Jey Uso heads to the ring!

The last week hasn’t gone well for #MainEventJey, from losing to Daniel Bryan going into Survivor Series, to being part of the swept team at Survivor Series. But after Survivor Series, we are talking about the #FinalFarewell to The Undertaker, when we should talk about the man who represented when he went toe-to-toe with Drew McIntyre! McIntyre ain’t no pushover, having beaten Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar. But he didn’t beat Jey’s cousin! Drew will always be Number 2, but this man is Number 1! #BestoftheBest, Jey’s cousin- Roman Reigns makes his entrance to cut Jey off. Roman and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring and Jey is all smiles.

Once the #HeadoftheTable and the Special Counsel join Jey between the ropes, Jey claps but the fans on the ThunderDome screens give thumbs down. Jey hands the mic to Heyman, who then hands it to Roman, and Roman says, “Play it.” The footage plays from Sunday, after Team SmackDown lost. Roman says the team lost because they didn’t respect Jey, and they didn’t respect Roman. “If you can’t make them respect you, you have no place in the family.” But of course, Jey had his part to play in helping his Tribal Chief beat the Scottish Warrior in the epic Universal VS World Champion main event. At the time, Roman accepted Jey. But now…?

Back in the present, Roman asks Jey what he was told after the Survivor Series 5v5. Jey was told to leave, but he didn’t. Did Roman say he needed help with Drew? No, he didn’t. So Roman asks Jey now, “Why do you think you, and my team, Team SmackDown, lost at Survivor Series?” Jey says they didn’t want to listen. Why does he think that is? Because they don’t fear Jey. They don’t fear him because they don’t respect him. And like Roman said before, if they don’t respect Jey, they don’t respect the family. And if they don’t respect the family, then who are they?

“If I’m not the Head of the Table, then you must think I’m some wannabe b*tch in the locker room, begging for leftovers.” If that’s who Roman is, then who is Jey? How does the rest of the family look at Jey? Is that how Jey looks at Roman? Is that who Roman is to Jey? Someone begging? Is that how Jey feels about Roman? Because that’s how Jey’s failures make Roman feel. And Roman doesn’t like that feeling. Roman drops the mic and heads off, having heaped everything on to Jey. What will Jey do to get rid of those feelings?

Otis VS King Corbin!

The Blue Collar Solid and the Wolf King were part of that Survivor Series team that lost. But before these two can have out their issues, Jey ATTACKS OTIS WITH A CHAIR! Jey is going to make Otis fear him! CHAIR SHOT after CHAIR SHOT to Otis! Jey is not showing mercy! He digs the chair into Otis’ chest then rains down fists! “You wanna get this damn work, I’mma get you!” ANOTHER chair shot! And another! Referees finally rush out to stop Jey, but Jey is clearly far from through! What happens after SmackDown goes to break?

Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler VS The Street Profits!

The Glorious Show-Offs mock Otis, “He finally waked up from that Thanksgiving nap to be knocked into a long winter’s sleep.” Roode says Ziggler should take it easy on Otis. He’s got a lot on his plate. Like at Thanksgiving! But no more wasting time with dumb jokes. These two are aces, two true pros, two “dirty dogs” that have laser focus on The Street Profits! “Cuz guess what, fam? DZ and Roode are up!” “And we, want the SmackDown Tag Team Championships!” But Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins show up. They don’t like the parody, but they’re alright. They have a lot to be thankful for. Like facing the #BestoftheBest, the NEW~ DAY~! The Profits took the torch, but the Power of Positivity is forever.

They’re also thankful for being against Robert Roode and… HBK? No that’s not him. It has to be! Look how he dresses! And his dangerous superkick! No that’s Dolph. He’s just a big fan of HBK. But Dawkins ins fortunate to be compared to the less fortunate, like Roode. Roode can only grow facial hair in one spot. But he’s got two 007’s right here. But the Profits are up, and they want the smoke! Will the SmackDown Tag Team Champions keep rolling from defeating the 10-time W, W, E, World, Tag, Team CHAMPIONS~ at Survivor Series?

The teams sort out and Ziggler starts with Dawks. They circle, approach, and Dawkins avoids a leg shoot to get a headlock. Tag to Ford, the Profits whip and dropkick Ziggler down! Roode jumps in but Ford doges, Dawkins ROCKS Roode! Ford and Dawkins double whip to DOUBLE FLAPJACK! Dawkins clotheslines Roode out but Ziggler clotheslines Dawkins! Ziggler builds speed but runs into a RIGHT! Dawkins hurries in, tags Ford back in and Ford goes up top already! But Roode yanks Dawkins down and anchors Ford. Ford boots Roode, leaps, but FLOPS! And that stomach still hurts from what the New Day did to him all match! The champs are in trouble as SmackDown goes to break!

