NJPW World Television Championship: Matt Riddle VS Kosei Fujita!

MLW War Chamber is explosive, and that includes this Mighty sequel to Intimidation Games! The Super King beat Tito, but will this Ichiban Sweet Boy succeed where one Bad Dude failed? Or will Riddle’s Ex-Bro-dition continue on through the Spring?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see if Kosei gets his 15 minutes of fame!

The bell rings and we’re on the clock as the fans rally up. Riddle and Fujita circle, feel things out, and knuckle lock. Fujita goes for a leg but Riddle stays up to step over and facelock. They gator roll, Fujita fights to get up and around but Riddle rolls away, and the fans applaud this opening exchange. Riddle and Fujita reset, circle, feel things out again, and Riddle goes for a leg. Fujita blocks, floats to a waistlock, but Riddle switches. Fujita wrenches then hammerlocks to waistlock and the fans cheer him on. Riddle goes to the ropes, the ref counts, and Fujita slowly lets off. Fujita pats Riddle on the shoulder, then CHOPS!

Fans “WOO~” but Riddle doesn’t flinch. Riddle CHOPS back! Fujita nods, fires a forearm, and Riddle gives it back! The fans are on Fujita’s side as the forearms go back and forth! Riddle ROCKS Fujita, then KICKS! KICKS! And KICKS! Fujita goes to ropes, rebounds and CHOPS! Riddle felt that one, but he comes back to KICK Fujita down! The fans are torn but Riddle runs. Fujita drops, hurdles, then drop toeholds! Fujita runs, Riddle dodges but Fujita ducks the roundhouse! Riddle ducks the lariat, and the fans cheer the new standoff. Riddle and Fujita catch their breath and circle again.

Riddle and Fujita have their dukes up, test the waters, and then Fujita takes a swing. Riddle ducks it to GERMAN SUPLEX! Fujita flounders to a corner, Riddle storms up on him, and Riddle ROCKS Fujita with a forearm! Riddle goes side to side to ROCK Fujita again! Then the other way, another forearm smash! Then BROSPLODER! The fans are torn but Riddle brings Fujita up. Riddle FISHERMAN SUPLEXES, bridging cover, TWO! Not quite perfect but then Riddle BROTONS! The fans rally and duel as Riddle aims. PENALTY KICK! Fujita falls back, Riddle BROTONS onto knees! Riddle hobbles up, blocks a boot and ROCKS Fujita!

Riddle whips, Fujita reverses and CHOPS! Riddle knees low, runs, but Fujita duck sand comes back to RANA! The fans fire up while Riddle bails out! Fujita builds speed but Riddle moves! So Fujita goes to the apron to PENALTY KICK! Riddle falls and the fans fire up again! Fujita storms up to CHOP Riddle, then he puts Riddle back in the ring. Fujita aims from the apron, springboards and SWANTONS! Cover, TWO! Riddle stays in this but Fujita stays cool. Fujita waistlocks to deadlift, but Riddle throws elbows again and again! Fujita ducks the last one, then jumps to GUILLOTINE FACELOCK! Fans fire up as Riddle is caught!

Riddle RAMS Fujita into buckles, but Fujita holds on! Fujita squeezes tight as he brings Riddle to the mat! Five minutes have past, Riddle fights up and powers through! FISHERMAN BUSTER! Cover, TWO! Riddle scoops, pops Fujita around to fireman’s carry, and BRO TO SLEEP! Then GERMAN SUPLEX! Bridging cover, TWO!! Fujita survives and the fans fire up even more! Riddle drags Fujita to a drop zone and goes up. But Fujita trips Riddle up! Fujita CLUBS Riddle on the back, climbs up behind him, and SUPER GERMAN SUPLEXES!! A rough landing for Riddle, Fujita crawls to cover, ROPEBREAK!!

Riddle survives by fingertips, but the fans rally as hard as they can for Fujita! Fujita drags Riddle up, to SLAP! SLAP! And SLAP! The palm strikes are hot, Fujita runs, but into a JUMP KNEE! Riddle hurries to gut wrench and tuck, BRO DEREK!! Cover, Riddle wins!

Winner: Matt Riddle, by pinfall (still NJPW World Television Champion)

The King of Bros holds onto his crown, only needing seven minutes to wrap this one! MLW’s Joe Dombrowski interviews Riddle on the ramp, and says that from Tito to Fujita, to Jacob Fatu and Davey Boy Smith Jr, he has established quite the list. When the Pro-Wrestling Illustrated Top Ten comes out next time around, Joe feels Riddle could be in the number one spot. Riddle says, “Probably, bro. But hey, hey. Fujita, that was sick, dude. I thought you killed me with that German off the top, bro. But somehow I pulled through. I think those slaps woke me up. But give it up for Fujita.” The fans cheer Fujita’s efforts.

Riddle continues by saying we may not know this, but about six years to the day, Riddle challenged for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, and he came up short. But Riddle is back, and he is not only gonna be the King of Bros, he wants to be the King of MLW when he wins the world title, bro! The fans echo “BRO! BRO! BRO!” Will Riddle get his shot at MLW’s top prize? Will he become the #TwoBeltBro?
