Sammy lets off at 4, soaks up the heat from Dallas, then storms up on Moxley to CHOP him in the corner. Moxley storms around, Sammy pushes him to another corner, but fans chant “SAMMY SUCKS!” Sammy tunes that out to climb up and BITE Moxley’s forehead! The ref counts, Sammy lets off, but Moxley avoids the haymaker to CHOP! And CHOP! And CHOP again! Moxley whips corner to corner, Sammy bounces off buckles into a LARIAT! Daniel Garcia is watching this backstage, as Jericho told him to learn from “Sammy-senpai.”

Moxley throws Sammy out of the ring, then goes out to pursue. Tay scurries away and Moxley bows to her. Sammy JUMP KNEES Moxley again! Sammy makes Moxley to take a seat and CHOPS him! Sammy talks trash while he claws at Moxley’s face! Sammy CHOPS Moxley again, but Moxley stands up to lift Sammy! Moxley makes Sammy take a seat across the railing! Sammy throws the chair down, wags his finger, and hurries into the ring. Moxley hits a CUTTER! Fans fire up and Moxley paces around. The ref checks on Moxley but he’s somehow okay to continue. Sammy soaks up the heat, goes out after Moxley, and RAMS him into steel steps! Sammy stalks Moxley, drags him up, and he eggs fans on while he pulls on Moxley’s earring! Sammy is trying to rip Moxley’s earring out! Sammy BITES Moxley’s ear, and the ring is free! Sammy grins with the ring in his teeth, and then he THROWS it to the crowd! Not really a souvenir anyone wants… Sammy then drags Moxley up to show off the bloody earlobe to the camera. Sammy BITES the ear again! Sammy puts Moxley in the ring, and Rampage returns to single picture.

Sammy pushes Moxley around, throws down forearms, then stomps him down. Sammy rains down fists but Moxley pushes him away. Moxley staggers and Sammy KICKS his leg out! Moxley hobbles to the corner, Sammy puts the bad leg around ropes! The ref counts, Sammy lets off at 4, but then he kicks the other leg out! The ref checks Moxley’s ear and Tay mocks Moxley’s pain. The ref counts, Sammy lets off but soaks up the heat as he shows off the blood on his lips. Sammy brings Moxley up but Moxley CHOPS!

Moxley CHOPS and CHOPS but Sammy KICKS the bad leg! Moxley drops, Sammy drags him into a chinlock and he just CLUBS away on Moxley! The ref reprimands but Sammy lets Moxley go. Moxley crawls to ropes, and Sammy CHOKES him! The ref counts, Sammy lets off and argues with the ref, but this is a distraction so Tay can pull on Moxley’s ear! Tay mocks his pain and wipes his own blood on his face before she SLAPS him! Sammy goes out to give Tay a kiss! As if it isn’t nasty enough normally, they have Moxley’s blood on their hands and lips! Speaking of Moxley, he builds speed and DIVES onto Sammy!!

Fans fire up as Moxley and Sammy wipe out, right in front of Tay! Moxley stands back up, Tay hurries away, and Moxley hobbles over to Sammy. Moxley drags Sammy up, puts him in at “OCHO!” and then hurries to fire himself up. Moxley runs corner to corner to clothesline in the corner! Moxley stands up to rain down fists! All the way to “OCHO!” and then TWENTY! Moxley lets off to run, but Sammy shoots around to waistlock. Moxley switches, lifts and GERMAN SUPLEXES, but Sammy lands on his feet! Sammy dodges, RAMS into Moxley at the corner, ENZIGURIS, then he goes up top for a FLYING CUTTER!! Cover, TWO!!

Moxley survives and Sammy is furious! Sammy slashes his throat, drags Moxley up to torture rack, GO TO- NO, Moxley slips free to reel Sammy in! Sammy slips out of the bomb, trips Moxley, and has the legs! Sammy turns Moxley over for the WALLS OF JERICHO! Sammy uses his mentor’s move, but Moxley endures! Moxley crawls, reaches out, but Sammy drags him away from the ropes! Fans rally, Tay shouts for Moxley to tap but he refuses! Moxley fights up, tucks and rolls, and he throws hands from below! Sammy loses his grip and Moxley BOOTS Sammy down! Tay is freaking out while Sammy is dazed!