SmackDown returns and Ford fights up out of a chinlock, but Ziggler dropkicks him in the stomach! Tag to Roode, Roode whips Ziggler in for a splash! Then they feed Ford to a backbreaker! Cover, TWO! Roode stomps the stomach, adding on to what New Day did. Roode gets Ford into a low cobra twist and clamps onto the abs! Ford endures as Roode digs an elbow in to the ribs. Fans rally up on their screens, Ford fights up to hip toss free! Both men are down and crawling for their corners. Ziggler tags in and he hits a FAMOUSER! Cover, Dawkins breaks it! The ref gets Dawkins back and Ziggler gets away with clawing Ford’s eyes!

Ziggler has Ford in the corner, talks some trash, and then dares Ford to do something. Ford counter punches! Ford fights out, ROCKS Ziggler and elbows Roode. But Ziggler kicks low and down goes Ford! Ziggler puts Ford in a corner hard, then runs in, but misses the splash! Ziggler is stuck, Ford crawls for his corner! Ziggler tags Roode, Ford tags Dawkins! Dawkins rallies on Roode and hits a flying back elbow! FLAPJACK for Ziggler! EXPLODER for Roode! CYCLONE SPLASH on Roode, one on Ziggler! Then a BULLDOG for Roode! Ziggler swings into the butterfly ANARCHY! Roode boots back, runs in, but into the ANOINTING!

Ford tags in and goes back up! FROM THE HEAVENS!! It hits this time, but the ribs! Cover, Ziggler breaks it! Dawkins goes after Ziggler but Ziggler SUPERKICKS! Ford blocks a kick, spins Ziggler and enziguris! Roode rolls Ford up, holds TIGHTS, Roode and Ziggler win!!

Winners: Robert Roode & Dolph Ziggler, by pinfall

Ford is shocked but that was a GLORIOUS way to cheat! Will Roode-Dolph get themselves golden gifts for the holidays?

Backstage interview with Daniel Bryan.

In a few moments, he can be one step closer to making his plans for the Intercontinental Championship a reality. So what is his strategy for Sami Zayn? Acceptance and Zen. Bryan was made to accept Jey is more vicious than ever before. Bryan has to accept that Sami is delusional. Sami sees himself as a master strategist! Perhaps the best champion ever! But it’s all delusion. What Sami does is exploit loopholes and escape. So tonight, Bryan breaks the delusions. There’s this other delusion that everyone is out to get Sami. Bryan isn’t after Sami. He’s after the title. And when Bryan beats Sami tonight, he’ll get that much closer to the title.

Backstage interview with the Mysterio Family and Buddy Muprhy.

A turbulent few months for everyone here, but do they believe this story with Seth Rollins is over? To be part of an amazing family, all together here, Rey says what Rollins did can’t be paid back in full. The Mysterios are thankful for many things, especially right now. Dominik’s career has kicked off, Aalyah is a mature, confident woman, and now we’re thankful that Murphy realized Rollins was garbage. Murphy is no one’s mindless disciple.

But then Baron Corbin comes in and doesn’t believe this “joke.” Rey is a joke, too. Because he couldn’t pass his talent on to his boy. But he did pass on his bad judgment in character. Do they think Murphy will be here next year? Or is he riding the coattails of the Mysterio name while it’s still worth something? Murphy keeps his cool as Corbin walks off, but will this heat up soon enough?

SmackDown says #ThankYouTaker

The tribute highlight reel plays again, documenting the 30 years, from 11/22/1990 to 11/22/2020 at Survivor Series and the #FinalFarewell. There will never be another.

Sami Zayn VS Daniel Bryan!

The “Champion of All People” couldn’t back up his talk when he was up against the Rocky Mountain Machine, Bobby Lashley. Sure, the Hurt Business was ringside, but that was to make sure his “master strategies” were foiled at every turn. Will Sami rebound and show why he is the WWE Intercontinental Championship? Or is the YES Movement about to earn a title shot the old fashioned way?

SmackDown returns and Sami says “One day after a national American holiday, I’m supposed to fight?” Sami doesn’t care for Thanksgiving because it celebrates “the atrocities” committed against Native Americans, by being gluttonous with factory-farmed turkey! Not for this champion! The only person that should be thankful is Daniel Bryan! After months of scheming, he gets the match he wants. After undermining Sami’s reign, with “I would do this, I would do that,” Bryan had his chance at WrestleMania! Bryan didn’t win, Sami did! Bryan did nothing yet WWE Management rolls out the red carpet for him, because they’re sticking it to Sami! They’re sabotaging Sami! But Bryan makes his entrance to shut Sami up. The bell rings, and this WrestleMania rematch, as Sami pointed out, begins!

Sami and Bryan circle, tie up but break. Sami stays in a corner but Bryan waits for Sami to return. They circle again, tie up again, and Bryan drags Sami down to wrench to a wristlock. Bryan wrangles Sami down and STOMPS the arm! Sami scrambles to ropes and checks his arm. Bryan waits as Sami complains about standing on hair. They tie up again, Bryan headlocks, wrenches and YANKS the arm, then wrenches again. Sami powers out, drops but Bryan runs him over! Sami goes to the apron again and Bryan is a little annoyed. Bryan smirks as Sami shakes out his arms before coming back.

