Women’s Division

Well, color me impressed and wrong! I said last week that it looked like Rhea Ripley was going to be losing her match against Piper Niven and leaving NXT UK for good, based on what happened on NXT US last Wednesday and I was wrong about the first part! Ripley BEAT Niven in an AMAZING match, evening up their feud to 1-1. I’m hopeful that this win means that Ripley will be dividing her time between NXT UK and NXT US because there’s more stories for her to tell in the Women’s Division and given how deep the NXT US women’s division, it would be too easy for her to get lost in the shuffle after her feud with Shayna Baszler.

Tegan Nox is back! One year after a devastating knee injury ended her dreams of winning the Mae Young Classic, the Girl With the Shiniest Wizard is making her comeback and I’m so happy for her. Next week will be very exciting for the NXT UK Women’s Division.

Post TakeOver Comments

I’m iffy on Grizzled Young Veterans as a team, even though I think they’re super talented, but they always make me laugh in their promos, especially when they lose. The post-TakeOver meltdown was especially hilarious. I think they’ll regain the titles in their rematch next week and the win for the Welsh Airmen was more to give them a big moment in Wales, but I don’t see anyone else getting a big run with the titles other than Gallus or British Strong Style.

I like that Gallus were much more stoic about losing than GYV were. Even though I’m disappointed Mastiff didn’t win on Saturday, I’m hopeful that Joe Coffey winning is a sign that he and Gallus are getting another push.

Kassius Ohno vs Sid Scala

What the fuck was this about? I’ve been loving Sid Scala as an authority figure and I love someone standing up to a bully, but this was just weird. I would’ve liked for this to have had more consistent build like Drake Maverick vs Mike Kanellis. Scala just deciding to take on Ohno felt weird, though he did show a lot of spunk. Hopefully, this will get some more structure next week.

That’s it for Tiffany’s NXT UK Takes! Stay tuned for NXT coverage!
