Samoa Joe is here!

Savannah, Georgia fires up as the AEW World Champion makes his way to the ring, fresh off his win over Hook in a spectacular showdown. He gets the mic to say, “Hello, Savannah. My name is Samoa Joe, and I stand here before you your undisputed, undeniable AEW World Champion. And tonight is a night of celebration, because you see, a new championship endeavor we embark upon today. No more will opportunities be given. No, tonight, they must be earned. That’s why all your favorite AEW superstars are gonna come out here this ring, they’re gonna battle tooth and nail, all for an opporutnity at my championship gold.”

The fans cheer, and Joe says while he can appreciate ambition, he comes with warning. They think they’re winning an opportunity at a title, but it’s really an opportunity to have the worst night of their lives. Anyone that steps to Joe will come into this ring, and he’ll do them like he did Hook! He’ll beat them down unmerciful, strangle them unconscious, and take everything- WAIT! Here comes Hook! The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil doesn’t like being called out after putting up his best, and he gets in the ring with mic in hand. The fans duel but Hook tells Joe, “Last week, you won, I lost.” Then he shakes hands with Joe.

But then Hook pulls Joe in to say that he doesn’t know where, and he doesn’t know when, but he will see Joe again. Fans like the sound of that, but Joe says he bets they will. Now, if Hook will excuse Joe, Joe is here to survey the field, so it is back of the line for Hook. Security, please escort this unworthy opponent out of Joe’s ring. Fans boo as Joe steps away and security steps in. Hook SAYANAGIS one, EXPLODERS another, and then has the third in REDRUM!! Bigger guards get in, Hook lets off and leaves. As close as Hook came to getting Joe the first time around, will he make good on his promise to go again?

As for Joe, he joins commentary to not just watch the first match of the night, but to also complain about Hook pulling that stunt. “Who raised that animal in there?” Taz chuckles and says Joe found out last week. For now, will Joe be able to keep his cool as we get ready for some #CowboyShid?

Backstage interview with Orange Cassidy.

Renee Paquette says it is always a pleasure to see Freshly Squeezed, and she wants to pick his brain a bit. We have not heard from Cassidy since Roderick Strong made his bold declaration of facing Cassidy for the AEW International Championship at Revolution. What’s his reaction? Uh, okay. He will wrestle Roddy for the title at Revolution. On March 3rd, which is like… six weeks away? Cassidy wanted to wrestle Roddy last week, but Roddy wanted to wait, and that’s fine. But Cassidy isn’t gonna wait, he’ll keep doing what he’s doing, and that’s wrestling.

Cassidy says he asked Tony Khan to get his friends, his enemies, and his frenemies together in a match on Rampage. The winner of that will wrestle Cassidy on Collision for the title. So uh, guess Tony’s gonna do it. Well, okay, thank you so much. Thank you, Renee. Gotta go now, Trent’s gonna wrestle Wardlow. You see that Wardlow guy? He’s big. Cassidy heads out, but who will be heading for a big title opportunity this weekend?

The Young Bucks arrive backstage.

Matt & Nick Jackson are given tonight’s show schedule, and Nick says about time. Matt says, “Banger alert!” as he points to a match. He can’t wait to see that one. Nick agrees, looks like a good show tonight. Alex Marvez walks over and asks for a quick word. Their interview last week with Renee really got a ton of buzz. So his question for them is, what is their first plan of action now as EVPs? First plan of action? Well, how about Alex’s plan to be a bit more respectful to them. Call them by their passport names, Nicholas & Matthew Jackson.

Matthew says, “As the last two remaining, surviving EVPs, you’re right, there’s chatter, there’s buzz!” But in case you hadn’t heard, backstage morale is through the roof! They fixed the catering problem. Did Alex have anything? It was delicious, right? You’re welcome. But they’re gonna make sure this show is run smoothly and is a good one. Alright, let’s go. Matt & Nick then see Top Flight walk in. Did they get in here late? No, Darius & Dante have been here since like 1 PM. But then why aren’t they in gear? And where are their credentials? What? You guys were the ones that hired them. Nick says yeah, they do like Top Flight, but next time, it’ll be a fine.