Moxley and Sammy slowly rise as fans rally up. Sammy throws a forearm, Moxley throws it back. The forearms go back and forth, faster and faster, but Sammy gets the edge! Sammy goes up the corner, fans cheer and jeer, but Sammy says he’s loco! SWANTON BOMB through the table!! Fans lose their minds as Sammy and Moxley are both down in the wreckage! Evil Uno wants Hangman to think about this but he doesn’t care, he’s storming down that ramp! Moxley meets him halfway and the brawl is on!! They throw haymakers, fans are thunderous as Hangman gets the edge! Hangman puts Moxley in the ring and fans are ready for “COWBOY SH*T! But security stop Hangman from getting at Moxley! Hangman kicks them all away, slingshots, BUCKSHOT hits a security guard!

Fans fire up as Hangman pursues Moxley on the outside, and LARIATS him into the crowd! Security and referees, and even the rest of the Dark Order, drag Hangman away! Hangman wants to fight the Maniac, and so does Moxley! How long will they have to wait for this one to be resolved?

Saraya speaks on Hayter VS Shida.

The Revolution says, “Both of these women are AEW Women’s Champions. I wanna watch very closely, cuz I’m coming for that championship.” Saraya also tells Britt Baker, “Last week, you gave me some tickets.” Saraya can either be a fan at the Kia Forum on January 11th, or she can get in the ring for a tag match with Britt & Hayter. Those two “have been nothing but menaces backstage. I have such a plethora of talent to choose from, and we’re coming for you.” So then, who is joining Saraya against “The Pillar & The Killer?” We’ll just have to wait and see in 2023.

Rampage returns with FTR in the ring.

Fans fire up for Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood, and they have the mics. Cash says, “Last week kinda sucked, I won’t lie. And it’s probably not for the reasons you think. It’s not just because we lost the AEW Tag Team title match. It’s not just because we lost the ROH Tag Team titles. It’s not just because Dax broke his ass bone.” Dax even pulls his pants down enough to show where it broke! Cash wasn’t kidding. But what sucked was that, on top of all that, Cash & Dax feel like they let the fans down. Fans boo because that’s the furthest from the truth! But FTR says they hate feeling like that, because all year, the fans have lifted them up!

Cash says the fans made 2022 the best year of their careers, and one of the best years of Cash’s life! And FTR owes the fans eternally for that. Fans chant, “You Deserve It!” in reference to everything great they got to do this year. FTR thanks the fans for that, and Cash says this has been a legacy year for them, and hopes that this is a legacy they can be proud of. But… There are a couple kids with daddy issues trying to get FTR’s attention. Austin & Colten Gunn, this is for you: “You say you’re gonna kill our legacy, but I promise you, if anybody is gonna kill our legacy, it sure as HELL not gonna be a couple of Dumbass Boys!”

Dax says, “Saturday night at Final Battle, I brought my family with me, and uh, after I came to the back, and I was all beaten up and bloodied, I saw my daughter run up to me. And I thought she was gonna say, ‘Daddy, that was a great match,’ or, ‘How’re you doing?’ I was expecting that, and I didn’t hear that. She said, ‘Daddy, those people kinda like you.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, baby, they do kinda like me.’ And she looked at me and she said, ‘Why?’ And I was like, damn… That hurt right in the heart.” But then Dax got to thinking about it, and he wondered, “Yeah, why? Why do y’all like us?” Dax isn’t sure he gets it.

Fans cheer to show they like him, but Dax says he does know this: ever since he was 8 years old, pro-wrestling is all he’s ever wanted to do. And he knows that since he was 8 years old, he’s wanted to make the people feel the love and the passion he has for pro-wrestling. Fans cheer for that! Saturday night, Final Battle, that was FTR’s opportunity to make fans feel a certain way. Win, lose or draw, FTR was gonna make fans feel. And then Austin & Colten ruined that. This Wednesday on Dynamite, FTR will do to them what Daddy Ass should’ve done a long time ago. FTR is gonna tan their hides! Just kidding, they’re gonna whoop some ass! #TopGuysOut!

The UNDEFEATED AEW TBS Champion tells The Baddies that they did just what she said they would. But Leila Grey shows him something. It’s footage of Red Velvet “looking salty.” Why? Is she gonna get with it or get lost? Leila helps Jade fix her hair, and Velvet rolls her eyes behind Jade’s back. Is there cracks in the foundation of this faction? Jade continues on to tell Bow Wow that the next time he wants to interject himself into her business, her lawyer, Mark Sterling will be in contact. Will Bow Wow stop barking up the wrong tree? Or is he going to invoke the wrath of #ThatBitch?

The Doctor prepares for her tag team match alongside the AEW Women’s World Champion, but she also looks to settle things with one young and hungry competitor. Will Britt leave Skye feeling gloomy? Or will Skye upset the Face of the AEW Women’s Division?

