AEW World Championship Title Eliminator: Samoa Joe VS Dustin Rhodes!

The One True King of Wrestling Television would not accept The Natural’s request for a world championship match! However, out of respect for Dustin’s storied career but also as a way to send a message to the rest of AEW, Joe is giving Dustin this opportunity to earn a shot. Will all Rhodes lead to championship gold? Or will he be put down trying?

WAIT! Swerve Strickland attacks Joe during his entrance! And he doesn’t let up! They tumble off the stage, brawl around by the crowd, and Joe sends Swerve hard into railing! Joe clears off a spare table, props it up against the railing, and then storms after Swerve. Joe CLUBS away, Swerve throws body shots but Joe whips. Swerve reverses but Joe stops from hitting table! Swerve runs back in to SPEAR Joe through the table!! The fans are thunderous for “A E DUB!” while medics check Joe. That was a rough hit against wood and railing, and refs rush out to stop Swerve from adding on. Swerve still gets his shot at Dynasty, but will Joe even make it there?

AEW shares footage from after last week’s Dynamite.

Falling short of the AEW World Tag Team Championships again clearly snapped something inside of Trent Beretta as he hit Orange Cassidy with a surprise Busaiku Knee and then stormed off, leaving even Mama Sue behind. Kris Statlander found Trent and got in his face about what he did to their Best Friend! What’s he even doing?! Trent whispered something to Kris then stormed off again. Kris didn’t seem any happier about this after that, but just what did Trent say?

Backstage interview with Best Friends.

Renee Paquette waits outside of the locker room, hoping to get a word from Orange Cassidy, even though he is a man of few words. However, what she did get from him is that this Friday Night Rampage, Cassidy will have a match, and then he will address Trent’s heartless actions.

AEW TNT Championship: Adam “Edge” Copeland VS Penta El Zero Miedo w/ Alex Abrahantes!

The Rated R Superstar has been throwing out opportunities with The Cope Open, but this time around, it was someone else throwing out the challenge to him! Penta wants his shot, and now he’s got it! Edge is in trouble as Dynamite goes back to picture in picture.

Penta drags Edge in, has him in a corner, then stomps him some more. The ref counts, Penta lets off to rally the fans, and Edge stirs. Penta paces while he waits on Edge, and he tells him to listen to the fans. Penta then pulls on Edge’s arm! The ref counts as Edge is in the ropes, and Penta lets off at 4. Penta grabs legs, but Edge kicks at Penta! Penta lets go and falls back, and Edge finally rises. Penta SUPERKICKS him back down! Penta says this is done, and he clamps onto Edge with a SLEEPER! Edge endures, and gets the ROPEBREAK! The ref counts and Penta lets go at 4. The ref reprimands but Penta just goes back to Edge.

Backstage interview with Chris Jericho, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata.

Renee is now with #LionHook and The Wrestler and notes that last week on Collision, The Ocho & FTW Champion had a great win over Shane Taylor Promotions. It wasn’t without a brutal attack from STP and their new member, Anthony Ogogo, right after. However, redemption could be here tonight in the Six Man Tag as Hook brought Shibata into the mix. What is their strategy tonight? Jericho says yes, Hook brought in Shibata, and Jericho appreciates that, it shows Hook is listening and learning from what Jericho is saying. And Jericho thinks that tonight’s strategy is simple: Hook and Shibata will sit under the learning tree of Jericho, and he will start with Ogogo.

Jericho vows to knock Ogogo’s block off after he knocked Jericho out. Then tag to Hook, he’ll dump Shane Taylor on his head. Tag to Shibata, Shibata will kick Lee Moriarty, stretch him out, put him in that sleeper hold, it’s done. If they listen to Jericho, and he knows they will, and if they breathe the rarified air of Jericho, which they are, then there’s nothing but success for them in the future. Bet? Hook says bet. Shibata has Google Translate say “Bet” for him, and they all fist bump. Jericho says he’ll see them out there, then leaves. Shibata again uses voice-to-text to ask, “What is his deal?” Hook says just trust Hook.

Shibata again uses voice to text to say he likes Renee’s necklace. She thanks him for that, and wishes him luck. The Wizard may be making this about himself, but will all three still make it work against Shane Taylor Promotions?

Backstage interview with Eddie Kingston & Mark Briscoe.

Dynamite returns as Renee is now with The Mad King and the NEW ROH World Champion. She congratulates Mark on winning that title at Supercard of Honor, and notes they put each other through a lot that night. Physically, how are they feeling with just 11 days until Dynasty and the Six Man Tag match? Mark says he ain’t gonna lie, he’s feeling amazing. But simultaneously, he’s in pain because they had a dog fight, a war! How’s Kingston feeling? A little confused, cuz he isn’t sure what “simultaneously” means. But Eddie’s beat up, but hey, it’s pro-wrestling, it’s a way of life, they gotta do what they gotta do.

Edge finds his way over to them, with Willow and Stokely Hathaway, too. Edge says he saw said dog fight, they good? Yeah? Okay. Edge is about as good as he can be. Not sure if they saw, but Brody & Julia showed up, they tried to get the jump on Edge, so he wants to make sure they’re all good. Willow says she has a great idea ahead of Dynasty, actually. But then Stokely speaks up and says what if they have a TNT Championship match, Edge VS… WILLOW! She gon’ whoop yo ass, Edge! Willow says no, that’s not the idea. Willow says Brody tried to get Edge, Julia tried to get her, but it didn’t work, Willow’s eyes are good.

So how about next week on Dynamite, they team up? Yeah, Edge likes where she’s going! So before Dynasty, House of Black VS Rated R Chickenhawks or whatever, just kinda made that up off the top of his head, before that, Mixed Tag! Edge & Willow VS Brody & Julia! Willow says yeah, that’s the plan! They fist bump and Stokely says last time he saw Eddie, he said he smelled like Newports and Burger King and he just wants to apologize. Eddie storms off and Willow has Stokely hush. Edge says congrats to Mark on the big win in Philly, but will they all get a big win in St. Louis?

The Young Bucks speak.

The EVPs, Matthew & Nicholas Jackson, sit in the back and say the TV audience is finally ready to see this footage. Without further ado, here’s the- Whoa, wait, hold on. Matt wants Nick to give the people some context. Oh, right, set the table first. Okay. Nick tells AEW that there is a massive PPV coming up. April 21st, it is AEW Dynasty. The finals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament will be FTR VS The Bucks. And that got Nick thinking, the last time they faced off was last year, AEW All In: London. There are some wounds that haven’t really healed. And those wounds have been opened up, so there’s no better time to talk about that than now.

Nick says it was the biggest show in AEW history, the biggest show in wrestling that the Bucks have ever been part of, and the biggest match they were ever part of. A lot of fans and a lot of critics said that whoever won that match would be coined as the greatest tag team of this generation. Matt says just before that match, there was an… incident… involving two individuals. The first being “The Scapegoat,” Jack Perry. Jack is a lovable kid from Southern California, much like The Bucks. Reminds Matt of themselves at that age. And someone even said about Jack that if you’ve got a problem with Jack, then you’re the problem.

And the other individual- Nick cuts Matt off there. Nick says that other guy tried to make AEW all about himself. Matter of fact, that other guy happens to be a good friend of FTR. That got Nick thinking… Maybe FTR were the masterminds behind the entire thing? Matt says Nick can’t say that. He can’t legally say that, he can’t just spread rumors and slander. Right, sorry, that is very unprofessional. Quick cut to another take, as Matthew explains that while the Bucks were dealing with the fallout of said incident, it is safe to say that The Bucks were thrown off of their game. They had to put their “EVP caps” on and neglect being pro-wrestlers for a moment.

