NJPW News: Chris Jericho Returns At Wrestling Dontaku

As we made note of yesterday, PWInsider reported that multiple time WWE Champion Chris Jericho was set to make his return to New Japan Pro Wrestling at Wrestling Dontaku, despite saying previously that he was “finished” with the company (which you can read here).

Last night at the second and final evening of Wrestling Dontaku, ‘Y2J’ did in-fact make his return by attacking Tetsuya Naito following a match. Naito led Los Ingobernables de Japon to victory in a 10-man tag match and was left in the ring alone to celebrate the win. A fan wearing a lucha libre mask hopped the guardrail and went on the attack, revealing himself to be Jericho and blasting Naito with the ring bell. He would leave Tetsuya bloody before fending off a number referees and NJPW’s Young Lions, then fled:

As stated yesterday, the belief is that Jericho vs. Naito will be taking place at Dominion in June. Naito is the current IWGP Intercontinental Champion, while ‘Y2J’ holds the record for most WWE Intercontinental Title reigns with nine.
