Previously on WOW…

The Born Legend, Tessa Blanchard, continues to talk smack to Santana Garrett. She vows the title will be hers. But she also made sure no one else would take it from Santana before her when she went after Papa Keny G! It was all to distract Santana from her match with Jungle Grrrl, and it worked! Santana is furious and wants a match with Tessa, but WOW matchmaker David McLane insists Tessa earn it. Tessa beat the Beverly Hills Babe, Amber O’Neal, and demanded her shot right then and there. Santana came out, to give Tessa some payback! The third-generation Woman of Wrestling will give us an exclusive interview, but what will she have to say about Santana, the title, and her own actions?

Meanwhile, in the Lioness’s Den.

WOW talent and aspiring rap artist is in the studio working on her bars, Faith Lioness is the youngest member of the roster at just 19 years old. She’s been dancing and rapping since she was little as an outlet for her natural spastic energy. Faith raps on her own theme song, “We Just Flex”, and expresses her true self through it all. She knew she wasn’t going to be a college graduate, so she shifted her focus to wrestling and other martial arts. Faith got her black belt in Taekwondo at 17, and then shifted to pro-wrestling. Being the Lioness is about overcoming and attacking, but also about the hunger for more. Will the Lioness make all the other Women of Wrestling her prey?

The Beast VS Faith the Lioness!

The Lioness may want to be the Queen of the Jungle, but she’s got an Alpha Female to deal with right out of the gate! Will Faith be able to flex on The Beast? Or will her pride be broken in her AXS TV debut?

Fans are fired up after Faith’s live performance of her theme, but The Beast is just angry. The bell rings and Beast goes right at Faith! They tie up fast and hard and Faith gets a wristlock. Faith shifts to a headlock takeover but Beast powers out with a headscissor. Beast squeezes but Faith pops out. The two go again and Faith gets another headlock takeover! Beast gets up and powers out, and the two collide with shoulders. To everyone’s surprise, Faith doesn’t fall. Faith gets serious now and she builds up speed. She dodges and whips Beast, but Beast blasts her down! Beast drags Lioness up by her mane and puts on a headlock. Faith tries to power out but Beast holds on. Faith manages to get free but Beast runs her over! But then Faith kips up! Beast can’t believe it!

Things speed up now and Beast SPEARS Faith! Fans are divided between cheers and jeers as Beast drags Faith up again. Beast throws haymakers then whips, and she scoops Faith in a powerslam! Cover, TWO! Faith survives but Beast kicks her around now. Beast has Faith in a corner and whips her corner to corner for a big clothesline! Beast grabs Faith for a belly2belly! But Beast doesn’t cover, she wants to make Faith suffer. Beast kicks Faith to a corner and grinds in her boot. The ref counts and Beast backs off to argue with him. Beast runs back in but Faith dodges! Things speed up, Faith leaps but Beast catches her! Another powerslam! Beast grins as she drags Faith back up. Faith resists and breaks free, enziguri! Beast stays standing, but gets a spinning roundhouse! Cover, ONE!!

Beast gets mad now, and drags Faith into a powerbomb lift. Beast Bomb! Cover, Beast wins!

Winner: The Beast, by pinfall

The Alpha Female is dominant as ever, but she didn’t expect this from The Lioness. Beast grabs a mic to tell David McLane that he keeps lining them up, and she keeps knocking them down. “Because I’m the biggest. I’m the baddest! I am THE BEAST!” The Beast roars, but how long will she have to wait for a shot at the WOW World Championship?

Introducing: Samantha Smart & The Disciplinarian.

Per her ring name, Kristen Davidson is ready to deal out some discipline to the unruly Women of Wrestling. Ms. Smart heard about a little girl who plays with fire, and that is not smart. Will these two teach young Ms. Keira Hogan a tough lesson? Or will they be the ones who learn not to play with Fire?

Fire VS The Disciplinarian w/ Samantha Smart!

