Backstage interview with MJF.
Tony Schiavone welcomes in the true AEW World Champion ahead of his defense against Daniel Garcia, and MJF says, “Tony Schiavone, how’re you doing, ya fat old pr*ck?” Schiavone is doing well… But Schiavone wants to talk about how he feels about getting pinned by Jay White last week. MJF cuts Schiavone off there. “Three seconds is all it takes to end a world title reign. No one else has been able to do it, so congratulations, Jay, I want you to savor those three seconds, because it is NOT happening again.” Wait, MJF is getting a call? Adam Cole? MJF goes with video chat and syncs it to the nearest screen.
Cole’s face appears and MJF asks Cole what’s going on. Is he okay? Yeah, everything is fine, but Cole is just worried. It kills Cole he can’t be there to help MJF, but he will say this as MJF’s best friend. Full Gear is coming up and there’s the ROH World Tag title match against the Gunns, and… Okay, Cole knows MJF won’t want to hear this, but Cole thinks MJF has to take Samoa Joe up on his offer. Again with this? MJF says Adam’s been bringing this up all week. MJF is not picking Joe, it’s not happening, and MJF doesn’t need him! He can defend their titles alone against the Gunns. MJF will take care of the whole Bullet Club Gold after he deals with Garcia.
But then in walks Daniel Garcia, Matthew Menard & Angelo Parker. Garcia says, “Oh, you’re gonna handle me? You’re gonna handle me?” MJF wants Danny to calm down so they can talk. Why do you think MJF agreed to this world championship match? Because of Garcia’s “perfect” win-loss record? No, don’t think so. It’s because MJF believes in Garcia. He sees a bit of himself in Garcia, back when MJF used to listen to the “veterans” of this business, telling him how to run his business. MJF has proven that it is talent over tenure, and tonight he wants to give Garcia that same opportunity to do the same.
So here’s a question for him: Is MJF getting Danny Garcia, the sports enner-tay-ner? Or is he getting the professional wrestler? Garcia says tonight, MJF gets that pro-wrestler. MJF nods and the X-JAS head out. But then Roderick Strong rolls in with The Kingdom shouting for “ADAAAM~!” Cole sighs and Roddy is sure everyone already knows this, but Roddy is a wrestling legend. And he could easily give MJF some tips. MJF says what’s funny is that Roddy was a wrestling legend. But now, he has turned into a complete joke. MJF tells Cole that he’s gotta go, talk to him later. Cole says MJF’s got this, but Roddy again shouts “ADAAAM~!”
Roddy asks if Cole saw that. That is exactly what The Devil would do, dude! He would walk away! Roddy is telling Cole, that- Cole hangs up! Roddy seethes, and he says it is time. It is time to remind everyone exactly who the hell he is! Will the Savior of the Backbreaker prove he is truly a #NeckStrong wrestling legend?
AEW World Championship: MJF VS Daniel Garcia w/ Matthew Menard & Angelo Parker!
As we just heard, this really will be the actual AEW World Champion taking on an actual pro-wrestler! But will The People’s Scumbag still be their champion? Or will Red Death take his place at Full Gear against Jay White?
The introductions are made, the belt is still absent because of White’s thievery, but the winner here will look to take it back in Los Angeles!
The bell rings, the fans are all fired up for MJF, and the two circle. They tie up, MJF headlocks but Garcia wrenches out. MJF rolls, wrenches, and uses a leg to hook Garcia to spin and wrangle him. MJF traps an arm and goes for a leg! Garcia scrambles to the ROPEBREAK! MJF lets off quickly but says that’s one. And then MJF mocks the Garcia dance. Fans fire up and MJF revels in it. MJF tells Garcia to prove why he’s the future. They tie up, Garcia spins MJF and snapmares to chinlock. Fans chant “He’s Our Scumbag!” while MJF slips out but Garcia floats all over him. They end up in the ropes and the ref counts.
Garcia lets off and SLAPS MJF on the back of the head. Garcia hits the stance, but both Menard & Parker tell him to not do the dance! MJF says okay, Garcia’s still listening to his daddies, that’s fine. The two tie up, MJF puts Garcia in a corner but Garcia turns it around. The ref counts, Garcia pushes but lets off, and MJF applauds that. That’s the Garcia he wants! The two go again, and MJF says “Sportsmanship!” Fans chant for “Sportsmanship! Sportsmanship!” as MJF offers the handshake. Garcia sighs, but he puts his hand out, to SLAP the hand away! And then he hits the stance, but MJF pokes him in the eyes!
Fans cheer and MJF soaks it up with a big smile. Garcia swings wild but MJF wrenches and hammerlocks to scoop and SLAM! Garcia writhes from landing on the arm, but MJF clamps on. MJF tells Garcia to show us what he’s got, and Garcia endures. MJF eggs Garcia on but Garcia fights up. Garcia throws hands and forearms, then runs, but he KICKS MJF’s back drop away! Garcia wrenches, MJF wrenches back and WRINGS the arm out! MJF then clamps on, but Garcia rolls, only for MJF to wrench and gut wrench to a SIDE SLAM! Cover, TWO! MJF smirks and applauds that Garcia survived that unique move, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
MJF stomps Garcia’s bad arm, taunts Daddy Magic & Cool Hand Ange, then wraps Garcia’s arm around the ropes. Garcia endures, the ref counts, and MJF lets off at 4. MJF brings Garcia up to wrench the arm to an ELBOW BREAKER! MJF whips corner to corner and WRINGS Garcia out! Garcia writhes, MJF paces, and MJF goes back to Garcia. MJF stomps Garcia, drags him up, and wrenches him down to drop knees on the arm! MJF clamps onto the arm but Garcia fights the double wristlock. MJF drags Garcia up to YANK the arm, then whips him corner to corner, to WRING him out again! The ref checks Garcia while Menard & Parker coach him.
MJF drags Garcia up and keeps on that arm. Garcia hits back with forearms, but MJF pokes the eyes! Garcia goes to the apron, MJF drags him back in and whips corner to corner. But Garcia reverses and MJF hits buckles hard! Both men are down, Dynamite returns to single picture and the fans rally up. Both men rush in, Garcia dodges to CHOP! Garcia fires off forearms, and body shots, and he hammers away in the corner! The fans fire up with Garcia but MJF pokes him in the eyes again! MJF runs up but into a GERMAN SUPLEX! MJF flounders around, fans fire up with Garcia, as he DOES HIS DANCE! Even with one arm!
Garcia runs to DOUBLE KNEE, then roll to a deadlift BRAINBUSTER! Cover, TWO! MJF is still in this but Garcia drags MJF up. Garcia reels MJF in but MJF back drops! Cover, TWO! MJF swings, into a backslide! TWO, and Garcia gets MJF again! But the bad arm won’t let him lift! MJF SLAPS and SLAPS that arm, but Garcia clamps on! MJF breaks free but Garcia SLAPS him! And hits a SAIDO! MJF flounders to a corner, Garcia runs in, but MJF dodges! The knees hit buckles, and MJF goes up to DOUBLE STOMP the bad arm! Fans rally, MJF reels Garcia in to underhook, and SHOULDER BUSTER! SUPERKICK!
MJF reels Garcia back in, hammerlock and lift, for a ELEVATED DDT!! Cover, TWO!! Garcia is still in this but MJF smiles because he’s getting the pro-wrestler after all. Garcia kicks MJF from below but fans rally up. MJF goes for the arm, Garcia goes to ropes! The ref counts, MJF lets off fast and Garcia goes to the apron. So MJF brings Garcia in, slashes his throat, but Garcia throws MJF away. MJF goes to a corner, Garcia runs in but MJF pops him up to SUPERKICK him down! MJF then pushes Garcia, goes up the corner, “ADAM~!” But Garcia avoids the sunrise and the leg jams! Garcia BOOTS that leg, and DROPKICKS the other leg!
Fans fire up as Garcia hauls MJF back up, but between the bad arm and MJF being dead weight, he can’t do it. Fans rally and duel, Menard & Parker coach Garcia to put MJF away, and Garcia tries again. Garcia lifts, with one arm! PILEDRIVER!! Cover, TWO!!! MJF survives but Garcia steps through! DRAGONTAMER!! Fans are thunderous as Garcia does his best with the one good arm! MJF endures, Garcia dances his way into the bridge! But MJF grabs the bad arm and drags him down! SALT OF THE EARTH!! Garcia reaches back with the good arm, but MJF cranks back! Garcia TAPS, MJF wins!
Winner: MJF, by submission (still AEW World Champion)
MJF slays the Dragonslayer, but he brought out that fire inside Garcia! And because he’s learning to be a better person, MJF has his music cut so he can offer a genuine handshake to Garcia! Fans cheer that, but Garcia is hesitant. Garcia goes to genuinely take the handshake, but Parker & Menard stop him!? Fans boo but MJF asks if Garcia is gonna do this. Is Garcia really going to keep following Menard? Fans cheer for “DANNY! DANNY!” Garcia pushes past Menard but Menard pulls him back! The X-JAS head out together, so MJF takes the cheering for his own.