The locker room was in disarray, respectable journalists needed answers, the Bucks had no time to hydrate or even pray. If you look in the history books, you’ll see FTR beat The Bucks at All In: London. But if you asked Matt or anyone else in this room (which is really only Nick), there needs to be an asterisk there. But hey, after opening up these old wounds, airing the laundry, the incident itself isn’t even the worst part. As you’ll see in a second, it was short, and resembles more of a high school scrap than anything.

But Matt would argue this: Not that it was a short incident, but the ramifications that came from the incident “threatened to take down our biggest show of all time,” but they’re damn lucky that it didn’t. Nick says with that being said, roll tape. The tape does roll, and while no audio is rolling, we see in admittedly low quality security camera footage, Jack Perry returning backstage, Doc Sampson checking his back after that car windshield fall in his FTW Championship match. Samoa Joe is pacing, preparing for his shot at the “Real” AEW World Championship, and then in walks over You Know Who, and he gets right in Jack’s face.

Jack tries to brush Punk off but Punk wouldn’t let it go. He kept telling Jack things, Jack didn’t seem to care very much, they argued a bit more, then Punk shoves first! Punk shoves again, Jack rams into him, there’s the facelock Punk himself has copped to, and Joe joins the refs rushing in to break this up. The two are separated, other wrestlers have walked over to see what’s the matter, that might even be Chris Hero calming Punk down. Punk storms off after that, Hook and others are calming Jack down, and that’s the end of the footage. Matt says there you have it. Again, not the worst part of the incident, not even close.

For Matt, the worst part about it all was creating a wrestling show, naming it, filling the building with the most people that have ever witnesses a wrestling show, only to be distracted by something so stupid, that you lose on your big night! Then at the end, FTR has the balls to stick their hands out to shake their damn hands? At Dynasty, The Bucks ain’t shaking your hands, “you pr*cks!” FTR better be ready! Matt unbuttons his suit jacket and it seems he’s wearing a Scapegoat Jack Perry shirt… The EVPs storm off set, message sent. Will FTR respond with actions at Dynasty?

Wait, FTR is here now!

Unscheduled to be here right now, Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood go right to the ring and get mics! Cash asks, “Why?” Why was the footage shared? What’re the Bucks hoping to accomplish by doing this? Other than having an excuse as to why they lost at Wembley, that is. Cash isn’t sure about everyone else, but he is sick and tired of hearing about this! He is sick and tired of talking about this! Everyone back there is ready to move on, to put that moment in the past! But instead of talking about Revolution, about All In 2024 coming up, instead of talking about how AEW is doing some of the best shows ever, we’re talking about #BrawlIn! WHY!?

Because oh, “Rod & Todd Flanders” can’t let go that they lost to FTR! The fans cheer FTR and Cash says now, Dynasty, go ahead and put on those EVPs caps so you can hear this. FTR have to beat The Bucks. Not for legacy, not for history, or even to be the best tag team of all time. It is because FTR is sick of these “petty little b*tches!” The fans fire up and Dax gets the mic now. “So that’s our bosses. That’s who we work for. Every interview they have, or every time they get a chance to talk, they let us all know that without them, hundreds of people would be out of a job. They let us all know that without them, AEW probably wouldn’t exist.

“And y’know, the crazy thing, the scary thing is, I don’t necessarily disagree with you. Because without The Young Bucks, I still might be shaving Cash’s back.” But in all seriousness, because of The Bucks, FTR have something that makes them sick! That The Bucks cannot get over! They’ll never admit it, but because of The Bucks, now FTR has eclipsed them as the absolute best team on this planet! The fans cheer that! And at one time, Bucks cared about these three letters, AEW. But somewhere along the way, from greed or envy, they lost it. Now three other letters have taken over, and they only care about the EVPs.

So if it takes Dax’s last breath, on the backs of FTR, of Samoa Joe, of Swerve Strickland, of Daniel Garcia, Darby Allin, Willow Nightingale, every single man and woman in the back, who come to work every week and want to be here, they will build this. They will continue to build AEW. Not just for them, because it isn’t a selfish ambition. They’re building things for the future of pro-wrestling. So that wrestlers have a choice, can make a living, but more importantly, they are building this for every single man, woman and child that goes to work every day, week in and week out, and spends their hard-earned money on one ticket.

This is for the fans who spend their money to get lost in this drama, to get lost in this action. FTR is doing this for the people! And if The Bucks don’t wanna be part of that AEW, then go home, they’ve got this. The fans cheer FTR on, and Dax says he loves y’all, too. But again, this ain’t about Wembley, All In, All Out. This is about AEW! This is about a company Dax loves, an industry that Dax loves, but more specifically, this is about the AEW World Tag Team Championships. Two teams walk in, one team walks out to call themselves the GREATEST Tag Team in the World! One team walks out the FIRST-EVER THREE-TIME AEW World Tag Team Champions!

Bucks, you may have built this place, but brick by brick, shingle by shingle, FTR puts the roof on this house! And they’ll turn right around and blow the roof off this sumbish! #TopGuysOut! The fans are fired up with FTR, will they stop at nothing to build their Dynasty?

Renee Paquette is on stage.

She welcomes to Dynamite the Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay! The fans fire up as the #BillyGOAT is here, and Renee says it is great to see him. She heard he has some things he wants to get off his chest, what’s going on? Ospreay says he’s been thinking about this all week, and he only just saw Bryan’s comments from last week, so he wants to respond to that, too. Apologies, guys, Ospreay wants to talk, and Tony Khan said he’s got five minutes cuz TV time’s expensive. So there’s this rumor, right? That Ospreay is afraid of “the grind?” To be honest, he doesn’t know where this conversation has come from.

Ospreay is the only guy traveling every single week between UK and US, eight to ten hours a flight, and he is delivering some of the best matches this world has ever seen, bruv! The fans cheer that! And normally, Ospreay wouldn’t rise to this type of bait, but considering the guy who said it is only in the position he has because he was grinding on the boss’ daughter… “You are in no position to tell me what the grind is all about, my friend, because you have no idea what I fight for. So let this be a painful little jab back, and a gentle reminder, that you do not throw stones at an assassin with a machine gun.”

Now to Bryan, after hearing how Bryan admitting Ospreay is: stronger than him, which he is; faster than him, which he is; and the only way Bryan has a chance of winning is if he grounds The Aerial Assassin… Ospreay says this with every bit of respect under the sun, sunshine. Healthier men have tried and failed. Younger men have tried and failed. And better men have tried and failed! And yet, yet, this is Bryan Danielson! Bryan is a living legend in this game, son! And Ospreay cannot say it any more, cannot call himself the best in the world, until after Dynasty and Ospreay pins Bryan. Because these fans have paid a lot of money to see the best wrestlers go at it!

The fans fire up for that one! Ospreay says this is AEW, where the BEST wrestle! And it is Ospreay’s time! It is his time to show every single person what he’s about, what he brings to the table, and why he is the Ace of All Elite Wrestling! Bryan, you find out on Sunday, April 21st, why he is Will Ospreay, and why he is on! Another! LEVEL! The fans are already thunderous for this dream match, but will Ospreay be able to slay the American Dragon?

Julia Hart speaks.

“Willow~…! Willow~…! Strong. Powerful. Always has a spark inside of her. But little does she know, a single spark can start a raging fire. I peel back your mask and show you carry more than smiles and rainbows. Hurt, anger, you envy me. You know what I’m capable of. Yet you keep coming back for more. I shall kill your spark, turn your smile into a frown, and make sure you never touch my crown. I am The Princess of the Black Throne, Keeper of Secrets, and it is my destiny to stay the TBS Champion. The House Always Wins.”

