IMPACT has a Bunkhouse Brawl, a Chris Bey vs David Finlay rematch and more shenanigans in their title scenes! Does Ace Austin try to get cute before Victory Road next week? Do Josh Alexander and Chris Sabin stay all about respect?

Aside from that, I’m not sure what else to expect. Maybe Zicky Dice will do stuff?
Let’s find out!

Tasha Steelz vs Rosemary
Not really much of a match. First the stream had a technical delay then we had a simple mostly back and forth match. But it was a little slow, very short and just ending with Tasha getting caught from the corner, then being vulnerable to a Spear and the match is over.
After the match Savannah and Tasha steal the Knockouts Tag titles, so even though Tasha’s group is always losing; they’re at least resilient.

Bunkhouse Brawl: Karl Anderson w/Doc Gallows vs Rich Swann
Rich started off quick and he decided to go right after both of them. He dove at Big LG, threw Karl through 1 piece of plywood that was in the ring at the beginning of the match. It was a brawl on the outside where Rich went out of his way to try and be 1 step ahead of the eventual interference.
The attempted neutralization of LG bit Rich, because then Karl was able to just use the numbers to his advantage. Plus after the big man recovered enough, he made his presence felt since everything is legal in a Bunkhouse. Distractions lead to an Anderson Spinebuster and a Shotgun Kick. Rich fought back well, corkscrew kicks, using weapons like trash can lids to his advantage, but it was just too much. Even though he hand standed out of the first Gun Stun, LG made his presence felt again, they’re perched in the corner after a table got set up. Karl Gun Stuns Rich, the table doesn’t break, but it’s all enough to stop Rich from kicking out.

Chris Bey vs David Finlay
Damn solid match here. This continued their match from two weeks ago, some similar beats and a lot of great counters. Bey used a good bit of aerial moves to keep Finlay off balance, he powdered early, ran circles around the ring, it was just good fun, very Jay White tactics. Finlay hit the Backbreaker, then he had a Crossface he transitioned into a Double Arm Lock, but Bey got out. Bey managed to counter late in the match, tried to win the same way he did before with the feet on the ropes…but Juice Robinson came out.
Juice moves the feet, Bey is distracted and the School Boy gets Finlay his win back.
Post-Match we get Hikuleo to show up and beat some ass! The NJPWofUSA section of the Bullet Club is slowly leaking into Impact Wrestling!

Steve Maclin vs Petey Williams
This wasn’t really a match to get across the ring work, it was more to keep story moving. Petey does a solid job taking advantage of Maclin, looks for the Destroyer but because TJP made the bet at Swinger’s Palace, him, Bahh and the Congo Line come out to distract Petey. Maclin hits his Psycho Driver finisher, which I think they called Mayhem for All, but the point is now TJP is involved in all of this.
Match had no real sporting merit, but moved the story along decently enough.
Moose w/Massive Cassidy vs Eddie Edwards
Moose and Eddie Edwards have a solid back and forth, Moose got Eddie in the corner then Eddie flipped the script with his Machine Gun Chops. Eddie tried to dump out Moose, but Moose popped back on the apron and kept coming.
This match was similar to the last one where it was more to push the story than to promote the in ring work. Short action was high impact and looked fun, Massive Cassidy does enough by putting Moose’s foot on the ropes after Eddie hits the Boston Knee Party. Eddie Dives out after the Massive one, then when he gets back in the ring, Moose slices him in half with Lights Out. Moose picks up the win!
Now we get a good ole TNA schmoz to end the show! Chris Sabin comes out to help Eddie, and then Brian Myers and his cronies come out, followed by Josh Alexander…okay you get the idea all the team members from the “make a team” angle for next week. Sami Callihan is the last piece to save Eddie, Eddie and Sami clink baseball bats and are seemingly now okay enough to work together.
Overall Score: 6.5/10
This wasn’t a bad show, the backstage promos were entertaining, the stories got pushed forward and we see Sami and Eddie possibly squash their beef. Now the downside was of course the ring work being bad bookends or a solid work sandwich. They really decided to put the best matches in the middle and end on story beats. Which like I said, for the stories they’re telling, it worked well enough. But kinda hurts the flow of the episode when IMPACT is known for fairly solid week to week work.
I kinda wish LockDown was the 18th and not Victory Road. Because Team Christian Cage vs Team Ace Austin is actually a really well balanced crew. I feel like the AA Team is going to prevail because I think Christian is only getting one more defense before Bound for Glory. I’d like to see Christian drop it to Moose, but I mean, IMPACT never likes to push him. Decent show, better if you care more about the stories going on.
