Following reports that WWE has been getting much more aggressive in their dealings with outside talent while attempting to sign them (check that story out here), a familiar face for Impact Wrestling looks as if he’ll be contractually available soon.
Former Impact World Champion Eli Drake’s deal with Anthem is set to expire within the next few days and at this time it’s not known where he will wind up. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Drake is currently in talks to remain with Impact, but no agreement on a new contract has been reached. There’s no word on if there would be interest from WWE, who Drake previously worked for under a developmental deal before being released in 2014.
The 35-year old, 15-year veteran is also a former Impact Global Champion, Tag Team Champion and King Of The Mountain Champion. He’s also worked for Heartland Wrestling Association (where he got his start), Empire Wrestling Federation, Pro Wrestling Revolution and Championship Wrestling From Hollywood where he was an NWA Heritage Tag Champion with Brian Cage.
