Renee Paquette is with two men who are going to be opponents tonight in the Blind Eliminator Tag Tournament, but Darby wanted to speak first. Darby says he’s not an idiot. He knows Keith doesn’t wanna team with Swerve, but this isn’t about that. This is about Keith alone. Keith was among one of the most dominant champions in AEW, and if he feels like he’s been lost in the shuffle since losing the tag titles, “do something about it.” Even if he has to win with or without Swerve. But main thing is, pull your head out of your ass and take this serious. Or sit on the apron and cry about it. Darby will see which Keith shows up tonight.
Keith chuckles and says Darby is ballsy. Stupid, but ballsy. Will the Relentless One regret egging on the Limitless One just moments before the match?
Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament Opening Round: Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland w/ The Mogul embassy VS Darby Allin & Orange Cassidy!
Speaking of that match, #SwerveInOurGlory is forcibly reunited because of the tag team lottery. They were former tag team champions, just as Darby said, so will they find a way to get past their past and try again? Or will Darby and the Freshly Squeezed AEW International Champion make their own winning combination?
The teams sort out and Keith says he’ll go ahead and start. Fans cheer for Keith but boo Swerve. Keith starts with Darby and they circle. Darby SLAPS Keith! Keith smirks, and RAMS Darby to a corner! Then TOSSES him across the ring! Darby ends up in the other corner and Swerve likes that. Keith storms up on Darby as fans lose their minds already. Keith stands Darby up, fireman’s carries, but Darby fights free with elbows. Tag to Cassidy and fans fire up as he slow rolls in. Keith smirks as the sunglasses are put aside. Cassidy pumps himself up and fans rally up. Cassidy “chops” Keith! And “chops!” And winds up for “double chops!”
Fans fire up and Keith wonders what to do. Keith says he’ll try now. GRIZZLY MAGNUM! Down goes Cassidy! Cassidy sits up, clutching his chest, and Swerve sure has a good laugh. Keith stalks Cassidy to a corner, Cassidy stands up and says wait! Hands in pockets. Fans cheer again and Keith GRIZZLY MAGNUMS again! Cassidy falls against Keith but Keith lets him down. Cassidy sits up again, Keith watches him stand, and fans rally, “KEITH LEE! WOOP WOOP!” Darby tags back in, Cassidy SHOTGUNS Keith! Darby runs and springboards, COFFIN- Well, no, Keith catches Darby! But ORANGE PUNCH!
Keith wobbles, now COFFIN SPLASH! Keith wobbles, ORANGE PUNCH hits again! Swerve tags in, hides, and Cassidy aims again. Cassidy runs in but into a STEP-UP HOUSE CALL! Darby is up top, he leaps but Swerve gets under. COFFIN SPLASH, a wring, and a shoot around to the THROW- NO, Swerve slips free! Darby hobbles, Swerve UPPERCUTS, then SOBATS! Swerve snapmares Darby to then go up, FALLING UPPERCUT! Fans fire up all the same as Swerve swaggers and flexes. Fans boo the arrogance as Swerve mocks Keith’s pose. Swerve drops a knee, then stalks Darby to a corner.
Swerve ROCKS Darby, whips him corner to corner hard and Darby tumbles out of the ring! Fans rally for Darby as Cassidy checks on him, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Cassidy helps Darby up while Swerve waits. Darby crawls in, Swerve drags Darby up to CLUB him on the back! Swerve has Darby in a corner, digs his knee in, but the ref counts. Swerve lets off, then ROCKS Darby with a right. Swerve suplexes but Darby fights with knees! Darby gets free to SCORPION DEATH DROP! Both men are down and fans rally up. Darby crawls, hot tag to Cassidy! Or maybe just warm. Darby & Cassidy still double suplex Swerve down! Cover, TWO! Cassidy stays between Swerve and Keith, then runs to drop an elbow! Cover, TWO! Cassidy drags Swerve up to bring him around and ROCK him!
Tag to Darby, and he CHOPS Swerve in the corner. Swerve goes to another corner so Darby runs in, but into KNEES! Swerve runs to LARIAT Darby down! Swerve and Keith talk, Nana wants them to get on the same page, but Swerve stands Darby up. Swerve digs his forearms in, the ref counts, and Keith tags in. Keith throws a body shot, then he stands Darby back up. Tag back to Swerve, though it was almost a chop. Swerve scowls, steps in, and throws a haymaker. The ref reprimands Keith taking his time exiting, and Swerve puts Darby up top. Dynamite returns to single picture as Swerve climbs up.
Keith tags in and adds on, TOWER OF DOOM!! But Darby tags in Cassidy! Keith smiles as he catches Cassidy! BEARHUG! Swerve RAMS Darby into steel steps! Cassidy endures, Swerve tips steps over and stomps away on Darby. Sserve then traps Darby under the steps! Cassidy fights with elbows as fans rally! Swerve stomps away on Darby, Cassidy gets free of Keith, but Keith storms up. Cassidy dodges to DIVE onto Swerve! Direct hit and Cassidy goes to pick up the steps. Keiths teps out, Cassidy rushes up, ORANGE- NO, Keith catches the first! Keith picks Cassidy up but Cassidy slips aruond to a SLEEPER!
Fans fire up but Darby’s still stuck. Keith stands on the steps and squishes Darby as he gets in the ring! Keith TOSSES Cassidy away, Darby drags himself out from under the steps, and Keith stalks Cassidy. Keith winds up those arms, runs the ropes, but Cassidy goes the other way! Tilt-o-whirl, but Keith blocks the DDT to suplex! STUN DOG- NO, Keith blocks that, too! Keith gets Cassidy up but Cassidy tries another DDT! STUN DOG MILLION- NO!! Keith is still blocking! Cassidy fights to STUN DOG MILLIONAIRE after all! And Darby hops on, CODE RED!!! Fans are thunderous as Swerve climbs and Cassidy covers! TWO before the 450!!
Swerve hits Keith by accident! But he doesn’t really regret it after that superplex powerbomb fiasco. Cassidy tags Darby, Swerve blocks a kick to spin around and BACKBREAKER! Cassidy returns, tilt-o-whirls, but Swerve blocks it! Toss to Keith for the fireman’s carry! Toss to the ROLLING- NO! Cassidy ducks and the kick hits Keith! That was an actual miscue, and then Cassidy hits DEEP IMPACT! Cassidy DIVES to TORNADO DDT Keith to the floor! Darby has the LAST SUPPER! Cassidy & Darby win!!

AEW welcomes a new recruit.
In Everett, Washington is the Buddy Wayne Academy. 2014, Darby began training here. Buddy’s son, Nick, was just 8 years old. Talented back then. But June 17, 2017, Darby gets this text message. Buddy died, his heart stopped. In that moment, Darby had an almost out of body experience, punching his car steering wheel. And when he composed himself, he wondered first what happens to Nick. Darby made a promise that he would watch over Nick. Nick doesn’t need it, but Darby wanted to be sure Nick got what he wanted in life. Darby went to DEFY Wrestling to give Nick his AEW contract in person.
Darby didn’t ask Tony Khan to sign Nick as some kind of pity move. It’s just that Nick is that good. And now that Nick is 18, he’s ready. It’s just up to him to show the world now.
Someone arrives backstage.
Tony Schiavone is there, understanding that this is Jack Perry. Perry looks around and says last week was ridiculous! He isn’t some thug from New York. If Hook wants to handle business with Perry, they do this in the ring like professionals. That’s why Perry is going to Tony Khan right now to demand an FTW Championship match. But Perry turns around and HOOK CLOBBERS him! Hook beats on Perry, Perry gets back in his SUV and it takes off, just like last week! Hook is still wanting revenge, but will he hear Perry out on waiting for their match?
MJF waits for Adam Cole outside the gym.
The AEW World Champion says he loves the Panama City Playboy but c’mon, he’s been waiting outside forever. Cole walks out of the gym and asks where MJF has been. Cole’s been doing cardio for an hour, let’s go. Oh. Where’s the new Better Than You BAYBAY shirt? Cole doesn’t answer that so MJF assumes he just forgot it at home. They get to work, and MJF says thanks for coming to this bro workout session. Cole’s good to spot him, right? Right. MJF gets going, Cole is on his phone. MJF finishes the set, thanks Cole, and Cole says sure thing. MJF sees a real chunky guy and has a laugh.
MJF leans in and tells “Brochacho” Cole that that guy’s so fat, when he took his pants to the laundromat, they said, “Sorry sir, we don’t do curtains.” Cole tries not to laugh, but MJF then starts another one. Cole says don’t do that, it’s not funny anymore. Oh, sorry, bro. But Cole does say that there’s someone that guy reminds him of. They both say “Tony Schiavone!” at the same time! That they can agree on, oddly. Cole takes his turn next, and MJF doubts he can handle the same weight. MJF will spot him. Cole gets going and he actually impresses MJF. He does even a few more than MJF did! That was good, what’s next? Uh… WTF?! Can MJF keep up with Cole?
Six Man Tag: The Acclaimed & Billy Gunn VS The Blade & The Bollywood Boyz!
Max Caster, Anthony Bowens & Billy Gunn didn’t get swept up in the Blind Eliminator Tag shuffle, their plans for trios dominance is still on track! Speaking of track, here’s a new one from Platinum Max! “Acclaimed in the house, and we say we the live wire, breathing through the smoke like Canadian wildfires. Bollywood Boyz causin’ outrage, lookin’ like Trudeau when he did Brown Face! And I just gotta say this, you look like two b*tches and a dominatrix! It’s the illest in the game. In Edmonton, everybody loves the Acclaimed!” Bowens gets the mic to say, “EEEDMONTOOOON~! The Acclaimed have arrived! SCISSOR ME, DADDY ASS!” And he does~!
The trios sort out and Billy starts against Blade. Billy takes off the shirt and circles with Blade. Fans sing “OH~ Scissor Me, Daddy~!” Billy and Blade tie up, Billy headlocks then wrenches to a hammerlock, and back to a headlock. “That’s wrestling, everybody!” Blade powers out, but Billy runs him over! Fans cheer and Billy revels in it a second. Billy shows off the ships quite literally, but then Blade rolls him up! TWO, and Billy ROCKS Blade with that right! Billy shakes out his own hand, he hit that hard. Tag to Caster and they double whip Blade to double ELBOW! Caster covers, ONE! Caster says “SUCK IT!” but Blade hits low!
Blade tags Harv Sihra in but Caster dodges to back drop him! Gurv gets in but Caster scoops and SLAMS! Blade runs in but also into a scoop SLAM! Scoop SLAM for Harv, tag to Bowens! SCISSOR ME TIMBERS! The fans fire up and The Acclaimed coordinate, to GROUP SCISSOR FINGER~! Fans fire up but Blade CLOBBERS Caster as Dynamite goes picture in picture.
Blade and the Bollywood Boyz mug Caster and then Gurv tags in. Harv sets Caster up for Gurv to FLYING ELBOW! Cover, ONE!! Caster is tougher than that but Gurv rains down fists! Caster pushes him away, goes to ropes, then pushes him again. Gurv ROCKS Caster, tags Harv, and the Bollywood Boyz mug him. Tag to Blade, he helps mug Caster, and then he puts Caster in the corner to CHOP! Blade stalks Caster to another corner, stomps him and headlocks to bring him back to the Bollywood corner. Tag to Harv and he drops AX HANDLES! Harv keeps Caster from his team, tags in Gurv, and they double suplex Caster!
The Bollywood Boyz do their dance, then drop elbows! Gurv keeps Caster down with a chinlock. Caster endures, fights up, and throws body shots. Gurv CLUBS Caster, tags Blade, and they mug Caster again. Blade chinlocks Caster to keep him from the Acclaimed corner, but Caster endures. Fans rally up and Caster fights to his feet. Caster fights up but Blade throws him down! Blade soaks up the heat and he drags Caster up again. Blade whips, Caster ducks ‘n’ dodges and DOUBLE LARIATS collide! Fans rally up as both men crawl, and Dynamite returns to single picture. Blade CLOBBERS Billy, then tags in Harv!
But Caster tags in Bowens! The Five Tool Player rallies o the Bollywood Boyz! ROLLING ELBOW for Gurv! Strike fest for Blade! But Harv rolls Bowens up! TWO, and Bowens SOBATS, front kicks, and runs to KOTARO KRUSHER! “EVERYONE loves the Acclaimed!” Tag to Billy and fans fire up! Billy cobra clutches Harv, for the ONE AND ONLY SLAM! Tag to Caster, for the MIC DROP! Cover, Acclaimed wins!