Six Man Tag: Chris Jericho, Hook & Katsuyori Shibata VS Shane Taylor Promotions!

As we heard The Ocho game plan earlier, he wants after Anthony Ogogo, and will leave Big Bad Shaney T. and #TAIGASTYLE to the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil and The Wrestler. But will things go their way? Or will STP prove Mike Tyson right that everyone has a plan, ’til they get punched in the mouth?

The teams sort out and Jericho starts against Ogogo, just as he wanted. The fans rally up as the two circle, but then Ogogo says nope, and tags Lee. Jericho CLOBBERS Lee, CHOPS him, CHOPS again, then CHOPS again! Jericho headlocks, Lee powers out, but Jericho runs him over! Things keep moving, Jericho LIONSAULTS! Cover, TWO! Jericho DROPKICKS Lee, Lee goes to a corner, and Jericho clotheslines him! Jericho fires point blank clotheslines, and the fans count along as he goes to OCHO, then TEN! Jericho puts Lee up top, CHOPS, then climbs. Jericho SUPER STEINERS and the fans fire up!

Jericho keeps to the plan and he- Oh, wait, Shibata tags in. Well, Jericho did say Lee was Shibata’s so Shibata BOOTS Lee, brings him up, but Lee fires a forearm! Shibata just stares Lee down! Lee fires more forearms, then CHOPS! Shibata eggs Lee on and Lee fires a flurry. Shibata ROCKS Lee with just one! Shibata snapmares then KICKS Lee in the back! Lee avoids the Penalty Kick, scrambles away and he tags in Shane. Shibata and Shane circle, feel things out, but Hook reaches out. Again, this is the plan, so Shibata tags in Hook. The fans fire right up for the FTW Champion as he circles with Shane.

Shane throws hands but Hook bobs ‘n’ weaves! Hook fires hands in return but Shane has his guard up. Hook runs but Ogogo gets a cheap shot in! The ref reprimands but Ogogo avoids Hook’s haymaker. Shane runs up but Hook gets around, only for the SOUTHPAW to hit! The fans boo but STP soaks up the heat, and Shane drags Hook up in a corner while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Shane CHOPS, Hook sputters, but Shane keeps him from his corner. Shane shoves Hook into the STP corner, winds up, and CHOPS again! Hook drops to his knees, Ogogo tags in, and Ogogo whips Hook to the open corner. Ogogo stomps a mudhole in, the ref counts, but Ogogo lets off at 4. Ogogo drags Hook up, snapmares, then KICKS Hook in the back! Ogogo runs to basement BOOT! Ogogo drags Hook up, bumps him off buckles, then tags in Shane. Shane stomps a mudhole now, but the ref counts. Shane digs his boots in, Lee taunts the crowd with a shimmy and shake, and Shane lets off at 4. Shane distracts the ref so Lee can CHOKE Hook!

Shane taunts Jericho & Shibata, the ref keeps them back, and Shane drags Hook up. Hook throws body shots, but Shane ROCKS him! Shane brings Hook around, scoops and SLAMS him, then runs to SPLASH! Cover, Jericho breaks it! Jericho coaches Hook on, taunts Shane, and rallies the fans. Shane snarls, but he keeps on Hook with body shots at the ropes. Hook sputters and crawls but Shane puts him in a corner. Hook fires hands in return! Shane ROKCKS Hook again, and again, and again! Shane HEADBUTTS Hook down, then stalks him back to ropes. Shane drags Hook up as Dynamite returns to single picture, and Hook fires hands!

Hook kicks, Shane blocks, and Shane shoves Hook down! Hook avoids the knee and waistlocks! GERMAN SUPLEX!! The fans are thunderous while both men are down! Hook and Shane crawl, Ogogo distracts Jericho, so hot tags to Lee and Shibata! Shibata BOOTS Lee, BLASTS Ogogo, then BOOTS Lee again! Shibata whips corner to corner and BOOTS! Shibata fires forearms, UPPERCUTS, then CHOPS! And JABS! CHOPS! JABS! CHOPS! JAB CHOPS! Shibata runs to HYDRAULIC DROPKICK! The fans are thunderous again as Shibata drags Lee up and HALF HATCHES! Cover, TWO!

Shibata keeps cool as he brings Lee back up. Shibata ROCKS Lee, ROCKS him again, and the fans rally. Shibata ROCKS Lee again, UPPERCUTS, then runs side to side. But Lee dodges, the BOOT hits Jericho! Lee rolls Shibata up, TWO! Lee fires hands on Shibata, then fires up! Lee runs, but Shibata catches him to an STO! The fans fire up while both men are down, and Jericho checks his nose. Shibata crawls, but Jericho pulls Hook aside?! Jericho is mad with Hook about Shibata but Hook says not to worry about that, worry about the match! Lee sneaks up on Shibata, but Shibata switches with Lee! Lee throws elbows, runs, but Shibata dodges the boot to SLEEPER!

Lee flails, Ogogo distracts the ref so Shane can get in and ROCK Shibata! The fans boo as now Lee gives Shibata THE FANG! Cover, STP WIN!!

Winners: Shane Taylor Promotions, by pinfall

Jericho and Hook now realize their argument just cost them the match! Shane Taylor Promotions gets one of their biggest wins yet, and now Hook is mad with Jericho. Hook tells Jericho to just go, he’s why Shibata’s down and out. Jericho says okay, and he exits the ring. Hook helps Shibata up, did Jericho just ruin the mentor-student relationship?

Backstage interview with Dustin Rhodes.

Renee is with The Natural and says despite Swerve attacking Joe, Joe is still able to compete tonight. This title eliminator is so important to Dustin because it could mean a future world championship match. Does Swerve attacking Joe change Dustin’s strategy at all? Absolutely not. We know what’s on the line here. We all heard Dustin when he said he has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Right now, Dustin believes the time for talk is over! We’re in Charleston, West Virginia, The Nature is in the house and here for business, babeh! If you can’t get down with that, he doesn’t know what to tell ya!

But he does know this, Charleston! Grit, work ethic, passion and glory! That is what he does every single week in and out, and tonight will be no different. Dustin is all fired up, will he have the biggest win of his AEW career in tonight’s main event?

Kazuchika Okada VS Cristiano Argento!

The Rainmaker, The AEW Continental Champion, has come to Charleston on a three match win streak! Will Okada keep is going? Or will Italian Excellence find a way to dry up the rain?

The bell rings and the fans fire up for “O-KA-DA! O-KA-DA!” already. Okada and Argento circle, tie up, and Okada puts Argento on ropes. The ref counts, Okada lets off, but Argento fires a forearm! Argento kicks low, throws a haymaker, but Okada doesn’t flinch! Okada DECKS Argento with one shot! Okada kicks and CLUBS Argento around, then brings him up. Okada Alabama Lifts, tucks Argento in, REVERSE NECKBREAKER! Argento writhes and the fans fire up again! Okada literally does not sweat Argento, and he might even be bored. Okada dares Argento to hit him, so Argento throws a forearm, a kick, and a CHOP! Okada just stares Argento down.

Argento runs, but Okada DROPKICKS him down! Then ripcord and RAINMAKER! Cover, Okada wins!

