The NEW AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe, said, “I am not a prophet. But I gave you the future. I am not a seer, but I saw what the future held. And it was the championship. I am not a man who makes declarations, I’m a man who keeps promises. MJF, not too long ago at Grand Slam, you used everything within your power to steal from me my rightful championship. And you thought somehow, someway, that I would be like the rest of the scumbags here in New York and appreciate you for what you do. No, MJF. No, Maxwell Jacob Friedman. What you do to me I revisit upon you a thousandfold!
“You embarrassed me, you cheated, and you used everything within your disposal to take this from me. And I turned everyone you loved against you. I showed up to your neighborhood, in front of your friends and family, and I took everything from you. You may be a scumbag, MJF, but I’m a heartless SOB. And in a world that is not big enough for men like you and I to occupy at the same time, I will always, ALWAYS… take what is mine. I am Samoa Joe, I am the AEW World Champion. And I will take everything from anyone who tries to take this from me.”
Adam Cole is here!
Newark, New Jersey is torn as the pyro goes off, but then the music changes. For Adam Cole is… UNDISPUTED! He is accompanied by his treacherous cohorts, Roderick Strong, Mike Bennett, Matt Taven & Wardlow, as he walks down the ramp, still on crutches. Cole shows off the devil mask he took from MJF, has the “BOOM!” and then joins his henchmen in the ring. They set up a chair for him to take a seat, and Roderick has the mic. Roddy tells “Everybody, shut up, and listen to my best friend, ADAAAAAM!” Fans boo even harder but Cole takes the mic to say, “What? You guys don’t have sympathy for me?”
Cole finds it so, so ironic that so many people were disgusted, appalled, and shocked by what happened at Worlds End. Which to Cole means two things. One: you’re all STUPID! And two: you don’t understand right from wrong. You all think COLE is the villain? That these five are the villains because Cole betrayed MJF? MJF, the guy who has created more enemies in AEW than anyone ever? The guy who for YEARS, has run his mouth about every person in that locker room, and the fans, but then Cole is the villain? If that makes Cole the Devil of AEW, then buy him a first class ticket straight to Hell.
Fans tell Cole he’s an A-Hole, but Cole says MJF is a narcissist. “The only person that MJF cares about is MJF, and MJF, he’s had his claws hooked into AEW for far too long. And I think it’s about damn time that there was a change.” Fans chant “He’s Our Scumbag!” Cole says that one day, and a lot of people already do now, but the rest of that locker room will THANK Cole! Even the FANS will thank him! And even TONY KHAN will thank Cole! Because the fact is, MJF is gone and he’s never coming back! Fans boo that, but Cole mocks them. “How could you, Adam?” There’s a lot of reasons why he did.
The second MJF felt he didn’t need Cole anymore, he would’ve done the exact same thing. Cole just beat MJF to the punch. That’s the keyword, though: “Need.” Adam Cole never needed MJF, MJF needed Adam Cole. Cole sacrificed everything within that friendship! For God’s sakes, that’s how Cole broke his ankle! Cole is the one who lost something, NOT MJF. “MJF needed Adam Cole. As a matter of fact, none of you would be cheering or chanting for MJF without Adam Cole. Better Than You Baybay made you fall in love with MJF, that’s ME!” Cole saved MJF’s world championship reign, and then he ended it.
“Because in the beginning, this was all about the AEW World Championship. But then it turned into something so, so much more. This is about destroying a man to his core. This is about ripping out a man’s heart and bringing him to his knees. Because you can chant all you want, but boys and girls, MJF is DEAD.” Fans tell Cole to STFU but Cole holds up the devil mask. He’s telling us now who is very much alive, and that is the Undisputed Kingdom! Fans boo but Cole says aside for their disdain for a guy who doesn’t work here anymore, they have one united desire, and that is championship gold.
Cole says we have the ROH World Tag Team Champions, Matt Taven & Mike Bennett. Then Cole’s REAL best friend, Roderick Strong, will be aiming for the AEW International Championship. And Wardlow, finally with a group of people who actually respect him, is going to go after THE AEW World Championship. And when the time is right, and Cole is 100% healed, Wardlow will do the right thing and forfeit that title to him. That sounds familiar. But Cole says speaking of that title, congratulations to Samoa Joe. Joe, it was an absolute pleasure doing business with you. It was no problem taking out Hangman Page for him.
But Cole does sincerely mean this. He hopes that by the time Wardlow is ready to challenge for the title, Joe is not the champion. Because it’d really suck to hurt a friend. Cole grins and continues to say that self-esteem is built on action, and they took action. They were sick and tired of waiting for things to change, so they took action! AEW needed change, and they’ve given it to you. The Undisputed Kingdom starts a new chapter here in AEW. And The Devil is here to stay, baybay. Mic drop and the mission is clear. Will AEW soon be ruled by the new devil in town?
Wait, Bullet Club Gold is here?! Jay White has a mic of his own and he has the music cut. Switchblade says, “My good friend, Adam Cole Baybay! Or as he’s now known to be, The Devil, huh?” White admits, he’s impressed. He’s happy that Cole didn’t lose his edge. And that was hell of a plan. White’s a big fan of what they did to ol’ MJF. But what White doesn’t like is being collateral for Cole’s cause as the catalyst in this. They all jumped White when he was all by his lonesome. But now we know it was Cole under the mask, and White ain’t alone. Here come The Gunns! Wardlow gets Cole outta there, BCG brawls with Roddy, Taven & Bennett!
Fans fire up as BCG has the edge but then Wardlow returns to tip the scales 4v3! Cole cheers his guys as they stomp away on White, Austin & Colten, but here comes THE ACCLAIMED! They were also beat down by The Undisputed Kingdom, and they run them all off! Unlikely allies stand against Cole and his henchmen, but then they all stare down. The fans chant for them to “SCISSOR! SCISSOR!” but no, BCG bails out. They’re not willing to work with Acclaimed & Daddy Ass against their common enemies, so who gets their shots at The Undisputed Kingdom first?
AEW shares more footage from after Worlds End.
AEW Media asked if the Continental Classic “changed” Eddie Kingston. The Mad King says yeah, of course it did. It gave him this weird thing he didn’t know he have: confidence. A highlight reel plays of his run, starting 0-2 but making the huge comeback over Claudio, Garcia and Andrade to then beat Bryan in the semifinals. They are all some of the best wrestlers he’s ever seen. But the best part was that it came down to him and Moxley. Beating his brother in arms, Eddie now has so much confidence that it’ll take someone special to take these titles from him.
Well, speaking of, there will be a Continental Title Eliminator FATAL FOUR WAY! Trent Berretta, Brian Cage, Bryan Keith and El Hijo Del Vikingo all battle it out for their shot at the crown this Saturday on Collision! Who makes it through that star-studded match to go after The Mad King’s throne?
Daniel Garcia speaks.
“I dunno if it’s just me, but this feels like a little bit of a mission statement for AEW, putting the two youngest, hottest stars up against each other for the first show of the year. Swerve Strickland VS Daniel Garcia. And Swerve, your theme song, ‘Big Pressure,’ that’s what it’s called, right? The big pressure you apply. But what happens when you apply pressure to somebody that doesn’t fold. To somebody that doesn’t break. To somebody that, no matter how much life throws at him, he keeps going forward and keeps fighting and keeps pushing and keeps doing his thing. When you apply pressure to that, let’s see what happens.
