The Maniac’s return to Dynamite is a hot one! He still has NJPW’s US title, and he’s going to defend it in the US against the Machine Gun! Will this #ViolentGentleman prove he’s far from done with this reign? Or will the Elite continue to ruin Moxley’s return to open Fyter Fest?
The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if Mox gets payback by proxy!
But before things get going, Eddie Kingston has a pipe and he SMACKS Luke Gallows with it! Moxley puts Anderson in at 15 of 20 and fans fire up as Moxley continues in. Anderson HOTSHOTS Moxley, then runs to SHOTGUN BOOT Moxley down! Moxley bumps off barriers and a new count begins. Winner: Jon Moxley, by pinfall (still IWGP US Champion)
Fans go wild for the wild thing winning and retaining his title! Moxley is now the record holder for this championship in successful title defenses, but will he just be adding to that record again and again?
AEW hears from Lance Archer and Jake the Snake Roberts.
Jake says, “I’ll tell you one thing, one more word from these idiots telling me-” Archer has Jake calm down. This is simple. “Jon, this is so simple it hurts!” Moxley just beat Karl Anderson and kept that IWGP US Championship. But Moxley took that title from Archer over a year and a half ago. January 4th, 2020, in the Tokyo Dome. Archer says Moxley’s win record is impressive: Minoru Suzuki; Kenta; Yuji Nagata. But it’s time for Archer’s rematch! They had a Texas Deathmatch in Japan, so it is only fitting that in Dallas, Texas, next week for Fyter Fest Night 2, they just do it again! Moxley VS Archer, Texas Deathmatch II!
They say you shouldn’t be afraid but Moxley knows better and Archer knows different. One man leaves champion, and the other won’t even be standing. Will the Maniac be up for that insane invitation from the Murderhawk Monster?
Backstage interview with Andrade El Idolo.
Alex Abrahantes notes Andrade’s successful AEW in-ring debut against Matt Sydal. Now, he knows Andrade has spoken with Tony Khan, and has permission to “kick down the forbidden door” and win titles all over the world. So then, Alex wants to know- Andrade stops him there. Alex doesn’t have questions for Andrade. Andrade has a question for him. What is the Death Triangle? He wants the Death Triangle? No, no, but he does want Alex to send them a message. El Idolo is looking for them. Got it? Alex does know Penta El Zero M personally, but what business does El Idolo have with Penta, PAC and even Rey Fenix?
FTW Championship: Brian Cage VS Ricky Starks!
Team Taz’s #AbsoluteMachines could not agree on simple thing: Is Sting still the Icon? One said yes, the other said no, and that simple crack in the team’s bond has become a canyon! Will Cage keep the title entrusted to him by Taz himself? Or will this absolutely tear the team apart?
Will Hobbs and Hook are ringside, Taz is on commentary, but it isn’t clear whose side they’re one. The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who is the badder badass in the stable!
Starks and Cage circle, fans fire up and Starks rushes in! Cage dodges, fires off hands and whips, but Starks ducks, hurdles, only to run into a hip toss! Cage survives and shocks everyone! “This is Awesome!” as Starks grabs for the FTW belt! But Hobbs stops him?! That shocks Starks most of all!
Cage is up, he scoops Starks, and F5!! Cover, TWO?!?! How did Starks survive?! Cage says he’s gonna finish this, and Starks gets up. Hook distracts the ref! Starks dodges Cage’s discus, and Hobbs CLOCKS him with the belt?!? Starks SPEARS Cage!! Cover, Starks wins!!!
Winner: Ricky Starks, by pinfall (NEW FTW Champion)
Powerhouse Hobbs tricked Cage into thinking he was keeping this clean! Taz embraces his new champion, and this must mean Cage is OUT! Will the Machine come back to get revenge on those he thought were his friends?
Cody Rhodes storms out to commentary.
He gets a headset and calls out formerly known as Tommy End, now Malakai Black. “A phone call would’ve sufficed! Absolutely would’ve sufficed! You’ve got the size, stature, real kickboxing experience and chip on your shoulder that would’ve been great here. I understand wanting to be a franchise player by beating a franchise player, but here’s what we don’t do! We don’t kick a 62-year-old man in the face where he can’t get up! That’s what we don’t do!” Cody isn’t sure he’s getting his point across, he needs a live mic! Cody gets off commentary to get the mic and go to the ramp. Fans cheer as he says he’s feeling boisterous tonight.
Cody knows he doesn’t win every fight he’s in, but he sure as hell has a better of chance when he knows it’s coming! And this might be an abuse of power, but Cody hopes Tommy/Malakai answers this call! This is FYTER FEST, so he feels like fighting! But Malakai answers via titantron. “I applause you standing up for yourself, Cody. Those fans last week? They didn’t. Did you hear them when I kicked you and Arn in the face? Did you hear them cheer? You know why? Because they’re violent, Cody. They don’t care about you as much as you care about them.”
Malakai says he once saw a man kill a horse. He walked up to the man and asked him why. With a tremble in his voice and tears down his face, the man said that this was his prized stallion, the one that took him all over the world and won him titles. One day, the man woke up and the stallion wasn’t the same as he had since he was young. The wear and tear of competition made the horse crippled. The man knew the one thing he could do was have the horse die with dignity. The man took the horse out to its favorite pasture, fed the horse its favorite treats, and then put a bag over its head before, well… And so here we are, Cody.
When Malakai looked at Cody and Arn in the eyes, “it just wasn’t there anymore, Cody.” Oh it wasn’t there? Then how about coming here and taking a better look!? Malakai was hoping Cody would say that. The lights go out, and when they come back up… Malakai is in the ring!! Cody goes after him and they brawl! Fans are losing their minds but referees and security rush out to stop this! Fans want to “Let Them Fight!” but Malakai laughs as Cody is shouting at him. Malakai says he’s in Cody’s head, but when will these two get to be in the ring and have it out?
Backstage interview with Tully Blanchard.
Alex Marvez congratulates him on The Pinnacle’s big win last week, but notes how he took a cheap shot on Konnan after the match. Tully says that wasn’t cheap, but then Santana and Ortiz find him and laugh. Santana says Tully’s got the biggest target on his back now. And Tully decided to be a smartass and walked the halls alone. Ortiz says this is awful. PNP grab Tully, and dare him to have that same energy. Santana has a crowbar! Santana reels back, but doesn’t smack Tully, just pokes him. It was a fake crowbar, but next time it won’t be. They were taught to respect their elders. PNP spare Tully and tell him to get his boys. Tully promises he will, and they can just wait for it! Is this far from over between The Pinnacle’s FTR and the Inner Circle’s Proud ‘n’ Powerful?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
Schiavone says here in Texas for Fyter Fest night one, we’ve heard a lot of talk about the world champion. But we’re going to hear from a man who’s taking the fight to the Elite, it’s Hangman Adam Page! Hangman is here and Texas fires up! Hangman goes to the ring, and Schiavone wants to talk about the AEW World Champion, Kenny Omega. They were face to face last week, this is definitely one the fans want to see. Hangman says that since literally day one, Hangman said he wanted to be AEW World Champion. He came so close that he could smell it, feel it on his fingertips, but then he failed.
Hangman tried to run from it, hide from it, but the Dark Order is ride, Hangman still needs that title! So Hangman is here tonight to challenge for- “Oh no you’re not here to do anything!” Don Callis bellows as he walks out with Gallows, the Young Bucks, Brandon Cutler filming it all, and taking his time waving at the fans, Kenny Omega. Hangman isn’t doing anything but talking. And Callis believes they’re here in Texas, so that means all hat and no cattle. Hangman looks in the mirror and knows he’s not that guy! Nick says Hangman isn’t that guy. Gallows agrees, Hangman is not that guy! #CowboyDOWN. Matt says he’ll say something right to Hangman’s face.
Matt struts to the ring in his strange looking romp-him, and asks if Hangman remembers The Elite. They were his best friends that he abandoned! It still blows Matt’s mind that Hangman ditched them for a bunch of losers! And P-U, from the smell on Hangman’s breath, he’s still hitting the bottle. And that fits the narrative perfectly, right? “The sad, lonely drunk cowboy, all by himself in the end!” And the only one to blame for that is Hangman himself! Because let’s face it: Hangman’s the next great wrestling tragedy! Yeah, how does that make Hangman feel? He doesn’t have the balls to hit Matt! But then Hangman DECKS him!
Hangman DECKS Nick, DECKS Brandon Cutler, but Kenny Omega, manbun and all, slithers in behind Hangman, belt at the ready! But the DARK ORDER rushes out to run the Elite off! The “losers” are loyal to their friend and Hangman gets the mic back. “Listen, Kenny. I came here tonight for a match, and I’m not leaving without one. And quite frankly, neither are you!” Omega gets a mic and says, “Hey guys, listen! Adam Page wants a match!” Omega says they can do that. Because from the look in Hangman’s eyes, he wants Omega all to himself. Omega will do Hangman one better.
Hangman gets Omega, but why not cue up the goon squad, as well! Hangman’s guys against Omega and The Elite! FIVE ON FIVE, ELIMINATION STYLE!! Hangman laughs but says that’s not the match Hangman wants. If that’s what they have to do to get it, then that’s what they do! And WHEN Hangman’s team wins, not only does he get a shot at the AEW World Championship, but the Dark Order gets a shot at the WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS!! The fans love that idea but the Elite freaks out! Omega shouts, “You didn’t earn it! You haven’t earned it!” Callis whispers to Omega and Omega likes his idea. Fans chant “Cowboy Sh*t!” and Omega tells them to shut up!
But Omega gets on the apron to tell everyone to back up so he can talk to his old tag partner. Omega gets in Hangman’s face and says he makes a lot of demands for someone not in a position of power. But Omega entertains the idea. But the thing is, The Elite gets nothing in exchange. So Omega has a suggestion: After the Elite beats Team Hangman one by one by one, etc, not only will the Dark Order lose their shot at the tag titles, Hangman loses his shot, too! That’s right! Omega wants Hangman to walk away. Hangman go home to Ma and Pa and tell them about his wins and losses and be proud of what he’s done. But it ends there.
Stop Omega if you’ve heard this one before, “But they say that you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. But you also don’t fail, either.” And isn’t that what Hangman’s really afraid of? Failing in front of all these people and in front of the fans all around the world? Omega tells fans to shut up again, and promises he will take an extra measure of pleasure when #CowboyShit turns into “Belt Col-lector! Belt Col-lector!” Fans boo that awful chant. So if Hangman’s cool with all that, so is The Elite. The Dark Order try to tell Hangman it’s alright, but Hangman says the Dark Order does NOT back down from a fight! Omega is ON!!
