#KillerKyle survives and now he’ll be facing The Maniac in the main event! Speaking of which…

Moxley speaks backstage!

“For three years, I’ve been big game hunting in NJPW. For three years, I’ve been blazing a trail with AEW. And it’s funny how things work out. It’s been a weird year, it’s been a strange year. It hasn’t been easy. More than people know. But I told you in January, I was gonna grab professional wrestling by the balls. Tonight, I guess this is Wednesday Night Wars come to life, right? With all due respect, Kyle O’Reilly, all of due respect, you are now in with the wrong guy at the wrong place at the wrong time. Because this tournament, this opportunity, whatever you wanna call it, it belongs to me! The Forbidden Door belongs to me! It always has.

June 26th, it’ll be a moment three years in the making! “Three years of blood, sweat and tears, in one fell swoop, NJPW, AEW and this entire sport, belong to me! Love you, mom.” Moxley is ready to take on O’Reilly, but who tears the other apart just to step closer to the Forbidden Door?

AEW has good news on CM Punk.

His surgery’s leg was a success, the doctors are very happy with the outcome, and more updates will come in as time goes on.

AEW has a NEW title on the way!

Tony Schiavone narrates, “Since its formation in 2019, All Elite Wrestling, led by the visionary, Tony Khan, has shaken the world of professional wrestling. Now it’s time to give AEW’s roster of championship athletes a new reason to fight and fulfill their destiny. AEW presents the All-Atlantic Championship, a new title that represents the AEW fans watching around the world in over 130 countries. This spectacular international stage promises to bring you the best of the best for decades to come.”

But who will be the first to hold the All-Atlantic title? A tournament of international flavor will be held, starting tonight! Four brackets will give us the four men who will fight in a Fatal 4 Way at AEW X NJPW: Forbidden Door! Mexico will have Penta Oscuro taking on the Netherlands’ Malakai Black! Canada’s Ethan Page takes on Bulgaria’s Miro, and NJPW will determine its entrants for both Japan and the rest of Asia. But up next, the United Kingdom’s Bastard, PAC, takes on Australia’s Juggernaut, Buddy Matthews!

AEW All-Atlantic Championship Tournament: PAC VS Buddy Matthews!

Not only is this battle about the new belt coming to AEW, but this is also about Death Triangle avenging the underhanded way the House of Black won at Double or Nothing! Will PAC make Buddy pay for the sins of the House? Or Buddy break the Bastard once and for all?

The bell rings, fans rally and the two stare down. Buddy and Pac circle, tie up, and Buddy wrenches to a wristlock. Buddy YANKS the arm, grinds Pac’s shoulder, but Pac fights up. Buddy wrenches again, Pac rolls, pries free, and has the wristlock back. Buddy rolls, handsprings around, then wrenches again. Buddy grinds the arm, fans duel, and Pac uses ropes to flip through and wrench. Buddy wrenches, hits a headlock takeover, but Pac keeps his shoulders up. Pac headscissors, Buddy kips free but Pac headlocks for the takeover. Buddy headscissors, Pac kips free, Buddy sweeps to cover, ONE! Pac sweeps the cover, ONE!

Both men spring up and fans fire up for the stare down! Pac and Buddy reset, circle, and they tie up. Buddy headlocks, Pac powers out, but Buddy runs Pac over! Things speed up, and Pac kips up to stare Buddy down. Pac ducks the haymaker, headlocks but Buddy powers out. Pac runs Buddy over, things speed up, Buddy hurdles but Pac RANAS! Buddy bails out, Pac builds speed, but fakes Buddy out with the slide. Buddy rushes out after Pac but Pac gets back in. Pac and Buddy egg each other on. Pac slides out but Buddy fakes Pac now! The two stare down ringside as AEW goes picture in picture.

Pac grabs Buddy to whip but Buddy reverses, only for Pac to reverse back! Buddy tumbles over the timekeeper’s table! Pac tells the ref to hold on while he fetches Buddy. Pac brings Buddy up and puts him in, and then he goes up the top rope. Buddy trips Pac up! Buddy climbs up after Pac, brings him into a fireman’s carry, but Pac fights with elbows! But Buddy still brings Pac up to DROP him on the top rope! Not quite a Chicago Skyline but Pac still tumbles down to the floor! Buddy goes out after Pac, brings him up, and RAMS him into the railing! Buddy then hits an APRON BACK SUPLEX! Buddy snarls and brings Pac off the apron, for another APRON BACK SUPLEX!

Buddy pushes Pac into the ring and drags him up by his hair. Buddy brings Pac back to the apron, suplexes, but Pac fights free! Dynamite returns to single picture as Pac grabs at Buddy but Buddy shoulders into him. Buddy shoulders into Pac again, then talks trash right to Pac’s face. Pac avoids the shoulder to KICK Buddy! Pac runs to tilt-o-whirl DRAPING DDT!! Both men are down and fans fire up! Pac drags himself away and fans rally up. Pac watches Buddy crawl from the ropes, Pac ROCKS him with a forearm! Buddy ROCKS Pac, so Pack ROCKS Buddy back. Buddy throws another forearm, but Pac throws more and more forearms!

Pac swings, Buddy blocks to fire off a strike fest! Buddy KICKS Pac, stomps Pac’s foot, but Pac avoids the kick to sobat! And KICK! And sobat! Buddy drops, Pac runs, but Buddy UPPERCUTS! Buddy snapmares Pac and runs, but Pac ducks the kick to roll Buddy up! TWO, Buddy blocks the first superkick but not the second SUPERKICK! Buddy drops again, Pac runs again, but into Buddy’s JUMP KNEE! Fans fire up while both men wobble. Buddy runs into a SNAP GERMAN! LARIAT!! Both men are down and fans fire back up! Buddy flounders and Pac fires up!

Pac runs in at Buddy as fans give a standing ovation, BOOT! Pac keeps Buddy in the drop zone then goes right up! BLACK ARROW!! Cover, Pac wins!!

Winner: PAC, by pinfall (advances to Forbidden Door)

The Bastard avenges Death Triangle, and both Fenix and Penta make their way out to celebrate with him. But this won’t be the end of it, as Penta and Malakai meet in another match in this tournament. Will Death Triangle have two men in? Or will Malakai avenge Buddy and go to the Forbidden Door for the House?

Eddie Kingston speaks backstage.

He wants the cameras to watch. They tell him he has a minute, but Kingston won’t need a minute! Hager, you cost Kingston a chance to be champion! Kingston promised himself he’d be world champion and Hager cost him that! Garcia and 2point0 or whatever you guys are, and Chris Jericho, you all better be watching. Kingston is going to get them all! And don’t you count him down. He’ll do what he wants. He knows what it all means, this TV production stuff. But Hager! Kingston wants you on Rampage! Doesn’t matter if the show’s on after the NBA, before the NHL, whatever, he wants a match! Kingston wants Hager on Rampage for a FIGHT! Now we can tell the truck Kingston’s done!

AEW returns and #JustTrent is in the ring.

“Guys, I’m kind of bummed out. Today’s supposed to be National Best Friends Day, and my friends aren’t here. Something else is bothering me. A few weeks ago, myself and Rocky Romero, we had a match for the ROH Tag Team titles. And while we didn’t win that match, we didn’t lose, either. So the way I see it, Roppongi Vice deserves one more shot!” Fans like the sound of that! Trent knows FTR are fighting champs, so why don’t they come out and make things right? FTR obliges and fans fire up to see the ROH & AAA World Tag Team Champions. They join Trent in the ring, and Trent lets Cash have the mic.

Fans chant for “FTR! FTR!” and Cash says, “Thank you, thank you, thank you very much. And as much as this pains me to say, because we are fighting champs, you’re absolutely right, Trent. We didn’t lose against Roppongi Vice, but we damn sure didn’t win, and that doesn’t sit well with me or with Dax. Because we want to come out here, night after night, and show every single one of these people without any single doubt we are the absolute best tag team on this planet.” Fans cheer that, and Dax gets the mic. “And look, Trent. If it were up to us, we’d come out here to Kansas City and give these people a treat with you guys.”

But… Rocky is in Japan, so FTR won’t hold that against RPG Vice. The problem here, though, isn’t with FTR. It’s with those guys who attacked them all and cost RPG Vice the match. It should be all of “Will Ospreay’s Bitch Boys.” And Dax thinks that if it were up to him… Wait, wait, someone is coming out? NJPW’s United Empire is here! Will Ospreay, the Commonwealth Kingpin, is here in person! And though he’s the only one on stage, he’s not alone! From behind, it’s Aaron Henare and Aussie Open, Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher! Henare SPEARS Trent down, then he, Ospreay and Aussie Open mug FTR!

