The bell rings and the fans fire up as the two circle. Mistico and Rocky feel things out, tie up, and fans chant “LUCHA! LUCHA!” as Rocky powers Mistico back. The ref counts, Rocky lets off to pat Mistico on the head. Fans are torn as Rocky gives some Latino Heat, but then Mistico gives it back. The two reset and tie up again, then Mistico headlocks. Rocky powers out and he runs Mistico over! Fans rally up for “LUCHA LIBRE!” Things speed up, Rocky sweeps the legs to cover, ONE! Mistico sweeps to cover, ONE and Rocky RANAS! Mistico storms back up, rolls Rocky up, but Rocky rolls through to get the pin, TWO!

Things keep moving, Rocky arm-drags! Mistico arm-drags back! Fans cheer as the two stand off. Mistico and Rocky speed up again, and Mistico RANAS! Mistico runs, handsprings, and back elbows! Rocky bails out, fans fire up and Mistico builds speed. Mistico FLIES with the tornillo! Direct hit and down goes Rocky! The fans fire up with Mistico and he goes back to the ring. Fans chant for “MI-STI-CO!” as Rocky gets in. Rocky runs up, Mistico spins him around and clinches, RUSSIAN LEG SWEEP, into a GROUND OCTOPUS! Rocky TAPS, Mistico scores!

The Middleweight Champion scores first and that puts the Welterweight Champion in a tough spot. But then Rocky CLOBBERS Mistico from behind! Rocky won’t let Mistico rest between falls as he TOSSES Mistico out! Fans boo but Rocky RAMS Mistico into the steel steps! Rocky says HE is the best, then drags Mistico back up to put in the ring. Fans tell Rocky off, but he just soaks it up as he goes back in. Rocky RIPS at the mask!! Fans boo the utter disrespect, and the ref counts, too! Rocky lets off at 4, but Mistico’s mask still has a gaping hole in it. Rocky soaks up more heat as Rampage goes picture in picture.

Mistico checks his face under the mask in case Rocky’s nails got him, but then Rocky stomps him down! Rocky stalks Mistico to ropes, drags him up and CHOPS him! Mistico leans against ropes, Rocky snapmares him down, and then runs to basement dropkick! Cover, TWO! Mistico is hanging in there but Rocky looms over him. Rocky drags Mistico back up, scoops, and hits a BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Rocky argues the count but the count was fair, so he goes back to Mistico. Rocky drags Mistico around by the mask, stands him up, and DECKS him! Rocky mocks the fans cheering Mistico on, then rains down fists!

The ref reprimands, Rocky lets off, and Rocky swaggers around to soak up the heat. Rocky then storms up on Mistico, CHOPS him, and whips him corner to corner. Rocky runs in to clothesline! Then again! Then again! Mistico falls and fans boo but Rocky drags Mistico around into a mounted armbar. Rocky claws at the eye that’s exposed! The ref reprimands, Rocky stands Mistico up for a cravat, but Mistico fires body shots! Mistico CHOPS! SOBATS! Mistico whips, Rocky reverses but Mistico handsprings again! Rocky dodges, runs in, but Mistico dodges back to RANA! Fans fire up as Rocky swings, into a knuckle lock!

Mistico pokes Rocky in the eye, KICKS a leg, then goes up and up and FLYING ARM-DRAGS! Fans fire up as Rocky bails out, and Mistico builds speed again. Rocky ducks, so Mistico stops himself. Fans boo but Rocky tells them off. Mistico sighs, waits on Rocky to get on the apron, and then KICKS him down! Mistico goes out, Rocky fires a forearm but Mistico gives it back! They brawl on the apron, Mistico gets the edge, but Rocky JUMP KNEES! Snap suplex to the apron! Rocky leaves Mistico behind, to builds speed! Rocky DIVES and takes Mistico down! Fans boo Rocky but he stalks Mistico up the ramp.

Rocky drags Mistico up and into the ring, then aims from a corner. Rocky looms over Mistico as the fans rally again. Rocky hoists Mistico up top, climbs up after him, and he CLUBS away! SUPERPLEX!! Both men are down and Rocky crawls to cover, TWO!! Mistico hangs tough, the fans chant “SI SE PUEDES!” but Rocky stands Mistico up. Mistico fires off forearms in return! Mistico runs, but into a SOBAT! Fans boo more, but Rocky drags Mistico into a CAMEL CLUTCH! Mistico fights but Rocky bends him back! Fans rally as Mistico endures, and he pops free. Rocky stomps Mistico down!

