still MJF. Taven & Bennett agree, but Cole tells them that they need to stop.
Cole has a lot going on but he is so tired of this. MJF is NOT the Devil. In fact, with all these accusations Roddy keeps throwing out, how do we know Roddy isn’t The Devil? The Kingdom & Roddy all get very defensive right now, and Cole is not seeing what they’re seeing. Right now, on Roddy’s life, MJF is The Devil. Well, okay, Cole’s gonna get going. Cole hangs up, Roddy shouts “ADAAAM!” Why won’t Cole listen to him? Is it because Roddy is completely wrong about Maxwell Jacob Friedman?

While Chicago Skye has been resisting Julia Hart’s control, she has still been embracing that darker side to her own benefit. PROGRAMMING REMINDER for this Friday!
With Full Gear on Saturday, where’s Collision going to go? Right before Rampage, that’s where! Collision at 8 Eastern, Rampage at 10 Eastern like always, and then the Countdown to Collision special at 11! Make sure your DVR is set so you don’t miss any of the action!
Miro speaks.
“What I said would happen is coming true. I love that woman, but she’s bringing in the storm. She wants gold and fame and fortune, and all these things that drag her under. And for years, I stood by and let her do what she wanted. But my eyes have been open for awhile now. The truth is, CJ doesn’t just bring out the worst in herself, she brings the worst out of me, too. And this week, Collision, Daniel Garcia will be the one to find out more than anybody else in this world, because I bring out the worst in me, Daniel. Can’t wait to see you dance. Because you will dance at the beginning. But you will be peaceful at the end.
“Now let The Redeemer give you a bit of advice. I don’t pray to God anymore, but you definitely should. This is the word of The Redeemer.” Miro has issued his warning, will the Dragonslayer heed it?
RJ City is backstage.
RJ is with Mariah May, and they’re outside the room of “Not Toni Storm” as he says he came through on his promise. This is going to be a wholesome fan-meets-role-model moment, how is she feeling? Mariah is so excited! Well, then go ahead. Mariah knocks on the door, Luther opens the door to shout, “Madame is indisposed!” Also the black ‘n’ white filter happens. Luther then slams the door shut, the filter goes away, and RJ says hold on. RJ knocks, Luther opens the door again and before Luther can say anything, RJ explains at incredible speed that he promised Mariah could meet Toni. Luther says fine, and Mariah steps inside.
Toni Storm lounges with a cucumber facemask. Luther speaks to Madame Storm but she says if it’s Mr. Powers, tell him they have the right film. But then Mariah speaks up and says she is a huge fan! She’s so wanted to be in the same company as her! Storm says nice to meet you, but she’s not doing autographs. They shake hands and Mariah tries to explain, she’s not just some fan. She’s a fellow wrestler! She just came from Stardom, just like Storm! And after everything Storm did there, and with everything Storm’s doing here, Mariah loves her! Didn’t catch a word of that. And let go of her hand already. Can’t you see she’s indisposed?!
Mariah says of course, so sorry! Just, if you need anything, let her know. Mariah leaves, and Storm tells Luther to call Mr. Khan. Book her a tune-up match for Friday. And fetch her a loofah. Storm goes back to resting, will she use her fangirl, Mariah, as a way to prepare for Hikaru Shida?
Samoa Joe VS Jon Cruz!
The once King of Wrestling Television abdicated that throne because he wants to fully commit to hunting down the AEW World Championship. Will Joe’s appetite be satisfied soon enough? Will Serpentico’s good pal, #HUMAN, end up an appetizer?
The bell rings, Joe and Cruz circle and they tie up. They’re in a deadlock, but only because Joe stays put as Cruz tries to push him. Cruz lets off, says okay, and he kicks. Joe blocks! And again! Winner: Samoa Joe, by submission
Fans chant for “JOE! JOE! JOE!” but he gets a mic to speak. “My name is Samoa Joe.” Fans chant for “JOE! JOE! JOE!” some more but Joe says, “And I come from Southern California.” Fans cheer again! Joe tells MJF that since they’re in Joe’s hood, Joe again extends his offer of “friendship.” And trust Joe, time is running out. MJF finds out that, Joe’s friendship or not, this is Samoa Joe, and he is inevitable! More dangerous than Thanos, will Joe take the AEW World Championship for his own one way or another?
The Young Bucks VS Komander & Penta El Zero Miedo w/ Alex Abrahantes!
Matt & Nick Jackson are putting their AEW World Tag Team Championship match opportunity on the line at Full Gear, but they might be taking too much of a risk here tonight! Will #CEROMIEDO be far too much for a tune-up? Or will the SoCal Superkick Party get started right here tonight?

Things speed up, Komander hurdles but Nick leaps over. They keep moving, Nick sidesteps Komander but Komander KICKS back! Komander runs in again, jumps and spins to wheelbarrow and arm-drag! Winners: The Young Bucks, by pinfall
Kenny Omega said last week that the Bucks are still the best tag team today, but then why did they resort to such lows? Will they have to do the same thing again on Saturday against Omega & Jericho?
Tony Khan has a message.
As delivered by Tony Schiavone on commentary, “AEW has come to terms with one of the world’s best wrestlers, someone who is known and respected by virtually every AEW fan. They’ll come to Los Angeles to sign their contract this Saturday at Full Gear.” Just who could this hot free agent signing be?
Backstage interview with The Young Bucks.
Lexi is with Matt & Nick and congratulates them on the win, but asks why they had to cheat to do it. Matt says that “sources” are telling him that The Young Bucks no longer give a damn about the rules. About what to say or not say, what to do and what not to do, and about- But wait, Kenny Omega walks in. He can’t believe they’d do that in front of their friends and family. Is that the Bucks of today? It’s the best version of them and Kenny knows it! And look who’s talking. How’d Kenny get his success, huh? The Bucks remember. Well, Kenny sure hopes they keep it clean for the PPV. The Bucks say no problem. The heat isn’t with Kenny, it’s with Jericho.
But hey, after Kenny and Jericho have their “second to last match” together, then The Elite can be a thing again. But speaking of Jericho, he walks in. He doesn’t want Kenny to waste his time with these jackasses, they have a Street Fight to win. Y’know, the one just a few nights before the Golden Jets beat the Bucks? See you later, kids. Oh, okay, is that how it is? Matt CLUBS Jericho on the back! Jericho wants to tear into Matt but security rushes in! Nick throws hands, too! Kenny gets Jericho away and shouts at the Bucks that this was just a talk! Kenny doesn’t understand what is becoming of his friends, but can he and Jericho focus on their enemies here tonight?