What? Matt says they’re just kidding around, c’mon! Nick & Matt fist bump Dante & Darius, and then Matt says he and Nick are freakin’ killing it at bosses. Well, be that as it may, will The Bucks keep level heads wielding so much power?

BREAKING NEWS for Collision!

Not to be outdone by his greatest rival, Minoru Suzuki, we are getting the AEW debut of Yuji Nagata!! He is going to take on Bryan Danielson this Saturday, will Blue Justice slay the American Dragon?

Adam “Edge” Copeland speaks.

“I started this Cope Open for a few reasons. One: To prove to Christian Cage what I’ve always told him, is that I’m just better. And now someone has stepped up. Man, I get goosebumps just thinking about it. You ask any wrestling fan five years ago if they ever expected that they’d see this match. Savannah, Dynamite, the Rated R Superstar VS Minoru Suzuki. We are gonna beat the hell out of each other. Two grizzly, gnarled, evil bastards, and I can’t wait. Let me sum this match up in three words for all of you: Grit Your Teeth.”

Renee Paquette is on stage.

And she welcomes out The Virtuosa, Deonna Purrazzo! Fans cheer as Deonna makes her entrance, and she takes a seat with Renee on stage. And now, our AEW Women’s Champion, Toni Storm! “Timeless” Toni makes her way out, Luther holding the belt and Mariah May applauding. Toni also takes a seat, then takes the belt from Luther. Wow, how’re we getting both color and black ‘n’ white at the same time? Anyway, Renee says this has been brewing for weeks now. Ever since Deonna came to AEW, she has had her sights set on the world title while also getting some impressive wins.

Now, Toni said she’d meet Deonna face to face, so while they have this time, perhaps Deonna- Toni interrupts and says yes, she will speak first. She has a massage booked for 11 tonight. “Deonna, I believe you were recently body shamed. Which I think is ridiculous! Because there’s so much more to shame about you! Yes, we do have history. But that doesn’t mean you can just waltz in here and use our past friendship to get yourself a title shot. I have had many friends. And all of them less talented than me! You may be the greatest technical wrestler in the world today, but let me make thing clear: If you step into that ring, with me, I will twist your lips so hard you will need an epidural!”

Fans fire up hearing that! Deonna says this is insane. She didn’t come here to make friends. She came to become THE AEW Women’s World Champion! Fans cheer that, too! Deonna says it just so happens that the champion used to be a friend. But Deonna has no problems earning her title opportunity, and winning arm by arm. This isn’t the Toni Storm that Deonna wants to wrestle! “This delusional sham.” Deonna wants the Toni that lived on dojo floors with her, that moved to America and lived in Deonna’s home. “That Toni Storm was arguably one of the best in the world. And that Toni Storm is the one I wanna beat for the AEW Women’s World Championship.”

So Deonna is begging, please, dig down deep and find that version of Toni Storm. And if she needs any further reminder, just take a look at your ankle. Deonna’s pretty sure it looks a lot like hers. Deonna then shows off an ankle tattoo they both have! Deonna says Toni might have everyone here fooled, but not her. Toni says, “Y’know what, Deonna? You can take your little ta-too, and blow it right out of your bunghole!!” Toni throws her mic at Deonna, so Deonna throws a SHOE at Toni!! Fans fire up as now we return to full color, and Deonna gets an arm! FUJIWARA!! Mariah drags Toni to safety, but then Deonna runs up!

Mariah dodges, the BOOT hits Luther! The butler’s catching strays! Mariah hurries to get Toni away, but Deonna holds up the belt! Fans cheer, but will this be how it goes at Revolution?

Jon Moxley speaks.

“Since you first heard the words, ‘Blackpool Combat Club,’ do you know how many matches we’ve won? How many championships? I don’t keep track, but trust me, it is a lot. Y’know how many victory parties we’ve had? Zero. See, we don’t spend a lot of time patting each other on the back, having victory parties. Y’know why? We don’t have the time. Cuz there’s always another match around the corner, there’s always a bigger threat, a bigger challenge, a bigger mountain to climb around the corner, and that’s what it takes to be the best. The commitment to be the best, to be elite. Know what ‘elite’ means? It’s the name of the company, right? Maybe look it up in a dictionary.