MJF warns Jay White that if he makes it through Mark Briscoe, he’s next! Will Full Gear’s main event stay as advertised? Or will King Switch get caught by the Sussex County Chicken?
Mark Briscoe speaks.
“Jay White, it’s been awhile since we’ve locked horns in the squared circle. We met many a time in tag team action, but this’ll be the first time one-on-one, Mark Briscoe VS Jay White. Jay, I remember when you was just cuttin’ teeth in the pro-wrestling business. I remember when you was sucking on the proverbial pro-wrestling teet. Back then, you couldn’t grow a beard if you wanted to. Look at ya now. Lookin’ like a grown ass rat! But you ain’t no man, cuz you got your henchmen, you got your little clowns doin’ your biddin’. But that’s aight, cuz I’m ready! From every angle, from every direction, the Sussex County Chicken, baybaby! Big Chicken in the big city, baybay! I’ma whoop dat ass!”
Darby Allin & Sting VS The Outrunners!
The Relentless Icons are ready to get Rated R with Adam Copeland in LA, but they’re going to tune-up here in Stumptown! Will they cut their opponents down like trees? Or will Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum prove they ain’t seen nothin’ yet?
The teams sort out and Darby starts against Truth. They circle, tie up, and Darby headlocks. Truth powers up but Darby holds on tight. Truth pulls hair, fights up, but Darby hits a headlock takeover. Truth fights up, powers out and tags in Turbo, but Darby BLASTS Turbo first! Truth CLOBBERS Darby, then the Outrunners mug Darby. The ref reprimands, fans chant “We Want Sting!” but Turbo tags in Truth. Truth taunts Sting while Turbo digs his boots in, and then Truth stomps Darby! Tag back to Turbo, and Truth holds Darby in place for Turbo to ROCK him! Turbo keeps Darby from Sting, wrenches and whips, but Darby BLASTS Truth!
Turbo runs in to kick Darby low, then reels Darby in. Turbo copies Macho man but fans boo. Turbo suplexes, but Darby throws knees! Darby tags Sting while upside-down! Fans fire up as Darby and Sting pinball Turbo with CHOPS and backhands! Sting then runs to clothesline Turbo up and out! Fans fire up and Darby builds speed, but Truth trips him! Fans boo, Truth RAMS Darby into barriers and Turbo CLUBS Sting! The Outrunners mug Sting, Turbo tags Truth in, and they whip Sting to DOUBLE ELBOW! The Outrunners spin and gloat, but uh, Sting didn’t even budge… Sting watches them flex, and then he fires off LARIAT after LARIAT!
The Outrunners go to opposite corners, Darby returns, and Darby COFFIN SPLASHES Turbo while Truth gets the STINGER SPLASH! Then Darby & Sting trade, Coffin Splash for Truth and Stinger Splash for Turbo! Then Darby feeds Truth to Sting’s HAYMAKER! Darby tosses Turbo, Sting puts Truth in the SCORPION DEATHLOCK! Fans are thunderous, Truth TAPS, Sting & Darby win!
Winners: Darby Allin & Sting, by submission
The Relentless Icons are rolling, and now they join Adam Copeland this Saturday on Collision in a Trios match against Lance Archer & The Righteous! Will the three icons make it work against Vincent, Dutch & The Murderhawk Monster? Or will Jake The Snake’s new stable steal the glory from Christian Cage and retire Sting early?
Sit-down interview with Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida.
Tony Schiavone assures us not to adjust our televisions, this is in black ‘n’ white at the behest of #TimelessToni. And it is Schiavone’s understanding that Miss Storm has made the challenge for the AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear. “That is correct, Mr. Shavon.” And Hikaru Shida, the first three-time AEW Women’s World Champion, four successful defenses already, and has never been pinned or submitted this entire year. What are her thoughts? Shida flat out asks what happened to Storm. She wants the title? Don’t think so. She just wants more attention for her silly acting!
Storm tells Shida that Shida happened to her! Storm was meant to walk into Wembley Stadium with the title and then Shida happened. And Storm thought it’d be fine, dust off the knees and get up, so that she could become the first-ever Three-Time Women’s World Champion! Then Shida happened again! Well, Shida doesn’t happen anymore! Storm happens! She couldn’t make history, but she became history! Shida may have that title now, but she will never have the spotlight. Because it belongs to Storm! Storm takes the contract from Schiavone, signs her part, and hands it back. So “Hic-a-roo,” let’s make this simple, and wrap it up at five.
Shida says she doesn’t understand, but she still signs. And what will happen is what always happens! Shida beats Storm. Very well. But there is a saying in show business: chin up, chest out, and watch for the shoe! Shida snatches that shoe and throws it away. Will Storm snatch that title away in her Hollywood Homecoming? Or will this tiebreaker go to the Shining Samurai?
Swerve Strickland w/ Prince Nana VS Penta El Zero Miedo w/ Alex Abrahantes!
The leader of Mogul Embassy put AR Fox in the rear mirror, but his past is still coming back to haunt him. Swerve violated the sanctity of Hangman Page’s family home, and that doesn’t sit well with this fearless family man. Will Penta humble Swerve on Hangman’s behalf? Or will Swerve tear it down in Rip City?
The bell rings and fans rally up as the two circle. The two tie up, Swerve gets around and goes for the mask! Penta shakes free and the ref reprimands, but Swerve grins as he rests with Penta. They tie up, and again Swerve wants the mask! Penta throws elbows, runs, but Swerve drops. Penta jumps over, Swerve hurdles and Penta leaps over. But then Swerve handsprings over the roll-back, keeps moving, and Swerve jumps and RANAS! Fans fire up as Penta goes to the corner. Swerve runs to UPPERCUT, snapmare, and hops up to FALLING UPPERCUT! Fans fire up as Swerve hits the Griddy, but then he mocks Cero Miedo.
Swerve stomps Penta, drags him up and wrenches to a wristlock. Swerve wraps the arm around ropes, then CHOPS! Fans “WOO~” and then Swerve KICKS the legs out! Nana gets a “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” chant going. Swerve tortures Penta’s hand and he bends the fingers! Penta has the ROPEBREAK but Swerve holds on until the ref counts 4. Swerve drags Penta back up, but Penta wrenches and CHOPS! Fans “WOO~” again and Swerve CHOPS back! Penta CHOPS again, and fans “WOO~!” Swerve CHOPS, but Penta CHOPS! Swerve kicks low, stomps the fingers, and Penta shakes the hand out.
Swerve drags Penta up by the mask, Penta taunts Swerve, but Swerve grabs Penta’s tongue and pulls! Swerve then CLUBS Penta down, whips him to a corner, but Penta goes up and over to BACKSTABBER! Both men are down, Swerve falls out of the ring, and fans fire up! Penta builds speed, but Swerve UPPERCUTS in the ropes! Swerve drags Penta up to SNAKE EYES off the steel steps! Nana tells the Penta fans to shut up, Swerve gets in the ring and he builds speed. But Penta moves, so Swerve handsprings up and out. Swerve lands on his feet, only for Penta to SUPERKICK him down! And then Penta runs up, but Swerve puts him on the apron.
Penta mule kicks from above! And then he jumps in, builds speed and he FLIES! Direct hit at the ramp and Portland is thunderous while both men are down! Penta rises and even Abrahantes is fired up as Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Penta hears the fans chant “CERO MIEDO!” and he storms up on Swerve. Penta drags Swerve up, around, and throws body shots. Penta puts Swerve up against the post, to CHOP! Swerve sputters while fans fire up, and Penta stalks Swerve back into the ring. Penta drags Swerve back out, brings him around, and hushes the fans. Penta CHOPS Swerve again! Swerve sputters and falls, writhes on the ground, but Penta refreshes the ring count before standing him back up. Swerve dodges and Penta CHOPS THE POST! Penta clutches his hand, Swerve PENALTY KICKS him from the apron!
Nana taunts Penta but Abrahantes backs him off. Swerve drags Penta up and in, covers, TWO! Fans rally for Penta, but Swerve drags him to the ropes to CHOKE him! The ref counts and Swerve lets off, and they argue. Swerve goes back to DECK Penta! Penta still taunts Swerve in return but Swerve stands him up. Dynamite returns to single picture as Swerve SLAPS Penta! And pie faces him! And CHOPS him! Penta eggs Swerve on so Swerve CHOPS! Penta turns things around to CHOP! Swerve CHPOS, Penta CHOPS, repeat, and fans fire up! Penta winds up, Swerve catches but barely! Swerve swings but Penta catches him!