Fans lose their minds at this shocking attack from the Empire! They scrape Cash out, then Dax, and then they get Trent up! Aussie Open double pump handle for the CORIOLIS EFFECT! Ospreay then puts on his elbow pad and he aims at Trent! HIDDEN BLADE!! Fans are torn but, will Ospreay and his men make this UEW: The United Empire’s Wrestling?

Tony Schiavone interviews reDRagon, Adam Cole, and William Regal.

Kyle is facing Moxley tonight, but Regal wanted to address the Undisputed Elite first. “Kyle, Bobby, I’ve taught you both many, many things over the last few years. But this is Jon Moxley you’re facing. This is a man who even sends shivers down my spine. Are you sure you’re ready for this? After that grueling battle royal, are you sure? Think about your wife, think about your friends. Are they going to miss you? My best wishes. It’s going to really hurt me to be on commentary when I have to call you getting your head cracked open.”

Regal leaves, then Kyle repeats, “Think about my wife? Think about my friends? That’s who I think about every time I step into that ring, and I’ve got all the momentum in the world right now. I’ve got wins over Jungle Boy, wins over Rey Fenix, Darby Allin. I came to AEW to do two things, Tony: Fight the best this world has to offer, and fight for the AEW Championship. And tonight, I get to do both against Jon Moxley in the main event.” Cole and Fish like that fire. Cole is going to go call commentary for what’s next, but he knows Kyle has this.

And just as he said, Cole joins commentary. It seems “The King of Harts” has some interest in what an “old friend” is up to tonight.

Hangman Page VS David Finlay!

The Cowboy lost the title to CM Punk, but the irony is that Punk’s leg takes him out of action and Hangman is not in the running for the interim title. Will Hangman fight his way up so that no matter who is champion, he can take that title from them? Or will the fourth generation Man Who Loves to Fight take that fight to him?

The bell rings and the two get in each other’s face. Finlay shoves but they tie up. Finlay puts Hangman on ropes, Hangman turns it around, they both go around and around and end up in a corner. The ref counts, fans chant for “COWBOY SH*T!” as Hangman lets off, but Finlay shoves him! So Hangman shoves back! They tie up again, Hangman headlocks but Finlay powers out. Hangman CLOBBERS Finlay and fans fire up. Hangman speeds things up, Finlay drops then dropkicks! Cover, ONE! Cole says he can tell that Hangman’s emotional even though he won’t show it, while Hangman and Finlay tie up.

Finlay wrenches to an armlock but Hangman rolls and wrenches to wristlock. Finlay spins, wrenches, hammerlocks, and he wrangles Hangman to the mat. Finlay then steps over to cover, ONE! Hangman puts Finlay in and fans rally up again. Hangman runs corner to corner but Finlay dodges! Finlay runs in, blocks Hangman’s boot and KNEE JAMMERS! Hangman hobbles, Finlay CHOP BLOCKS! Finlay has evened things with Hangman while Dynamite goes picture in picture.

Finlay drags Hangman up from the ropes, EuroUppers, then runs in to uppercut at the corner! Finlay shoves Hangman down, goes up, and leaps for a FLYING UPPERCUT! Cover, ONE!! Finlay is frustrated but he hip drops Hangman’s leg at the ropes! And again! But then Hangman BOOTS Finlay out! Hangman gets up, builds speed, but slides into the apron skirt trap! A Finlay family classic! Finlay fires off on Hangman, and even HEADBUTTS him! Hangman flops down under the skirt and Finlay smirks as he drags Hangman back up and in. Finlay stomps Hangman in the corner, but Hangman hits back with body shots!

Hangman runs, but Finlay dropkicks the legs out! Finlay drags Hangman back and has the leg, to DDT the foot! Hangman clutches the leg but Finlay digs his knee into the back of it. Finlay clamps on an STF! Hangman endures, fans rally, and Hangman crawls his way forward! Finlay lets off to SMASH the knee into the mat! Hangman clutches the leg and Finlay drives knees into Hangman’s side! Finlay looms over Hangman, brings him up, and scoops to SLAM Hangman into the ropes! Finlay drags Hangman from the ropes, Dynamite returns to single picture and Finlay stomps away.

Finlay steps through but Hangman kicks at him with the legs. Fans fire up, Hangman fireman’s carries! Finlay slips off, duck sand dodges, but leaps into Hangman’s arms! FALL AWAY SLAM! Fans fire up and Hangman manages the kip up! Cole is furious about that, and Hangman runs corner to corner at Finlay for a big clothesline! Then a short arm LARIAT! Hangman CHOPS Finlay, and CHOPS, and then brings Finlay around to whip. Finlay reverses but Hangman holds ropes to stop himself. Finlay storms over but is put on the apron. Hangman TRIANGLE JUMP LARIATS! Fans fire up, Hangman aims and PLANCHAS! Direct hit and down goes Finlay!

Cole says he knew that’d hurt Hangman’s bad leg. Hangman drags Finlay up, puts him in the ring, and Finlay flounders to a corner. Fans rally up and Hangman runs corner to corner, into an elbow! Finlay runs in, into a POP-UP POWERBOMB! Cover, TWO! Cole knows they’ve been throwing heavy shots, something has to give. Fans rally, Hangman gets Finlay up to an Alabama Lift, but Finlay slips off. Hangman bucks the waistlock but runs into an IRISH CURSE BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO!! Finlay is frustrated that Hangman survives, but he aims from a corner. Finlay runs in corner to corner, to UPPERCUT!

Cole likes where this is going as Finlay pushes Hangman away. Finlay goes up, CROSSBODIES, but Hangman rolls through with it! Cole doesn’t like where this is going now, Hangman brings Finlay up, but Finlay cradles! TWO!! Hangman escapes, Finlay UPPERCUTS! And uppercuts again! Finlay whips Hangman to a corner, Hangman bounces off the buckles and comes back, but Finlay ducks the lariat to GERMAN SUPLEX! Hangman lands on his feet! But the bad leg jams! Hangman’s slow to spinning, Finlay ROCKS him first! Finlay runs, into a LARIAT!! Hangman goes to the apron and Cole is upset. Slingshot, BUCKSHOT!! Cover, Hangman wins!!

Winner: Hangman Page, by pinfall

Hangman gets back up on the horse with this win, and he gets a mic to speak. Fans chant and Hangman says, “There’s a lot I want to say about the AEW World Championship. But tonight is not the night. Tonight, I wasn’t in the little battle royal, and it doesn’t look like I’m gonna get a title shot any time soon.” Fans boo but Hangman says, “But since that’s the case, I remembered there’s not only one world championship in professional wrestling. So the last Sunday in June, Forbidden Door, I want the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship! And I, want, OKADA!”

Cole speaks up and says Hangman has to be kidding. “Are you really that delusional? First of all, Okada might not even be the champion. It could very well be my good friend, Jay White. But you didn’t think about that. Because you don’t think like a champion. Oh, also, everyone, newsflash: Page, you aren’t a champion anymore! You lost the AEW World Championship, and I won the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Meaning I’ve been on a frickin’ roll ain’t nobody gonna stop. If anybody should get a shot at the IWGP Championship, it should be ME! Because I am the new franchise player here in AEW! Your time has come and gone, my friend.

And whether Hangman or anyone else wants to admit it, AEW is all about Adam Cole, Baybay. So Cole suggests that Hangman just stay out of the way. That ain’t no cowboy sh*t, that’s a promise! BOOM. Cole has staked his claim and puts Page in his place, but will management have other ideas?

Tony Schiavone is in the ring.

Kansas City is All Elite, but so is his guest. It’s WARDLOW! Fans chant for “WARD~LOW!” as he makes his way out, and his theme song is restored! Wardlow goes to the ring and Schiavone brings up that Wardlow opted not to be in tonight’s battle royal, and now we’ll hear why. Wardlow is handed the mic and he hears the fans chanting “WARD~LOW!” for him. “Oh, Kansas City… Welcome to Wardlow’s World! And you’re right, Tony, I asked not to take part in the Battle Royal for the heavyweight championship. The reason being, CM Punk is our champion. So if I’m not making him tap or pinning his shoulders to the mat, I don’t want it yet.