“Swerve, it doesn’t matter how much pressure you try to apply to me, I will not fold and you will not beat me. Because tonight, first Dynamite of the year, Daniel Garcia fights through the pressure and beats Swerve Strickland.” Red Death is ready, but will he make it through entering whose house?

The Undisputed Kingdom just issued their warning to all champions, but Cassidy is a fighting champion! Will he be the one facing down the Savior of the Backbreaker? Or will giving out this opportunity to Angel Dorado come back to bite him?

Both men turned it up a notch, but it was still Cassidy with the hot hand to win it! #HookHausen and Top Flight make their way out to check on their guys. Cassidy shows Dante respect by helping him up and shaking his hand. Dante came close, will he, Darius and Action still make 2024 their breakout year?
“Oh my God, is that Private Party?” WHAT? Yes! Marq Quen is back from injury, rolling with his tag partner, Isiah Kassidy! Private Party is crashing the party as it were to celebrate their reunion! Kassidy gets fans to echo, “YEEEAH~!” Quen then says, “Allow me to reintroduce ourselves. This is Zay, and I’m Quen. And we been keeping tabs on the Tag Division. It’s kinda been lacking.” The fans chant “Welcome Back! Welcome Back!” Quen smiles, and continues by saying “The Tag Division’s been missing some…” Zay says, “Flava.” “The Tag Division’s been missing some…” “Excitement.” “And most importantly, the Tag Division’s been missing PRIVATE PARTAAAY~!”
Fans cheer that and Private Party enters the ring. Zay says with all that said, Private Party is putting every team on notice. That means OrangeHookHausen, that means Top Flight, and that means FTR, Young Bucks, and even the Hardys. But hey, listen. They say, “New Year, New Me.” Nah, this is New Year, New Champs! If y’all feelin’ that, give Zay a “HUHN~ YEAH~!” “HUHN~ YEAH~!” Zay & Quen are ready to finally have some gold to call their own, what will Ricky Starks & “Big Bill” have to say about that?
Backstage interview with “Timeless” Toni Storm.
Renee is with the AEW Women’s World Champion and butler, Luther, and Renee congratulates Storm on retaining her title at Worlds End. But now, the New Year! What does 2024 have in store for Storm? Storm first wants to say Renee’s perfume is very overwhelming. And secondly, Storm was very excited to come here, until she realized it isn’t New York but New Jersey. It’s just not really her scene. She belongs on Broadway. So she has decided to call it a night, will head to Manhattan, go to Sardi’s, and hold a seance for Stephen Sondheim. Uh, okay. But up next is Mariah May’s in-ring debut, and has been practically begging for Storm to watch her.
Oh, darling, Storm doesn’t watch wrestling. Besides, how hard can it be? Mariah has to pay her dues, so what better way to do that than wrestle in New Jersey? Luther, scoop. Luther scoops Storm up into his arms, and Storm says, “And remember: Chin, tits, shoe!” Storm just kicks one of her shoes off and it flies overhead! Luther takes Madame Storm away, but will Storm’s number one fan have her first win in AEW even without her hero around?
The House of Black speaks.
Malakai and Buddy walk out from the shadows, and Malakai says, “So you wanna fight us? So you wanna challenge us? Okay. Alright. Challenge accepted. But um… We’ll do it in a place where we can cut you deep.” Buddy says it’ll be in North Carolina, in front of FTR’s friends and family. In front of Dax’s daughter, Finlay, his wife Maria, and well, if Cash has found anyone that loves him, bring them along, too. However, if the House wins, FTR must walk up to their family and disown them. Then they will have to watch Dax & Cash walk back with their new family.
Malakai tells Finlay, don’t worry. The tears that daddy Dax will cry will not be of sadness. They will be tears of joy as he realizes he is finally home with a family that truly, truly loves him. Will the House grow after this coming Collision? Or will the Top Guys tear them down?
Backstage interview with Swerve Strickland & Prince Nana.
Renee is now with The Realest and his right hand man, and brings up tonight’s main event. Swerve will be facing a man who has also been garnering himself quite a lot of attention lately in one Daniel Garcia. How does Swerve feel about Garcia being his first opponent of 2024? Nana says they get it, okay? Garcia is a very respected competitor. But does he realize who he’s getting in the ring with? The Boss of the Bosses! “Right, boss?” Swerve chuckles and says Garcia was a Blue League guy, they never got to face off in the Continental Classic, but Swerve saw him have a good showing.
The reason Garcia is getting this match is because Swerve respects the fact Garcia is after the same things Swerve was after in 2023, and that was championship gold. Garcia was talking about big pressure and not folding or whatever. But the thing is, big pressure isn’t about making diamonds. It’s about bringing pain, and that is what Garcia goes through tonight. Now, talking about 2024, Swerve wants to accomplish something he wasn’t able to in 2023, and that is to get championship gold. And not just any gold. At first, Swerve thought he’d be addressing MJF, but seems MJF’s body couldn’t take it anymore.
So now it is up to you, Samoa Joe. Swerve will be coming for that championship, so be ready. Swerve smiles, Nana asks, “Whose house?” Everyone is aiming for the King of Wrestling Television, but will it be Swerve that gets the killshot?
Mariah May VS Queen Aminata!
The former Stardom star, the superfan of Toni Storm, is finally ready to show her own skills to AEW. Will she follow right in the footsteps of Storm? Or will she fail to live up to those expectations?
The bell rings and the fans rally as the two circle. New Jersey hails their Queen, and she steps to Mariah. Aminata talks some trash, but Mariah SLAPS her! Fans boo, but then Mariah kicks Aminata low, then ROCKS her! Then throws her down by her hair! Mariah soaks up the heat, drags Aminata up, but Aminata throws body shots! Mariah dodges the chop to CHOP, then CHOPS again! Mariah whips, Aminata reverses but Mariah tilt-o-whirls to RANA! Mariah runs to SHOTGUN Aminata down! Cover, ONE!! Aminata shows her toughness but Mariah puts her on ropes. Mariah hooks her up in the ropes, then runs to SHOTGUN Aminata int he back!
Aminata tumbles to the floor and Mariah smiles. Some fans have been won over and Mariah blows kisses while Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Mariah walks around to soak up the cheers and jeers, then opens the ropes for Aminata. Aminata staggers to her feet, Mariah goes out after her, and Mariah SMACKS Aminata off the apron. Mariah puts Aminata in the ring, stalks her, then drags her up to bump her off buckles. Mariah CHOPS, then CHOPS, then stalks Aminata to another corner. Mariah CHOPS Aminata again, and follows her to another corner. Mariah CHOPS Aminata, stomps a mudhole into her, then snapmares for a straitjacket stretch. Aminata endures, fans rally up, and Aminata fights around. Mariah throws her down to thrash her around!