The streak is continuing, as does the scissor party! Will nothing stop these three from going after the House of Black? Wait, QTV has to go and interrupt… Harley “apologizes” for interrupting. But it is only fair after they rudely interrupted her when she was showing us her talents. But as they all know, the Acclaimed got their asses beat, just as they deserved. But speaking of, it is only fair that she gets what she deserves. So she made them a little video. So come next Wednesday, she will show the world what real talent is! AEW shares results from NJPW Strong Independence Day.
Just earlier today, in Korakuen Hall, Eddie Kingston dethroned Kenta as NJPW Strong Openweight Champion! A lifelong journey sees a major goal fulfilled, will he be bringing that belt back to AEW?
Jon Moxley speaks.
The Maniac is also in Japan, having survived Final Death. He says, “Eddie Kingston and I are the exact same people we were when I met him in 2009. Well over a decade. The ups, the downs, the peaks, the valleys. The good times and the bad, we both made it out. We both got everything we could’ve wanted out of this business. What is there to complain about, man? What is there to walk around mad for all the time, man? We don’t live in the past. We make every day count.
“Dude, y’know what really pisses me off? How much time you spend complaining about the young kids, the new generation, how they have no respect, how they have no work ethic. We spent time building the next generation. I have a dream of this Eddie Kingston that finally let the past be the past and embrace the future. Matt Hardy is backstage with Renee and RJ City.
RJ’s got the tag team lottery tumbler out and Hardy is hoping for a good roll. The rolling is done, Renee says this is for the Blind Eliminator Tag Tournament match this Friday on Rampage episode 100! Hardy gets… Jeff! Hardy? Sweet, his brother! No, Jeff as in Jarrett… Ew, the Nuts of Slap. Hardy hates that guy. Well, will V1 and Double J make it work if it means getting the tag titles?
Wheeler Yuta speaks.
“Kenny Omega. The Cleaner, the Best Bout Machine, the man whose reputation precedes him. A man who everyone thinks is gonna walk through me tonight.” But Kenny isn’t the favorite, Yuta is. Kenny is battered, broken and bruised, and Yuta’s pinned him once before. Yuta already won once, but this won’t even be about beating Kenny. This will be about ending him! Blood & Guts is gonna be a massacre, and a surrender. Kenny and The Elite are already one man down, and Yuta will have already decided this war. And he does that by ending Omega here tonight. They’re in the main event, will The Decoder have the Cleaner solved?
Chris Jericho is here!
The fans sing Judas for him as he makes his way out to the ring. The Wizard doesn’t seem to be feeling too bad despite his loss to Sting & Darby Allin last week in their Tornado Tag Match. Jericho gets a mic and the fans all cheer. Jericho says they’re loud here tonight! “But it’s a little bit bittersweet for me here.” He appreciates them cheering, but over the last few months, Jericho has taken big losses, and things haven’t gone how he wanted them to. So maybe it is time for him to reevaluate a few things and make some changes. The reason he is saying this is because this is the perfect place for him to be reinvigorated, here in Alberta.
Fans cheer as Jericho says this is where he started his career! Seems like only yesterday that he was down the road, starting his training with Stu Hart in Calgary. Wait, they’re booing Stu? But it was all across Alberta. Jericho had his match just an hour from here in Ponoka. Fans cheer Ponoka! Jericho got here a couple days early, he drove up and down the 2 Highway, drove past all the sites, and he remembered what it was like when he first started. The passion! The fire! When wrestling was everything to him! And it reminded him that wrestling is still everything to him! Fans cheer that!
So yeah, Alberta is the place where Jericho is invigorated, resurrected! Time to become a better Chris Jericho. Maybe even the best version EVER! Wait, what is that on the tron? Don Callis?! What’s he doing coming out here? Fans boo the real Judas of AEW, and he just smiles. Callis says what he is hearing, other than the fans booing really hard, is that Jericho needs a change. Callis says it was six years ago today that Callis called Jericho from the hotel in Tokyo and said, “How would you like to main event the Tokyo Dome with Kenny Omega?” And in their 34 years of friendship, Jericho surprised Callis by saying yes.
And with that match, they changed the course of wrestling history! Without that match, none of these fans are here! Callis doesn’t think Jericho would be here in AEW without that match. Jericho says sorry, it was hard to hear Callis with all these boos. Fans cheer now, and Jericho says he could say the same about Callis. Eight years ago, 2015, when Callis was in the middle of his very successful international career that Jericho knew he was miserable. Callis wanted to be in the pro-wrestling business, and Jericho helped him do that. Jericho’s the one who helped Callis get into AEW, and now look at him! He’s bigger and more powerful than he’s ever been!
So if not for Jericho, Callis wouldn’t be here. Callis starts to speak again but fans boo. As with most things in their 34 year friendship, they’re in agreement. Callis agrees that when these two get together, they make history! But as everyone knows, Callis was “betrayed by a coward punk named Kenny Omega.” Callis is building his new family after Omega destroyed theirs. And this family will be based on trust. When it comes to trust, Callis thinks of the greatest of all time! He thinks of the man who beat Kenny Omega in AEW, and he thinks of his best friend of 34 years, Chris Jericho!
Fans tell Callis to shut up, but Callis says if Jericho wants to change history one more time, Callis is here to formally ask him one thing: “Will you join the Don Callis Family?” Fans boo even more while Jericho thinks on the question. Is Callis really asking Jericho to join him? Jericho joins Callis’ faction? Jericho doesn’t join factions, he makes them! Fans cheer that and says that if Callis is seriously asking Jericho to join up with him, he has one word for him! Jericho joining Callis? The answer is… “Maybe.” Fans are a little disappointed in that but Jericho still takes his leave. Will Jericho disband the JAS to join the DCF? Or is he just stringing Callis along?
AEW hears from CM Punk and Samoa Joe.
Punk says, “You know they say to never say never. I look at Samoa Joe like a mountain I’ve tried to climb and I’ve never quite made the summit.” Joe says, “A true friend comes the week before, shows you what’s gonna happen to you if you get into that ring with him.” This is another chapter in their story, but Punk says it’ll end differently, because for the first time, Punk wins. Joe taking out Strong was to send Punk a message, but Punk tells Joe he’ll have to do that to Punk to stop him from winning. Joe tells “Punker” that “there’s never been a day in your life that you’ve been better than me.” And this week, nothing changes.
Punk vows to finally win, and whatever is left of him goes on to win the whole damn thing. “Tell me when I’m telling lies.”
Backstage interview with Roderick Strong.
Renee is with Strong as Doc Sampson checks on his neck. Renee asks about the update, and Sampson says after what Joe did last week, they’ve been checking Strong daily. With Strong’s history, they should take as much time as they can. Strong says he feels amazing, but then Cole walks in. Cole asks Strong how he’s feeling. Strong again says he’s feeling great, but Cole says he still has to be careful. Take all the time you need. Strong says fine, but what’s the deal with Cole and MJF? Don’t worry about that. Just worry about yourself. Cole has it under control and made it clear they have boundaries.
Oh, MJF just texted. “Hey bro, you ready to hit dat double clothesline or what?” Cole sighs. He’s up next, he’ll catch up with Strong later. Strong says okay but he does look a little worried. Is it because Cole & MJF might not win? Or is it because they are becoming friends?

