Mitchell’s WWE SmackDown Results & Report! (5/20/22)

WWE Tag Title Unification!

SmackDown 2022

Tonight, there can only be ONE!

Raw Tag Team Championships + SmackDown Tag Team Championships = THE UNDISPUTED WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS… But who are the ones?

  • Sami Zayn VS Shinsuke Nakamura; Nakamura wins.
  • GUNTHER w/ Ludwig Kaiser VS Drew Gulak; Gunther wins.
  • Raquel Rodriguez VS Shotzi Blackheart; Raquel wins.
  • Xavier Woods VS “Butch” Pete Dunne; Woods wins.
  • Raw & SmackDown Tag Team Championships, Winners Take All Title Unification: RKBRO VS The Usos; The Usos win and are the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

The Bloodline heads to the ring!

The Tribal Chief leads the way as he, Paul Heyman and The Usos walk out on stage. They raise the belts and the pyro goes off. They then continue down the ramp, Heyman holding up the Universal Championship as a banner. They step through the ropes and raise the belts again for more pyro. Heyman then holds the belts for Roman Reigns before handing over the mic. “Grand Rapids! ACKNOWLEDGE ME!” Fans seem pretty torn, but Roman says tonight is special. Tonight, they’re not acknowledging the Tribal Chief, but they’re acknowledging his cousins, the Usos. That means tonight, they acknowledge the Bloodline!

“Wise Man.” “Yes, My Tribal Chief.” “Tell them why.” “Yes, sir. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the single biggest night in the history of tag team wrestling. You see, what we have on the Island of Relevancy is the moment of truth. ROman Reign sis the GOAT, the Undisputed Greatest of All Time. You can take your Bruno Sammartinos, you can take your Hulk Hogans, you can take your Stone Cold Steve Austins, you can take your Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnsons, you can take your Brrrock Lesnars, you can take your John Cenas, you can stack them all up and that’s what would happen if they all stepped into the ring at the same time with the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. They would be stacked up, smashed and pinned by the Undisputed GOAT, the Greatest of All Time, Roman… Reigns!

“And while you sit there with your insecure cheers, here’s something you have to acknowledge. Each and every single night of his life, Roman Reigns defends the position of being the Greatest of All Time. Because that’s what it takes to be the Tribal Chief on the Island of Relevancy! So what does it take for the Usos to be the Greatest Tag Team of All Time? And I say that with a lot of nervousness in my voice, because I stand in the ring with the descendants, the direct descendants, of Afa & Sika. So to claim Greatest Tag Team of All Time would be pretty disrespectful if you don’t do something that not even Afa & Sika, the Wild Samoans, every accomplished.

“What is that accomplishments? Unifying the tag team titles! Don’t just be the longest reigning SmackDown Tag Team Champions of all time, be the ONLY tag team ever, EVER, to be SmackDown Tag Team Champions and Raw Tag Team Champions at the very same time. And to do so, the Usos have to defeat Randy Orton & Riddle, RKBRO.” Fans cheer for Orton & Riddle and Heyman will give credit where it is due. They’re the best tag team on Raw, and perhaps the best team in the history of Raw. But the Usos have to earn their spot, have to earn relevancy, and not be last week’s news.

It is not enough to be cousins with the Tribal Chief. “So tonight, ladies and gentlemen, the Usos will come home the Undisputed Tag Team Champions, or they won’t come home to the Island of Relevancy at all. Tonight, the Usos will BEAT RKBRO. Tonight, the Usos will become the Greatest Tag Team of All Time! Tonight, the Usos will be the UNDISPUTED Tag Team Champions of the World! And that’s not just a prediction… That, ladies and gentlemen, is a spoiler.” Roman wants the mic back and Heyman hands the mic over. Roman adds, “USOS! Twins. You know what I want. And I expect you to deliver. The only reason I have these expectations is because I love you.”

The Usos and Roman hug it out, and fans boo. Will Jimmy & Jey do their entire family proud when they take down the Viper & the Stallion and take home both sets of tag titles?

Sami Zayn applauds all this backstage.

The “locker room leader” is still wearing a Bloodline shirt as he looks to do them proud as their proxy. But will he only end up embarrassing himself in tonight’s big rematch?

Sami Zayn VS Shinsuke Nakamura!

The King of Strong Style gives the Bloodline a look as he makes his entrance and they make their exit. Will the King of Strong Style get even with “The Table’s Ass” to then take aim at the Head?

SmackDown returns and Sami makes his entrance. The bell rings, Nakamura and Sami circle and tie up. Sami waistlocks, headlocks, and grinds the hold. Nakamura power sup and out, but Sami runs him over! Cover, ONE, but Sami clamps on a chinlock. Nakamura fights up, Sami shifts to get the arm. Sami wrenches, wristlocks, but Nakamura rolls, kips up and wrenches to cartwheel and WRING Sami out! Fans fire up as Nakamura hammerlocks then headlocks. Sami powers out, Nakamura runs him over now! Fans rally, things speed up, Nakamura fakes Sami out and KICKS him down!

Fans boo but Sami rains down fists on Nakamura! Sami lets off the ground ‘n’ pound and he brings Nakamura up. Sami ROCKS Nakamura with a haymaker, then he whips Nakamura to ropes for a LARIAT! Sami goes up the corner, Nakamura fires off hands! Nakamura climbs up after Sami, fans fire up, but Sami fights back with body shots. Nakamura gives body shots, but Sami CLUBS Nakamura with elbows! Nakamura holds on but Sami scrapes him off the ropes. Sami adjusts, but Nakamura traps him up! Sami lands on his great liberator and falls to the mat! Nakamura aims, runs in, but is sent into the corner! Nakamura elbows Sami away, then hops up the corner.

Sami grabs a leg and TOSSES Nakamura to the floor! Sami grins and fans boo as Nakamura crashes and burns, and SmackDown goes to break.

SmackDown returns and Sami clubs away on Nakamura with crossface forearms and even elbows! Fans rally but Sami wraps on a chinlock. Nakamura endures, Grand Rapids is fired up for Nakamura but Sami throws knees. Sami whips, Nakamura ducks and dodges then DYNAMIC DROPKICKS! Fans fire up while both men are down! Sami and Nakamura slowly rise, Nakamura fires off a strike fest! Knee and AX KICK! Nakamura runs to SHOTGUN! Sami staggers to a corner, Nakamura runs in but he blocks boots. Nakamura puts Sami in ropes, ROUNDHOUSE and SLIDING GERMAN! Fans fire up as Nakamura climbs up!

Sami stands, Nakamura aims, FLYING KNEE! Cover, TWO! Sami survives and Nakamura is shocked! Fans fire up as Nakamura brings Sami up. Sami swings, Nakamura ducks, Sami ducks the roundhouse but not the WHEEL KICK! Sami flounders to a corner and fans fire up again. Nakamura aims from a corner, “YAO~!” But Sami runs out of the ring! Just like last time. Nakamura goes out the side and comes in around the corner, but into a scoop and MICHINOKU DRIVER to the floor! Sami wants to win by count-out again! The count is 5 of 10, then 8! Nakamura springs up at 9 and in at 9.9!! Sami is furious but Nakamura survives!