Aminata bridges up, but Mariah kicks low! Mariah snap suplexes, covers, TWO! Aminata is hanging in there but Mariah keeps her down with a chinlock. Mariah leans on the hold, Aminata endures and fights up to throw body shots. Aminata runs but Mariah LARIATS her down! Mariah hurries over, kneels on the cover, TWO! Mariah is frustrated but she drags Aminata up to bump her off buckles. Dynamite returns to single picture, Mariah puts Aminata up top, and Mariah puts some stank on her DOUBLE CHOP! Aminata sputters, Mariah goes corner to corner and runs up, to STRATUS-
NO, Aminata blocks! She pushes Mariah back, BOOTS her, then bobs ‘n’ weaves to SLAP! Fans fire up and Mariah is furious, btu Aminata SLAPS and SLAPS and then ducks to DOUBLE CHOP! Aminata LARIATS, spins, snapmares and KICKS Mariah in the back! Fans fire up as Aminata RUNNING KNEES! Mariah flounders to a corner, Aminata runs in, BIG forearm! Aminata hooks Mariah up, puts some stank on her DOUBLE CHOPS! Then Aminata runs corner to corner, another BIG forearm! Aminata keeps moving, but Mariah SLINGBLADES! Fans fire up, Mariah stands Aminata up and fireman’s carries. MAY DAY!! Cover, Mariah wins!
Winner: Mariah May, by pinfall
A powerful debut for Mariah, will she prove herself worthy of a title opportunity in the New Year?
Renee appears to interview Mariah in the ring and says after much anticipation, congratulations on the first win, how does it feel? Mariah says, “I can’t believe it! I won my AEW debut! I wanted to be a wrestler since I was a little kid, so the fact that I’m in this ring, on AEW, is surreal to me. And I hope Ms. Toni Storm, wherever she is, is watching and she’s proud. Because it’s the first Dynamite of the New Year, and it’s all about Mariah! But… My only regret is we had to do this in New Jersey.” Fans boo, they were just starting to like her! But wait! DEONNA PURRAZZO is here!? The Virtuosa and New Jersey’s own is now in AEW!
Deonna goes down to the ring to rain on Mariah’s parade, and Renee makes the official introductions. “Deonna, it is incredible to see you here in AEW.” The fans chant for Deonna, and she tells Renee that while Renee knows this, but uh, Deonna’s from New Jersey. And if Toni Storm doesn’t wanna be here, well then they don’t want her here, either! But Mariah… Here’s a message to pass along to Ms. Storm. It doesn’t matter where she Storm runs or hides, Deonna will find her. Because Mariah, Deonna IS All Elite! The fans fire up for that news! And now, this is the Age of the Virtuosa! The fans cheer for “NEW JERSEY!” as Deonna smiles.
Mariah says okay, then, Deonna. But she’s not a messenger, so tell Storm yourself, b*tch! And then she SLAPS Deonna! So Deonna SLAPS and BOOTS Mariah down! Fans fire up as Mariah scrambles away. Will the leading lady have to watch out that the spotlight doesn’t move on to a new shining star?
Christian Cage is here!
New Jersey is oddly excited to see Captain Charisma and The Patriarchy making their way out here. The now TWO-TIME TNT Champion is here with “Mother Wayne,” Nick Wayne, and Killswitch/Luchasaurus. Tony Schiavone is in the ring to say Christian has put himself in some legendary company, prestigious even, by becoming TNT Champion a second-time, at Worlds End. Shayna takes the mic first, and fans boo. She is offended that they’d boo her! A mother?! How DARE you! She demands you people get on your feet right now and pay respect to the “greatest TNT Champion that’s ever lived,” The Father, The Patriarch, Christian Cage!
Christian tells them all to keep it down while he conducts business. But to answer the question, Schiavone, yes. It has been 200 DAYS since Christian won this title on the very first episode of Collision. It has been a historic run for sure. No, no, wait, that- Schiavone, if you interrupt Christian again, he will have Mother Wayne bend Schiavone over her knee and discipline him here in front of all these “sweat hogs” in New Jersey. Actually, these sweat hogs could use some discipline themselves. Sit down and shut up! Fans boo but Christian says it is no secret that he went through a war to defend this championship, and he feels there are some people he needs to thank.
First off, Christian will thank Mother Wayne, the Matriarch, for being so loving, so nurturing and so understanding. A mother’s work is truly never done. Secondly, Christian would like to thank his “pride and joy,” his boy, Nick Wayne, who so selflessly put his body on the line. Adam Copeland put this young man through a flaming table, and tried to end his career at just 18 years old! Fans cheer that, that was wild. But Nick sucked it up, stayed in the fight, so Christian just wants to say, he loves ya, son. They hug, and Christian says lastly, but certainly not least, he will thank the man that sealed the victory at Worlds End.
Christian thanks the man that put the final nail int he coffin that is Adam “Edge” Copeland. Christian thanks himself! Fans boo and Luchasaurus feels foolish for thinking Christian meant him. The fans chant for Luchasaurus, which surprises him. Christian ignores that to say it is his duty to address Adam Copeland for what he hopes is the final time. Christian has beat Edge twice! 2-0, and it is now to the back of the line. No more title shots for you, Edge! Christian could stand here and make light of the fact that Edge grew up without a father. How Edge’s mother is no longer with us.
But the fact is, Edge must now wake up every morning, look himself in the mirror, and realize what Christian has been saying for years: Christian Cage is SUPERIOR to Edge!! Fans boo more but Christian won’t deny that Edge brought the fight. They beat the crap outta each other, dragged each other through the mud, and left a little bit of their souls in the ring that night. But the difference is, one of them doesn’t have a soul! That’s why Christian stands here and still TNT Champion! Fans boo but Christian puts out a warning to anyone who has eyes for his TNT Championship. What happened at Worlds End was just a glimpse, the tip of the iceberg, of what he’s willing to do to hold onto this title!
Christian doesn’t want anyone to forget that this title was thrown on the scrapheap, and he picked it up and has now made it the most prestigious title in ALL of AEW! The fans still chant for Luchasaurus but Christian tells them to shut up. That man’s name is Killswitch! Christian continues to say that the TNT Championship is now the most important title in all of AEW! And Christian will remain TNT Champion for as long as he wants, until he decides it is time to hand it off to his Prodigy, Nick Wayne, to carry on the family legacy. No one will ever forget that THIS is the Patriarchy, they run AEW, are the Faces of AEW now, then and forever!
Fans continue to boo as Christian holds up the title. But with Luchasaurus being shoved into his shadow, what will it take for Luchasaurus to stand up for himself and be his own man?
Backstage interview with The Outcasts.
Renee is with Saraya, Harley Cameron & Ruby Soho, and she congratulates The Runaway on her win last week. Though a little helping hand from Harley. Harley says more like a helping face. And Saraya says she was right, wasn’t she? Harley even looks the part. Yeah, she is committed to this role. No, it’s not a role, Harley. But what does Ruby think? Does she love it or does she love it? Ruby says she has to admit, she thought this was just another blonde out of her mind joining the team, that didn’t work so well last time. Saraya says this is a different kind of crazy. But Ruby does appreciate the help.
Harley wants them to know she will prove herself. She is so ready to be an Outcast. She would do anything for either of them. And she means anything. Right, Saraya? Well, Saraya said Harley would be helpful, not sane. But anyway, let’s all get going. Saraya thanks Renee, and tells Harley to cool it, she’s gonna give it away. Renee asks what is going on here, but Saraya says she loves Renee, but please. They all leave, and Renee is as confused as the rest of us. Is this about more than just adding a new teammate?
Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita w/ Don Callis!
The Relentless Icons and Le Sex Gods won big at Worlds End against the combined forces of the Don Callis Family and the AEW World Tag Team Champions. However, the battles never end, and now Darby battles The Alpha 1v1. Callis joins commentary, will he keep from affecting this outcome?