The Gunns w/ Juice Robinson VS Peter Avalon & Jacoby Watts!
Austin & Colten are tuning up for Full Gear and their ROH World Tag Team Championship match, ready to shoot down The Devil of AEW. Will “Pretty” Peter & #GigaWatts simply be target practice for them? Or can the Wingmen use this to jump the line and have the next shot?
The Gunns don’t even wait to sort out, they go after Avalon and Nemeth the moment they’re all in the ring together! The bell rings, the brawl is on, and Colten ROCKS Watts while Austin TOSSES Avalon! Then Watts staggers up, into 3:10 TO YUMA!! Cover, The Gunns win!
Winners: The Gunns, by pinfall
The fans still taunt the “ASS~ BOYS!” but they won so fast, the smoke from their pyro hasn’t even dissipated. Juice Robinson talks trash on Watts, then TOSSES Watts out like trash! The Gunns get the mic and Colten tells Max that this match was 2v2. Imagine what’ll happen when it’s 2v1! MJF’s friends, The Acclaimed, are gone! His best friend, Adam Cole, is gone! And those ROH World Tag Team Championships are about to be gone! Austin soaks up the heat before he says, “And if you’re not down with that, we’ve got two words for ya! GUNS UP!!” The Bullet Club Gold train is rolling down the tracks, will MJF lose it all this Saturday?
Wardlow speaks.
“I saw fear in the Devil’s eyes. Max, your time is running out. The days of the Devil ruling over this company are coming to an end. And as God as my witness, I’m gonna make the Devil my b*tch.” But then the Devil of AEW is on screen! Just who is that devil? Is he truly more dangerous than the devil we know in MJF?
Like a Dragon 8 Man Street Fight: The Don Callis Family & Brian Cage w/ Don Callis VS Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Chris Jericho & Paul Wight!
What started with scummy Don Callis betraying Kenny Omega, then brainwashing Konosuke Takeshita into joining him, then escalated as Callis then turned on his oldest friend in the world. However, while Callis amassed an army he calls “family,” he forgot that the Cleaner and the Ocho have much more reliable friends than him. Will the Golden Lovers and the once former #JeriShow chop down Callis’ rotten family tree?
Jericho waits on stage with Floyd the Baseball Bat in hand, because he wants to go down the ramp with all his teammates. The Golden Lovers make their entrance together, Callis calling them the most codependent relationship in pro-wrestling ever. But then the Giant is here in a great looking suit, and they’re ready for a fight! The DCF rushes them at the ramp and the bell rings! It is a brawl, Kyle Fletcher after Omega, Konosuke after Ibushi, and the Machine out on loan going after Chris Jericho! “Powerhouse” Will Hobbs goes after Wight but Wight sends him into the tron! Brian Cage storms up on Wight but Wight DECKS ihm!
Jericho JAMS Fletcher, CLUBS him with Floyd, then CLUBS him again! Ibushi fires off on Konosuke, Wight sends Hobbs back into the tron. Wight throws hands on Cage, Callis tries to say Jericho’s a coward for having Floyd, completely ignoring how Konosuke had his own silver bat wrapped in barbed wire a moment ago. Fletcher storms up on Wight, but Wight stops him, rips off the shirt, and CHOPS Fletcher right on flesh! Fletcher falls and fans fire up, but Wight hauls him up. Wight choke grips and aims for the floor! CHOKE SLAM through spare tables!! Callis freaks out as the Aussie Arrow might be broken!
Cage runs Ibushi down the ramp while Wight fires hands on Hobbs. Cage puts Ibushi in the ring while Jericho SMACKS Konosuke with a plastic crate! Fans fire up with Jericho, but Konosuke comes back with elbows! Cage and Ibushi brawl in the ring while Konosuke sends Jericho into railing. Cage runs, but into a RANA from Ibushi! Cage bails out, Konosuke stomps Ibushi down. Fans boo but Konosuke ROCKS Ibushi! Or not as Ibushi just glares at Konosuke. Konosuke throws more shots but Ibushi KICKS him back! Ibushi calls to Kenny and the Golden Lovers CHOP Konosuke! They double whip, then double leap frog to KICK and KOTARO KRUSHER!
Callis says that was great stuff, but then the Golden Lovers coordinate something else. They take aim, run corner to corner, GOLDEN SLASH! Direct hit on Konosuke, and direct hit on Cage! Fans fire up and wait, Hobbs and Wight have brawled their way to the parking lot? Wight SMACKS Hobbs off a car hood! And CHOPS him! Fans fire up as Hobbs sputters, but back tot he ring, Omega BOPS Konosuke with a sign! Jericho BOPS Cage with that crate! And SMACKS him on the back! Omega BOOTS Konosuke, SMACKS him with the sign, and Jericho SMACKS Cage with another sign! Fans fire up as Omega has Konosuke’s barbed bat!
Omega GRINDS the barbed wire into Konosuke’s forehead! Callis complains but it was his fault for letting Konosuke bring that out in the first place! Konosuke throws body shots to get free, and he RAMS Omega into a menu sign! Jericho has a Kiryu cutout, shoutout to Like a Dragon Gaiden for sponsoring this match, and then Jericho whips Cage. Cage reverses and Jericho hits the timekeeper’s table! Wait, Ibushi has a bicycle?! And a steel pipe?! But more importantly, a bicycle!? Flashbacks to Ibushi’s days in DDT Pro, and he wheels his way down the ramp, to BOP Fletcher with the pipe! He keeps going, and he BOPS Konosuke!
Ibushi keeps going, but Cage LARIATS Ibushi off the bike!! Callis says go ahead, call the “meat wagon,” Ibushi’s done! Back to Wight and Hobbs, they’ve gotten on top of a flatbed that is carrying all the spare wood planks that make up the ring! And Wight is still aiming for that Hyundai! But then Hobbs powers up to scoop and SLAM Wight onto the car!! Fans lose their minds and Callis laughs his ass off! Cage puts Omega in the ring, Konosuke has the bike, and he CLOBBERS Omega with it! And he CLBOBERS Jericho with it! And then he spins to CLOBBER Ibushi with it, then he CHUCKS it into Omega!
Omega flops out of the ring, Konosuke puts the bike down and he reels Ibushi in. We get a quick picture in picture as Hobbs looks down on Wight and the medics check the giant out. Konosuke suplexes Ibushi, BRAINBUSTER onto the bike!! Tire, rims and chain, all in the impact! It was double-edged for Konosuke as he clutches his shoulder, and fans lose their minds as they see the unorthodox road rash on Ibushi’s shoulder! Cage drags Omega off the apron to fire forearms as Dynamite goes picture in picture!
