Regal says that was an amazing showing from Konosuke, and he admits how close that was to a win for Konosuke! But if this is as good as Konosuke is now, just how more amazing will he become in the coming years? And as for the winner, the Swiss Superman is still the champion, how much harder will he fight to keep this reign going?

My Thoughts:

An awesome hour of wrestling right here, with just the wrestling! Bonus points to me for calling the order of matches from the start. The TNT Championship was an awesome opener, with Wardlow getting a great win off a great star like Lethal. At the same time, I should’ve figured the Heels would beat Wardlow down after that match. They might even be able to swing this to where Lethal gets another shot at Wardlow at All Out for an even better match. The AEW Women’s World Championship match was great, and of course Britt and Rebel get involved here and there. Rosa gets the win with a quick pin so it’s not like Hayter looked weak there. But maybe they’ll swing this to give us another match of Rosa VS Britt for the title at All Out.

And what an awesome match from the ROH World Championship with Claudio VS Konosuke. That was perhaps one of the more competitive examples of a first title defense and a first title challenge in a long time. I feel like that place would’ve exploded if Konosuke actually pulled this one off, but it made a lot of sense for Claudio to retain. Claudio is going to carry the banner for ROH as a returning classic name, much like with Samoa Joe. And Konosuke can now believably be in just about any title scene with this performance, I’m pretty sure.

My Score: 8.8/10

Mitchell’s AEW Continental Classic Standings! (12/7/25)

Week 2 Update!

Published

on

Who stayed hot to start December?

The Continental Classic is getting complicated with the staggered schedule. But did winners keep on winning? Did losers keep on losing?

Here are the current Gold League standings!

  • Kyle Fletcher: 2-0, 6 points
  • Kazuchika Okada: 1-1, 3 points
  • PAC: 1-1, 3 points
  • Kevin Knight: 1-1, 3 points
  • “Speedball” Mike Bailey: 0-1, 0 points
  • Darby Allin: 0-1, 0 points [INJURED] Subbing: “Jungle” Jack Perry

Here are the current Blue League standings!

  • Claudio Castaganoli: 2-1, 6 points
  • Konosuke Takeshita: 2-0, 6 points
  • Jon Moxley: 1-2, 3 points
  • Orange Cassidy: 1-1, 3 points
  • Mascara Dorada: 1-1, 3 points
  • Roderick Strong: 0-2, 0 points

A real shame about Darby Allin, but that’s assuming this is real and not kayfabe for the story. Jack Perry is a good choice for subbing him in since he’s feuding with the Don Callis Family alongside the newly reunited Elite. And great upset win for Dorada over Claudio this week, too. Claudio and Moxley have already had three of their five matches, they might be given a week off so Jack Perry and Mike Bailey can get their matches in, and I would also hope the Death Riders start considering their options given Moxley keeps losing more than he’s winning.

But not the BOOT! He ducks the enzigiri, though, and slingshots in for a DDT! The fans fire up again while Cassidy goes back to the corner. Cassidy climbs again, but Roddy ROCKS him first! Roddy climbs, brings Cassidy up, but Cassidy holds onto the corner! Cassidy fires body shots and Roddy hops down.

Roddy comes back to SMACK Cassidy! Roddy climbs back up, scoops, but Cassidy fires knees and elbows! Cassidy ELBOWS Roddy down, and the ropes get Roddy low! Cassidy leaps, DEEP IMPACT! Cover, TWO!! Roddy survives and the fans fire up again! Cassidy throws off his elbow pad and the fans cheer him on! ORANGE- NO, Roddy catches Cassidy, HALF NELSON BACKBREAKER! Torture rack, BACKBREAKER DROP!! High stack, TWO!! Cassidy survives, but Roddy has the STRONGHOLD! But Cassidy rolls and reels Roddy in for a cradle, TWO! Roddy ROCKS Cassidy, fires elbows, then suplexes, END OF- STUN-DOG MILLIONAIRE!