“A lot of people come here, and they don’t know what it means from the start, they all just think it’s a big party. The party’s over. And 2024, personally, I will maim and pulverize and torture anybody who can’t get with the program and keep up. Every time I step into that ring, I will give everything of myself. When I step into the ring in Savannah Georgia this Friday night, I will cut my heart out and leave it in the middle of the mat and bleed out if I have to if that’s what it takes to give every single bit of my heart and soul to the people who paid their hard-earned money for what is supposed to be the best wrestling show in the world. And I’m gonna do it every single time.”

Johnny TV & Taya Valkyrie speak.

La Wera Loca wants to reintroduce them to the world. She is Taya Valkyrie and this is Johnny TV, “The Most TV-Ready Couple in AEW.” Now they’ve been watching, and some things are really starting to piss her off! That one girl wanting to just jump to the front of the line! No buts, no cuts, no coconuts! Taya is not one of these other “dumb girlies” who doesn’t know who The Virtuosa is, so she is challenging Deonna to a match, live on Dynamite next week in New Orleans. And after that, Deonna can get to the back of the line! Johnny & Taya kiss as we cut away, will Taya earn her own spot at Revolution?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

He knows we know that Revolution on March 3rd is drawing near, and his guests have a lot to talk about. One of the best teams AEW has ever seen, it is Darby Allin and STIIIIING~! The fans fire up as The Relentless Icons make their way down to the ring and join Schiavone. Darby wants to take a few seconds to talk about some things. Whenever he does interviews, whether on the radio or on TV, everyone always asks, “What’s it like to team with The Icon, Sting?”  And also, maybe Darby should slow down in the ring so he doesn’t retire before Sting does. Darby says he won’t worry about that stuff. Instead, he wants to speak on the impact Sting has had on Darby’s career.

Darby says it didn’t just start in 2020 in AEW, no. This goes back to 2015, Darby’s first year of pro-wrestling. Darby saw Sting’s career seemingly end early from a neck injury. Darby wondered, “What if that was me? What if my life’s work was cut short?” And all these years later, Darby heard Sting was coming to AEW, and he wasn’t sure what that really meant. We thought Sting was never going to wrestle again. Darby is sure Sting remembers this next part. Darby flew to Sting’s house in Texas because he heard Sting had a wrestling ring in his garage. They were going around in the ring, and within five minutes, what’d Darby say to Sting?

Darby looked Sting dead in his eyes, and he told Sting, “You still got it.” And he wasn’t lying to Sting, either. Wait, Matt & Nick are watchin this from gorilla, and they don’t seem to like this. Matt says something to somebody in the headset, but Darby says he told Sting to get back in the ring and finish his career on his own terms! And just look at them now! 27-0 as a team! UNDEFEATED! And the rankings are back, so uh, that should put them clearly in the top spot as #1 contenders to Ricky Starks & Big Bill. The fans like the sound of that! “And we’d be kinda dumbasses not to take the opportunity.”

Darby says like all those years ago in Texas, he wants to say this to Sting eye-to-eye one more time: “You still got it.” Darby says the only difference here is, Darby’s not alone. He is sure Savannah agrees, “You still got it.” And the fans do indeed chant, “You Still Got It!” Sting hears the fans, so Darby says, “What do you say?” Does Sting wanna end his career as AEW World Tag Team Champions? Darby hands the mic over, fans “WOO~” for Sting and chant his name. Sting says, “Alright, Savannah. I’m all in.” Fans cheer that! Darby and Sting hug it out, and then Sting howls into the night! The Relentless Icons are coming for the titles, will Sting retire with gold around his waist?

Ricky Starks & “Big Bill” Morrissey speak.