Bryan and Sami circle, approach, tie up, and Bryan rolls to wrench and then trip Sami to get the legs. Bryan ties the legs up, knees Sami in the back, then adds an arm to it. Sami endures the mounted hammerlock, and Bryan adds torque on it. Sami fights up, throws elbows and is free. Sami runs, but Bryan drops to then dropkick Sami down! Cover, TWO! Bryan is right back on that arm to wrench and whip. Sami kicks back, throws Bryan out of the ring hard, then takes a moment to catch his breath. Sami wants the count out but Bryan is up at 5. Bryan watches Sami closely as he gets in, but Sami still stomps him down! Sami stands on Bryan until the ref counts, then he drags Bryan up.

Sami throws Bryan out again but follows this time. He throws Bryan into barriers, then into the ring, then climbs up top. Bryan sees Sami and trips him up! Bryan climbs to join Sami now, brings Sami up, but Sami fights back. Sami headbutts Bryan away, adjusts, but Bryan returns to dropkick Sami to the floor! Bryan then climbs up and aims, for a FLYING CROSSBODY, into barriers! Sami turns Bryan’s momentum against him quite literally, and SmackDown goes to break!

SmackDown returns again, and Sami has Bryan down in a chinlock. Bryan fights up as fans rally, but Sami puts Bryan in a corner. The ref counts, Sami throws body shots and haymakers! The ref counts again, Sami lets off at 4. Bryan staggers up but Sami whips him to ropes, to then clobber him with a clothesline! Cover, TWO! Cover again, TWO! Another, TWO! Sami grows annoyed with the count but he stalks Bryan to a corner. Sami throws more hands, taunts Bryan and then whips him corner to corner. Bryan goes up and over, keeps moving, dodges Sami and hits a leaping lariat! Both men are down but fans rally on their screens.

Bryan goes to one corner, Sami goes to another, and Bryan runs in to dropkick! Bryan throws fast hands of his own and adds kicks! Bryan puts Sami up top, climbs up to join him, and hits a SUPER STEINER! Cover, TWO! Sami survives but Bryan keeps his cool. Bryan goes back to Sami and wrenches the arm to an elbow breaker! Then he KICKS! Wrench, ELBOW BREAKER, and KICK! Sami falls to his knees but he gets away from the buzzsaw! Sami goes to the apron, Bryan goes out after him, to wrench, but Sami rakes eyes! Sami POSTS Bryan, then brings him back for an APRON BRAIN BUSTER!! Bryan slumps to the floor but Sami’s down, too!

A ring count starts and both men stir. Sami is standing at 5 and in, but Bryan gets up at 7. Bryan flounders at 8, stands at 9 and is in! Sami drags Bryan up and to the BLUE THUNDER BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Bryan survives and Sami is beside himself. Sami thinks on what to do, and he stalks Bryan. Sami talks trash as he kicks Bryan. This is what he wanted, right? “You’re not better than me!” Sami pulls Bryan’s hair and reels him in, but Bryan slips out of the back suplex to get an ARMBAR TAKEDOWN! Sami clasps hands, Bryan turns him around, to the YES LOCK! Sami is caught and Bryan cranks back! Bryan adds clubbing forearms, but Sami scoots around! ROPEBREAK!

Bryan lets Sami go and Sami bails out of the ring. Sami goes around the way, Bryan builds speed and DIVES! Direct hit and Sami hits announce desk! Bryan puts Sami back in the ring, but Sami gets right back out. So Bryan DIVES again! Direct hit to the ramp! Bryan chases Sami up the ramp, to the stage, but Sami throws haymakers! The ring count is climbing and Sami is retreating! Bryan pursues, but the count- Wait, Sami returns! The count is ten, Sami wins!!

Winner: Sami Zayn, by count-out

The Intercontinental Champion outsmarted Bryan, but that’s not the only reason Bryan got lost backstage! JEY USO is attacking him!! Kevin Owens rushes over to save Bryan, but then Jey gets after him, too! The refs get in to stop this but Jey tells Kevin, “You know where I’ll be!” Kevin wants the refs to watch Bryan, because he’s going after Jey! Will Kevin make sure to KO Uso?

SmackDown returns as Jey talks with Roman.

“I’m doing what you said to do, Uce.” Jey is making them fear and respect him. But Kevin comes by and says he’s had it with the family issues affecting SmackDown. If Roman wants to go on an ego trip, fine. But he’s getting in Jey’s head. Roman says family’s so important, but Roman sure treats his like trash. Roman tells Jey that he needs to take pride in how his sons look at him. Kevin does not look at them with fear. “Fix that.”

Natalya VS Bianca Belair!

The Queen of Harts, the #BOAT, Best of All Time, may be the winningest woman in the WWE, but she’s about to face the EST. Will Bianca show Natty just how she’s the roughest, the toughest, the quickest, the strongest, and the new best woman on SmackDown?