The fans fire up again and Cassidy reloads! ORANGE- Fireman’s carry! GUT- NO! Cassidy blocks and cradles, CASSIDY WINS!

Winner: Orange Cassidy, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Roddy earns 0)

His back is hurting, but Cassidy still feels good about getting on the board. Roddy huffs ‘n’ puffs, now 0-2 and with no points. Roddy storms off, will he ever be down to conglomerate? Can Cassidy use this win to turn it around and take the Blue League?

BREAKING NEWS for the Continental Classic.

Darby Allin’s body has been through a lot lately, and it seems the damage on Thanksgiving Eve was just too much. Darby is now ruled OUT of the C2, and we all wish him a speedy recovery. However, Jack Perry is now substituting into Darby’s spot! Jungle Jack inherits an 0-1 start, but can he blaze a trail right to the top of the block?

Darby Allin speaks.

“Last year, I thought I was winning this war with the Death Riders, but in reality, I was just winning the battle. They’re winning the war. Y’know why? Because week in and week out, they’re wrestling, doing pushups, but IDGAF! I was wrestling Kevin Knight, and for the first time in my career, I was scared. I felt my legs give out. I was rushed to the hospital. And I guess the AEW doctors are taking me out of the Continental Classic. Which is fine! If you want to save Darby from Darby, that’s fine, IDGAF. And I hear Jack Perry is taking my spot. I’ve never seen eye to eye with Jack Perry, but if you’re taking my spot, man… Go on, win the whole effin’ thing! I hope you do!

“As for Darby… I don’t know. I don’t know.” The Relentless One has hit a crossroads in his career, maybe in his life. Does something have to change if he wants to stay relentless?

FTR is here!

The fans boo as Stokely Hathaway walks with the NEW, THREE-TIME AEW World Tag Team Champion, Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood. #BigStoke has the mic, and he says, “Tonight, tonight, TONIGHT…! Tonight! Tonight! Tonight is the greatest night of my entire life! Why? Because FTR are the AEW World Tag Team Champions! Now, now, now, settle down. Settle down, Columbus.” The fans tell Stokely to STFU instead. Dax says watch your mouths! Stoke says he’s so glad they all “appreciate” him that much. But he has to address what happened on Dynamite this past Wednesday.

FTR are men of their words! Dax Harwood DARED Austin Gunn & Juice Robinson to put their hands on FTR’s AEW World Tag Team Championships! So Austin, Juice, no more fun and games, no more haha, no more BS! Get in this ring right here, right now! Stoke & FTR wait, and “By order of the Bang Bang Gang, GUNS UP!” The fans cheer as Austin & Juice indeed make their way to the ring. “Guns up! WOOP WOOP! Guns up!” Cash says enough of that. He said it on Wednesday, but he wants to say it to their faces! Yes, they ARE the last team to beat FTR, but that will be the last time that they ever beat FTR.

Make no mistakes: You are NOT on FTR’s level! They are living legends, Austin is just a son of a legend. The Bang Bang Gang’s greatest achievements will always ever be being “Billy’s Boy” and “Mr. Toni Storm.” Dax says he understands these two are just so excited to be in the ring with the absolute best team on the planet. There’s a nepo baby daddy’s boy, and Dax has known Juice his whole career. Juice has always been the bag carrier! The only time either of them has been relevant is when they stand across from THE Top Guys. The problem with that is, FTR are peerless! They have no rivals! They are one of one! Nobody else comes close!

