It’s been no secret for some time now that rumors of Hulk Hogan and the possibility of his return to the WWE have been the topic of discussion for fans, the conversation seemingly being that the Hall Of Famers return to the company is an inevitability.
Today, TMZ Sports is reporting that plans for the Hulkster to come back are currently underway. It’s being said that talks between the two sides began recently as Hogan was reached out to for the Greatest Royal Rumble. Reportedly, one of the royal family in Saudi Arabia had requested Hulk be there, but of course that did not happen. It should be noted that the conversations between Hogan and WWE are said to be all positive.
The WWE Hall Of Famer recently was inducted into another Hall Of Fame for the Boys & Girls Club of America, TMZ Sports adding that WWE was watching his acceptance speech to see how he would be received, which turned out to be very well.
As we all know, Hogan was fired from WWE and had his image scrubbed from all company materials after he made racially charged comments on a tape that went public.
EA’s Take: I’ve heard that “Hulk’s close to coming back” so many times now, I have to take the “I’ll believe it when I see it approach”. I certainly don’t condone what Hogan said to get himself fired on those tapes, but at the same time, he’s Hulk Hogan. He didn’t rape someone, he didn’t kill someone and while what he said was wrong, I think as a country we like to build people up and tear them down, only to watch them come back and re-embrace them. Even if this report is untrue, I do believe it’s just a matter of time before he’s back with WWE in some capacity. Do I see it being in a regular TV role? Not to start, no. It will be baby steps as the company will be cautious with him (and rightfully so).