Fans taunt Sami as “Rusty!” but Sami kicks Nakamura back out. Sami whips but Nakamura reverses and POSTS Sami! Nakamura TOSSES Sami into the timekeeper’s area! A true reversal of last time! Sami flounders, slides in at 9, KINSHASA!! Cover, Nakamura wins!

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura, by pinfall

Nakamura avenges his loss to the “elder statesman” of SmackDown! Will Sami be hoping the Bloodline wasn’t aware of this? Will Nakamura be headed for gold in the near future?

Happy Corbin heads to the ring.

And though he’s hosting another episode of Happy Talk, it’s hard to say he looks all that happy. Could it have something to do with how he tried to cripple Mad Cap Moss? We’ll see how Corbin’s feeling, after the break.

SmackDown returns and Corbin has the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy! Corbin somberly welcomes us to Happy Talk. And though he says this every week, this is the happiest he’s ever been. No one understands how good it feels to be Corbin. He’s tall, handsome, waring a 12 THOUSAND dollar hat, and a 70 THOUSAND dollar watch. But best of all, Corbin rid the WWE of that “mouth breathing moron,” Mad Cap Moss. And he got himself a souvenir, that will look great in his trophy case, alongside the one Corbin already has. Corbin has us watch a recap video showing his brutal attack on Moss, with chair, and the chair vice using the trophy to smash it.

Back to present, Corbin says he got fined a hell of a lot of money for that. Well, a lot of money to most people. But you can’t put a price on art, and that was a masterpiece. And just like every amazing piece of art, you appreciate it more the second time around. Corbin has us watch the video again, specifically when the trophy hits chair vice and Moss writhes in agony. Corbin says the fans should all learn from that. They should appreciate all the things they have, and should show total respect to their bosses. “You should never try to improve your station in life. Mad Cap Moss had it good. He was my protégé, he flew on private jets, he ate Wagyu beef, and I paid for it all.”

But now, if Moss wants to eat steak, his nurse has to chew it for him first. Moss wanted to get out of Corbin’s shadow, become a big star, and rise to the top of the WWE. He was a big shot, but he didn’t appreciate every great thing Corbin did for him. Moss thought Corbin was the butt of all his jokes! He called Corbin “The Big Bald Wolf!” Fans chant that back at Corbin, but Corbin says, “Who’s laughing now?! Maybe, just maybe, I am the Big Bald Wolf, because I huffed, and I puffed, and I put Mad Cap Moss in am ambulance!” Corbin snarls, still not looking all that happy. Corbin then takes the Andre the Giant Trophy and SMASHES it against the steel steps!!

Fans boo as Corbin smashes the rest of the base and plaque, then brings the Andre the Giant statuette itself into the ring to raise as his trophy. Will Corbin prove he’s not so much happy as he is a psychopath?

Ludwig Kaiser speaks on stage.

Ladies and gentlemen, show your utmost respect and honor to Der Ring General… GUNTHER!! Imperium’s dominant and destructive leader is here, ready to teach a lesson to the Philly Stretcher. Will Gulak need a stretcher after this?

GUNTHER w/ Ludwig Kaiser VS Drew Gulak!

SmackDown returns and Gunther is already brutalizing Gulak with knees! Gunther TOSSES Gulak, puts him in a corner, but GUlak avoids the chop! Gulak CLUBS Gunther, then throws haymakers! GUnther eggs Gulak on, Gulak CHOPS him! Gunther BOOTS Gulak down! Gunther drags Gulak up, wrenches and CHOPS again! Gunther has Gulak’s wrist, drags him up with it, and CHOPS again! Gunther still holds the wrist, drags Gulak up again and CHOPS Gulak down! Ludwig enjoys this like fine wine while Gunther reels Gulak in, for DER GENERAL BOMB! Cover, Gunther wins!

Winner: GUNTHER, by pinfall

But he’s not done! Gunther puts Gulak in a BOSTON CRAB! Ludwig laughs at Gulak’s pain, but here comes RICOCHET! The WWE Intercontinental Champion won’t stand for Gunther bullying Gulak any longer! Gunther und Ludwig leave, having earned the victory. But will the former NXT UK Champion look to take his first piece of gold on SmackDown

Adam Pearce talks with “Max Dupri.”

He’s ready to get to work. Well, okay, then, Mr. Dupri… Dupri lets us know that he is the CEO and owner of the hottest new modeling agency, Maximum Male Models. Tonight, the discovery begins of a new generation of superstars that can headline both Paris fashion week and WrestleMania. Pearce didn’t hear anything about this until now. Really? The person who brought Dupri in assured Dupri that Pearce was excited for this venture. And who said that? Sonya Deville. Well that was when she was still a WWE Official. She just lost her authority a couple weeks ago, so that might make this a bad idea.

Dupri says Pearce is right, this is awkward. But they have a signed contract. Then Pearce will reach out to his people. Who is he again? Max Dupri. Well, nice to meet you Max. NO, no, it’s Max Du-PRI. Uh, okay, sure. Dupri heads out, but will he be turning heads? Or just turning in headshots?

Backstage interview with RKBRO.

Kayla welcomes Orton & Riddle, and asks them their response to the Bloodline’s extreme confidence ahead of tonight’s main event. The Usos are convinced they’re winning, but Riddle says the only thing convincing is that they’re trying to convince themselves that they’ve convinced the WWE Universe that they can beat RKBRO. And to be honest, dude, Riddle’s been beating the Usos one by one week after week, so the Usos can’t beat RKBRO. Y’know why Riddle’s so confident, Kayla? Uh, she has an idea. Because RKBRO 4:20 says we just smoked your asses, bro!

Orton brings up Kayla saying the Usos are extremely confident. Orton disagrees, the Usos are sweating bullets right now. And they were sweating because tonight after all the smoke clears and the dust settles, Roman will look down at the Usos in disappointment and shame while they look up at him without their titles and they’ll tell him just what happened: They got hit with the three most dangerous letters in sports entertainment, R K BRO! The Viper & the Stallion are riding high, but will they reach new levels at the end of tonight?

Shotzi and Aliyah watch the Progressive Match Flo recap backstage.

Raquel Rodriguez stepped up to Ronda Rousey’s SmackDown Women’s Championship Open Challenge and gave the Baddest Woman on the Planet one hell of a fight. Ronda is still champion, but Big Mami Cool won her respect. Shotzi frowns and says, “You know what that was?” Aliyah says yeah, that was her opportunity but Shotzi locked her in the locker room! Oh stop whining! Like you would’ve won. And how would Shotzi win? Lock her in a locker room, too? But then Raquel walks in and Shotzi says Raquel shoved her away and stole her moment. Raquel could never beat Ronda, either, because while she has all the physical tools, she has no idea what to do with them.

Raquel is a weak, soft, goodie goodie. She is six feet of disappointment. Shotzi will make the “absurd amazon” pay in this match! Raquel tells Shotzi “Esta muerta.” Translation: YOU’RE DEAD MEAT. Ricky Desperado heads out, will she get a big rebound win off the wild child?