And last week, Dax was embarrassed, he’ll admit, when he let Austin touch the belt. But tonight, Dax will do them a favor. There is absolutely no way, the only reason FTR hasn’t fought them again, is that there is no way Bang Bang Gang can beat them. So go ahead, touch the belt. He double dog dares you! The fans chant, “Touch The Belt! Touch The Belt!” Austin says okay, you got him, he’ll give them that. He IS the son of a Hall of Famer. The fans cheer that! Juice is the son of a carpenter! Cash is the son of his own first cousin, and Dax is just a son of a b*tch! But now that we have family trees out of the way…

Let’s talk about something FTR has been avoiding: Putting the titles on the line! The fans cheer, and Austin asks them, who won the last time they fought in the ring? The fans shout, “GUNS UP!” Austin says he gets it, they’ve done this song and dance before. But somehow, someway, the people are behind ’em! Columbus chants “GUNS UP! GUNS UP!” Austin won’t indulge the weird fetish of belt touching. You wanna know what turns Bang Bang Gang on? Reach inside your pocket, touch your pens, touch those to paper, and make the match official! The fans cheer that, too!

Juice says he isn’t sure FTR remembers, but a few weeks ago, Bang Bang Gang won 200 THOUSAND DOLLARS! If this was just about touching belts, they’d take the $200K, go to ShopAEW.com, and buy HUNDREDS of belts and touch ’em all night long! But Juice has a belt, and it holds his pants up so he doesn’t need any more. What they need are titles. THOSE titles! And they didn’t come out just to touch those titles, they came out to tell FTR that the next time they touch those titles, it’ll be when the ref hands ’em to Bang Bang Gang when they beat FTR’s asses in the UK! And if you’re not down with that, they’ve got two words for ya: GUNS UP! And NEW!

The fans like the sound of that! And from what it sounds like, Winter is Coming, and so are Bang Bang Gang for FTR’s gold! Will there be quite the Collision in Cardiff?

The Death Riders speak.

Marina Shafir says, “Greatness is not a moment. It is a habit executed every single day. Who’s pushing you to be great, Mark (Briscoe)? Who’s got your back like that, Mark?” Wheeler Yuta says, “I’ll answer that question: Nobody! You toothless, hillbilly idiot, running around with your band of moron friends! Mark, you cannot match the drive, the consistency, the determination and the violence of the Death Riders!” Daniel Garcia says, “Hey, Mark, straight up, you are one of the stupidest people I have ever met in my entire life. And anybody that has listened you talk for more than five seconds would agree with me.

“And I’ve seen you do and say a lot of stupid things. But the stupidest thing you’ve done in recent memory is volunteer to put that TNT title on the line against me. December 13th, Cardiff, Wales, I’m bringing that title home to the Death Riders. Let’s get it. C’mon.” They dap it up, but will Red Death strike Briscoe down in Cardiff? Or will the Sussex County Chicken fly across the pond, then fly back still the Face of TNT?

PROGRAMMING NOTE for Collision: Winter is Coming.

With Collision being overseas in Cardiff, Wales, it will be on at a very special, very early 4:30PM Eastern, 1:30PM Pacific so that it will truly be live coast-to-coast! Make sure your DVR is scheduled accordingly so you don’t miss all the afternoon action!

Dorada goes up, up, balances, then ARABIAN PRESS ARM-DRAGS! The fans fire up as Claudio tumbles out, and Dorada builds speed to DIVE into an UPPERCUT! Claudio then DUMPS Dorada to the floor, and he huffs ‘n’ puffs while the fans cheer. Claudio then military presses Dorada, and THROWS him at the railing! Dorada sputters from hitting Snake Eyes, and the fans rally up. Claudio drags Dorada up to just military press THROW again!

The fans fire up, the ref reprimands, but Claudio soaks up cheers and jeers in the ring while Collision goes picture in picture.

Claudio paces while the ring count climbs, Dorada flounders around at 5 of 10, crawls to the ring, and springs in at 8! Claudio BOOTS him down! And stomps away on him! Claudio looms over Dorada, then covers, TWO! Claudio clamps onto Dorada with a chinlock and he squeezes tight! Dorada endures, fights around, and fights to his feet! Claudio ripcords to UPPERCUT him down! Claudio goes up the corner, waits on Dorada, and then AX HANDLES him back down! Cover, TWO! Claudio is frustrated but he drags Dorada up to suplex. Claudio marches around as he holds Dorada up, and Collision goes to break!