But first, the longest reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion (former) is here! Bayley comes out to see her former teammates do battle, from commentary! The bell rings and Natty ties right up with Bianca. Natty headlocks., Bianca powers out and things speed up. Bianca hurdles, hurdles and wheelbarrows Natty, but Natty rolls through. ONE, Bianca has the cover, ONE! Bianca whips Natty corner to corner but Natty reverses. Bianca goes up an dover and handsprings, but Natty moves and Bianca POSTS herself! Natty throws furious forearms but lets off, to then stomp away! The ref counts, Natty backs off, and she pushes Bianca back into the corner!

Bianca pushes Natty away, Natty comes back to snap suplex, and then kicks Bianca! Natty drags Bianca up, Bianca blocks the suplex to cradle, TWO! Bianca stands, but the DISCUS takes her down! Cover, TWO! Natty grows frustrated as she drags Bianca around to stomp the legs. Natty gets the legs, then the arms, for the surfboard! Bianca endures the Romero Special but Natty gets a cover, TWO! Bianca gets to ropes, Natty brings her around but Bianca shoves her to a corner! Bianca handsprings and RAMS into Natty! And again and again and again! Bianca fires off with fury, then runs, only for Natty to elbow her away!

Natty runs, discus, but Bianca caches her! GlamEST- No, Natty slips out and tumbles to the floor! Bianca pursues, Bayley says this isn’t smart. Or she’ll get counted out again. Bianca claps back but Natty swings. Bianca dodges, Natty stops herself from hitting Bayley, but then she dodges and Bianca definitely hits Bayley! Natty CLUBS Bianca from behind, puts her in the ring, and stalks behind her. Bayley storms in and wants after Bianca, but Bianca boots Natty into her! Roll up, Bianca wins!!

Winner: Bianca Belair, by pinfall

The EST just sank the #BOAT, but she’s also on the Role Model’s radar. Bayley dares Bianca to bring it on, and Bianca claps back again. Will these two throw down to prove who is really headed to the top of SmackDown?

Heyman is found talking with Adam Pearce.

The Special Counsel knows Pearce is in charge around here, but what is it he wants the official to do for him?

Buddy Murphy w/ the Mysterio Family VS King Corbin!

After the Wolf King disrespected la familia, the freed disciple is going to defend their honor! Will Murphy remind us all why he was and still is the Aussie Juggernaut? Or will Corbin make him bend the knee?

SmackDown returns as Corbin makes his entrance. The bell rings and Murphy circles with Corbin. They tie up, Murphy gets around to waistlock but Corbin backs Murphy to the corner. Corbin throws elbows but Dom gets mad. Corbin and the ref tell Dom to stay back, and Murphy headlocks. Corbin powers out, then runs him over with a shoulder. Rey gets on the apron now and the ref tells Rey to stay back now. Murphy dodges Corbin, rolls him up, TWO! Corbin throws hands but Murphy fires off! Corbin dodges the knee to CLOBBER Murphy! Rey still gets on the apron, and then Dom starts stuff, and Corbin gets annoyed.

Corbin drags Murphy up, whips him corner to corner hard, then runs corner to corner, only for Murphy to go up! Corbin slides out but Aalyah is in the way! Corbin is furious with this, but Murphy WRECKS him with a dropkick! Then slingshots, fakes Corbin out and moves to PENALTY KICK! Corbin staggers, Murphy lines up a shot, but leaps into a choke grip! Corbin shoves Murphy but Murphy stops himself, and baits Corbin into steel steps! Murphy goes up top fast, leaps back in, but Corbin gets under! Murphy rolls, dodges, but runs into DEEP SIX! Rey gets in the ring?! Then right out! Corbin is pissed and shouts at Rey but Rey just taunts Corbin back.

Murphy gets up as Dom and Aalyah coach him up. Corbin drags Murphy up to rain down fists. Corbin rains down even more right hands but Dom again gets on the apron. Corbin backs Dom down, goes back to Murphy and drags him up to put him on the ropes. Corbin throws haymakers on Murphy, the ref counts and Corbin lets off. Corbin tells the ref to tell the Mysterios the rules, then eh tosses Murphy to a corner. Corbin runs in but Murphy dodges to send him into buckles! Murphy dodges Corbin, Dom swipes at legs! Murphy KNEE TRIGGERS! Cover, and Dom makes sure there’s no ropebreaks! Murphy wins!

Winner: Buddy Murphy, by pinfall

The family that fights together wins together! But Corbin is furious! He gets a mic then shouts at the Mysterios, “This is outrageous! It wasn’t one-on-one, man to man!” But what would he expect from the Mysterios! They’re spineless cowards! But next week, Corbin wants a rematch with Murphy, and he’ll be “prepared.” What does he mean by that?

BREAKING NEWS!

The reason Heyman was talking with Pearce? Because we’re getting a match of Kevin Owens VS Jey Uso! Will the Prizefighter pay for getting in the Tribal Chief’s face?

SmackDown returns and Big E is playing Apollo Crews in trash can basketball.