Penta half nelsons, pump handles, but Swerve arm-drags free of the lift! Penta returns, but into a half nelson from Swerve! Penta arm-drags free, and both men DOUBLE LARIAT! DOUBLE BOOT! DOUBLE ROUNDHOUSE! Penta spins for ROLLING- HAYMAKER from Swerve! But Penta SUPERKICKS! Both men run up to DOUBLE LARIAT and this time they fall! Fans are thunderous, “This is Awesome!” as both men go to corners. They run in, Swerve BOOTS! Swerve runs, Penta follows, Swerve dodges but Penta dodges, to SLINGBLADE! And SLINGBLADE again! Penta fireman’s carries, to DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Cover, TWO!!
Swerve survives and shocks Portland but Penta stays focused. Penta brings Swerve up, Swerve gets free and KICKS Penta away. Swerve storms up on Penta at the ropes, but Penta fights the whip to TOSS Swerve up and out! Swerve hits the apron hard, and then drags himself back up. Penta goes to the corner, triangle jump and APRON DESTROYER!! Fans are thunderous again and losing their minds as Swerve is down on the outside! Penta drags Swerve up, puts him in, and Penta goes up the corner. “CERO! MIEDO!” DIVING DOUBLE STOMPS! Cover, TWO!! Swerve is still in this and Penta is stunned!
Nana shouts that Swerve is hurt, the ref should stop this! Penta tells Nana he’ll be more than hurt! Swerve shoves Penta away, but then Penta goes up and around, only for Swerve to stop Penta from going over. Swerve makes it a FLIP BOMB into the corner! Cover, TWO!! Penta survives and goes to the apron. Swerve storms up but Penta GAMANGIRIS! Penta slingshots into a CHOP! Swerve sits Penta down to SUPERKICK! Penta dangles off the apron, Swerve SLINGSHOT WOE STOMPS Penta to the floor!! Swerve drags Penta up and in while fans lose their minds again. Swerve goes up and takes aim, 450 SPLASH into an armbar!!
Penta has that arm tied up, then he goes for the other! DARK SACRIFICE!! Swerve writhes from his arm being snapped like that! Penta drags Swerve up, MADE IN JAPAN!! Cover, TWO?!? Swerve survives but just barely! Penta drags Swerve up and reels him in, but Swerve back drops! Penta sunset flips, but Swerve rolls through, HOUSE- NO, Penta dodges the call and runs, PUNT to the side! Penta drags Swerve up, “CERO! MIEDO!” FEAR- NO, Swerve slips free to CHOP Penta on the neck! Backstage interview with Bullet Club Gold.
Alex Marvez is with Juice Robinson, Austin & Colten Gunn, and Jay White as he brings up White facing Mark Briscoe in tonight’s main event. And if Mark beats White tonight, Mark gets the spot at Full Gear to challenge MJF for the title. White says yeah, he’ll get to Mark soon enough. But look at them! Look at where they are, look at where White is: Still with the Bang Bang Belt on his shoulder. The gang took a break for a week but White still tuned in for Collision last Saturday. And what did he see? White pins MJF 1-2-3 on Dynamite and what happens? What was MJF’s response? MJF said, “Hey, Jay, why don’t you go compare our names on some graph charts on the internet.”
White says that is up there, or rather down there, with the long, drawn-out analogy about how White is tofu. But this is Max’s world, right? He wants us to play along? Well, White will indulge MJF. MJF, the reason the graphs are like that is cuz you spend all of your free time searching your own name, hoping one day that you’ll see those graphs in a way that appeases all those insecurities you have, and how no matter what happens, no matter what you do, Jay White has and always will be better than MJF, and MJF knows it. That is why everyone breathes with the Switchblade!
Because everyone sees now that they can first-hand compare MJF to J A Y, that Jay White is truly elite. And he will show that tonight against Mark Briscoe. MJF, just sit back and watch.
Don Callis speaks.
There’s an M for Mature warning given before creepy Callis says, “Order is an illusion created for the weak. There is no order here, only chaos, violence and revenge. My vision of your future is the only law that matters. You label us ‘organized crime,’ but what we are is a family. As a family, we believe in unquestioned loyalty, in taking what we want, and in inflicting pain on anyone who crosses out path. You think you’re safe in the street? You’re not. Unconstrained by AEW rules, we plan to do what you cannot even fathom.
“This isn’t one of your video games where you can say and do whatever you want,” despite there being footage from the newest Like a Dragon game as part of this. “No, this match has consequences. And those consequences will be paid in pain and in blood.”
Kenny Omega responds.
“We both know that this doesn’t end until one of us is gone. I’ve been beaten, I’ve been broken. But like a koi fish struggling to swim up stream, I am equally as desperate to see you gone. What you’ve called my weakness has always been my strength. You want me to be like the Cleaner, like the Belt Collector, like the Best Bout Machine. You’re gonna get something like that, in the Like a Dragon Street Fight. Good-bye, and good night.” Like a Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name, out now on all platforms!
Backstage interview with Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho.
Renee Paquette is with the Golden Jets and says next week in California, it will be like a final boss battle as they team with Kota Ibushi & Paul Wight to take on the full Don Callis Family. This is such a personal match for both men, how are they feeling ahead of it? Jericho says that when Callis proposed this challenge, he didn’t realize that Ibushi and Wight would have the backs of these two. These two have some good friends, Renee, some big friends. But wait, the Young Bucks walk in and sarcastically say it’s been awhile. Matt Jackson says they set up camp with the extras in the broom closet since there’s no space in the Elite’s locker room with Jericho’s big bags.
But hey, they like what’s going on here with this tag team. Nice promo. Heard they had a cool new name, too! Golden Jets! Bet that was Jericho’s idea. Matt remembers another cool name for a team: The Elite. The guys who started this whole damn company! That was a cool name, too. Jericho says it’s funny, The Bucks talking about being Kenny’s friend, but they didn’t have his back when Hobbs beat the hell out of him with a steel chair. And as far as starting AEW, wasn’t it the four of them who got this started? Yes, of course Jericho would put himself on a pedestal.
But the way Matt remembers it, Kenny & The Bucks started this revolution, and what’d Jericho do? Oh, yeah, waltzed right in and cashed another big check. Jericho wants The Bucks to remember who they’re talking to. This is Kenny Effin’ Omega and Chris Jericho. Two of the greatest to ever do this in the history of pro-wrestling. So while The Bucks are perhaps the greatest tag team of all time, kudos on that, but Jericho still thinks he and Omega could beat them. Oh? Oh, really? Well, there’s a big show coming up, right? And the Bucks aren’t doing anything, and it seems Jericho & Omega aren’t doing anything.
And this big event is booked in the Bucks’ hometown of Los Angeles, right? It’s called Full Gear. So great idea: Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho VS The Young Bucks! Well, uh… Jericho likes that idea. But let’s put more steam on it. When Jericho & Omega beat the Bucks, and they will, that guaranteed title shot the Bucks are sitting on goes to them! Matt likes where this is going. Let’s up the ante more! When the Bucks beat Jericho & Omega, which they will, pinning Jericho for that matter, this whole Golden Jets experiment is no more. And then The Elite can be The Elite again! What does Omega say?
Kenny says if this is about who is the greatest tag team of all time, then it’s The Bucks. Omega doesn’t wanna wrestle them. But if they’re asking if he thinks he can beat them… Well, he did it before. Kenny & Ibushi, Kenny & Hangman. This attitude the Bucks are bringing in, claiming Omega & Jericho can’t rise to the challenge, they can do it. If they really wanna do this all over again, then they’re on. And then maybe the Bucks will clean up their acts and start acting like adults, and not a couple “sissy, whiney, bitchy children.” Wow, first time it’s been put like that. Well, they had to hear it from someone who knows them like Kenny. See you in LA.
Kenny heads out and Jericho says he’ll gladly take these two to the woodshed, and beat their spoiled brat asses. And by the way, Jericho has his own dressing room. Jericho heads out and the Bucks are speechless. But will they be able to throw a Superkick Party and hold onto those golden tickets? Or will those tickets soon give the Golden Jets their shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships?
ROH World Television Championship: Samoa Joe VS Keith Lee!
The One True King of Wrestling Television is now the longest reigning ROH World Television Champion in history, yet is not satisfied until he is the One True King of Wrestling PERIOD. However, will his split focus cost him against the Limitless One? Or is the only thing with no limit the viciousness within Samoa Joe?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if Joe can hold onto this crown while going for another!
The bell rings and the Code of Honor is upheld. The fans rally, chant for “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” because these are two meaty men about to slap meat! They tie up, are in a deadlock, but Keith finds a point of leverage to push Joe back. Joe turns things around, the ref counts and Joe lets off with a shove. Keith brushes that off and circles with Joe. Fans chant “MEAT! MEAT! MEAT!” again as the two tie up. Joe headlocks, Keith powers up but Joe squeezes tight. Keith still powers up to power out, and they RAM shoulders! Neither falls, and Keith smirks. Joe rakes the eyes then runs, to run Keith over!