Fans go nuts, and we have a high stakes 10 Man Tag on the horizon!! It will be all or nothing, can the Anxious Millennial Cowboy and his posse rope themselves some golden tickets?
Backstage interview with Chris Jericho.
Alex Marvez brings up last week’s face to face with MJF, and the stipulations MJF put forward if Jericho wants his rematch with MJF. What are Jericho’s thoughts? Jericho says the “Five Labors of Jericho” are very clever but not surprising. MJF is an intelligent and learned man. Not surprising that MJF uses Greek mythology to get what he wants from Jericho. But if he reads all of the Greek mythos, he’d know that after Hercules bested the Cerberus and the Hydra, Hercules got what he wanted. That is what happens next with Jericho!
Jericho doesn’t care who MJF brings in and puts in front of him. It could be Superman, Black Panther, or even a resurrected Muhammed Ali! Jericho will knock them all out! What MJF doesn’t understand is that Jericho will walk through fire and run across broken glass to get after MJF and ruin his life the way MJF tried to ruin Jericho’s! You wanna talk Greek mythology, Jericho’s the perfect guy for it! Jericho is the GOD OF THUNDER AND WAR! But then Shawn Spears barges in and THROAT CHOPS Jericho! MFJ is here, too, and Spears makes sure Jericho looks at him. MJF takes a seat and says, “Hey, Chris. Haven’t seen you since you cheapshot’d me last week.”
MJF says here’s the deal. Jericho’s first “labor” is next week, and Shawn Spears is his opponent! And the stipulation, thanks for asking, is that Spears can use chairs, but Jericho can’t! MJF then grabs Jericho’s bad arm, and Spears JAMS the chair into it! Good luck, Chris! The Pinnacle leaves Jericho behind, but will Jericho be able to muster a truly Herculean effort to overcome this first hurdle?
Matt Hardy VS Christian Cage!
Big Money Matt actually keeps his Hardy Family Office backstage, he wants to do this himself! He feels he still has Captain Charisma’s number in 1v1 matches, even after all this time. But will Christian change that tonight in Texas as he continues to #OutWorkEveryone?
The bell rings and fans fire up as the two icons stare down. They circle, approach and tie up. Hardy powers Christian to a corner but Christian turns things around. They go across the way, Hardy has Christian in a corner again but Christian turns it back around. They end up on ropes, go around the way, and Christian pushes Hardy through the ropes! They tumble but keep the collar ‘n’ elbow on the outside! Hardy puts Christian against the post, Christian powers Hardy to the railing, then headlocks. Hardy stalks Christian, and mockingly asks the fans, “Him?” Hardy says HE is the legend, and he gets Christian up to throw him hard out of the ring! Hardy goes out to stand on Christian’s head! The ref reprimands, Hardy lets off, and Hardy gets Christian up to scoop and SNAKE EYES off the railing! Hardy refreshes the count, goes back to Christian, and ROCKS him with a haymaker. And again! Christian flounders, Hardy puts him in the ring, and takes his time soaking up the heat from the fans. Hardy gets Christian up, clubs him with elbows, but Christian throws haymakers! Christian runs, but into a sleeper! Hardy squeezes tight, thrashes Christian around, and drags him down to the mat.
Hardy headstands to put pressure on the hold, then drops down to crank back. Christian fights up as fans rally, and he turns, only for Hardy to CLUB him down. Hardy gets Christian up, bumps him off buckles again and again, and again and again, and again and again, all three levels! Christian is in a daze, Hardy soaks up the heat, and then takes a bow. Hardy gets Christian back up, scoops, SLAMS him, and points to the corner. AEW returns to single picture as Hardy hops up, does the pose, but Christian TRIPS him off the ropes! Hardy gets up, Christian ROCKS him, and then Christian stands on hardy at the ropes! Christian slingshots over to ROCK Hardy with an uppercut!
Christian climbs again, and leaps for a FLYING UPPERCUT! Cover, TWO! Hardy sits up in a daze but Christian stalks him. Hardy kicks first, reels Christian in, but NO Twist of Fate as Christian shoves him away! Christian wants to get Rated R as he aims from a corner, but Hardy sends the spear into the corner! Christian gets Hardy up, brings him to a corner, and Christian climbs to reel Hardy in. Hardy fires off hands, Christian hits back, they’re brawling and fans are dueling! Hardy ROCKS Christian, throat chops him, and then climbs up. Hardy clubs away on Christian’s back, climbs up even more, and stands Christian up, for a SUPERPLEX! Hardy crawls to make the cover, TWO!!! Christian survives and fans fire up again! Hardy gets up, gets Christian, but Christian cradles! TWO, and Christian wants the underhooks! Hardy resists the turn, grabs the ref, and LOW BLOW MULE KICKS! The ref didn’t see it, and Hardy gets a TWIST OF FATE!! Cover, TWO!?!?? HOW?!?!
Hardy is furious but the ref says he counted fairly. Christian gets out of the ring, Hardy hurries after, and he brings Christian into underhooks, for the LEECH! Christian falls, the ref says it won’t matter out here, but Hardy lets Christian go! Hardy is leaving Christian for dead as he gets in the ring! The ring count climbs, standard 10 count this time! We’re at 5, then 7! Christian springs alive at 9, and gets in at 9.9!! He fights off a Twist to get the KILLSWITCH!! Cover, Christian wins!!
Winner: Christian Cage, by pinfall
For the first time in either man’s careers, Captain Charisma comes out the winner against Matt Hardy! And as far as AEW, Christian is still undefeated! But now the Hardy Family Office is here, ready to attack, but Jurassic Express rush out to counter them! Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus scare off Private Party and Angelico, but just how will this war between HFO and Christian’s friends finish?
Miro speaks.
“Let me tell you a story. There was once a man who was rich. He had a hot wife who could do the splits. But the man was lost. He was lost because he wasn’t being himself. He walked out of his house and looked into the void to see what was next. After a few months, a voice from above came and said the man should forgive himself and remember who he was.” That man was full of power and warned everyone that if they had a title, they had a problem. But the man wasn’t a selfish man, he forgave those he destroyed in his path. This mad him God’s Favorite Champion. And this newly remodeled TNT title, now white and green, was Miro’s reward.
So everyone should know that a true champion is willing to defend their title with their lives. Miro is willing to defend his title with yours. He is The Redeemer, Miro. But who will dare step up to perhaps the most brutal and intimidating champion AEW has ever seen?
Schiavone is back in the ring.
Next week at Fyter Fest Night 2 will be the first title defense of you know who! The one and only Britt Baker, DMD! The Doctor walks out with her AEW Women’s World Championship and pyro, but letting Rebel stay in the back because of her bad leg. Britt goes to the ring, and Schiavone notes that Nyla Rose put her through a table. Everyone is concerned for her well-being. Britt says no one needs to worry about her, she’s dealt with multiple tables, ladders, chairs, and even thumbtacks. And do you know what happened? The bleeding stopped, the wounds healed, and Britt came out “the baddest bitch on the block.” If for one second, you see fear in her eyes, you better look again!
But what is daunting for her is keeping Nyla relevant! Imagine winning the world title only to find out your first challenger is Nyla. Britt has Schiavone stop already because she knows what he’ll say. Nyla has beat Britt, multiple times. And Nyla is the top of the food chain again. But Britt’s off the menu, because she’s special order, in a league of her own! Nyla and Vickie Guerrero are watching backstage as Britt says she knows they’re there! So lucky for Vickie, she has a last name that will forever keep her relevant in pro-wrestling! As for her client, not so much. Because Nyla needs the title to have any kind of significance in AEW.
But the title isn’t going anywhere except right back around Britt’s waist, where it belongs. And with this, Britt is the hottest thing in pro-wrestling, but even without it, she is still Dr. Britt Baker, DMD. As for Vickie and Nyla backstage, Vickie says Britt’s days are numbered! Next week, Nyla will get her hands on Britt, and Vickie promises to get the biggest, hottest jalapeno and shove it up Britt’s ass!! Nyla adds that Britt’s been handed everything her whole life! But next week, Nyla hands her the biggest ass whooping of her life! It’ll be world class. And don’t hold Nyla responsible, because it’s just the nature of the beast! Will the Native Beast sink her teeth into Britt and take her down once again?
Jon Moxley speaks.
“I once said myself, one does not beat Lance Archer, one survives Lance Archer. I survived him in Tokyo, and I survived Lance Archer in Jacksonville, and I realized something. He’s never gonna stop. He’s never gonna stop coming after me.” Archer wants to take Moxley down, end his career! But the way Mox looks at it, he gets them before they get him. He is not the hunted but the hunter! There is only ONE Bougie Man in New Japan and AEW, and that is the IWGP US Champion, Jon Moxley! Archer wants Texas Deathmatch II? Then next week, Archer will not only be Texan Born and Bred, but he’ll be Texas DEAD! Challenge accepted, will Fyter Fest burn it down on night two?
Wheeler Yuta w/ Best Friends VS Sammy Guevara!
The Decoder’s Dynamite debut comes off a rough night back at Daily’s Place where he lost to the Hardy Family Office’s South African Submission Specialist, Angelico. But can he have a huge rebound at the expense of the Spanish God? Or will Sammy use Yuta as a springboard to go after the Pinnacle for what they’ve done to Jericho?
The bell rings and the two tie up. Yuta headlocks, Sammy powers out but Yuta runs him over. Things speed up, Sammy hurdles, leaps, and dropkicks Yuta down! Yuta bails out as Sammy kips up. Fans fire up as Sammy aims, but he fakes Yuta out to springboard back and spin to a pose. Yuta gets in as Sammy kips back up and the two go again. Yuta fakes Sammy out to trip him up, and things speed up. Sammy hurdles, Yuta leaps, but Sammy waistlocks. Yuta elbows out, runs in but Sammy hits a HIGH POWERSLAM! The Spanish God gets the victory, but he gives Yuta a show of respect. Will Sammy get after the Chair Man once Jericho is through with him?
Schiavone interviews The Factory.