Britt pushes up for pressure but Skye shifts around. Britt blocks with a facelock then underhooks the arms for a BUTTERFLY SUPLEX! Cover, ONE! Britt CLUBS Skye for that, then brings Skye up again. Skye blocks the suplex, wrenches out and slips around to then spin and arm-drag Britt away! Britt stands back up, runs in at Skye, but Skye sidesteps and follows. Skye blocks Britt’s hip toss to hit another arm-drag, into a lateral press! TWO!

Jim Ross has a sit-down interview with Preston Vance.

Good ol’ JR says there’s a lot of “sensitive ground” to cover here. The former Number 10 turned his back on his “family,” as it were, in The Dark Order. How does he justify this? Vance will answer that by asking JR a question: “Who’s your boss in AEW?” Well, Tony Khan, of course. Then it’s not some ten year old kid? No. Cool, because now, neither is Vance’s. Everyone thinks Vance is the bad guy for turning on his “family,” but they’re not his brothers. He was hand-picked by the late Mr. Brodie Lee. None of those other guys were! He was a college athlete, none of those guys are on the same level as him!

Vance’s real brothers in AEW are Rush, Jose, and the rest of La Faccion Ingobernable. They all see the same potential that Mr. Brodie Lee saw in him. Then what about Brodie Lee Jr, aka Negative One? He lost his father, and Vance has only compounded his grieving by doing this. Vance says this is one thing they can agree one: no kid should ever have to go through that. What that kid went through the last couple years, no one should ever feel that. But over the span of these two years, Negative One “has turned into a snot-nosed, spoiled brat. It is what it is. If I have one message to give to Little Brodie, it’s hey kid, time to grow up.”

Number 10 no more, Vance leaves the interview at that. But are things truly over between him and the Dark Order?

Wardlow VS Exodus Prime!

He may no longer be AEW TNT Champion after Samoa Joe’s betrayal, but this is still Wardlow’s World! Will the Maestro of Mayhem be inspired to write new movements in the Powerbomb Symphony until he gets his 1v1 rematch with Joe?

The bell rings and Wardlow circles with Prime. Fans rally for “WARD~LOW! WARD~LOW!” while Prime kisses his own biceps. Prime and Wardlow tie up, Prime gets around and UPPERCUTS! And forearms! And uppercuts again! Then he HEADBUTTS! But Wardlow stays standing, and just snarls while Prime talks himself up. Prime turns around to see Wardlow glaring at him, and then Wardlow HEADBUTTS! Wardlow winds up and LARIATS Prime inside-out! Fans fire up and Wardlow brings Prime up! Wardlow reels Prime in, for the POWERBOMB! Fans fire up and want the encore!

Wardlow conducts the chorus of “ONE MORE TIME! ONE MORE TIME!” and then he drags Prime back up! SECOND POWERBOMB! Prime tumbles and Wardlow is feeling it! The fans fire up as Wardlow gets Prime up again, THIRD POWERBOMB, then the roll through to the FOURTH POWERBOMB!! Cover, Wardlow wins!

Wardlow wins but he wants to talk! “JOE! You said I can wait my turn! I say I’ve waited too! Damn! Long!! And I’m not waiting another second! Bring your ass out here so I can whoop it all over Dallas!” But Joe is on the tron, both AEW TNT and ROH TV Championships on his shoulder. Joe mocks the “WARD~LOW!” chant, then says, “Who are you to dictate anything to the King of Television? But despite your insolence, you need to understand that I set the conditions. So I offer you the King’s Terms. I will NOT defend my championship against you here tonight, I will not defend my championship next week in San Antonio.

“As a matter of fact, I hope I never defend a championship in this godawful state ever again!” Fans boo, you don’t mess with Texas! But Joe says he will be a gracious king and grant Wardlow clemency. In fact, he hopes Wardlow has the merriest of Christmases. Then on December 28th, in Colorado, he will give Wardlow everything he wants! “And despite how much you’ve lied to yourself, huh, Wardlow, you will be found wanting. The King has spoken.” Wardlow smirks as Joe at least gives him that opportunity he wants. What will happen when these two titans collide for New Year’s Smash?

Mark Henry interviews tonight’s main eventers.

The World’s Strongest Man says Trent Seven joined forces with Kip Sabian in stomping down Orange Cassidy. Why? Seven says the real question is, “How lucky are we all that there are direct flights straight from Moustache Mountain all the way here to Dallas?” And as far as last week goes- Kip has Seven stop there. Kip says after a rocky start, Seven here saw sense! “He embraced the change.” It was once said, “You cannot climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pockets.” And Cassidy, well, he proved that saying wrong. But those same hands were given opportunity after opportunity, and that doesn’t sit well with Kip’s crew.