Raquel Rodriguez VS Shotzi Blackheart!

SmackDown returns and the bell rings. Shotzi talks trash then throws forearms! Raquel picks Shotzi up to RAM her into a corner! And RAMS her shoulder in more and more! The ref counts, Raquel lets off, and then Raquel wrenches to a wristlock. Raquel straight arm levers Shotzi then drops her! Then she reels Shotzi in to run her over! Raquel SLAMS the arm down, then brings Shotzi up. Shotzi fires forearms while Aliyah, Xia Li, Natalya, Shayna Baszler and even Los Lotharios watch backstage. Raquel roars and whips but Shotzi holds ropes to BOOT! Shotzi ENZIGURIS Raquel then runs in at the corner, only for Raquel to pick her up again!

Shotzi sunset flips but Raquel stays up to drag Shotzi up and BUCKLE BOMB her! Shotzi kicks back, and again, going after the leg! Shotzi then grabs Raquel’s hair, reels her in, and has a HANGING HEADSCISSOR! The ref counts, but Raquel drags Shotzi back in with an Electric Chair! But Shotzi slips down to a REAR NAKED CHOKE! Only for Raquel to RAM her into buckles! Shotzi comes back, ROLLING ELBOW and QUESTION MARK KCIK! Then a KNEE! But Raquel just HEADBUTTS back! Shotzi BOOTS from the corner, goes up and leaps, but the rana is blocked! Raquel swings Shotzi back up, pops her around and FALL AWAY SLAMS!

Fans fire up and Raquel storms over to bring Shotzi up. Raquel scoops to FALL AWAY SLAM again! And then the TWISTING VADER! Fans fire up more as Raquel gets Shotzi back up. Deadlift into the CHINGONA BOMB!! Cover, Raquel wins!

Winner: Raquel Rodriguez, by pinfall

This “absurd amazon” just put Shotzi away! Raquel is all smiles, will she be back to the SmackDown Women’s Championship sooner rather than later?

Backstage interview with Xavier Woods.

Kayla says Woods’ opponent, Pete Dunne, won big over Kofi Kingston last week. To be fair, Ridge Holland and Sheamus had parts to play before the Bitter End. Butch then ran off to celebrate for just a moment, proving he does what he wants. Woods says that was the biggest win of Dunne’s SmackDown career. But can he get it done by himself? Or does he need the boys to hold his leash because he’s bush league? Now, Kofi is away on official New Day business, so Woods invites Butch to come down and face him truly 1v1 so we can see what kind of man he really is!

Xavier Woods VS “Butch” Pete Dunne!

King Xavier heads to the ring alone, but how will Dunne respond? We’ll see, after the break.

SmackDown returns and “The Brawling Brutes,” Sheamus and Ridge talk with Dunne. They tell Butch to rattle Woods’ teeth and dance on his head. They fist bump, and instead of a high five, Butch SLAPS Sheamus. That shows them he’s ready! Dunne goes out alone, accepting Woods’ challenge. The bell rings and Dunne rushes in! Woods dodges, ducks, slides, and ROLLING ELBOWS! Dunne flops out of the ring, Woods builds speed, and he WRECKS Dunne with a dropkick! Grand Rapids fires up with Woods and Woods drags Dunne up by an ear! Woods puts Dunne in, slides in, but Dunne STOMPS the hands! Dunne then runs to hit a SLIDING FOREARM!

Dunne gives some ground ‘n’ pound but fans rally with “NEW! DAY ROCKS!” Dunne brings Woods up but Woods rolls Dunne, TWO! Dunne floats around, has the arm and hammerlocks it. Dunne stands on Woods’ head, then grabs the other arm. Woods endures as Dunne digs knuckles and elbows into the ribs! Dunne then STOMPS the ribs! Woods grits his teeth but Dunne wraps on a chinlock! It’s almost a Bully Choke with the angle Dunne puts on it. Fans rally and Woods fights up, then Woods throws body shots. Dunne SLAPS Woods and Woods staggers to a corner. Dunne runs in but into a BOOT!

Woods runs, rolls, and hits the HONOR ROLL! Cover, TWO! Dunne survives but checks his teeth. Woods stalks Dunne, has him at ropes and CHOPS him! Dunne staggers away, but he comes back, into Woods’ forearms! Woods fireman’s carries, but Dunne CLAWS Woods’ face! Dunne fish hooks the mouth, the ref reprimands, but Dunne DECKS Woods, BOOTS him, and Woods flops to the apron. Dunne drags Woods up, drags him over the ropes and gives him Kowata Kicks! Dunne then goes to the corner, hops up, and leaps , but Woods avoids the kick! Woods then GAMANGIRIS Dunne back, steps in, but Dunne DECKS him!

Dunne hammers Woods’ head, the ref counts as Dunne pulls Woods’ hair, but Dunne lets off at 4. Dunne comes back, BACK WOODS!! WOODS WINS!!

Winner: Xavier Woods, by pinfall

Dunne is furious! Woods can’t be stopped when he hits that inside cradle! Dunne storms around ringside while Woods celebrates, and Dunne disappears into the crowd. Just what will happen during this tantrum?

But wait, Sheamus and Ridge walk out on stage behind Woods. Woods is all alone but then Dunne blindsides him! Dunne didn’t go far after all! Ridge drags Dunne away, telling him to leave it at this. Is this far from done between Dunne and the New Day?

Backstage interview with Xavier Woods.

He tells Megan that he is sick and tired of the numbers game garbage. Next week, it ends. Kofi Kingston is back next week, and though Big E is on the mend, the New Day has someone in mind that Sheamus, Ridge & Butch are not going to like. Just who (who who who) is this third man, brother?

The WWE addresses the incident from Monday Night Raw.

Michael Cole says the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Naomi & Sasha Banks, “let us all down” when they walked out on the show before the intended Six Pack Challenge Raw Women’s Championship #1 Contender’s match. Naomi & Sasha took their titles into the office of Talent Relations, left the belts there, and walked out of the arena. These actions disappointed millions of fans, as well as their fellow superstars. Because of what they did, Naomi & Sasha have been suspended indefinitely, and there will be a tournament to crown new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Raw & SmackDown Tag Team Championships, Winners Take All Title Unification: RKBRO VS The Usos!

What was meant for Backlash is happening now on a Friday night! Orton & Riddle are two-time Raw Tag Team Champions but Jimmy & Jey are the longest reigning SmackDown Tag Team Champions ever! Will the Usos continue that historic reign as UNDISPUTED tag team champions? Or will it be RKO 4:20 from Monday to Friday?

The introductions are made, one belt each is raised, and tonight, we see who leaves with them all! History will be made, after the break.

