As was noted, IMPACT Wrestling’s Rich Swann competed last Thursday night for Major League Wrestling at Battle Riot in Queens, New York, taking part in a tag team match alongside ACH against The Hart Foundation (Teddy Hart and Davey Boy Smith Jr. accompanied by Brian Pillman Jr). Swann was injured during the match, suffering what was believed to be a “bad concussion” (read about that here) and putting his status for tonight’s Slammiversary pay-per-view in question.
While it’s still unknown when exactly Rich was injured, PWInsider is reporting Swann has now been removed from tonight’s scheduled Fatal 4-Way which would have seen him take on Johnny Impact, Taiji Ishimori and Rey Fenix. At this time, Swann is not in Toronto for the show and is resting at home in Florida.
No replacement has been named as of yet, however it was also noted that the plan as of yesterday was for Petey Williams to be the man taking Swann’s spot. It’s also possible the bout could be switched to a Triple Threat instead, however that seems less likely.
