On wrestling in different countries, how they compare/how to adapt: Well, you just have to assimilate without losing your style of wrestling. Whenever I can, I like to train there and see how they do things there and see if I can incorporate that in my arsenal. And that’s what I’ve been doing the last couple years, and I like it. I like the way that I wrestle and I like the way that I can work with pretty much anybody.

What to expect from Lucha Underground: This season is completely nuts! You guys are going to see things that you are not expecting to see. So, you gotta watch it! I can’t say anything, but, your Kobra Moon is on FIRE!

Other promotions she’ll be wrestling at..WOW, ROH: I just did my debut in ROH this last weekend and it was AMAZING! I had such a great time, I feel like I belong, and, again, it was one of my dreams to work in ROH and when the opportunity was given to me I was just really happy! I just hope that is wasn’t one time, and one time only. I hope this follows more bookings with them. I want to go back to Japan if possible, and do a small tour in Europe with bigger companies than last time. Maybe work for AAA if the opportunity comes. So, it’s just like, the world is my playground! I just have to knock on the door and see who gives me a chance, you know?

Top five people you want to wrestle: Sarah Stock (WWE), she is one of my main motivations as woman wrestler. She is so good! … Sarah Amato [Sara Del Rey] actually went to APW, that’s the place where I started wrestling, so for me that is another person that I follow her footsteps…I wanna wrestle Deonna Purrazzo…I’ve seen her multiple times, she’s really cool…I wanna wrestle Johnny Mundo one-on-one one day…

Thunder Rosa’s thoughts on Shayna Baszler vs Nikki Cross: I am biased, I actually like both. I actually lived with Nikki Cross in Japan so she’s my girl and uh I’m so happy for her success, you know, and the same with Shayna, both of them are really down to earth and the fact that they’re being able to showcase their different styles is good. There was a LOT of criticism online and I went online because like I said I’m really happy for both of them — I know them — and it’s just REALLY hard to read some of the comments that people are making you know because it’s so hard to entertain and on top of that try to tell a story. You know so I am just loving what Nikki is doing with her character, that they’re allowing her to be so crazy, they’re allowing her to be SO different from all the other girls on the roster. So, I’m SO happy for them.

Fave moment on Lucha so far: One thing that I thought it was very empowering, believe it or not, was when I was dragging Drago every show. Because…I’m in power and I’m dragging this man who like takes the shames and he does everything for me you know? You don’t get to see those kinds of characters in the show. And then another one was when they created the set and I saw the big Kobra and I had my throne and my dress and I look like a queen and I’m like, ‘Wow, this is real!’ Just to be a part of that. And last one, was this season when I saw the poster, I cried. I seriously cried. It’s such a moving moment because I come from nothing, you know? I’m the third of four girls and we lived in a small house and it’s a long story but just to be able to show that to my parents and say, ‘Hey guys, this is me! I’m on TV! My dad is so proud, my family is so proud, and that just goes to show that I work really hard and people believe in me and they believe in this character.

Mitchell’s AEW Continental Classic Update! (11/27/23)

What a start to the tournament!

Did your picks win points?

The AEW Continental Classic is underway, with almost everyone competing. Check in here if you haven’t seen the winners and losers of week 1!

Here are your Gold League standings!

  • Jon Moxley: 1-0, 3 points
  • Swerve Strickland: 1-0, 3 points
  • Jay White: 1-0, 3 points
  • Rush: 0-1, 0 points
  • Mark Briscoe: 0-1, 0 points.
  • Jay Lethal: 0-1, 0 points

Here are your Blue League standings!

  • Brody King: 1-0, 3 points
  • Claudio Castagnoli: 1-0, 3 points
  • Daniel Garcia: 0-1, 0 points
  • Eddie Kingston: 0-1, 0 points
  • Bryan Danielson: Yet to Compete
  • Andrade El Idolo: Yet to Compete

My Thoughts:

Nothing too crazy, nothing too wild, this tournament only just got started. The only disappointing point is that they could not get Bryan “cleared to compete” Saturday night. Not sure how much of that is shoot given the bad eye, but this was kinda the problem of wanting him in the tournament over tons of other choices. Bryan wants to face Okada for WrestleKingdom 18, how is Bryan supposed to do that at his best if he’s also gonna be in a round robin, doing five top level matches in about as many weeks? And it takes away from Andrade being able to do something. Also a little surprised we didn’t even hear from Andrade on Saturday.

Now as we heard on Saturday, round two’s matches are set. Gold League will see Mark Briscoe VS Rush, White VS Swerve, and of course, Moxley VS Lethal. Nice variety there, a couple 0-1 guys facing off, as well as two 1-0 guys, and then 1-0 VS 0-1. No offense to Lethal, but he feels like an 0-2 going up against Moxley. Hard to call the other ones but that’s the fun of it. Meanwhile, Blue League sees Brody VS Claudio in a showdown to be 2-0, then Bryan and Andrade finally jump in, Bryan against Eddie and Andrade against Garcia. Sadly, feels like Eddie and Garcia are going 0-2, no way Tony Khan is booking Bryan and Andrade to lose their first shots.

In fact, that could be half the reason they did wait on those two, that’s almost too good for just a first round opener. But I still would’ve done it, same as NJPW does stuff like that for round robins, which this is all modeled after anyway.