“So heal up real quick, champ, because you can bet your ass I’ll be waiting for you when you get back.” Fans like the sound of that. Wardlow continues to say there is a title he does want. A title that few men have carried that brought an incredible amount of respect to it. “Unfortunately, since then, there’s a few men that have completely diminished it. That’s a title that I had won three months ago. A title that I have thought about every day since that night. I want the TNT TITLE!” Fans like the sound of that, too! “It’s time for a change around here, and-”

But before Wardlow can continue, Scorpio Sky walks out on stage, holding up the TNT Championship. Fans boo Scorpio but he’s at least heading to the ring to confront Wardlow. But then Dan Lambert and Ethan Page scramble out to stop him! They don’t want Scorpio to fight while he’s less than 100%, and Lambert even calls Wardlow a coward for calling out a man who is at less than 100%. Ethan tells Wardlow to wait, but Wardlow says if Scorpio’s got a bum knee, Wardlow is All Elite now. He’s got all the time in the world. He’ll wait until Scorpio feels 110%! Scorpio, Ethan and Lambert leave, but wait, now Mark Sterling is on the tron.

Sterling tells Wardlow he shouldn’t be focused on anything right now, because last week, he ripped up legal documents life on TV! “You can’t do that, you dummy!” But Sterling is starting to realize, Wardlow might not understand the big words coming out of Sterling’s mouth, and these fine men in the security staff aren’t going to get the money they deserve. So, because Sterling is a nice guy, he’ll give Wardlow two options: face Sterling in the court of law over the class action lawsuit on behalf of the American Arena Security Professionals; or he wrestles 20 of them at once, live on TV, in an elimination match! Either way, Wardlow pays! So will Wardlow choose to do this the easy way, or will he take Sterling to court?

The Young Bucks are on the Cutler Cam.

How they lookin’, Brandon? Super cute. Alright, good. Matt Jackson says, “What a week it was last week, right, brother?” Nick says, “Unbelievable!” First, in LA on Wednesday, the Bucks beat the current reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions, clean as a whistle! And then on Friday in their hometown of Ontario, California, the Bucks beat their biggest rivals in the Lucha Brothers. Matt wants to know if Nick agrees with him, “The Young Bucks are back, baby! And y’know what? We want our Tag Team titles back.” Nick agrees with all that, but then there’s a knock on the door. And in walk in the Hardy Boyz!

What’re they doing in the Bucks’ office? What do they want? Nice room, Bucks of Youth. But uh, they were walking by, saw the door was cracked, heard them talking, and Matt Hardy just expected the Bucks to be burying the Hardys like always. But they weren’t! They were talking about winning matches, which they have, and that they deserve a tag title match. Well, if memory serves, the Hardys beat the Bucks at Double or Nothing! So if anyone deserves a shot, it’s the Hardys! Jeff says amen, but then in walk Christian Cage & Jurassic Express! They should really keep that door locked, y’know. Oh, okay, everyone just make themselves at home!

Captain Charisma says he couldn’t help but overhear the chatter, too. Bucks want a title match, Hardys want a title match, but he doesn’t think either of them deserve it yet. They gotta earn it the same way “we” did. Now yes, the Bucks pinned Jungle Boy in his hometown of Los Angeles in front of his family. But the titles weren’t on the line. When they are on the line, things will be different, that is where “we” get the win back. But y’know what? Christian throws out a challenge to both teams, the Hardys and Bucks.

And what Christian is thinking is, a match that put the Hardys and Christian on the map. A match that made them household names. A match that even made the Bucks famous. Then just say it! “Next week, right here on Dynamite, for the AEW World Tag Team titles… The Hardy Boyz VS The Young Bucks VS Jurassic Express… IN A LADDER MATCH!” The Bucks and Hardys are fired up but JB is questioning Christian’s logic. Now get out of their office! Fine, see you next week, Bucks. Cutler, cut the camera, you dumbass. But will Christian be looking like the idiot for putting his boys in a position to lose?

Marina clinches Rosa but Rosa fights back with a clinch of her own. The knees and kicks fly, Marina BOOTS Rosa into a corner! Marina storms up on Rosa, brings her up, and THROWS Rosa down! Marina clamps onto Rosa with a neck wrench while talking some trash. Marina makes Rosa look at the camera but Rosa fights her way up. Marina KICKS Rosa in the back! Marina snarls but fans rally as Rosa gets to ropes. Marina ties Rosa up in the ropes, bends her back, and lets off at 4 to CLUB Rosa down! Marina looms over Rosa, digs her knee in to the cover, ONE! Marina is after the arms, and she ties Rosa up in a straitjacket stretch!

Rosa endures as Marina leans on the hold. Rosa fights up, throws kicks, but Marina throws Rosa down again! Marina looms over Rosa, kicks at her, toys with her, and then KICKS her! Marina KICKS at Rosa’s legs, but Rosa KICKS Marina’s legs back. Marina KICKS, Rosa KICKS, but then Marina shoots in to trip Rosa! BOSTON CRAB! Rosa fights, Marina shifts her grip to get the Indian Deathlock back, then floats to a facelock. Rosa endures, fight sup, and fans rally, only for Marina to CLUB her and CLUB her again. Marina KICKS Rosa low, and then KICKS her high! Marina bumps Rosa off buckles, then scowls as she throws body shots.

Dynamite returns to single picture as Rosa counter-kicks one of Marina’s low kicks. Rosa fires up and BOOTS Marina down! Fans fire up and Rosa runs corner to corner to forearm smash! Rosa goes side to side to A-LIST LARIAT! Marina sits, Rosa goes up, SWINGING KNEES! Rosa has Marina on ropes and fires KC up for the DROPKICK! Then another DROPKICK against ropes! NORTHERN LIGHTS! Bridging cover, TWO! Fans rally, Rosa gets Marina up and fireman’s carries, but Marina throws elbows. Marina KICKS the leg, then hauls Rosa up to pump handle. Marina CLUBS Rosa, hooks her up, TWISTING EXPLODER! Cover, TWO!!

Marina grows frustrated, maybe the Problem is having a problem with the champ! Marina clamps onto Rosa’s face again, drags her up, but Rosa throws body shots. Rosa firemen’s carries, DEATH VALLEY DRIVER! Cover, TWO!! Rosa roars and brings Marina up, to KICK her! And KICK! Rosa powers up but Marina blocks the kick! Palm strike and a lift, but Rosa sunset flips, TWO!! Rosa gets up but Marina gets around to waistlock. Rosa switches, Marina switches back, but Rosa victory rolls, and wins!!

Winner: Thunder Rosa, by pinfall (still AEW Women’s World Champion)

The solution came in the blink of an eye, and Rosa retains the title! But Marina is pissed and she KICKS Rosa down! Marina hauls Rosa up in chicken wings to HEADBUTT her in the back, then SAYANAGI! Fans boo as Marina ties Rosa up in the INGREDIENT! The leg lock armlock combo is putting Rosa out, but TONI STORM rushes in! Storm dropkicks Marina and fires off fists! Marina shoves Storm away, but Storm gets around to GERMAN SUPLEX! Rosa gets Marina up, for the FIRE THUNDER DRIVER! Fans fire up, but now Storm picks up the title. Storm hands it back to Rosa, but will she want her shot next? What will happen with Storm and Thunder clash?

Backstage interview with The Baddies.

Schiavone is here with Jade Cargill, Red Velvet, Kiera Hogan & Stokely Hathaway to bring up the big match on this Friday’s Rampage. She says it seems more like no one can mind their damn business. Hathaway says, “And you heard the queen, Tony. Last week on Dynamite, we had an issue with Athena. We confronted Athena, and then all of a sudden, Anna Jay and um, what’s the name of that big head girl from outer space?” Kris Statlander. More like, “Statland yourself back on that ugly planet you came from.”

That’s it! “Kristen Highlander,” you’re going 1v1 with Red Velvet this Friday, and once Velvet is done with you, you’ll be beggin’ like Keith Swettin. Who can beat Velvet? NOBOOODY! And Tony? Cut the sh*t. Who wins the huge grudge match between these former friends?

Interim AEW World Championship Eliminator: Jon Moxley VS Kyle O’Reilly!

AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door is but 18 days away! The Maniac wants to get back to the top of AEW, but #KillerKyle wants his first taste! Who proves they want it more in this guaranteed knockdown, drag-out fight of a main event?