Cage ROCKS Omega, stomps him against railing, then digs his boots in. Konosuke is up, he brawls with Jericho, but Jericho ROCKS Konosuke and tosses him out. Jericho then pursues, and he storms up to SMACK Konosuke with a sign! Konosuke staggers around the way, leans against railing, and then Jericho TOSSES him over! Jericho climbs up, the fans rally, but Cage snap suplexes Omega to the floor! Cage storms up on Omega, throws down hands, but Jericho and Konosuke brawl their way up the bleachers. Fletcher is up and he BOPS Omega with a shovel handle! And then CRACKS him with it!
Jericho and Konosuke go up higher, they trade CHOPS back and forth, but Konosuke claws Jericho’s eyes. Cage has Floyd and he CHOKES Omega with it! Jericho and Konosuke go to the very back of the bleachers, into the pavilion, and Jericho SMACKS Konosuke with a stanchion! Cage CHOPS Omega but Ibushi CHOPS Cage! Omega CHOPS Cage, the Golden Lovers CHOP Cage over and over! Jericho brings Konosuke further along back there while the Golden Lovers use more crates to bash Cage! Jericho SMACKS Konosuke off a storefront countertop! Then he SMASHES Konosuke with a bag of popcorn!
Jericho drags Konosuke along and they go into the lounge! Konosuke throws Jericho into a cushiony chair! Meanwhile, Omega brings in a plastic palette and puts that in the ring. Omega CLUBS Cage, Dynamite returns to single picture, Fletcher is building something with chairs, and the brawl in the lounge continues. DDT to the couch! Wait, what? But back to where Hobbs and Wight are, Wight is still down on the ground and security has to keep Hobbs back. Hobbs wants Wight to get up just so he can hit him more. But Omega has a TABLE! Konosuke brings Jericho out of the lounge and SMACKS him off a trash can.
Konosuke runs up but Jericho CHUCKS the trash can lid! Fletcher SMACKS Ibushi with a sign! Fletcher and Cage coordinate, Jericho puts that trash can lid around Konosuke’s neck to then ROCK him! Fletcher breaks a sign over his knee while Jericho uses his suit jacket to CHOKE Konosuke! Cage brings out a second table! Fans fire up as those are put side-by-side, and Fletcher RAMS Ibushi into the railing. Jericho whips Konosuke but Konosuke reverses to send Jericho into a wall! Fletcher & Cage go after Omega, Omega throws hands but it’s not enough. Cage & Fletcher mug Omega, but Omega fights back as fans rally.
Jericho mugs Konosuke, SMACKS him off a wall, but Cage & Fletcher have Omega up. DOUBLE SUPLEX onto the palette! Cover, TWO!! Cage drags Omega up, Konosuke SMACKS Jericho off a Bud Light counter! Speaking of Bud Light, Fletcher has a beer bottle in hand! He breaks it to have a jagged edge! Callis likes where this is going! But Omega BOOTS Fletcher away! And he ELBOWS Cage! Konosuke SMACKS Jericho with a tall can, then cracks it open to have some refreshing Bud Light. Omega V-TRIGGERS Fletcher! Cage GERMAN SUPLEXES, but Omega flips up and out! Then SNAP DRAGON!
Konosuke digs his knees into Jericho but Omega has the beer bottle! Omega doesn’t drink beer, but he will use the glass! Fletcher ROCKS Omega first! Fletcher runs, into the BOTTLE SMASH!! Konosuke ROCKS Jericho, and Cage LARIATS Omega! Ibushi is back and he MISSILE DROPKICKS Cage down! Konosuke says he won’t just beat Jericho, he will destroy him! Callis likes that as Konosuke then gets up on the counter. And then on top of a vending machine! Konosuke runs to LEAP, into a fire extinguisher blast!! Konosuke tumbles, staggers up blindly, and into a JUDAS EFFECT!! Back to the ring, Omega’s hand is bleeding but he and Ibushi have Cage.
The Golden Lovers sit Cage up, but wait, Hobbs is back! Hobbs CLOBBERS The Golden Lovers! Fans boo but Hobbs is done with Wight so he’s back in the ring. Hobbs scoops Omega to WORLD’S STRONGEST SLAM!! Fletcher is busted open but Hobbs gives Omega to Cage. Cage has Omega at the ropes, to deadlift SUPERPLEX through the tables!!! Fans lose their minds, and Hobbs whips Ibushi to SPINEBUSTER! Hobbs snarls while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Omega and Cage writhe in the wreckage, but Jericho returns. Hobbs CHOKES Ibushi as Jericho storms down the bleachers menacingly. Hobbs CHOKES Ibushi on ropes, lets off to then stand on Ibushi, but Jericho is back, and armed with a chair! Jericho gets in, he actually gives a chair to Hobbs so this is a fair fight! Omega BREAKS that crate off on Cage, and Dynamite returns to single picture as he starts ripping up what’s left of the table! Fletcher sends Ibushi into more railing, Hobbs whips Jericho to a corner. Hobbs SPLASHES Jericho, then runs, but misses! CODE BREAKER! Cage and Omega both get in the ring, Cage fireman’s carries Jericho! F5!!

It’s about eight chairs in a square, with those menu signs across them like a table! Fletcher drags Ibushi up but Ibushi ROCKS him first! Ibushi scoops, Fletcher fights for dear life! Fletcher gut wrenches Ibushi, Callis loves this as Fletcher TOMBSTONE PIELDRIVERS Ibushi onto the signs and chairs!!! The fans lose their minds again while the ref checks both men. Winners: Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, Chris Jericho & Paul Wight, by pinfall
Wherever The Giant is right now, it’s hard to say if he feels like a winner after what Hobbs did to him. But Omega & Jericho have Ibushi calm down, the war is over. The Golden Lovers/Golden Jets celebrate, but they’ll have to turn right around to get ready for Full Gear. Will Omega & Jericho be able to beat The Bucks? Or will Saturday really be their last match as a team?
BREAKING NEWS for Collision!
It may be on a different night, but it’s still a good night for fights! Dax Harwood takes on Rush 1v1 ahead of the Fatal 4 Way for the AEW World Tag Team Championships! The Women’s Champions of AEW team up as Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander take on The Outcasts, Ruby Soho & Saraya! And just as Miro said, he is going to make an example out of Daniel Garcia!
BREAKING NEWS for Rampage!
Just 24 hours before they battle at Full Gear, both MJF and Jay White will have sit-down interviews with Renee Paquette to give some final words before their AEW World Championship match! And just as she requested, “Timeless” Toni Storm has her tune-up match, against the Queen of Joshi, Emi Sakura!
MJF is here!