Rampage returns and Mistico has Rocky up top, to ENZIGURI him down to the floor! Fans fire up as Mistico runs, goes up and up and ESCALARAS! Direct hit on Rocky and the fans are thunderous! Mistico drags Rocky up, puts him in the ring, and covers, TWO!! Rocky survives but Mistico rallies the fans. Mistico whips, Rocky reverses but Mistico springboards to CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! Rocky survives and Mistico grows a little frustrated, but Mistico drags Rocky up. Mistico scoops to SLAM Rocky into a drop zone, then he goes up top. Fans rally, Mistico MOONSAULTS into BOOTS! Rocky roars, runs in, but into a POWERSLAM! Cover, TWO!!

Rocky survives the sudden turnaround but Mistico keeps his cool. Houston fires up again as Rocky goes to a corner. Mistico baits Rocky in, puts him back up, and ENZIGURIS again! Rocky stays up top this time, but Mistico runs in to go up and up and waistlock! Rocky fights the suplex! Cravat and SUPER SLICED BREAD!! Cover, TWO!!! Mistico survives again and fans are thunderous! Rocky snarls, hobbles a bit, but still gives that Latino Heat. Fans boo but Rocky goes to a corner. Rocky climbs, but Mistico stands! Mistico runs and goes up, up, and gets Rocky for a SUPER SPANISH FLY!! Both men are down as Houston lifts off!

Mistico hurries to drag Rocky to a cover, TWO!!! Rocky survives but “This is Awesome!” Mistico roars, his rage boiling up! Mistico drags Rocky up, but Rocky JAWBREAKERS! Stokely Hathaway stood between Eddie Kingston and Team Triple J, in his role as “ROH Board of Director and peacemaker,” as he knew Eddie and Jay Lethal wanted this time to chat. To chat? Eddie rolls his eyes as Stokely tells him to keep his hands to himself, Eddie’s got “sticky fingers.” But who wants to go first? Lethal says he’ll go first. He wanted this time because “Edward” here said Lethal doesn’t deserve a shot at the ROH World Championship. If beating Trent Beretta last week wasn’t enough, then Lethal’s got a laundry list of accomplishments he accrued over an 18 year career that says otherwise.

In fact, anyone who knows a damn about pro-wrestling would have to agree that Lethal doesn’t need to prove anything to be worthy of the title HE put on the map! The others agree, and Lethal says it is a slap in the face! Plus, Lethal, Sonjay and “Uncle Jeff” know the REAL Eddie Kingston. The real Eddie knows this: he doesn’t care about the title, he just wants it because it was once held by his trainer, Homicide, who wasn’t even that good anyway. So Lethal will do Eddie a favor by putting an end to this sad reign as ROH World Champion. Eddie will never live up to Homicide, and he’ll never be like Lethal.

So Lethal will say it, DEMAND IT, one more time that he GETS this ROH World Championship match! Jeff says, “Yeah, pahtna! What’re you gonna say? He’s not asking! He’s demanding! So, Bronx b*tch, whaddya got?” Eddie wants to say something but Stokely has a “genius idea.” Saturday Night Collision in Memphis, Tennessee, we do Jarrett VS Eddie. If and WHEN Jarrett wins, Lethal gets his shot! What’s Eddie think? Stokely doesn’t actually let Eddie speak as he says it is official! But then Eddie takes the mic and he pushes Stokely aside (not even that hard, either, but Stokely still goes flying).

Eddie tells Lethal that he should’ve have mentioned Homicide, got it? And then to Jarrett, “You think I don’t know people like you, dawg? You think I don’t know about the little tricks that you play? You think I don’t know about Memphis wrestling? You think I don’t know?” Karen tries to keep Eddie from getting any closer but he says, “Excuse me, sweetie. Relax.” Eddie keeps saying, “You think I don’t know about the fights that’re there? You think I don’t know about the Concession Stand Brawls? Brother, I grew up on that. There’s something you don’t know, ya little Hillbilly b*tch, is I’m gonna take you out, and I’m gonna eat you alive.”

