Chris King highlights how The Viking Raiders are one step closer to becoming the Raw Tag Team Champions.
Back on April 15th episode of Raw, Erik and Ivar made their main roster debut under an awful moniker “The Viking Experience” which is now the name of their finisher.
Thank God someone had the brains to change their name to The Viking Raiders. For the next several months Erik and Ivar would obliterate jobbers and enhancement talent in a matter of minutes.
On the August 29th episode of Raw, The Viking Raiders competed in the Eight Tag Team Turmoil Match where they went toe-to-toe with The O.C. and the two tandems engaged in a brawl that led to a double disqualification. A few weeks later, Erik and Ivar reemerged coming to the aid of Cedric Alexander who was getting attacked from all three members of The O.C.
Over the next month, both The Viking Raiders and Gallows and Anderson traded victories leading up to their first match on a pay-per-view. This past Sunday at Hell In A Cell, The Viking Raiders teamed up with Braun Strowman to compete in a massive six-man tag team match against The O.C. While their match ended in a disqualification, Erik and Ivar finally got a chance to showcase their incredible skills and high-octane offense on a bigger stage.
On this week’s episode of Raw, The Viking Raiders faced the Raw Tag Team Champions Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler in a non-title match. The recently paired up champions dug down deep to put away the monstrous duo even to the point of delivering a Spinebuster and Zig-Zag combo but it wasn’t enough to defeat Erik and Ivar. When it was all said and done, Roode and Ziggler suffered their first loss as a team.
The Viking Raiders are in a fantastic place right now after defeating the Raw Tag Team Champions, and WWE just announced that they will be challenging for the Raw Tag Team Championships on next week’s episode of Raw. Which just so happens to be night two of the 2019 Draft.