QT Marshall, Aaron Solow and Nick Comoroto are all here, and Schiavone notes the “tremendous performance” QT had against Cody in the South Beach Strap Match. QT stops him there to ask why Schiavone has attitude. Two weeks ago, Schiavone couldn’t wait to tell everyone how QT pinned the American Nightmare in the ring. Is Schiavone feeding into the crap everyone spews? Is he thinking QT got buried by the golden shovel Cody holds? He ought to pour Solow’s drink right on Schiavone’s head. But he won’t, he’s just kidding. No, wait, he will. Schiavone is upset but QT dares him to hit him. He doesn’t, and The Factory leaves. Will they continue to taunt, troll and bully everyone they can until they get payback on the Nightmare Family?

The Superbad Girl and the Wrestling Magical Girl have both had great returns to AEW action, but now they collide on the road to the top of the rankings! Will Texas be feeling superbad or magical tonight?

Cover, Yuka wins!

That was superbad for Ford, but it was great for Yuka-chan! Will this mean the Magical Girl will be flying up the rankings to get closer to a title opportunity?
BREAKING NEWS! There’s more to the Fyter Fest Night 2 card!
Not only will there be the AEW Women’s World Championship match of Britt Baker VS Nyla Rose, but AEW has decided to give Moxley and Archer what they want! Texas Deathmatch II WILL happen, but who will survive? Plus, the first of the Five Labors of Jericho, where Shawn Spears can use chairs but Jericho must obey the rules, and a rematch between Orange Cassidy and The Blade! So many grudge matches, everything really IS bigger in Texas!
Coffin Match: Darby Allin VS Ethan Page!
One is Relentless, the other is All Ego. But this has escalated from being personal to being downright dangerous! AEW prospects are the somber pallbearers as they bring the classically shaped casket to the ring, and the inscription on it reads, “Nothing’s over till you’re underground.” Who puts the final nail in the other’s coffin in this career defining and career shortening showdown?
The second Darby’s in the ring, he body blocks Ethan in the corner! The bell rings, Darby hits another body block! Fans fire up as Darby takes off his jacket to reveal he’s wearing a steel plate on his back! No wonder those attacks had more impact! Darby runs and springboards, FLYING COFFIN DROP! Ethan flounders and falls out of the ring, Darby takes the plate off to run and DIVE! Direct hit with that tope suicida body check and Ethan hits railing! Darby snarls as he goes to the coffin and opens it up! Surprise, it’s a Scorpio Sky in the box! He DECKS Darby, while having a black rose in his mouth! Seems the Men of the Year had something up their proverbial sleeves all along!
Scorpio drags Darby up and whips him hard at the steel steps! Darby tries to leap over it but he still clips his knee and tumbles! But here comes STIIIIIIING! The Icon kicks Scorpio, kicks him again, but Scorpio knees Sting low! Scorpio whips but Sting reverses and sends Scorpio into the railing! Fans are loving it as Sting whips Scorpio around and around the same corner of the railing, and then over the railing! Sting chases Scorpio through the crowd, they brawl, and Sting smacks Scorpio off more railing Sting runs in, but Scorpio moves, Stinger Splash hits barriers! Meanwhile, Ethan is using a tool to undo one of the bottom rope’s corners!
Scorpio goes up onto the barrier, mocks Sting, but then Sting trips him up! Scorpio lands on his stinger! Sting then SMACKS Scorpio with a trash can! Scorpio scrambles away, but gets hit with the trash can again! Ethan has undone the bottom rope, runs at Darby, but is sent up and over the railing! Ethan hits the floor right in front of AEW Jesus and AEW goes picture in picture.
Darby leaps the railing to go after Ethan! Darby fires off crossface haymakers while being a backpack, but Ethan RAMS Darby into the barriers! Ethan gets Darby up to throw him over this barrier, and Darby slowly gets up as Ethan breaks a fan’s Darby sign. Ethan stalks Darby up the bleachers, throws forearms, and then scoops him, only for Darby to slip off! Darby shoves Ethan into the side of the stairs, then climbs up and LEAPS from the balcony! But Ethan catches Darby to RAM him into the side! And then the other side! And he puts Darby through the hand rail to BEND him back against the steel bar! Darby flails and flaps, Ethan lets off and lets Darby slump down.
Ethan soaks up the heat from the fans all around him, stalks Darby back down the stairs, and then gorilla presses him to carry him all the way back, and TOSSES him to the ground level!! Ethan snarls as he stalks Darby back towards ringside. Ethan takes aim, runs in, and BOOTS Darby back over the railing! Ethan moves the steel steps around, gets them up, and then into the ring! This is why he took the bottom rope off on one side! Ethan gets Darby in the ring, positions the steps, and while fans rally up for Darby, Ethan pops Darby up to DROP him on the steps! Darby falls back into a corner, Ethan grins as the fans boo.

He kisses the hook, and then hooks it into Darby’s necklace! Darby tries to get away, but Ethan YANKS him right down! The necklace breaks and Darby sputters, and Ethan just mocks Darby’s pain. Darby crawls, fans chant, “F YOU ETHAN! F YOU ETHAN!” Ethan gets Darby up and aims for the coffin, but Darby JAMS Ethan with the crossbar! Ethan is down, and Darby hooks his mouth with the hook!! Talk about catching a big mouth bass!
Darby lets off on the hook, lines up the steel steps, and runs to dropkick the steps into Ethan! Ethan tumbles into the coffin! But Darby has to shut it on him! Darby hurries over, gets on the apron, but Ethan drags Darby into the coffin with him! They brawl inside the coffin! Ethan ROCKS Darby, Darby ROCKS Ethan, repeat! Darby gets the edge but Ethan bumps him off the apron! Ethan stands up, choke grips and ROCKS Darby again! Ethan ROCKS Darby with these slapping haymakers! Fans are thunderous for Darby and Darby BITES Ethan’s fingers! Darby runs but Ethan back drops him out of the coffin! Ethan hurries out, a cut on his forehead starting to bleed.

Darby fights free, shoves Ethan off the steps, to then THROWBACK STUNNER! Ethan falls back onto the steps, Darby climbs up a corner! Darby aims but Ethan trips him up! Ethan gets up, lifts Darby in the crucifix, SUPER EGO’S EDGE onto the steel steps!!! Darby falls off the steps as he writhes and fans lose their minds again! “This is Awesome!” but far from over as Ethan drags Darby over. Ethan gets Darby up on the apron, suplexes, but Darby slips around to RAKE the eyes!! Darby BITES the nose!
Darby lets off, and Ethan is still on the apron. Darby gets his skateboard back, climbs up top with it, and leaps for a SKATEBOARD STOMP onto Ethan’s back! Ethan falls into the casket, and Darby CLOSES it! Darby wins!!
Winner: Darby Allin
The coffin didn’t drop but it has been shut on All Ego! But Darby doesn’t seem satisfied with this. He drags the coffin around to line it up with the corner!? Darby climbs up, because he wants to SUPER COFFIN DROP through the lid!!! Is the feud finally over for the Relentless and the Men of the Year? Or is nothing is over ’til you’re in the ground?
My Thoughts:
Another great night for AEW and a great start to Fyter Fest! Opening with the IWGP US Championship was great, it was a lot of fun with Kingston and Gallows brawling on the outside for a minute, and while Anderson didn’t win, he did remind us that he is a very good singles wrestler. Moxley and Archer reviving their feud again is great, as is bringing things back to their NJPW Texas Deathmatch. That match being added to Fyter Fest Night 2 is great, that match can definitely raise the quality of night 2 all on its own. Speaking of night 2, Britt VS Nyla is going to be great, too, and everyone involved there had really good promos, but I am still confident Britt retains. Even though she’s still technically Heel, fans are really behind her so that alone is why she’s retaining.
Now, we did get these somewhat filler matches in Sammy VS Yuta and Ford VS Yuka. Both were very good matches, even though Yuka and Ford seemed to take a second to synch up the pace. Yuka getting the win is great, AEW is building the relationship with their partners, and Yuka could freshen up the rankings with a few more big wins. Sammy naturally gets the win because he’s from Texas, he’s the more experienced and well-known guy, and he has to keep momentum if he’s to go after Shawn Spears and The Pinnacle. And while Jericho recycled a lot of his promo from last week for tonight, MJF and Spears attacking was a good way of establishing the first “labor of Jericho.”
We got quite a lot of other interview promos tonight, too. Andrade showing interest in Death Triangle is very intriguing. Does he want to join them? Fight them? I’m leaning towards the latter because we’d get some awesome matches out of them in some AAA-in-AEW samplers. Tully being semi-jumped by PNP was great, but I was kinda hoping it was Konnan himself getting Tully with a madball sock. Maybe we can get that in whatever rematch we’ll have of FTR and PNP. And the Factory really just established they’re sore losers and bullies, and leaves us wondering if they’re moving on from the Nightmare Family or just going down to lower tier members now that Cody is busy with Malakai Aleister Black.
Speaking of, Cody had a good sorta double promo. He gave a promo one way on commentary then did it another way on the live mic. What was most impressive was how smooth it was for Malakai to go from titantron to in the ring. That titantron video had to be a recording, but Cody played off it so smoothly that you’d think it was a live feed. Then Malakai is in the ring, he brawls with Cody, they’re going to have a great match either at Fight for the Fallen or All Out, I just hope Malakai wins. Cody’s certainly built himself up in his own corner of the AEW universe, him putting Malakai over would be best overall as far as I’m concerned.
The FTW Championship was a very good match, especially for it being Starks’ return. Commentary said he didn’t have ring rust but I feel like there was some, such as the hip toss being a bit sloppy. But he did get right back into things, and they did a great double swerve that tricked me, too. Hobbs took the belt from Starks so he couldn’t hit Cage with it, making it seem like they were going the opposite way, i.e. Team Taz keeping Cage. But instead, it went as expected as Hobbs hits Cage and Starks wins. Starks is champion, Cage is out of the team, and I’m looking forward to how this story continues. Cage VS Hobbs should definitely happen before a rematch, that’d be great stuff.
Miro redesigning the belt was a given but I thought it’d have a new name. No, just a new look. I think the TNT Championship is going to make history as the most redesigned title in the shortest amount of time. The white belt does look good but the green seems oddly glaring on it. Why not keep the “championship” banner red? Anyway, I can’t wait to see who takes it off him and then recolors it per their colors. The segment with Hangman, Dark Order, Omega and the Elite was all great stuff, and I love that they’re going with how I felt it was going. Hangman is ready to go for the world title, Uno & Stu can get after the tag titles, all at the same time, and a TEN MAN Elimination tag match is going to be amazing. Maybe that’s on Fight for the Fallen so that all those title matches happen at All Out.