The bell rings and fans fire up. Kyle and Moxley circle, feel things out, and knuckle lock. Kyle tests the waters with a kick but Moxley stays up. They go again, Kyle tries another kick but Moxley still stays up. They go again, Kyle shoots in but Moxley holds off the takedown to float to a mount. Kyle rolls and uses his legs to get a TRIANGLE! Moxley throws hands, Kyle shifts and they end up in ropes. Kyle gets away and fans rally up. Moxley and Kyle reset, tie up collar ‘n’ elbow, and Regal loves the energy. Moxley waistlocks, Kyle wrenches free and gets a wristlock, but Moxley rolls and wrenches through to cording hold and hip toss! Cover, ONE!

Kyle gets Moxley’s foot while Regal says he loves seeing the “Cornish Height” from Moxley. Moxley hops his way to ropes, the ref counts and Kyle KICKS Moxley’s leg as he lets off. The ref reprimands, but Moxley and Kyle reset. Moxley and Kyle circle, feel out another grapple, but then Moxley SLAPS Kyle! Kyle shrugs that off, they go again, and each man tests the waters with attempt at slaps and kicks. They then tie up collar ‘n’ elbow, Moxley wrenches and hammerlocks and he wrangles Kyle down. Kyle reaches back, Moxley cranks the arm and then gets the other. Moxley bends the fingers! Then SNAPS them!

Kyle clutches his hand while the ref reprimands, but Moxley wrenches Kyle’s arm to wrangle him down again. Moxley shits for a Short Arm Scissor, almost a half nelson. Kyle pushes up and has a cover, ONE, into an ARMBAR! Moxley clasps hands, Regal knows you can’t count Kyle out with his high technical IQ, but Moxley gets around to stack Kyle. Kyle lets him go but now Moxley wants Kyle’s legs. Moxley shoots around to grab the wrists, for some DANIELSON STOMPS! Moxley wants to kick Kyle’s head in but Kyle gets away and out of the ring! Fans fire up, Kyle gets back in but he’s wary of charging Moxley.

Moxley smirks and puts his hands back, daring Kyle to do something. Kyle throws fast strikes for free! Moxley ROCKS Kyle but Kyle ROCKS him back. They go forearm for forearm, fans firing up as they pick up speed! Moxley gives Kyle boxing elbows and a HEADBUTT! Kyle wobbles, Moxley eggs him on, so Kyle KIKCS and KICKS and KICKS! Moxley goes to a corner, Kyle KICKS him more and more! Kyle whips, Moxley reverses and runs in to clothesline! And then another clothesline! And another! Moxley fires up and the fans are with him as he goes corner to corner, only for Kyle to dropkick the legs out!

Kyle goes to an apron, Moxley ROCKS him first! Moxley steps through, into a DRAPING DRAGON SCREW! Just like Kyle did to Yuta! Kyle ties Moxley’s leg up in the ropes, then hurries up top! GUILLOTINE KNEE DROP!! The leg gets bent and fans fire up as Dynamite goes picture in picture!

Moxley gets free of the ropes and hobbles away, but Kyle pursues. Kyle BOOTS Moxley into the chair in the corner! Kyle then BOOTS Moxley while he’s in the chair! And KICKS him! Moxley grabs the foot! Moxley brings Kyle around, and CHOPS him down! Moxley waits, Kyle gets up, and Moxley CHOPS him into the chair! Moxley climbs up to rain down fists on Kyle, and the fans count along! Moxley finds himself stuck but Kyle wants to use that to his advantage!

Kyle is in the ring, the ring count starts, and Moxley has to get himself unstuck. Moxley is free but the count is climbing. Moxley gets in at 8 of 10 but Kyle BOOTS him down! Kyle rains down forearms and palm strikes in a ground ‘n’ pound! Kyle lets off to soak up the cheers and jeers from KC. Moxley crawls to ropes, but Kyle goes out to the apron and SLAMS the bad leg on the edge! And then again! Kyle DECKS Moxley, SLAMS the bad leg again, repeat! Kyle climbs the corner to the top but Moxley stands up. Moxley staggers, but he still hits ropes to trip Kyle up! Moxley then goes up after Kyle and CLUBS away on him!

Fans rally as Moxley CLAWS Kyle’s back! The ref reprimands, Moxley stops, and Dynamite returns to single picture. Moxley brings Kyle up, for a SUPER HALF HATCH SUPLEX! Both men crash down and Moxley clutches his bad arm. The ref starts a standing count and fans count along. Moxley and Kyle stir at 3 of 10, but stand at 5! Kyle fires a forearm, Moxley gives it back! Kyle hits again so Moxley KICK! Kyle KICKS, Moxley KICKS, repeat! Kyle forearms, fires off more strikes, but Moxley gives HEADBUTT after HEABUTT! Moxley runs to BOOT, but Kyle BOOTS back! Moxley and Kyle DOUBLE BOOT and they both fall!

Fans fire up again as the standing count restarts. But Kyle is up and he has the arm to ELBOW- NO! SLEEPER! But Kyle pries free, so Moxley shifts hands, CHICKEN WING CROSSFACE! Kyle endures, reaches out, ROPEBREAK with his teeth! Moxley lets off, and kicks the ropes to jam Kyle’s jaw! LARIAT!! Cover, TWO!! Kyle survives but Moxley won’t let off! HAMMER ‘N’ ANVIL ELBOWS! Winner: Jon Moxley, by pinfall (advances to Forbidden Door)

The Maniac conquers #KillerKyle! And now, Moxley is walking up to that Forbidden Door! NJPW determines their contender this Sunday at Dominion in Osaka-Jo Hall, Hiroshi Tanahashi VS Hirooki Goto! Who will meet Moxley in Chicago for that Interim AEW World Championship?

My Thoughts:

A great AEW here that sets up a lot for Forbidden Door, and even next week for Road Rager. Though, I must’ve misread something when they mentioned it last time, because I thought this was for July. But Road Rager 2022 looks great, with a great promo segment setting up the AEW World Tag Team Championship match. Jurassic Express VS Bucks VS Hardys in a Ladder Match is going to be amazing stuff, and this could be the way Jurassic Express lose without it really hurting them. What it should also set up is JB confronting Christian Cage on acting like he’s the leader and putting them into the ladder match, and we could end up with JB VS Christian 1v1 in time for the Blood & Guts special.

We also got a good promo from Wardlow to set up his story. He gives us a reason why he’s waiting on the world title, but at least he is going after the TNT Championship next, as he should. He is definitely taking on those 20 “security guards” in what will be history’s biggest and most amazing squash match. After getting through all 20 of Sterling’s guys, Wardlow will get at Scorpio Sky, and that could go either way given. Wardlow is super over, fans would love seeing him get that title. But at the same time, Scorpio has Ethan and Lambert, they could cheat Wardlow like they have everyone else for some big heat. I’m hoping AEW goes with Wardlow winning, though.

Hangman VS Finlay was a great match, and Cole was a lot of fun on commentary. Of course Hangman wins, and I like that he called out Okada for Forbidden Door. Okada has said Forbidden Door won’t mean as much without him,  so good to see someone wants after him. But I also liked that Cole called Hangman out for thinking he just gets a title match. Pretty sure we’ll get Adam VS Adam III, winner faces whoever is IWGP World Heavyweight Champion after Dominion. In that regard, pretty sure Hangman wins, because if White ends up winning, Cole isn’t facing him. Either way, the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship is going to have an awesome match.

Great AEW Women’s World Championship match, and it was all the greater because it was gritty and sloppy at times. It was like a real fight because both women have MMA training, so they made the best out of this one. Rosa of course retains, but Marina attacking her after was a bit of a surprise. Storm making the save was also a surprise, but it does set up Rosa VS Storm, and that is going to be really good stuff. I would think Rosa wins again, they might be wanting to build her up for when Britt makes her way back around, or for Jade Cargill wanting both titles. The Baddies had a good promo, Velvet VS Statlander will be good, but that Six Woman Tag has to still be coming.

We got a great bit with Trent, FTR and the United Empire. Rampage will have a big match of Trent & FTR VS Ospreay & Aussie Open, and it will surely set up a big tag title match at Forbidden Door, RPG Vice getting another shot at the ROH tag titles while perhaps also bringing in the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships, as Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb will be getting a rematch for those against Bullet Club’s Chase Owens & Bad Luck Fale. FTR could end up becoming the tag team equivalent of Ultimo Dragon when he had all the different Junior Heavyweight titles draped on him, and I would love to see it.