The Human Skyscraper says, “Sting & Darby Allin. Thank you, thank you so much, for finally having the respect to address us by name.” Starks adds, “Thank God.” Bill continues to thank Darby & Sting for finally having the respect to address them as THE AEW World Tag Team Champions. And as far as the challenge goes for a match for these titles, Bill & Starks accept. Starks says it is fitting. Sting started his AEW career going against Starks and a tag partner, in his first match back after six years. And it is very fitting that now, Starks and the best partner he’s ever had will END Sting’s AEW career.

Starks says Sting ain’t making it to Revolution, man, so you might as well pay their respects right now. Lay down so Starks & Bill can walk right over you and Darby. Starks is ready, but will he and Bill be in for an absolute surprise?

AEW World Trios Championships: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn VS The Mogul Embassy!

As of Collision last Saturday, the Bang Bang Scissor Gang is a thing, as indicated by how Jay White & The Gunns make their entrances first, showing off the ROH World Six Man Tag titles. And then here come the AEW World Trios Champions, so “Yo! Listen!” Caster has his diss track ready! “It’s The Nigerian Scammer, Prince Nana! Please stop sendin’ emails to my mama! Your little crown only cost four dolla, buy a pair of shoes for the dude from Moana! Brian Cage realizin’ the dream! For once you’re not the most generic guy on the team! Y’see that your whole entire thing gettin’ rearranged. You are now rockin’ with the Bang Bang Scissor Gang!”

Bowens takes the mic to say, “SAAAVANNAAAAAAH~ The Acclaimed have arrived! Scissor me, Daddy Ass~!” And he does! Platinum Max, the Five Tool Player & Billy Gunn are ready, will the Scissor World Tour continue into 2024?

The trios sort out, Caster starts against The Machine and they circle. They tie up, Cage powers Caster to a corner, then RAMS into him! And RAMS again! The ref counts, Cage wrenches to whip corner to corner, but Caster goes up and over. Caster then ducks ‘n’ dodges, hurdles then slips free of a scoop to DROPKICK! Cage stays up so Caster arm-drags him! Caster clamps onto the arm and the fans rally up. Cage fights up, Caster wrenches and tags Bowens. Bowens YANKS the bad arm, then CHOPS! And CHOPS! Cage swings, Bowens dodges, kicks low and fires off forearms and elbows! Bowens CLUBS Cage down then shouts, “EVERYONE! LOVES! THE ACCLAIMED!”

But Cage TOSSES Bowens to a corner! Cage clotheslines, tags Toa Liona, and Liona RAMS into Bowens again and again! Bishop Kaun tags in, he and Liona stomp away! The ref reprimands, Cage tags back in and he stomps Bowens now. Cage shouts, “Who better than Cage, huh?” But Bowens fires off forearms on everyone! HOTSHOT for Liona, then a BOOT for Cage! Bowens hurries but Cage gets a leg, only for Bowens to ENZIGIRI! But then The Gates YANK Billy and Caster down! Liona HEADBUTTS Billy down and Kaun sends Caster into steel steps! Kaun runs up to knee Bowens, then whips him to a corner.

Bowens boots but Kaun blocks. Kaun puts Bowens on the apron, but Bowens ROCKS Kaun! Nana grabs at a leg but Bowens kicks him away. But then Liona BLASTS Bowens off the apron! Bowens crash lands in front of the desk, Cage hauls him up, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Cage brings Bowens around to whip him into railing! Bowens staggers and Cage puts him back in. Kaun covers, TWO! Kaun facelocks Bowens, drags him over, and CHOPS! Tag to Cage, Cage hauls Bowens up, and Cage snap suplexes! Cage runs to drop a leg, brother! Cover, TWO! Cage looms over Bowens, taunts the scissor fingers, then whips. Bowens blocks but Cage kicks low! Cage whips Bowens into the Embassy corner, tags Liona, and then Cage sends Liona in to SPLASH! Lions lets Bowens flop over, then Liona drags Bowens back up. Bowens throws body shots but Liona kicks low! Liona CLUBS Bowens down, then tags Cage.