Joe flexes and fans are torn, but Joe runs again. Keith dodges to then run Joe over! Fans fire up as Keith looms over Joe. Joe stands, Keith CLUBS Joe on the back! Fans sing “OH~ Bask in His Glory!” Keith fires hands on Joe in a corner, follows him to another corner, and pushes his hands in to Joe’s face, before the GRIZZLY MAGNUM hits Joe in the chest! Joe sputters and crawls, Keith drags Joe up with a sleeper and he gives back the claw to the eyes! The ref reprimands, Keith fishhooks and the ref counts. Keith lets off, and fans chant “MEAT FOREVER!” Keith CHOKES Joe on the ropes, the ref counts, and Keith lets off.
Keith stands Joe up but Joe CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Then he JABS, JABS and JABS in the corner! Joe goes high, goes low, fires off fast and from all sides, then he ELBOWS Keith down! Fans fire up while Joe hobbles away. Joe storms back up on Keith, stands him up and HEADBUTTS! Joe runs, but Keith HURDLES!? Then he drops and CROSSBODIES Joe! Fans are thunderous as Joe bails out, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
The ring count climbs while Joe sputters, but Keith goes out after him. Keith drags Joe up, SMACKS him off the apron, and then follows him around the way. Joe turns around into Keith’s JAB! And JAB! And body shot! Keith backs Joe down, throws fast hands and ROCKS Joe with a left! Fans fire up and Joe CHOPS in return! Keith scowls but Joe CHOPS again! And again! Joe brings Keith around but Keith blocks apron bump to give apron bump! Joe gets into the ring, Keith fist bumps some fans and gets back in the ring. Keith drags Joe up, bumps him off buckles, and RAMS into him! And again! And again!
Keith pushes his shoulder into Joe, but lets off as the ref counts, to then scrape Joe with a forearm! Keith stands Joe up again, to CHOP! Fans rally, Joe HEADBUTTS, and Joe JABS! JABS! And BACKHANDS! Joe fires off, backs Keith down to another corner, and then he brings Keith around to reel him in. But Keith suplexes first! Winner: Samoa Joe, by referee stoppage (still ROH World Television Champion)
The Limitless One still had one limit: he needs to breathe! The king stays atop his throne, but Joe gets a mic. “What stands before you is the greatest ROH Television Champion of all time.” Fans cheer that! Joe also says, “But I did not come here to merely be your Television Champion. I said hunger is what defines the greats. Well consider me officially hungry. As of tonight, I VACATE the ROH Television Championship!!” Fans are shocked! Joe sets the record, gets one last defense in, and gives up the throne?! “Because the next gold that is going to be on my shoulder will be the AEW World Championship! Whether you like it or not, Max!!”
The One True King of Wrestling Television doesn’t care about the past but only the future! Will he be tearing into The People’s Scumbag soon enough? Or will he be switching course to target the Switchblade after Full Gear?
Orange Cassidy speaks.
With Hook having a milkshake by his side, Freshly Squeezed tells Jon Moxley, “You must’ve lost your mind. Saying that I overlooked you. That I don’t respect you. You are the only person I have been thinking about since you left me in a pool of my own blood in Chicago after taking my AEW International Championship. And I’m sorry that when the opportunity knocked, I didn’t pick up the pieces of Rey Fenix, I picked up the pieces of the International Championship that you dropped. And now, holding it, it doesn’t feel the same. Because I need to beat you. I have to beat you, in order to be the International Champion that I know I am.”
Cassidy takes off his sunglasses to get serious. At Full Gear, Cassidy WILL beat Moxley! The Maniac has been put on notice, but will Moxley tear this title away from Cassidy all over again? Or will this all come full circle at Full Gear?
The Gunns w/ Juice Robinson VS The Bollywood Boyz!
Speaking of Full Gear, Austin & Colten are gearing up for their ROH World Tag Team Championship match with MJF in the Zero Hour. They want to again be tag team champion brothers, will they shoot down the Sihra Brothers to keep up the momentum? Or will it be Lights, Camera and Bollywood action for Gurv & Harv?
The teams sort out, Colten starts against Harv, and Juice parades Cardblade around. The fans taunt the “ASS~ BOYS!” but Colten kicks Harv low. Colten CLOBBERS Harv, Austin runs in to BLAST Gurv! Fans boo but Austin returns to his corner to tag in. The Gunns then lock ‘n’ load, 3:10 TO YUMA for Harv! Cover, The Gunns win!
Winners: The Gunns, by pinfall
Austin & Colten shut Bollywood down fast, and now Colten gets a mic. Fans boo but Colten tells Max, “You are a liar. You have been lying to these people for years. You call yourself a generational talent, but you are not that. You’ve been telling sob story after sob story, about how you didn’t make it. ‘Hey, four to five months, come on back.’ That’s not what a generational talent does. Do you think LeBron James went to the NBA and they said, ‘Uh-uh, not yet.’ No, he walked into the league, and ran that b*tch from day one like me and Austin! We’ve never been told ‘no!’ We’ve neve been told we’re not ready! We were made for TV!
“We’ve been doing this for three years, and we are former AEW Tag Champs! We are about to be ROH Tag Champs! Because WE are generational talents!” Fans boo harder as Austin gets the mic to tell MJF he is an “embarrassment as a champion. For the past three months, you’ve defended the ROH titles ONE TIME! Now the only friends you have left are on the other side of this guardrail. And I pray to God that you pick one of these fat POS’s as your partner for Full Gear so we can send ’em on a ride on the 3:10 to Yuma!” Austin continues to say, “Max, Full Gear, November 18th, The Forum, the ROH titles go back in the hands of a REAL tag team!”
The fans still taunt the Ass Boys as Austin says if you’re not down with that, they’ve got two words for ya! GUNS UP! MJF sees this, and then in steps Joe… MJF looks at Joe’s smirking face and then leaves. Will MJF listen to Adam Cole’s idea to actually team with the man that wants his AEW World title? Or will he live and die in that tag title match 2v1?
Jon Moxley speaks.
Wheeler Yuta is with him as he says “We heard what Orange Cassidy had to say, and I knew it! I knew it! I’ve been getting calls all week. ‘You should let Orange Cassidy of the hook, man. He didn’t do anything wrong, all he did was take an opportunity.’ I knew it, Orange knew exactly what he was doing, stepping on my territory, taking my match. This ain’t about some belt, man. It’s about the laws of nature. This business is a jungle, and the BCC are the dominant pack of predators within. What kind of example am I setting for young Wheeler here if I don’t beat the ever loving piss outta you, Orange?
“What kind of example are you setting for this kid, this Hook? Teaching him that he can just do and say whatever he wants and it’s fine? There will be no repercussions? HR will step in and save him? What kind of example are you setting for the people who think you’re some kind of hero, huh? You don’t even deserve to get to Full Gear, you don’t even deserve to make it to Sunday. So the minute we land at LAX, it’s on! Gang warfare, you and whoever you wanna bring. If you even make it to Full Gear, good for you. Hook, Young Boy. Please take notes, if your fingers still work.”
Yuta then adds that Hook might think of himself as some tough guy, but Yuta guarantees that he crossed the wrong crew. “See you in Cali, pretty boy.” The Blackpool Combat Club is ready for combat, but will they soon regret calling out #OrangeHook?
Wardlow speaks.
“My first three years in AEW were a living hell. I had a foot on my neck. I have felt one of the worst things a man can feel, and that is his potential being wasted. I have felt worthless. And it’s because of one man. You won’t know when, you won’t know where, but when you find out, it will be too late. Max, the days of The Devil ruling over AEW are coming to an end!” The War Dog is hunting MJF down, when will he choose to strike?
Julia Hart VS Red Velvet!
The Lady of the House is back in action, still seething from Skye Blue actually resisting the power of the mist. But will Julia perhaps have better luck with Red Velvet? Or will Red’s own return to action be upsetting for Julia?
The bell rings and fans rally up as these two stare down. They slowly approach, tie up, and go around. Fans cheer as the two are evenly matched, but Julia manages to put Velvet in a corner. Julia leaves Velvet behind to refresh the ring count, and then she TOSSES Velvet up the ramp!
Julia stomps Velvet, drags her up, and TOSSES her back down the ramp! Velvet tumbles, Julia talks trash, and she puts Velvet back in the ring. Cover, TWO! Julia seethes but she drags Velvet up and whips her to ropes, to then ELBOW her down! Julia has an evil smile as she clamps on a chinlock. Julia grinds Velvet down but Velvet endures, even as Julia leans all her weight on the hold. Velvet fights up but Julia wrangles her back down, and Dynamite returns to single picture. The fans rally up, Velvet fights back with body shots, and she JAWBREAKERS free! Velvet runs, Julia runs up to ELBOW her!