AEW bringing in a new title is a great surprise, but was still hoping for Trios titles. The All-Atlantic title looks beautiful, but a little oddly named when Asia and Australia don’t touch the Atlantic… But what a great tournament with a lot of great match-ups, and I can’t wait to see who NJPW throws in. PAC VS Buddy tonight was a great opener to that series, but you can bet Malakai will beat Penta so that there aren’t two Death Triangle members in the Fatal 4 Way. Ethan VS Miro will surely go Miro’s way, and I feel like Miro will be a front runner for that belt. Pac and Malakai will cancel out, the NJPW entrant will just be there for star power, Miro will go on a tear like he did with the TNT title.

Great battle royal to open the night, I still continue to like how AEW’s wrestlers realize they can go under the top rope to do whatever they want outside. I am a little disappointed Swerve turned on Keith and seemed to be tilting towards Heel right after Keith & Swerve said they were going to be a two man power trip. A very dumb, WWE style move there. Kingston has a great promo after where he gets meta about TV direction, and he of course eggs on JAS and we’ll be getting more heat going towards Blood & Guts. And fans were super behind Yuta, but avoiding Blackpool Combat Club VS Blackpool Combat Club was a fair choice.

We get an awesome main event, but it makes a lot of sense for Moxley to win. Kyle is great but he and Fish are still more about the tag division and the Undisputed Elite story. Moxley also had a great promo to make a point that he has been the bridge between AEW and NJPW, and no offense to Goto, but Tanahashi is definitely winning at Dominion. It was meant to be Tanahashi VS Punk, Moxley has been wanting more matches with Tanahashi, we’re definitely getting Tanahashi VS Moxley, and I would think Moxley wins to be interim champion to take on whoever and then await Punk’s return. This kind of predictability borders on boring, because there were many possibilities, but Moxley could still lose the interim title before Punk returns for a shocking match-up, like Punk VS Bryan.

My Score: 8.8/10

Mitchell’s AEW Rampage Results & Report! (8/12/22)

Rampage by the Lake!

AEW Quake

It’s a packed Friday night for Minneapolis!

From the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships to a preview of the AEW World Trios Championship tournament, Rampage is jampacked!

  • AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships: Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo VS Dante Martin & Skye Blue; Sammy & Tay win and retain the titles.
  • Parker Boudreaux w/ The Trustbusters VS Sonny Kiss; Boudreaux wins.
  • Beardhausen VS Gunn Club; Gunn Club wins.
  • Orange Cassidy w/ Best Friends VS Ari Daivari w/ The Trustbusters; Cassidy wins.

Bryan Danielson is here!

The American Dragon is back and Minneapolis is fired up to see him! Bryan goes to the ring and Tony Schiavone is there waiting for him to say we can all tell Bryan is here with purpose. So first, there is speculation that after the loss to Daniel Garcia, Bryan is not 100%. Second, Garcia has said he is the “Dragonslayer,” and he will not only defeat Bryan but end his career. Bryan takes the mic to say, “To be honest, I’ve been wrestling almost 23 years, I don’t know if I will ever be 100%. But I don’t need to be 100%, I need to live 100%! And there is nothing that makes me feel more alive than being in this ring!”

Fans cheer that and Bryan continues to say, “I will never willfully stop wrestling. Daniel Garcia said if I get in the ring with him, he’ll slay the dragon, end my career. Do you know what? Someone is gonna have to damn end my career because I am not going to end this ring on my own. But my career will not end this Wednesday!” But then Garcia is on stage and telling Bryan to “hold up, hold up, hold up. Bryan, it’s no secret that Bryan Danielson is my hero! You’re my hero, Bryan! But it sounds like to me that my hero is prepared to lose. It sounds like to me that my hero is coming up with excuses.” Fans boo that as Garcia gets in the ring.

Garcia says that he isn’t sure how many times he can put up with this! Bryan retires, then comes back, then retires again, then comes back again. Bryan can’t keep putting Garcia through this, it hurts Garcia. Garcia says when Bryan hurts Garcia, Garcia wants to hurt Bryan back. And when you step in the ring with Garcia again, Garcia will hurt him so bad, that he ends Bryan’s career for good! And then he won’t just be the Dragonslayer, he’ll be the Greatest Technical Sports Entertainer on the Planet.

Fans boo and Bryan responds with, “I’m okay with people saying they’re gonna end my career. Ever since I came to AEW, I’ve been talking about violence. I love violence, and violence begets violence. But do you know what really pisses me off? It’s that sports entertainment BS!” Fans cheer for that! Bryan knows what Chris Jericho’s been shoving down Garcia’s throat, and it IS that sports entertainment crap! Do you all know that this kid, Daniel Garcia, was one of the first names Bryan mentioned when talking about starting the Blackpool Combat Club? And why? Because Bryan saw Garcia at 21 years old go 60 MINUTES in front of 250 people, showing them the best wrestling Bryan’s seen in a young talent in YEARS!

So let Bryan ask Garcia, and he wants Garcia to think about it all the way to Wednesday, when Bryan’s stomping Garcia’s face in! “Do you wanna be the Best Technical Sports Entertainer on the Planet? Or, or… Look at me when I talk to you!” Bryan even grabs Garcia’s face to keep him looking forward! “If I was your hero, do you want to be the Best Technical Wrestler in the world? And I’ll leave that up to you.” Bryan drops the mic and leaves Garcia to mull that over. What path will Garcia choose while his career is still young?

AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships: Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo VS Dante Martin & Skye Blue!

Another young protégé of Chris Jericho, and his blushing new bride, are back in action! And for the first time in AEW, they defend the belts that signify their bond! But will the Spanish God and his Brazilian Goddess celebrate a title win on top of their marriage? Or will Angel Dorado & Cielo Azul prove that for once, love doesn’t conquer all?

The introductions are made, the matching red ‘n’ blue belts are raised, and we see if the hometown hero of Minneapolis and the girl next door can win the big one!

The teams sort out, and Skye insists that it’s ladies first. Tay and Sammy kiss for luck, but Dante tells Sammy to leave that stuff backstage. Sammy shoves Dante down! So Skye fires off on Tay! And Dante TACKLES Sammy! The fans fire up as the scraps continue, and the ladies spill out of the ring! Dante TACKLES Sammy again, so it seems the gentlemen are starting instead! Tay RAMS Skye into the railing, Sammy shoves Dante again but Dante trips Sammy up! Dante rains down more forearms while fans fire up for the 612! Sammy gets up and KNEES Dante, then soaks up the heat. Sammy CHOPS Dante against ropes, then whips him to ropes.

Dante reverses, knees and CHOPS Sammy in return, then ROCKS and CHOPS him again. Dante whips Sammy to ropes, Tay catches Sammy to stop him then tags in. Skye is to come in automatically, but she tags to climb up and CROSSBODY! Skye then gets around but Tay throws her off with the judo hip toss. Skye shoves Tay so Tay SLAPS Skye! Skye smirks and SLAPS back! And then fires off fast hands! Fans fire up but Tay trips Skye! Tay steps through, rolls and uses the leg lock to THROW Skye! Tay steps over into a modified STF, and she chinbars Skye into an almost Bow ‘n’ Arrow style stretch! Skye endures, scoots but Tay makes it a cover, ONE!

Skye has a cover, ONE! Skye ROCKS Tay, whips her to ropes, and fans rally. Tay holds ropes but Skye SHINING WIZARDS! And SHINING WIZARDS again! Tay shoves Skye, Skye dodges and mule kicks a leg! Tay blocks the superkick but now the DRAGON WHIP! Fans fire up and Skye runs, but Sammy swipes at her! The ref reprimands, but Tay BOOTS Skye down! Fans boo SamTay while Rampage goes picture in picture.

Tay stomps Skye, covers her, TWO! Tay is frustrated and she talks trash on Dante. Tay stalks Skye to ropes to CHOKE her! The ref counts, Tay lets off at 4, and then she drags Skye up to whip her into a DROP SAYANAGI! And then another! And another, but Skye blocks to a cradle! TWO, and Tay ROCKS Skye! Tay kicks Skye around, drags her up, and she kisses Sammy. That’s not a tag so Tay CLUBS away on Skye. Tay cravats to throw knee after knee into Skye, and then whips her into a neutral corner. Tay runs in and BOOTS Skye! Tay runs in again but Skye dodges the boot to roll Tay up, with a bridge, TWO!!