The bell rings and the two circle. They tie up, Darby waistlocks, but Takeshita switches. Takeshita lifts and SLAMS Darby, but Darby gets back up. Darby hobbles a bit, shakes it off, and the two tie up with knuckle locks. Darby wrenches, WRINGS, steps over, La Magistrol, TWO! Takeshita goes to a corner, dodges the Coffin Splash, but then Darby goes up and over as Takeshita returns. Takeshita still chases after Darby but Darby slips around to waistlock, only for Takeshita to buck the O’Conner. Takeshita then rolls back, reaches up, and headscissors into a victory roll, that he then turns into a WHEELBARROW GERMAN! But Darby lands on his feet?!
The fans are thunderous and even Callis admits that was good. Darby eggs Takeshita on and they circle. They tie up, Takeshita knees low then CLUBS Darby. Takeshita whips, and he back drops Darby HIGH! Darby writhes but Takeshita storms up on him. Takeshita headlocks and grinds Darby down. Darby fights up, but Takeshita hits a takeover. Darby endures as Takeshita grinds the head and traps an arm. Darby fights up, the fans rally, and Darby claws Takeshita’s eyes! The ref reprimands but Darby powers out of the headlock. Takeshita turns things around to whip but Darby springboards to FLYING ARM-DRAG!
Fans fire up again as Takeshita bails out. Darby builds speed and he DIVES into a KNEE!! Fans lose their minds and Takeshita snarls while Darby sits up in a daze. Takeshita drags Darby up, puts him in the ring, then drags him back out hard! Darby hits the ramp, crawls around, and fans boo as Takeshita soaks up the heat. Takeshita then lines up a shot, deadlifts him and takes him further up the ramp, to O’Conner, and O’Conner, and CHAOS THEORY down the ramp! A few weeks ago, Samoa Joe had a bunch of goons put him through a car windshield, so he is here tonight to beat somebody’s ass! If he can’t find the AEW World Champion, then it’ll be Adam Cole. Now they drag Swerve back, but neither man is cooling down! Will these two go another round before either gets the target they want?
My Thoughts:
A great first Dynamite for 2024 but also just a great Dynamite to follow Worlds End. Really good cold open promo from Samoa Joe, and great opening promo from Adam Cole to introduce the now “Undisputed Kingdom.” And that thing about Wardlow handing over the title to Cole is (perhaps) more tongue-in-cheek about how MJF tried to do that with Wardlow and the TNT Championship. But I like that because of all the enemies The Undisputed Kingdom made, we essentially have Face Bullet Club Gold, or at least Tweener. The tension when BCG and Acclaimed were in the ring together was good stuff, too. Also feels like we could get a Trios Triple Threat or something, BCG VS Acclaimed & Billy VS Roddy, Taven & Bennett.
Great International Championship match with Dante looking great even in defeat. But what an interesting moment to send out Private Party. Great to see that Quen is back all the same, can’t wait to see them finally get towards the titles. Great promo from Toni Storm before she of course leaves and doesn’t watch Mariah’s match. Mariah had a really good match with Aminata, but wow, Deonna Purrazzo showing up was a wild surprise. Deonna is clearly going to be Storm’s next challenger with this, just not sure they can stretch it to Revolution. Unless they actually use the ranking system again and make Deonna go on a win streak first.
Good promo from the new and improved(?) Outcasts. But I do like the hint at this just being a plot to keep Ruby away from Angelo Parker. It’s definitely going to blow up in Saraya’s face, though. Good promo from House of Black to call out FTR and put the unofficial stipulation on the tag match this Saturday. I’m not really sure what’ll come of either result, though. If FTR wins, House of Black can try and just tear FTR down completely. But if FTR loses, are they really forced to join The House of Black?
Awesome match out of Darby VS Takeshita with a great win for Takeshita, but it seems like the Don Callis Family is all about not letting go of feuds. Relentless Icons VS Takeshita & Hobbs will be great stuff but I dunno, it still feels like Sting wins again. At the same time, this might be to keep Jericho out of the spotlight while sorting out the allegations, so Don Callis Family has to shift gears to another target. Great promo from Eddie Kingston, and awesome Fatal 4 Way to determine a #1 contender, but uh… Is the title officially named the Continental Crown Championship and not just the Continental Championship? That makes it very confusing when there’s also this triple crown stuff going on.
I do find it intriguing that Trent’s starting to show some Heelish tactics, I wonder how this affects the Best Friends faction. Great inclusion of Danhausen in that match, too. Great promos from Garcia and Swerve ahead of their awesome main event, and even from Hangman wanting after pretty much all the top Heels in AEW right now. Hangman VS Swerve a third time after Swerve’s already won twice seems a bit strange, but I suppose it won’t be disappointing. With Cole still unable to wrestle because of his bad ankle, I would think Swerve gets his shot at Joe first, maybe at Revolution after getting through Hangman and maybe even Wardlow.
And great promo segment from Christian Cage and his faction. They cut Schiavone off a little too soon, but it was clear Christian considers his reign still continuing, no interruptions just because Edge beat him and then Luchasaurus gave up his own title shot. Classic bait ‘n’ switch of Christian making it sound like he was thanking Luchasaurus but then thanking himself. Luchasaurus just has to lose his cool and beat the crap out of Christian so that they have a title match. As great as Christian has been, Luchasaurus should’ve won at Worlds End, and so he should win whenever and wherever they have this title match.
My Score: 8.9/10

Renee Paquette is there to bring up tonight’s main event is Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita for the AEW World Championship. If Darby Allin wins, MJF will then have to sign a contract for Title VS Hair at Double or Nothing. Darby has made it clear that if MJF doesn’t sign said contract, Darby will never allow MJF to face him for the title again. We all know how important the title is for MJF, but is MJF willing to put his hair on the line for it? MJF just chuckles and moves on, but he notices the very bald Rick Knox, Bryce Remsburg, and the head of security, David Aponte. And then various bald members of the production staff…
And then even Christopher Daniels & Sonjay Dutt are there! Daniels and Sonjay chuckle before moving on, and then MJF sees John Silver flexing. Brandon Cutler, some arena staff, and even Tommaso Ciampa, all bald. Then last but certainly not least, Ricochet! He tells MJF that don’t worry, he’ll look great. Just not as good as Ricochet. AHA~! MJF storms off, will he have no choice but to choose between gold belt and chrome dome?

Another star-studded 10 Man Tag, and it was a huge win for all the hungry contenders. Christian doesn’t wanna celebrate, but he does signal that he and Cope will be champions. Will putting their tag team legacy on the line be enough to take the gold? Or will Double or Nothing be the last night that team reeks of awesomeness?
Will Ospreay continues to train with The Death Riders.
They’re outside this time, Claudio Castagnoli playing some wall ball with Marina Shafir and Pac. Daniel Garcia says, “Tonight is the night that we’ve all been waiting for: The Aerial Assassin, Will Ospreay, is cleared and back on Dynamite. And rumor has it, the kid’s been working real hard and he’s got some new tricks up his sleeves. So Young Boy Billy, tonight you gotta show me something, c’mon.” Garcia gets a quick turn in on wall ball while cameras move over. Ospreay is maintaining a neck bridge while Jon Moxley uses Wheeler Yuta as a living dummy to show just how to push and pull and bend and twist on the various chinlocks and headlocks.