Collision returns and Dorada is down! Claudio drags him back up, then rips at the mask! The ref reprimands, the fans boo, but Claudio argues it isn’t illegal. The ref still reprimands, but then Dorada CHOPS, KICKS, and KICKS! Claudio blocks a kick, trips Dorada, and GIANT SWINGS him around! Claudio THROWS Dorada away at TRES! The fans boo, they wanted more, but Claudio winds up. Dorada rises, Claudio runs in, UPPERCUT in the corner! Claudio whips Dorada corner to corner, but Dorada goes up and over! SUPERKICK! Both men are down and the fans fire up! Dorada goes to a corner, rises up, and he runs in, but into a BOOT!

Claudio goes to cover, but Dorada holds him up! They teetertotter back and Dorada leaps right up onto Claudio’s shoulders! Dorada then hops down to the corner, BACKFLIPS over Claudio, and FLYING ARM-DRAGS! Dorada keeps moving, tilt-o-whirl RANA!! The fans fire up as Claudio tumbles out, and Dorada slides! Claudio dodges to whip Dorada back in! But Dorada returns to DIVING ARM-DRAG! The fans are thunderous and Dorada hurries to SUPERKICK Claudio again! Dorada stands Claudio up, but Claudio SHOVES him into the steel steps! Claudio runs up, but Dorada sends him into the steps!

Dorada runs up, Claudio ALLEY OOPS him to the corner, but Dorada lands safe on the second rope! And then FLYING ARM-DRAG again! The fans are thunderous again and Dorada gets Claudio back in the ring. Dorada fires up, the fans cheer, and Dorada runs, ducks ‘n’ dodges, then rolls up to sunset flip! TWO!! Claudio escapes and the fans rally up again. Dorada survives, the fans rally up, and stalks Dorada to a corner. Claudio UPPERCUTS again and again, from all sides! Claudio runs up, but Dorada BOOTS him away! And BOOTS him again! Dorada climbs, but Claudio jumps up to UPPERCUT! And SUPER- NO, Dorada knees Claudio and SHOVES him down! Then SHOOTING STAR PRESS!! Cover, DORADA WINS!!!

Winner: Mascara Dorada, by pinfall (gains 3 points; Claudio earns 0)

And indeed, there was our shocker of the C2! Dorada scores a huge win over the league leader and the CMLL World Heavyweight Champion, but will this lead Dorada to more gold?

Exclusive interview with The Babes of Wrath and the Timeless Love Bombs.

Tony Schiavone sits with Willow Nightingale, Harley Cameron, Toni Storm, Mina Shirakawa, and the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship belts, and says that history will be made at Winter Is Coming as these two teams fight to crown inaugural champions. Mina makes sure everyone has a glass of champagne before continuing. Schiavone says this has been a moment years in the making, and if he says so himself, these are four of the most beloved individuals in AEW. Many hearts will be divided this Wednesday, including his. Toni says they shall raise a glass “to the four b*tches with the itches to fight for all the riches.”

But before that… Toni says there is a difference between being a tag team and living a tag team. Toni and Mina are a tag team whether they’re fighting or not. They weren’t just thrown together to fill a spot. Toni & Mina have been through war together. They met through a tragedy of bloody circumstance, and they’ve loved each other the whole way through. Willow says she supports whatever goes on in their personal lives, but she doesn’t see what difference that makes when it comes to the ring. Wanna trade stories? Let’s! Willow met “this angle of a woman” three years ago. They wrestled on AEW Dark, “just two lost souls swimmin’ in a fish bowl.”

But the last few years haven’t been perfect. So what did Willow do? She put her head down, smile on, and focused on what she loved. Y’know who was doing the same? Harley Cameron. Toni asks if Schiavone’s heart is still divided. But here it is in black ‘n’ white: Toni has beaten Willow and she has beaten Harley. Neither of them can say the same about her. Harley says there is no denying the amazing accomplishments both Toni & Mina have accomplished. But allow her to put this in technicolor. These babes have wrath! And they are ready to rewrite history! And if it has to be with Toni & Mina, then so be it.