SmackDown returns and we start with Riddle and Jimmy. Grand Rapids is already thunderous as the two tie up. Riddle gets a leg, Jimmy hops but Riddle trips him! Riddle wants the Half Crab but Jimmy scrambles so Riddle drops on him for a sleeper! Jimmy reaches out, ROPEBREAK! Heyman is on commentary as he says he is the Warden of the Uso Penitentiary. Jimmy and Riddle reset, Riddle waistlocks and SLAMS! Then he drags Jimmy up, tags Orton in and they mug Jimmy. Orton CLUBS Jimmy, stomps him around, SLAMS the arm down, and fans rally for “RANDY! RANDY!”

Orton brings Jimmy from ropes, stomps the hand and grinds the fingers! Tag to Riddle, ASSISTED FLOATING BRO! Cover, ONE! Jimmy crawls but Riddle puts him in a corner. Riddle CHOPS, whips corner to corner, but Jimmy reverses. Riddle hits buckles hard, then Jimmy rains down fists! Jimmy clamps onto Riddle with a chinlock but fans rally. Riddle fights up, throws body shots, but Jimmy throws Riddle down by his hair! The ref reprimands, and he checks on Riddle. Orton wants to know what’s going on, and even a medic gets in. Is Riddle okay to continue? We’ll see, after the break.

SmackDown returns once again, and Riddle powers Jimmy back, only for Jey to tag in! The Usos double whip Riddle for a DOUBLE SPINEBUSTER! Riddle writhes, clutching his hip. The damage done by those buckles is the bull’s eye for Jey’s stomp! Riddle flounders to ropes but Jey CHOKES him! The ref counts, Jey lets off, but Jimmy sucker punches Riddle down! Heyman compliments Riddle’s resilience for still fighting through the pain, but Jey drags Riddle from Orton. Fans rally for Riddle, Jey tags Jimmy, and they hoist Riddle up to HEADBUTT and CLUB the hip! Jimmy STOMPS the hip and Riddle writhes again.

Jimmy stomps Riddle’s back, then sits Riddle up into a rear bearhug! Riddle endures the squeeze, fans rally up, and Riddle reaches out! Jimmy tries to keep Riddle from Orton, but Riddle keeps fighting. Jimmy hits a back suplex! Jimmy tells fans to hush, then he tags Jey in. Jey stomps Riddle again, “We the ones!” Jey drags Riddle up, but Riddle gets around to ripcord and FINAL FLASH! Fans fire up while both men are down! Riddle and Jey crawl, hot tags to Jimmy and Orton! Fans are thunderous as The Viper rallies, dodges, and POWERSLAMS! Fans fire up more, Jey runs in for a POWERSLAM!

Orton has Jimmy on the apron and drags him in through the ropes! Fans are thunderous for the DRAPING DDT! Fans fire up more as Orton hears those voices in his head! Jimmy staggers up, RKO!! Cover, Jey breaks it!! Jey drags Jimmy back to the corner and tags himself in. Jey then hurries after Orton, blocks an RKO, but Riddle tags in! SUPERKICK to Orton, but Riddle manages to jump in, spin around and PELE! Riddle fights through the bad him to kip up! Forearm smash, side to side and forearm smash! BROSPLODER! BROTON onto knees!! Riddle still swings, but into the POP-UP NECKBREAKER! Cover, TWO!!

Jey is furious that Riddle survived! “This is Awesome!” but Heyman is stressing out on commentary. Jey drags Riddle up, pushes him to the corner and runs in, but into an elbow! Riddle goes up, but Jey trips him up! Riddle crashes down to the mat! Jey goes up the corner, Heyman just quits commentary, because Riddle springs right up! Riddle cravats, but Jey pulls hair! Riddle rains down elbows, Heyman distracts the ref! ROMAN APPEARS! He anchors Jey to save him from the Super RKO, and Riddle crashes down!! Jey adjusts, USO SPLASH!! Cover, USOS WIN!!!

Winners: The Usos, by pinfall (UNDISPUTED WWE Tag Team Champions)

And Roman has a big smile on his face. The Tribal Chief and Special Counsel made sure . And then Roman BOOTS Riddle down, fires off hands, and drags him up. Orton gets back up, The Usos DOUBLE SUPERKICK Orton back down! The Usos RAM Orton with steel steps while Roman hauls Riddle to the desk! Roman uses a GUILLOTINE to choke Riddle out! The Usos RAM Orton again and he finally falls! Roman DECKS Riddle to put him on the desk, and then Jey climbs the corner?! SUPER USO SPLASH THROUGH THE DESK!!! The Bloodline stands tall, having stunned everyone! Referees and officials want them to stop but Roman uses a GUILLOTINE to choke out Orton!!

The Tribal Chief lets Orton go to tell the officials to stop touching him! He’ll smash all y’all! The Bloodline then gather up their titles, and hold them all up in the middle of the ring. Is there absolutely no stopping their reign of terror over the WWE?

My Thoughts:

What a wild episode for SmackDown. First off, while the “controversy” of Roman helping out was expected, I did not think one bit that they’d let the result come through. At the same time, Roman was definitely pissed about that Final Flash outta nowhere so of course he went after Riddle that hard. The Bloodline is draped in gold, they annihilated RKBRO, and they might not even have challengers for Hell in a Cell. In story, they should revel in that, and use their sway as the top champions on both brands to get the night off. Plus, so many singles matches for Hell in a Cell, like Cody VS Seth, can be seen as a contender’s match.

Now in actual controversy, the situation with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships is upsetting. I’ll say right now if this is all a work, it’s a very deep and dedicated one. If it isn’t a work, holy crap what a bunch of BS from the WWE but what else is new? The little statement by Maggle was WWE putting their side forward as the only truth, but I personally feel Sasha & Naomi are at least standing up for the Women’s Tag Division when the company isn’t. And what hilarious nonsense is it to say they’re going to have a tournament when by my count, it’s only Shayna & Natty on SmackDown, Piper & Nikki on Raw, and shit else without calling up NXT teams for this. If WWE gave a damn and had more teams on RawDown before this point, it wouldn’t have come to this.

Sami VS Nakamura was a great first match for the night, a great step up from the match a couple weeks ago, and Sami still wearing a Bloodline shirt is a great continuation of his story with them. I really want to see Sami try and use all this as a reason he should get something in return. Chances are, it’ll be a shot at the Intercontinental Championship, not the Undisputed Universal title. Gunther VS Gulak felt even more one-sided than last time because Gulak didn’t even get an entrance. But as I figured, Ricochet comes out to make the save, definitely setting up Ricochet VS Gunther for the IC title.

Corbin oddly had a very good promo segment because he wasn’t being so jovial. If anything, call this guy “Psycho Corbin” because he goes and smashes the trophy that he said he wanted to keep. Corbin will probably get himself in the Money in the Bank match so he’ll return to Vegas, where he became Happy Corbin in the first place. Then he can lose there because of Moss making a miraculous return, and the Corbin VS Moss feud actually finishes at SummerSlam. But in immediate disappointment, the new name and gimmick for LA Knight makes its debut. Max Dupri, owner of a male modeling agency, long after they cut the Fashion Police, Breezango. Vince and team continue to have bad pacing and timing.