The fans fire up to see the People’s Scumbag, who is clearly stressed out given everything he’s dealing with going into Full Gear. MJF says after the brutal attack on The Acclaimed last week, it is becoming very apparent that no matter how hard he tries to outrun his past, it will keep haunting him. And though he tries to better himself, every time he opens himself up and lets someone in, those people get hurt. And so, he doesn’t know, but sometimes he feels cursed. So what he wants to say to The Acclaimed is the same thing he said to Adam Cole, and that is sorry that they got caught in the crossfire that is MJF’s life. MJF is sorry that they got hurt, and he hopes they all feel better.
Fans cheer that, and MJF says ever since he can remember, all he has ever wanted to be is a world champion professional wrestler, and he has spent his entire life, every single waking, breathing moment, trying to make that a reality. He is proud to say that he has made it to the mountaintop! “But that mountaintop, it’s not all glitz and glam. You see, the air up here is thin. It’s daunting. It’s lonely. And as I look down upon this mountain, and I look in every single direction, I see men climbing with the only intention to shove me off the top. And I’m man enough to admit that I am afraid. I am afraid that I could lose everything that I’ve worked for in the blink of an eye.
“But most of all, I’m afraid that I’m gonna do to you people exactly what I did to Cole and the Acclaimed. I’m afraid I’m gonna let you guys down.” Fans say no, “You’re Our Scumbag!” MJF says the old him would’ve tucked tail and ran, but y’know what? He’s done letting his past dictate his future and his present. So yeah, he’s afraid, but that doesn’t mean he’s gonna quit. Yeah, he’s afraid, but that doesn’t mean he’s giving up his spot at the top of the mountain! Yeah, he’s afraid, but you better send a whole damn army to get him to come down!
Fans fire up and MJF tells Jay White that November 18th, White’s been walking around here with a title he has not yet earned. And now White has a chance to prove it. He has a shot at Full Gear in the Forum to take MJF’s spot at the top. But what MJF thinks is that White can’t! In fact, Cali, MJF is pretty sure NO ONE can! “Because my name is Maxwell, Jacob, Friedman. And I’m better than you, and you know it!” MJF has a message to the man who stole his Devil mask and hired those goons. Heed these words: MJF will find out just who you are, and when he does, there will be hell to pay!
But wait, here comes Jay White. The Switchblade is on stage, he has a mic, and he tells Max, “Please, please, please, you’re gonna make me sick. Just stop. Drop the act, because you are embarrassing yourself.” Fans boo but White says MJF is trying so hard to be the hero, when that’s just not who MJF is. MJF is the villain. Always have been, always will be. And MJF is not fooling anyone with the mask, the distractions and the diversions. Because we’ve heard it from MJF’s mouth time and time again that MJF IS The Devil! No one is on MJF’s level? No, no. MJF isn’t the hero, he isn’t the people’s hero, he isn’t their scumbag!
Fans boo but White says no, MJF should know better how quickly the fans will drop him because he means nothing to them. But that’s perfect, because to be honest, they must mean nothing to MJF, right? They mean nothing to MJF because he hasn’t changed! He can’t change! MJF said he knows White because they’re similar, so “brochacho,” guess that means White knows MJF. White knows MJF knows that White is speaking truth right now! And White knows that MJF knows that the days as the official AEW World Champion are numbered! MJF knows White is truly elite while MJF is not!
MJF knows White is better than MJF, and that the fans know it! And MJF knows that at Full Gear, MJF will Breathe With The Switchblade! “And if you ain’t down with that, I’ve got two words for ya! Get ’em.” Wait, what? BCG slips in from the crowd! MJF DECKS Juice, DECKS Austin, and DECKS Colten! MJF stomps away on Austin, then stomps Colten, but Juice hits the LEFT HAND O’ GOD with his TJ Maxx ring! And then 3:10 TO YUMA!! White joins his boys in the ring while fans boo, and White drags MJF up. BLADERUNNER!! White covers and Juice counts, that’s three. White holds the belt up as if he’s already won it, will MJF not survive Full Gear?
But Samoa Joe is watching, that offer still extended. Will MJF accept the help of the only “friend” he has left?
My Thoughts:
A great episode for the go-home Dynamite here, and that was a strong closing segment. MJF has a great promo but of course he gets beat down by Bullet Club Gold. Samoa Joe of course squashes his opponent and has a good promo to remind everyone that MJF can still accept his help for Full Gear. Rampage will probably be low action filler since Collision is also now on Friday for this week. MJF’s sit-down interview probably turns into him accepting Joe’s offer and they face The Gunns to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championships so MJF will be in good shape to face White in the main event.
Great opening tag from Blackpool Combat Club and #OrangeHook, especially with it starting off as a brawl. But of course BCC wins to not just give Moxley momentum but to set up Yuta VS Hook after that pin. Though, of course Yuta gets the pin, Moxley did all the work. Moxley himself says this match is to set the record straight on the International Championship but who knows given the go-home math. And I figured Skye would beat Velvet to get in on the Triple Threat, but that was still a great showing from Velvet. And I like the team-up of Shida & Statlander for Collision, that’ll be some great stuff.
Good promo with Toni Storm and Mariah May. I wonder if Mariah does have a part to play in the Full Gear match. The question is, will she help Storm win the title? Or cost her and then Storm feuds with Mariah? I feel like the fans will really hate the latter, so perhaps Storm wins the belt and takes Mariah under her wing as thanks. Hilarious promo from Roddy with Cole, and now Cole accusing Roddy of being the Devil and Roddy getting defensive could totally be teasing what I was thinking last week where Roddy IS The Devil. Roddy’s big reveal can also include how he’s been faking the bad neck, to the surprise of absolutely no one.
Great promo from Miro to add to his story with CJ and now Andrade, but of course he’ll be taking on someone else before he has his match with Andrade. Garcia is going to look great even though he’ll lose to Miro, and maybe CJ confronts Miro afterward. And Tony Khan’s written message during the Bucks VS Komander & Penta was nice and vague, but c’mon, that has to be Will Ospreay. Ospreay’s been on AEW a few times already, has had a great time, and while his NJPW contract is seemingly up after WrestleKingdom, being in AEW will keep him available for crossovers with NJPW like Forbidden Door and WrestleDream.
Speaking of the Bucks VS Komander & Penta, what an awesome tag match! PPV level right there, but of course The Bucks win to have momentum going into their PPV match with Omega & Jericho. Also good post match promo to add more heat between them and Omega as Omega stays Face but the Bucks are going Heel. And then, an amazing promo from Hangman, and I just knew he was gonna use that loophole to go after Nana. But poor Swerve, he really didn’t get any words in there. Go-home math would say Swerve wins but he already won at WrestleDream, so the math must flip Friday with Collision in order for Hangman to win at Full Gear.