Now, while they’re all comparing, Harley must say that her first and only three years in the business have been a lot more successful than the Love Bombs’. Oh, is that so? Yes, it is. Mina says enough! These titles are why they are here. So let’s give the fans a fight to remember! Schiavone says well s*it, he’ll drink to that. Cheers! They drink up, but who will soon be toasting their victory?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

Collision returns and Schiavone welcomes us back to Columbus. “Ladies and gentlemen, we were thrilled to see him back at Full Gear. Please welcome, along with Prince Nana, Swerve Strickland!” The fans fire up for “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Nana says, “We in the money, my friends!” Swerve goes right to the ring, and he gets a mic to say, “It feels great to hear that again. Let’s do that one more time, right?” “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” The fans cheer, and Swerve says two weeks ago, he returned and stepped foot back in AEW at Full Gear, after being put on the shelf for three months.

Three months removed from surgery, three months of rehab, three months of training, and grinding, and rebuilding himself to turn himself into the biggest, baddest, most dangerous version of Swerve Strickland that you’ve ever seen! The fans cheer that! Swerve says it was all for one purpose and one purpose alone: The AEW World Championship. That same championship that sets the standard in all of pro-wrestling around the world. The same championship that raises the bar, but also makes you public enemy number one. Swerve knows all about that, because when he was champion, he made business real simple. “I said it, I meant it, and I backed it the hell up.”

The fans cheer, and Swerve says that same title now sits on the shoulder of Samoa Joe. The fans boo that name. Swerve says, “Hey, Joe. You remember me? What’s up. Cuz seems like every time I try to get myself reacquainted with you, you running from me now. That’s right! Because the last person to beat you for the last championship was me!” The fans cheer that! Swerve says he got the biggest moment in his career off Joe, and made some history of Joe, too. Now things might be a little bit different, because Swerve has to fight through waves and waves of Opps Dojo guys, and cut through them like this is Dynasty Warriors or something!

All that just to get to Hobbs, Shibata, and even Hook, all to get back to HIS AEW World Championship. It makes no difference to Swerve, it’s the same dance, different circumstance. “Joe, you will fall once again to the Franchise of AEW, Swerve Strickland. Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” That brings Swerve to one more person: Hangman Adam Page. The fans cheer that name! Now, we all know that Hangman and Swerve haven’t seen eye to eye. Never have, probably never will. But make no mistake about it, in the history of AEW, there has never been greater rivalry than Hangman Page VS Swerve Strickland! The fans cheer that!

Swerve says word on the street is, Hangman needs another desperado to ride into battle with The Opps. “So what do you say? How ’bout Swerve be the one backing you up at Winter Is Coming?” The fans like the sound of that! Swerve says for one night and one night only. After that, they’ll have to sit down again and have a very, very serious conversation. But then someone shouts, “Enough! ENOUGH! I can’t take it anymore!” Is that Josh Alexander? The Walking Weapon says “Welcome back, Swerve! I was listening in the back, and all I heard was lies and half truths.” The fans boo, but Alexander says Swerve is great, he’s done amazing things.

Not sure he’d call Swerve “The Franchise” like he called himself, but Alexander knows the people love Swerve. All he has to say is, “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” But that’s where they’re wrong! This is Don Callis’ house now! The fans definitely boo that! Alexander says since Swerve’s been gone, the DCF has put a chokehold on AEW, and they ain’t letting go any time soon. The fans tell off Callis, but Alexander says sorry, he’s not even here. Callis would never be caught dead in Columbus, Ohio. But Swerve is out here clambering for a world title match, but not revenge? Who put Swerve out? Who made Swerve go get surgery and grind through rehab?