Okada didn’t even need half his arsenal, he just washed Argento away! Then he gets the mic to say, “Hey, Pac! I accept your challenge.” The fans cheer that! Okada says he’ll see Pac at Dynasty! Wait! The Bastard says Okada will see him now, because here he is! Pac applauds Okada having the bullocks to face him, but wait, the EVPs are sneaking out here! The elevator rises and The Bucks CLOBBER Pac from behind! The fans boo as Matthew & Nicholas mug Pac, put him in, and then Okada feeds Pac to DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! The fans boo but The Bucks soak it all up, “This is too easy!”

Okada grins as he drags Pac up, but the fans chant for “C M PUNK!” Okada ripcords, but FTR make the save! They TOSS Okada and fire hands off on The Bucks! Cash dodges Nick to then clothesline him up and out! Dax fires off on Matt, FTR set up, and Matt wobbles. But Okada is back, with a chair! He JAMS Cash, JAMS Dax, then SMACKS Dax down! The fans boo again, but Nick returns. Matt SUPERKICKS Cash, Nick SUPERKICKS Dax! Matt SUPERKICKS Dax, and then sets FTR up with Nick! E V P TRIGGER!! Okada isn’t done, he sees Pac rising! HEADSHOT!! Pac goes down from the steel chair to his face!

The NEW Elite stands tall over Pac and FTR, is nothing going to stop them from being the Golden Elite?

Bullet Club Gold speaks.

The ROH World Six Man Tag Team Champions are backstage, admiring Jay White’s new jacket with the paint drip pattern. White says hello to the Charleston Gold Members, and says the wrestling world is once again abuzz about The Bang Bang Gang. Let’s get a recap of what they’ve been up to. Number one: they crushed Darby Allin’s dreams, along with his ankle. Number two: they successfully defended the ROH Six Man Championships at Supercard of Honor. Number three and most important: the world witnessed Switchblade put the biggest, baddest beating on Billy Gunn you ever did see!

White loved it so much, he wants to do it again on Rampage! But not against Billy, no, Billy wouldn’t survive that. But there’s always someone else. How about they go find someone, line them up and White knocks it out of the park. If you ain’t done with that, they’ve got two words for ya: Guns Up! But then who will King Switch use as a tune-up for taking on the rest of The Acclaimed?

Renee Paquette is back on stage.

She thanks Charleston for being here, and welcomes them in joining her. Per the request of the AEW Women’s World Champion, tonight is a Charleston Championship Champagne Toast! April 21st, the title is on the line “against a woman who had to vacate that very title two years ago.” Please welcome first, Thunder Rosa! The fans cheer La Mera Mera as she makes her way out here and hugs Renee. And now, please welcome the Timeless Champion, Toni Storm! The fans also cheer as AEW’s leading lady makes her way out, Luther by her side. Renee thanks Toni for putting this toast together. She requested this time so the floor is hers.

What kind of champagne did they get? Everyone gets a glass, and Renee says Toni may toast away. Toni holds up her glass, to SPLASH Rosa in the face! Toni then DECKS Rosa, rains down fists, but Rosa kicks her away! Rosa sputters, gets up, but Toni CLOBBERS her with the silver platter! Toni smears Rosa’s face paint, then swings the terrible towel! But Deonna Purrazzo rushes out here! Luther stands in her way, so Deonna just checks on Rosa. Rosa lashes out, not knowing who is who. Deonna says fine, F her. Deonna storms off, Rosa tries to stand, but the refs have to help Rosa to the back. And now, Toni’s protege comes out for her match!

Toni is confused at first, then remembers the schedule. Toni takes a quick swig of bubbly, then gives Mariah a kiss good luck! Mariah is all fired up, but will champagne kisses truly become caviar dreams? Or will Anna Jay remind us that she’s the Star of the Show?

Mariah May VS Anna Jay!

The bell rings and the two circle. The fans rally, Mariah and Anna tie up, and Mariah puts Anna on ropes. They go around to all the different sides of the ring, then break. Anna goes to a corner, Mariah says kiss this! SWEET HIP- NO, Anna dodges! Anna runs in to ELBOW, then she fires off forearm after forearm! Anna whips, runs in, and HEEL KICKS! Then Anna puts Mariah up top, has the arms, ICONOCLASM! Cover, TWO! Mariah stays in this and the fans rally up. Anna drags Mariah up, clinches, but Mariah fights with elbows! Mariah is free, she brings Anna around to whip, but Anna reverses. Anna runs in, but Mariah just manages to slip out to the apron! Mariah blocks a shot to ROUNDHOUSE Anna! Mariah climbs, leaps, MISSILE DROPKICK! Anna flounders to the corner and the fans fire up!

Mariah runs corner to corner, SWEET HIP MUSIC! Mariah then drags Anna to a cover, TWO!! Anna survives but Mariah says this is the end! Mariah drags Anna up, fireman’s carries, but Anna slips free, wrenches and HOOK KICKS! Cover, TWO! Mariah stays in this but Anna stays on her with a clinch and COMPLETE SHOT! Cover, TWO! Mariah survives again and Anna is losing her cool! Anna says that’s it! She drags Mariah up, hooks her up in the Gory Especial, but Mariah sunset flips through it! MARIAH WINS!

Winner: Mariah May, by pinfall

Anna got mad and lost sight of the match! She grabs Mariah for a QUEENSLAYER SLEEPER!! Mariah flails but Anna drags her down into the body scissors!! Anna makes Mariah fade, but wait! Here comes Mina Shirakawa! Mariah and Mina had their reunion during Supercard, so now the Fighting H-Cup is here to make the save! Anna gets outta there, and Mina checks on her former sidekick. Mina then gets some champagne glasses, just like Supercard! She helps Mariah come to with a toast, a sip, and a kiss! #RoseGold is having fun in Charleston, but will they be All Elite?

BREAKING NEWS for Rampage!

Jay White has found his target! The Zen Assassin, Matt Sydal, wants to take his shot, but will he take down the NJPW Grand Slam Champion? Or will he simply #BreatheWithTheSwitchblade? Plus, Julia Hart still has her LEGIT Open House Match with Leyla Hirsch, what stipulation will Leyla deal to the champion? Then, the grudge match finally happens as Angelo Parker takes on Zak Knight! And lastly, Orange Cassidy is looking to take his Freshly Squeezed frustrations out, he’s taking on Alex Reynolds of the Dark Order! Will Cassidy send a message to his former Best Friend in Trent?

Backstage interview with Mercedes Mone.

Alex Marvez sits down with The CEO, and thanks her for taking this time. He asks about last week, when she said she wanted to face whoever is TBS Champion come Double or Nothing. Mone says yes, Double or Nothing! Five years ago, history was made when AEW had its first ever PPV in Las Vegas. Mone is a history maker, gamechanger, and she decided to make history yet again when she staked her claim to go to Vegas and become TBS Champion. Because money changes everything. Now, Dynasty is on the way, where Julia Hart defends that title against Willow Nightingale. How does Mone see that match?

She can’t wait to watch! She can’t wait to see those two throw down because they are the very best. And Julia has been one hell of a champion. She’s so mysterious, so unpredictable, you can’t predict the games that she will play. And Julia may have Willow’s number, but Willow on the other hand… Willow is a force to be reckoned with. Mone has been in the ring with Willow, and Willow is dangerous. Marvez wants her to elaborate on that. Mone says it is hard to talk about, because that was the hardest moment in her career. Almost one year ago, Mone faced Willow for the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship.