Everyone knows that if you play with fire, you’re bound to get burned. But will Fire burn too hot for these strict school teachers? Or will she be put in detention for expressing herself?

Backstage interview with The Psycho Sisters.

Well, actually, just Razor. She doesn’t want the WOW interviewers messing up Fury’s preparations for her match tonight. The Vanguard of Violence tells the Women of Wrestling to prepare for the storm that’s coming. Razor vows that The Psycho Sisters will have gold soon enough, and “the first rung on the ladder is Chantilly Chella.” The Dancing Queen knows how to party, sure, but it won’t help her against the onslaught. Are you ready for the chaos?

Fury w/ Razor VS Chantilly Chella!

The Psycho Sisters plan to run roughshod over the Women of Wrestling roster, but will the Daughter of Darkness make good on her AXS TV debut? Or will the Dancing Queen be partying it up in LA after a successful return to a WOW ring?

WOW Media interviews Tessa Blanchard.

Can she explain herself about her attack of Keny G? Tessa makes sure we all understand something: she doesn’t care about Santana Garrett, she only cares about the WOW World Championship. The only reason Tessa is even bothering with Santana is because she is WOW World Champion. Maybe Tessa went too far going after Santana’s father, but if she didn’t, Jungle Grrrl would have definitely won and become the new champion. So yeah, Tessa’s the only reason Jungle Grrrl missed out on the title, because Tessa snapped. But Tessa’s glad she snapped and slapped Keny G around. Now she has Santana’s attention, she has David McLane’s attention, and the attention of the entire world!

Santana told Tessa to get in line. Tessa did, but she made her way right to the front of that line, and Santana can’t stop her. Tessa’s coming for the WOW World Championship, but will she take it?

Khloe Hurtz VS Abilene Maverick!

There’s a lot of drama between these two stars of WOW. First came a misunderstanding over limousines. Then came a ice cream based wardrobe malfunction. Then the Governor’s Daughter caught the All Natural with her man, Preston, and threw her into a pool! But Khloe only flirted with Preston to get on Abilene’s nerves. Abilene retaliated with pies, but she added further insult in a special “Ring Rats Match”. If Abilene won, Khloe’s usual horde of hunks would be replaced by handpicked “Texas” Ring Rats. And when Abilene won, she made sure Khloe’s men were some good ol’ boys from around town. Khloe would get her real Rats back, but she still wants revenge! Will she get satisfaction or more frustration?

Abilene and Khloe talk trash the moment they’re both in the ring, and the referee tries to keep the peace. Abilene pushes Khloe, so Khloe shoves Abilene! The ref quickly rings the bell as the two rush each other! Khloe gets around to a waistlock but Abilene resists the toss. Abilene elbows but Khloe keeps hold. Khloe slams Abilene then grinds her face into the mat! Khloe backs off long enough to put Abilene in a headscissors. She slams Abilene into the mat then covers, TWO! Abilene gets Khloe back with a facelock and brings Khloe to the mat. They roll around but Abilene holds on. She wrenches back and drags Khloe up for big knees. Khloe manages to roll Abilene to a cradle! TWO, but Khloe fireman’s carry. She does some squats, then hits the Samoan Drop! Khloe drops the splits leg drop and covers, TWO!

Khloe stalks Abilene to a corner but Abilene throws her into buckles! Abilene drags Khloe up by her hair then runs corner to corner to bump her off buckles. Abilene grinds Khloe into the ropes! The ref counts and Abilene lets up at 4 to bump Khloe again. Abilene rams her shoulder into Khloe, then runs corner to corner for a big knee. Khloe gasps as Abilene mule kicks and rolls Khloe, basement dropkick! Cover, TWO! Abilene keeps her cool while Khloe crawls. Abilene runs in corner to corner again, but into Khloe’s elbow! Khloe hops up and leaps for a big crossbody! Cover, TWO!! Khloe grows frustrated but she keeps on Abilene, only to end up in a victory roll! ONE, and Abilene hurries to bring Khloe back up. Abilene snapmares into a knee smash, then she throws body shots before throwing Khloe right down.