The AEW World Champion has them cut his music so that he can cue up Cole’s. Cole stops him from hugging, and they go to the ring together. Is MJF copying Cole? MJF actually high fives fans, too. But will these two actually make it work? Or will Daddy Magic & Andy Williams get a shocker against two of the best?
The teams sort out, MJF again asks where the Better Than You Baybay shirt is. Cole defends he lost it, but then Butcher & Menard just attack! Fans boo as they stomp away on Cole & MJF, then let off as the ref counts. Cole bails out, MJF is stuck, and Menard mocks the champ. MJF stands up and Menard throws forearms! MJF doesn’t budge, even as Menard CHOPS! MJF choke grips but Menard rakes eyes! Menard soaks up the heat, runs, but MJF ducks and handsprings! MJF kicks, but he thumbs Menard in the eyes! MJF soaks up the cheers, then drags Menard up. Cobra twist, and MJF reaches out for Cole.
Cole says no, he’s not doing the leverage thing. MJF is annoyed and starts a “DO IT!” chant. Cole says no, they don’t need to. MJF says c’mon, dude, what’s the deal? “DO IT! DO IT!” Cole sighs and pulls MJF’s arm! The ref suspects something, Cole lets go, and Menard hip tosses MJF away! MJF crawls, Menard CLUBS him down, and then drags him up. Menard bumps MJF off buckles, RAMS into him again and again and again, then lets off. Menard CHOKES MJF, the fans chant “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” for Cole, and Menard lets off. Butcher gets cheap shots in on MJF! Menard sucker punches Cole!
Fans boo but Cole gets in! Menard hurries away, the ref stops Cole, and Menard CHOKES MJF! Tag to Butcher and Menard is all fired up. Butcher keeps MJF from Cole and HEADBUTTS him down, and Dynamite goes picture in picture.
MJF goes to ropes but Butcher CHOKES him! The ref counts, Butcher lets off, and he looms over MJF. Butcher drags MJF up, bumps him off buckles, and then DECKS him! MJF crawls, Butcher drags him over and tags in Menard. They mug MJF with DOUBLE HEADBUTTS! Menard taunts MJF as he crawls, then stomps him down. Menard drags MJF up, headlocks, but MJF throws body shots. Fans rally up, but Menard throws MJF down by his hair! Menard soaks up the heat, drags MJF up and bumps him off buckles. Menard throws hands, then wrenches and whips corner to corner.
MJF bounces off buckles, falls over, and Menard soaks up more heat. Tag to Butcher and he storms up to stand on MJF’s hand! The ref reprimands but Butcher stomps MJF. Butcher drags MJF up, but MJF throws hands! MJF kicks, Butcher blocks and then CHOPS MJF down! Butcher drops a knee, then stays between MJF and Cole. Butcher reels MJF in, and puts him in the Cobra Twist! Butcher returns the favor by reaching out for Menard, but the ref is on his guard. Butcher digs his knuckles into MJF’s ribs instead, and Dynamite returns to single picture. MJF endures, and now Menard and Butcher combine!
The fans boo now but turnabout is fair play. They do it again but the ref catches Menard this time! MJF LOW BLOWS Butcher!! MJF crawls away but Butcher tags Menard! MJF hugs Cole to celebrate, but then remembers “boundaries.” They still have their hands raised, and MJF wants some mics. MJF has the music cut, and he says, “ALBERTA, CANADA! I got a question. We got any Devil Worshippers in the house tonight?” Fans cheer for MJF, and he wants them to hold on. He has one more question: Any fans of a certain super cool over name? “Do the thing!” Adam Cole says alright, and winds it up. “ADAM COLE, BAYBAY!!” That’s right! MJF says he and Cole are better than you, baybay! But bud, real quick, they could’ve done better if they just did a double lariat already.
Cole tells MJF to stop with that. Right, boundaries, sorry. MJF says that he thinks they should have another “bro session” this weekend. What do the fans think? “YES! YES! YES!” Cole says sure, why not. MJF is all excited, and wants him to hold on! Cole, one more thing! MJF will put the title down for this one. “Happy birthday!” Fans cheer and streamers fly! MJF gets fans to chant “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” Bring out the stuff! What? MJF is covered in streamers as he waves out the one balloon and tiny cake. The crew brings those into the ring, and MJF gets the party hats. He even helps Cole with his.
Cole says this is a lot. MJF puts a party blower in Cole’s mouth and says this day is all about Cole. They’re here to celebrate Cole! Fans like the sound of that. Cole blows the kazoo and MJF says that’s the spirit! Now for the song. “Happy Birthday to you~!” MJF of course puts his best R&B spin on it. Cole wants MJF to stop already. We get it, MJF is a great singer. And Cole appreciates all this, but MJF has done more than enough. MJF says hold on, there’s one more thing! “MAKE A WISH! MAKE A WISH!” The candle is lit! fans want Cole to try, but MJF says he’s gonna push him into the cake.
Cole blows out the candle, and MJF makes his move! But Cole whips around and shoves MJF into the cake!! MJF falls over and the fans love it! MJF sits up and laughs it off. Cole got him good there. Cole wipes some frosting from MJF’s face and takes a taste. Good cake. Fans chant “EAT SOME CAKE! EAT SOME CAKE!” MJF eats the cake off his own face. Cole tells MJF, and he means this with all sincerity, it was actually nice to do all this for him. So thank you, friend. Cole leaves and MJF smiles. Are these two going to be the unlikeliest of friends and finalists in this tournament?
Backstage interview with Britt Baker.
Renee says she was sorely missed being out with illness last week, but tonight, she will face Ruby Soho in the Owen Hart Cup. Ruby had some choice words for her, so what is Britt’s reaction? Ruby’s got a lot of courage lately with her new friends and new attitude. Britt doesn’t care what Ruby says, if she likes her, or if anyone does. But Ruby lied last week. Ruby told the world that she’s taken everything from Britt that she’s ever cared about. But there are two things Ruby can never take from Britt. First is her pride. No matter who you are or what you’ve done, Britt will always be the Face of the Women’s Division.
And second is more something Britt took from Ruby: being the first ever Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winner. Britt still has the belt to show it. Now she’ll win it all over again! Britt is just sorry it’ll be done in the first round. The rematch from the finals is coming, will history repeat itself? Or will the Runaway run through The Doctor?
Backstage interview with Jericho, Daniel Garcia & Sammy Guevara.
Renee is with the JAS and says we all need some explanations about Jericho possibly joining Don Callis. Garcia says Jericho said “maybe” when he is supposed to be leading them. Garcia- er, they both need Jericho. Jericho says they’re still his family. But they can’t always be under his wing. They need to branch out for themselves and do great things without him leading them. Renee says that it turns out, in the Blind Eliminator Tournament drawings, Sammy & Garcia got paired together. This is perfect! Jericho says this is what they can do to prove what he’s saying! They can go win the tournament, then win the tag titles on their own!
Show Jericho who can be the new leader here in AEW. They can’t be together forever, he just wants them to think about it. Garcia wants a fist bump, and Sammy gives it. Will Red Dead & Spanish God take over the tag division without The Ocho’s guidance?

The Doctor shows off her Queen of Harts belt, ready to add another one to her collection. Will Britt pull off the win just like at Double or Nothing 2022? Or will there be No Future in her future?
The bell rings and the two circle. They tie up, Britt wrenches but Ruby wrenches back. Ruby wristlocks, Britt wrenches back, and then cradles, TWO! Britt keeps on the arm, but Ruby pulls hair! Ruby headlocks, The Outcasts rally for her but they’re the only ones. Britt wrenches out to the FUJIWARA, but Ruby gets free and bails out of the ring. The Outcasts regroup, fans rally for “D M D!” Britt smirks as she waits on Ruby to return. Ruby and Britt circle, then Ruby gets aroudn to a waistlock. Britt switches, Ruby pries free to wrench and pull hair. The ref counts, Ruby arm-drags, but Britt drags Ruby down to a hammerlock!
Ruby fights up, Britt keeps on the arm. Ruby pulls more hair but the ref reprimands. Britt headlocks, Ruby powers up and out, but Britt runs her over! Fans fire up and Britt runs, but Ruby drops, swings, but Britt redirects to the SLINGBLADE! Britt then wrenches, clinches, but Ruby fights it. They both stumble, Ruby bails out, and the Outcasts regroup with her. Britt storms up but Ruby trips her! Ruby drags Britt out but Britt ROCKS her! Saraya talks trash on Britt, as does Storm. Britt finds herself surrounded, but the ref says back off. Britt turns around, into an STO from Ruby! Saraya & Storm mock Britt while Dynamite goes picture in picture,.
Ruby admires the literal Owen Hart Cup and says it’s gonna be hers. Ruby then drags Britt up and into the ring, covers, TWO! Ruby puts Britt on ropes to CHOKE! The ref counts, Ruby lets off, and Saraya CHOKES Britt now! Saraya HOTSHOTS Britt then slips away before the ref sees. Ruby bumps Britt off buckles, stomps her down, then stomps her more! The ref counts, Ruby argues with him, and taunts the fans while she’s at it. Ruby stomps Britt, slaps her around, but Britt kicks back. Ruby brings Britt up to ROCK her with a forearm! Ruby CHOKES Britt on the top rope, the ref counts, but Ruby lets off.
Ruby brings Britt around, but Britt kicks her low. And again! And again! Britt throws forearms, but Ruby claws her eyes! Ruby throws Britt down by her hair! The ref reprimands but Ruby covers, ONE!! Britt hangs tough but Ruby clamps on with a full nelson. Britt endures, fights up, but Ruby drags her down again. Ruby has Britt away from ropes as she thrashes her around. Britt still endures, fights up, and throws elbows. Britt gets free, ELBOWS Ruby again, then ROCKS her with forearms! Ruby ROCKS Britt back! Dynamite returns to single picture as Ruby wrenches Britt’s hair.
The ref reprimands again, but Britt elbows Ruby away! Ruby runs up but Britt gets around to ROCK her again! And again! And again! Britt fires off shot after shot after shot but Ruby shoves her away! Britt blocks to LARIAT! And LARIAT again! And NECKBREAKER! Britt gets Ruby up, reels her in, but Ruby stomps a foot! Ruby ROCKS Britt, whips her to a corner, then runs in, But Britt spins Ruby to FISHERMAN SCREW! Cover, TWO!! Ruby survives and Britt grows frustrated. But she brings out the glove! Fans fire up as Britt puts it on, but Saraya barks at her. Britt tells Saraya to shut up, and she spells it out, “D! M! D!”