Eddie says sorry for what’s about to happen to Lethal’s “uncle.” Eddie leaves, and the stakes are raised as this will now be a MEMPHIS STREET FIGHT! Will the Last Outlaw come through for Lethal on earning him that title shot? Or will the Mad King make sure Double J was the Last Outlaw?

Mr. Superbad, The Meat Man and Brother Zay walk into H-Town, and no this isn’t a joke. This is a huge fight to face Freshly Squeezed just 24 hours from now at Battle of the Belts 8! Will Kip get one more shot at Orange Cassidy? Will Johnny Hungy prove The Dark Order are the good guys? Or will everyone be saying #HNNGYEAH with Isiah Kassidy?

The bell rings, the three feel things out, and then Silver bails out to hug Reynolds. Kip CLUBS Kassidy, CLUBS him again, then brings him around to whip. Kassidy reverses but Kip runs him over. Kip flexes, things speed up, and Kassidy hurdles. Kip shoves, Kassidy ducks ‘n’ dodges to arm-drag! Kassidy blocks a kick, slips around to NECKBREAKER! Fans fire up as Kassidy has Kip in a corner, and he gets a HNNG YEAH~ before raining down fists! Silver stops him at four to CLUB Kassidy down! Fans are torn as Silver says he’s friggin’ jacked, baby! Silver stands Kassidy up, back suplexes but Kassidy lands out!

Kassidy dodges, runs, and DROPKICKS! Kassidy kips up, does his dance, and says HE is freakin’ jacked, baby! Fans fire up while Silver bails out, and Kassidy runs to DIVE! Direct hit, and a high-five for the front row. Kassidy then gets back in, and DIVES into a GAMANGIRI! Kip says he’s too smart, and Rampage goes picture in picutre.

Kip stands Kassidy up to ROCK him with a forearm to the corner. Then Kip stomps Kassidy. Kip goes corner to corner, calls his shot, and CANNONBALLS! The Superbad Squad is feeling so good, Butcher is even having a sandwich right now. Looks good. Penelope taunts Kassidy while Kip and Silver argue. Kip gives Silver a kiss on the forehead, then says they can work together on Kassidy. Silver says okay, and the mugging begins! Silver stomps Kassidy, Kip coordinates them, but Kassidy hits back! Kip & Silver beat Kassidy down, then double whip him corner to corner! Kassidy hits buckles hard, and Silver flexes.

Kip drags Kassidy up, scoops him and SLAMS him, then flexes. Kip covers, Silver stops that! Silver argues about the alliance, but Kip says okay, Silver gets a free try. Silver drags Kassidy up, suplexes and covers, but then Kip breaks it! Silver is annoyed that Kip keeps double dealing but Kip says sorry. They shake hands, then Kip drags Kassidy up. Kassidy fires off on both of them! Kip kicks low, DECKS Kassidy, then shakes out his hand as Rampage goes to break.

Rampage returns, Silver is down and Kassidy whips Kip. Kip reverses, Kassidy slides out and avoids Silver, to go up the ramp and come back. Silver pops Kassidy up to the apron but Kassidy mule kicks him away! Kassidy avoids Kip’s haymaker to GAMANGIRI, then Kassidy ASAI MOONSAULTS to take Silver out! Kassidy says it is just that easy, take some notes! Kassidy goes up again, SPRINGBOARD THROWBACK STUNNER! Cover, TWO!! Kassidy is shocked but the ref says his count was fair. Kassidy keeps his cool and uses the “DELETE! DELETE! DELETE!” to call upon the powers of the Hardy Boyz!

Silver snatches this win from Brother Zay, and now he will go after Orange Cassidy tomorrow night in Memphis! Will the Meat Man be the one that is Freshly Squeezed? Or will he be sipping on some Orange Punch?

AEW hears from both Ortiz and Santana.

Ortiz tells Santana, “Last week, you had every opportunity to say something of substance. But instead, you doubled down on that same sad story you’ve been talking for years.” But Santana can’t understand how Ortiz, week after week, can stand here and lie to the people. Ortiz says Santana has made Ortiz out to be an enemy, while Santana asks what happened these past ten YEARS, where they were fighting to make sure they did what they had to so that they could grow and prosper. Ortiz says if Santana wants him as an enemy, fine. He’ll be the villain in this story. And in Philadelphia, in the middle of that ring, they finally fight it out.