And then a great Street Fight match for the Like a Dragon promotional crossover. Kudos to Wight for taking that slam off the car, I did not think he’d do that at his age. But given how many times the Don Callis Family has won overall, it makes sense this blowoff(?) goes to the Faces. No idea if Golden Jets beat The Bucks, but as I said before, it just seems a shame if Omega and Jericho stop now. Though with the Continental Classic on the way, shouldn’t Omega and/or Jericho be involved? Though, maybe not. I’m not sure if Omega and Jericho can keep up in a G1-esque round robin these days.
My Score: 8.9/10

AEW shares footage from after Saturday Night Collision.
Eddie Kingston asks them what they want him to say. He knew this was gonna be tough. Tony Khan didn’t put any scrubs in this tournament. Eddie just maybe got too cocky, thinking that since he put two belts in the pot, he was a given winner. No one deserves to win, everything is earned. Eddie has Bryan next but he’s behind the 8 ball. Eddie says he will not do this. He will not go backwards. Humble in victory and humble in defeat. Eddie has to go heal up, Epsom salt bath, all that good stuff. The Mad King vows he will be ready for the American Dragon.
Bryan Danielson responds.
Bryan says he was actually impressed by the confidence Eddie had to put up both his titles for the tournament. But now, one loss and Eddie feels he’s behind the 8 ball? Against Bryan? Bryan fractured his orbital bone, needed surgery in two places, and yet he is coming into this tournament on fire! He is NOT behind the 8 ball, he is NOT going to be humble, he is here to win this and be the first AEW Triple Crown! Will Bryan’s Blue League start be Eddie’s Blue League end?
Tony Schiavone is backstage.
He brings up that Sting’s final match is coming. AEW Revolution, Sunday, March 3rd, 2024. And when it comes to where they’ll have Sting’s final match, they thought of the many great venues across the world, but what better place for Sting’s final match than Greensboro, North Carolina and the Greensboro Coliseum? So many great Sting matches were held there, but one in particular that comes to mind is 1988, Sting VS Ric Flair for the World Heavyweight Championship. So Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina, get ready! Joining Schiavone now are those very legends, Sting and Ric Flair!
First off, 24-0, the longest win streak in AEW right now, what a fitting place for Sting to have his final match and maybe end on 25 than in Greensboro. Sting says yeah, wow, all those years ago, it was March 8th, 1988, his very first world title match against perhaps the greatest world champion of all time in The Nature Boy. Sting would’ve never guessed that night, 35 years later, we’d be here now. The memories, 45 minutes but a draw, commercial free, the first time in TV history that any sporting event even did that. But that’s not the real point of it. The big deal was being in there with Ric Flair. That was a make or break night, and so thank you, Ric, for putting Sting on the map.
Sting says yeah, that is a fitting place to end his career all these years later, Greensboro. Schiavone says so many great memories, and for him and Flair, forty years ago, does he remember? Oh, Flair knows. The words cannot be spoken to emphasize what is about to happen! Greensboro, where Sting, make no mistake, Ric didn’t make Sting a thing, Sting made himself! 45 MINUTES! Commercial free! With Flair! Unthinkable! Sting walked back there to 25 wrestlers going, “Jesus! You’re the man! You did it, Stinger!” He went out there and did it like a man! That’s what this business is all about.
Flair is 74 years old, standing next to the Icon, with his friend, Schiavone, and going back to Greensboro for what will be the greatest moment of his life, and God knows Flair’s had some good ones. He is honored to be there at Sting’s side! They shake hands, and Flair says the ACC Tournament and all that, nah, this is one for the ages! Highway 85 will be lined up from Richmond, all the way to Charlotte, like it always was! Sting, The Nature Boy, and AEW are coming to Greensboro! Let’s give it to ’em! “WOO~!” It’s the 80s all over again! Tickets on sale December 15th! IT’S SHOWTIME!
AEW Continental Classic, Gold League: Mark Briscoe VS Rush!
The Sussex County Chicken got beat by The Maniac but El Toro Blanco got cheated by the Switchblade! These animals are hungry for points, so who gets fed?

A true war right here, and now Rush is 1-1! Will this ungovernable one find a way to take over the league? As for Briscoe, he is down 0-2 with no points, is he already on the bubble?
RJ City interviews “Timeless” Toni Storm.
Madame Storm seems rather bothered by something. RJ gets her attention but she tells him to sit. And don’t be so loud. RJ does sit, and Mariah May takes the title for Storm. RJ wants to bring up the championship acceptance speech last week. Yes, and she was rudely interrupted! Yeah, that’s true. How is she feeling? Storm says they partied well into the night, spent some time at the compound, JFK or one of the Kennedys was there. But now she is very fatigued, dehydrated, and has a touch of the gout. Oh, wow. Well, he wants to inform her that she is scheduled to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship. But given her state, is she worried at all?
Worried? Was Fatty Arbuckle worried? Was Jean Harlow worried? Was Frances bloody Farmer worried? No, they all turned out fine, and so will she. Before she goes, take off her shoe, she’s feeling swollen. RJ does take off her shoes for her, but will Storm have to focus before someone takes the title off her?
MJF is here!
Fans cheer as the AEW World Champion walks out here with the help of his cane, mic in the other hand. He has them cut his music, he gets into the ring, and the fans cheer him on. MJF gets right to it as he says “December 30th, Nassau Coliseum, Worlds End, it will be Samoa Joe VS yours truly for the grandest prize of ’em all, The Triple B, the AEW World Championship.” Fans cheer that, and MJF wants to be honest, though. When it comes to Joe as a person, eeeeeeh MJF doesn’t like him. But when it comes to Joe professional, MJF respects him.
MJF respects what Joe has done for the industry, and most importantly, when Joe came into AEW, he didn’t come here to line his pockets, he came here because he believes in those three letters. Fans cheer for “A E DUB! A E DUB!” and MJF says back in the early 2000s, MJF remembers getting a poster in his mailbox and it was for TNA Wrestling. And he remembers thinking, what even is this all about? He tuned in and couldn’t have been happier. He saw insane feats of athleticism, he saw a new cast of pro-wrestlers he’d never heard of before, but most of all, he saw one man among the rest, and that was the Samoan Submission Machine.