One instance where it isn’t really their fault, though, is with the feud between The New Day and… Sigh… The Brawling Brutes. What a disappointing attempt at a faction name. Why not just call them what I’ve been calling them, The Fight Night Boys! That’s been their entire thing! Pat McAfee shouts “IT’S… FIGHT NIGHT!” And while it’s awesome Woods’ finisher is a cradle, it was pretty clear they were giving us something more next. Woods & Kofi bringing in a sub for Big E is a cool move, I just hope if this is a call-up, we don’t get another weird rename. And then, with this Six Man Tag, we need to see this feud end.

We did get good stuff from the rest of the SmackDown Women’s Division, though. Shotzi picking a fight with Raquel before their match was good Heel stuff, and the way she was talking, she feels more like Judgement Day material than anyone in Judgement Day right now. The match was very good stuff, but I swear if Fox was censoring “Chingona” just because it roughly translates to “badass,” I have another reason to hate this damn WWE on Fox deal. But Raquel winning, she’s going to be a strong Face on this brand, but I have a feeling one of the many Heels on SmackDown get around her to get at Ronda, especially with MITB still on the horizon.

My Score: 8.7/10

Andrew’s IMPACT Results & Match Ratings: 6.30.2022

The Go Home to Against All Odds with the main event of Battle of the Futures Redux! TNA vibes and hype in the Asylum!

Against All Odds is tomorrow, and the one thing IMPACT has excelled with are the quick turnaround angles. Plus we also HOPEFULLY get a real finish to the Battle of the Futures 2022 edition. Frankie Kazarian and Chris Sabin have a main event that could definitely be something special.

  • Fatal 4 Way: Steve Maclin vs Trey Miguel vs Laredo Kid vs Chris Bey: Trey wins via Meteora – ***
  • Rosemary vs Gisele Shaw: Gisele wins via Knee Strike – ** ¼
  • Savannah Evans w/Tasha Steelz vs Jordynne Grace: Jordynne wins via Muscle Buster – **
  • IMPACT Tag Team Championship: The Good Brothers (c) w/James Storm vs Vincent & PCO w/ Honor No More: Karl retains via Roll Up – ** ½
  • Ace Austin w/Chris Bey vs Alex Zayne: Ace wins via The Fold – ** ¾
  • Battle of the Futures Redux: Frankie Kazarian vs Chris Sabin w/Alex Shelley: Sabin wins via Cradle Shock – *****

Fatal 4 Way: Steve Maclin vs Trey Miguel vs Laredo Kid vs Chris Bey

Early on the smaller men gang up on Maclin, which of course is the smart thing to do. Trey and Bey trade a few shots, Laredo tries to interject himself but Maclin comes back in and starts taking over. Wipes out most of the guys then they start trickling in for pinfall saves and each guy chopping at the bigger man. Trey does however go for a John Woo, misses and Tree of Woes himself to set up for Maclin’s Caught in the Crosshairs corner spear.

Action continues to be pretty fluid, Trey takes out Maclin, Bey looks for an Asai Moonsault, but turns it into the 5 Hole Dive that MCMG do when Laredo Kid dives through Bey’s legs. Then Bey hits the Asai Moonsault and Bey brings Laredo into the ring and tries to find a winning angle. Pop Up Cutter from Bey, but Trey saves it. A little back and forth, Trey goes to the top, misses the Meteora, but lands on his feet and manages a Running Meteora for the pinfall victory.

Trey beat Speedball before Slammiversary, so Speedball has some payback in his mind.

Rosemary vs Gisele Shaw

Madison Rayne and Tenille Dashwood are at the commentary desk for this match since Gisele did offer to fill in for an injured Madison for the Knockouts Tag rematch.

Rosemary controls Gisele early and then bends her backwards and bites her forehead. Gisele almost starts taking back over, but then Rosemary gets out of a headlock the Crazzy Steve way. Rosemary takes some control early until Gisele powders and tries to find a way back into the match. Commercial break brings us to Gisele taking Rosemary’s head off with a Lariat.

Now Gisele is in control, throws Rosemary into a corner and starts pandering for a photo op and posturing to The Influence. Gisele strings together a lot of corner attacks, whips her into the corner again and lays her out with a Flying European Uppercut. Gisele tries to hit the knee in the back of the head, but Rosemary moves and starts her comeback. Big Suplex from the corner and Rosemary keeps her down for 2. Rosemary is in control until Gisele hits and Oscutter out of nowhere for 2. Reverse DDT from Rosemary for another near fall and then The Influence is on the move. They ambush Taya, Rosemary tries to go for her Spear anyway and Shaw kills Rosemary with a great Knee Strike. Rosemary is out, Gisele wins.

A small beat down, and then The Influence pause in the ring for a little, before posing with Gisele and seemingly giving their mark of approval on her being in The Influence now.

Savannah Evans w/Tasha Steelz vs Jordynne Grace

Savannah bulldozes Jordynne into the corner, but the power game is pretty even here. Savannah has some height, but Jordynne is quicker. Jordynne manages to turn the tables on Savannah, up and over in the corner and whips her into the ropes while setting up behind her causing Evans to trip and fall. Savannah powders, Jordynne tries to break up the discussion, but after a quick flurry, Savannah hits an Apron Chokeslam and takes over.

After some back and forth, Jordynne takes back over and then Muscle Buster on Savannah Evans and its over!

IMPACT Tag Team Championship: The Good Brothers (c) w/James Storm vs Vincent & PCO w/ Honor No More

Karl and Vincent start things off, and corner to corner we see the Machine Gun in control, but a thumb to the eyes and quick strike give Vincent the chance to tag in PCO. French Canadian Frankenstein starts beating on Karl, throws him into the ropes, Vincent kicks him and it just pisses off Karl. But Karl getting distracted gives PCO the ambush chance and Karl is just getting rocked. Vincent tagged back in, quick strikes including a corner Facewash with the elbow, sliding Flatliner and PCO is back in.

PCO goes Splash into dropping DDT before hitting the middle rope Guillotine Leg Drop. LG has gotten no action while Karl is getting killed. Deanimator set up looks to take out Karl even further, and it hits! Vincent tags in, and finally Anderson Spinebuster gets LG a hot tag. Big Boot takes out PCO on the apron, Superkick and flying Big Man flattens Vincent, tag to Karl, Magic Killer set up…but PCO with the save. Satellite Russian Leg Sweep from Vincent, RedRUM misses and Karl scoops the Small Package for the win.

Immediately Honor No More attacks. Chris Harris slides in and Honor No More choose to jaw and tease him instead of attacking immediately. HEATH’s music hits before they can attack Harris, and he comes loaded with pipes. Harris and Heath lay out Honor No More with pipes, Wake Up Call from Heath, Pump Kick, Gun Stun and then only Taven is left. Last Call Superkick sends Taven to sleep.

Ace Austin w/Chris Bey vs Alex Zayne

Zayne tries to start immediately, but Ace takes a page from the Jay White book and powders right away. Ace stays a step ahead until a nice Flipping Bodyscissors out of the corner keeps Ace rolling and eating some kicks. Ace tries a top corner move and Zayne flips into a Headscissors for the advantage before commercial. Coming back Ace is in control after driving Zayne into the post.