Santana says they put the final nail in the coffin, while Ortiz vows to show Santana who the real man in the team is. Who wins out to prove they’re truly Proud ‘n’ Powerful? We find out next week on Rampage!

Keith staggers up, Exodus tags in but Yuta tags Claudio. Exodus storms up into an atomic drop, and then Yuta sets him up for a LARIAT! Cool Hand Ange certainly hopes so. But then Daddy Magic speaks up, apologizes to Parker and Renee, but says it isn’t even about the dance anymore. His problem is Garcia’s blatant disrespect for Menard! Garcia doesn’t wanna listen to anybody, he has a real problem!

Hager shouts down the arguing, and he tells them all the figure this out. He didn’t give up his hat for this! Hager storms off, and Anna says he is right. Squash the beef. If they want to have any chance of winning on Saturday, get it together right now. Parker agrees, too! This is ridiculous! Garcia and Menard are arguing like an episode of Sex and The City! If they wanna win on Saturday, squash it! Simple as that. Menard says, “You want me to squash it? YOU WANT ME TO SQUASH IT!? HUH!?” He hates that dance, but he loves Garcia, so this is squashed. They shake hands, and Garcia says you are looking at the NEW AEW World Trios Champions.

And then a POWERBOMB!! Cover, TWO!! Ruby survives and Skye is shrieking! Skye hammers away with forearms, Saraya protests and gets on the apron, but that just gets Skye’s attention! Saraya takes a swing, Skye ducks it to DECK Saraya! Fans fire up but Ruby runs up again! NO FUTURE!! Cover, TWO?!?! Skye survives and no one can believe it! Saraya says to end this, and Ruby drags Skye up. Ruby clinches, DESTI- NO, BACKSLIDE! TWO!

Ruby stands, wrenches, but Skye blocks the kick to stand Ruby up! Skye KNEES Ruby, full nelsons, and SKYE- NO, Ruby arm-drags free! Saraya SMACKS Skye with the spray paint can!! And BACKHANDS her with it for good measure!! Ruby then reels Skye in just to roll her up, Ruby wins!!

The Knight was the insurance policy for the Runaway, but then the Outcasts mug Skye! Fans boo as these two are sore winners! But wait! Here comes Kris Statlander! The Galaxy’s Greatest chases Ruby & Saraya off as she still sees Skye as a friend. Saraya tells Kris off but she still retreats with Ruby. Kris wants to help Skye up, but Skye pushes her away? Kris doesn’t understand Skye’s deal, but is this just Skye’s frustrations? Or is there something more sinister at work?

My Thoughts:

A really good Rampage, though a much stronger first half than second half. Claudio & Yuta of course squash their opponents, and there aren’t even interactions with Starks & Morrissey because Starks & Morrissey are too big for Rampage (no pun intended). And a great main event from Skye VS Ruby, though of course Skye gets cheated. Skye showing more of that anger and aggression continues to push the idea of her Heel turn and joining The House of Black. Kris got a good save here, and Skye pushing her away also adds to her coming Heel turn. Though, thinking about it, where was Willow Nightingale? She’s the one facing Kris for the title, after all.

And not to be mean to the women when AEW already does a half in, half out job of booking the division, but the other two matches are more main event material. If I had to choose, I’d have gone with the Triple Threat. Mistico VS Rocky was great stuff being 2 outta 3 falls, but even if no title was actually on the line, I figured Mistico was gonna win. The Triple Threat was great, and for me, was more main event material because I was honestly surprised Silver won. But that’s great, cuz Silver VS Cassidy is a fresh match-up, and could lead to a larger feud of Dark Order VS Best Friends, which would be some great stuff.

Good promos to set up other stuff, too. Santana and Ortiz have a great promo, and their match next week for Rampage is going to be great stuff. Kinda wish it was Philly Street Fight but maybe they want to ease into the feud since neither Ortiz or Santana have wrestled on AEW in quite awhile. And really good promo from Stokely, Eddie Kingston and Team Triple J to set up a big match for Collision. That Memphis Street Fight will be great stuff, IF Triple J doesn’t get involved. We can’t have another overbooked mess like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre match, just give us Eddie VS Jarrett and that’s it. Though, at the same time, how is Jarrett gonna beat Eddie 1v1 to get Lethal his title match? So I guess Triple J has to cheat to help Jarrett in order to give us Eddie VS Lethal.