While Samoa Joe may’ve looked unconventional, he didn’t seem to care, and neither did any of the fans. Because every time Joe walked through the curtain, we knew he was the baddest man walking on God’s Green Earth. Now unfortunately, later on in his career, Joe’s talents were not recognized and he was not afforded the opportunity to be a world champion in the WWE. Fans boo, but MJF says what Joe did for this sport was bigger than that. “Joe proved you don’t have to be a massive male model bodybuilder to be a top guy in this sport. Samoa Joe broke the mold. Samoa Joe proved alternatives matter.
“And because of the road that Joe paved, it has allowed for a man like me to stand before you today. Without a guy like Joe, there may be no AEW. So Joe, very quickly, what I’d like to say, as much as this all pains me to admit, thank you.” Fans cheer that and join in, “Thank You, Joe! Thank You, Joe!” Yes, thank you, Joe! However… MJF has actually, though grateful to have gone down the road Joe paved, MJF isn’t too shabby himself, now is he? Fans cheer that. MJF managed to pave his own road, and built on a new alternative. He is AEW day one, and he has helped build this place brick by brick! Fans cheer “M J F! M J F!”
MJF says he did that by defeating some of the biggest names in this industry! Names like Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega. But of all the names MJF has had to face in this ring, the one name he looks back on, and not only was he lucky to win, he was lucky to survive, that is Joe. Samoa Joe is a wrestling legend. But December 30th is not about Joe’s legacy. It’s about MJF’s! December 30th is about answering the question, “Can Max Friedman outlast the Final Boss of this sport one more time?” So now, MJF is gonna make a promise. He promises to everyone watching at home and everyone here in this arena.
MJF promises that on December 30th, it doesn’t matter if his left knee keeps sliding in and out, if his right hip keeps popping in and out of socket, if his right shoulder is hanging on by a threat, or if Joe beats him within an inch of his life. Joe could be King Kong and Godzilla incarnate. Because MJF promises that on December 30th, he shows the world that it is not about the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog! And if you want to take what’s his… at Worlds End, you’ll have to put MJF down! MJF even breaks his cane!! Fans fire up with MJF, but then the lights go down.
Now there are lights blinking all over the place. MJF looks around, but THE DEVIL’S MINIONS ATTACK! Fans boo as one of them has a baseball bat!! But here comes Joe!! Joe said he’d have MJF’s back so here he is! He YANKS the big guy out, gets that bat, and he runs the rest off! Cameras have trouble here, but when things come back, a message types out on screen. “In the shadows, our game begins. Next week, MJF & Samoa Joe… will you face the unknown in a tag match? Are you a hero, Max?” The Devil has made his challenge to the champ! The fans chant “DO IT! DO IT!” and “He’s Our Scumbag!” Joe tries to get MJF to ignore all this, it’s what this Devil wants!
But MJF says “I’m so sick of your Scooby-Doo BS! LEMME EXPLAIN SOMETHING TO YOU! I am not dealing with your crap when I got that guy breathing down my neck at Worlds End. No no. I am going to take out all of your men, one by one. I am going to unmask you, you coward! And next week, you wanna tag match?! YOU’RE ON!!” Joe isn’t for it, but the challenge has been accepted. Will Joe just have to save MJF from himself?
Wardlow VS AR Fox!
Speaking of someone who wants to take everything away from MJF, the War Dog is on the warpath, just waiting for the right moment. After what we just saw, is MJF going to be served up on a silver platter?
But wait! Fox BOOTS Wardlow down off the apron! And then FLIES out! But Wardlow stays up! So Fox FLIES again! Direct hit but Wardlow is still up! Wardlow HEADBUTTS Fox, then whips him at the apron. Fox 619s on the apron to hit back! And then he goes up the corner to MOONSAULT, but Wardlow catches him! SLAM on the apron, and then Wardlow box jumps up to the apron. Wardlow storms in, fans rally up, and Wardlow drags Fox up for an OVERHEAD BELLY2BELLY! Now with both men in the ring, the bell finally sounds and this is actually a match. Wardlow storms up on Fox in the corner, to then TOSS him across the way!
Fox flounders out of the ring and Wardlow is having fun now. Wardlow goes out to stalk Fox, CLUB him on the back, and the ring count climbs. Wardlow hauls Fox up to TOSS him back in! Fans rally, Wardlow storms back in, and Wardlow drags Fox up. Fox shoves Wardlow but Wardlow CLUBS him! Wardlow trophy lifts, but Fox slips free! Wardlow runs in, but only gets buckles as Fox slips out to the apron! Fox swings to dropkick, then he goes up to 450 SPLASH! Cover, ONE!! Wardlow snarls and Fox is stunned! Fox runs in to BOOT! Wardlow doesn’t budge so Fox BOOTS him again! And again! Fox runs, but Wardlow pops him up for a SPINEBUSTER!
Wardlow winds up, to LARIAT Fox down! Wardlow then hauls Fox up, POWERBOMB! The symphony begins as fans want more! Wardlow drags Fox up, reels him back in, another POWERBOMB! And then Wardlow goes up the corner, to SWANTON BOMB!! Fans fire up and Wardlow still isn’t done! He reels Fox back in, to LAST RIDE POWERBOMB!!! The ref checks, Fox is OUT! Wardlow wins!
Winner: Wardlow, by pinfall
The remixed Powerbomb Symphony was too much for Fox, and Wardlow storms off. When and where will Wardlow sink his teeth into MJF?

Backstage interview with Action & Top Flight.
Renee is with them and congratulates them on the big win. So good to see Dante back, how is that leg? But then Penta El Zero Miedo and Alex Abrahantes step in. Penta offers a fist bump, and Dante accepts. They’re all good given Penta was responsible for the broken leg in that Reach for the Sky Ladder match. But then Penta counts, one, two, three. Bring ’em in. Komander and El Hijo Del Vikingo join Penta, that makes one, two, three. And Cero Miedo! Dante nods, when and where will we see this top tier trios match go down?
AEW TBS Championship House Rules Match: Julia Hart VS Emi Sakura!
The Princess of the Black Throne successfully defended her gold on Collision against Lady Frost, but now she takes on the Queen of Joshi! And for this match, Dealer’s Choice says submissions can NOT win the match! Then if Julia can’t be Hartless, will she just have to be ruthless?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if the House Always Wins!
The bell rings and fans rally up behind Julia. Julia soaks it up, but Emi laughs at it. Emi and Julia smirk as they stare down, then they approach. Fans fire up and the ref checks Julia as Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Emi then takes a seat on security’s lap before she storms up on Julia. Emi brings Julia around to CHOP against railing! Then Emi brings Julia over to send into more railing, and CHOP again! Emi puts Julia in the ring, drags her around and dragon sleepers! TWISTING DDT! Cover, TWO! Julia is still in this but Emi pushes her to a corner. Backstage interview with Mariah May.