Apollo gets ready to make his move, he shoots but it misses! That’s a foul! No, no, that was clean. But Sami Zayn comes over and says he has an interview but the ring is behind them. He is clearly going to talk about his win over the future Hall of Famer, Daniel Bryan. For most people, it takes three seconds to win, Sami beat Bryan for 10. That was how he beat Apollo that way so he should know. Big E keeps Apollo back, Apollo will head out and see Sami later. Big E says Sami has built a rickety house with no foundation. Count outs, loose buckles, vertigo! Not funny, it’s a medical condition.

Big E’s point is that Sami’s margin for error is razor thin. He’s in a house of cards, because all it takes is a gust of wind, and it all comes tumbling down. Sami tells E that he’s disappointed. Sami thought he was different, but no. Big E is diminishing Sami. It’s sour grapes to Sami. Sami is in the middle of a historic reign, and the last time Big E had this belt was… Many, many moons ago, that was largely forgettable. So instead of tearing Sami down, applaud him! Big E says Sami is right. Ten seconds is impressive. They shake hands, but Big E holds on strong, for 10! Sami clutches his hand. Big E is “so proud” of Sami. Kayla asks if Sami still wants the interview but he shouts no! Will Sami’s reign not last much longer the way he’s going?

Billie Kay crashes commentary!

She asks “Mr. Cole” to consider her head shots and resume. If they are unable to find the words to describe what’s happened, Billie has an extensive background in talking. She’ll take it from here if they want. No, thanks, Billie. Will Billie ever find her place in SmackDown?

Carmella speaks.

“You know by now what I’m here to do, what I’ve done. How embarrassing for a SmackDown Women’s Champion to fall so easily.” But she’s glad to see the middle school games are over, because now we’ll all see who the most dominant woman on SmackDown really is. It’s funny how Carmella was where Sasha is now. She had the title, the spotlight, the fans. And then she did things for them. What fans wanted her to do. Catering to their whims. And in losing herself, she lost it all. So believe her when she says she isn’t doing anything for anyone else anymore! She calls the shots! And everyone else jumps for her. She snaps her fingers, but whoever it is is late. Wait, that’s… SASHA! And she splashes Mella with her drink and throws hands on her!

Sasha gets even with Mella and puts on the BANK STATEMENT! Security pulls them apart but Sasha tells Mella to find her face to face, “like a real woman!” Will The Boss remind Mella who is really in charge here?

Kevin Owens VS Jey Uso!

It’s time to #FightOwensFight! Will he show Jey who should really be respected around here?

SmackDown returns as Jey makes his entrance. The bell rings and Roman is watching backstage as Jey and Kevin go right at each other! They tie up, Jey puts Kevin in a corner but Kevin dodges to CHOP and throw haymakers! Kevin CHOPS Jey more, throws more fists, and has Jey on ropes. Kevin whips, Jey holds the ropes and bails out! Jey paces but Kevin goes out to ROCK him with a right! Then throw him into barriers! Kevin puts Jey in, stomps away, then puts Jey in a corner with more haymakers! The ref counts, Kevin lets off and Roman doesn’t look happy. Kevin throws Jey out hard, pursues again, and whips Jey, only for Jey to reverse and send Kevin into steel steps!

Kevin gets up and in the ring but Jey follows. Heyman keeps his eyes on Roman as Roman watches Jey rain down rights on Kevin. Jey double ax handles before he lets off. Jey paces while Kevin gets to ropes. Jey storms over, wraps an arm around the rope and pulls! The ref counts, Kevin claws Jey’s face but Jey YANKS the arm before letting off. Jey stalks Kevin, but Kevin throws hands! Jey rocks Kevin with an uppercut, then throws forearms. Kevin hits back, Jey hits again, Kevin rebounds to LARIAT! BACK SENTON! Both men writhe for different reasons, and Kevin goes after Jey, only for Jey to POST him!

Jey sees Kevin bail out again, and he builds speed, to DIVE! But Kevin catches Jey, trips him up and catapults him into the POST! Jey flounders into a SUPERKICK! Jey flounders more and Kevin SUPERKICKS him over the barriers! Kevin has Jey reeling while SmackDown goes to break!

SmackDown returns once more and Jey is down on the outside, as Kevin APRON CANNONBALLS! Kevin puts Jey back in the ring, covers, TWO! Jey survives and gets to the apron, but Kevin drags him up. Jey hotshots the arm! Kevin staggers away, Jey wrenches and ARM CODE BREAKERS! Kevin writhes but Jey slams the bad arm on the mat! And again! Jey seethes as he drops a knee on the arm! Jey drags Kevin up to go after the arm with a top wristlock. Roman is still stoic as Jey wrenches on the arm. Fans rally, Kevin fights up, but Jey throws Kevin down by his head! Jey glares as Kevin writhes and gets to the corner. Jey says Kevin stuck his nose in the wrong family business. “UCE! OH!” Jey runs corner to corner but Kevin dodges to SUPERKICK!