Hardy VS Christian was a very good match, especially because they chose to not overbook this and let it be just 1v1. Of course Christian wins, though, that’s just how everything in AEW has been building, and acknowledging their past against each other (without naming WWE, mind you) was exactly what they should’ve done. HFO rushing out there, and then Jurassic Express showing up, also all what they should’ve done. I’m ready for that big team match, especially since Cassidy VS Blade is happening at Fyter Fest night 2 next week and could bring everyone back out there again.
The Coffin Match was awesome stuff! I wondered why Darby didn’t just make his entrance in the coffin, but then we got Scorpio springing out of it and that was great. Sting going after Scorpio was natural, and I hope this means those two have a 1v1 grudge match of some kind. There was a lot of creativity in the spots, from using that entire bleacher area on that one side to undoing the bottom rope so they could get those beefy steps they use in the ring. Darby wins, of course, because he’ll be done with Ethan and then Sting can get past Scorpio, but I do love that he wasn’t satisfied until he used a Coffin Drop on the coffin. Whether or not Hangman beats Omega, I hope Darby is on the outside of the world title scene. Darby could give either man an awesome match come Full Gear 2021.
My Score: 9/10

AEW shares footage from after last week’s Dynamite.
Claudio told Pac to go ahead and speak his mind. The Bastard told Yuta Wheeler, “Where ya been, man? We’re the Trios Champions, and we haven’t heard from you since the PPV. It’s very simple. Next week, we have a championship defense, so it’s time to come to work. Ya understand me? Pull your socks up, Yuta, and we’ll see you next week.” The Swiss Superman then says he isn’t mad at Yuta, he’s just disappointed. He thought he taught Yuta better. But obviously, Yuta is old enough to make his own decisions, but… Do them one favor and just show up next week to help defend these titles.
Moxley steps in and says he knows this is a lot to handle, but believe him, Yuta has the strength inside him to do the right thing. It’s Yuta’s choice. He’s free to leave the group. He is not trapped. Yuta can do whatever he wants. But he has a personal responsibility to the greater good. Yuta has to look himself in the mirror and ask, “What kind of man did we teach you to be?” This BCC then headed out, having given the ultimatum. But then, what is The Decoder’s response?
Backstage interview with Wheeler Yuta.
Alex Marvez catches Yuta as he’s apparently already leaving, and he thanks Yuta for this time. Alex brings up the BCC’s message that the AEW World Trios Championships will be on the line next week for Grand Slam. Yuta says yeah, he’s most certainly conflicted given recent events. He worked his whole career for a chance like this, to be a champion, and if they’re gonna showcase what they’ve got at WrestleDream, then- Oh, no, the defense is for Grand Slam. But then in steps a staffer, and he says Yuta almost forgot his World Trios belt. Oh, sorry, his mind’s been all over the place. Yuta takes the belt back.
Yuta says there is one thing Yuta’s learned from Bryan Danielson. It’s that you don’t change who you are just because those around you are changing. Yuta is a fighting champion, he takes pride in carrying this championship, so despite what the BCC wants, if they want this “favor,” if they want him to help defend the titles at Grand Slam, then Yuta will kick whoever’s ass he has to. Yuta heads out, but can he keep his feelings separate from business?
The Undisputed Kingdom joins commentary.
Roderick Strong, Matt Taven & Mike Bennett have snuck their way out to join Excalibur, Tony Schiavone & Taz to watch this next match. Guess why.
Hook VS JD Ink!
Roddy shouts at “HOOOOK~!” but Hook ignores him and Roddy says that’s disrespectful. Roddy asks if Taz brought Hook up to disrespect living legends like Roddy. But the Cold Hearted Handsome Devil is about focusing on his work, no distractions. Will the man of 1000 tattoos get this work as an example to Roddy?
The bell rings, Ink talks trash, but Hook LARIATS him down! Then he drags Ink up to HALF HATCH! Ink writhes, Hook drags him up again, and then NORTHERN LIGHTS! The fans rally as Hook clamps on a head ‘n’ arm, for another SUPLEX! The fans cheer but Roddy talks trash, how is Hook gonna throw Roddy with a broken back? Hook clamps onto Ink for crossface forearms! Taz throws those back at Roddy. Then REDRUM!! Ink taps, Hook wins!
Winner: Hook, by submission
Roddy says aw, look at “Hook Hogan” right there, brother! Hook gets the FTW Championship back, goes back up the ramp and Roddy says maybe Hook will pay attention now. Hook does look over, and tells Roddy he’s gonna get his. Roddy says yeah, because Grand Slam, the FTW Championship comes home with him! Roddy “thanks” commentary for their time, and The Kingdom heads out. Will the Savior of the Backbreaker break down the Cold Hearted Handsome Devil? Or will end up the one broken?
Alex Marvez has an update.
“Alex Scoops” says that Claudio, Pac & Yuta have now issued an Open Challenge for the World Trios Championship match, and that sounds like something up Private Party’s alley. Marq Quen & Isiah Kassidy step in and they say Marvez already knows it is! Claudio, Mox, Pac, Brother Zay said this last week, and he’ll say it again so you slimy boys will understand! If you wanted a fight, all you had to do was ask. Quen says if you take away the fun, take away the shots, and what do you have? Two boys from Brooklyn that’re ready to fight! And speaking of New York, why not do this next week? Grand Slam, challenge accepted!
Zay says if BCC’s feeling froggy, then take a leap! Put those belts on the line. And don’t worry, they’ve got a guy for their third. And while they’re still here, Zay wants to get this off his chest. Moxley! Zay hopes you’re listening because he’s deadass serious right now. If Mox wants a war, let this be the first battle. Expected the unexpected! And Zay knows all your pages, boy. Swear to God! Private Party heads out ready to be fighters, but will they be ready to become champions in their own backyards?
Backstage interview with The Patriarchy.
Renee Paquette is with Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, Mother Shayna Wayne, and Killswitch/Luchasaurus. She brings up Christian Cage made it clear last week that with his guaranteed title shot contract, all he has to do is sign his name, execute it and- Christian cuts her off to say he’ll have an AEW World Championship match any place and time that he wants, yes. Hard-hitting journalism here, Renee, thanks. Christian says he could sit here and talk about himself all day long, but he’d like to take a moment to talk about his Prodigy, Nick Wayne. This Friday Night Rampage, Nick is in a Fatal 4 of him, Rocky Romero, Lio Rush and Kip Sabian.
The importance of this match cannot be understated, as this match is the start of Nick’s road to glory. This match will be Nick’s launchpad to glory. Christian decided that he and Nick will hold titles at the same time. That makes for a very unfortunate conversation in the Moxley Household, as Renee’s husband has some designs at the world title. The problem is… Moxley doesn’t have this contract. Now, be professional for once, Renee, and address him by his proper moniker. Do it. Renee says, “Ladies and gentlemen, Christian Cage, the reigning, defending, undisputed next AEW World Champion.” Nick heads offscreen and Christian notices something.
The camera pans over, and it’s Kip Sabian! Christian says turn the cameras off but Mr. Superbad just wants to say there are no hard feelings. Christian doesn’t care. He doesn’t know what Kip’s problem is with Nick, and he doesn’t care about Kip’s late father or anything else. None of that matters, it doesn’t affect Christian. What does is that he keeps seeing Kip’s face! If he sees it again, he puts Kip in the dirt right next to his dad. Got it?! Kip says okay, and then Christian pushes the cameraman. Just what is going on with Kip that he keeps hovering around The Patriarchy? Will it affect the outcome of Rampage’s Fatal 4?
Yuka Sakazaki & Queen Aminata VS Mariah May & Serena Deeb!
The Wrestling Magical Girl wants The Glamour’s gold, and the One True African Woman wants The Professor to take her condescending “lessons” and shove ’em! Will Yuka & Aminata both get what they want here tonight? Or will Mariah & Serena assert their dominance on Dynamite?
The teams sort out and Mariah starts against Yuka, but Mariah made it clear last Saturday that she doesn’t take Yuta seriously. But then Serena tags herself in, and while Mariah’s surprised by that, she allows it. Serena and Yuka tie up, go around, and Serena wrenches to wristlock and wrangle Yuka. Yuka reaches up to headscissor but Serena kips free. Yuka headlocks now but Serena powers free, and the two RAM shoulders. Serena rebounds to run Yuka over! The fans boo but things keep moving. Serena holds ropes to stop herself, then she blocks a kick to DRAGON SCREW, only for Yuka to sit on it! TWO!!
Serena sunset flips, TWO! Yuka cradles, TWO! Serena cradles, TWO! The fans fire up as we get Collision revisited! Serena sweeps the legs, covers, TWO! Yuka sweeps, covers, ONE! The two have a standoff and the fans cheer. Serena and Yuka reset, circle, and Serena waistlocks. Yuka pries free, wrenches the arm and puts Serena on ropes. Yuka hits a snapmare and roll, to then KICK Serena right in the face! Tag to Aminata, she PENALTY KICKS! Yuka hits a rolling leg pick to sit Serena back up, for a SHOTGUN from Aminata! Mariah doesn’t even care, she’s just posing with the belt. Serena reaches out for a tag but there’s no one there!
Aminata runs up on Serena, fires forearms, but Serena pushes back. Serena blocks a kick, avoids the haymakers, then puts the leg on ropes! Serena goes to the apron, DRAPING DRAGON SCREW! Serena runs to CLOBBER Aminata from behind! Aminata falls back, clutches her leg, and now Mariah tags in. The Glamour sits Aminata up to run and SHOTGUN her down! Mariah then sucker punches Yuka for the hell of it! Mariah mockingly says, “Okay~!” a la Yuka, but the ref reprimands. The fans boo, Aminata ROCKS Mariah, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Mariah puts Aminata in the corner to CHOP! Mariah stomps Aminata, bumps her off buckles, then stomps her some more. The ref counts, Mariah digs her boot in, but she lets off at 4. Mariah brings Aminata over, tags Serena with some stank, and Serena stomps Aminata. Serena UPPERCUTS Aminata, UPPERCUTS again, then headlocks for a takeover. Serena quickly floats to tie up the legs, and she puts Aminata in Paradise! Serena sits on Aminata, soaks up the cheers and jeers, then rallies the fans as she gets space. Serena runs up to DROPKICK Aminata out of Paradise! Serena again soaks up cheers and jeers while Aminata clutches her cheeks.
