Gabe Sapolsky Talks EVOLVE Using NXT Superstars, Working With Triple H

The working relationship between the WWE and WWN’s EVOLVE has certainly seen some pretty big steps recently after NXT Superstars The Street Profits became the EVOLVE Tag Team Champions, in addition to Fabian Aichner winning the EVOLVE Championship.

One man in the middle of it all is Gabe Sapolsky, the Vice President of Talent Relations, Creative and Marketing for WWN who is also a consultant for WWE. Gabe was recently spoke with Mike Johnson for PWInsider Elite audio and discussed the relationship between the two promotions and spoke about EVOLVE’s use of NXT Superstars:

“The guys who haven’t really done the indies, that’s who I’m really interested in, you know? Like Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch were discussed about coming to EVOLVE. I was like, ‘Well, you know they’ve done the indies. They’ve proven everything they can on the indies. Maybe bring them both in on a guest spot because they’re both tremendous talents but they’re not going to learn anything or benefit from the ‘indie experience’ so there’s that aspect of it.”

Sapolsky also spoke about working with Triple H and how he has begun to change the view of the independent scene for WWE and keep talent consistently coming into the Performance Center:

“That’s all Triple H. Triple H sees real value in the indies and the independents. You know he recognizes where talent is coming from and you know obviously with the PC they get talent from a whole bunch of different places. But he understands that the independents are an important part of that pipeline and he also understands that it’s important for the independents to be strong and you know for things to be there. So it’s not that difficult because there is a value in EVOLVE for WWE and NXT.”