Ace and Zayne trade, we see Zayne finally get the best of the situations. Cinnamon Twist or Crunchwrap Supreme are hinted at, but Ace rolls away. Zayne tries to get Ace in position for his Taco Driver, but Ace has all the answers. Big kicks and strikes, Ace goes for the Outside/In Avalanche Headscissors, but Zayne mostly flips the through it, but eats a Triangle Kick for his attempted counter. The Fold – gets countered with a Sauce Trigger! Ace powders, Moonsauce to take out Bey and Ace, but Bey grabs his foot before he can get back in, Ace keeps the referee distracted…THE FOLD as soon as Zayne is back in the ring and Bullet Club wins!

Battle of the Futures Redux: Frankie Kazarian vs Chris Sabin w/ Alex Shelley

If this is as good as I anticipate…I may forget how to type. So fair warning if I get sucked in, this could be a short review.

We saw both men had a plan, Sabin went after Kaz’s legs early and often, where Kaz focused on the neck. There were great callbacks, classic moments, even the feint with the Flux Capacitor which is how Kaz won the original Battle of the Futures.

This was Brian Hebner’s final match, and hot damn was it a classic. Everything about this was great.

Overall Score: 9/10

Starting out hot with the X Division match, 2 solid Knockouts matches and a main event that could’ve easily been on any PPV over the last 20 years. This set the stage well for tomorrow’s Against All Odds and could’ve been one of the best Go Home episodes from any company in recent memory. Also it was really awesome getting the Raven vignette to hype the Clockwork Orange House of Fun.

My review of Against All Odds will be a little late since I had prior engagements because Fridays aren’t usually PPVs, but I’ll get to it on Saturday. Watch it live yourself, catch the run down Saturday, either way IMPACT is killin it with that TNA vibe. Maybe its time we go back to a certain 3 letters…a 6 sided ring, or hell, just announce Lethal Lockdown. Bring that back from the dead dammit!

Mitchell’s WWE NXT UK Results & Report! (6/30/22)

Artful Dodger or dastardly coward? You decide!

Last time he was on NXT UK, Trent Seven gave us crocodile tears and betrayed Tyler Bate! What will Seven say this week about what he’s done?

  • Blair Davenport VS Angel Hayze; Davenport wins.
  • Emilia McKenzie VS Fallon Henley; Henley wins.
  • Wolfgang VS Sha Samuels w/ Noam Dar; Wolfgang wins.

Blair Davenport VS Angel Hayze!

NXT UK beware, it’s the return of the heir! The gothic gladiator is back after that freak accident during her NXT UK Women’s Championship match with Meiko Satomura. Will Blair prove that nothing will stop her from taking the throne this time? Or will Angel leave her in a haze in her first match back?

The bell rings and the two circle. Blair and Angel tie up, go around, and Blair puts Angel on the ropes. The ref counts but Blair lets off fast. Blair endures, stays up, CLUBS Angel and powers out with a BIG suplex! Fans fire up, Blair hauls Angel up for the FALCON ARROW! Cover, Blair wins!

Winner: Blair Davenport, by pinfall

And the heir gets right back on track! Blair gets the mic to say she is back! And she is here to crush all of your hopes. Is that key word a message to a certain someone? Or is it a message to everyone who would dare defy the heir?

NXT UK Media caught up with Sid Scala.

The Assistant General Manager returns to his office, and Kenny Williams is there waiting! Kenny says it’s about time Sid showed up! Kenny’s been working all night, as we can see by the conspiracy web taking over Sid’s office, and Kenny claims he has finally figured it out! Tiger Turan has to be none other than… Sid says Kenny needs to stop, this isn’t why Sid asked to meet with him. This is about next week, a match between Kenny and Tiger Turan! And just as Sid says that, Tiger steps in. Kenny says this is just who he was looking for. But here’s what will happen. Kenny will win, knock Turan out and take off his mask to reveal it’s Amir Jordan!

So right now, Tiger Turan can clean up this mess while Kenny prepares. Is the Scum of the Earth on to something? Is Tiger Turan obsessed with Kenny because it’s Amir Jordan, the man Kenny banished from NXT UK over a year ago? Or is he going to lose this match along with his mind?

Noam Dar & Sha Samuels enter the NXT UK Performance Center.

The Scottish Supernova isn’t sure why they’re here, but the East End Bookie/Butcher promises it is for good reason: they’re going to make some big money. Dar then sees the ring and the training session Mark Coffey is helping with. Dar & Sha taunt them and Mark walks over to ask, “What’s wrong? Run out of ways to cheat?” Dar says he never needs to cheat, and certainly not to beat Mark. Dar didn’t need to cheat to beat “Dog Man” Wolfgang, or to beat big brother Joe and run him out of town. Mark points out Dar only won because of his bookie at ringside. Mark guarantees that if Sha isn’t around, Mark wins the cup.

Sha says no way, Dar is the best ever! Mark says they can bet on it. Sha takes that bet! 100 to 1, Dar still beats Mark! Sha puts money on it quite literally, and says the market is open! Everyone else swarms Sha, wanting to put money on this, too! Dar looks worried with just how many want to join in. Are they betting all on Mark? Dar is a bit upset by that, but will he prove Sha right and take everyone, including Coffey, to the cleaners?

Emilia McKenzie VS Fallon Henley!

#SuplexMillie is still Meiko Satomura’s protégé, but she might be feeling the pressure as of late. The Final Boss demands the best out of her disciple, but will those expectations be met? Or will the Cowgirl rope herself a big win just like Briggs & Jensen did?

The bell rings and the two tie up. They go around, end up in a deadlock, but Millie shots around to waistlock. Fallon pries at the hold, standing switches, and SLAMS Millie down. Millie slips out to hammerlock and fans rally for Millie as she cranks the hold. Fallon fights to sit up, rolls out and has the wristlock. Millie slips through, wristlocks back, but Fallon pries at the hold. Fallon slips through, hammerlocks Millie now, but Millie works on the hold. Fallon rolls Millie up, TWO! Fans applaud the opening exchange as the two stare down. Fallon and Millie reset, tie up with knuckle locks, and they have a test of strength!

Millie wrenches the wrists, kicks an arm, rolls and trips Fallon to have a standing toehold! Fallon endures, uses her free leg to kick free, but Millie cartwheels through. Fans applaud again, and even Fallon offers a handshake. Millie accepts and fans cheer the sportsmanship, and the two tie up again. Millie powers Fallon back but Fallon turns it around to arm-drag Millie away. Fallon shoots in but Millie sits on the cover, ONE! Fallon sunset flips, ONE! Millie tries a jackknife but Fallon rolls through it, TWO! Millie has the sunset, TWO!! Fans fire up for that exchange and the two reset again.