Both men are down again and fans rally on their screens! Kevin drags himself up with his good arm, dodges to CHOP and CHOP and haymaker on Jey! Kevin can only hit with the good arm, and he whips Jey, for a POP- NO! The arm limits Kevin! SUPERKICK from Jey! Cover, TWO!! Jey keeps his cool as he looks down at Kevin. Jey climbs up top, Kevin gets up to throw a forearm and a CHOP! Kevin climbs up with one good arm but Jey headbutts the bad arm! Jey shoves Kevin, adjusts and leaps, USO SPLASH onto knees! Kevin reels Jey in, pump handles and USHIGOROSHIS! Cover, TWO!?! Jey survives that modified package driver meets neckbreaker, but Kevin keeps his focus!

Kevin aims, kicks and- No, no stunner as Jey shoves Kevin into buckles! And then POSTS Kevin to the other corner! Jey goes out and brings a chair into this! Jey doesn’t care about the win, he wants to hurt Kevin! He SMACKS Kevin in the back!

Winner: Kevin Owens, by disqualification

Jey roars as he SMACKS Kevin again! Heyman smiles, but Roman isn’t showing anything yet. Jey clears off the announce desk as his rage boils over! Jey goes back to Kevin, and- Kevin kicks to STUNNER!! Heyman’s smile fades as Jey flops out of the ring. Kevin goes out, drags Jey up and throws him over the desk! Jey tumbles down, Kevin goes looking and finds a chair for himself! Kevin gives Jey the CHAIR SHOT! And another! “You watching, Roman?!” Kevin’s been watching! CHAIR SHOT for Jey! Where’s Roman?! Where is he for his family!? This is because of Roman! “You want people to fear you? I fear no one!” MORE chair shots for Jey until the chair is bent!! “Including you!”

Kevin tells Roman that if he has a problem, “come say it to my face.” Kevin gets on the desk and shouts, “I’m the head of this table!” Then he drags Jey into the ring, brings him around, and dares Roman to do something. STUNNER! But Roman doesn’t move from where he’s watching. Kevin sits at the “head” of the announce desk, and asks where Roman is. Wherever he is, Kevin will be waiting. Kevin has sent a message to Roman that is loud and clear! But how will the Tribal Chief respond?

My Thoughts:

This was a very good SmackDown to follow Survivor Series and head for TLC. For one, the entire story thread of Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, and Kevin Owens. Jey going after the Face members of Team SmackDown with the whole idea of making them fear and respect him, Roman and the family, was expected, but it was done so expertly! Roman has done incredible character work but so has Jey, and that continued tonight with Kevin in the mix. I also like that Jey included Bryan in the mix given their match just last week. I did not see Kevin being the next challenger for Roman, but it’s actually a great choice. Kevin of course is a master of character work, too, so him battling Roman is going to be a great feud. Bryan and Otis might even get involved because of Jey. Maybe that’s the Six Man Tag we get when/if Jimmy returns and joins up. It could even be reluctantly, because Jimmy is fighting to help Jey, not Roman.

Speaking of Bryan, he had a great match with Sami, even with the count-out finish, because it tied into a story. Sami bragging and then Big E showing him up is clearly the start of an Intercontinental Championship feud. Big E becoming IC Champion again isn’t so bad, but obviously many of us were hoping he’d head for the Universal Championship. Maybe he can do both? Though I was almost hoping for a Big E VS Apollo thing, even if it was just for a match, because that’d just be a great match. The Mysterio family story is taking an interesting turn. I like that Murphy VS Corbin is the lead, but I just don’t know how to feel about the Mysterios helping Murphy win. It’s karma on Corbin but it makes Murphy look weak. But Corbin “being prepared” next week makes me think he’s getting new lackeys, who I really hope are NXT “call-ups” of some kind.

Roode-Dolph VS Profits was a really good match, and naturally the Heels use a quick cheat to get the win. This will naturally set up a title match, but I feel like they’re going to stretch this out towards TLC. That’s fine, gives TLC something big, like perhaps a tag team table or ladder match. Bianca VS Natty with Bayley on commentary was good stuff, and while Bianca VS Bayley could be the main story, I feel like there could be so much more done with The EST VS The #BOAT with the “est” being the focus. Natty says she’s winningest, but Bianca could easily counter that by saying Natty is only that because she’s been around for so long. And of course, Sasha gets back at Carmella and we truly begin on their title match build, which will/should also be for TLC.

My Score: 8.6/10

Slammiversary Fallout! Where do things go on the way to Victory Road?

Published

on

Well now we start the fall out of Slammiversary. Josh Alexander in his bad bitch summer, X-Speedball legacy, ABC got the t-a-g and Jordynne is still in charge of the Knockouts division. Like I said at the end of Slammiversary, all of the champions being Babyfaces is stupid. They need to drop a couple titles fairly quickly, because I don’t care what some people say, Nic Nemeth ain’t gonna bring any eyes to the brand. He’s about as hot as day old Hamburger Helper over a camping sterno.

We’ll probably open with the luke warm champion, so tune in like 10 minutes late for anything of substance to be happen.