It was the Don Callis Family’s Okada! Alexander is disappointed Swerve doesn’t want revenge, but he gets it. DCF owns the house now. Alexander tells fans to shut up and sit down. But Swerve, Alexander takes exception that Swerve thinks he can just walk back in here after three, four months, and just get his title shot. So since he’s been on vacation, here is everything Alexander has done. He defeated the great Will Ospreay! He took the legendary Kota Ibushi and put his career into question when he broke Ibushi’s femur! The fans boo, but Alexander grins as he says he’s gone toe-to-toe with Kenny Omega week after week, and Kenny still can’t get the job done!

And Alexander is also the reason why the DCF is one million dollars richer after Full Gear! Swerve asks, “What the hell do you want?!” Alexander says, “If anyone deserves a world title shot, it’s ME! That’s what I want!” The fans boo more, but Alexander says he feels they should figure out who is more deserving: Swerve Strickland or Josh Alexander? The fans chant, “SWERVE! SWERVE! SWERVE!” Alexander knows Swerve wants to do this right now, and so does Alexander, until he sees THIS sitting in the front row! Alexander points to a Harley Quinn cosplayer, because Collision is also coinciding with Galaxycon.

Alexander says THIS is not a wrestling crowd! It’s got freaks, furries, and all sorts of other things! They don’t deserve this match! Swerve says he’ll stop Alexander there. They can do this in Cardiff! Winter is Coming! Yes, as far away from Columbus, Ohio as possible! Alexander likes that! Good, then hurry up and let Swerve bust you up right now! But SHIBATA attacks from behind! The fans boo as The Wrestler kicks the bad leg our! He also intimidates Nana before he steps outside. Shibata nods to Alexander, and Alexander says, “See you next week.” Did Shibata just give Alexander an insurance policy for next week? Or will Swerve make sure no one survives fighting him next week?

Backstage interview with

Lexy Nair is with now 12 Belts, Mercedes Mone. The CEO does her best to stay calm while Lexy brings up how Mone faced Red Velvet 1v1 for the ROH Women’s TV Championship. Unfortunately, Mone- Mone stops Lexy there. She will NOT talk about last night. Tonight is Collision, so ask her a better question or she’s outta here. Then after two tough losses, Mone now puts the TBS title up against Leila Grey. Are these losses weighing on her? Mone works to stay calm, and she says she is a global wrestling icon, #UltimoMone. PWI’s #1 wrestler of 2025! And the GREATEST TBS Champion of all time!

The only thing weighing on her are her twelve titles. So she is tired of being disrespected around here! Just like last night on Final Battle. Leila Grey gets one little win, and she has all the confidence to kick Mone while she’s down! So, Leila, Mone is gonna show you next that there is a price to pay when you mess with Mone! The CEO heads out, completely misunderstanding what Leila was trying to do. But will The Last Baddie Standing make it crystal clear that she should not be underestimated? Or will the Money Train keep going, even after losing some luggage?

AEW TBS Championship: Mercedes Mone VS Leila Grey w/ Christopher Daniels!

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who is the true Face of TBS!

Mone SUCKER PUNCHES Leila before the bell! The fans boo as she HAMMERS away on Leila, then DROPKICKS her out! The fans boo more but Mone then runs to WRECK Leila with a dropkick! Daniels checks on Leila, Mone goes to the apron, and Leila moves out of the way! METEORA on Daniels! The fans fire up, Leila ROCKS Mone and THROWS her into the ring! Leila storms up, HOTSHOTS Mone, then hurries in again! Leila ROCKS, kicks low, KICKS high, then kicks legs out! SHOTGUN DROPKICK! The fans fire up and Leila covers, TWO! Leila hurries to ROLLING NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO!

Mone stays in this but Leila stays on her. Mone blocks a kick, but not the ENZIGIRI! Leila hurries after Mone in the corner, but Mone ELBOWS her away! Mone goes up, DEADLY NIGHTSHADE! But Leila comes back to BOOT Mone! And SHINING WIZARD! Leila headlocks, BULL- NO! Mone powers out of the bulldog and runs, METEOR!A! Cover, TWO! Leila toughs it out but Mone looms over her. Fans start chanting “NEW CHAMP!” to troll The CEO while Collision goes picture in picture.