Cage CHOKES Bowens on ropes, the ref reprimands, and Cage lets off. Nana talks trash and Kaun gets a cheap shot in! Cage drags Bowens from ropes to drop a knee on Bowens’ head! Cage then drags Bowens up, but Bowens fires forearms and CHOPS! But Cage SOBATS, scoops and SLAMS! Cage flexes, then he drags Bowens up. Cage bumps Bowens off buckles, CHOPS him, and Dynamite returns to single picture. Cage ROCKS Bowens, whips him corner to corner, then runs in, but into a BOOT! Bowens goes up, leaps, FLYING BLOCKBUSTER! Fans fire up as Bowens and Cage crawl! Hot tag to Liona and he drags Bowens away!

Liona fireman’s carries, Bowens slips free to ROLLING ELBOW! Both men wobble, but Liona tags Kaun! Kaun runs to BLAST Caster! Billy wants in but the ref says now. But Bowens ROCKS Liona and back drops Kaun! Hot tag to Billy! The fans go wild as Daddy Ass rallies on The Embassy with big haymakers! Billy TOSSES Kaun, dodges Cage and kicks low, “SUCK IT!” Billy runs, but Liona POUNCES! Fans boo but Bowens runs up to fire off the Five Tool Strike Fest! But then Cage fireman’s carries Bowens, for an F5! Caster CHOPS Cage, fireman’s carries him, and DEATH VALLEY DRIVERS! But Kaun SHOTGUNS Caster!

Kaun roars, Nana wants him to end this! Kaun kicks Billy, underhooks, GLORY TO MOUNT FAKO!! Cover, TWO?!? Billy survives and Nana can’t believe it! So Nana grabs a chair! Nana slides that chair in while Kaun distracts the ref with arguing. Nana then distracts the ref, Kaun gets that chair, and he aims for Billy! But Jay White snatches that chair! Fans fire up as Billy then hits the ONE AND ONLY!! Billy flounders his way over, The Gunns get Nana off the apron! Austin & Colten POWERBOMB Nana through the timekeeper’s table!! The fans lose their minds as Bullet Club Gold watches The Acclaimed’s back!

Cage snarls, Liona is shocked, and Cage aims at Billy! But Bowens slides in, to FAMOUSER! Liona returns, but Bowens sends him into buckles! Caster joins in, 3:10 TO YUMA, Acclaimed style!! Fans fire up as Kaun staggers, into a FAMOUSER from Billy! Then THE ARRIVAL to the MIC DROP!! Billy covers, The Acclaimed win!!

Winners: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn, by pinfall (still AEW World Trios Champions)

The first match as The Bang Bang Scissor Gang, and it is a success! White & The Gunns applaud their new pals, will this sensational six soon take over everything?

Serena Deeb speaks.

“Anticipation is a very powerful emotion. A message to our Women’s Division: The Professor is ready to return, and the wait is over.” Who will be put to the test by the Woman of 1000 Holds?

BREAKING NEWS on the AEW World Tag Team Championships!

With Starks & Bill accepting the challenge, their match with Sting & Darby is now set! Two weeks from tonight, Dynamite in Phoenix, Arizona, it will be The Absolute & Skyscraper VS The Relentless Icons! Will 27-0 continue into 28-0? Or will Sting’s career not end on his terms?

Adam “Edge” Copeland VS Minoru Suzuki!

The Rated R Superstar didn’t even need to make this a #CopeOpen, because it was answered the moment he dared veterans to step up to the plate! The Meanest Man in the World, the King of Pancrase, wants to take a bite out of the WWE Grand Slam Champion, will he show Copeland who really has edge?

The bell rings on this commercial free match, and the fans are already losing their minds! Even Edge seems stunned this is really happening as he circles with Suzuki. They approach, and then immediately start firing forearms! Fans fire up as they go back and forth, faster and faster, and then suddenly they slow down as Suzuki ROCKS Edge! Edge ROCKS Suzuki, Suzuki ROCKS Edge back! Both men take a moment, and while Edge grits his teeth, Suzuki has that wild grin on his face! Edge fires a forearm, Suzuki eggs him on! Suzuki then ROCKS Edge, so Edge fires another shot! Suzuki ROCKS Edge again, and Edge drops to his knees!