Ratings:

  • Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner: Maclin wins via KIA – *
  • AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan: AJ wins via Down Payment – **
  • Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young): Hammer Your ASH wins via Torture Rack – ** 1/2
  • The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey): Broken Alphabet wins via Twist & Splash – ***

Results:

Nemeth gives the ole “I’ll be a fighting champion…blah blah” promo and drops the “any company” line that we’ve already understood what that means. Campaign Singh cuts him off…and I never thought I’d be happy for Campaign Singh to walk out and say anything…ever. And…Mustafa’s promo is worse than Dolph’s. He’s gone from parody to caricature even saying “it was the biggest screw job Montreal ever saw”. Like some of these lines are cheap heat, but most are just brain dead comments that wouldn’t get a reaction out of anyone (and the crowd was silent for that comment). Mustafa gets caught in an Archer “phrasing” moment about getting screwed hard, but this is painful. Promos written by 14 year olds everyone…

This ends with Ali challenging Nemeth for the World Title. While I’m not against walk up challenges, I watch Japanese wrestling, I don’t really get the point aside from doing it just to do it.

ABC and Matt Hardy have a small promo, and I’m still not really a fan of Unbroken Matt Version 6.0. The floating between Broken voice and his normal voice sounds amateurish.

OH LOOK, finally a match 20 minutes into the show. And it’s my son Steve Maclin! OH CHRIST he’s facing Deaner. This has been 25 minutes of talking followed by the worst god damn attempt at a gimmick. Deaner’s little “Papa Santino told me I can wipe my ass only if the crowd agrees”. This gimmick should die in a fire.

Steve Maclin vs Cody Deaner

Deaner started off quick because Maclin was in disbelief that Deaner was actually gonna fight him. Maclin dodges a Crossbody, Busaiku Knee, and just starts beating on Deaner for fun. And this is fun, maybe Maclin can make sure Deaner gets stretchered out and written off forever. How do you call for an ambulance in French? Maclin with the old Back Breaker into a stretch. Deaner tries to nerd rage up, breaks the Back Breaker Stretch, his punch combo, into a Manhattan Drop and Bulldog. Deaner hits the Crossbody, but Maclin kicks out. This is entirely too competitive.

Deaner goes for the Deaner DDT, blocked, Olympic Slam into Splashing Deaner into the corner, Caught in the Crosshairs, K-I-A, thanks for coming you damn dweeb. Stay in Canada and don’t travel Deaner, please.

AJ Francis w/Rich Swann & Josh Bishop vs Sami Callihan

As the bell sounds, Sami knocks Rich off the apron, Low Bridges AJ, does the Beats of the Bodhran on AJ and then AJ eats the offense and strategizes with his crew. Bishop and Rich swarm the ring, Sami allows himself to get distracted so AJ slides in and starts beating on Sami. AJ throats Sami across the middle rope and Rich makes his presence felt, AJ distracts the referee and Rich gets in a lot of cheap shots. Bishop throws Sami back in the ring, and AJ keeps up the pressure. Lots of 5 count chokes and leverage moves. After the commercial break ends, Sami dodges a Tennessee Whiskey Knee, gets in a few shots before Rich trips Sami as he’s setting up a Dive, and then AJ takes advantage of the position and hits the goofball knee strike.

AJ calls for his Chokeslam, Sami tries to break it with Axe Handles, then claws the eyes. Sami goes for a Scoop Slam, gets him part way up and then falls over. AJ Chokeslam again, but he bites his hand and starts fighting back. Launches himself at AJ, sends him bouncing off the ropes and uses the momentum to hit that Scoop Slam that was teased earlier. Sami goes for a Western Lariat but eats a Big Boot. AJ does a little Hulk Hogan pose to signal a Leg Drop, but Sami dodges and then connects on a Sliding Lariat. Thumbs Up, Thumbs….interference. Rich distracts the ref, Bishop lays out Sami, AJ connects with the Down Payment.

Hammer Your ASH (ASH by Elegance & Alexander Hammerstone) vs JuggerYoung (Jordynne Grace & Eric Young)

ASH and Jordynne exchange slaps and then Jordynne starts to out muscle ASH. Spinebuster from Jordynne, Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights off, rope run, Sattelite DDT into both tagging out. EY does the Flair corner flop, slides back in between Hammer’s legs, and connects on a Neckbreaker. EY is the quicker of the two, but Hammer finally gets his hands on him and a Release Belly to Belly into a full mount raining of fists, then a near fall. Hammer smashes EY in a corner, Arm Wringer into an Irish Whip across, but EY moves and Hammer tags out to ASH. ASH levels Jordynne, peppers EY with a few shots and pulls him back to their corner and starts some tandem offense with Hammerman. Hammer Guerilla Presses ASH and throws her into EY for a near fall. Hammer looks to aim for either a Powerbomb or Nightmare Pendulum, but EY drops it into a Small Package, pinfall kick out, they both run, Double Lariat spot. The Knockouts get tagged in.