Julia runs, Velvet follows to DROPKICK! Fans fire up and both women rise. Velvet roars and runs in to LARIAT! And LARIAT again! Velvet keeps moving to wheelbarrow, and BULLDOG! Fans fire up with Velvet and she runs side to side to DOUBLE KNEE Julia against ropes! Velvet YANKS ropes to snap Julia back, and then STANDING MOONSAULTS! Cover, TWO! Julia is still in this and Velvet grows frustrated. Fans rally up as Julia flounders to a corner. Velvet runs up but into an elbow! Julia goes up, but Velvet CHOPS her on the back! Velvet turns Julia around to SLAP her, then ICONCLASM! Cover, TWO!!
Julia survives again but Velvet grits her teeth. Velvet gets Julia up, Julia shoves back and SUPERKICKS! Velvet falls and Julia drags her into a drop zone. Fans duel as Julia stomps Velvet into place. Julia then goes up and up, and fans fire up for the MOONSAULT! Cover, Julia wins!
Winner: Julia Hart, by pinfall
That was a bad moonsault rising, but as the song says, The House always wins! And Julia then clamps on HARTLESS!! Fans are torn but Velvet taps! Julia refuses to let go, but here comes Skye Blue! Skye storms out to get in Julia’s face, and Julia looks into Skye’s eyes. The eyes are the windows to the soul, so maybe there’s still some darkness in there. Julia is getting mad, though, but wait! Here comes Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale! Kris & Willow are Skey’s friends and they stand by her, but Skye moves away from Kris. Julia takes her leave, Willow helps Velvet up. Where exactly are the battlelines drawn in this one?

AEW World Championship Right to Challenge: Jay White w/ Bullet Club Gold VS Mark Briscoe!
The Switchblade keeps acting like he’s the real world champion here, but his ego might be deflated just 10 days away from Full Gear! Will White fail to stay truly elite? Or will he be able to make even the Sussex County Chicken breathe with the Switchblade?

His first ever 1v1 with Mark Briscoe might be an instant classic, but what matters is that White wins and still has the Triple B on his shoulder. But wait! Here comes MJF!! At least, his music hit. MJF gets a mic to tell White to look at him. “I hope you’ve had fun playing dress-up as top guy. Because pretty soon, playtime’s almost over. You are gonna have to get in the ring with the REAL World Champion, with the Generational Talent, with Maxwell Jacob Friedman, M J F! When I won that title, I made a promise to myself that I was gonna go down as the greatest AEW World Champion of all time or die trying. And that’s what you’ll be dealing with, Jay. You are going to have to kill me to beat me. Do you understand? Because I’m not just fighting for me anymore! For the first time in my life, I am fighting for everybody who has been on this journey with me since day one!
“I am fighting for Adam Cole! I am fighting for you, watching at home! I am fighting for everyone in this arena! Cuz I’m not just a scumbag, I’m THEIR Scumbag!” Fans chant “He’s Our Scumbag!” and MJF asks White a question: Full Gear, when MJF is the only thing between Jay White and immortality, will the leader of the Bang Bang Gang, “the man who’s always carrying around a fake little gun,” be able to be the first man to pull the GADDAM TRIGGER!? Wait, the lights go down? And in the backstage area, those masked goons are back! They’re beating up The Acclaimed 4v3!! But why!? Because they’re MJF’s friends now?!
Caster gets thrown into a door, and Bowens gets thrown through a window!! And then, The Devil of AEW is on screen! MJF is stunned, and we now know for sure that it is NOT MJF! MJF is here and he runs backstage to go find where The Acclaimed were. He freaks out as he sees Billy, Caster and Bowens down with his own eyes. Joe asks what happened. He’s running out of friends! Damn. Joe chuckles as he leaves, did he have something to do with this? Or is he just enjoying watching MJF squirm as the walls are closing in?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite, almost awesome really, if not for some parts that seemed rather confusing. My apologizes to Miss Mariah May, but her joining AEW isn’t exactly big news, even if she was in Stardom. But maybe they’re building to her being Storm’s sidekick so things can circle back to Storm and the Outcasts. Saraya & Soho VS Storm & May could be some fun stuff. Speaking of, Toni and Shida had a great contract signing promo with Tony “Shavon.” Their match is going to be great given the history between them, and really could go either way. But with that idea I just had, Storm could totally win so that she has to worry about Saraya & Soho coming after her for the title and May helps her against the Outcasts’ antics.
We got really good promos that also helped advertise for the newest sequel to the Yakuza spinoff, Like a Dragon. And then we did get a good promo from Omega, Jericho and The Bucks. But why is the 8 Man Tag Street Fight on TV while the tag team title contenders match is on PPV? Though, I suppose with the Street Fight being ad integration, that is going to be on TV for the ad revenue, and then it can just be whatever in that tag match. So the feud with Don Callis Family is going to end on TV, and Omega & Jericho are gonna try and move on to get those tag titles from Ricky Starks & Big Bill? That feels weird, but then so does the alternative of Omega being forced into ending his newfound friendship with Jericho to go back to his bratty friends.
Because for one, being passive aggressive punk friends is already a position taken up by Roderick Strong & The Kingdom. They had a hilarious part in the opening promo segment with MJF and Adam Cole, and Roddy’s threat about reminding everybody of his “legend” status is good stuff. And now that I think about it, it’d be so fitting of Roddy was The Devil of AEW. His henchmen would of course be Taven, Bennett, and now Cole Karter & Griff Garrison because of ROH having Maria bring those two into an extended Kingdom faction. Honestly, that feels like the best possibility for that group’s true identities.
Awesome ROH World Television Championship match, and a bit of a shame that Keith Lee lost. Especially when you consider Samoa Joe just vacates it! Though considering we saw Dalton Castle move on from his story with Samoa Joe by getting back into Trios action with The Boys, this should’ve been obvious. Joe is now fully involved with his part in MJF’s story, which we saw plenty of tonight, including after the Devil beat down Acclaimed. MJF VS Garcia was an awesome title match to start us off, and I was just as excited as the fans were to see Garcia embracing professional wrestling, and almost breaking away from Menard & Parker. He has got to do that soon, and then just dance all over Menard after he knocks him down.
Darby & Sting of course defeat The Outrunners, but we didn’t see anything of Christian Cage, his crew, or Adam “Edge” Copeland, because they’re clearly saving all of that for Saturday. Awesome match of Swerve VS Penta and great win for Swerve, but also great bit of Hangman running out to get him. Another thing that makes the Bucks bad friends is that they aren’t more supportive of Hangman going after Swerve. Yeah, they lost the ROH World Six Man titles but that’s because they weren’t all united in getting even with Swerve. They’re all husbands and fathers, why was it Penta who had to step to Swerve and not The Bucks? Why did Ibushi and Wight have to step up to be the partners in the Street Fight? Bucks are being jerks in this phase.
Good promo from Wardlow but it felt like one promo too much when this isn’t even the go-home yet. But good promos from #OrangeHook and BCC to set up a tag match that then feeds into the International Championship. Cassidy VS Moxley might actually be a show stealer because of how these two are after each other. And honestly, the tag match might even give us Hook VS Yuta for the FTW Championship in the Zero Hour since Tony Khan always shoves four matches on that thing. Though, if that’s the case, he really should put a TBS Championship match on there. Julia VS Velvet was really good, and we got a good stare down of Julia and Skye, and then Kris and Willow showing up. Fatal 4 for the TBS title maybe?
Also feels like we got a little too much Bang Bang Gang. Gunns squashing Bollywood Boyz so hard felt more like a Rampage thing than Dynamite. Give that extra time to one of the other matches to make them even better. But good promo from those guys, and from White. Awesome match of White VS Briscoe, but of course White finds a way to win. MJF going after them was great, as was his promo on them, but now with Acclaimed attacked by the thugs who may or may not be The Kingdom, it definitely feels like MJF has no choice but to accept Joe as a partner in the tag title match. Joe helps MJF retain those titles so that after MJF beats White, MJF has to face Joe at Worlds End.
My Score: 8.8/10

AEW shares footage from after Saturday Night Collision.
Eddie Kingston asks them what they want him to say. He knew this was gonna be tough. Tony Khan didn’t put any scrubs in this tournament. Eddie just maybe got too cocky, thinking that since he put two belts in the pot, he was a given winner. No one deserves to win, everything is earned. Eddie has Bryan next but he’s behind the 8 ball. Eddie says he will not do this. He will not go backwards. Humble in victory and humble in defeat. Eddie has to go heal up, Epsom salt bath, all that good stuff. The Mad King vows he will be ready for the American Dragon.
Bryan Danielson responds.