But no, this is not a No Disqualification match and no, The Decoder is not Will Ospreay. Therefore, will Omega rebound with violent redemption? Or will Yuta truly earn this win over one of the best today?
But wait, Yuta CLOBBERS Omega from behind! Fans boo and the bell rings as Yuta goes for the cheap advantage anyway! Yuta fires off hands, then CHOPS Omega in the corner! Fans boo but Yuta CHOPS Omega again! Yuta fires off forearms, the ref counts, but Omega turns things around to CHOP back! And CHOP again! Yuta staggers, Omega stalks him but Yuta CHOPS! Omega CHOPS! Omega ROCKS Yuta with forearms and then stomps away! The ref counts but Omega gets the fans all fired up first! Omega stands Yuta up but Yuta BITES Omega’s forehead! Yuta CLUBS away on Omega in the corner!
Yuta whips corner to corner but Omega reverses! Yuta comes back into a back drop! Omega drags Yuta up, scoops, and hits a BACKBREAKER! Cover, TWO! Fans lose their minds and Yuta snarls again. Yuta drags Omega up to whip him hard into railing! Omega clutches his arm but Yuta whips him the other way, just as hard into more railing! The ref reprimands but Yuta laughs as he stalks up on Omega. Yuta turns Omega, NECKBREAKER to the floor! Fans are going nuts but Yuta just soaks it all up. Omega writhes but Yuta gets in the ring to soak up more heat.
Omega sits up, the ref starts a ring count, but Yuta paces around. Yuta eggs Omega on, Omega stands and the fans rally up. Omega gest on the apron but Yuta brings him up. Omega ROCKS Yuta, ROCKS him again, but Yuta ROCKS Omega! And again! Omega wobbles, Yuta swings but Omega blocks to ROUNDHOUSE! Omega brings Yuta up, suplexes, but Yuta fights it! Omega goes up the ropes to use leverage but Yuta wrenches out to CLUB Omega! And HOTSHOT him! Yuta brings Omega to the corner, tears off the covering and STANDS on Omega on the crossbar! Fans boo and the ref counts, but Yuta lets off at 4.
Dynamite goes picture in picture as Yuta takes another cover off. NECKBREAKER to the top crossbar! Omega falls to the apron and Yuta soaks up the heat with double bicep flex. Yuta then builds speed to WRECK Omega with the baseball slide dropkick! Yuta soaks up more heat, paces around, and lets the ring count start. The fans rally for Omega and he stands up. Yuta swaggers out after Omega to SMACK him off the apron! Omega flops against the post but Yuta SMACKS him against it! Omega is dizzy, Yuta pushes him into the ring. Yuta then drops a SENTON! Cover, TWO! Omega is still in this but Yuta keeps cool.
Yuta chinlocks Omega and digs a knee in. The fans rally up as Omega endures. Omega pries at the hold, but Yuta pushes him to a cover, TWO! Omega crawls, but Yuta stomps him. Yuta clamps on the chinlock again and again digs his knee in. Omega endures, pries at the hold again, and Dynamite returns to single picture. Omega has the hold open and fans fire up! But Yuta powers the hold back on, and he leans on Omega’s head. Omega still endures, so Yuta pushes him down. SENTON onto knees! Omega saves himself and fans rally up. Yuta stands, Omega throws body shots! Fans rally as Yuta staggers away.
Omega throws more hands, then JABS! JABS! And JABS! JAB after JAB, but Y uta claws Omega’s face, then CLUBS him on the back! Yuta wrenches and clinches, but Omega fights the Olympic Slam to arm-drag! Omega then SLAM DUNK BULLDOGS Yuta down! Fans fire up as both men stir on the mat. The ref starts the standing count, and Omega drags himself up with the ropes. Omega stands at 5 of 10, swings and CLOBBERS Yuta! Yuta gets up in a huff but Omega CHOPS him down! Fans fire up as Omega spins, but Yuta ducks to kick. Omega blocks that to ROLLING ELBOW! Omega HEADBUTTS away on Yuta, then brings him around, to SUPER FISHERMAN BUSTER!! Fans are thunderous while both men are down! Omega crawls to the cover, TWO!! Yuta survives and Omega is beside himself. Omega drags Yuta up, ROCKS him with a forearm, but Yuta hits back.

Omega escapes and Yuta can’t believe it! Yuta hurries to run in, but into a POP-UP BOMB! Flip over and V-TRIGGER!! Cover, TWO!!! Yuta is hanging tough and fans are thunderous as they both stand up!
Omega aims again, BANG! But wait, Don Callis storms down to the ring! The ref and security stop him, but that’s because this is a decoy! KONOSUKE is here! And he BLUE THUDNER BOMBS Omega!! Yuta goes up to FLYING SPLASH!! Cover, TWO!??!? Omega survives and Yuta is furious! But he just goes up top again, only for Omega to anchor him. Yuta reaches between his legs to get at Omega, but Omega gives him a STRAIGHT RIGHT HAND!! Then the Electric Chair Lift, ONE WINGED ANGEL!!! Cover, Omega wins!!

Konosuke & Callis tried to screw Omega over, but it didn’t work out! But then CLAUDIO gets in and he just beats down on Omega! Konosuke returns to help out, and fans boo as they dig their boots in. But here comes The Elite! The Bucks & Hangman have chairs and they use them on The BCC! They get Claudio with a BTE TRIGGER! The Bucks set Claudio up for Hangman’s chair, but the DARK ORDER runs out here?! They stop Hangman from doing any more damage, but why? We know about the Rampage trios match but why spare Claudio? Will The Cowboy have to whoop his old friends’ asses once and for all this Friday?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite here with a lot of great action. I will say, the Owen Hart Cup match of Britt VS Ruby was great stuff and also went how I expected. Ruby cheats Britt, she’ll probably cheat Skye depending on who is meant to win out of Willow Nightingale VS Athena. Sadly, Willow VS Athena is no longer Champion VS Champion, Willow just lost her NJPW Strong Women’s title this morning at NJPW Strong Independence Day. If only AEW did more than one woman’s match a show, they might’ve already faced off last week when Willow was still champ. But the silver lining is that maybe Willow gets to be in the finals.
Great stuff out of the Blind Eliminator Tag Tournament, too. Great opening promo where Darby motivates Keith to try, and great match. But Darby and Cassidy are both Faces, Keith and Swerve still have their own beef, so naturally the team that is united wins out. Though on the flipside, Menard & Butcher were put together cuz it won’t hurt either of them to lose like always, and we got great stuff out of MJF & Cole. That really was a fun little post match birthday promo, and combined with the promo with Roderick Strong, Cole could end up in a strange position where he actually likes MJF and has to choose if he wants the tag titles with MJF, or just the world title.
Good promo from Joe and Punk to hype up their match this weekend, and we’ll also get a great match out of Hobbs VS Starks to set up the Men’s Owen Hart Cup finals. Again, any combo is possible in my eyes, but I do think it’ll be Punk over Joe. Starks and Hobbs could go either way, but between Bullet Club Gold hating on Starks and QTV helping Hobbs, it feels more and more like Punk VS Hobbs should be the finals. Great Six Man Tag that of course The Acclaimed & Billy won. I dread what Harley Cameron is about to give us next week, because they’re going to make it purposefully awful rather than as good as Harley really can be as a singer.
Really good promo from Jericho with Callis, and what a twist that Jericho, on the verge of turning Face, is offered a chance to join Callis’ new group, which really does need to start growing already. This could be an opportunity for a lot of people not getting a lot of screen time and not really affiliated with any teams to get on Dynamite. Jericho saying “Maybe” is of course for the intrigue, but I do like that in his prom with Garcia & Guevara, Jericho is now the one saying they need to step out of his shadow and be their own men. Garcia & Guevara VS Hardy & Jarrett, I would think Garcia & Guevara win because Hardy & Jarrett can’t get along. Honestly, give me Garcia & Guevara VS MJF & Cole in the finals of this tournament, those guys are all great and this can all feed into story.
Great Moxley promo that was clearly made just moments after he had his Final Death match with Desperado, and it definitely keeps the beef between him and Eddie alive. Eddie won’t get to be in Blood & Guts because of the G1 Climax schedule, so that perfectly preserves Eddie VS Moxley for the rest of Summer, like going into All In or All out. And great main event from Omega VS Yuta, probably one of if not the best Yuta match in AEW. Of course Callis and Konosuke try to ruin it but Omega makes it through, and we get more great stuff from BCC and Elite.
I am disappointed that they apparently didn’t make it clear there was going to be more, like Dark Order showing up, because then they cut to The Cube which, while it’s surely a good show, I don’t care about compared to AEW. Hopefully social media gets what else happened, or that they make it known on Rampage’s 100th episode (which wow, it’s been that many already?) before the rematch happens. And I feel like for the mystery fifth men in each match (Bryan really is hurt and that forearm break was really serious), Kota Ibushi should show up for The Elite cuz Kenny, and there has to be someone truly shocking to join BCC. Someone who is currently Face that can turn, has links back to the other members, who knows, but it’ll be good stuff.