Not only did Mone lose that match, but she got injured in that match. Not only did she get injured in that match, she lost out on being the first woman to hold the NJPW Strong Women’s title. And if you know anything about Mone, she hates to lose. But being The CEO of AEW, she always has a plan and a mission. She can’t wait for Double or Nothing. Then who would she rather face? Julia Hart? Or Willow Nightingale? Mone thinks about it, but then the lights go out! Someone is attacking Mone in the dark! And when the lights come up, we only see Mone down! Was that Julia trying to make sure Mone doesn’t make it to Vegas? Skye Blue doing Julia’s dirty work? Or…

AEW World Championship Title Eliminator: Samoa Joe VS Dustin Rhodes!

Well, let’s try this again. The One True King respects The Natural’s legacy, but not so far as to give him an outright title opportunity. And this time, Joe brings the steel chain he snatched from Swerve as extra security! Will Joe make Dustin an example to what Swerve’s gonna get at Dynasty? Or will all Rhodes lead to gold?

The bell rings and Dustin runs up on Joe to fire off in the corner! The fans fire up, Joe pushes Dustin back and they brawl. Joe CHOPS, JABS, and JABS! Dustin turns things around to CHOP and fire haymakers! Joe knees low, TOSSES Dustin out, then storms out after him. Joe snarls as he RAMS Dustin into barriers! Dustin sputters, but he comes back to CHOP! And UPPERCUT! The fans fire up as Joe gets in the ring. Dustin pursues but Joe JABS, JABS and JABS! Joe ROLLING- NO, Dustin ducks ‘n’ runs to LARIAT! Joe HEADBUTTS Dustin down, Dustin bails out, and Joe pursues again. Joe POSTS Dustin and Dustin goes down in a heap! Joe snarls while the fans reprimands. Joe goes back for Dustin, drags him up as the ring count climbs, and Dustin is bleeding! Joe punches away on the bloody wound, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Joe drags Dustin up as we pass 5 of 10, and Joe puts Dustin in at 7. Joe is getting the blood he said Dustin would pay, and Joe JABS! Joe DECKS Dustin, then paces around him. Joe sits Dustin up to rain down fists right to the forehead! Dustin sputters to ropes, but Joe storms up behind him. Joe CLAWS at the forehead, but he lets off a the ref reprimands. Dustin takes a swing but Joe ducks, and Dustin stumbles and falls! Joe CHOPS Dustin’s forehead! And CHOPS it again! Joe shows off the blood on his hands, then he JABS Dustin in the corner. Joe digs his boots in, but lets off as the ref counts. Dustin scrambles away but Joe CLUBS him down.

Joe sits Dustin up for a neck wrench, and Joe wants to squeeze the blood out of Dustin’s head! Dustin fights up, throws body shots, but Joe throws Dustin down! Joe runs, FLASH ELBOW! Joe covers, TWO! Joe looms over Dustin as the blood paints that side of Dustin’s face to match the face paint. Joe CLUBS Dustin, CHOPS his forehead, then CHOPS his chest! And CHOPS, and CHOPS, and fires forearms! Dustin fires shots in return! The two brawl, Dustin ROCKS Joe then runs, but into an atomic drop! Dynamite returns to single picture as Joe BOOTS Dustin down! Then Joe SENTONS on top! Cover, TWO!!

Dustin is still in this, his face completely red from face paint and crimson mask. The fans rally and duel, and Dustin reaches up! Joe taunts Dustin, and Dustin rises! Joe CLUBS Dustin, ROCKS him, then CHOPS! Dustin stays up, Joe runs, but Dustin hits the SNAP POWERSLAM! The fans fire up while both men are down! A standing count starts, but Dustin pounds the mat. The fans rally with him and he rises. Dustin fires a hand, Joe gives it back! Dustin UPPERCUTS, Joe UPPERCUTS! Dustin rebound to ROCK Joe! And again! And again! And again! Joe shoves, Dustin dodges, and JABS! JABS! JABS! Flip, Flop, Fly, double dirty birds and a BIONIC ELBOW!

Dustin goes to six, then hops down to headlock. But Joe powers out of the bulldog, then LARIATS Dustin down! Dustin tumbles out of the ring, Joe pursues, and Joe drags Dustin up. Joe brings Dustin around to whip, but Dustin reverses to POST Joe! Joe staggers into the ring, Dustin grabs the belt! Dustin brings the belt in, but the ref says no, Dustin can’t do that! Dustin snarls, aims, but the ref pleads with him!

Dustin sees sense and lets the ref have the belt. Then he BOOTS Joe down! Dustin gets Joe up, dragon sleepers, CROSS RHODES!! Cover, TWO!! Joe survives and Dustin is beside himself! The fans are thunderous all the same as Dustin gets Joe back up. But Joe wrenches out! Dustin blocks a shot to ROCK Joe! Dustin runs in, but into the URENAGE! Joe grabs Swerve’s chain! Now the ref tells Joe not to do it, he’ll hand Dustin the win with that! The ref takes the chain, but Joe has the belt! BELT SHOT!!! The fans boo as Joe gets away with one! Cover, Joe wins!

Winner: Samoa Joe, by pinfall (denies Dustin Rhodes a title opportunity)

Joe steals one from Dustin, but then he puts on the COQUINA CLUTCH!! But wait, here comes a HOUSE CALL!! Swerve saves Dustin but this is about taking out Joe! Swerve gets his steel chain back, and he wraps it around his fist! FULL METAL KNUCKLE!! Joe goes down, dazed, but he’s able to get away before Swerve LASHES him! Security and even wrestlers rush out here to stop this from getting worse! Prince Nana picks up the belt and holds it out to Swerve. Will this be the scene in two weeks? Will Swerve finally establish his Dynasty?

My Thoughts:

A great Dynamite here, but uh… Well, a lot of this got dragged down by that segment. I had a feeling The Bucks would do their best to work-shoot-shoehorn Brawl In into why they lost to FTR last year, given how they’re having the rematch at Dynasty. And naturally, if The Bucks were the ones bringing it up, FTR take the Face position, which is the real position that ALL of AEW should’ve thought to take, which is get past the thing and focus on being AEW. And even if they all insisted on using Brawl In for this, why show the footage? It only helps CM Punk’s side of the argument of this, it didn’t change anything for anyone other than maybe Chris Hero because he was clearly one of the more level heads in that situation.

If you took out this Brawl In work-shoot nonsense, this was a strong episode going towards Dynasty, and we still got a good build from Bucks and FTR anyway. Okada of course wins his match tonight, but also calls out Pac and gets the Continental title match made for Dynasty. Then good attack from The Bucks on Pac, good brawl with Okada & Bucks against Pac and FTR, that could be a great Six Man Tag on the way to Dynasty. That match will surely lend to the math, but maybe something wonky needs to happen to keep everyone even going into Dynasty because it would be way too hard to choose who takes the fall.

Great misdirect with the world title eliminator opening only for Swerve to jump in and mess it up. Then awesome TNT Championship match from Edge and Penta. Naturally, Edge won but great tie-in with the House of Black story. Willow of course helped Edge out and we’re going to get a great Mixed Tag Match. Good promo with Mark & Eddie, too, and I liked Stokely’s bit of trying to make amends with Eddie. Also, incredibly clever move for Mone to be attacked completely in the dark, so that we have no idea who really did it. They could totally pull a twist where it was Willow, her mind finally giving into the black mist that she keeps getting hit by.

As such, Julia has a good promo calling out the darkness within Willow, maybe Willow starts to tease turning Heel during the match at Dynasty to set us up for her “It was ME, Mone! It was me all along!” on the way to Double or Nothing. Also great stuff with the champagne toast being a trap to attack Rosa and then also drive another wedge between Rosa and Deonna. Mariah VS Anna was a great match, and just as I was hoping, Mina showed up to keep the reunion going. A bit more kissy kissy than I expected, but perhaps all the more reason for Storm and Mina to have beef with each other, Mariah in the middle and having to choose if she’s Storm’s protege or Mina’s partner.