Bryan says he was actually impressed by the confidence Eddie had to put up both his titles for the tournament. But now, one loss and Eddie feels he’s behind the 8 ball? Against Bryan? Bryan fractured his orbital bone, needed surgery in two places, and yet he is coming into this tournament on fire! He is NOT behind the 8 ball, he is NOT going to be humble, he is here to win this and be the first AEW Triple Crown! Will Bryan’s Blue League start be Eddie’s Blue League end?
Tony Schiavone is backstage.
He brings up that Sting’s final match is coming. AEW Revolution, Sunday, March 3rd, 2024. And when it comes to where they’ll have Sting’s final match, they thought of the many great venues across the world, but what better place for Sting’s final match than Greensboro, North Carolina and the Greensboro Coliseum? So many great Sting matches were held there, but one in particular that comes to mind is 1988, Sting VS Ric Flair for the World Heavyweight Championship. So Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina, get ready! Joining Schiavone now are those very legends, Sting and Ric Flair!
First off, 24-0, the longest win streak in AEW right now, what a fitting place for Sting to have his final match and maybe end on 25 than in Greensboro. Sting says yeah, wow, all those years ago, it was March 8th, 1988, his very first world title match against perhaps the greatest world champion of all time in The Nature Boy. Sting would’ve never guessed that night, 35 years later, we’d be here now. The memories, 45 minutes but a draw, commercial free, the first time in TV history that any sporting event even did that. But that’s not the real point of it. The big deal was being in there with Ric Flair. That was a make or break night, and so thank you, Ric, for putting Sting on the map.
Sting says yeah, that is a fitting place to end his career all these years later, Greensboro. Schiavone says so many great memories, and for him and Flair, forty years ago, does he remember? Oh, Flair knows. The words cannot be spoken to emphasize what is about to happen! Greensboro, where Sting, make no mistake, Ric didn’t make Sting a thing, Sting made himself! 45 MINUTES! Commercial free! With Flair! Unthinkable! Sting walked back there to 25 wrestlers going, “Jesus! You’re the man! You did it, Stinger!” He went out there and did it like a man! That’s what this business is all about.
Flair is 74 years old, standing next to the Icon, with his friend, Schiavone, and going back to Greensboro for what will be the greatest moment of his life, and God knows Flair’s had some good ones. He is honored to be there at Sting’s side! They shake hands, and Flair says the ACC Tournament and all that, nah, this is one for the ages! Highway 85 will be lined up from Richmond, all the way to Charlotte, like it always was! Sting, The Nature Boy, and AEW are coming to Greensboro! Let’s give it to ’em! “WOO~!” It’s the 80s all over again! Tickets on sale December 15th! IT’S SHOWTIME!

RJ City interviews “Timeless” Toni Storm.
Madame Storm seems rather bothered by something. RJ gets her attention but she tells him to sit. And don’t be so loud. RJ does sit, and Mariah May takes the title for Storm. RJ wants to bring up the championship acceptance speech last week. Yes, and she was rudely interrupted! Yeah, that’s true. How is she feeling? Storm says they partied well into the night, spent some time at the compound, JFK or one of the Kennedys was there. But now she is very fatigued, dehydrated, and has a touch of the gout. Oh, wow. Well, he wants to inform her that she is scheduled to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship. But given her state, is she worried at all?
Worried? Was Fatty Arbuckle worried? Was Jean Harlow worried? Was Frances bloody Farmer worried? No, they all turned out fine, and so will she. Before she goes, take off her shoe, she’s feeling swollen. RJ does take off her shoes for her, but will Storm have to focus before someone takes the title off her?
MJF is here!
Fans cheer as the AEW World Champion walks out here with the help of his cane, mic in the other hand. He has them cut his music, he gets into the ring, and the fans cheer him on. MJF gets right to it as he says “December 30th, Nassau Coliseum, Worlds End, it will be Samoa Joe VS yours truly for the grandest prize of ’em all, The Triple B, the AEW World Championship.” Fans cheer that, and MJF wants to be honest, though. When it comes to Joe as a person, eeeeeeh MJF doesn’t like him. But when it comes to Joe professional, MJF respects him.
MJF respects what Joe has done for the industry, and most importantly, when Joe came into AEW, he didn’t come here to line his pockets, he came here because he believes in those three letters. Fans cheer for “A E DUB! A E DUB!” and MJF says back in the early 2000s, MJF remembers getting a poster in his mailbox and it was for TNA Wrestling. And he remembers thinking, what even is this all about? He tuned in and couldn’t have been happier. He saw insane feats of athleticism, he saw a new cast of pro-wrestlers he’d never heard of before, but most of all, he saw one man among the rest, and that was the Samoan Submission Machine.
While Samoa Joe may’ve looked unconventional, he didn’t seem to care, and neither did any of the fans. Because every time Joe walked through the curtain, we knew he was the baddest man walking on God’s Green Earth. Now unfortunately, later on in his career, Joe’s talents were not recognized and he was not afforded the opportunity to be a world champion in the WWE. Fans boo, but MJF says what Joe did for this sport was bigger than that. “Joe proved you don’t have to be a massive male model bodybuilder to be a top guy in this sport. Samoa Joe broke the mold. Samoa Joe proved alternatives matter.
“And because of the road that Joe paved, it has allowed for a man like me to stand before you today. Without a guy like Joe, there may be no AEW. So Joe, very quickly, what I’d like to say, as much as this all pains me to admit, thank you.” Fans cheer that and join in, “Thank You, Joe! Thank You, Joe!” Yes, thank you, Joe! However… MJF has actually, though grateful to have gone down the road Joe paved, MJF isn’t too shabby himself, now is he? Fans cheer that. MJF managed to pave his own road, and built on a new alternative. He is AEW day one, and he has helped build this place brick by brick! Fans cheer “M J F! M J F!”
MJF says he did that by defeating some of the biggest names in this industry! Names like Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega. But of all the names MJF has had to face in this ring, the one name he looks back on, and not only was he lucky to win, he was lucky to survive, that is Joe. Samoa Joe is a wrestling legend. But December 30th is not about Joe’s legacy. It’s about MJF’s! December 30th is about answering the question, “Can Max Friedman outlast the Final Boss of this sport one more time?” So now, MJF is gonna make a promise. He promises to everyone watching at home and everyone here in this arena.
MJF promises that on December 30th, it doesn’t matter if his left knee keeps sliding in and out, if his right hip keeps popping in and out of socket, if his right shoulder is hanging on by a threat, or if Joe beats him within an inch of his life. Joe could be King Kong and Godzilla incarnate. Because MJF promises that on December 30th, he shows the world that it is not about the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog! And if you want to take what’s his… at Worlds End, you’ll have to put MJF down! MJF even breaks his cane!! Fans fire up with MJF, but then the lights go down.
Now there are lights blinking all over the place. MJF looks around, but THE DEVIL’S MINIONS ATTACK! Fans boo as one of them has a baseball bat!! But here comes Joe!! Joe said he’d have MJF’s back so here he is! He YANKS the big guy out, gets that bat, and he runs the rest off! Cameras have trouble here, but when things come back, a message types out on screen. “In the shadows, our game begins. Next week, MJF & Samoa Joe… will you face the unknown in a tag match? Are you a hero, Max?” The Devil has made his challenge to the champ! The fans chant “DO IT! DO IT!” and “He’s Our Scumbag!” Joe tries to get MJF to ignore all this, it’s what this Devil wants!
But MJF says “I’m so sick of your Scooby-Doo BS! LEMME EXPLAIN SOMETHING TO YOU! I am not dealing with your crap when I got that guy breathing down my neck at Worlds End. No no. I am going to take out all of your men, one by one. I am going to unmask you, you coward! And next week, you wanna tag match?! YOU’RE ON!!” Joe isn’t for it, but the challenge has been accepted. Will Joe just have to save MJF from himself?
Wardlow VS AR Fox!
Speaking of someone who wants to take everything away from MJF, the War Dog is on the warpath, just waiting for the right moment. After what we just saw, is MJF going to be served up on a silver platter?
But wait! Fox BOOTS Wardlow down off the apron! And then FLIES out! But Wardlow stays up! So Fox FLIES again! Direct hit but Wardlow is still up! Wardlow HEADBUTTS Fox, then whips him at the apron. Wardlow storms in, fans rally up, and Wardlow drags Fox up for an OVERHEAD BELLY2BELLY! Now with both men in the ring, the bell finally sounds and this is actually a match. Wardlow storms up on Fox in the corner, to then TOSS him across the way!
Fox flounders out of the ring and Wardlow is having fun now. Wardlow goes out to stalk Fox, CLUB him on the back, and the ring count climbs. Wardlow hauls Fox up to TOSS him back in! Fans rally, Wardlow storms back in, and Wardlow drags Fox up. Fox shoves Wardlow but Wardlow CLUBS him! Wardlow trophy lifts, but Fox slips free! Wardlow runs in, but only gets buckles as Fox slips out to the apron! Fox swings to dropkick, then he goes up to 450 SPLASH! Cover, ONE!! Wardlow snarls and Fox is stunned! Fox runs in to BOOT! Wardlow doesn’t budge so Fox BOOTS him again! And again! Fox runs, but Wardlow pops him up for a SPINEBUSTER!