Mone tunes out the taunt and bumps Leila off buckles. Mone fires forearms, then brings Leila around to bump off more buckles. Mone digs her boot into Leila, stops as the ref counts 4, and she brings Leila around to cravat. Mone then dragon sleepers for a BACKBREAKER! Mone bends Leila, dumps her to a cover, TWO! Leila toughs it out, and she fires body shots! Mone talks trash, Leila fires more shots! Mone fires in return, and LARIATS Leila down! Mone paces around Leila, drags her up, and puts her against ropes. Mone CHOKES Leila, taunts the fans, then YANKS Leila down! The ref reprimands but Mone eggs Leila on.

Mone snapmares Leila, KNEES Her in the back, and KNEES her again! Mone clamps on with a chinlock and grinds Leila down. Leila endures, the fans rally up, and Leila rises up! But Mone THROWS her down by her hair! Mone stalks Leila to ropes, brings her through, and then stomps her against the apron! The ref reprimands, Mone drags Leila up and bumps her off buckles. Mone paces while the ref checks Leila. Mone mocks Leila’s pain, then stomps away on her! Collision returns to single picture as Daniels rallies the fans behind Leila. Mone headstands and KNEE DROPS Leila! Mone then runs corner to corner, but Leila dodges!

Mone hobbles from hitting buckles, and Leila rallies with LARIAT after LARIAT! And a SLINGBLADE! Leila runs in and SHINING WIZARDS Mone! But her knees bother her now, can she still continue? Leila fights to hit the BULLDOG! But Mone ghost pins! TWO!! But Mone drags Leila into the STATEMENT MAKER!! Leila flails, but she TAPS! Mone wins!

Winner: Mercedes Mone, by submission (still AEW TBS Champion)

But The CEO holds on! She makes Leila suffer! Daniels gets in there, Mone lets Leila go, and the fans boo. Daniels is upset, but Mone LOW BLOWS him! Mone snatches back her TBS Championship, then she snatches Schiavone’s headset! “Did you hear that, everybody? STILL the Greatest TBS Champion of all time!!” Mone storms off, but will she still keep her collection at 12? Or will someone

Eddie Kingston speaks.

“Yeah, 25 years, I’ve been doing this. And dreaming of being a professional wrestler since I was nine years old. And now I have the opportunity to become the World Champion. And Joe, when you said I don’t finish, all that good stuff, getting in my head, or you tried to get in my head. You can’t get in my head, Joe. Because I’m in my head every day. Joe, you brung up that I yell and scream and do this, because I care. I care about the sport. I care about professional wrestling. And I hate to admit this, but I care too much for AEW. I care too much that some of the younger guys are going down the way that I do not respect and that I find disgusting.

“What they are doing is NOT right, and not good for this game! AEW was supposed to be something different. You are being rewarded for all your hard work! You are being rewarded for wins in that ring! You are being rewarded for being the best professional wrestler in the world, that’s the way it was supposed to be. Then I’m out 18 months, and I come back to s*it. And it all starts with the world champion. Joe, you are disgusting now. This has nothing to do with pro-wrestling. You are the best pro-wrestler in the world today. That championship proves it. You are supposed to lead! And now, you’re doing what you used to hate!

“And I’m supposed to come back to work and be like everything’s fine. Well guess what? I wanna change, I want things to change, I want the culture to be better. I will have my opportunity December 10th, Winter Is Coming, and Joe, I am not just fighting you for me so I can finally get the payoff that I’ve been looking for for 25 years. No, I’m doing this so I can show the younger guys, do it the right way. Don’t be snakes, don’t be rats. Do it the right way. Do it the way AEW was supposed to be.” The Mad King is fighting to free AEW from a new tyrant, but can he do it? Or will The Opps make sure that never happens?

The Triangle of Madness is running wild!