Hechi and Claudio circle, and Hechi dazzles with the magic. Then he grabs Claudio’s leg for the trip, but Claudio turns that around to a toehold of his own. Hechi rolls, trips Claudio, and has the toehold back. Claudio drags Hechi down by an arm but Hechi rolls over. Claudio stands over Hechi but Hechi rises up. Hechi spins and slips through to then dazzle again. The fans are torn but Hechi shoves Claudio. Claudio shoves Hechi, but Hechi rebounds to RUN Claudio over!
Hechi rolls Claudio, tucks him in for a ghost pin, TWO! Claudio steps over for LA MAGISTROL, TWO! They tie up, Claudio headlocks for the takeover, but Hehci rolls to a cover, TWO, and both men stand. The fans cheer the stare down, and Hechi trips Claudio! They roll, Hechi whips, but Claudio reverses. Hechi ducks the boot, Claudio blocks the dropkick, but Hechi avoids the senton! Back to the ghost pin, TWO! Claudio stands to whip Hechi for the arm-drag! Hechi keeps moving, and he flips through the arm-drag to fireman’s carry! Claudio slips free, reels Hechi in, but Hechi BACKDROPS free! Claudio lands out!
Hechi comes back, victory roll, then he has both legs for a SPIN into the leglock! Claudio scrambles to the ROPEBREAK and Hechi lets go. Hechi taunts Moxley with the drop steps and middle finger but Moxley just smirks. Claudio returns to the ring, and he tags in Moxley! The fans fire up as Hechi then tags Konosuke! A teaser for Revolution as Konosuke glares through his back eye. The fans go nuts already as these two circle. They get face to face, egg each other on, and Konosuke RAMS Moxley! Moxley RAMS Konosuke! Konosuke RAMS Moxley but Moxley just flips him off! Moxley runs, but Konosuke runs him over!
The fans fire up for Konosuke while Moxley gets back up. They knuckle lock, then Moxley kicks low! Moxley double wristlocks, then tags Claudio. The Death Riders mug Konosuke, the fans are torn, but Claudio headlocks. Konosuke powers up and out, but the hurdle is caught! Konosuke slips free, shoves Claudio, then drops down so he can CALF KICK! The fans fire up, and Konosuke tags Hechi. Hechi goes for a leg but Claudio brings him around. Tag to Moxley, the Death Riders double whip, btu Hechi KICKS Moxley! Claudio CHOPS Hechi, then whips him to Moxley, but Hechi step-up KNEES! Hechi and Claudio clinch, but Claudio UPPERCUTS!

Moxley coaches Claudio up while Hechi storms his way over. Hechi taunts them from the corner, then backs off as Moxley slides in. Moxley and Hechi feel things out, but Hechi dropkicks the legs! Then he DDTS Moxley down! Cover, TWO! Moxley is up but Hechi clinches. They end up in a corner, Moxley fires body shots from all sides, but he stops at 4 to put Hechi’s leg in ropes. Moxley argues with the ref, but that lets Claudio CLAW Hechi’s face! Claudio gets away with that, and Moxley DROPKICKS the leg! Tag to Claudio, and he stomps Hechi around. Dynamite returns to single picture as the fans boo.
Hechi fires body shots but Claudio eggs him on. Hechi rises to CHOP! And CHOP! But Claudio shoves to then SLAM Hechi down! Claudio has the legs and the fans cheer, but Hechi makes the ROPEBREAK! Claudio lets go, runs the ropes, but Hechi MONKEY FLIPS him out of the ring! The fans fire up as Claudio hit the floor! Claudio hurries back in, he pushes Hechi from the Callis corner, and facelocks him to the corner. Tag to Moxley, they double whip Hechi corner to corner, but Hechi goes up and out. Konosuke tells the family to back off! The whole point of the Continental Championship is to win it alone! The fans tell Callis off, but he has the others listen to Konosuke on this. Hechi, Archer, and Davis all back off, and Konosuke tells Moxley that they’ll have their match 1v1, and that Konosuke will still be Continental Champion. Will the Alpha prove he is truly the best when he beats Moxley all on his own?
Backstage interview with Willow Nightingale and Persephone.
Renee Paquette is with the AEW TBS Champion and the NEW CMLL Women’s World Champion. Willow says this is a match she’s wanted for awhile. Congratulations on winning that title off Mercedes Mone, that was an awesome match. Perse thanks Willow, and says if anyone knows what it’s like to beat The CEO, it is Willow. Willow beat Mone to become TBS Champion. But… Perse was just thinking, out of the two of them, Perse may have hit Mone harder. Well, okay… Willow appreciates the fire, she hopes Perse brings that to their match and hits her just as hard. But she will get up, she promises. Perse isn’t so sure about that.
Well, we’ll see about that. Yes, we will see about that… Perse taps the TBS Championship, and Willow says let’s go out there and have a great match. They fist bump, but will the Babe with the Power still be the Babe with Two Belts? Or will the Goddess of the Underworld make herself a double campeona?
Don Callis talks with Kyle Fletcher backstage.

And so do MJF a favor, that Kemosabe dollar store Karate Kid kicked MJF in the face a couple weeks ago. Can Kyle beat the absolute s*it out of “No Balls” Mike Bailey for him? Kyle doesn’t know who “Maxwell” thinks he’s talking to, but he doesn’t take orders from him.
Kyle will beat Bailey up so bad for Kyle, not for MJF. MJF asks Callis to teach his guys how to speak to the AEW World Champion. MJF heads out, Kyle asks Don that they better not be working with that SOB. Callis says no, he’s not crazy! Now c’mon, let’s go kick butt.

Bailey, Kevin Knight, and their new partner, Mistico, will be going for the trios titles on Sunday, but can Bailey snatch the TNT title away here tonight? The bell rings and the fans rally up. Willow and Perse circle, tie up, and Willow wrenches to wristlock then waistlock. Perse switches, Willow switches back, but Perse fights the lift. Willow shifts to a headlock but Perse powers up, only for Willow to hold on tight. The fans cheer as Willow hits the headlock takeover. Nick passes the chair to Briscoe, and Briscoe puts the chair in place! Briscoe uses the chair to FLY! Down goes the “Top Guys,” and the fans are thunderous! They put Dax in, Nick goes up, CROSSBODY! Cover, TWO! Dax survives but Nick kicks him to the corner. SHINING WIZARD, then Briscoe adds a LARIAT! Briscoe puts Dax up top, then crucifix lifts, REDNECK BOOGIE with Matt helping out! Cover, TWO!! Bryan Danielson welcomes us and the media, thanks them for being here, and explains this presser is for the PPV’s main event, the Texas Deathmatch for THE AEW World Championship. Bryan introduces first the challenger, the man who vows that if he loses this Sunday, he will never challenge for this title again, Hangman Adam Page. The Cowboy walks out and the press applauds. Hangman shakes Bryan’s hand before he takes his seat. And lastly, the reigning AEW World Champion, Maxwell Jacob Friedman. The Scumbag walks out, getting some applause as he takes his seat. Bryan asks if there are any questions from the press.
One reporter asks Hangman about MJF costing Jet Set Rodeo the AEW World Trios Championships last week. Going into Revolution, is Hangman just going for the belt? Or is this going to be revenge? Hangman says it isn’t just revenge, it is for the world title. This has always been about that, ever since 2019. Hangman knows MJF cost him those trios titles, but Hangman is taking what MJF holds most dear. MJF scoffs, and the second reporter asks that for the first-time viewers who are about to watch this Texas Deathmatch, what do they want those fans to leave with?
MJF says what he wants them to leave with is the fact that MJF is a real professional wrestler, and that having to do a match like this is both sickening and stupid. But MJF is also a winner, and that is what he’ll be after the match. He will arrive and leave with the AEW World Championship on March 15th. Hangman says MJF will be leaving in an ambulance, and the fans will be left with the most extreme thing they’ve ever seen stuck in their minds for the rest of their lives. The third reporter asks MJF about last year, how he faced Hangman multiple times, and lost those matches. How will he guarantee that this time around, he finally wins?
MJF says first off, “you tub of goo, you waste of space, if you want to ask a stupid question, you’re going to get a stupid answer.” MJF is feeling gracious, though. Those losses were flukes! He said it before, he’ll say it again, Hangman is assuredly a lucky shot. But MJF firmly believes that Hangman is all out of bullets, and he will never be able to challenge for the glorious “Triple B” ever again. MJF is not concerned about those last two matches, only about beating him this Sunday, and that will happen. The fourth reporter asks Hangman what lessons he’s taking from all his previous Texas Deathmatches and bringing into Revolution.
Hangman says he is the master of Texas Death. He won the world title in one, he defended the title in one, he has made careers in them, and he has also ended careers in them. Max stands not a snowball’s chance in Hell! Hangman brings every lesson he has ever learned in Texas Death, and is teaching them to MJF one drop of blood at a time. The fifth reporter brings up Hangman’s history of Texas Death, but also his history of them in California. Hangman defeated Moxley in on at Revolution 2023, but Full Gear was a loss to Swerve Strickland. And last year, as Hangman mentioned, he defeated MJF at Revolution 2025.
The question therefore is: Is this the convergence of Hangman’s AEW story? Hangman says yes. He has laid his entire future on the line just for this chance. People have compared Hangman and MJF for six years, not just their time in AEW but their entire careers up to this point. Finally, they finish this at Revolution. 2026 will just be a replay of last year, but a lot more bloody. MJF shrugs that off but Bryan says they have time for one last question. The last question is for Hangman: If he does not win on Sunday, who is he in AEW? MJF says that is a great question! Who IS Hangman Adam Page, really?
Hangman is hesitant to answer, but he does say that that will not happen. He will win the title back. MJF says this is lovely, because it is obvious he is not winning, and he’ll never be able to challenge for the world title ever again. MJF wants to do the “cowboy salute.” He has a staffer bring up two red Solo cups of beer, and they can say cheers. To Hangman never being world champion ever again! Hangman SMACKS the one beer out of MJF’s hand! So MJF SPLASHES Hangman with the other! And the brawl is on! They tear up the stage, fight into the back, and out to ringside! The fans finally cheer as Hangman fires hands!
MJF staggers, Hangman storms up, but MJF uses security as a shield! Down goes one poor rando, and MJF ROCKS Hangman! MJF throws hands on Hangman now, but Hangman hits back! Then Hangman TOSSES MJF over railing! Hangman puts MJF in the ring but MJF wants mercy! Security hurries out here, but the fans boo as they pull Hangman back! Hangman just throws hands on the security guards! The fans fire up again, but MJF sneaks the Dynamite Diamond Ring out! DYNAMITE DIAMOND- NO, Hangman gest under! Alabama Lift, and DEADEYE!! Hangman goes looking under the ring, and he finds a board covered in barbed wire!
The fans tell Hangman he’s sick, but this is just his appetizer for Revolution! Hangman drags MJF to the apron, aims down below, and he Alabama Lifts again! But MJF slips free! MJF runs away into the night, and he might run all the way from San Jose to Los Angeles! Hangman tells MJF that he better run for his life! But will Hangman’s life be the one ruined if he actually loses? Or will the Devil find a way to survive the City of Angels?
My Thoughts:
A great Dynamite as the go-home to Revolution, but that ending segment was very NOT AEW. For one, why do it backstage and not on the stage? The fans were booing and chanting stuff about it, they were not happy. But obviously, it turned into a brawl, and that was the fun part for the fans. MJF avoiding disaster tonight, I suppose that’s Hangman standing tall, which doesn’t bode well in go-home math. It would still be wild if Hangman lost and could never challenge for THE title again, when this is just year six of AEW and Hangman has his entire career still ahead. But at the same time, he could complete his AEW Grand Slam if he were “forced” to go for a midcard title.
Speaking of the midcard titles, what an awesome match from Fletcher VS Bailey. I personally would’ve used a time limit draw to save Kyle, but the Don Callis Family being Heels, cheating is a given. And it shows a great contrast to how things went in the tag match of Konosuke & Hechi VS Moxley & Claudio. Granted, Death Riders won, but Konosuke refusing to beat down Moxley with the rest of the Callis Family is some good stuff. I was hoping for a Don Callis Family Civil War, but it feels like Konosuke is just gonna be kicked out of the faction the old fashioned way. I’d still prefer the civil war, but hard to say who would join Konosuke’s side if Fletcher is all in on Protokada.
Great “standby” match from Brody and whoever that poor guy was, and of course Brody won. Swerve attacking Brody was good stuff, though, and Brody breaking that chain was awesome. But with Brody standing tall like that, feels like Swerve finds a way to win at Revolution. It might even be from cheating just to keep Brody strong in defeat. Great tag match from Darby & Cassidy VS Gabe & Finlay. Connors as the ace in the hole was a good move, good win for The Dogs. And I’m actually a little surprised I was right about Roddy helping Cassidy here. That’ll be a great Six Man Tag for Revolution, and I would think Darby, Cassidy & Roddy win.
Very good promo from Willow VS Persephone, and great TBS Championship from them. Great win for Willow, and the quick pin protects Perse in a way, too. Very good promo from the Babes of Wrath, and I’m surprised we’re just doing the double header for Willow like this. I feel like Willow retains the TBS title, but then Lena & Megan beat the Babes of Wrath for the tag titles. And then an awesome trios match, really wild stuff. Great table spots, and a strong win for the Heels. Ciampa is apparently also in the Blackjack Battle Royal, but I don’t think he’s winning that. As for FTR VS Bucks, maybe this means Bucks win to avenge their brother, but I guess we’ll wait and see.