Butcher says he has been “waiting all week for someone to dial 1-800-See-Ya.” Butcher wonders why “Best Crumbs” haven’t called. Butcher is sick of talking, he wants to fight, cuz he doesn’t like any of them! And Blade says, “Newsflash, slick! You know what we’re gonna do? We’re gonna slice, we’re gonna dice, we’re gonna split ya open, we’re gonna watch you spill your guts!” Even Seven winces. Mark says it looks like there’s been enough talk. But Dustin says hold on, their side didn’t get to say anything. Chuck Taylor puts out “See Ya” isn’t enough for a real phone number. Trent Beretta says those are letters anyway.

Dustin says now they’re done. Then it’s time for the main event! Will the #NaturalBestFriends get back at the #SuperBadSuperSquad for the extracurriculars next week? Or will Kip, the mercenaries and the Man from Moustache Mountain make minced meat out of all of them?

Fans rally for Trent as Trent and Trent say they’re THE Trent. Seven CHOPS, Beretta forearms! Seven and Beretta forearm back and forth while fans cheer for “TRENT! TRENT! TRENT!” Seven CHOPS again, and CHOPS again, and CHOPS again! Beretta wobbles, but he fires up! Beretta shouts, “I’M TRENT!!” And he CHOPS, ROCKS, repeat! Trent winds up but Seven blocks the superkick! Bop up, BANG for Trent! Then ripcord, but Trent ducks and runs, DOUBLE LARIATS take the Trents out!

Fans rally, Butcher & Blade rush in but Dustin and Chuckie T intercept! They brawl with forearms, Chuck throws Butcher out while Dustin stomps Blade. Cassidy slowly steps in but so does Kip. The ref catches Cassidy’s sunglasses, Kip rushes in but Cassidy trips Kip! Kip kicks Cassidy away, things speed up, Kip hurdles but Cassidy leaps! Cassidy arm-drags Kip out to kip up! Fans fire up as Cassidy puts his hands in his pockets! But of course, the Superbad Girls, Penelope Ford & The Bunny step up to shield Kip. Cassidy stops in his tracks, and Butcher CLOBBERS him! Seven crawls over and tags in Blade. Blade drags Beretta up, bumps him off buckles, then ROCKS him with a haymaker! Tag to Butcher, they mug Beretta with DOUBLE HEADBUTTS! Tag to Kip and Kip joins in on a DOUBLE HEADBUTT! Kip takes a bit of damage himself, though, and has to tag Blade back in. Blade drags Trent up to ROCK him with a forearm! Butcher drags Cassidy up, bumps him off buckles, then drags him back up to whip him hard into the Superbad corner! Tag to Kip and he drags Cassidy up.

Kip cravats, snapmares, and then lines up the shot. He mocks Cassidy’s “devastating” kicks! Kip smirks as he “kicks” Cassidy, but then Cassidy blocks one! Kip stomps away on Cassidy for real for ruining the fun! Kip drags Cassidy up, bumps him off buckles, and tags Blade. Blade drags Cassidy up to CHOP! Cassidy staggers away but Blade boots him down. Blade CHOKES Cassidy on the ropes, Bunny AND Ford are there to talk trash, but Blade lets off as the ref counts. The ref reprimands everyone, Danhausen also admonishes them, but Blade drags Cassidy up. Blade reels Cassidy in, says he’s gonna bring Cassidy down, but STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE hits!

Cassidy crawls, Blade anchors a foot, but Cassidy fights up. Rampage returns to single picture as Cassidy kicks Blade away! Hot tags to Seven and Dustin! The Natural rallies on Seven with big shoulders and clotheslines! Dustin whips Seven, Seven reverses but Dustin says “Not today!” and he UPPERCUTS the back drop away! Blade runs in, into a POWERSLAM! Butcher runs in, into a POWERSLAM! Kip runs in, into a POWERSLAM! Seven leaps, but Dustin moves, Seven SPLASHES Kip by accident! Dustin fires up and so does Dallas! Dustin drags Seven up to JAB, JAB, JAB, then flip, flop, fly, dirty birds and a BIONIC ELBOW! Cover, the mercs break it!

Cassidy kicks Butcher, but he gets mugged! The mercs double whip, but Cassidy ducks under and comes back, DOUBLE- NO, the rana is blocked! Butcher & Blade DRAG THE LAKE! But Beretta is up top to DOUBLE MISSILE DROPKICK the mercs! Fans fire up and Beretta builds speed, but Chuck stops him! TO HUG!! You GOT to give the people what they want! And then Best Friends both build speed, to DOUBLE FLY!! Direct hit with tope conjilos on Seven and the mercs! Fans fire up but Kip springboards, ARABIAN PRESS! He takes down the Best Friends, but Dustin CANNONBALLS onto Kip and the mercs!

