AEW shares an interview from after Dynamite.

Renee Paquette was with Penta El Zero Miedo & Alex Abrahantes in hopes of getting an update on Rey Fenix’s medical condition. But then Bullet Club Gold had to interrupt. The Bang Bang Gang say hi to Mr. Cero Miedo. Zero fear, right? Well, it could also be zero BELTS, because Penta has no gold. Just like his brother, Fenix! That’s why White likes those two, they’re just a cute little brother tag team. Not like the Gunns, they’re the best brother tag team. But Penta & Fenix are matching now! Penta says the major difference between his brother, Fenix, and Jay White is that Fenix actually won his belt, where White “robaste.”

Alex Abrahantes translates: Jay White is a robber and a thief! BCG take offense to that, and Juice tells Alex to shut up. Penta tells Juice to shut up but White says he has earned every little sparkly, shiny piece of gold on the Bang Bang Belt. Penta wants to take that from White? Penta will get his moment with White in the ring, though. But White’s beaten ’em all and he’ll beat Penta, too! They will all Breathe With The Switchblade, the “real” AEW World Champion! Penta tells White he’s never faced anyone with CERO! MIEDO! But see you then. Will Penta avenge Fenix’s honor while humbling King Switch?

Backstage interview with the X-JAS.

Rampage returns as Renee is with Garcia, Parker, Hager & Menard and says that was great redemption after last week. But she can’t help but feel like there’s still some tension here. Menard says no, great win, great team victory. He just wants to say, he isn’t sure why, but he can’t stand the dance moves anymore. Garcia says the dancing is what is getting the win! Parker has them both calm down. Are they really going to do this after getting the win they were looking for? And y’know what? Maybe Garcia’s got a point. The dance worked out, so bring it down a little bit. Menard asks Parker if he even knows who Menard is, asking him to cool down!

Hager shouts over everyone that this is enough! They won. Look at him, guys. Squash the beef. Squash it? Menard says Garcia should squash it, and Parker should squash it, and Hager should squash. EVERYBODY ELSE should squash it! Menard storms off again, Garcia says he’s being childish. Parker & Hager wanna focus on the win, will Menard come around to that way of thinking?

Team Triple J celebrate with their leading man, but there is still a long road ahead. Will Lethal prove himself a worthy challenger to the Mad King’s throne?

Ortiz speaks.

“Y’know what I realized? Why I fought so hard for Proud ‘n’ Powerful to work? That’s because at one point in time, Mike Santana, you believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. And I spent over a decade trying to repay that favor to you. Sadly, I realized, you were never standing with me, you were just standing next to me. But you being you, you gave me a new sense of purpose, and that’s to hurt you how you hurt me.” But wait, here comes Santana! Ortiz says it must be bright out of he’s wearing shades.

Santana says week after week, and only now does Ortiz pop off. Every week, Ortiz wants to pop off in front of these cameras, but where was he the entire time Santana was out? When he went through surgery? Ortiz says fine, go and put him down. Santana says 14 MONTHS, and he got not one call, not one text. Ortiz asks about the year before that. Santana counters with the time where he had to check himself into rehab, spending 30 days facing his problems? Ortiz “plays the tiniest violin” for Santana. Santana asks where Ortiz, his brother in arms, was for that 14 months. Ortiz says Santana wasn’t talking to him for a whole year before that!

Santana and Ortiz keep arguing their points, but Santana says they should handle this the only way they can. They can put hands to work and do this the right way. The way they do it where they come from! Ortiz says Santana must hate himself but Santana says he loves himself more than anybody here and Ortiz can’t stand it! Oh, finally, some truth! Ortiz says Santana is all about him, him, him. Santana says he was the one taking care of this team! Ortiz says Santana was the one calling Ortiz a crutch, so that must mean Ortiz was holding him up. But Santana says he doesn’t need him anymore. Okay, then Ortiz will take the other knee.

Santana says it wasn’t karma or anything that hurt his knee. It was carrying the Monkey on his back! Santana and Ortiz are ready to end each other, who will truly be the most Proud ‘n’ Powerful?

A huge win for the club to stick it to the Mogul Embassy! But will Bryan Danielson top it all off by winning the TNT Championship? Or will Captain Charisma still be the Face of TNT?

My Thoughts:

A very good Rampage here, and they’re doing better about Rampage not being just a filler hour. Though perhaps Skye VS Emi was technically filler. Good match and good win for Skye, but she needs to show signs of being affected by Julia Hart’s black mist. Julia Hart is away on her honeymoon with Lee Johnson (congratulations to the happy couple) so there needs to be a substitute Lady of the House of Black for right now. And perhaps Skye can leap to that next level of competition if she changes up her style. She’s even getting a title shot on Collision, so maybe something about her changes there.

Great opening Trios with The Hardy Party and X-JAS, and while a bit odd that Menard is so against the Garcia dance, I like the dynamic it is playing and how the fans are definitely on Garcia’s side about it. Commentary did a good job of saying how there’s no new leader in this group yet, and clearly Menard is trying to be, but it might end up one of the others because Menard just can’t handle making decisions with a level head. Sure seems that way given the promo from after. And also good promo from Penta & Alex with Bullet Club Gold, setting up a match for Dynamite. Pretty sure Bang Bang Gang finds a way to screw Penta over, though.

Really good stuff in that Ortiz and Santana promo, felt very real. Though surely that’s them tapping into their real feelings of frustration over how PNP didn’t become tag champs and then Santana got hurt, with their real issues having been resolved already. They’re going to have a great 1v1 match and I bet it’ll be a really wild No Disqualification style match. Really good match from Lethal and Trent with a mostly clean night from Team Triple J. Lethal wins, of course, to get his story with Eddie and the ROH World title going. There’s a good chance Lethal’s match with Eddie happens on AEW TV rather than ROH TV because duh, Tony Khan has been doing that more and more with the ROH belts.

And really good main event tag, Yuta looked great as he survived Kaun’s singles finisher and a lot of damage from the Gates as a duo. Good win for BCC, as I expected, but it doesn’t really change what’s happening against Bryan and Christian on Collision. Though I suppose eventually getting a 4v4 feud of Mogul Embassy VS BCC could be a lot of fun.

My Score: 8.5/10