AEW World Tag Team Championships: FTR w/ Stokely Hathaway VS The Rascalz!
Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood are always high off their own egos, but those egos cost them as they tried to rip Zachary Wentz & Dezmond Xavier for their extracurricular activities. The Rascalz are cashing in those golden tickets, will they turn them into a trip to Los Angeles? Or will the #TopGuys still meet the Young Bucks for Revolution?
The introductions are made, the belts are raised, and we see who lights it up in Tucson!
The teams sort out and Cash starts against Zach. The fans boo FTR as the two tie up, and Zach arm-drags Cash to a facelock. Cash gets free and goes to the ropes. The fans rally as Zach taunts Cash, and the two tie up again. Cash pulls hair, he tags Dax, but Zach slips away. The fans taunt Dax for being “BALD! BALD! BALD!” Dax frowns, circles with Zach, and they tie up. Dax hits a headlock takeover but Zach fights up. Zach powers up and out, Dax RUNS him over, but things keep moving. Zach drops down, hurdles, but Dax counters hip toss with hip toss! Zach UP KICKS, then arm-drags again, and the fans cheer the armlock.
Dax pulls hair now and puts Zach in the corner. The ref counts, Dax backs off, but he SLAPS Zach! The fans boo but Dax talks trash. So Zach SLAPS Dax! Dax bails out while the fans fire up! Cash checks on Dax, gets mad at Zach, but the ref starts the ring count. Dax storms up into the ring, Cash taunts fans, and Dez tags in. Dax and Dez circle, feel things out, and tie up. They’re in a deadlock, Dax puts Dez in the corner, and the ref counts. Dax stops, but then CHOPS! Dez sputters, Dax UPPERCUTS, then he stands Dez up again. Dez fires back with haymakers! The fans fire up for Dez, then he runs, but into an ELBOW!
The fans boo but Dax TOSSES Dez out. Dez tumbles, Dax argues with the ref, and BIG STOKE CHOKES DEZ! The fans boo and The Rascalz protest, but the ref misses it all! Stoke lets Dez go, FTR stands him up, but Dez fights back with forearms and elbows! The fans fire up, and Zach TORNILLOS out onto FTR! Stoke freaks out but the fans are loving “A E DUB! A E DUB!” for making this opener possible. Zach & Dez mug Dax n ow with forearms and CHOPS, and Dax THROWS a fan’s hat! He completely misses, but Dez SMACKS Dax off the steps! Dax flounders around again but Dez CHOPS him! Dax rolls into the ring, Dez covers, TWO!
Dez drags Dax up for a wrench, then he tags Zach. Zach goes up to DOUBLE STOMP Dax’s arm! The fans cheer while Zach covers, TWO! Zach clamps onto Dax and grinds the arm, but Dax pulls hair again. The ref counts, Zach ROCKS Dax and ELBOWS Cash on repeat! Dax KNEES low, headlocks, but Zach lifts! Cash tags in before the atomic drop! Cash storms in but Zach ROCKS Cash! Zach storms up on Dax and chases him out of the ring. Dax swings, Zach dodges, but Cash is there to CLOBBER Zach! The fans boo but FTR is all fired up, and Stoke gets a cheap shot in! The ref tells Stoke to back off while Collision goes picture in picture.
Zach taunts Myron Reed using The Rascalz’s own unique taunt. Cash then drags Zach up and THROWS him into railing! FTR taunt the fans, even as the fans give thumbs down. FTR drags Zach up and puts him in the ring. Cash stomps Zach down, taunts Dez with the classic middle finger, then he bumps Zach off buckles. FTR mugs Zach while the ref keeps Dez back. Cash then short arm LARIATS Zach down! Cover, TWO! Cash keeps Zach from Dez with a BIG back suplex! Cash soaks up heat as he looms over Zach, then he steps on Zach as he goes to the corner. Cash then clamps onto Zach with a chinbar.
Zach endures, fights to his feet, but Cash facelocks. Zach powers up but Cash UPPERCUTS him down! Cash flexes before he tags Dax. Dax drags Zach up just to BOOT him down! Dax clamps onto Zach with a chinlock and squeezes tight. Zach endures, fights up, and Collision returns to single picture. The fans taunt FTR while Zach ROCKS Dax, ELBOWS Cash, but then Dax kicks low! Dax reels Zach in, but Zach cradle counters! TWO, and Dax picks Zach up to keep him from Dez! Zach sunset flips it, TWO! Cash is in but Zach slips under! Zach kicks, Cash blocks, but the ENZIGIRI hits Dax! UP KICK for Cash!
The fans rally as Zach crawls, but FTR is in his way! Zach goes up and over Cash, under Dax, hot tag to Dez! The fans fire up as Dez rallies with forearms and elbows! Fast hands and a STUNNER for Dax! Then Dez dodges Cash to UPPERCUT, SUPERKICK, and whip! Cash reverses but Dez reverses back to CHOP, snapmare, and basement DROPKICK! The fans fire up for Dez as he then runs up on Dax. Dez whips, Dax reverses to CHOP, JAB, and LARIAT! Both men are down and the fans boo Dax. Dax drags Dez up while Cash joins in. FTR double whips, but Dez sunset flips! Cash keeps Dax up, but Zach is back to sunset flip him, too! TWO!!
DOUBLE SUPERKICKS send FTR out! Then The Rascalz DOUBLE DIVE! Down goes FTR and the fans are fired up again! Stoke is freaking out again but Dez gets Dax in the ring. Dez hurries to the corner, climbs up, and tag to Zach, FROG SPLASH! Then SWANTON BOMB! Cover, TWO!! Dax survives and Tucson is shocked! The fans rally as The Rascalz put Dax up top. Dez climbs a corner, Zach joins Dax, but Dax slips under! Dax shoves Zach down, Cash shoves Dez, but Dez lands on his feet. Dez builds speed, but Cash jumps the dive! Now Cash DIVES and takes Dez out! They hit the desk, and Dax gives Zach a SUPER BACK SUPLEX!! Cover, TWO!!
The fans are thunderous but Stokely is furious as The Rascalz survive! Tucson is all behind The Rascalz as the standing count climbs. Both men go forehead to forehead as they stand, then forearm for forearm back and forth! Dax CHOPS, Zach CHOPS, repeat! The fans fire up as Zach CHOPS, CHOPS, CHOPS! Zach is all fired up, but Dax ducks! Cash is there but Zach BOOTS him down! Zach flips up and over, then cradles Dax, TWO!! Dax escapes in time and “This is Awesome!” Dax waistlocks, Zach fights the lift, but here comes Cash! Zach BACKDROPS Cash away! Dez tags in, Zach switches, SUPERKICK GERMAN SUPLEX! Then jackknife bridge, TWO!!
Dax survives again and The Rascalz are frustrated. But Zach says to keep going, and Dez tags him in. They have Dax in place for HOT FIRE FLAME but onto knees! Cash YANKS Dez out, Dax cradles Zach, TWO! FTR regroups and they sit Zach up. Wait, what?! F T R TRIGGER!! Cash then sets up on the apron and Dax scoops Zach! But Dez YANKS Cash down, and Zach victory rolls Dax! TWO!! No “Jerry Lynn Driver” from FTR, but Zach dodges Dax! Dax COLLIDES with Dez, Zach rolls Dax, TWO!!! Dax escapes but Zach fires SLAP after SLAP, then ENZIGIRI! Zach fires up, runs, but Cash is there! Handspring into the SHATTER MACHINE!! Cover, FTR wins1

The Top Guys survive Dez & Zach, but they still sent another message to The Young Bucks. FTR copied their moves, but will they still best The Bucks in LA? Or will it be reign number four for Matt & Nick Jackson?
As FTR goes up the ramp, MARK BRISCOE appears! The fans cheer as the Sussex County Chicken is here, planning on joining commentary for what’s next. Briscoe shows respect to his old rivals, and FTR continues on their way out. Will Briscoe have a good time watching The Psycho Killer and Red Death battle it out?
Hook and Shibata commandeer another camera.
The Opps are in Tucson, and the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil says they’re recruiting. Just not whoever this rando is, laters. But then Anthony Bowens calls out to Hook. Bowens steps in and says he thought hard on what Hook said last week. Bowens has come to the conclusion that he can be a killer in the ring. All Hook has to do is let him show you. Yeah? Hell yeah! So Bowens wants to show him? Grab the camera from Shibata. W-What does that mean? Hook says trust him, take the camera. Bowens indeed takes the camera and Shibata now walks with Hook. Hook asks another rando if he’s a wrestler. The guy says yeah.
Hook asks if the guy wants to be in Opps. Well, sure! Then quick test, how do you get out of this? REDRUM! The guy cannot escape, and the poor guy is out like a light. Oh, c-cool, can Bowens give the camera back to Shibata now or…? Hook says nah, just keep following them. Is the Pride of Professional Wrestling going to be alright selling out just to get in The Opps?