Wardlow winds up, to LARIAT Fox down! Wardlow then hauls Fox up, POWERBOMB! The symphony begins as fans want more! Wardlow drags Fox up, reels him back in, another POWERBOMB! And then Wardlow goes up the corner, to SWANTON BOMB!! Fans fire up and Wardlow still isn’t done! He reels Fox back in, to LAST RIDE POWERBOMB!!! The ref checks, Fox is OUT! Wardlow wins!
Winner: Wardlow, by pinfall
The remixed Powerbomb Symphony was too much for Fox, and Wardlow storms off. When and where will Wardlow sink his teeth into MJF?

Backstage interview with Mariah May.
RJ City is with Miss May and says we saw her at Full Gear and last week, but we also know she’s here, hungry for more. Mariah says yes she is. She knows she’s the new girl and all, but she did just come from Stardom, and she had quite the run. She is dying to show us what she can do. So thanks for connecting her with Toni Storm. RJ says it’s nothing, he and Toni go way back, used to play squash together. No, really, RJ is quite the curator. And Mariah knows Toni likes him, so this means the world to her. No, no, Toni makes things happen. He’s just happy to help. Mariah seems a bit disappointed, but RJ says without further ado, go get ’em!
Mariah knocks on Tony Khan’s door, steps inside, and talks with the boss. Will this Tony be just as accommodating as Toni Storm?
Christian Cage is here!

Fans fire up for that, and Christian says he knows Edge is back there. Fans shout “ADAAAAM~!” and Christian says he just wants to talk about what Edge said on Collision. So if Edge doesn’t mind making his presence felt, Christian would appreciate it. But still no response? Did Christian make sure to do this when Edge isn’t here?
Christian waits, gets upset, and asks Adam “ADAAAM~!” that he’d like to speak with him in this ring. Please, someone, hit the mic, get Adam’s attention, something. Or should Christian go back there to speak with him? “You think you know him.” And here comes Edge!! Fans fire up as Edge storms into the ring, and of course the security becomes a wall in front of Christian. Edge paces and Christian says listen, management wanted this, not him. Fans boo that garbage, but Christian says they don’t need security. He asks these men to vacate the ring. They shrug and bail out, even though Edge looks ready to pounce.
Christian brings up that last week, Edge challenged him to a match for the TNT Championship on December 6th, Dynamite in Montreal. Christian is here to tell Edge that they won’t make it to Montreal. They get face to face and fans fire up. Christian says they won’t make it to Montreal because “I’m sorry.” What? Edge is also confused, and Christian says he knows what we’re all thinking. Christian is only sorry because he’s all alone, right? Fans confirm and they chant “BULL~ SHID!” at him! Christian asks them to understand. Edge took out “The Prodigy” Nick Wayne, he took out Killswitch/Luchasaurus, but that’s not why Christian’s sorry.
He won’t lie, he was pissed about what Edge did to Lucha- er, Killswitch, with not one but two Con-Chair-Tos. Christian was so mad, he jumped out of his house, got in his car and just drove around. He needed to think, needed fresh air. And somewhere during that trip, it turned into one of reflection. It turned into a roadtrip of soul searching, digging down deep, trying to understand why he became the person that he is, this guy who says and does such unsavory things. And then he remembered those times he and Edge would borrow Christian’s mom’s Ford Taurus. They nicknamed it “Toby the Taurus” because they took it everywhere when they were trying to make it.
They didn’t care where they went, they were broke, not a dime to their names, but they didn’t care. They were having the time of their lives! They knew they were gonna make it. They didn’t know how, but they knew they would. And dammit, did they ever make it, huh? They went on to become multiple-time tag team champions, and Christian will say it, the greatest tag team that ever lived! Fans do cheer that. Christian and Edge then became multiple time world champions, two of the greatest careers in this sport. But take the wrestling away, and it runs even deeper. Everyone knows Edge grew up with a single mom. Everyone knows that Edge didn’t have a father figure.
Fans boo, already sensing where this is going! Christian wants Edge to listen! Yes, he is the Patriarch of AEW, but in no way is he suggesting he’s Edge’s father. Christian is Edge’s brother. And in turn, Christian’s father became like Edge’s father. Edge went on family trips, sat at the dinner table, slept over! When Edge needed discipline, Christian’s dad treated him the same as his own kids. He picked Edge up, brushed him off, hugged him and cheered him on. To this very day, he is still Edge’s biggest fan. So listen, Christian will just say it. They weren’t just random guys thrown together. “I love you, man.” Fans boo that one!
Christian says they’re family. And listen, when Edge’s mom passed a few years ago, that was the hardest time of Edge’s life. Christian knows that. But some time before, she said, “What I wouldn’t give to see you guys in that ring, teaming one last time.” Christian started thinking, that they should do this for her! Let’s go on the journey together again, like Edge wanted! Edge & Christian, for Judy “Judemeister” Copeland! Let’s do it for her! Fans cheer for Judy, but Edge is conflicted. Christian drops the mic, holds the belt, and then rushes Edge! Edge LOW BLOWS Christian first!! Fans cheer as Christian leans on Edge in pain.
Christian slumps down and Edge lets him fall. Fans want that one more time, but Edge gets the mic. “Nice try, dumbass.” Edge tells him to sit up when he’s talking. Edge grabs the belt, tells Christian to shine it up real nice. Hell, sleep with it if he wants. Because next week, the title’s coming home with Edge! Oh, and one more thing, Edge almost forgot. G F Y!! Fans are thunderous as Edge takes his leave. Will Edge crush Christian’s spirit as payback for everything he’s said and done?
AEW Continental Classic, Gold League: Jay White VS Swerve Strickland!
The Switchblade and the Realest are both 1-0 with three points, and now they are going to battle in what could be the decisive battle in this block! With no Juice Robinson, no Ass Boys, no Prince Nana or Brian Cage, who will prove to be the slipperiest snake in all of AEW?
The bell rings and fans fire up for “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” White still throws guns up, but he and Swerve then tie up. They go around, Swerve puts White in a corner, but White turns it around. Swerve turns it back around, White pulls hair to turn it around again, then he RAMS into Swerve! And again! And again! White tosses Swerve out, then goes out to CHOP! White then RAMS Swerve into railing, mocks Nana’s dance, but Swerve throws hands! Swerve runs and RAMS White into railing! Fans fire up with Swerve and he stomps White down. Swerve then whips, but White reverses and Swerve hits railing so hard, he goes over into the front row!
Fans fire up and security helps Swerve, but then White drags him back in. White puts Swerve in the ring, mockingly asks, “Whose House?” and he stomps Swerve. White wrenches the arm, CLUBS it, and then CHOPS! White again mockingly asks, “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” White CHOPS Swerve, but Swerve BOOTS back! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! And CHOPS! Swerve whips, White holds ropes, then he dumps Swerve out. But Swerve pulls hair! White HOTSHOTS Swerve, builds speed and slides, but Swerve catches him to BACK SUPLEX White into the front row! Fans are getting a much more interactive experience than expected!
Swerve drags White back up, White grabs at fans desperately, but the fans can’t do anything for him as Swerve dumps White back over. Swerve pushes White around, goes up the apron, and then he FLYING STOMPS White down! Fans fire up, Swerve puts White in, and then aims from the apron. But White gets a leg in the ropes! Swerve claws at White, pushes him away, but White BOOTS Swerve, then DRAPING DDTS! Fans rally for Swerve but White drags Swerve up to CHOP! Fans “WOO~!” and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
White sits Swerve up again, to CHOP him back down! White drags Swerve up again, goes up a corner, and mocks Swerve, to then hop back down and CHOP again! Swerve writhes, White drags him up, and White TOSSES Swerve out of the ring. White goes out after Swerve, but he CHOPS back! Swerve then clinches to hit a BACKBREAKER! White writhes, Swerve goes up to the apron again, and he BOOTS White back down! Fans rally up, Swerve drags White into the ring, and then clamps on a cording hold. White grabs ropes, the ref counts, Swerve takes a swing, but White EXPLODERS Swerve up and out!
White goes out after Swerve, hauls him up, and APRON GOURD BUSTERS! Swerve writhes and flounders but White refreshes the ring count. White then RAMS Swerve into steel steps! Swerve gets in the ring, White pursues and covers, TWO! White clamps onto Swerve’s bad arm, then traps the other, and he stretches Swerve out as Dynamite returns to single picture. Swerve fights up, but White throws him down by hair! White again mocks the chant, “Whose House?” Bryan commends Swerve on toughness. He had a brutal Texas Deathmatch with Hangman Page, and the only thing taped up is that arm.