They tie up, Millie headlocks, but Fallon powers up. Millie holds tight, Fallon pries the hold open and turns it around onto Millie! Millie endures, powers out but Fallon runs her over! Fallon does a two step then runs, but Millie keeps up with the drop, sidestep, but Fallon counters hip toss with a hip toss! Fallon arm-drags Millie away and Millie takes a moment to catch her breath. Fallon is on her but Millie EuroUppers! Millie kicks low, CLUBS Fallon on the back, and has her on the ropes. Millie CLUBS Fallon again, has her in a corner now and kicks her low. Fallon throws shots back but Millie CLUBS Fallon, into the TWIST ‘N’ SHOUT! Cover, TWO!

Fans rally and Millie clamps on a chinlock. Millie shifts to have almost a bully choke but Fallon endures. Fans rally again as Fallon fights up. Fallon throws elbows, body shots, but Millie EuroUppers! Fallon catches on to hooks and a backslide, TWO! Fallon rolls Millie again, TWO! Millie CLOBBERS Fallon! Cover, TWO! Millie is on Fallon again, going after the arms. Fallon fights but Millie still gets a COBRA CLUTCH! Fallon endures, resists, and fans rally as Millie still tries to lock this on! Fallon fights, Millie might just have it! Fallon is fading as Millie bends her backwards!! But Fallon gets a second wind and pries free to arm-drag Millie away!

Millie comes back to ROCK Fallon, Fallon ROCKS Millie! They throw hands, and Fallon DECKS Millie! Fallon fires up to back elbow Millie in a corner! And then a RUNNING FACEBUSTER! Cover, TWO!! Fans fire up as Millie survives! Fallon drags Millie up, fireman’s carries, but Millie slips off and shoves to then LARIAT! And again! Millie shoots around to get Fallon up for a BIG bag suplex! Cover, TWO! Fans rally and Millie snarls as she hauls Fallon up. Fallon fights the German Suplex, pops free to switch, but Millie elbows Fallon. Millie whips Fallon to a corner but Fallon goes up and over. Fallon’s leg tweaks! Millie shows no mercy, CHOP BLOCK!!

Millie stomps away on Fallon’s leg and fans fire up! Millie drags Fallon up, reels her in, SHIN BREAKER! And then another SHIN BREAKER! Fallon hobbles, Millie gets her again, but Fallon sunset flips! FALLON WINS!

Winner: Fallon Henley, by pinfall

Millie showed her killer instinct, but maybe she let it get the better of her! Will this be the exact opposite of what Meiko wanted for Millie?

NXT UK Media catches up with Oliver Carter.

They ask him if he’s been keeping in contact with Ashton Smith while he’s out with injury. Of course! Oliver has Ashton on speed dial. They are brothers, that’s never gonna change. But then Teoman and his Die Familie “brothers,” Rohan Raja and Charlie Dempsey slither in and say hi to “Oli.” They sit with him and they feel like this is deja vu. Oliver’s alone, no Ashton Smith, no titles. Oliver needs a family to watch out for him. It is a dangerous place out there. Join them! It’s in his best interest. They’ll let him think about it, and take their leave. Is there anything to think about? Or will the Hottest Superstar Under the Sun actually consider their invitation?

NXT UK Media catches up with Sarray.

The Warrior of the Sun is about to get in a set of squats as they ask her how she feels after her NXT UK debut. Sarray says it was very good. She got a win over Nina Samuels, and she- “Aww~, look!” Xia and Eliza return to mock Sarray for simply training in the UK PC after her first win. It’s so cute. But has Eliza heard the good news? Sarray’s sticking around for a bit. Oh, is she? But then Meiko and Millie step up to back the bullies down. Eliza tells Sarray that she better just play by their rules, or they’ll be more than happy to teach Sarray a few things.

Meiko tells Eliza that she talks too much. If Eliza & Xia want a match with Meiko and Sarray, then Eliza & Xia will be the ones being taught a lesson. Millie seems a bit surprised Meiko didn’t choose her, while Xia & Eliza storm off, Xia complaining about who is teaching who lessons. But with that, Sarray finishes putting up the weights for Meiko to take a turn. Will Final Boss & Warrior of the Sun prove to the bullies the power of Joshi Strong Style?

Wolfgang VS Sha Samuels w/ Noam Dar!

The Last King of Scotland heard the East End Butcher talking some smack like he wouldn’t hear it. But since he did, it’s time for Sha to put his money where his mouth is! Will Wolfgang get a big win and cash in? Or will Sha find another way to weasel out another victory?

The bell rings and the two circle. Sha gets some last minute pointers from Dar. They say they can frustrate Wolfgang and get the edge. But then Dar needs to give Sha another pointer. The ref insists they get this started already, and Wolfgang rushes in. Sha dodges, then dodges again. Sha goes back to Dar for that last pointer but Wolfgang throws Sha out of the corner! Wolfgang fires off haymakers, then an arm-drag! Wolfgang keeps on the arm with a wristlock, then stands Sha up to RAM shoulders. And again! And then a straight arm lever and SLAM! Fans fire up and Wolfgang drags Sha up again to RAM shoulders again.

Wolfgang wrenches, and hits a straight arm suplex! Cover, ONE! Dar is upset but Wolfgang keeps on Sha’s arm. Sha ROCKS Wolfgang with his free arm, then bumps Wolfgang off buckles. Sha bumps Wolfgang off more buckles, then throws heavy back elbows. Sha runs in to SPLASH Wolfgang. Wolfgang shoves Sha away, runs in, but Sha sends Wolfgang into buckles! Fans boo but Dar wants to throw up the X. Sha grabs the bad arm for an ARMBAR DDT! Sha CLUBS the bad arm, uppercuts it, then hip drops on it! Wolfgang clutches that arm, tries to get it working, but Sha drops an elbow on it!

Sha clamps onto the arm, Wolfgang fights the cobra clutch and throws body shots. But Sha wrenches and WRINGS the bad arm! Dar offers a drink but Sha says no, he has to keep working. Sha throws down elbows into the bad arm, then stands on Wolfgang to say, “ON THE MONEY~!” Sha KICKS the bad leg, then shouts out “EAST~!” Sha stomps Wolfgang but fans chant, “You’re a Mug! You’re a Mug!” Dar says yeah, Wolfgang’s the mug! But that’s not who they mean. Sha RAMS Wolfgang into the buckles, stomps away on the bad arm, then runs in to stomp it again! The ref backs Sha off, and Dar SMACKS Wolfgang around with the papers!

Wolfgang gets mad and he CHOPS Sha! And CHOPS again! And counter punches! Wolfgang suplexes Sha, but Sha fights to get to the apron. Sha HOTSHOTS the bad arm! Wolfgang staggers away and Sha gets in to run and LARIAT! Cover, TWO! Wolfgang is still in this, and Dar offers another drink. Sha says no, and he drops elbow after elbow on Wolfgang! Sha then goes up a corner, and leaps for a FLYING ELBOW DROP! Cover, TWO! Wolfgang is still in this and fans rally up. Sha stalks Wolfgang, CLUBS him at the ropes, then pulls on the bad arm. Wolfgang ROCKS Sha and gives him a kitchen sink knee! BASEMENT SENTON!