The Sicilian Psycho wants after Kyle Fletcher and that TNT Championship, but the same can be said for the Dragonslayer. These former TNT Champions battle it out, who will take one step closer to The Protostar?
The bell rings and the fans already cheer Ciampa on. Ciampa and Garcia stare down, step up, then tie up. They’re in a deadlock as they go around, adn Ciampa awistlocks for the takedown. Garcia scrambles to the ROPEBREAK, and Ciampa lets go. The fans boo as Garcia scrambles to the apron, but Ciampa holds the ropes open. The fans cheer but Garcia hops down to go around the way and let himself in. Ciampa and Garcia go again, and now Garcia waistlocks. Ciampa wrenches out to wristlock, and he keeps Garcia from the ropes. Garcia rolls, rolls, and rolls, then wags his finger as he breaks free. Garcia shoves Ciampa but the fans boo.
Garcia eggs Ciampa on, so Ciampa smirks and BOOTS him! Ciampa whips Garcia to a corner, then runs in and CHOPS! Ciampa whips corner to corner and CHOPS again! Ciampa then climbs up to rain down fists! The fans cheer and count along as Ciampa goes to nine, winds up, and mocks the Garcia dance! The fans cheer while Garcia seethes! Garcia runs up, but Ciampa ducks, ripcords, and ROCKS Garcia! Then a turn and NECKBREAKER! The fans cheer while Garcia goes to the apron. Ciampa drags Garcia up, but Garcia fights the lift. Garcia has a leg and DRAPING DRAGON SCREWS Ciampa down! The fans boo, but Garcia drags Ciampa to a corner.
Garcia SLAMS Ciampa’s leg against the post! And SLAMS it again! Garcia flexes while the fans boo, and Collision goes picture in picture.
Ciampa clutches his leg but Garcia comes back to step on him! The ref reprimands but Garcia soaks up heat as he digs his boots in. Garcia steps off at 4, then steps into the ring. Garcia drags Ciampa in and covers, TWO! Ciampa toughs it out, but Garcia ties the legs up. Garcia then grabs at the arms but Ciampa resists. Garcia says fine, and STOMPS the legs! Ciampa writhes again, going to a corner, but Garcia is after Ciampa by stepping on him again. The ref counts, Garcia steps off at 4, and Ciampa goes to the outside. Garcia pursues, and whips him into the barriers! Garcia props Ciampa’s leg up on barriers, then gets space.
Garcia runs in, but Ciampa’s up to CHOP him! Then CHOP again! And CHOP again! But Garcia dropkicks the legs out! Ciampa hobbles and falls while Collision goes to break.
Collision returns to single picture and Garcia runs in at the corner, but into an ELBOW! Garcia comes back, he blocks the boot, and he DROPKICKS the leg! Garcia goes up and reels Ciampa in for a HANGING SLEEPER! The ref counts, the fans boo, but Garcia lets go at 4 to flex. Garcia aims, MISSILE- JUMP KNEE from Ciampa! The fans cheer as both men fall down! The fans rally up as both men rise up, and Briscoe says that’s how Ciampa does, Ciampa looks for the opening, then lays the wood in. As such, Ciampa CHOPS! And CHOPS! And whips, but Garcia reverses. Ciampa ducks ‘n’ dodges to LEAPING LARIAT!
The fans fire up while Ciampa TOSSES Garcia to the apron! Then KNEES him to the floor! Garcia staggers away but Ciampa is right on him. Briscoe likes it as Ciampa SMACKS Garcia off the desk! And SMACKS him again, and again! Then a bonus! Ciampa puts Garcia in, he high-fives Briscoe, then goes back to the ring. Ciampa drags Garcia up, but Garcia feints a punch to kick the leg! Garcia runs, but into an ELBOW! Ciampa reels Garcia in, but the bad leg makes it hard to lift. Garcia gets that leg, but Ciampa fires CHOPS and SLAPS! Garcia SLAPS and CHOPS back, then DRAGON SCREWS! Garcia snarls as he holds onto the leg.
The fans boo as Garcia steps over for the HALF CRAB! Ciampa endures, even as Garcia sits deep! Ciampa fights to turn over, then he kicks away at Garcia. Garcia turns Ciampa back over, STF! The fans boo but Garcia just thrashes Ciampa. But Ciampa BITES Garcia’s hand! Garcia lets Ciampa go, but runs in for the SHOTGUN! Ciampa fall into the corner but Garcia stands him up. Garcia rains down fists, goes to nine, then puts up his dukes… to tell fans to shut up! But Ciampa hits PROJECT CIAMPA!! Cover, TWO!! Garcia survives but Ciampa’s leg hurts too much for him to be upset. Garcia goes out, Ciampa pursues, but Garcia SWEEPS the leg!
Garcia tells Briscoe that Briscoe been talking s*it on Garcia since he lost the TNT title, and then he pie faces Briscoe! Garcia goes back to Ciampa, but Ciampa rolls him up! TWO, and Ciampa CHOPS! Ciampa whips, Garcia reverses, and Briscoe is there on the apron! Ciampa and Briscoe COLLIDE! Garcia trips Ciampa to a jackknife bridge, AND GARCIA WINS!!
Winner: Daniel Garcia, by pinfall
Garcia runs off to get away from Briscoe, but he masterfully used Briscoe and Ciampa against each other! Briscoe is upset, as is Ciampa, and they argue it out. Briscoe gets Ciampa to understand it was an accident, that was all Garcia. Briscoe asks for a handshake, and Ciampa slaps it away! The fans boo but Briscoe gets Ciampa is upset, so he’ll let it slide. Briscoe leaves, saying Ciampa just needs to cool down before he makes a mistake. Wait, FTR storms out here now? Dax told Ciampa on Wednesday that they’d see him again, and now is as good a time as any. The fans boo as Dax & Cash step into the ring, but Briscoe slides in! The fans cheer as Briscoe stands with Ciampa!
FTR now argues with Briscoe, this wasn’t his concern. Briscoe disagrees, he doesn’t want FTR thinking they can intimidate someone like that. Briscoe and Ciampa leave together, Ciampa patting Briscoe on the back for the help there. But then Ciampa says, “This is MY moment!” And he THROWS Briscoe into the LED tron! The fans freak out as Ciampa beats Briscoe down! Ciampa then takes off the kneepad and runs up, PSYCHO KNEE!! The fans boo as Ciampa wipes his butt with Briscoe’s bandana! FTR nods and applauds as their “old friend” shows his true self. Ciampa’s shadow knows his story, but is FTR now his future?
BREAKING NEWS for Revolution: Zero Hour!
For the first time ever, AEW will be bringing their PPV preshow to HBO Max, and it streams free! On top of that, there will be a 21-Man Blackjack Battle Royale! The winner will receive a shot at the AEW National Championship! Who will be the last one standing to challenge the One & Only?

Before The Realest battles the King of Death to prove who’s really the Most Dangerous Man in AEW, he wants to send a message. Not just to Brody King, but to Brody’s amigo, Bandido! Will Swerve use Bandido’s brother to hurt both parts of #Brodido? Or will Gravity bring down Swerve’s House?
The bell rings, the fans rally for “Whose House?” “SWERVE’S HOUSE!” Swerve and Gravity tie up, Swerve cording holds, then he throws Gravity down for a wristlock. Swerve drags Gravity up, spins him, then snapmares for a KICK to the back! Gravity writhes while the fans are torn, but Swerve storms up to ROCK Gravity. Gravity fires back, but Swerve KNEES him low. Swerve whips Gravity to ropes, but Gravity ducks ‘n’ dodges, only to get a HOTSHOT on the ropes, and a BOOT to the face! The fans are still torn but Swerve stalks Gravity to a corner. Gravity BOOTS back, but Swerve runs back in, only for Gravity to ELBOW him!
Gravity goes up and FLYING ARM-DRAGS! Then he rolls Swerve to whip, but Swerve reverses and CLOBBERS him! Swerve drags Gravity up, but Gravity BACKDROPS! Swerve sunset flips, Gravity rolls through to jump over and KICK! The fans cheer Gravity but Swerve just frowns. Gravity spacewalks, but then he dodges Swerve to waistlock. Gravity gets the arms for CATTLE MUTILATION, then a turnover to a ghost pin! TWO, but Gravity TOSSES Swerve out! Gravity builds speed but has to slide under Swerve as he goes to the apron. Swerve breaks free of the sunset flip to APRON DOUBLE STOMP! The fans are torn while Gravity staggers.
Swerve aims and he PENALTY KICKS Gravity down! The fans rally as Swerve whips and sends Gravity into the steel steps! Swerve then CLAWS at the mask! The fans boo, the ref reprimands, but Swerve drags Gravity up to the apron to smack him off buckles! Swerve dribbles Gravity’s head, then pushes him into the ring. Swerve goes up the corner, takes aim, and he soaks up the cheers and jeers before the KILL STOMPS! The fans fire up as Swerve goes to the other corner, and HOUSE CALL!! Cover, Swerve wins!

The title of Most Dangerous Man might be up for grabs, but Swerve certainly put Gravity away with ease. Will he get much more of a fight out of Brody King in LA?