Fans fire up while Suzuki laughs, and Suzuki brings Edge up. Edge CHOPS! Suzuki nods, and CHOPS back! Suzuki runs, but into a CHOP! Edge runs, Suzuki follows, shoots around and DECKS Edge!! Fans fire up again while Suzuki drags Edge up and reels him in. “This is Awesome!” as Suzuki goes for the Gotch lift! Edge fights, back drops free, and fans fire up again! Suzuki goes to the apron, Edge storms over, but Suzuki grabs a HANGING ARMBAR! Edge fights free of it to fire forearms! Edge runs, and he BOOTS Suzuki! Suzuki holds the ropes but he wobbles, so Edge runs again. But Suzuki KNEES Edge first!

Suzuki then drags Edge through the ropes to have a GUILLOTINE! Edge flounders out of the ring, Suzuki brings him around and cranks on the hold! Edge fights, flails, and then RAMS Suzuki through barriers!! The fans lose their minds all over again! Suzuki is stunned, but then he grins! Suzuki is having fun as he and Edge slowly sit up. The ring count starts and Suzuki has to remember, AEW does a 10 count, not a 20 like in NJPW. Suzuki throws forearms on Edge then heads back for the ring. Edge hurries after, we’re at 5 of 10, and then Suzuki stands to fire forearms! Edge fires back! The count is 8 of 10, both men stagger over, and they slide in at 9.9!!

Fans fire up as both legends are back in the ring, “This is Awesome!” Suzuki grins as he and Edge head for each other. Suzuki eggs Edge on, so Edge fires a forearm! Suzuki fires back! Edge shakes his head, and fires back! Suzuki fires another! Edge scowls, fires another forearm, but then so does Suzuki! The forearms pick up speed, the fans rally as both men stand! The shots keep going, and Suzuki laughs! Suzuki SLAPS, Edge SLAPS, but then Suzuki bobs ‘n’ weaves! DOUBLE SLAPS take both men down! The fans fire up again and a standing count begins! Suzuki stirs at 3 of 10 but Edge also moves around.

The count passes 5 of 10, both men sit up and Suzuki stands Edge up. Suzuki ROCKS Edge with another forearm! Edge ROCKS Suzuki back! Both men wobble, and Suzuki comes back with a laugh. Edge eggs Suzuki on so Suzuki ROCKS him! And ROCKS him again! Suzuki eggs Edge on so Edge ROCKS Suzuki! Suzuki just smiles, and then SLAPS! SLAPS! SLAP SLAP SLAP, the palm strikes paint Edge’s face! Suzuki wrenches but Edge rolls to kick low, IMPALER DDT! Both men are down and fans fire up again! The fans duel, “Let’s Go, Adam!” “SU-ZU-KI!” Edge crawls to a corner, stands up, and takes aim!

Edge runs in, but Suzuki dodges to get the arm! FUJIWARA ARMBAR!! Edge flails, reaches out, but Suzuki pushes back on the arm! Edge endures, claws his way around, and grabs the ROPEBREAK! Fans cheer and Suzuki lets off. Suzuki stalks Edge to a corner, for a SLEEPER! The ref reprimands, but Edge pulls buckle pad away! Edge arm-drags free, ducks ‘n’ dodges, and SPEARS!! But he has to crawl to the cover! TWO!!! Suzuki survives and that shocks Edge! Suzuki sits up and grins! Then he body scissors for the SLEEPER!! Edge endures, flails, but that Rear Naked Choke is on tight! Edge moves around, pries at the hold, and he gets out of the body scissors!

Edge fights up, but Suzuki squeezes tight! Edge’s face is turning purple already, but Suzuki just keeps squeezing! Edge is fading!! The ref checks, the fans rally as hard as they can, and the arm goes down ONCE! But then Edge revives! Edge runs to a corner, Suzuki hits bare buckle!! Edge then chicken wings, to KILLSWITCH!! A message to Christian as Edge covers, EDGE WINS!!