RJ City is with Miss May and says we saw her at Full Gear and last week, but we also know she’s here, hungry for more. Mariah says yes she is. She knows she’s the new girl and all, but she did just come from Stardom, and she had quite the run. She is dying to show us what she can do. So thanks for connecting her with Toni Storm. RJ says it’s nothing, he and Toni go way back, used to play squash together. No, really, RJ is quite the curator. And Mariah knows Toni likes him, so this means the world to her. No, no, Toni makes things happen. He’s just happy to help. Mariah seems a bit disappointed, but RJ says without further ado, go get ’em!
Mariah knocks on Tony Khan’s door, steps inside, and talks with the boss. Will this Tony be just as accommodating as Toni Storm?
Christian Cage is here!
The TNT Champion, the Patriarch, makes his way to the ring, security right behind him. Captain Charisma then gets a mic while the fans boo, and he says what he’d like to do right now is go ahead and invite the Rated R Superstar to this ring right now. Fans fire up for that, and Christian says he knows Edge is back there. Fans shout “ADAAAAM~!” and Christian says he just wants to talk about what Edge said on Collision. So if Edge doesn’t mind making his presence felt, Christian would appreciate it. But still no response? Did Christian make sure to do this when Edge isn’t here?
Christian waits, gets upset, and asks Adam “ADAAAM~!” that he’d like to speak with him in this ring. Please, someone, hit the mic, get Adam’s attention, something. Or should Christian go back there to speak with him? “You think you know him.” And here comes Edge!! Fans fire up as Edge storms into the ring, and of course the security becomes a wall in front of Christian. Edge paces and Christian says listen, management wanted this, not him. Fans boo that garbage, but Christian says they don’t need security. He asks these men to vacate the ring. They shrug and bail out, even though Edge looks ready to pounce.
Christian brings up that last week, Edge challenged him to a match for the TNT Championship on December 6th, Dynamite in Montreal. Christian is here to tell Edge that they won’t make it to Montreal. They get face to face and fans fire up. Christian says they won’t make it to Montreal because “I’m sorry.” What? Edge is also confused, and Christian says he knows what we’re all thinking. Christian is only sorry because he’s all alone, right? Fans confirm and they chant “BULL~ SHID!” at him! Christian asks them to understand. Edge took out “The Prodigy” Nick Wayne, he took out Killswitch/Luchasaurus, but that’s not why Christian’s sorry.
He won’t lie, he was pissed about what Edge did to Lucha- er, Killswitch, with not one but two Con-Chair-Tos. Christian was so mad, he jumped out of his house, got in his car and just drove around. He needed to think, needed fresh air. And somewhere during that trip, it turned into one of reflection. It turned into a roadtrip of soul searching, digging down deep, trying to understand why he became the person that he is, this guy who says and does such unsavory things. And then he remembered those times he and Edge would borrow Christian’s mom’s Ford Taurus. They nicknamed it “Toby the Taurus” because they took it everywhere when they were trying to make it.
They didn’t care where they went, they were broke, not a dime to their names, but they didn’t care. They were having the time of their lives! They knew they were gonna make it. They didn’t know how, but they knew they would. And dammit, did they ever make it, huh? They went on to become multiple-time tag team champions, and Christian will say it, the greatest tag team that ever lived! Fans do cheer that. Christian and Edge then became multiple time world champions, two of the greatest careers in this sport. But take the wrestling away, and it runs even deeper. Everyone knows Edge grew up with a single mom. Everyone knows that Edge didn’t have a father figure.
Fans boo, already sensing where this is going! Christian wants Edge to listen! Yes, he is the Patriarch of AEW, but in no way is he suggesting he’s Edge’s father. Christian is Edge’s brother. And in turn, Christian’s father became like Edge’s father. Edge went on family trips, sat at the dinner table, slept over! When Edge needed discipline, Christian’s dad treated him the same as his own kids. He picked Edge up, brushed him off, hugged him and cheered him on. To this very day, he is still Edge’s biggest fan. So listen, Christian will just say it. They weren’t just random guys thrown together. “I love you, man.” Fans boo that one!
Christian says they’re family. And listen, when Edge’s mom passed a few years ago, that was the hardest time of Edge’s life. Christian knows that. But some time before, she said, “What I wouldn’t give to see you guys in that ring, teaming one last time.” Christian started thinking, that they should do this for her! Let’s go on the journey together again, like Edge wanted! Edge & Christian, for Judy “Judemeister” Copeland! Let’s do it for her! Fans cheer for Judy, but Edge is conflicted. Christian drops the mic, holds the belt, and then rushes Edge! Edge LOW BLOWS Christian first!! Fans cheer as Christian leans on Edge in pain.
Christian slumps down and Edge lets him fall. Fans want that one more time, but Edge gets the mic. “Nice try, dumbass.” Edge tells him to sit up when he’s talking. Edge grabs the belt, tells Christian to shine it up real nice. Hell, sleep with it if he wants. Because next week, the title’s coming home with Edge! Oh, and one more thing, Edge almost forgot. G F Y!! Fans are thunderous as Edge takes his leave. Will Edge crush Christian’s spirit as payback for everything he’s said and done?
AEW Continental Classic, Gold League: Jay White VS Swerve Strickland!
The Switchblade and the Realest are both 1-0 with three points, and now they are going to battle in what could be the decisive battle in this block! With no Juice Robinson, no Ass Boys, no Prince Nana or Brian Cage, who will prove to be the slipperiest snake in all of AEW?

White tosses Swerve out, then goes out to CHOP! White then RAMS Swerve into railing, mocks Nana’s dance, but Swerve throws hands! Swerve runs and RAMS White into railing! Fans fire up and security helps Swerve, but then White drags him back in. White puts Swerve in the ring, mockingly asks, “Whose House?” and he stomps Swerve. White wrenches the arm, CLUBS it, and then CHOPS! White again mockingly asks, “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” White CHOPS Swerve, but Swerve BOOTS back! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Swerve whips, White holds ropes, then he dumps Swerve out. But Swerve pulls hair! White HOTSHOTS Swerve, builds speed and slides, but Swerve catches him to BACK SUPLEX White into the front row! Fans are getting a much more interactive experience than expected!
