NJPW News: Participants Announced For World Tag League

Published

on

Now that the Road To Power Struggle, Power Struggle and 2018 Super Junior Tag League have all concluded, next up for New Japan Pro Wrestling after this week’s Global Wars with Ring Of Honor is the World Tag League tour beginning on November 17th in Kanagawa and ending December 9th in Iwate.

This year’s tour will feature seventeen events, while there are some changes to this year’s format. Unlike other years, there is only one pool of fourteen teams instead of the usual two blocks with the Finals taking place on December 9th. Also, in year’s past the winner would receive an IWGP Tag Team Championship opportunity at Wrestle Kingdom, but with the champions part of the field, it’s not known if this is still the case.

Here’s a look at this year’s World Tag League participants:

  • Togi Makabe & Toa Henare
  • Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima
  • EVIL & SANADA
  • Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr.
  • Manabu Nakanishi & Yuji Nagata
  • Killer Elite Squad (Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Lance Archer)
  • Ayato Yoshida & Shota Umino
  • Minoru Suzuki & Takashi Iizuka
  • David Finlay & Juice Robinson
  • IWGP Tag Team Champions The Guerrillas Of Destiny (Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa)
  • Michael Elgin & Jeff Cobb
  • Hangman Page & Yujiro Takahashi
  • Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano
  • Best Friends (Beretta & Chuckie T)

WWE Rumors: Shane McMahon Being Replaced At Survivor Series?

Published

Shane McMahon
Could Shane McMahon be removed from Survivor Series in favor of another Superstar?

WWE’s annual November tradition, Survivor Series, is coming up this Sunday from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will pit RAW versus SmackDown Live in champion against champion and brand against brand battles.

Along with each brand’s women and tag teams, there will be a Men’s Elimination Match that is currently scheduled to see Baron Corbin’s RAW team of Drew McIntyre, Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, Finn Balor and Bobby Lashley take on SmackDown Live’s Daniel Bryan, The Miz, Shane McMahon, Rey Mysterio and Samoa Joe. If you remember, last Monday before any team members were announced it was reported that the blue brand’s squad would be the same Superstars mentioned before with one exception, Randy Orton instead of Shane McMahon (check out the report here).

It appears as if there’s still a good chance that Orton could be put in place of McMahon this Sunday, maybe even tonight on SmackDown Live, as Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that as of the past 48 hours, it’s still being said that ‘The Viper’ will be swapped in place of ‘Shane-O-Mac’, but it’s possible a last-minute change could be made.

EA’s Take: It only makes sense for Orton to be taking Shane’s place, just remember back to how last week’s SmackDown Live ended with Randy popping up for some RKOs. He’s got a history of being victorious in Survivor Series Elimination Matches going all the way back to 2003 and most recently helping the blue brand get a win in 2016. I’m sure it will play into this very slow heel turn for Shane in some fashion as well.

WWE News: Zelina Vega Back To Regular Schedule Tonight

Published

Andrade Cien Almas Zelina Vega WWE Repetition
Zelina Vega is back to her normal schedule starting tonight!

It has been a couple of weeks now since we last saw Zelina Vega on WWE programming, making her last appearance in the Battle Royal at Evolution on October 28th.

It was there that she may have suffered a concussion while being tossed over the top rope and eliminated from the match (read about that here), thus leading to WWE taking her off of the road to rest up. Now that the rosters are back from their long, overseas tour that began at Crown Jewel on November 2nd, we could be seeing her back this evening.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Zelina has been cleared by WWE and is backstage for SmackDown Live at the Sprint Center in St. Louis, Missouri. While it wasn’t indicated if they are scheduled for the show, she is back on the road with her normal schedule as of today.

How do you think Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas looked without Zelina Vega? Let us know on social media @theCHAIRSHOTcom and always remember to use the hashtag #UseYourHead!