Thekla, Julia Hart & Skye Blue are all beating down and throwing around the local talent backstage, all looking for Jamie Hayter & Kris Statlander! Hyan & Maya World rush in and go after the Sisters of Sin, but Thekla THROWS Maya into a wall! Then she sets Hyan up for DOUBLE SUPERKICKS! “Sisters of Sin, we come for the win.” Thekla adds, “See you in Cardiff, b*tches!” Now that was toxic… But will Julia & Skye be even colder when Winter Is Coming? Or will Stat & Hayter bring the heat?

AEW National Championship Open Challenge: Ricochet VS Ace Austin!

The One & Only got his first defense of this title taken care of last night at Final Battle. However, just as he promised, he is putting this title up again here tonight. Will the One & Only stay the first-ever AEW National Champion? Or is a new champion inevitable?

The introductions are made, the belt is raised, and we see who wins this gamble!

The bell rings and the fans rally as the two circle. The fans all cheer on Ace, then he waistlocks to headlock. Ace hits the takeover, Ricochet rolls to a cover, ONE! Ricochet powers up and out, Ace hops over, slides under, then shoves Ricochet. Ricochet rolls off Ace’s back, then rolls under to roll back, RANA, but Ace handsprings through! The fans cheer and Ace hits another takeover! Ricochet headscissors, Ace kips free, and Ace hits another takeover! Ricochet headscissors again, Ace kips free again! ace dodges the lariat to hit the takeover! The fans fire up, and they taunt Ricochet with “BALD! BALD! BALD!”

Ace shifts around, has the ghost pin, TWO! Ricochet bails out but he is frustrated! He smacks the desk in anger, but The Gates of Agony coach Ricochet up. The fans boo, but Ricochet takes his time. Kaun distracts, Ricochet runs in, but Ace is ready! Ace fires hands, then ROCKS Ricochet! Ace whips, Ricochet reverses, but Ace rolls to drop toehold and KICK! Ace steps over, LA MAGISTROL! Another instant classic from this Continental Classic, and another three points for The Alpha! Claudio, Garcia & Yuta storm their way out here, but they leave Konosuke be so they can help Moxley up. The Maniac is struggling to lead by example, what will it take for him to stay afloat in this tournament?

My Thoughts:

A great Collision, so close to awesome, but FTR continues to be redundant. They literally chose to say they were going to say everything again. That’s stupid! Why bother with the promo on Wednesday then? Why bother with this promo tonight? It was more interesting for them to just attack Ace Austin after he lost to Ricochet, prompting Juice & Austin to go after them in return. And it would’ve saved time for more stuff that mattered. Also, great match from Ricochet VS Ace, and good Heel work that Ricochet again needed underhanded tactics to keep this title. Can’t wait to see where Ricochet literally goes with this belt next, either CMLL or NJPW.

Very good sit-down interview promo from our tag title finalists. Naturally, Toni alluded to Mariah May being the common link between Toni and Mina but couldn’t say her name now that she’s Blake Monroe in NXT. I really can’t be sure which team wins the titles, but that’s part of the fun, and both teams will make great first champions. Very good promo from Mone to build off her frustrations from Final Battle, and a solid match from Mone VS Leila, but it really feels like a legit knee injury limited things. Hopefully Leila is alright, she was just getting going through the SkyFlight story. As for Mone, of all the titles she has, I’m very confident she keeps the TBS Championship until she loses all the others.

Speaking of injuries, a real shame Darby is out of the C2 with all the damage he’s taken, but if he’s taken that kind of damage, he really does need time off to rest and recover. Jack Perry is a great choice to substitute in, he’s got his own beef to pick with the Don Callis Family guys given the feud between them and the new Elite. Great stuff from all of Blue League tonight, and awesome stuff for Dorada to get that upset victory. Cassidy winning and Roddy not being happy about it was the right move given story, Roddy might just snap and go Heel on Conglomeration after the C2. Moxley VS Konosuke was an awesome main event, too, and great win for Konosuke to stay near the front of the block. Can’t wait to see if Konosuke beats Claudio.

My Score: 9/10