Serena taunts Aminata, but Aminata fires body shots. Serena UPPERCUTS Aminata, reels her in, and short arm LARIATS! Cover, TWO! Aminata toughs it out but Serena drags her back up. Serena hits a TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Cover, TWO! Aminata is still in this, but she pushes Aminata around. Serena pie faces Aminata, pie faces her again, then eggs her on. Serena scuffs Aminata, but Aminata fires forearms! Serena fires back, then UPPERCUTS! Aminata pushes Serena, then ROCKS her! Serena SLAPS, ROCKS, then kicks Aminata as Dynamite returns to single picture. Aminata SLAPS back! So Serena SLAPS again!
The fans fire up, Serena reels Aminata in, but Aminata BACKDROPS free! Hot tag to Yuka, she goes up a corner, and she MISSILE DROPKICKS! Mariah runs in, Yuka dodges and RANAS! Mariah tumbles, Yuka runs up, GAMANGIRI in the corner! Yuka scoops Serena for a NORTHERN LIGHTS BOMB! Then she suplexes Mariah onto Serena! The fans fire up and Yuka covers Serena, TWO! Serena is still in this but Yuka aims. SUPERKICK and down goes Serena! Cover, Mariah drags Yuka up with a waistlock! GERMAN SUPLEX! Aminata gets in, she GERMAN SUPLEXES Mariah! The fans fire up but now Serena GERMAN SUPLEXES Aminata!
Wilkes-Barre fires up as they become Suplex City! But here comes Yuka to hammerlock, scoop and SPIN with Serena, for the MERRY-GO-DOWN! The fans fire up while Serena writhes, and Yuka shakes out the stars. Yuka sees everyone outside, so she goes up the ropes! MAGICAL GIRL SPLASH to the outside! Everyone falls and the fans fire up as Yuka says, “OKAY~!” Yuka puts Serena in, calls her shot, and then goes up the ropes. MAGICAL GIRL SPLASH! Cover, Mariah CLOBBERS Yuka, with the belt!! The ref sees it clear as day, he calls the disqualification!
Winners: Yuka Sakazaki & Queen Aminata, by disqualification
The Glamour doesn’t care, she just didn’t want anyone else having their moment. Mariah drags Yuka around, CLUBS her down, then picks up the belt so she can LASH her with it! And again! And again! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Mariah just grinds Yuka’s face into the belt! Mariah drags Yuka up, kisses her on the cheek, then pushes her down. Mariah doesn’t care that she’s a bad girl, because she’s the champion! Will she always be the champion when she’s willing to resort to the lowest of lows?
Mina Shirakawa speaks.
“Mariah May, I have not heard from you in months. I watched you win the AEW Women’s World Championship at Wembley Stadium! And now, you say you want Mina? You have changed, Mariah. I don’t know if I like what you’ve become. But… I still miss you! We had so many good times together, and we could have even more. In my heart, I want Mariah. So, you want to celebrate? Do you really want Mina? Does AEW really want Mina? Well, get ready, cuz Mina is coming~!” The Fighting Gravure Idol is on her way back, but will she celebrate with Mariah? Or will she slap some sense into her before Mariah goes off the deep end?
AEW looks at the storied rivalry of Bryan Danielson VS Nigel McGuinness.
Nigel says, “You hear ‘No one knows you were a wrestler’ enough, you start to believe it. Bryan and I always brought out the best, or some might say the worst, of each other.” Mark Briscoe says that rivalry was one of the things that put ROH on the map. Roderick Strong says they were both trying to prove something to the world and each other. It was the epitome of pure pro-wrestling. Jerry Lynn says Bryan is the best in the world, but maybe not if Nigel hadn’t been sidelined for so long. Roddy says Nigel saw he wasn’t valued like Bryan, so it gave him something to chase. Mark says Nigel felt slighted by how Bryan was the “golden boy.”
Nigel wanted people to see him the way they did Bryan. Nigel has always been Nigel’s worst enemy. Nigel knows he can’t go back and get back those lost years. But what he can get now, is redemption from the one man that everyone knows was a wrestler, perhaps the most famous wrestler in the world, The American Dragon, Bryan Danielson. That match is set for Grand Slam, but will Bryan be able to give Nigel the fight he wants?
Jon Moxley heads to the ring.
Leading the way for his Blackpool Combat Club, The Maniac makes his way from the back of the crowd to the ringside area. And despite what Moxley did to Bryan Danielson, the fans are still excited to see Moxley, only for Private Party to go after him! But with Claudio & Marina around, that’s a 3v2 fight! Private Party is TOSSED to the ring, but they get up to keep fighting! Claudio SWINGS Quen into railing! Moxley sends Zay into steel steps! Marina drags Zay up for Moxley to get in his face, and Claudio gives Quen a CHOKE SLAM BACKBREAKER! Quen sputters as Claudio pushes him down, and Moxley CHOKES Zay!
Claudio CHOKE SLAM BACKBREAKERS again! The fans are going nuts as Moxley drags Zay up and throws him into steel steps again! Marina doesn’t let Zay rest, she stomps a mudhole into him against the railing! Moxley and Claudio just let Marina handle this as she SLINGS Zay into railing. Then Moxley sits Zay up for a SLEEPER, and Marina fires body shots and KICKS! They push Zay down, but Zay is still grabbing at Moxley! Wait, Komander is here! Private Party’s amigo has been teaming with them on Collision, so now he’s here to DROPKICK Claudio off the apron! Komander builds speed to DIVE, but into an UPPERCUT!
Komander sputters, Moxley says hold on, don’t forget Alex Abrahantes. Marina grins as she storms up on The Hype Man, and SWLINGS him down! She takes his mic, and Claudio TOSSES Komander into the crowd! Moxley brings out the toolbox from under the ring! Moxley grabs a hammer while Claudio TOSSES Zay into the stage lights! Moxley has the mic now, too, and he tells Private Party, “I could end your careers right now for what you just did. But I’m not gonna do that. I’m not gonna do that.” Marina & Claudio hold Zay down, arms outstretched, against the stage. Moxley knows Private Party’s been in AEW since the beginning. That’s five years!
But they’re in the exact same spot as they were five years ago! Why is that? Moxley gives them a bit of what they’ve been missing. He’ll give them some friction, some resistance, an obstacle to overcome. Consider this a gift! Then Moxley SMASHES Zay’s hand with a hammer!! Fans lose their minds and Zay writhes in pain! The fans tell Moxley he is sick, but then Darby Allin CLOBBERS Claudio from behind, with his skateboard!! The fans fire up, but Moxley TOSSES Darby into the ring! Moxley runs up, shoves Darby, but Darby isn’t backing down! The fans fire up as these two circle, waiting for the other to swing.
Marina has Claudio stay back, this is getting interesting. Darby runs up but Moxley bails out! Darby grabs the mic now and tells Moxley, “When’re you gonna realize I am NOT the same guy you knew five years ago!?” Darby is going to run through Moxley at Grand Slam, then he’ll walk into WrestleDream, in his home state, and he will become the NEXT AEW World Champion!! The fans are fired up for that! Will Darby make it through The Maniac to make his WrestleDream come true? Or will Moxley show that even a Relentless One has his limits?
Jack Perry drives in his Scapegoat Bus.
An All Points Bulletin is put out for the black bus with white lettering, and we get a highlight reel of his All Out match with Bryan Danielson. His words are repeated, “People like me are crucified in this life so we can be worshipped in the next.” We get a highlight reel of his TNT Championship defenses. He is fighting for something, and he can’t stop now. This is the beginning of his era, and those who hate him are those who can’t handle the truth. Then is the truth of AEW’s future going to be that no one is going to stop Face of TNT?
Ricochet VS The Beast Mortos!
The One & Only is on the tail of Will Ospreay and that AEW International Championship, but it seems that has brought him across the path of a menacing minotaur. One way or another, is this battle about to be #OuttaThisWorld?

Ricochet stays in this, but Mortos stays on him with a seated cobra twist! Mortos punches away on Ricochet’s ribs but Ricochet still endures. Mortos lets off the hold, soaks up the cheers and jeers, then drags Ricochet up. Mortos bumps Ricochet off buckles, then wraps an arm around the ropes to pull!

Dynamite returns to single picture as Mortos clamps on another chinlock.
The fans rally, Ricochet endures and fights up. Ricochet fires body shots, but Mortos CLUBS him! Mortos drags Ricochet up, Ricochet fights free and fires forearms and CHOPS! Ricochet goes to run but Mortos stops him! Mortos whips Ricochet to a corner, runs in, but is sent into buckles! Corner 619 from Ricochet, and then he springboards in again! Mortos gets under, so Ricochet handsprings, only to get caught! GERMAN SUPLEX, but Ricochet lands on his feet! Ricochet hops up, Mortos slips free, and he shoves Ricochet to POP-UP SAMOAN DROP! The beast gave him one hell of a battle, but Ricochet is the One & Only for a reason! Will he soon be the number one contender to the Aerial Assassin’s International Champion?
BREAKING NEWS for Collision!
Given last week’s conclusion to Collision, in which The Outrunners helped FTR fight off the Grizzled Young Veterans, a MASSIVE All Star 10 Man Tag match has been made! FTR and The Outrunners team with Hook to take on GYV, The Beast Mortos, Rush and Roderick Strong! Will Cash, Dax, Turbo, Truth and the FTW Champion stand tall as the “Youngest Top Guys Alive?” Or will Zack Gibson, James Drake, two bulls and the Savior of the Backbreaker teach them to #GritYourTeeth?
Tony Schiavone is in the ring.
He welcomes out to the ring, Hangman Adam Page! Wilkes-Barre is torn seeing the Black Hat Cowboy make his way out here given everything he’s done the last two weeks. Hangman goes right to the ring, and Schiavone just wants a word with him. At All Out, Hangman got his win in what was perhaps the most violent match in AEW history against Swerve Strickland. But then a week ago, he went so far as to say that this is not over. Hangman has warned anyone and everyone who would support Swerve or be in Hangman’s way. What was he talking about? The fans are all over the place with “Swerve’s House!” and “Cowboy Sh*t!” as Hangman thinks on his words.
Hangman says he has watched and listened for a long time, because he knew a day like this would come. He knew the day would come when Swerve Strickland was dealt with, and he would be GONE! Hangman paces before saying, “And I knew that it wouldn’t be just Swerve who needed to pay what had happened to me. There would be dozens and dozens of people who stood behind him, people who protected him from me, and people who supported Swerve Strickland.” The dueling continues, but Hangman says apparently, he is surrounded by those people now! People here cheered Swerve Strickland all the way to the world championship!