Really good Six Man Tag, and really good move for Jericho to be why his team loses. The promo showed his ego getting the better of him, and this is definitely going to get to the point where Hook being upset with Jericho makes Jericho upset with Hook and those two fight over the FTW Championship. Really good promo from Bullet Club Gold, and White is of course going to beat Sydal, but I would think Acclaimed go after him as payback for how things went the last week. And then great main event from Joe VS Dustin, Dustin getting a great showing even though we all knew he was losing. And Swerve getting a shot on Joe evens things out from the contract signing, meaning the go-home next week will surely go Joe’s way.

My Score: 8.4/10

Parking Lot Brawl: Trent Beretta VS Chuck Taylor!

Years of friendship, thrown away, and why? Because #JustTrent had a problem with Freshly Squeezed having more success in AEW than them? Because #JustTrent had a problem with Cassidy as a person? Because #JustTrent turned out to be the selfish one in the relationship? Well, then will #JustTrent get his ass kicked? Or will he take advantage of how Chuckie T. is a Kentucky Gentleman?

Trent stares Chuck down while we hear the crowd of other wrestlers taunting him. Trent takes a swing, but Chuck dodges to fire off hands! The brawl is on, and Chuck gets the edge! Chuck ROCKS Trent, then SMACKS him off a car hood! And then off the car door! Chuck drags Trent up, but Trent RAMS Chuck into the car! And throat chops him just because! Trent gets space, runs back in, but Chuck dodges so Trent hits the passenger door! Chuck gets a trash can lid and he stands Trent up. Trent jumps through the open window but Chuck drags him back out. Trent kicks low, and he gives Chuck a CAR HOOD BACK SUPLEX!

Trent grabs the trash can lid, SMACKS Chuck right in the head and Chuck falls down! The crowd boos but Trent opens a car trunk to bring out a trash can, a dustpan and a baseball bat! Chuck storms up but Trent CHUCKS the trash can into Chuck’s face! Chuck flounders and Trent smirks. Trent SMACKS Chuck with the trash can, CLUBS him around, and Chuck is busted open! The white car has red polka dots on it now, and Trent talks trash, “This is what you wanted?!” Trent runs up, but Chuck POP UP POWERBOMBS Trent onto a car hood! Trent writhes, Chuck staggers around, and Chuck brings Trent around.

Chuck headlocks Trent before he SMACKS him off another car door. Trent goes around the back and then up onto a truck! Chuck follows, and he CLUBS Trent in the chest! But Trent slips under, and he CLAWS Chuck’s bloody face! Trent DECKS Chuck and Chuck falls through drywall sheets! Trent looms over Chuck as he crawls out of the wreckage. Trent stalks Chuck, brings him around and SMACKS him with the trash can lid! Trent hoists Chuck onto a car roof, SMACKS him again, then goes back to the truck. Trent climbs onto the roof of the truck, to FLYING ELBOW from car to car! Cover, TWO!!

Trent is furious, but Chuck is still in this as Rampage goes picture in picture.

Trent fumes, paces around, and goes back to the goodies. He brings out… Is that a screwdriver?! And he JABS Chuck in the head with it!! And then he DIGS it into Chuck’s forehead!! As if he wasn’t already bleeding badly!! Trent leaves Chuck behind, to fetch what looks to be a flat screen TV. Then he brings out a wood door!? Did someone visit Home Depot before coming here? Chuck CHOPS Trent in return then fires haymakers! Trent CLAWS Chuck’s face! Trent grabs that TV and CHUCKS it, only for Chuck to duck it! Rampage returns as TV screen hits windshield! Chuck kicks low to snap suplex Trent through the door!!

The crowd is losing its minds as Trent crawls. Chuck gets Trent’s legs, to CATAPULT him into the truck’s tailgate!! The crowd fires up while Chuck gets a sinister look on his face. Chuck takes a piece of that drywall to SMASH it on Trent! Chuck gets that trash can, he SMACKS Trent with it! Chuck sees the pile of extra goodies nearby, and he uncovers some light tubes! But first, he’ll clean up the mess, he SMACKS Trent with the dust pan! And SMACKS him again and again! And then one more shot with the trash can! Trent writhes, but Chuck drags Trent up. Chuck SMACKS Trent off the tailgate, then clears some space.

Chuck climbs up, but Trent ROCKET LAUNCHES him onto the light tubes!!! The tubes shatter under Chuck’s back! Trent sputters, he’s bloody now, too. Trent puts Chuck against the car hood and stands on him! Trent soaks up the heat, but Chuck TRIPS Trent! Trent writhes, Chuck reels Trent in, Canadian Rack, RAZOR’S EDGE onto a windshield!! Trent writhes while fans chant “HOLY CHUCK!” Chuck covers Trent on the hood, TWO!! Trent survives and hurries around the back of this sedan. Chuck snarls, goes up after Trent, and they meet on the roof. They’re both so bloody as they fire forearms back and forth!

The crowd cheers Chuck and boos Trent, and as the two swing wild, they end up HUGGING! You GOT to give the people what they want, right? They stand, Chuck ROCKS Trent and reels Trent in, but Trent LOW BLOWS!! Trent has Chuck now, PILEDRIVER ON THE CAR ROOF!!! And then, SNAKE BITE!! Trent is choking Chuck out!!! Chuck IS out, Trent wins!!

Winner: Trent Beretta, by submission

The Best Friends tore each other apart, but it is #JustTrent that stands tall in the end. He’s clearly lost the respect of his peers given how the other wrestlers are chanting “You Suck! You Suck!” But wait, Trent isn’t done? He has a monkey wrench!? Cassidy & Kris step forward to say no, this is going too far! Trent says this is all Cassidy’s fault! And SMASH, Trent hits Chuck’s leg with the wrench, and even shatters the glass behind it!! Chuck clutches the already recovering leg, and now Cassidy wants after Trent! Kris stops Cassidy, Trent’s still got the wrench! Trent escapes into the shadows of the arena, what darkness is living in Trent’s heart?

Don Callis is watching this.

And he seems to like the sadistic savagery he just witnessed. Trent may not have Best Friends anymore, but could he end up with a whole new family?

Backstage interview with Kyle O’Reilly.

It seems nothing was settled here, will these two look to go Double or Nothing?

Backstage interview with The Undisputed Kingdom.

Arkady Aura is with Roderick Strong, Matt Taven & Mike Bennett as she notes Will Ospreay is the NEW #1 Contender to the AEW International Championship. Taven says hold on, before we get started here, “Not Lexy,” as three guys who care deeply about neck health, and as two guys who nursed someone from the brink of paralysis (aka Roddy), The Kingdom wishes a very speedy recovery to “the world’s greatest boss. TK, stay strong, buddy.” Roddy then shouts that “WILL… Ospreay. Congratulations, you did it! You have signed, sealed and delivered the downfall, demise and destruction of The Aerial Assassin at Double or Nothing.”

Roddy says the world can sing Ospreay’s praises, but none of that matters when you step in the ring with Roddy. Just like all the ones before, Roddy will dismantle Ospreay, he will BREAK Ospreay, and he will make Ospreay fall in front of The Savior of the Backbreaker. Roddy’s confidence is strong, but will Roddy be the one feeling the End of Heartache after taking on the #BillyGOAT?

“Big Bill” Morrissey VS Trevor Blackwell!

