IMPACT News: Non-Spoiler Preview For Tonight’s IMPACT Wrestling (8/9/18)

Published

on

Last week’s episode of IMPACT featured The Lucha Brothers defeating oVe in the main event and also featured a World Title match between Austin Aries and Dustin Cameron.

Tonight’s episode also features another World Title match and the return of Alisha Edwards to in-ring action.

Here is what’s happening on tonight’s episode:

  • Austin Aries vs. Eddie Edwards (IMPACT World Championship)

The Thursday after Slammiversary Austin Aries issued an open challenge to anyone to challenge him for the world championship. Eddie Edsards wol uld accept the challenge. Tonight Eddie looks to channel his craziness and capture the world championship for the second time. Will we see a new world champion tonight?

  • Pentagon Jr. vs. Matt Sydal

Pentagon Jr is coming off a heated rivalry with Sami Callihan and oVe. Just last week he and his lucha brother Fenix defeated oVe in a tag team main event. Sydal is coming off losing his X-Division championship at Slammiversary to Brian Cage and the rematch a week later. Sydal now is questioning himself and looks to bounce back with a victory over Pentagon.

  • The Desi Hit Squad vs. Taiji Ishimori & Petey Williams

Two weeks ago Petey Williams and Taji Ishimori went one on one with Ishimori pricking up the win. Kt was after the match that The Desi Hit Squad attacked them from behind so tonight Ishimori and Williams will be looking for revenge.

  • Alisha Edwards vs. Tessa Blanchard

We have not seen Alisha on IMPACT TV in some time now. The last time we saw her she was trying to reason with Eddie in the woods after his fight with Callihan. Last week she announced that she would be returning to action for IMPACT. Tonight she makes her return to the ring and will be taking on the buzzsaw known as Tessa Blanchard.

All this and more will be on tap for tonight’s show. Don’t forget to tune in to my live report during the show beginning at the top of the show.

WWE News: Updated Card For TLC Following Additions/Changes This Week

Published

TLC Orton Rey
The updated card for Sunday’s WWE TLC!

Now that this week’s editions of Monday Night RAW, SmackDown Live and the Mixed Match Challenge are officially in the books, the WWE Universe turns its attention to Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view.

There were some alterations and additions to the card at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, but not the ones some fans expected with Braun Strowman still recovering from surgery and Finn Balor off of the road due to an illness (read that story here). On RAW, we learned that the Elias vs. Bobby Lashley bout will now be a Ladder Match where a guitar will be hanging above the ring and the first main to gain possession can utilize it (see the announcement here).

Then yesterday, it was announced that Buddy Murphy would defend his Cruiserweight Title against Cedric Alexander (find that here) and on SmackDown Live last night, it was revealed that Randy Orton would take on Rey Mysterio in a Chairs Match (check that out here). Plus, the Finals of the Mixed Match Challenge are now set after Carmella and R-Truth, as well as Alicia Fox and Jinder Mahal solidified their spots (read the breakdown with Mitchell’s Mixed Match Challenge Report).

Here’s a look at the updated lineup for TLC, which you can catch Sunday live on pay-per-view and the WWE Network (Mixed Match Challenge Finals will also live stream on Facebook Watch) beginning at 7PM EST with the Kickoff starting at 6PM. At this time, it’s not known what will be on the Kickoff, however it’s speculated one or two matches will be moved there instead of any new ones being announced. Of course, that’s not confirmed:

Tables, Ladders & Chairs for the SmackDown Women’s Championship
(C) Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka

NXT 12-12-18
Spoiler-free previews for tonight’s NXT and 205 Live!

After a couple of weeks worth of WWE’s NXT were held in San Jose and Los Angeles, California, last week the brand returned back to its home at Full Sail University as the final episodes of the year have already been taped.

Although tonight’s episode of WWE NXT was previously recorded at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida, we at The Chairshot realize not everyone likes a spoiler. With that in mind, here’s a non-spoiler preview of what’s happening on NXT, which airs at 8PM EST on the WWE Network:

  • NXT General Manager William Regal has hand-picked Ricochet’s challenger for the NXT North American Title
  • EC3 seeks revenge when he takes on The Undisputed Era’s Bobby Fish
  • What’s going through Aleister Black & Johnny Gargano’s minds ahead of their Steel Cage Match?
  • Someone will qualify for the NXT Women’s Title #1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way when Mia Yim meets Reina Gonzalez
  • Following a vicious attack two weeks ago, The Mighty will face-off with Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch in tag action

Preceding NXT will be the high-flying action of the Cruiserweights at 7PM for 205 Live. While it was taped last night prior to SmackDown Live, here’s a non-spoiler preview for tonight’s episode of the purple brand:

  • Before defending his title at TLC, Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy goes one-on-one with Noam Dar
  • Cedric Alexander looks to send a message to Buddy Murphy through his friends when he battles ‘The Premier Athlete’ Tony Nese