Those people cheer now, and Hangman says they were people who would cheer Swerve through every defense, and even when he was finally locked in a steel cage with his fate! And when Hangman hears those voices, he is reminded of the four months he sat at home suspended. He heard all the cheering, and then he remembered. He seemed to hear another voice cheering Swerve on. He heard that voice loud and clear above them all. A voice coming clear from the commentary desk… Uh oh. Hangman looks right at Schiavone! Schiavone brings up Jeff Jarrett, but Hangman says Jarrett is not here now, is he? But Schiavone is…!
Hangman corners Schiavone, Schiavone wants to apologize, but wait! Jarrett IS here! The fans cheer as Double J storms down to the ring! And Hangman is right on him! Hangman HAMMERS away on Jarrett, gets him out of the ring, and then whips him hard into railing! Jarrett goes up and over into the crowd, but Hangman is right in him! Hangman TOSSES Jarrett back over! Jarrett grabs a chair but Hangman hits him first! Hangman keeps throwing haymakers on Jarrett, then SMACKS Jarrett off the railing! And then Hangman puts Jarrett back in the ring, and takes aim from the apron! But security grabs Hangman’s legs!
The fans boo but Hangman kicks free of the guards. Jarrett comes back for more! The security and refs get in there to separate them, but fans want to “LET THEM FIGHT! LET THEM FIGHT!” Hangman bails out of the ring, Jarrett wants to pursue, but Jay Lethal stops him! Lethal wants his teammate to think this through! The rest of Team Triple J is here, too, from Sonjay to Satnam to Karen Jarrett. Jarrett glares at Hangman from the ring, then asks for a mic. A mic is given, and Jarrett tells Hangman, “I’ll be damned if I’m gonna sit back there and let you put one freakin’ finger on Tony Schiavone!” The fans cheer that!
Jarrett says in fact, there is an entire locker room that wants to beat the hell outta Hangman, and The Last Outlaw is first in line! “Hanger, as I have affectionately come to know you by that name, I’m gonna make a promise to you. If it’s the last thing I do in my career, somehow, someway, some place, The Last Outlaw is gonna kick your ass!” The fans fire up for that, too! When, where and how will we see that happen between these two wild cowboys?
Backstage interview with Ricochet.
Renee Paquette is now with The One & Only and congratulates him on the big win over Beast Mortos. But then in steps Will Ospreay! Ospreay apologizes to Renee, but asks for a word with Ricochet. Renee steps aside and Ospreay says he should’ve known things are always a little heated between them. He apologizes for before. Ricochet says no need to be sorry. But uh, since he’s here, there’s something Ospreay needs to know. Ricochet was thinking on what Ospreay told him. Does Ospreay remember what he said? That he needs to get wins. Yeah, that’s right. To go get wins and come see Ospreay, like Ospreay’s the big main event around here.
But here’s how it is from Ricochet’s point of view. From Ricochet’s perspective, the moment he stepped here in AEW, it has been nothing but everyone else going out of their way to call Ricochet out, like they gotta prove to the world that they’re better than Ricochet. So it seems like everyone here is more worried about him than he is of them. And it seems that everyone is more worried about Ricochet than they are of Ospreay. No one’s calling Ospreay out. So Ricochet will do the honors. He knows next week, Ospreay is busy, reuniting the United Empire with Kyle Fletcher or whatever, trying to win tag team gold. Ricochet wishes him nothing but the best.
But the following week, maybe Ospreay won’t be too busy. Because Ricochet took Ospreay’s advice. Ricochet talked with Tony Khan. And on October 2nd, Dynamite’s FIVE YEAR Anniversary, it will be Ricochet VS Ospreay for the International Championship! Ricochet knows he and Ospreay had matches against each other that literally changed the landscape of pro-wrestling. And over these past couple of years, sure, Ospreay has been #OnAnotherLevel. But Ricochet is still Ricochet, he is #OuttaThisWorld, and on October 2nd, Ospreay finds out why! See you soon. Real soon. Little brother.
Ricochet heads out, giving Ospreay a lot to think about. But can Ospreay focus on what’s ahead of him? The Six Man Tag main event is up, after the break!
Six Man Tag: Will Ospreay, Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita VS The Elite!
The Aerial Assassin reunited with The Aussie Arrow as a favor to the Don Callis Family, but he isn’t back in the family because of it. But even so, Ospreay & Fletcher still won the right to challenge The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championships via the first-ever Tag Team Casino Gauntlet! At the same time, The Alpha wants to show the Fatal 4 Way at All Out proved nothing, and he is after Kazuchika Okada’s Continental Championship! Are the walls closing in on The Elite? Or can Matthew, Nicholas & The Rainmaker find a way through their own gauntlet?
The trios sort out and the fans sing for “Ospreay~, Ospreay Ospreay Ospreay~!” but it is Kyle starting against Nick. They circle, feel out a knuckle lock, but Nick kicks low, CLUBS away, then headlocks. Kyle powers up and out, Nick RAMS him, but Kyle rebounds to RUN Nick over! Kyle flexes, the fans cheer, and things speed up. Nick hurdles, Kyle leaps over, then Kyle gets around. Nick headlocks but Ospreay tags in as Kyle powers up and out. Kyle & Ospreay DOUBLE HIP TOSS, then the split the wishbone! Then DOUBLE PENALTY KICKS! Nick scrambles away and tags to Okada! The fans go wild seeing Okada and Ospreay meet again.
Konosuke holds out his hand, but Ospreay tells him choto matte, hold on a moment. Ospreay and Okada circle, tie up, and Okada puts Ospreay on ropes. The ref counts, Okada lets off slowly, but he still gets Ospreay with the fake out. Okada pats Ospreay on the shoulder, but then he still kicks low! Okada headlocks, Ospreay powers up and out, but Okada runs Ospreay over! Ospreay kips right up! The fans fire up, Okada says good one. Bring it in for a hug. Ospreay says no thanks, but Okada kicks him again! Okada whips, Ospreay ducks ‘n’ dodges and RANAS! The fans fire up and Ospreay fires forearms on Okada.
Ospreay brings Okada over, reaches for Kyle, but Konosuke not only snipes the tag, he basically CHOPS Ospreay on the back for it! Ospreay gets mad, Kyle asks what the what, and Konosuke steps in to say Ospreay has to get out. But then Okada shoves Ospreay into Konosuke! Okada tags to Matt, and The Elite all go after the Don Callis Family! They all scoop and SLAM each man, and then they go to the apron. TRIPLE SLINGSHOT SENTONS! And then The Elite all pose together, Rainmaker Pose between the Bucks’ signature flexing! But The Family rises up, and they all CLUB and CHOP in return! The Family whips, The Elite bail out, and they pose more!
So The Family just TRIPLE WRECKING BALL DROPKICK! The fans fire up with “OI! OI! OI!” as we get TRIPLE PLANCHAS! Ospreay high-fives fans, he and The family stand tall, and Fletcher winds up to CHOP Matt! Konosuke SMACKS Okada off the apron, and then throws him into railing as Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Kyle brings Matt around to send into railing, then he high-fives the front row. Konosuke has Okada in the ring, brings him over, and Ospreay CHOP tags! Ospreay ROCKS Okada, brings him around, but Okada RAMS him into the corner! Matt tags in and The Elite mugs Ospreay in the corner! The ref is busy keeping back Kyle as he protests, and Matt brings Ospreay up. Ospreay fires back with forearms! Ospreay ROCKS Matt, whips him to ropes, but Matt reverses. Ospreay handsprings, only for Nick to KICK him! Matt then hits a BIG back suplex! Cover, ONE!! Matt clamps onto Ospreay with a chinlock, but Ospreay fights up.
Matt brings Ospreay around and around to TOSS him out! Ospreay staggers up, but Nick & Okada whip him into steel steps! Nick puts Okada back in the ring while the ref is busy with Konosuke. Matt stomps Ospreay, tags Nick, and then the Bucks coordinate. BACKBREAKER to slingshot LEG DROP! Cover, ONE!! Ospreay is still tougher than all that, but Nick stomps him around. Nick drags Ospreay down to scrape his soles off Ospreay’s face! Ospreay goes to a corner, Nick brings him around to scrape his face on the ropes! The ref reprimands, but Okada tags in. The mugging continues, and Okada snapmares Ospreay to run and basement DROPKICK!
Okada paces, taunts Kyle & Konosuke, then tags Nick. Nick CLAWS Ospreay’s back, CHOPS him, then brings him around again. Dynamite returns as Nick whips Ospreay into the Elite corner. Nick runs up, but into BOOT! Ospreay fire elbows, dodges Nick, then hot tags Kyle! Kyle rallies on Nick with haymakers! Matt gets in to CLAW Kyle’s back! The Bucks double whip, but Kyle ducks the double lariats! He then breaks the second attempt, and then DOUBLE LARIATS The Bucks! The fans are thunderous as The Bucks go to corners. Kyle runs up, forearm SMASH for Matt! Nick runs in, is sent into Matt, then gets a SNAP HALF ‘N’ HALF for his troubles!
Kyle catches Matt for a SNAP HALF ‘N’ HALF! The Bucks are back in the corner, Kyle runs in and GAMANGIRIS Matt! Kyle keeps moving, and he GAMANGIRIS Nick! Kyle suplexes Nick for a BRAINBUSTER! Cover, TWO! Nick survives but the fans rally with Kyle. Kyle brings Nick up to scoop, but Nick slips free to ROLLING ROUNDHOUSE! Nick crawls, hot tag to Okada! And he BLASTS Konosuke just because! Okada grins, Alabama lifts Kyle, but Kyle CLUBS Okada! Okada UPPERCUTS Kyle! And UPPERCUTS! And UPPERCUTS again! Okada runs, but Kyle ducks the lariat to scoop and MICHINOKU DRIVER!
The fans fire up while both men are down! Kyle crawls, but both teammates want in! Konosuke pushes Ospreay aside and takes the hot tag! Konosuke fires forearms on Okada, then ROCKS him! Konosuke whips, Okada reverses, but the TAKESHITA LINE comes outta nowhere! The fans fire up as Konosuke ROCKS Okada in a corner! Okada drops to his knees, Konosuke deadlift suplexes for a BRAINBUSTER! Konosuke climbs up, shouts, “C’MON~!” and the fans fire up! SUPER SENTON! Cover, TWO!! Okada stays in this but Konosuke tells Ospreay now, choto matte. Konosuke lifts but Okada fights with a headlock and elbows.