Dar is worried as Wolfgang suplexes Sha for the CAB- NO, no toss! Sha slips off, CLUBS Wolfgang and has a top wristlock on the bad arm! Fans rally as Wolfgang endures, fights up, but Sha wants the arm! Wolfgang arm-drags free! Wolfgang goes to the corner, Sha runs in but Wolfgang sends him into buckles! Wolfgang bumps Sha off buckles, fires off haymakers, then keeps Sha cornered to CHOP! Wolfgang whips corner to corner, then runs in, into an uppercut! Wolfgang snarls, shoves Sha back in, and SPLASHES in the corner! Sha flops and Wolfgang is on the apron, working on the bad arm.

Wolfgang climbs but Dar distracts! The ref reprimands but Wolfgang leaps, into a SPINEBUSTER from Sha! Cover, TWO!! Fans rally for Wolfgang while Sha is furious! Sha hauls Wolfgang up, reels him in and whips, but Wolfgang slips off the scoop to POINT-BLANK SPEAR!! But the bad arm holds Wolfgang back from making the cover, and Sha crawls away to his corner. Dar fans Sha, but fans rally for Wolfgang. Wolfgang grabs at Sha on the apron, hauls him up the corner, but Sha throws body shots. Sha HOTSHOTS the bad arm again! Wolfgang is stuck up top and Sha ROCKS him with haymakers! Sha DECKS Wolfgang!

Sha climbs up again, for the FROG SPLASH onto knees! Wolfgang saves himself but both men are down and writhing. Fans rally up again and Wolfgang grits his teeth as he gets back up. Wolfgang rallies on Sha with the one good arm! Wolfgang whips Sha to then back drop him! Fans fire up, Sha gets to a corner and Wolfgang runs in to fire off forearms! Wolfgang howls and runs, to SPLASH again! Dar is up on the apron but Wolfgang BOOTS him down! Fans cheer and Wolfgang SLINGSHOTS to SPEAR!! Cover, Wolfgang wins!!

Winner: Wolfgang, by pinfall

Fans cheer as the Last King of Scotland stands tall! This Gallus Boy is on top, but will Mark Coffey be on top in two weeks after he gets one more shot at Dar and the Heritage Cup?

Trent Seven heads to the ring.

And what a strange thing, for all the fans to boo this Founding Father of NXT UK. He gets a mic and “thanks” us all for that reception. Seven heard the chant of “Why, Trent, Why?” Good question! He will use visual aids to explain just exactly why. The tron shows Trent giving Tyler Bate that truly underhanded low blow uppercut. Trent gets teary eyed as he says it is just beautiful. “It’s the best low blow ever. That’s what it is.” Just look at his positioning! A work of art, really. And more importantly, it represents a turning point. “That right there is the most important moment in British Sports.” Fans chant, “No it’s not! No it’s not!”

But he says yes it is, and we all know it is, “because it’s the moment that Trent Seven saved the industry.” Fans boo but Seven asks they listen. It is the truth “because this place was dead! This studio was a ghost town! And now look at you all! Now look at you all back! The largest crowd in NXT UK BT Sports history is here because Trent Seven is on top!” Fans boo more but Seven says, “It’s a fact. This is where I like to be. Right here. Right at the top, right in the middle, the CENTER of attention!” Fans chant, “We Want Tyler!” and Seven is annoyed. “Tyler Bate is done. Now I am the center of attention, and we were the center of attention as British Strong Style! And as Moustache Mountain.”

Seven goes on about how they were touring the world, selling out every arena, and promotors were begging them to even be on the shows. “Please~! We need you~!” Yes, they did. And that is why fans need to understand it isn’t Seven who changed, it’s Tyler who changed. Seven never lost the killer instinct, he never stopped doing what was needed to win, but it was Tyler who lost his nerve. That will to win is gone, because “it’s all that rubbish, sitting in a field, hugging a tree.” But Bate isn’t coming back, and we know he won’t because he won’t fight Seven! Fans chant, “Yes, He Will!” Seven says no, he won’t, because Bate lost his fighting spirit.

“Tyler Bate is the Little Weak Boy. And I am NXT UK! I am this brand! I am NXT! I am British Strong Style! Come here! Come here! I am Moustache Mountain!!” Fans boo as Seven sets down the mic, and Seven says everyone knows he’s telling the truth. Is he telling the truth about the future of NXT UK? Or will Tyler Bate prove Trent Seven is a liar and make a heroic return?

Wait, a fan gets really heated about Seven saying Tyler is weak and afraid. So much so, friends and security are trying to get him to calm down. But the fan jumps the barrier instead! Security rushes in to stop this man from getting closer and Seven says, “We’ve got a live one!” And then he LOW BLOW KICKS the fan!! Referees rush out and say Seven is out of line! Seven says the fan is the one who got up in Seven’s face. Is there nothing Seven won’t do just to make himself feel like the bigger man?

My Thoughts:

A very good episode of NXT UK with some good set-up for the summer episodes. Blair Davenport gets a good return match win, with Angel Hayze still looking very good in the loss. And Blair emphasizing “hope” at the end of her promo has to be her setting up something with Amale before moving on to the title again. Kenny and Sid had a good interaction to set up Kenny VS Tiger Turan. But sadly for me and my theories, if Kenny also thinks Amir Jordan is Tiger Turan, then that must mean it isn’t because they wouldn’t do that. They can’t let Kenny be right about this, right? It’d be pretty wild for Kenny to win and be right about who Tiger Turan is under the mask.

Millie VS Fallon was a very good match, but I feel like they could’ve played up more of Millie struggling to be aggressive before it backfired on her. But Millie losing does help build her story of disappointing Meiko and herself. Millie also had a very good bit of character work showing her surprise and bit of hurt feelings when Meiko chose Sarray to be her tag partner against Xia & Eliza. But that’s still going to be an awesome match with Sarray and Meiko side by side. Meiko & Sarray will surely win and that will surely set up Meiko VS Sarray for an awesome NXT UK Women’s Championship.

We got a decent interaction from Oliver Carter and Die Familie. I would think Carter rejects Die Familie’s invitation, and he could easily team up with other superstars who don’t like Die Familie, like Mastiff & Starz or even A-Kid. And we got a pretty good promo with Sha, Dar and Mark Coffey about how we’re getting that 100 to 1 betting odds Heritage Cup match. If Mark is getting one more shot in what Dar claims should be his “retirement” match, does that mean Mark wins? Someone from Gallus should get something more, and Dar losing will be his own reason for “not retiring.” Plus, if Mark wins, and Joe Coffey comes back, I’d love seeing Mark VS Joe for the cup.

Wolfgang VS Sha was a great main event match, and I figured Wolfgang would win to get Gallus back up. I don’t know what’s next for Wolfgang, but he’s always been a solid character and in-ring worker. And then, we closed with a very good promo from Seven, with him playing off the crowd’s chants and booing very well. That final bit with “the fan” was quite a surprise but it sure adds to Seven’s Heel heat. But obviously, Bate is coming back and he is going to have one hell of a match with Seven. Can’t be sure who wins that, but it’d make a lot of sense if Seven cheated to win, and then somehow, Seven uses that to go after Ilja Dragunov and the UK Championship.

My Score: 8.5/10