Swerve drags White back up, White grabs at fans desperately, but the fans can’t do anything for him as Swerve dumps White back over. Swerve pushes White around, goes up the apron, and then he FLYING STOMPS White down! Fans fire up, Swerve puts White in, and then aims from the apron. But White gets a leg in the ropes! Swerve claws at White, pushes him away, but White BOOTS Swerve, then DRAPING DDTS! Fans rally for Swerve but White drags Swerve up to CHOP! Fans “WOO~!” and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
White sits Swerve up again, to CHOP him back down! White drags Swerve up again, goes up a corner, and mocks Swerve, to then hop back down and CHOP again! Swerve writhes, White drags him up, and White TOSSES Swerve out of the ring. White goes out after Swerve, but he CHOPS back! Swerve then clinches to hit a BACKBREAKER! White writhes, Swerve goes up to the apron again, and he BOOTS White back down! Fans rally up, Swerve drags White into the ring, and then clamps on a cording hold. White grabs ropes, the ref counts, Swerve takes a swing, but White EXPLODERS Swerve up and out!
White goes out after Swerve, hauls him up, and APRON GOURD BUSTERS! Swerve writhes and flounders but White refreshes the ring count. White then RAMS Swerve into steel steps! Swerve gets in the ring, White pursues and covers, TWO! White clamps onto Swerve’s bad arm, then traps the other, and he stretches Swerve out as Dynamite returns to single picture. Swerve fights up, but White throws him down by hair! White again mocks the chant, “Whose House?” Bryan commends Swerve on toughness. He had a brutal Texas Deathmatch with Hangman Page, and the only thing taped up is that arm.

And then a gator roll into a deadlift suplex! Fans fire up as Swerve covers, TWO!! White survives and Swerve grows frustrated. Fans still rally up behind Swerve, and he grabs White’s wrist. White resists but Swerve still drags him up.
White reaches out, kicks Swerve’s legs, then gets free. White swings, Swerve dodges and comes back, COMPLETE SHOT from White! White then waistlocks to deadlift GERMAN SUPLEX! White runs up, but Swerve DISCUS LARIATS! Fans are thunderous while both men are down and Bryan says, “How incredible are these two men?!” A standing count starts, both men stir, and White flounders to ropes. “This is Awesome!” as White comes back, he and Swerve go forehead to forehead, and they trade junkyard dog headbutts. Swerve laughs, White throws hands! Swerve throws them back! They go back and forth, faster and faster!

Winner: Swerve Strickland, by pinfall (gains 3 points; White earns 0)
White is shocked that he got beat! The #Jay1 aside, these points go to The Realest! Will the Gold League soon be whose house?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite, with awesome Continental Classic matches. But also really good non-tournament matches, such as that Trios Match. Great return to action for Dante Martin, great win for him and his trio, and those three could really build themselves up into trios title contenders with matches like this. And really good TBS Championship match Julia and Emi, though they need to get better at bringing up how House Rules work. No Ropebreaks, the ring count is to 20, and there’s Dealer’s Choice. They just kinda threw out there that this was gonna be a No Submission Falls, which was honestly a brilliant move by Emi. But in the end, of course Julia wins, it’s still too early for her to lose this belt.
Wardlow squashing- heck, he demolished AR Fox, is fine for Wardlow but a shame for Fox. Wardlow is still staying strong as he waits for the right moment to go after MJF again, but maybe, just maybe, he’s been going after MJF all along as that big guy among the “gimp squad” that tried to get MJF tonight. Great promo from MJF to not just praise Joe but also bury Punk without having to actually reference Punk going back to WWE. Joe made the save as expected, and now they’re getting dragged into a tag match against any two of those goons, and who knows who they are really, but can’t wait to see how this all goes.
Awesome stuff from Christian and Edge tonight, a brilliant move for Christian to so blatantly play to Edge’s emotions just to save his own ass. But of course it was also brilliant for Edge to not fall for it at all and get the better of Christian. But uh, AEW needs to be better at live censoring their shows, that GFY got right past them. That aside, that TNT Championship match is going to be awesome stuff, could go either way, but I still want to see Luchasaurus betray Christian and finally become his own man-dinosaur. Not Jack Perry’s tag partner, not Christian’s henchman, but his own man doing his own stuff.
And as I said at the start, awesome Continental Classic matches. Bryan Danielson also being on commentary for these was a good move, that could easily be a thing he does after he retires, except I think part of retiring is staying home with the family. Anyway, Moxley VS Lethal was a great opening match, and I figured Moxley would win that. Maybe Lethal realizes he really has let Team Triple J weaken him with all their antics. Rush VS Briscoe then raised the bar, though with a somewhat scary moment where I thought Rush took a shot to the head but it was really a concern for his leg. Rush winning was a fair choice, and that puts pressure on a possible 0-2 VS 0-2, Lethal VS Briscoe in the next round. I say “possible” because Tony Khan doesn’t reveal the entire schedule at once.
And then just an awesome, borderline PPV level match of Swerve VS White. The fans were strongly behind Swerve, I was behind Swerve, so it’s great to see Swerve get to 2-0. Swerve’s becoming my top choice for Gold League and maybe even the entire thing. Swerve having the ROH World, NJPW Strong Openweight and the AEW Continental Championships, he could really do a lot with traveling between the three brands. Mogul Embassy is already in ROH given they’re ROH World Six Man Champions, and the Gates are in NJPW right now for World Tag League, so Swerve joining them pretty much everywhere, all four of them having belts, that’s great stuff to me.
My Score: 9/10

- Andrade El Idolo: Yet to Compete
My Thoughts:
Nothing too crazy, nothing too wild, this tournament only just got started. The only disappointing point is that they could not get Bryan “cleared to compete” Saturday night. Not sure how much of that is shoot given the bad eye, but this was kinda the problem of wanting him in the tournament over tons of other choices. Bryan wants to face Okada for WrestleKingdom 18, how is Bryan supposed to do that at his best if he’s also gonna be in a round robin, doing five top level matches in about as many weeks? And it takes away from Andrade being able to do something. Also a little surprised we didn’t even hear from Andrade on Saturday.
Now as we heard on Saturday, round two’s matches are set. Gold League will see Mark Briscoe VS Rush, White VS Swerve, and of course, Moxley VS Lethal. Nice variety there, a couple 0-1 guys facing off, as well as two 1-0 guys, and then 1-0 VS 0-1. No offense to Lethal, but he feels like an 0-2 going up against Moxley. Hard to call the other ones but that’s the fun of it. Meanwhile, Blue League sees Brody VS Claudio in a showdown to be 2-0, then Bryan and Andrade finally jump in, Bryan against Eddie and Andrade against Garcia. Sadly, feels like Eddie and Garcia are going 0-2, no way Tony Khan is booking Bryan and Andrade to lose their first shots.
In fact, that could be half the reason they did wait on those two, that’s almost too good for just a first round opener. But I still would’ve done it, same as NJPW does stuff like that for round robins, which this is all modeled after anyway.