Rampage returns to single picture and Tay grabs a leg, but Skye ENZIGURIS Tay down! Fans fire up as Skye crawls, hot tag to Dante! That brings Sammy in, but Dante fakes him out into a TACKLE! Dante rains down fists, Sammy shoves him away but Dante rallies with forearm smashes! Dante then ducks a haymaker to DROPKICK Sammy out! Minneapolis fires up and Dante takes aim. Tay runs in but Dante goes up and over her! Dante DIVES and takes out Sammy! Fans fire up as Dante puts Sammy in fast. Dante slides in but Tay anchors a foot! The ref reprimands, Dante drags Tay into the ring with that foot, and Sammy grabs Dante!

There was a lot of fire in the hearts of Dante & Skye, but not enough to burn down Sammy & Tay. Will Mr. & Mrs. Champion continue to reign on everyone’s parade?

The Lucha Brothers speak.

Rey Fenix says, “After a long road, the Lucha Brothers are coming back for gold.” Penta, with Alex Abrahantes translating, tells Andrade and the world, “This hasn’t finished. But next week, the All-Atlantic Champion returns, and Death Triangle will be reunited and will fight for the Trios Championships.” The Bastard, Pac, is returning from his European tour, will he, Penta & Fenix be ready for The United Empire’s Aussie Open and Will Ospreay in the opening round?

Parker Boudreaux w/ The Trustbusters VS Sonny Kiss!

Ari Daivari recruited this brutal blue chipper to the group, knowing this would be a very wise investment. Will Parker pay off right away? Or will the Concrete Rose prove not to judge a book by its cover?

The bell rings and Parker CLOBBERS Kiss! Kiss flounders, Parker drags him up with a facelock and CLUBS away on the corner! Parker lets off as the ref counts and runs in, but Kiss dodges the splash! Kiss ROCKS Parker, then runs to handspring and SLAP! And uppercut! But Parker grabs Kiss by the neck, for a CHOKE SLAM! Parker snarls and drags Kiss up to a back suplex SLAM!! Cover, Parker wins!

Winner: Parker Boudreaux, by pinfall

Slim J is pumped for Parker but Parker just looks hungry for more. Will the Trustbusters eat well when the Trios Championship begins?

La Faccion Ingobernable meets with the former Andrade Family Office.

Andrade formally introduces Rush to Butcher, Blade and Private Party. Rush doesn’t like Private Party. But Andrade says it’s fine! The LFI will win those Trios Championships, unlike Private Party against Keith Lee. Jose even adds that was embarrassing. Isiah Kassidy tells Jose to shut up, and he tells El Idolo that people like him have been sleeping on Private Party for a very long time. But that’s fine, because it all changes. Private Party will wake Andrade up. Well good, maybe Private Party can get this group those world tag titles. Upper management leaves, will Kassidy & Quen redeem themselves in the eyes of the ungovernables?

Beardhausen VS Gunn Club!

Erick Redbeard returns to AEW alongside the Very Nice, Very Evil Danhausen to teach these Ass Boys something! Not quite sure what, but will Danhausen & Erick put a curse on the Gunn Club? Or can Austin & Colten redeem themselves after losing in the Dumpster Match?

The teams sort out and Erick starts against Colten. Fans taunt the “ASS~ BOYS! ASS~ BOYS!” Colten shrugs that off to tie up with Erick, and Erick shoves Colten down! Fans fire up but Austin tags in. Danhausen goes up, reels Colten in, and puts him in the ROPE BUTTERFLY! Austin protests but that only means Colten suffers longer! The ref counts, Danhausen lets go at 4, and then he slingshots up to the top! But while the ref is checking on Colten, Austin sucker punches Danhausen! Colten then DROPKICKS Danhausen down! Colten soaks up the heat, drags Danhausen up and brings him around to bump off buckles. Colten stomps Danhausen, the ref counts, and he lets off at 4.

Fans boo and Austin turns things around into a FAMOUSER! Cover, Gunn Club wins!!

Winners: Gunn Club, by pinfall

Big assist from Daddy Ass, and yet Billy gets the mic to say, “Oh my God, are you kidding me? Really, that’s what you’re giving us? No wonder they call you Ass Boys, and no wonder I miss The Acclaimed.” Ouch… Billy means that the guys need to toughen up a bit. A lot of bit! They sure ain’t doing what he’s taught them, that’s a fact! But that’s okay, on Dynamite, they’ve got another match to prove themselves with. But who is it? Billy doesn’t say, will Austin & Colten just have to tough it out? Wait, Stokely Hathaway is in the crowd, offering his business card again. Austin & Colten don’t accept, and they follow after Billy.

Backstage interview with Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland.

Lexi Nair is with the AEW World Tag Team Champions, Swerve in Our Glory. Earlier, Andrade made it clear that he wants Private Party to go after the titles. Now, Keith Lee has history with them, but what makes the tag title match different? Keith chuckles and says, “Listen. I got here, Mr. Kassidy was a challenger, and I dismantled him. His friend, Quen, jumps in, I dismantle him. I don’t know if this makes sense, but if you didn’t have a chance against me, what makes you think you have a chance against us? Please, do the math.”

Swerve admits math wasn’t his best subject, when it came to counting money! But um, he added up Private Party’s losses, subtracted their wins, and carried the one, and the still don’t add up to a top five ranking team! So they will allow Private Party to be grace the champs with their presence, since no ranked team wants to, and they can #SwerveInOurGlory. Whose house? “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Will Quen & Kassidy take advantage of this gracious opportunity? Or will they be of further disappointment to El Idolo.

HOOK is here!

Minneapolis fires up for the Cold-Hearted, Handsome Devil of a NEW FTW Champion! Hook goes to the ring, Schiavone is there, and Schiavone says there is no question that one of the most incredible debuts in AEW culminated with Hook becoming FTW Champion. As we understand it, this title is always in open challenge. Is that right, Hook? “Yup.” Okay. We’ve followed Hook’s career, short as it is still, and it has been tremendous. But wait! Out walks Zack Clayton! He introduces himself as “The Reality,” and he knows some recognize him from his reality TV superstardom in the great state of New Jersey!

Clayton tells Hook that he will take that FTW Championship from him, “you little wannabe tough guy New Yorker!” And Clayton will bring it to God’s Country, New Jersey, where it belongs! Hook nods and wave Clayton to bring it, but Clayton says no, he just got new boots made, they’re not ready it. And plus, being a Jersey guy, he does things on his terms. So how about we do this on next week’s Rampage? Hook holds up the belt to say sure thing! The match is made, will The Reality be the one getting a reality check against the Son of Taz?

Mark Henry speaks with tonight’s main eventers!

The World’s Strongest Man says Ari Daivari offered Orange Cassidy a spot in the Trustbusters, but what is it that Daivari sees in him? “Mark, Orange Cassidy is easily, hands down, one of the most talented professional wresters on the AEW roster. And now that my trust has officially kicked in, I am investing my hard earned money into the best talent around.” Look what he’s already down for Slim J and Parker Boudreaux! And Orange doesn’t wanna join that? He still wants to hang out with “those stupid goofs?” Hey, you don’t wanna join in, fine! They’ll do the next best thing, and Daivari will beat Orange’s ass in this old dump of a hometown, Minneapolis!

Wow. Well, uh, looks like there’s been enough talk. Orange, no, that’s Mark’s line. Oh. Well, it is true, though. It’s time for the main event! Will Cassidy give Quake by the Lake a Freshly Squeezed main event? Or will Daivari Dinero make that money?

Orange Cassidy w/ Best Friends VS Ari Daivari w/ The Trustbusters!

The bell rings and fans rally for “Freshly Squeezed!” as he gives Best Friends his jacket and tie-dye shirt. Cassidy lifts up his hands but Daivari has him wait before putting them in his pockets. Daivari gets a mic and says, “I’m gonna give you one last chance to join the Trustbusters. All you have to do is lay down and let me pin you, then the four of us can get out of this sh*tty town.” Fans boo and Cassidy… nods?! Cassidy lies down and Daivari says he knew Cassidy was smarter than that. Cassidy is ready, Daivari takes a moment to decide what angle he’s coming in from, but then Cassidy rolls away!

Fans laugh and Cassidy tells Daivari to hurry up. Daivari goes to cover again but Cassidy rolls away again! Daivari is annoyed, he storms up but Cassidy rolls out of the ring. And then puts his hands up, to… Nope, Cassidy has to get in the ring as Daivari rushes out! Cassidy then rolls all the way to the far side and gets a GROUP HUG from Best Friends! Fans fire up as Cassidy kips up, and then he blocks Daivari’s kick! It was headed a little low and Daivari apologizes, but Cassidy shoves Daivari to a corner. Daivari goes out to fetch Cassidy, and RAMS him into the apron! Daivari RAMS Cassidy into railing and soaks up the heat from the front row.