The human skyscraper says he wants to sit under the Learning Tree, but Chris Jericho’s gonna need a bigger tree if he’s to give guidance to Big Bill. Will Bill prove he is worthy of The Wizard’s sage advice?

Bill then tells Jericho to watch him! Scoop and BIG BOSS SLAM!! Cover, but Bill lets off! Bill wags his finger, he wants Jericho to see more.

Bill brings Trevor up, reels him in, and short arm LARIATS! Cover, but again Bill lets off! Bill is having too much fun at poor Trevor’s expect. Bill says Jericho’s gonna wanna teach him. Bill hoists Trevor up for the SKYSCRAPER CHOKE SLAM!! One foot cover, a very Jericho move, and Bill wins!

Winner: “Big Bill” Morrissey, by pinfall

Trev might want to change his last name to Well-done, because he got roasted. Bill wants Jericho’s guidance, does he even need it when he can do all this?

The Wrestler said during Collision earlier tonight that he was going to take on Shane Taylor Promotions by himself if he had to, but then the Dragonslayer offered his help. Will this momentum help Shibata avenge Hook and take that FTW Championship off of Chris Jericho? Or will The Learning Tree have some things to teach Shibata?

My Thoughts:

A great Rampage here, though I was oddly more excited when I thought it was just Deonna VS Rosa and the Parking Lot Brawl. But even so, at least Bill squashing a dude was used in story. He was showing off, he’ll surely have Jericho’s blessing if he helps defeat Shibata on Dynamite, but a part of me almost wants this to be all a trap. Bill was teammates with Ricky Starks in a feud against Jericho, and if Jericho is being obliviously arrogant then maybe Bill is using that against Jericho, too. But either way, let’s just hope this story helps Bill get going rather than slow him down like the #JerichoVortex has always done.

The Parking Lot Brawl was moving maybe a bit fast for me, especially with how there were some obvious spots already set up when they arrived, such as the drywall draped across the truck bed. But they surely got bloody, and in the end, Trent won out because he was willing to sink to the lowest low. And then they’ve written Chuck off again with that monkey wrench to the shin, so Cassidy VS Trent is definitely a Double or Nothing match. And something is just telling me that if Kris is gonna turn out to be the villain in the Willow Nightingale story, she’s probably gonna screw Cassidy over to help Trent, too.

Really good match from Deonna VS Rosa, and with Rosa getting a quick pin then that brawl, we’re clearly getting more out of them. Good promo from Kyle O’Reilly to hype AEW’s newest Canada tour, and good promo from The Kingdom to tie in their old Neck Health Awareness gag to the Tony Khan piledriver angle. Roddy calling out Ospreay, I would definitely think Ospreay wins the title at Double or Nothing. And really good tag main event from Shibata & Garcia VS Shane Taylor Promotions. STP keeps getting great showings even in losing, but Lee took the loss here to keep Shane himself strong. Great win for Shibata but this just adds to the go-home math where Jericho retains the FTW Championship on Dynamite.

My Score: 8.7/10

Mitchell’s AEW Collision Results & Report! (4/27/24)

It’s a slam dunk!

Published

on

Guns up for all the Jacksonville Gold Members!

Another three hour block of All Elite Wrestling starts with a Collision! But will the Bang Bang Gang still be the best three man unit ever? Or will Top Flight go from the coldest to the goldest trio in the game?

OFFICIAL RESULTS

  • Unified AEW & ROH World Trios Championships: Bullet Club Gold VS Top Flight; Bullet Club Gold wins and retains the titles.
  • Rey Fenix w/ Alex Abrahantes VS The Beast Mortos; Fenix wins.
  • Rush VS Martin Stone; Rush wins.
  • Toni Storm w/ Mariah May & Luther VS Anna Jay; Storm wins.
  • The Acclaimed VS Grizzled Young Veterans; The Acclaimed win.
  • AEW World Championship: Swerve Strickland w/ Prince Nana VS Claudio Castagnoli; Swerve wins and retains the title.

PLAY BY PLAY

Swerve Strickland is here!

Prince Nana again leads the way as the NEW AEW World Champion makes his way out here. The Realest opened Dynamite with a win, but he walks back out to Daily’s Place to stand in the ring to finally acknowledge his victory at Dynasty. Nana says, “Ladies and gentlemen, the man standing in front of you today is the Boss of Bosses! The man standing in front of you today is the Anointed One in Professional Wrestling! The man standing in front of you is one hell of a wrestler. And he’s none other than the AEW World Heavyweight Champion, Swerve Strickland!” The fans cheer and chant, “Thank You, Swerve!”

Swerve says what a week we’ve had here in AEW! Let’s run it down: a NEW TBS Champion in Willow Nightingale; by the grace of God, Adam Cole can walk; Adam Copeland got misted in the face by The House of Black; Will Ospreay and Bryan Danielson tore the house down; and then… Jack Perry returned. The fans boo but Swerve says Jack’s back in AEW, and he struck Tony Khan, the founder of AEW, who put his faith in Swerve. On top of that, The EVPs, the Young Bucks are again the AEW World Tag Team Champions, and they hit Tony Khan with the whatever it is driver, and now TK is in a neck brace and who knows when we’ll see him in healthy condition.

Now, Swerve will be the first to tell everyone, he’s done some horrible things. Once, twice, three, four times. But something about four elite athletes beating down a non-fighter in TK, that sounds like a b*tch move to him. The fans echo “B*TCH MOVE!” but Swerve wants to get to business. The most important thing that happened this week is Swerve went into Dynasty and he made history by dethroning Samoa Joe and becoming the NEW AEW World Champion! Now, a pet peeve of his is those going around calling themselves “Best in the World.” But make no mistake, the Best in the World is the one holding this title right here!

Last week, it was Samoa Joe. This week, it’s Swerve, baby. And Swerve got here by fighting, but also by making sacrifices. Swerve says the night he won this title, he went to his daughter. She said, “Dad, I love you, I’m so proud of you. But I feel like I just don’t know you.” That hit Swerve to his core. His relationship with his children is everything. But he’s missed birthdays, holidays, basketball games, dance recitals, Father-Daughter dances, and he can’t make up for lost time. But what he can do is set the example and blaze a trail, to make sure this was all worth it. The fans cheer that!

Swerve continues by saying AEW has set people in front of him and he’s knocked them all down! Kyle Fletcher was just one. Now, how about an Open Challenge for the AEW World Championship? But only to someone who really wants to fight! So how about it, Jacksonville? We’re entering a new era in AEW, the Dynasty Era! And the elite of that era is whose house? “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” But then here comes Claudio Castagnoli! The Swiss Superman is in a suit, not his gear, but he does get in the ring. Claudio circles Swerve, then takes the mic and holds up a finger. The fans still chant, but Claudio says, “You’re on.”

Swerve says see you later tonight then, in whose house? But then Claudio snatches the mic again! “It’s gonna be mine.” The fans are intrigued but Claudio is looking to end Swerve’s Dynasty the same week it started! Will the Swiss Superman bring even more gold to the Blackpool Combat Club?

Tony Khan has a medical update.

He is feeling grateful and blessed that he can still walk, talk and work, as was seen during the NFL Draft with Tony Khan alongside his father, Shahid, in the Jacksonville Jaguars war room. However, the doctors have advised TK not to travel, so he will be monitoring AEW Dynamite in Winnipeg remotely. Will that mean The EVPs will be in control of things in person this Wednesday…?

Unified AEW & ROH World Trios Championships: Bullet Club Gold VS Top Flight!