Use the right arm to push against the head, then snake in the left arm for the sleeper. Pry and shoot. Moxley asks how Ospreay feels. Ospreay lets off the bridge and says honestly, the best he’s felt in forever. Moxley asks if Ospreay remembers the night he won the Best of the Super Juniors. Yeah, 2019. AKA a lifetime ago. Ospreay was carefree, flew like a bird, for no other reason than that’s just what birds do. So simple back then, chasing that feeling, like no other feeling in the world. Can’t really grab it in your hands for more than a few seconds. The joy of doing it. Then everybody comes in and tries to make it so overcomplicated.
Years pass, life happens, a family starts, responsibilities show up, bad things happen, bad choices catch up to you, and it’s all weight on your shoulders. You feel like you can’t fly. But Moxley will tell you something: Nothing is different. Nothing has changed. All those things are still gonna be there, but you can still fly. You’re just more dangerous now. You’re a bird of prey. So tonight, when you got out there, don’t go out there to protect anything. Not your neck, your image, your reputation, or what you’ve built in your career. Go out there to give something. Moxley checks on Yuta and says dammit, if you’re gonna snap a headlock, snap the headlock!
Moxley storms off to instruct his pupil, but will Ospreay use everything he has been taught to great effect? Or will he have to fold against Ace Austin?
Chris Jericho speaks.
“You wanna face Jericho in a match of my own design, Ricochet? A spectacle so innovative, so imaginative, it cannot be contained, it can only be witnessed. Well, be careful what you demand, because you’ve made a few enemies yourself, Ricochet. And now a match designed specifically to settle scores without any, and I mean AAANY~, limitations has gotten even bigger.” Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate were just looking for two more, but “Jungle” Jack Perry said he can bring four: himself, The Young Bucks, and KENNY OMEGA! Jericho tells Ricochet that this is no longer what he designed, but it is a devil’s dance of destruction! Ricochet’s destruction!
Ricochet got what he wanted, now can he handle it? Bald. The first-ever SEVEN VS SEVEN Stadium Stampede, who will even survive?
Ricochet & The Demand respond.
They stand with Mark Davis of the Don Callis Family and Ricochet says we all know Jericho does a lot of talking out of his ass while The Demand gets things done. Just like Davis did when he defeated Jack for the AEW National Championship at Fairway to Hell. Hold it with pride, Davis, Ricochet knows you’ll do it well. Davis says he’s got this. Ricochet says Davis has joined the dream team, but he’s not the only one. Because compliments to Ricochet’s golfing buddy, Don Callis, look who else he’s sending: Andrade El Idolo! Gracias, amigo. But it doesn’t stop there, the train keeps rolling. Ricochet was just approached by two guys who have an ax to grind with the superkick sidekicks.
These two wanna fill out the last two spots, so who is Ricochet to say no to The Dogs? Finlay & Connors storm in, and Finlay says to put it simple, they will fight The Bucks in the streets, in the ring, but guess it’s fighting at Double or Nothing! If they want violence, if they want carnage, if they want chaos, who better than The Dogs?! The Dogs bark and Liona roars, but will these seven stand tall in the Big Apple?
“Speedball” Mike Bailey w/ Kevin Knight VS BK Westbrook!
JetSpeed has a lot of momentum on their side, and as stated last week at Fairway to Hell, they’re looking to grab up all the gold they can. Will Speedball keep on rolling towards his own golden opportunity? Or will #Supastud prove his own worth?

Bailey stays on his feet, then steps over to sit down on a cover, TWO! Westbrook ducks a Penalty Kick, avoids the moonsault, and the sweep! At Stadium Stampede, bring your friends, bring any weapon you want, and I will crack you over the skull with it. Because anything goes. But after that, it’s back to grass roots, because it is you and me, fighting for a shot at the world title at All In: London. And in the Owen Hart Tournament, I will prove to you beyond a shadow of a doubt that I’m a better wrestler than you. I am the FUTURE world champion!

Winner: Will Ospreay, by submission
That might’ve been Ospreay’s first win by submission ever! He signals that his neck is no longer a problem, and he shows Ace respect for that fight. Ace accepts the handshake again, and Ospreay is moving on towards Double or Nothing with a great amount of momentum. But wait! SAMOA JOE is here! He and The Opps walk out on stage, and with mic in hand, Joe says, “Ospreay, Ospreay… OSPREAY, OSPREAY!” Joe is clearly mocking the chants for Ospreay, and the fans give genuine chanting and even singing in return. Joe says he just wanted to make sure Ospreay was listening, because these past few weeks, it seemed like Ospreay had a hard time hearing him.
Despite Ospreay’s best efforts, fate has put them on a collision course in the opening round of the Owen Hart Cup. The fans like the sound of that! Joe say she is here for one reason and one reason alone. He wants to speak about choices and consequences. Ospreay could’ve made the right choice and get a bye in this tournament, because that is what Joe would do for one of his friends. But Ospreay chose poorly. He could’ve been with the team that would do nothing but support and enhance Ospreay, but he decided to be a lapdog for Moxley and the Death Riders. The fans boo, Ospreay says he’s not a Death Rider.
Joe says Ospreay has made his choice, and come Double or Nothing, Joe makes Ospreay suffer the consequences. But Joe leaves Ospreay in peace tonight, for he has his date with destiny. But unfortunately, Joe’s friends, Katsuyori Shibata & Anthony Bowens, still feel slighted, and he doesn’t put leashes on his friends. Shibata & Bowens storm down the ramp, Ospreay ready to fight them both if he has to. But then The Death Riders appear! Ospreay may not have officially joined the club, but the Death Riders aren’t going to let their investment go to waste! The Opps say they’re #NeverLacking, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now!
Shibata & Bowens back down while Moxley, Marina, Claudio, Yuta, Garcia & Pac all step up to support Ospreay. Joe says, “Soon. Soon.” The fans cheer the Death Riders, or at least Moxley, but Bowens promises Joe is gonna kill you, Ospreay! The dream match for Double or Nothing is on, but will the training with The Death Riders make Ospreay the new King of Harts?
BREAKING NEWS for next week!
If you liked last week’s THREE HOUR block of AEW, then you’ll love this next one! Portland, Maine, the last Wednesday before Double or Nothing, Dynamite & Collision are combining forces again! Three hours all on TBS and HBO Max, make sure your DVR is set accordingly!
Backstage interview with Don Callis & Konosuke Takeshita.
Renee is now with The Invisible Hand & The Alpha, saying tonight is a huge opportunity in the main event, Konosuke facing Darby Allin for THE AEW World Championship. Konosuke could be heading into Double or Nothing as a- Callis stops Renee there to say Konosuke will be heading into Double or Nothing as a DOUBLE champion! But then MJF steps in, apologizes for the interruption but says Renee’s doing a great job. The Scumbag tells Konosuke that while it’s been a minute since the two of them have talked, three years actually, back when MJF beat him… MJF has seen Konosuke develop into truly one of the best wrestlers in the world!