Daivari SLAPS the arms off the ropes and puts the SLEEPER on again! Fans rally as Cassidy endures again, but the ref checks. The arm drops once! And then it drops twice!

But Cassidy gets his second wind, puts both hands up, and then puts them in his pockets! Cassidy RAMS Daivari into buckles, gets free and dodges a lariat, but DOUBLE LARIATS collide on the return! Fans rally up again as both men stir. A standing count starts and climbs, the Trustbusters and Best Friends coach their guys up. Cassidy gets to a corner and drags himself up while Daivari stands. Parker SPLASHES Chuck in one corner, then SPLASHES Trent in the other, and roars! Fans boo but Orange is back up! And Sonny Kiss rushes out there! Kiss did just lose to Parker, so- Kiss LOW BLOWS Cassidy!?!? And then Parker gives Orange the SLAM!! Did Kiss just sell out to the Trustbusters!? Did that happen between now and that match earlier? Or was it all part of the plan?

My Thoughts:

A great episode to close out the first Quake by the Lake event, with some surprising developments here. While Parker Boudreaux didn’t really change his moveset up from when he was Harland in NXT, he of course wins here tonight in a squash. Then we got an awesome main event out of Cassidy VS Daivari, even with Best Friends and the Trustbusters ringside. I was a touch surprised Cassidy won, but then that brawl at the end with Kiss swerving and turning Heel was a great way for Trustbusters to stand tall here. The go-home math is now a wash, but I would think Best Friends win to advance in the trios tournament.

Speaking of that tournament, great promo from the LFI and extended faction, as well as from Keith & Swerve. A title match between Keith & Swerve VS Private Party is going to be awesome, but I would think the champions retain the titles. Private Party going after LFI would be great to turn Private Party Face. Good promo from Lucha Bros to hype up their Trios Championship tournament match, and I would think Death Triangle beats The United Empire, pinning one of Aussie Open. And their promo implies that no matter who the third man is for the Young Bucks, LFI advances. AKA it’ll be Brandon Cutler because the Bucks have no one else, and he takes the pin.

Really fun match from Gunn Club and Beardhausen, but rather surprising that Gunn Club won. Billy is really ripping into his own sons, I have a feeling he just pushes them into joining Stokely’s stable. Stokely’s got Ethan Page, he’s got Lee Moriarty, he needs a tag team before can start taking over AEW properly, and it could be Gunn Club. Great promo segment from Hook and Zack Clayton, and this is a great opportunity for Clayton to move up in the world. The Mixed Tag Championship match was a great opening match, and while Dante & Skye looked great, I figured SamTay would win to retain.

And we got a great promo from Bryan and Garcia to open the whole show, and I am so happy Bryan is taking this story the way I was hoping. Daniel Garcia is definitely more a BCC guy than a JAS guy, so I hope the best two outta three falls match starts getting Garcia to consider his position in the feud. There’s a lot that Garcia can bring into the BCC, from both a moment of dysfunction since he battled Yuta for the ROH Pure Championship and was insufferable to the other BCC members, to more fire in the faction because they can get even more titles now. I can’t wait to see where this goes next.

My Score: 8.7/10

Brody sets this table up outside the ring and drags Darby up off the floor. Brody CHOPS Darby towards the table, then gets a THIRD TABLE!

Brody sets this table up next to the second, but the leg breaks off! Brody throws that defective table aside while AEW returns to single picture. Brody puts Darby on the one table, then climbs up the corner! SUPER SPLASH through the table but NOT Darby! Darby avoids certain destruction and the fans fire up behind him. Darby drags himself up with the apron skirt and then the ropes. Brody crawls around and Darby has a wild look in his eyes, but then the lights go out! The lights come back on and it’s Malakai Black AND BUDDY MATTHEWS! Darby doesn’t care how many targets there are, he still builds speed! But Julia Hart trips him up! The FULL House is here!

Malakai walks over, crouches by Darby and Buddy steps up the table in the corner. Malakai puts Darby up against the table and Brody barks from the corner. Brody runs in, to CANNONBALL through the table! And this time, Darby IS part of the crash! Fans chant for Sting as Buddy and Malakai drag Darby from the wreckage, and then Buddy opens the coffin. But inside, it’s STIIIIING! Sting has his baseball bat, and he JAMS, and CRACKS and SMACKS Buddy!!

Sting whips Buddy hard into steel steps! Buddy tumbles over and Sting gets in the ring,. Malakai sits down, Brody stagger sup, Sting CLOBBERS Brody with it. Sting throws the bat to Malakai?! Sting is daring Malakai to try something, but Malakai thinks better of it. Fans boo as Malakai walks away, and he tells Brody he has to finish this. Sting slowly follows Malakai as he leaves, not letting this one go! Fans fire up, and Darby DIVES! He hits Brody towards the coffin but into the lid! The coffin closes and Darby opens it back up. Brody throws body shots and then RAMS Darby into more railing! Brody scoops and SLAMS Darby on the steel steps!

Brody suffers the hangman’s sleeper, and then Darby lets him go! Brody tumbles right into the coffin and it closes! DARBY WINS!

Winner: Darby Allin

The coffin didn’t drop, but it did slam shut! Darby survives this quite horrific battle with Brody, but will things only escalate with Buddy Matthews back and Sting going after Malakai?

Jon Moxley speaks.

“Y’know, I was thinking. Since y’all’re coming at me with your ‘interim’ just about every two seconds, and we already have the FTW belt, just for fun, what if we called this the FYI belt? Just an idea. This was forged in Cincinnati, Ohio, in Piccadilly. And just like the famed Hart Dungeon in Calgary, this championship is about pain and how much you can endure. For over two decades, we have watched the last survivor of the Dungeon, ‘Lionheart’ Chris Jericho, and we have watched his fighting spirit on full display. Tonight, I’m going to test it. And I am going to push it to its breaking point. And Chris, if your fighting sprit doesn’t break, your body will.”

Chris Jericho responds!

“After two and a half years, tonight, Chris Jericho takes back what’s rightfully his. Tonight, I will become the new AEW World Champion! I’m gonna beat ya, Moxley, and I’m gonna tell ya why. You wanted to face Lionheart Chris Jericho. You wanted to face the last survivor of Stu Hart’s Dungeon. Well be careful what you wish for, Mox! Cuz Stu wasn’t some kind of loveable old man, no. He was vicious! He was violent! He was a sadist! And the pain he put me through is something I never wanted to think about again. Until tonight.

“You talk about painting the canvas red with blood and scattering teeth across the ring. Well you can fix a tooth. You can heal a cut. But what I’m gonna do to you isn’t so easily fixable. I’m gonna twist you, Mox. I’m gonna turn you, and wrench the sh*t outta you tonight! I was the first AEW World Champion, and tonight, Lionheart Chris Jericho, the last survivor of Stu Hart’s Dungeon, will be the NEXT AEW World Champion! I guaran-effing-tee it!!”

The Young Bucks are on the Cutler Cam.

Matt & Nick Jackson have Brandon Cutler follow them because they need to get this on tape. The Bucks visit the Dark Order and Hangman Page. Sorry to barge in, but they mean no disrespect. They just wanted this on camera. John Silver says that’s fine, they have a BTE bit to film later anyway. Evil Uno asks Hangman and the Bucks if the rest of them should step out for this. No, no, it’s fine. The Bucks want the whole world to know this: They thank Hangman for saving them last week when he didn’t have to. Word on the street is, The Undisputed Elite are going to be around for a long time, and Hangman didn’t have to run them off.

The world has seen how the Bucks have treated Hangman, from what they’ve said to what they’ve done. They’re not proud of that and would take it all back if they could. So, Matt has been thinking and reminiscing. His favorite, most fun time of his career was when the three of them and The Elite were together, runnin’ and gunnin’ and doing this. They were building the revolution that became AEW. The friendship, the camaraderie, but then after AEW became a reality, things just got really weird. Matt knows Hangman felt that, too. Maybe it was the money, the TV time, the fame, but the Bucks got weird and selfish and if they could take it all back, they would.