When it comes to Six Man Tags, the Bang Bang Gang runs this! But while they have six belts for the three of them, will that only weigh them all down against one of the fastest moving and fastest rising teams? Or will Jay White & The Gunns shoot Action, Darius & Dante outta the sky?

The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we see who holds all the trios gold!

Colten soaks up the heat, digs his boot into Darius, but lets off as the ref counts. Tag to White, and he drags Darius up to JAB! And JAB! And CHOP! White brings Darius around to TOSS back out! White then goes out to fetch Darius, the Gunns and Top Flight keeping each other at bay.

White SMACKS Darius off the apron, then the Gunns hop into the crowd to start up a “Too Sweet!” chant. White CHOPS Darius, and now the Gunns start a “One More Time!” chant! White refreshes the ring count first, argues with the ref, and that allows the Gunns to mug Darius! The Gunns get away with that while the ref is busy with White and Dante, but then Darius fires hands on the Gunns! Darius slides into the ring, White anchors him on the outside, and Collision returns to single picture. Darius BOOTS White into railing, hurries for his corner, but The Gunns YANK Dante and Action down! The fans boo but White clamps onto Darius.

White mockingly holds Darius’ hand out to no one, then stands him up to CHOP! White brings Darius around, taunts Action, then CHOPS! White wrenches, but Darius ROCKS White! And ROCKS him again! White CHOPS Darius but Darius PELES! Both men are down, White tags Colten! Colten tags Austin, they get in Darius’ way, then double whip him to the corner. Austin sends Colten in but Darius dodges, Colten hits buckles! Austin runs up, but Darius goes up and over and handsprings to hot tag Action! Action rallies on the Gunns, BLASTS White for good measure, then keeps going! The fans fire up for Action as he whips Austin.

Austin reverses, Action handsprings, DOUBLE BACK ELBOW for the Gunns! Action kips up, then he runs in at Austin! UPPERCUT in the corner! Colten runs in, but is sent into Austin! Action DECKS Austin, goes up and SPLIT-LEG, but rolls through as Austin moves so he can PELE Colten! Then SPANISH FLY for Austin! Cover, TWO! Austin survives but Action rallies the fans. The Martins are sent into railing, but Action WRECKS White & Colten with a dropkick! Action goes up, but Colten distracts the ref! That lets White trip Action up! Action lands on his landing strip, and then White tags in! White says it’s done, he drags Action down, but Dante flies in! White catches Dante for an URENAGE! Darius runs up, arm-drags free of the Urenage, but turns around into a 3:10 TO YUMA! White goes back for Action, SNAL SLEEPER SUPLEX, but Action lands through!

Action BOOTS White, SUPERKICKS, then goes from a corner to SHOTGUN! White hits buckles, ends up in a drop zone, and Action goes to the apron! Action springboards, White gets away! Action ducks ‘n’ dodges but handsprings into BLADERUNNER!! Cover, BCG wins!

Winners: Bullet Club Gold, by pinfall (still Unified World Trios Champions)

The six shooter still had one in the chamber, and that’s the first defense for the Bang Bang Gang! Will they continue to prove they’re the best three man team in the game today?

The House of Black speaks.

Brody King says they told Adam Copeland what was coming, and the match at Dynasty went exactly how they said. And what’s interesting is, Brody now has two wins over the TNT Champion. They remind Adam of his own #CopeOpen, and The House accepts. But who knows? It might be Brody, it might be Malakai, it might be Buddy. On May 1st in Winnipeg, Edge finds out when the world finds out.

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy.

Arkady Aura says Freshly Squeezed was attacked by #JustTrent last Dynamite, and that ultimately forced Chuck Taylor’s hand in choosing sides. The Kentucky Gentleman chose Cassidy, where is his head at right now? Cassidy knows Trent said a lot of things that Cassidy is still working through. But what is on his mind most now is that later tonight on Rampage, those two are fighting in a Parking Lot Brawl. Cassidy is afraid of what Trent and Chuck are going to do to each other. Kris Statlander walks in and tells Cassidy that “he needs us. Let’s go.” Cassidy nods and leaves with the Galaxy’s Greatest. Will Chuck’s real friends be there for him, win or lose?

Backstage interview with Serena Deeb.

Arkady Aura is now with The Professor of Professional Wrestling, and says that Deeb came out to touch the AEW Women’s World Championship. What message is Deeb looking to send? Deeb says it’s a very simple one. On one hand, we have the great champion, Toni Storm, someone everyone loves, and one of the greatest champions in this company’s history. On the other, we have the undefeated Professor, the obvious #1 contender. After everything Deeb’s been through, how hard she had to fight to get back here, failure is not an option. It is now or never!

And after four years of being told how great she is, and how she SHOULD be champion, it is time to prove it. It is time to accomplish something she has yet to do, and that is become THE AEW Women’s World Champion. Deeb tells Storm this isn’t a movie, this is real-life. And as such, will Deeb bring Storm crashing down to reality?

Winner: Swerve Strickland, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)

It was a shootout ’til the end, and in the end, Swerve had more ammo in his arsenal! But he still shows Claudio respect by offering a handshake. Claudio stands, and he shakes Swerve’s hand. The Realest is rolling on, but who will look to go Double or Nothing with him in just one month’s time?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision, even with it having to be slightly delayed by NBA Playoffs. There was criticism out there that Swerve didn’t get a chance to talk on Dynamite, but he still had a really good promo to open Collision, and it worked better that he’d be able to reference the attack on Tony Khan from Dynamite. Swerve subtly calls out a lot of wrestlers within AEW, and technically some outside of AEW, by saying he doesn’t like people just calling themselves “Best in the World.” He and Claudio had an awesome main event match, though maybe a false finish too many. Swerve of course retained, and can’t wait to see who a now EVP dominated AEW chooses as Swerve’s opponent. It would be hilariously corrupt of The Bucks to make it Jack Perry.

Great Six Man title match tonight, solid first defense for Bang Bang Gang. Great tag match from Acclaimed with Grizzled Young Veterans, but it makes sense Acclaimed would win as the AEW home team. I’m just not sure where Acclaimed go from here other than Billy Gunn saying they can return to the tag division and challenge The Bucks. After all, FTR got pretty banged up in the ladder match and it’d be a bit soon for them to get a rematch against The Bucks. Swerve could team up with The Acclaimed if they’re all going to target The Elite, and vice-versa, going towards Double or Nothing.

Great return matches for Rey Fenix and Rush, but I didn’t think Rush would just do a squash match. Fenix, Pac and Penta all being healthy at the same time, Death Triangle going for the trios titles? Lucha Bros going for tag titles? And I’m really hoping LFI truly gets going here in AEW, also going for the trios titles or something like that. Really good promo from Cassidy with Kris and then Cassidy with Chuck to hype up the Parking Lot Brawl, that thing is gonna kick off Rampage and be wild stuff. Good promo from House of Black to call out Edge, but you can bet this won’t be the only time they go for the TNT Championship. Edge will surely beat Buddy or Brody, and then it’s Malakai challenging at Double or Nothing.

Good promo from Shibata and Garcia to set up a tag match for Rampage, that’ll be great stuff. Good interview promo for Deeb, though it doesn’t add all that much from everything else she’s said to this point. Storm VS Anna was a very good match, and of course Storm won. No Mina showing up was a little surprising, but there’s plenty of time to build the mentor love triangle. Deeb VS Storm will be great stuff, and depending on how they play this, there’s half a chance Deeb wins because Storm will end up preoccupied with Mina and Mariah being so close. Deeb can take the title and face Deonna, Rosa, and a number of others while Storm and Mina fight over Mariah quite literally.

My Score: 8.8/10