MJF believes that tonight, Konosuke beats Darby for the title, goes to DON to beat Okada, and MJF can’t think of a better match than Konosuke VS MJF Part 2 for the world title. How’s that sound? MJF offers a handshake, Konosuke shakes his hand, but in Japanese, Konosuke tells MJF that he’ll beat the crap out of him. Thankfully, MJF doesn’t know Japanese. Callis says that was a nice pep talk MJF just gave, and MJF says yes, he knows. That kid needs to win, okay? MJF can’t let Darby turn him into some disgusting, bald freak! No offense, Callis looks great. But look, there is only one foolproof way to know MJF won’t be put in that situation.
So if things get hairy… MJF hands over the Dynamite Diamond Ring! Callis smiles, and say she understands what to do with it. But then in steps Andrade. El Idolo takes off his hat to shake out his amazing head of hair, and smiles at MJF. MJF frowns and leaves. Callis says here’s the deal: Takeshita will bring the world title home to the Don Callis Family tonight! Andrade asks, “How you know?” Callis says aye dios mio, he seriously doesn’t know where Andrade learned English. Andrade says one way or another, the next time, that will be HIS title. Callis says yes, he knows, it’s all good. Callis is a man of many talents, but will his family be dripping with gold thanks to a diamond ring?
AEW now announces the Women’s Owen Hart Memorial Tournament brackets!
Double or Nothing will see Willow Nightingale, the reigning Queen of Harts, take on Alex Windsor, while we will see Persephone VS Hazuki, Skye Blue vs Sareee, and Mina Shirakawa VS Athena! Champions from around the world are gathering for this tournament, but who will be headed to Forbidden Door, and then All In: London?
Backstage interview with The Conglomeration.
Renee Paquette is now with Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, Roderick Strong, and Willow Nightingale. Renee commends Cassidy on his part in the 10 Man Tag victory. But it seems that there is even more business to attend to. Cassidy says yes, the team has a shot at THE AEW World Tag Team Championships. It doesn’t matter who it is, they’re getting their shot, but the thing is… They still haven’t decided on which two will be. Kyle says Cassidy & Roddy should go for the gold, but Roddy shouts, “KYYYLE~! Thank you.” Kyle says of course. But that’s cuz he’s got gold to chase for himself!
The same man that put Kyle on the shelf for months is the man that Kyle submitted twice, and will submit again. Jon Moxley, Continental Champion, when are we doing this? Willow says speaking of gold, she is still the TBS Champion. But she is also in the Owen Hart Cup. She won this tournament before, she’ll do it all over again, so that she can have all the gold for herself at All In: London. She knows she can, and she will! Then Conglomeration has it all in order? Cassidy says hold on, there’s something missing. They should do a Word of the Day. Why haven’t they done one in so long? Roddy shouts for “MAAARK~!” And yes, Mark Briscoe returns!
The Sussex County Chicken is all fired up, and he says the Word of the day is reunification! For Mark Briscoe is back with his boys and his girls, The Conglomeration! But he’ll put this plain and simple: Tommaso Ciampa! Next Wednesday, Briscoe’s after your ass, son! You hear him? But before that, Saturday Night Collision is in HIS hometown, Salisbury, Maryland! That’s just 4.4 miles from where Briscoe originated on this earth! They’re gonna conglomerate and it’s gonna be a a hell of a time! Are you ready!? Willow and Kyle are fired up, Briscoe goes wild, and the team heads out. Cassidy admits, that was a lot of yelling.
But while The Conglomeration is ready to go Double or Nothing, will they soon have even more gold in the collection? Or are these high and lofty a little too much even for them?
Six Woman Tag: Hikaru Shida & The Brawling Birds VS The Triangle of Madness!
With the news of both the AEW Women’s World Championship Fatal 4 Way for Double or Nothing, and the Owen Hart Cup brackets, this trios match is about much more than just settling scores! Will the Shining Samurai be just as sharp as Jamie Hayter going into that title match? Or will Thekla, Skye Blue & Julia Hart continue to bring them down by any means necessary?
The trios sort out and Jamie steps up against Thekla as both a rematch from their 1v1 title match, and a preview of what’s to come in the next. They circle, but then Skye CLOBBERS Jamie! Julia steps in, but so do Shida and Windsor! The Triangle throws hands on Shida & The Birds, then triple whip. But all three reverse, a BOOT for Thekla, a DDT for Skye, and a BACKBREAKER for Julia! The fans cheer as The Triangle bails out! Shida goes out to keep after Skye while Windsor goes after Julia. Jamie gets Thekla back in the ring while Shida and Windsor have the Sisters of Sin in the corners of the barriers. The fans cheer as they all rain down fists!
Windsor, Jamie & Shida all go to nine, then wind up for TEN! The fans cheer again while Thekla sputters. Jamie snap suplexes, but Skye ROCKS Shida! Skye frowns but she stomps Jamie down. Skye tags Julia while Dynamite returns to single picture.
Skye whips Jamie into Julia’s grasp, and Skye BLASTS Shida & Windsor while Julia tags Thekla. Julia has Jamie in the TARANTULA, and Skye sends Windsor in for Thekla’s HANGING HEADSCISSORS! Skye runs up to DOUBLE SHOTGUN The Birds! The fans are torn but Thekla says that’s how the Triangle does it, baby! Thekla then aims to MISSILE- NO, Jamie gest under! Thekla lands out, but Jamie BOOTS her down! Jamie looks at Shida, Shida is hesitant, but Shida tags in! The fans cheer as Shida sends Theknla to the corner, then JUMP KNEES! Shida keeps moving, she BLASTS Skye! Julia ROCKS Shida back!
Julia storms in but Shida kicks her and whips her into Thekla! Shida KNEES them both in the corner! The fans cheer as The Babe, the Fighting Gravure Idol & La Mera Mera save the day. But will Jamie make sure Thekla and Shida pay for this at Double or Nothing?
AEW World Championship: Darby Allin VS Konosuke Takeshita!
They say “card subject to change,” and that is true even for the best in the world. Kazuchika Okada’s real family takes priority, but his Don Callis Family brother was more than happy to step up for this opportunity. Will The Alpha already have two belts by the time he and The Rainmaker battle over the International Championship? Or will Darby truly be relentless in his pursuit of being the best fighting champion in AEW history?
The introductions are made, THE belt is raised, and we see who goes to Double or Nothing on top!
Callis joins commentary to say that while Darby’s been breaking his own body, Konosuke has perfected “rejuvenation training,” aka relaxing on a beach and sipping sake! The bell rings, and Darby SHOTGUNS Konosuke out! Then Darby DIVES, but Konosuke catches him! Konosuke POSTS Darby, then THROWS him into railing! Konosuke THROWS Darby into the ring, the fans fire up for both guys, and Konosuke hurries to BOOT Darby off the apron! Darby falls in front of commentary but Konosuke gets him right back in the ring. Cover, ONE!! The fans rally as Darby shows his grit, but Konosuke snarls.
Konosuke drags Darby up, Darby fires forearms, but the ALPHA ELBOW knocks Darby down! The fans fire up while Konosuke looms over Darby. Konosuke stands Darby up, and THROWS him into a corner! Darby bounces off the buckles and is bleeding from the mouth already! Konosuke stands Darby up, hoists him up top, then he climbs up after him. But Darby BITES Konosuke, CLUBS him down, and leaps for a CROSSBODY, but he bounces off Konosuke! The fans fire up again as Konosuke whips Darby for a BACKDROP! Darby got serious hangtime there, and he flounders out of the ring. Darby coughs and sputters but the fans rally up.