Jet knows there will be other opportunities for him in the future. He just can’t help but feel like he let his team down when he lost the AEW World Trios Championships for them. Speedball says no, they lost as a team. And while they appreciate Hangman’s help, Hangman’s situation with MJF did complicate things.
But it’s all good, because at Revolution, JetSpeed gets to team with lucha libre legend, MISTICO! They will take back those trios titles from the Don Callis Family! Speaking of title matches, Bailey gets his shot at the TNT Championship this Wednesday, is Bailey prepared for that? Bailey says he doesn’t feel prepared, he IS prepared. Konosuke drags Claudio up again, but Claudio SLAMS the bad arm off the buckle! Then he bends the arm against the crossbar! The ref reprimands, the fans boo, but Marina says to just break the arm! Claudio stops at 4, and he leans against the ropes while Konosuke falls away. Claudio is in control as Collision goes picture in picture.
Claudio storms into the ring and he brings Konosuke up by the bad arm. Konosuke fires shots with the good arm, but Claudio RAMS the bad arm! Claudio stomps Konosuke, brings him out to the apron, then SLAMS the arm on the apron! Konosuke writhes but then Claudio BOOTS him! Konosuke flounders on the apron but Claudio steps back inside the ring. Claudio soaks up heat before he stomps Konosuke again. Claudio stands on Konosuke but the ref counts because they’re in the ropes. Claudio snapmares Konosuke to center, then clamps onto the arm with a top wristlock. Konosuke endures while the fans rally up.
Konosuke fights up, fires body shots, but Claudio THROWS him down! Konosuke endures as Claudio again pushes on the arm. Konosuke fights up, fires forearms, but Claudio shoves him and picks him up for the atomic drop! Then the short arm LARIAT! And an ELBOW DROP on the arm! Cover, TWO, but Claudio clamps right back on with the top wristlock! Konosuke endures all over again while Collision returns to single picture. Konosuke fights up and fires hands! Claudio ROCKS Konosuke back, and ROCKS him again! And UPPERCUTS! Claudio runs, but Konosuke BOOTS him! The fans fire up as Konosuke reels Claudio in.
Konosuke suplexes but Claudio fights it. Claudio wrenches through to hit a modified STO! Then short arm scissor! Konosuke endures, the fans rally up, and Konosuke rolls to a cover, TWO! Both men stand, Claudio ducks ‘n’ dodges, and springboards, but Konosuke ALPHA ELBOWS Claudio outta the sky! The fans fire up while both men are down! Claudio and Konosuke rise as the fans rally! Konosuke ROCKS Claudio again and again, then whips. Claudio reverses, but Konosuke ducks ‘n’ dodges to TAKESHITA LINE! The fans fire up as Konosuke then clinches and EXPLODERS! The fans fire up again while Konosuke rises up.
Konosuke aims at Claudio, WAGAMAMA- NO! Claudio blocks the knee to HEADBUTT, then GIANT SWING! The fans fire up as Claudio goes for five, then shifts into the STF! Wait, with an over-the-shoulder modification! Konosuke endures as Claudio tortures that arm from elbow to fingers! The fans rally harder and harder, Konosuke floats to a cover, TWO! Claudio RAMS the arm, RAMS it again, then RAMS Konosuke again! But Konosuke ROCKS Claudio! Claudio RAMS, Konosuke ROCKS, repeat! They go shot for shot, but then Claudio RAMS again and again! But Konosuke reels him in, BLUE THUNDER BOMB!! Cover, TWO!!
Even Moxley is surprised by all that! The fans are thunderous as Konosuke powers up and waits on Claudio. Claudio rises up, ALPHA ELBOW!! Konosuke then reels Claudio in, but Claudio POP-UP UPPERCUTS!! Claudio falls on the cover, TWO?!?! Konosuke survives what is normally a knockout shot! Moxley and Marina both shout for Claudio to stay on Konosuke. “This is Awesome!” as Claudio goes outside the ring. Claudio takes Justin Roberts’ chair!? The fans boo and the ref reprimands, but Claudio TOSSES the chair into the ring! And then he tosses another chair! The ref still warns Claudio, but Claudio just brings his CMLL World Heavyweight title now.
The fans boo as Claudio sneaks in with the belt, but HECHICERO snatches it from Claudio! The fans cheer as Hechi makes sure Claudio doesn’t cheat! And then Konosuke FLIES out onto Claudio! The fans fire up with Konosuke, and he hurries to get Claudio in! Konosuke then takes aim, WAGAMAMA KNEE!!! Cover, TWO?!?! Claudio survives and shocks everyone! Moxley says Claudio is truly a terminator! But Konosuke has a trump card as he takes down the kneepads! BARE BONES- UPPERCUT! ARM WRINGER! Claudio then reels Konosuke in, but Konosuke BACKDROPS free! Claudio lands out, and UPPERCUTS the arm! And again! And again!
Claudio spins Konosuke to LARIAT, but Konosuke stays up! Konosuke ALPHA ELBOWS again!! Konosuke and Claudio both wobble, Konosuke fires another forearm, but Claudio UPPERCUTS again! Claudio huffs ‘n’ puffs and UPPERCUTS again! Konosuke leans on Claudio, so Claudio UPPERCUTS again and again and again, form all sides! Then he tucks Konosuke in, RICOLA- RANA!! But Claudio sunset flips it, only for Konosuke to roll through! BARE BONES WAGAMAMA KNEE!!! Then the RAGING FIRE!!! Cover, KONOSUKE WINS!!
Winner: Konosuke Takeshita, by pinfall
Konosuke wins this heated rematch months in the making, and he makes sure Moxley understands what that means! Moxley steps to Konosuke, they both talk some trash, but then Hechi CLOBBERS Moxley! Konosuke stops Hechi from there, saying he doesn’t need it. Hechi asks if Konosuke is sure about that, and then Moxley fires back! Moxley fires forearms on Hechi, on Konosuke, then Claudio joins in! The brawl is 2v2, but then Konosuke sends Moxley into railing! Konosuke stomps a mudhole! Hechi and Claudio brawl on the other end, but refs rush out here! They try to stop this, but there’s no stopping Death Riders VS Don Callis Family!
Fans want to “LET THEM FIGHT!” and fighting is what happens! Collision has used up all the overrun, they gotta go off the air! But will this fighting go all the way to San Jose?
My Thoughts:
A great Collision here, though still with some clunky things going towards Revolution. Awesome opening match with FTR VS Rascalz, but as I said on Dynamite, Rascalz weren’t winning, the Revolution match was going to stay FTR VS Bucks. Good segue from that to Ciampa VS Garcia with Briscoe on commentary, but the entire set-up for the turn seemed odd in retrospect. Why turn Ciampa so soon? Or did they just want an excuse to do the Six Man Tag for the go-home? The Six Man Tag will still be great, and Ciampa VS Briscoe as a feud will still be great, but it feels like another pacing problem from Tony Khan.
Something else that was clunky tonight was how we got to #MegaKross VS Love Bombs. The promo where Megan & Lena attack Willow & Harley was half-baked. Why could we hear security like just off to the side if they weren’t going to get in there for like a good minute? I get with EVE Wrestling holding Wrestling Queendom right now, Willow & Harley could only stay for a moment before they go right back to the UK. But they could’ve still figured out better framing on this promo. I suppose that’s what “long term booking” would entail, or TK having others helping manage this stuff. Definitely the latter.
As for Megan & Lena VS Love Bombs, that was a very good match for the first time Megan & Lena teamed on TV. I should’ve expected Marina would interfere, and we got a good promo from Toni to follow. Toni VS Marina will be great stuff, and as Toni said herself, this could propel her back to the world title. Or on the flipside, it’ll send Marina after that title. It all depends on how the world title match goes. Kris had a good promo to issue the challenge, and Thekla had a good promo in response, but it seems silly that Thekla first says no, but then convinces herself that she should say yes. Either way, two outta three falls will be a great blowoff.
Swerve putting Gravity away pretty handedly was good, but I expected him to “go too far” at some point and bring out Brodido. We get a good promo from Swerve with JetSpeed, and the news of Mistico & JetSpeed VS Okada, Fletcher & Davis is great. That trios title match will be great, but I can’t be sure the odds of JetSpeed winning that. I wouldn’t mind if The Rascalz went after the trios titles afterward so that Myron Reed gets more in-ring time. As for Swerve’s words to Knight, I wonder if Knight leaves JetSpeed to join this new Embassy that Nana’s towels keep teasing. Knight could benefit from that change, allowing him to go for singles titles.
As I’ve said before, I’m not a fan of the kayfabe prize money matches, because they never add anything into kayfabe afterward. That said, this Fatal 4 Way tag was a great match, a great showing from all the teams, and a great win for Private Party. If any team is going to spend the kayfabe money, it’ll be Private Party so that they can throw a massive party. And that better be their promo for either next week’s Dynamite or even the go-home Collision. And depending on who wins the tag titles for Revolution, I would hope Private Party comes back around to challenge for those titles for Dynasty. Though with Private Party as Faces, feels like FTR will be that team…
The Dogs didn’t just get a great squash match, they annihilated those guys. If Darby & Cassidy are to take on The Dogs, they’re gonna need a third man. With Briscoe busy with Ciampa and Ishii out with a bad neck, either Roddy turns back to being Conglomeration after all, or Hologram is back from injury. I haven’t heard word about the latter, or even Kyle O’Reilly for that matter, so they mighty have no choice but to un-turn Roddy. Or they just keep at 2v2 and the odd Dog out is the cornerman that screws Darby & Cassidy over. But they still haven’t even let Finlay talk yet, so I think we need to hear from The Savage King so AEW-only fans understand why he’s a big deal.
Konosuke VS Claudio was an awesome main event, as we knew it would, because Claudio and Konosuke are on that level where they just don’t have bad matches. I did appreciate Hechi being the one to counter Claudio trying to cheat, that’s clearly a CMLL World Heavyweight Championship match in the making. Great win for Konosuke to have momentum going towards Revolution, and great brawl to close out the show like that. We might even get a tag match for the go-home out of this. Moxley VS Konosuke is still going to be awesome, who knows which way it goes.