Speaking of, White clamps onto the arms again, but Swerve endures. Swerve fights up, throws body shots, but White throws him down by his hair! Fans boo, Swerve gets up to SLAP White! Swerve CHOPS, White waistlocks, but Swerve swings elbows. White gets under to SAIDO! White then storms up to drag Swerve up, CORNER HALF HATCH! Cover, TWO! Swerve is still in this but White scuffs him. White mockingly says he needs his points. White knees Swerve low, and again, but Swerve blocks the chop! Swerve wrenches, gets around, HAMMERLOCK BACK SUPLEX! White writhes and fans fire up!
Swerve snarls, storms up on White, and he ROCKS him! Body shot! Forearm! Body shot! Repeat! Swerve snapmares, rolls, but White catches the Complete Shot, but then Swerve slips out of the Urenage! Swerve goes to a corner, White runs in but Swerve goes up and over to O’Conner and Eddy Gordo RANA! White tumbles, staggers, into the SOMERSAULT COMPLETE SHOT! And then a gator roll into a deadlift suplex! Fans fire up as Swerve covers, TWO!! White survives and Swerve grows frustrated. Fans still rally up behind Swerve, and he grabs White’s wrist. White resists but Swerve still drags him up.
White reaches out, kicks Swerve’s legs, then gets free. White swings, Swerve dodges and comes back, COMPLETE SHOT from White! White then waistlocks to deadlift GERMAN SUPLEX! White runs up, but Swerve DISCUS LARIATS! Fans are thunderous while both men are down and Bryan says, “How incredible are these two men?!” A standing count starts, both men stir, and White flounders to ropes. “This is Awesome!” as White comes back, he and Swerve go forehead to forehead, and they trade junkyard dog headbutts. Swerve laughs, White throws hands! Swerve throws them back! They go back and forth, faster and faster!
Fans rally up as the shots keep flying, and Swerve DECKS White! Fans fire up, Swerve smiles, but White grabs at Swerve’s legs. Swerve grabs at White, White CHOP BLOCKS! White then gets the bad arm, clinches, and URENAGES! Cover, TWO!! Swerve is still in this, this isn’t anything compared to Texas Death! White clamps on with the sleeper, though, and he hauls Swerve up. Swerve throws elbows, but White wrangles him for a FUJIWARA ARMBAR! Fans fire up, Swerve endures, White CLUBS away on the bad arm and pulls! Swerve reaches out, fights around, but White keeps him from ropes by pulling hair!
Swerve and White roll together, but Swerve slips around to get White’s arms trapped! Swerve stands on that arm! Finger gun and BANG!! The arm goes back and the fans tell Swerve he’s sick! Swerve grins, storms up on White and drags him up again. But White fights the half nelson and puts Swerve in a corner. The ref counts, White arm-drags free, but then Swerve sends him at the ref! White stops himself, LOW- NO! Swerve blocks the kick, he was paying attention to last week! Swerve slips around and hits a BACKBREAKER! Fans fire up, Swerve runs to HOUSE CALL!! Swerve fights up, fights the sleeper, and hits an ELBOW BREAKER! But White still rolls Swerve up with his other arm! TWO! White storms up, Swerve trips and jackknife bridges, TWO!! BLADE- NO, Swerve slips free, but White fights the half nelson! And CHOPS!

Swerve uses a leg to get free but White has him again, SNAP SLEEPER SUPLEX!! Then the clinch, BLADE- ARM-DRAG!! Cradle cover, SWERVE WINS!!!
Winner: Swerve Strickland, by pinfall (gains 3 points; White earns 0)
White is shocked that he got beat! The #Jay1 aside, these points go to The Realest! Will the Gold League soon be whose house?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite, with awesome Continental Classic matches. But also really good non-tournament matches, such as that Trios Match. Great return to action for Dante Martin, great win for him and his trio, and those three could really build themselves up into trios title contenders with matches like this. And really good TBS Championship match Julia and Emi, though they need to get better at bringing up how House Rules work. No Ropebreaks, the ring count is to 20, and there’s Dealer’s Choice. They just kinda threw out there that this was gonna be a No Submission Falls, which was honestly a brilliant move by Emi. But in the end, of course Julia wins, it’s still too early for her to lose this belt.
Wardlow squashing- heck, he demolished AR Fox, is fine for Wardlow but a shame for Fox. Wardlow is still staying strong as he waits for the right moment to go after MJF again, but maybe, just maybe, he’s been going after MJF all along as that big guy among the “gimp squad” that tried to get MJF tonight. Great promo from MJF to not just praise Joe but also bury Punk without having to actually reference Punk going back to WWE. Joe made the save as expected, and now they’re getting dragged into a tag match against any two of those goons, and who knows who they are really, but can’t wait to see how this all goes.
Awesome stuff from Christian and Edge tonight, a brilliant move for Christian to so blatantly play to Edge’s emotions just to save his own ass. But of course it was also brilliant for Edge to not fall for it at all and get the better of Christian. But uh, AEW needs to be better at live censoring their shows, that GFY got right past them. That aside, that TNT Championship match is going to be awesome stuff, could go either way, but I still want to see Luchasaurus betray Christian and finally become his own man-dinosaur. Not Jack Perry’s tag partner, not Christian’s henchman, but his own man doing his own stuff.
And as I said at the start, awesome Continental Classic matches. Bryan Danielson also being on commentary for these was a good move, that could easily be a thing he does after he retires, except I think part of retiring is staying home with the family. Anyway, Moxley VS Lethal was a great opening match, and I figured Moxley would win that. Maybe Lethal realizes he really has let Team Triple J weaken him with all their antics. Rush VS Briscoe then raised the bar, though with a somewhat scary moment where I thought Rush took a shot to the head but it was really a concern for his leg. Rush winning was a fair choice, and that puts pressure on a possible 0-2 VS 0-2, Lethal VS Briscoe in the next round. I say “possible” because Tony Khan doesn’t reveal the entire schedule at once.
And then just an awesome, borderline PPV level match of Swerve VS White. The fans were strongly behind Swerve, I was behind Swerve, so it’s great to see Swerve get to 2-0. Swerve’s becoming my top choice for Gold League and maybe even the entire thing. Swerve having the ROH World, NJPW Strong Openweight and the AEW Continental Championships, he could really do a lot with traveling between the three brands. Mogul Embassy is already in ROH given they’re ROH World Six Man Champions, and the Gates are in NJPW right now for World Tag League, so Swerve joining them pretty much everywhere, all four of them having belts, that’s great stuff to me.
My Score: 9/10

Did your picks win points?
The AEW Continental Classic is underway, with almost everyone competing. Check in here if you haven’t seen the winners and losers of week 1!
Here are your Gold League standings!
- Jon Moxley: 1-0, 3 points
- Swerve Strickland: 1-0, 3 points
- Jay White: 1-0, 3 points
- Rush: 0-1, 0 points
- Mark Briscoe: 0-1, 0 points.
- Jay Lethal: 0-1, 0 points
Here are your Blue League standings!
- Brody King: 1-0, 3 points
- Claudio Castagnoli: 1-0, 3 points
- Daniel Garcia: 0-1, 0 points
- Eddie Kingston: 0-1, 0 points
- Bryan Danielson: Yet to Compete
- Andrade El Idolo: Yet to Compete
My Thoughts:
Nothing too crazy, nothing too wild, this tournament only just got started. The only disappointing point is that they could not get Bryan “cleared to compete” Saturday night. Not sure how much of that is shoot given the bad eye, but this was kinda the problem of wanting him in the tournament over tons of other choices. Bryan wants to face Okada for WrestleKingdom 18, how is Bryan supposed to do that at his best if he’s also gonna be in a round robin, doing five top level matches in about as many weeks? And it takes away from Andrade being able to do something. Also a little surprised we didn’t even hear from Andrade on Saturday.
Now as we heard on Saturday, round two’s matches are set. Gold League will see Mark Briscoe VS Rush, White VS Swerve, and of course, Moxley VS Lethal. Nice variety there, a couple 0-1 guys facing off, as well as two 1-0 guys, and then 1-0 VS 0-1. No offense to Lethal, but he feels like an 0-2 going up against Moxley. Hard to call the other ones but that’s the fun of it. Meanwhile, Blue League sees Brody VS Claudio in a showdown to be 2-0, then Bryan and Andrade finally jump in, Bryan against Eddie and Andrade against Garcia. Sadly, feels like Eddie and Garcia are going 0-2, no way Tony Khan is booking Bryan and Andrade to lose their first shots.
In fact, that could be half the reason they did wait on those two, that’s almost too good for just a first round opener. But I still would’ve done it, same as NJPW does stuff like that for round robins, which this is all modeled after anyway.