Konosuke goes out after Darby but Darby SMACKS him! Konosuke KNEES low, KNEES him again and again and again! Konosuke KNEES Darby against the barriers, then refreshes the count. Konosuke whips Darby hard into railing! Darby sputters as he leans against the railing, but Konosuke positions the steel steps. Konosuke then fetches Darby, lines up a shot, but Darby fights the suplex! Darby CLAWS Konosuke’s back, then fires a shot. Konosuke DECKS Darby in return! Darby slumps against the steps, Konosuke runs up, but Darby dodges! Konosuke’s knees hit the steps and he tumbles over! Darby then runs up the steps to SHOTGUN Konosuke down!
The fans fire up while both men are down on the floor! Konosuke checks his knee before he crawls around, and Darby gets in the ring so he can build speed! Darby DIVES! Direct hit on Konosuke but Darby’s the one who hits the desk! The fans fire up while both men are down again, but Darby rises up to get Konosuke on the apron! Darby fires forearms, then goes up a corner! COFFIN- NO, Konosuke catches him for a SUPER BLUE THUNDER BOMB to the floor!! The fans go nuts again and Callis says that’s the end of Darby Allin, but Dynamite goes picture in picture.
The ref hurries to check Darby but Callis tells Doc Sampson to call it. Darby is somehow still in this, so Konosuke storms his way over. Konosuke drags Darby up, puts him in the ring, then paces around him. Konosuke runs the ropes to LARIAT! Darby flips inside-out, Konosuke covers him, TWO!! Darby still has fight inside but he’s also dazed. Konosuke clamps onto Darby with a chinlock and squeezes tight. Darby endures, even as Konosuke leans on him with his much-taller frame. Bridging cover, TWO!!! Callis is freaking out as much as the fans, and he protests the count! Konosuke is furious, but he aims for the WAGAMAMA KNEE!!! Cover, TWO?!?! Darby survives by nanoseconds, and Konosuke is beside himself! “This is Awesome!” but now CLØN rushes out here! He distracts the ref, and Callis hurries to take the Dynamite Diamond Ring off his finger to put it in Konosuke’s hands! Konosuke thinks about it, but The Alpha has honor!
The fans cheer as Konosuke wants to do this his way! But then Darby runs up, cradles, TWO!! Konosuke escapes, ALPHA ELBOW!! Darby is down, dazed, but still moving! Konosuke drags Darby up again, goes back to the corner and back to the top rope. The fans hope these two “FIGHT FOREVER!” but it has to end somehow! Darby fights against the lift with headlock punches! Then he hops on, SUPER CODE RED!! Konosuke staggers up, Darby leg scissors, steps through, LAST SUPPER!! TWO?!?! Konosuke escapes again, then bails out! So Darby just goes up top! SUPER COFFIN DROP!! Direct hit and both men are down again!
The fans are thunderous as Konosuke and Darby stir. A ring count climbs, Callis complains that some people just gotta follow directions and run the play! Coach Callis pulled Konosuke outta obscurity, Konosuke would do anything! Now he’s got some gold, some fame, and gets a mind of his own! Callis complaining aside, the ring count is climbing! Darby drags himself in at 9, but Konosuke YANKS him back out! That refreshes the count, and Konosuke vows to end this for real now. Konosuke points to the steel steps, and he drags Darby up onto them with a deadlift RAGING- NO, Darby knees Konosuke, turns things around, and FULL METAL SCORPION DEATH DROP!!!
The fans go nuts again while Konosuke writhes! Konosuke flops off the steps, Darby crawls into the ring, and Darby just climbs the corner again! SUPER DUPER COFFIN DROP!!! But Darby is right up top! COFFION DROP on the back!! Then Darby goes right back up, COFFIN DROP again!!! Cover, DARBY WINS!!
Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)
Callis is steaming, but Darby overcomes Konosuke to avenge that loss in the Continental Classic! But it also took so much out of him just to do it! Darby still asks for a mic and one is brought to him. Darby sits up against the ropes, has them cut his music, and he tells MJF to get his ass out here! There’s a contract MJF needs to sign! The ring crew hurries to bring in a table and some chairs for that very contract signing, and MJF makes his entrance. MJF reluctantly makes his way down the ramp, and both men meet at the table. Darby grins with blood still in hiss teeth, and he signs his part of the contract without hesitation, unlike MJF.
The fans already chant “BALD! BALD! BALD!” at MJF, and Darby pushes the contract to his side of the table. MJF grabs the pen, reaches out, but then steps away. MJF scratches his chin as he thinks on this, and the fans just chant, “BALD! BALD! BALD!” again. MJF takes a mic to say he’ll explain something to Darby, looking like he has rabies. But see, MJF is happy for Darby, he hopes Darby’s had fun holding MJF’s AEW World Championship. The fans boo that, but MJF says deep down, there is a small part of him, like the size of a North Carolinian p*nis small. That small part of MJF feels bad for Darby, because he’ll never hold this again!
Darby’s got about a good a chance of holding this title as Hangman Adam Page does again. MJF says guys like Darby are a dime a dozen, here today and gone tomorrow, stuntmen who burn the candle at both ends. In this life, people like all these fans here like to pretend that life is about making friends and family and children. The only thing that matters in life is your legacy. And Darby’s legacy will be that of the kid who had his 15 minutes of fame. They’ll pretend like Darby made a lasting impact, but the fact of the matter is, he hasn’t. He hasn’t! They’ll know deep down that Darby Allin was just a little pr*ck who got lucky.
They’ll know that Darby was too reckless and stupid to stay on top. And after May 24th, Double or Nothing, in that sh*thole of Queens, New York, y’know what MJF’s legacy will be? He’ll go down as the guy who became a THREE-TIME World Champion at just 30 years of age, unprecedented in this sport. And MJF will go down, when it’s all said and done, as the Greatest of All Time! THAT is the difference between them! Darby Allin brags about climbing a mountaintop. But when it comes to professional wrestling, Maxwell Jacob Friedman IS the mountaintop! The fans boo but MJF soaks it up. Darby tells MJF to SHUT UP!
Only someone like MJF who is so vain would think that the number one most important thing in this world is his legacy. Darby doesn’t care about legacy, he cares about living in the moment! And in this moment, Darby just wants MJF to sign the contract. Then at Double or Nothing, Darby makes Maxwell Jacob Friedman a BALLD HEADED B*TCH!! MJF frowns but the fans cheer that! MJF grabs the pen again, and with no choice, he signs on the dotted line! Then he TACKLES Darby! The fans boo as MJF beats up Darby after the war he went through with Konosuke! MJF CHUCKS an armchair outta the ring, FLIPS the table, then picks up his Dynamite Diamond Ring.
MJF puts the ring on his finger like always, then winds up to DECK Darby!! The fans boo but MJF just soaks it all up. MJF throws off his jacket, picks up the belt, and he stands over Darby with it. But then MJF isn’t done with Darby, he puts Darby on the top rope! MJF climbs up to join him, and drags Darby into position! But wait! Kevin Knight runs out here to chase MJF off! The Jet still owes The Scumbag a receipt, but it seems we’ll all have to wait on that. Will MJF still take back the title at Double or Nothing? Or will Darby keep the belt and take MJF’s dignity?