Jordynne is in control early, World’s Strongest Slam into a Vader Bomb. Juggernaut Driver attempt, but ASH fights it off and tags out to Hammer. Jordynne and EY do some schoolyard stuff with the old Push while Jordynne is down to trip Hammer. All four get in, ASH gets leveled, EY gets leveled, Hammer and Jordynne have a brief face off, but Hammer throws Jordynne to the apron and ASH connects with a Meteora from the apron. Death Valley Driver from Young on Hammer, ASH stares in shock, EY tells her to get, ASH runs away. EY goes up for his Macho Elbow, and ASH causes him to fall to Hammer’s feet, Torture Rack, and EY submits.

Josh Alexander comes out, with new heel music. And it’s not that bad, definitely better than some other people’s new music. Josh yells at the crowd a bit, says he can’t wait til he’s back in a real Canadian town, like his home of Toronto. Then he drops the mic in lieu of an explanation. The crowd chants him off with the “Nah Nah Nah Nah, Hey Hey Hey”.

The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers & JDC) w/Alisha Edwards vs Matt Hardy & The ABC (Ace Austin & Chris Bey)

JDC and Hardy start, but JDC quickly tags out to Myers and that doesn’t go well. Hardy grabs a hold of Myers, a few Delete chops, drags him to his corner and they all get in a few shots punctuated with Hardy getting tagged back in and an Elbow into Myers’ extended and worked on left arm. Myers stays isolated, back into the corner, Boot to the gut, Ace tags in and wallops Myers. Ace connects on Double Kicks, into Russian Leg Sweep and his half of Click Click Boom, for a 2 count. Myers finally gets free with a Jaw Breaker and tags out to Eddie. But The System gets no momentum, Ace stifles Eddie’s offense and starts a few quick tags with him and Bey for tandem offense. Moose finally comes down the ramp as Eddie kicked out of yet another pinfall attempt because The System has had nothing going for them. Eddie finally gets some offense since Moose was a big enough distraction.

Eddie thinks they have a spot, so he tags back in JDC, but The ABC stop him cold, tag in Matt Hardy, and Matt walks down JDC, but JDC Low Bridges. Matt is on the outside, so all of The System surrounds Hardy, then Joe Hendry’s music hits! That stops the heel beatdown, and we follow Hendry’s entire entrance. So that proves Hendry is bigger than the 8 other people in this frame. Not really sure if that’s optics you want to push along. Ace and JDC try to remind people there’s wrestling going on, but JDC thumbs the eye to get a little something going. Vertical Suplex for a near fall, tag out for Eddie and Eddie lights up Ace with some of those NOAH Chops. Ace retreats to the ropes and Alisha chokes him with the ropes while the ref is distracted.

Myers gets tagged in, Ace tries to use the crowd energy, Myers stops it at first but then Ace slips a Scoop Slam and tags out to Bey. Hot tag, strike rush, Double Stomp, educated feet, Leap Frog to the corner but Lish climbs on the apron and yells at Bey which stops his rhythm. Myers kicks his feet out and causes Bey to crash. Eddie tags in for a few shots, then to JDC and Slingshot Knees, Wringer Snapmare, Bow and Arrow Submission, and JDC is just doing solid wrestling work right now. Uppercut between the Shoulder Blades as Bey tries to get out, tag to Myers and Bey is still eating offense. Eddie tags in, Bey tries the Sunset Flip, but Eddie tags out before going over, so Myers folds up Bey for a near fall and then tags out to JDC who connects on a Standing Suplex, slams Bey’s face into the corner, Eddie tags in, and Bey finally fights up to his feet, Eddie just flatten Bey’s comeback, tries a Tiger Driver but eats an Enzuigiri for a simultaneous tag. JDC and Hardy come in, JDC tries to exit halfway in, but Hardy is wrecking shop. He disposes of Eddie, Myers slides in but eats a tandem Neckbreaker/DDT from Hardy. Face team does the Delete Corner Face Smashes. Poetry in Motion into a Side Effect into Corkscrew Swanton for only 2 since Myers breaks it up! Everyone throwing hands, referee is distracted, Moose comes in to Spear Hardy, but Hardy dodges and throws him into JDC (I get the call back), Hendry then lays out Moose with the big Lariat. Twist of Fate from Hardy, Splash from Bey, Broken Alphabet wins!

Overall Score: 4/10

Ugh, cliche promos, too damn much talking, a competitive squash match with an imbecile as our first “match”, into an overbooked and slow heel match, finally a decent tag match (with the right team going over), into another overbooked match with a “tease” for the mystery backup being more obvious than Jericho’s WWF debut.

Aside from the afore mentioned tag match, The Rascalz promo and The System Promo; this was hard to watch. A lot of cornball promos, Rosemary licks her conspiracy board, storylines got zero traction. Whoopity Doo, Ryan Nemeth got a match next week and we get an undead wedding.

While this was a bad episode, it was bad by at least new standards. We’re not back in the TNA Dark Days again, but this was…a useless show.