Fans are thunderous as Chuck puts Kip in! Cassidy throws his armband off but Ford distracts the ref! Bunny hops into the ring and she has an evil smile on her face, but Cassidy drops without being touched! He fakes being hit low! Bunny defends her innocence, she didn’t do anything! But then Ford steps in, only for Danhausen to intercept! He… also drops like he got hit low! The ref thinks Ford did something now Ford also defends her innocence, but the ref still EJECTS them! The Superbad Girls throw a fit! Danhausen congratulates the ref on a good decision, but now the ref wonders why Danhausen was in the ring to begin with.

Kip turns Danhausen around! DICK PUNCH!!! But Cassidy runs in, only for Kip to dodge the Orange Punch! Pop-up KNEE and a HAYMAKER! Fans boo but Kip runs into a SEXY CHUCKIE KNEE! Chuck runs at Seven but is sent up and out! Beretta back elbows Seven in the corner! Beretta hoists Seven up, Chuck reels Blade and Butcher in on the outside! COMPLETE SHOT DDT COMBO to the floor for the mercs! Beretta has Seven up top now, climbs up, but Seven turns it around into SUPER EMERALD FLOSION!! Cover, Dustin breaks it in time!! Dallas is thunderous and the Trents crawl! Seven and Beretta crawl, hot tags to Dustin and Kip!

Dustin sees the springboard and hits an atomic drop! Dustin runs to hit a DESTROYER!! Kip staggers about and fans fire up! Dustin sets Kip’s legs in the ropes! Fans know what’s coming but the ref says he can’t just do this! Cassidy strolls in to “kick” away at Kip’s groin! Okay, he’s just hitting the buckle, but still, the ref has to stop him before he kicks for real. The ref is busy with Cassidy, Dustin hits SHATTERED DREAMS!! Seven runs in, but Dustin sends him into Sabian! ORANGE PUNCH for Seven! BULLDOG on top of it!! Cover, Natural Best Friends win!!

A huge win for the Texas legend and his new Best Friends! Will this victory bring Dustin something big for the holidays?

My Thoughts:

Another great Rampage, with some pretty good set-ups for the following weeks. Moxley VS Sammy was a great opener, and leave it to Moxley to find another way to bleed. Moxley winning makes sense as it adds to the story for Sammy and Garcia. Garcia might question why he’s learning from Sammy when Sammy has been losing, too. Moxley and Hangman brawling was a natural move, too. With the “Hangman isn’t cleared” angle to the story, I have a feeling, and am kind of looking forward to seeing, an “Unsanctioned” Match between them. They can really go all out and it won’t hurt either guy in the rankings since Unsanctioned means it won’t count on the record.

Good promo from Saraya to both hype up Hayter VS Shida and her own match with Britt & Hayter in January. Saraya says there’s a lot of people to choose from, but I still feel like Toni Storm makes the obvious but also right choice given the story. If not Toni, then maybe it’ll be Shida, assuming Britt helps Hayter win or something. Britt VS Skye was a good match but of course Britt has Rebel and Hayter help her here and there. Shida fighting Britt and Rebel off Skye was good stuff, as was the stare down between Shida and Hayter. And good promo from The Baddies. If Velvet isn’t feeling Jade’s inflated ego, I kinda hope she helps Kiera Hogan win the title off Jade. Bow Wow might even be part of that finish, where he distracts the ref and Velvet attacks Jade so Kiera can capitalize.

Good promo from FTR to relate how they felt after Final Battle, and to further call out Austin & Colten before Dynamite’s grudge match. Good win for Wardlow but of course he was going to win. He did a good job calling out Samoa Joe, Joe did a great job responding, and their match for New Year’s Smash will be some awesome stuff. I can’t be sure who wins that, it could go either way. But Joe only just got started as “The King of Television,” so it’d be a shame if that stopped now. And great promo from Vance to relate the motivation of his Heel turn. He’s obviously going to face The Dark Order one member at a time, and that can help bring out Vance’s storytelling chops.

Great pre-main-event promo, but of course it was great because Best Friends are hilarious. It’s probably why they keep getting to do stuff on Rampage. Great 8 Man Tag and I love that they played up the Battle of Trents in a similar way to the Battle of Adams when we got Page VS Cole. Great win for the Faces, and I’d love to see things split off into separate matches, but I still think Dustin and Kip face of 1v1 to name a contender to the All-Atlantic Championship. Honestly, Dustin VS Seven 1v1 would be some awesome stuff, too.