My Thoughts:
An awesome episode for Dynamite as things heat up towards Double or Nothing. Awesome 10 Man Tag to open, great win for the Faces, not that it added much to FTR VS C&C. Good promo from Jericho to look back on Stadium Stampede and hype up this year’s match. Good promo from The Demand with Davis and The Dogs, and I suppose this maximizes the feuds as well as the alliances throughout the locker room. Who knows who wins but the match will still be awesome, just as the original was. Good promo from Conglomeration, too, Cassidy & Roddy going after FTR while Kyle VS Moxley happens on the side, that’s great stuff.
Speaking of Moxley, great promo from him and Ospreay. Moxley’s semi-turn has really brought out his sage philosophical side. Great match from Ospreay VS Ace, and while Ospreay could always bring out his aggression, seeing him use more technical wrestling and even winning with a submission is good stuff. Good promo from Joe, and I liked Death Riders backing Ospreay up. Very good Owen Hart Cup brackets this year, Joe VS Ospreay is a great choice given this story, but I would think Ospreay wins that one. Good promo from Jack Perry to call out Davis, and I suppose Jack can win in the Owen Cup to then move on from the National title.
Great seeing Brian Cage back, he gave Knight an awesome match, but with JetSpeed wanting to go on a Two Man Power Trip, it makes sense Kevin won out. Same for Bailey beating Westbrook, even though Westbrook maybe went too hard on his own acrobatic escape. Great stuff in the Six Woman Tag, and I appreciate Shida didn’t ditch until after the match. Willow, Mina & Rosa might get their own Six Woman Tag with Triangle of Madness after that interaction, but also can’t wait to see if Willow can go back-to-back as Queen of Harts. For that matter, I personally would love to see Athena use the Owen Cup to move on from being ROH Women’s World Champion, but that depends on how Supercard of Honor goes this Friday.
And of course, another wild instant classic from Darby as he overcomes Takeshita. I knew the diamond ring would come into play with that reverse effect, good way of protecting Takeshita in the loss. Good stuff with MJF tonight, too, such as the opening segment’s parade of bald men to send the message to MJF. That was also a unique contract signing segment in that it came together so quickly after the main event match. Good stuff from MJF as always, and of course he attacks Darby. I feel like either Knight should not have made the save, or both parts of JetSpeed should’ve made the save. It just seems odd that only Knight cared about saving Darby. The closing moment was much better when it was MJF standing over Darby with the belt.
My Score: 9/10

Talk about a handicap! Callis AND Ricochet gave Davis quite a considerable one, and now Davis has his first singles title in AEW! The Jurassic Express National Tour has just been run off the road, but will Jack be able to get his revenge?
Collision returns, and Jack Perry is on the phone.
He tells someone, “Let’s do it. Thank you, guys.” Jack ends his call, then shows his frustration. Winning the National Championship in his hometown, in front of his friends and family, was one of the proudest moments of his entire life. And yet Ricochet and Callis had to end that for him. But he happens to know that Chris Jericho & The Hurt Syndicate are looking for two more partners for Stadium Stampede. And Jack go to thinking, the show is called Double or Nothing. Callis says yes, let’s go have a drink at the 19th Hole and talk about which of the many members of the Don Callis Family are going to join Ricochet in the slaughterhouse! Ricochet says oh yes, so many great choices to choose from! Callis & Ricochet head out, just how massive will this Stadium Stampede match get?

BREAKING NEWS for Double or Nothing!
The Triangle of Madness may have misted Persephone and injured Alex Windsor, but that only heaps on more trouble for the champion! Thekla must now defend her AEW Women’s World Championship in a FATAL 4 WAY! Thekla VS Jamie Hayter VS Kris Statlander VS Hikaru Shida, is The Toxic Spider about to get squashed? Or will she need her Sisters of Sin now more than ever?
BREAKING NEWS for Dynamite!
The annual tradition is back! The 2026 Owen Hart Memorial Tournament begins, with the brackets for both men’s and women’s divisions to be announced on Wednesday! Who makes the cut? And who will become the King & Queen of Harts?
Don Callis speaks, again.
“Just moments away from the AEW World title match between Darby Allin and Pac, and gentlemen, just wanted to let you know that the Don Callis Family, no matter who wins tonight, the Don Callis Family will be waiting for the winner. This Wednesday on Dynamite, the Don Callis Family will take the AEW World title from one of you. And y’know, it’s already been a great night, a big night, for the Don Callis Family! We won gold, but can’t wait to get some more. And on the subject of that, Okada has had to go to Japan to take care of some very important family business. But don’t worry, lads, because I have someone in mind to take his spot this Wednesday in the world title match.
“And it is none other than the firstborn of the Don Callis Family, Konosuke Takeshita, The Alpha!” Takeshita steps in, and Callis tells him, “You’re gonna be the world champion! If you listen to me like you always have, you will be successful, and you will finally fulfill the destiny that I had for you when I plucked you out of obscurity and made you the replacement for Kenny Omega. You’re the best wrestler in the world when you’ve got my game plan in your head. Go win the title.” Konosuke tells Don that he was going to take the International Championship, but now he is the person who will bring the world title back to the Don Callis Family! Unlike Okada.

Winner: Darby Allin, by pinfall (still AEW World Champion)
Pac said it himself, Darby is the indestructible boy! But can Darby keep this up? Or will The Alpha come through on his promise and bring this title back to the Don Callis Family this Wednesday?
My Thoughts:
A great hour of AEW here as this special edition of Collision, though “Fairway to Hell” is such a random thing to begin with. They must’ve made a business deal with SoFi and TGL, which to me might be more AEW helping TGL get noticed on a national scale. And changing the status quo with the National Championship was quite the surprise, but that’s still great for Davis. Ricochet being the reason why, and then that compelling The Elite jumping into Stadium Stampede is a bit convoluted. I get they’re using continuity of how Kenny hates Callis and vice-versa, but it undercuts what I was hoping for in Hurt Syndicate getting to introduce new members. But hey, 7v7 is pretty wild, too.
I appreciate Divine Dominion adding something to their squash matches with that five minute goal. Slay & Ley already set a good time with over two minutes, and I’m sure two minutes will be the average as they just dominate all summer. And it seems Alex Windsor is gonna be out a little longer than expected, given that adjustment for Double or Nothing. A Fatal 4 Way is still good for how Thekla can use her challengers against each other, or be protected in a loss if they choose. It also helps bring in the Shidalander story, but it also feels like we’re skipping chapters. That Fatal 4 Way can probably get us to the team breaking up and Shida turning on Statlander for their own feud.
Bailey VS Grey probably was a legit standby match, that went quick. And Knight had a decent promo saying he and Bailey are still gonna be JetSpeed going for all the gold. Not sure if that comes true or just sets things up for the team to fall apart. And then a really wild main event with the “No Count Out” match. They probably could’ve just called that No Holds Barred but they wanted to add heat on how The Death Riders were cheating the second half of that match. Both table spots were risky, but obviously Darby did the crazier one. AEW really needs to be careful not to push it much further than that, though.
Then the news of Okada being out for Dynamite, hopefully it’s nothing too tragic with his family. But Takeshita as the substitute is a good choice, this helps build the Okada VS Takeshita match at the same time as building Darby up. Pretty sure MJF accepts the terms of Title VS Hair, and it’d be very MJF if he were to announce that while attacking Darby to close the show on Wednesday.
My Score: 8.8/10