Winner: Adam “Edge” Copeland, by pinfall

The Ultimate Opportunist managed to find an opening that would allow him to bring down Suzuki! And wouldn’t you know? Christian Cage is watching this backstage. Captain Charisma is seething seeing his archenemy on a win streak. Will The Patriarchy have no choice but to face Edge once again?

As for Edge, he gets a mic and catches his breath. “I’ve never been hit that hard in my life. Gaddamn. Suzuki. Respect.” Fans cheer that! Edge offers a handshake, and Suzuki stands, only to growl at Edge and leave. Edge says honestly, he would’ve been disappointed if Suzuki did shake his hand. “But that was a war! The kind of war that Christian Cage knows nothing about. Christian, I am still coming for you!” Will the Cope Open continue on until the R in “Rated R” stands for Revolution?

My Thoughts:

A great Dynamite here, and this seems to be a great sign of how AEW is going to look with the rankings making a comeback. Samoa Joe and Hook had a great opening bit just to keep in mind that Hook will return for another world title match one day. And Joe was great on commentary during Hangman’s awesome match with Penta to get things going. Given how Joe was so upset Hangman won, it feels like Joe VS Hangman is where they’re going to lead this. And that’s even with Swerve winning his own awesome match against Jeff Hardy and then rubbing that in Hangman’s face. No idea who they’ll each throw at each other in Dealer’s Choice, but that’s part of the fun.

Really good match from Wardlow VS Trent with everyone else ringside, and I figured Wardlow would win. But this still feeds two stories at once: Wardlow gains momentum going towards the title; and Trent’s frustration at the end, him pushing Cassidy, maybe we get Cassidy VS Trent for the International Championship at some point. I also like the field they chose for that “Freshly Squeezed Fatal 4,” though I was anticipating an even bigger match than that. Komander and Vikingo are allies, but so are Kip and Butcher, it’ll be about which side falls apart that determines the winner and Cassidy’s next challenger.

Rosa VS Velvet was good, but rather clunky. They did note it was the first time Rosa and Velvet ever faced each other, so maybe they just weren’t clicking. Rosa still wins, of course, and I do appreciate that she not only calls out Storm but realizes she could call out the TBS Champion. Julia Hart does need someone to feud with, and Rosa is a great choice, regardless of who wins out in the end. And speaking of Toni Storm, what a great promo from her and Deonna. And seriously, I am impressed they pulled off splitting the screen between color and black ‘n’ white. Deonna stands tall here, but we’re still a way’s away from Revolution, so don’t count her out just yet.

Really good promo from Bucks to add to their roles as Heel authority figures, them trolling Top Flight but then perhaps throwing their weight around upon hearing Darby talking about him and Sting. Sting & Darby VS Starks & Bill for the tag titles happening before Revolution is of course so The Bucks can “abuse” their power and get their title shot against Sting & Darby at Revolution so they’ll not just retire Sting but also get back on top of the tag division. And great Trios Championship match, with Bullet Club Gold making great saves so that Acclaimed can retain. At this point, I still feel like things might happen where BCG turn on Acclaimed and we get Winners Take All at Revolution so that only one trio has all the trios belts.

Great promo from Moxley, though he didn’t say anything different from what he said on Collision, so it was really just so he’d be on TV. And good promo from Deeb but it was unfortunately redundant when the “BREAKING NEWS” already said she was showing up on Collision. And great to hear that Yuji Nagata is showing up on Collision. AEW is of course trying really hard to counter program Royal Rumble this Saturday, and Nagata showing up is great for fans who only watch AEW. But fans of both AEW and WWE (like myself) aren’t ditching The Royal Rumble for it.

And of course, great main event from Suzuki VS Edge. Edge was surely telling the truth that Suzuki was hitting him harder than anyone ever before. Edge of course calls Christian out in case anyone forgot why he’s doing this, and of course Edge VS Christian is the choice for Revolution’s TNT Championship match. Still hoping Luchasaurus betrays Christian so that Edge keeps the TNT Championship this time.

My Score: 8.9/10