Okada runs, Konosuke reels him in to back suplex! Okada lands on his feet, kicks low, and DDTS! The Bucks run in to BLAST Ospreay & Kyle! The Elite regroup, and Okada sends Nick at Konosuke. Konosuke TOSSES Nick up and out onto the apron! Okada sends Matt but Konosuke does the same! Okada runs in, but Konosuke dodges! The DOUBLEGIRI hits Okada! Then Kyle & Ospreay BLAST The Bucks! Ospreay whips Okada corner to corner, runs in to ELBOW! Kyle forearm SMASHES! They feed Okada to Konosuke, fireman’s carry, SIOUT F5! Konosuke keeps moving, and the whole Family TRIPLE BASEMENT DROPKICKS! Cover, The Bucks break it!

The graphic even shows, United Empire took this one! Callis lets it be as he and Kyle shake hands and hug it out with Ospreay. Ospreay offers a handshake to Konosuke, but Konosuke just pie faces Ospreay! Callis says hey, it’s alright. They’re all going for gold, it’s all about the money. Crowns up from Ospreay and Kyle, but will they be holding the belts up after next week? Or will it be The Bucks that win this golden doubles in Arthur Ashe Stadium?
My Thoughts:
A great episode of Dynamite as the go-home to Grand Slam, though not without some stumbles. The video package for Bryan VS Nigel had technical difficulties, but it happens, so that is fine. The video itself was great stuff, a bit like what you’d get for a PPV hype, and while they’re keeping us in suspense, you gotta know Bryan VS Nigel 2024 is still happening. The more confusing stuff is in the BCC Trios Championship story. The promo Pac did with the group was labeled “last week,” but Pac and Claudio each said the title match was to be “next week.” But then Alex Marvez says it’s for AEW Grand Slam. Was that backstage promo not recorded last week and just before the show tonight? Details like this matter, TK, so you need to iron them all out before airing these things!
Yuta’s promo was alright, on the level of his promo from Collision last Saturday. It is tricky to play conflicted and scatterbrained without just being awkward, so you can’t get too mad at him. But I do appreciate the bottom line being Yuta will separate business and personal, for now. At the same time, it’d be hilarious and clever if Yuta just let the other team pin him so he could piss off Pac and Claudio while establishing himself as Team Bryan. But another hiccup in the story was that the title match was made an Open Challenge. Pac acted like a #1 contender had been decided, but I guess you can’t get the story with Private Party & Komander if there was another team lined up, another detail that should be ironed out before going live.
I will say that Private Party & Komander stepping up, then getting beat down, was all good story material. Moxley literally hammering Zay’s hand, that brings the title match into question, but I have been wondering where Scorpio Sky is in all this. He had that one promo with Private Party, but Komander ended up their third man. But now that Zay can’t go, they need a new third man, so is this Scorpio’s way back into the story? Here’s hoping so, because Scorpio deserves to get back into a major story, and if his team does win the belts, that adds to Scorpio’s résumé. He’s an inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champion, an AEW TNT Champion, the Trios belts would mean he’s 3/4ths towards an AEW Grand Slam, so why not take advantage of the planets aligning?
Darby also getting his part with Moxley was great, and as he put forward, the winner goes on to WrestleDream in Tacoma, Washington, so I hope Darby finds a way to win out. We got a really good promo segment from The Patriarchy with Kip Sabian, we’ll get a great Fatal 4 Way, and something makes me think Kip’s going to turn and join The Patriarchy, so that they can go for a fully golden faction at some point. Also, good promo from Jack Perry, even inf most of the material was recycled. It would be so wild if Christian’s greed for more belts brought him into a feud with The Scapegoat, and somehow that is the catalyst for Luchasaurus finally breaking from Christian.
Very good tag team match from Yuka & Aminata VS Mariah & Serena. There was some logical dysfunction on the Heel side as everyone wants the title belt. And in the end, Mariah using that belt to throw the match and beat down Yuka of course gives us a title match there. Doesn’t sound like it’ll be for Grand Slam, but it could be for the Dynamite Anniversary. At the same time, Mina Shirakawa has a good promo to say she’s going to show back up on AEW. It feels like they could give us a big moment between Mariah and Mina on the Dynamite Anniversary show, and that sets up Mariah VS Mina for WrestleDream.
Great match from Cassidy VS Jericho with all the natural overbooking. I’m actually a bit surprised Cassidy won, I thought Jericho would win and compel another big stipulation match so Jericho could basically do what he’d been doing with the FTW Championship and use rather unique items to beat up on Cassidy. But who knows, maybe there’s an attack on Collision like there was last Saturday. JD Ink is definitely living the gimmick as he has a LOT of tattoos. Hook of course squashed him easily, and we got a decent encounter between him and The Kingdom. That 10 Man Tag for Collision is wild but I kinda like it.
Speaking of which, awesome match from Ricochet VS Mortos, but we were getting nothing less from those two. Very good promo from Ricochet with Ospreay backstage, with Ricochet kinda turning things around on Ospreay. Their Dynamite Anniversary match is going to be incredible, and honestly could go either way given these other moving parts in Ospreay’s story. The Six Man Tag was a great main event, maybe one spot longer than it needed, but I suppose they wanted to get all the Aussie Open moves in. Great win for Ospreay & The Don Callis Family, but that of course means next week, The Bucks find some sneaky way to win.
For one, they gave us the United Empire graphics, and that seems like a little too soon on purpose. It would’ve been a bigger moment if the graphic was put up after Ospreay & Kyle won, but if that’s not happening, they gotta get that shot in now. As I have been saying on previous Dynamites, it feels like Kyle will take the loss, Callis will get mad, Ospreay will defend Kyle, something else happens, Kyle is kicked out of Don Callis Family so that he and Ospreay really will bring The United Empire into AEW. Plus, what’s going on with Rush? Is he Don Callis Family or not? They kinda stopped that story once Konosuke returned from the G1, and I hope Rush is involved again, should Kyle actually be ejected from The Family.
My Score: 8.9/10

Backstage interview with Wheeler Yuta.
Lexy Nair catches The Decoder as he enters the building now, and she knows this goes without being said, but… We all witnessed the horrific events of All Out and what happened to Bryan Danielson. How is Bryan? Yuta says Bryan… Out of respect for him and his family, Yuta won’t share too much. But Bryan is doing the best he can, given the circumstances. Yuta realizes he forgot his boots, spaces out a bit, but starts again. He hasn’t really talked with any of the other guys… And what about Yuta’s match tonight? Yuta says Anthony Henry is one incredibly talented, incredibly tough competitor.
But one thing Bryan told Yuta, the reason Bryan loves professional wrestling is because in the ring, he feels he’s meant to be there and everything else can be put on pause. So Yuta will try and channel that tonight. Yuta heads on to the locker room, will he be able to clear his mind once he’s in the ring?
Six Man Tag: Mark Briscoe, Kyle O’Reilly & Holo.grm VS The Beast Mortos & The Premier Athletes!
The Conglomeration has had a great week so far, but it could be even bigger given who they’re teaming with tonight! Will the futuristic luchador continue to raise the bar in AEW? Or will he, The Chicken and the Violent Artist all be brought down to earth by Ariya Daivari, Tony Nese and the menacing minotaur?
Oh wait, Mark Sterling of course has to talk. He knows we know who they are, but he’s sure we’re all wondering why they’re teaming with The Beast Mortos. That is because The Conglomeration and Hologram have been thorns in their side for the past two months! They used some of Daivari’s substantial funds to enlist two horns they can stick into The Conglomeration’s side! But to make sure everyone is on the same page, they’re going to do a team building exercise that even the idiots here in Ohio can understand! When Sterling says, “Athletes!” you say, “Rule!” Nothing else, got it? Hands in… “ATHLETES!” “SUCK!”
The teams sort out, and Kyle steps up against Nese. They circle, the fans fire up, and the two tie up. Kyle waistlocks, Nese drop toeholds, and he floats to a facelock. Kyle wrenches out, facelocks, then wrenches to a wristlock. Nese endures, pulls at the tights, but Kyle wrenches again. Nese rolls, wrenches, wristlocks, and YANKS Kyle around. Kyle spins to drop toehold back, and now Kyle facelocks. Kyle wrenches an arm, tags Mark, and they mug Nese. The fans rally as Mark wrenches and YANKS the arm again and again. Nese powers up and puts Mark in the corner, tag to Daivari. The Premier Athletes mug Mark while fans boo.
The ref reprimands, Nese & Daivari let off, and Daivari drags Mark up. Daivari CHOPS Mark, whisp him, but Mark slides under and REDNECK KUNG-FU UPPERCUTS! Then he CHOPS! And ROCKS! And CHOPS again! Mark whips corner to corner, Daivari reverses, but Mark goes up and out to ROCK Daivari! RKF UPPERCUT! Then a BOOT! Mark fires up the fans, then he brings Daivari around. Mark whips, Daivari reverses, but Kyle tags in! Mark wrenches, kicks, and feeds the BOOT! Mark BLASTS Nese, fist-bumps Kyle, and Kyle drags Daivari up. Daivari TOSSES Hologram, but Kyle fires off a strike fest on Daivari! The KNEE sends Daivari out, and then Kyle goes out! FLYING KNEE! Down goes Daivari, but then Nese ROUNDHOUSES and LEG SWEEPS Kyle! Nese runs to FOSBURY FLOP! Down goes Kyle, but Hologram DIVES! Direct hit and the fans are thunderous! Hologram fires up, too, but Mortos TOPE TORNILLOS!! But then Mark has a chair!
The fans are thunderous again as Mark sets the chair up, builds speed, but Sterling snatches the chair away! The fans boo, Mark LOW BLWOS Sterling! And it’s all fine cuz Sterling’s not a competitor in the match! Sterling falls to his knees, so Mark uses him as the launching pad, to FLY out onto everyone else! Wheeler Yuta VS Anthony Henry w/ BEEF!
We saw how disheveled The Decoder is, even one week after the incident at All Out. But he’ll try his best to do what Bryan would do and use wrestling to clear his head. Will he succeed in shaking off this funk? Or will the Saint of Augusta take advantage of Yuta’s unsettled mindset?

Henry brings Yuta up to then snap suplex into barriers! Yuta is all folded up, and the fans boo Henry while Collision goes picture in picture.