So Matt just wants to say he is sorry. He means it. And… They’re here in this building, the very building Hangman won the AEW World Championship. Matt stood from afar and was so proud of Hangman, but he couldn’t even man up and say it! Hangman became a superstar! He wasn’t that other guy in The Elite, he WAS the Elite that night. Matt is so proud of Hangman, and wished he had enjoyed the journey over the destination. They can never get that time back. And Matt isn’t sure who he is anymore. He looks in the mirror and wonders if the internet trolls are right that he and Nick are awful. Maybe those people are on to something! Maybe they’re bad people.

But Matt knows one thing: when they’re around Hangman, he brings out the good in them. That is why Cutler’s camera is right here. The Bucks want to ask Hangman here and now: Will he be their third man in the trios tournament? The Hung Bucks can take on anyone! What does Hangman say? Huh? One last time! Hangman knew this would happen. He’d love to, guys, but he can’t. He knows Matt just said he was so proud of Hangman winning the world title and all that, but… The Bucks didn’t, The Dark Order did. These guys have been there for Hangman for those years The Bucks weren’t.

And in this AEW World Trios Championship tournament, Hangman feels this is The Dark Order’s chance. He feels he should have their backs the way they’ve always had his. He won’t be in the tournament at all, the Dark Order guys will be the team. So Hangman can’t be in their corner and in the Bucks’ corner at the same time. Hangman is sorry, but the Bucks get that. Hangman does know the Bucks should find someone who would never turn their backs on them. The Bucks get that. It’s fine. They can talk later. Good luck, Dark Order! Cutler asks The Bucks if they think Hangman meant him for the tournament. SHUT UP, BRANDON!

JB found Christian but security stops him from tearing into Christian! Captain Charisma runs off, Luchasaurus CLOBBERS the security! CHOKE SLAM onto a trunk! Miro speaks.

“Malakai. You’ve put me through changes, dragged me into the dark, but then I saw Hell was empty. Because all the devils are here.” Julia Hart walks over?! She tells Miro, “Embrace the gift. Give into it like I did.” Miro removes Julia’s hand from his face, and says there is only one woman who can touch The Redeemer, and Julia is not her. Tell the Pagans that he accepts their gift, and that he will own it so that he may use it to destroy them. “My warpath to my God is clear now. And it leads directly through The House of Black. These are the words of the Redeemer!” Will Miro join Sting and Darby in their fight against Malakai and his minions? Or is he going to destroy them on his own?

Backstage interview with Gunn Club.

Billy is telling his boys to toughen up, but Lexi Nair asks them about how they’re feeling after the Dumpster Match loss. Funny she should bring that up, because they were just going over that. He tells “Grandpa Ass” that it’s time to go to bed, it’s after 8 PM! They’ve got some Ensure in catering, maybe Billy can go get himself a bottle. As for the Gunn boys, they can start taking their careers a little more seriously.

Billy grabs the card away from Stokely. “The jokes are old and funny, but you’re about to have a really bad day.” Stokely says alright, that’s fine. Stokely leaves, and Billy says to make it up to Austin & Colten, they have a match for Rampage. But then Danhausen walks in! He and “the big bearded fellow” will see the Ass Boys this Friday. Ari says he’s been trying to get a hold of Cassidy all week! But Cassidy hasn’t answered any of Ari’s texts, calls or emails! Now that the trust has kicked in, Ari is investing in the best talent in AEW. He wants to bring Cassidy to superstardom, and all he’s gotta do is ditch the morons right here!

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Cassidy doesn’t know what Ari’s talking about, but whatever his question is, the answer is no. Trent & Chuck back him up. Is that it? The final answer is no? Alright, that’s fine. Fans are thunderous, the bell is ringing, the rest of the JAS rush out! Parker, Menard and Garcia go after the BCC, they have the numbers advantage!

Jericho grabs the AEW world title, Menard sets Moxley up, but wait!! C M PUNK is here!!! The Best in the World storms out to the ring, he CLOBBERS Parker, DECKS Garcia, then dodges Sammy to RAM him into steel steps! Punk dumps Hager out, dodges the belt shot and DECKS Jericho! And again! And then Punk clotheslines Jericho up and out! Fans are electric as Punk storms around, but Moxley grabs the AEW title belt. And even with everything that just happened, it is clear that the question is now: Who is THE AEW World Champion? Punk and Moxley stare down and fans lose their minds! Moxley flips Punk off, then bumps him on the way out!

Will Moxley prove HE is the Best in the World? Or will Punk, now 100%, go all out to prove that he is the UNDISPUTED AEW World Champion?

My Thoughts:

This was another awesome event for AEW, though they didn’t do much in the way to put a theme on this. “Quake by the Lake” was a clever name but they didn’t have props to fit the theme, like camping tents or a campfire. But anyway, the Coffin match was a great opener, though I should’ve known the House of Black would get involved. Great to see Buddy is back, and great use of the lights going out to sneak Sting into the coffin. Sting VS Malakai is coming, but I wonder if they’re going to have Miro join Sting and Darby in a brutal Six Man Tag of some kind after that promo he had. Miro says as much that he’s not joining the House of Black, so that’d be a logical move to me.

I really like the bracket we’re getting for the AEW World Trios Championship Tournament. Really good interaction between Best Friends and Trustbusters to set up matches for Rampage and to give some heat to their match in the opening round. I would think Best Friends win in the tournament, as I see Parker Boudreaux beating Sonny Kiss, and Ari Daivari possibly cheating to beat Cassidy. And great to see that NJPW is sending the United Empire’s Ospreay & Aussie Open, though I don’t see them getting through Death Triangle. After that awesome Tornado Tag where LFI wins, I think they get through the Bucks and their mystery third man.

Speaking of which, great promo from Bucks, Hangman and Dark Order. This all fits within Hangman’s larger story perfectly. He can’t just go back to the guys who left him out in the cold, but he is at least back out of the tournament entirely to let whatever three of the Dark Order try to win. I have a feeling the Bucks will have no choice but to use Cutler, and then Cutler takes the lose to LFI. LFI and Death Triangle then meet in the semifinals for an awesome 3v3 version of what we got tonight. And who knows who they face in the finals, but it’ll be an awesome match at All Out. Personally, would love if it comes down to Best Friends VS Death Triangle, I still want that feud to start again.

Great squash match win for Luchasaurus, and great brawl backstage. Christian of course avoids the fight, and Luchasaurus might get (kayfabe) fined and/or suspended for headbutting Pat Buck. What is it about Pat Buck that he gets beat up by talent? Great little bit from Lethal’s group and then Wardlow and FTR. Wardlow VS Lethal 2 is going to be great, not sure if there will be a Six Man Tag as the go-home to it, because it’s so obvious Sonjay would take the loss on that one. At some point, some team from somewhere has to beat FTR for one of those three titles they hold, and I feel like it’ll be a team from AAA to get those AAA belts since FTR has had those the longest.

Good little promo from Thunder Rosa & Toni Storm getting to the tension Britt Baker was bringing up. That title match could definitely be part of All Out, but I wonder if Britt tries to take the #1 contender spot in the last few weeks before then. Good interaction from Hobbs and The Factory, but QT is making it a little too obvious they’re just copying Tony D’Angelo from NXT. Great match from Starks and Solo, and Starks makes The Factory all look like dorks. Hobbs is mad, but we know Hobbs and Starks are going to have it out between now and All Out. Good stuff from Gunn Club and Danhausen, #Beardhausen is going to be a really fun team for Rampage.

Really good match from the TBS Championship, but I will say like I did for Rampage last week, Madison Rayne doesn’t actually seem that exciting or skilled of a wrestler. She’s somehow become a multiple time champion, but nothing about what we got out of her and Jade really thrilled me. And even then, we all knew Jade was winning. But a great little ambush from Athena, I really hope Athena gets the match for All Out, and I also hope Athena gets the title. Jade’s already set an incredible bar for a singles champion in AEW, and even if she loses at All Out, Jade can easily pivot to the world title to finish out 2022.

Great group promo from the JAS to hype up the main event as well as their own stuff, and I love that we’re getting 2 outta 3 falls for Garcia VS Bryan. Awesome main event for the title, practically PPV worthy, and of course there was blood. But WOW, ripping out the earring. A little disappointing but of course Jericho cheats with help from the JAS, but in the end, Moxley still wins. Great brawl and great return from CM Punk, was not expecting him so soon. But that means they’re going to set up Punk VS Moxley for the title at All Out because duh, it’s in Chicago again. No offense to Chicago, but one day, All Out should be somewhere else. But hey, they’re getting their hometown hero there, no idea if he wins to be Undisputed AEW World Champion or not.

My Score: 9.1/10