The ref checks Yuta, but Yuta manages to turn over. Yuta sits up but Henry brings him into the ring. Henry eggs Yuta on more, stomps his hands, then KICKS him in the chest! Yuta falls back, crawls to a corner, but Henry drags him up again. Henry snapmares, and he clamps on with a straitjacket stretch! Yuta endures, even as Henry digs his knee into his back. The fans rally, Yuta fights up, and Yuta powers up to turn things around! Henry turns them back around and has the straitjacket back on! Yuta endures again, fights, but Henry thrashes him around! Yuta grits his teeth, rises up, and he JAWBREAKERS free as Collision goes to break!
Collision returns as Henry whips Yuta corner to corner. Yuta reverses, then runs up, but Henry pops Yuta up into an AIR RAID CRASH! Cover, TWO! Yuta stays in this, even if his focus is divided. Henry stomps Yuta’s foot, stands on the ankle, and he eggs Yuta on. The fans rally, Henry drags Yuta up and dares him to show us something! Yuta fires body shots, then elbows low! Henry ROCKS Yuta, and Yuta rewinds! It is still rough, but he manages the GERMAN SUPLEX! The fans fire up and Henry flounders. Yuta drags himself up, turns around, takes a swing, but Henry dodges! Henry feints then kicks the legs out, and KNEES Yuta down! Cover, TWO!
Yuta bails out, the ref checks him, but Yuta crawls to a corner. Henry storms out after Yuta, runs in, and CALF KICKS Yuta against railing! Henry then throws Yuta back in, goes up a corner, and DIVING DOUBLE STOMPS!! Cover, TWO!! Yuta survives that coup de grace, and the fans fire up again! Henry storms around, Beef cheering him on, and he drags Yuta up. Henry mocks Yuta being all sad over Bryan not being here. Henry SLAPS Yuta, but the words are what pissed him off! Yuta snarls, and he DECKS Henry!! The fans fire up as Yuta fires off on Henry! The ref has to back Yuta off, but Yuta goes back for more!
Yuta gets the arms, and gives Henry some DRAGON STOMPS! The ref again backs Yuta off, but Yuta is roaring! Henry bails, Yuta runs, and Yuta DIVES! Direct hit into railing! Yuta then whips Henry hard into railing! And then whips him into more railing! Yuta fires hands, Beef is panicked, but Yuta puts Henry in the ring. Then Yuta BOOTS Beef for the hell of it! Yuta goes up the corner, aims at Henry, MISSILE DROPKICK! Down goes Henry and Yuta kips up! The fans fire up with Yuta, and he HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS away on Henry! Backstage interview with Serena Deeb and Queen Aminata.
Lexy Nair notes The Professor has a match tonight against Yuka Sakazaki, and The One True African Woman also has a match tonight against Robyn Renegade. Serena asked for this time with Aminata, the floor is hers. Serena thanks Aminata for her time, it is very kind of her to hear Serena out. Now, Serena wants to continue their discussion from last time. Serena watched Aminata take on Mariah, and it was a great match, Aminata has a lot of potential. But Serena did say that Aminata isn’t ready. However, the offer still stands and Serena is very forgiving. So if Aminata wants to talk more, she knows where to find her.
Aminata tells Serena sorry, but she doesn’t freakin’ have time for this! She has her match to get ready for. Serena tells Queen Aminata to let the Professor show her how it’s done. Serena then turns to camera to address Yuka. The last time Yuka even had thoughts to step into the ring with Serena, her leg broke. Imagine what it’ll be like now that she’s actually taking Serena on tonight. See you later. Serena says that to Aminata as much as she does Yuka. Will there be no mercy in Deeb’s Dojo for the returning Wrestling Magical Girl? Will Deeb’s Dojo be adding a student after tonight? Or will nothing go quite how Serena expects?
Anna Jay speaks.
“I just got back from Japan, wrestling, learning, honing my skills and becoming the best that I can be. It was not easy. I was tired, I was sore, I was beat up. But let me tell you what I learned while I was there. I want more. So much more. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship. Mariah May is due for a very big receipt. And I’ve also never stepped into the ring with Mercedes Mone. So lemme make it easy for all of you. If you wanna see what an evolved Anna Jay has become, just try me.” The Queenslayer is back, will she become The Star of the Show once and for all?
Six Man Tag: Komander & Private Party w/ Alex Abrahantes VS Jon Cruz, Lord Crewe & Ren Jones!
This trio tried to have their first match together last Wednesday Night Dynamite, but they and their opponents got blindsided and brutalized by the new, more maniacal Blackpool Combat Club. Will they have better luck tonight? Or will being in Moxley’s backyard only put them at risk again?

Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness talk about Bryan Danielson.
Given the change to Grand Slam, where Darby Allin now defends his #1 contender status against Jon Moxley, Nigel is of course calling out The American Dragon for that same night. How can Nigel be sure Bryan will even be able to compete? Nigel can’t be sure, but neither can Tony Khan. But when Moxley convinced Darby to put the title shot on the line, he did it out of pure speculation. That is why Nigel told TK that they can’t know Bryan won’t be able to compete. So Nigel figured, if Bryan can show up, and Darby no longer available to face him, Nigel would like to. Nigel will be there, so the question is, will Bryan?
Nigel now talks to Bryan: If Bryan doesn’t show up, it isn’t because of his condition. It is because he fears Nigel McGuinness. Nigel’s said it before, so he’ll just show us what he means. Footage courtesy of ROH, Nigel and Bryan battled for THE ROH World Championship. Nigel narrates that he and Bryan were bitter rivals on equal standing, clashing for the gold in matches that had the wrestling world abuzz. But there has been no one before or since that has beaten Bryan Danielson so convincingly, so brutally, and so thoroughly!
No matter how much success Bryan has had in his career after ROH, even winning the AEW World Championship, Bryan is STILL haunted by the memories of facing Nigel. Even more now 16 YEARS later, Nigel being in the best shape of his life, better than Bryan ever was, and Bryan is a physical wreck! Nigel says no worries, Bryan. Win, lose or draw, Bryan will still be world champion. But let’s not make any bones about it: If Bryan shows up, Nigel will look to end Bryan’s career! Ball’s in Bryan’s court. How will The American Dragon respond with 11 days left before Grand Slam?

Deeb wrenches while Nigel laughs far too much at the joke. Yuka rolls, kips up, and wrenches to wristlock. Deeb rolls, rolls, and slips around to wrench and wristlock. Top Flight Airlines talks backstage.
Leila Grey is so full, they just had a great dinner. But then Action Andretti speaks up. Why’re they going on about the food they just ate? Are they not pissed off like he’s pissed off? Look what they did just this week. Darius & Dante lost out on a chance to become AEW World Tag Team Champions. Lio Rush lost out on the TNT Championship. Action just lost on Rampage! He’s still hot! Lio asks why he’s still on it then. Chill out, it’s just a loss. No, man, it’s not “just” a loss! Look at them! They have so much potential together! They have something that very few have! This is Leila Grey, Top Flight, Lio Rush and Action Andretti, and all they’re talking about is food?!
Action snatches Dante’s burger and CHUCKS it at the production truck! Lio says calm down, Action! But Action looks at the truck and says look! Why aren’t they treated more like The House of Black? Does Top Flight not have wins over The House of Black? Why aren’t they going up against more teams like them and getting more wins? Lio says Action is just talking out his ass, and Leila says yeah, Action needs to calm down. The team needs to get it together, or they’re going nowhere. Action says yeah, they do. Action leaves, but where to? The others follow him, will The Sight to See make the others see his point of view?

My Thoughts:
A great Collision here, with lots of great story build. I even like this literal “Show up, win, leave” attitude Jack Perry is using. He and Daniels have a solid opening match, some real rough bumps taken but both guys were okay, and of course Jack won. But one of these times, someone has to either hijack the bus or surprise Jack from inside the bus. I mean, he just leaves it right there in the parking lot. Really good stuff with Yuta, too, though he kind of awkwardly played being distracted and disheveled. But in the match, he got it right as Henry insulted him and Bryan and then just went berserk. And good promo from Nigel to further call out Bryan, so you know Bryan’s gonna show up.
Great Six Man Tag from Conglomeration with Hologram against Mortos & Premier Athletes. I figured the Faces would win to keep Hologram going strong, but Mortos seems to just be going after anyone and everyone he wants. Ricochet from Dynamite, Hologram here, we’re going to get some great matches out of all of them as Ricochet builds up towards facing Ospreay for the International Championship. And we also got a very good showing from the new trio of Komander & Private Party, the alley-oop into the Gin & Juice is genius, and I feel like we’re definitely getting a Six Man Tag match, Fiesta Privada VS Moxley, Claudio & Pac. Non-title, but could be used as a plot point to compel a title match, and then Yuta has to decide whose side he is on.
Great Six Man Tag from Bang Bang Gang with Cage of Agony, and great win for Bang Bang Gang, they’ll be staying afloat as we wait on this World Trios Championship story to sort out. Very good promo segment from Top Flight Airlines, and while both sides of the argument are valid, I am leaning towards Action’s side. The whole faction could be doing so much more, they just need the opportunities. Though, calling out The House of Black might be a mistake. Good promo from The House of Black in response, calling out Top Flight and The Righteous, that sounds like a very good Trios Triple Threat in the making right there.
Very good stuff in the build of a new Women’s World Championship story here. Aminata and Deeb of course have their own issues brewing, but good revisit of Yuka and Deeb, which was the intended feud months ago before Yuka got hurt. Granted, there were parts of the match between Yuka and Deeb that were a bit rough, maybe it was a lot for Yuka’s return. But great win for Yuka, and then great stuff with her and Mariah, and that tag match made for Dynamite is going to be a lot of fun.
Very intriguing vignette from Stokely Hathaway. While he is still managing Statlander, he might be looking to expand into a full faction, which would be what the tag match videos are about. Good video showing Cassidy and Jericho in action at CMLL’s anniversary show, but Tony Schiavone misspoke, all the AEW guys lost that night. But then good follow-up of continuity both there in CMLL and here tonight with Jericho’s team beating Cassidy down. This adds some last minute heat to the Dynamite match, but I am very sure this all means Cassidy finds a way to win.
And awesome tag match main event from FTR VS GYV, and great win for FTR. I should’ve figured GYV would be sore losers about it, but I did not think The Outrunners would make the save. They are rapidly growing in popularity, even if it’s more for their hilarious gimmick. But between making amends with Infantry on ROH and coming out to help FTR, Outrunners look to be in a lot of 8 Man Tags in the near future. If things go right, they might even be tag team champions before the year is over. But probably ROH tag titles more than AEW tag titles.
My Score: 8.8/10