Khloe checks her teeth while Abilene stalks her. Abilene stomps the hand! Then the ankle! Then smashes the knee! Abilene is picking apart the All Natural, then puts her on the ropes for big knees. Abilene yanks her off the ropes and then places her under them, for a springboard knee drop! Khloe sputters onto the apron but Abilene drags her back in. Khloe jawbreakers back, then kicks low. Scissor Kick! Cover, TWO!! Abilene survives and Khloe can’t believe it. Khloe drags Abilene back up for a clubbing forearm. She hops up again but Abilene hits her back. Abilene snapmares Khloe off the top, then covers, TWO! Abilene comes close to a temper tantrum but she keeps her composure. She kicks Khloe around then snapmares her again. Abilene drags Khloe around and smashes the knee again. Abilene turns Khloe over for the Boston Crab!

Khloe endures and her Ring Rats try to help her reach the ropes. But Abilene drags Khloe away! Khloe keeps crawling and the Ring Rats help get that ropebreak! Abilene lets go while the Ring Rats show concern. Abilene drags Khloe away from them, and then whips Khloe to a corner. She runs corner to corner but into Khloe’s boot. Khloe hops up, has Abilene, tornado DDT! Cover, Khloe wins!

Winner: Khloe Hurtz, by pinfall

The All Natural gets the tiebreaker in this increasingly personal feud! Will Khloe keep ahead of the Governor’s Daughter in the race towards the WOW World Championship?

My Thoughts:

This was a good episode, but not as good as the previous ones. It was essentially the mid to upper-mid card getting some spotlight while building the title story through promos. Tessa Blanchard is great in the ring, but her interview promo could’ve been better. It started out alright, but it felt like somewhere in the middle her words got in the way of her message. Also, I was expecting an actual interview in a room, but it seems WOW went the paparazzi route instead. Perhaps that had a part to play in it, with Tessa having to say it all in one take, but it seemed like her lines concerning Jungle Grrrl weren’t quite right. And in connection to that, The Beast is still undefeated, despite young Faith giving her a good match. I’d expect Jungle Grrrl VS Tessa, Beast gets involved to bring about Jungle Grrrl VS Beast.

Fire supposedly had her parents in the crowd, but the cameras never going to them killed the kayfabe for that moment. Fire winning in front of her family should’ve added to the inspirational heartwarming feeling of her victory, but again, the kayfabe wasn’t maintained. I don’t know if WOW will ever create a micard title but Fire could be a contender for such a thing if this push continues. For that matter, the WOW World Tag Team Championships might want to return if The Psycho Sisters are going to be a tag team. Fury and Chella did well, and of course Razor being ringside helps Fury win. Razor wants gold, so she and Fury should insist on the WOW tag titles returning.

Then the main event of Khloe VS Abilene was not main event material to me, even with the story of their grudge being explained. The action just didn’t capture what that grudge was, so it was a rather weak ending to the night. Khloe wins and has the lead in their series, but I suspect these two are far from through with each other. Hopefully they improve in the ring, though, or this will be just too weak a story to be a main event match again.

My Score: 7.9/10

David McLane again welcomes us to WOW!

The matchmaker knows last week’s star-studded Triple Threat for the Women of Wrestling World Championship was wild but also ended in a double pin. Jungle Grrrl hit her splash but Santana Garrett also covered Tessa Blanchard’s legs for an impossible scenario. Senior official Scrappy McGowan came out to ensure the integrity of the title, and chose to postpone awarding it until after the officials could properly review the footage.

And tonight, that long awaited decision is made. McLane holds up the currently vacated title as he first introduces Jungle Grrrl. He would introduce Santana, but the despicable acts Tessa Blanchard did to her father, Keny G, Santana is with her father at the hospital. That is tragic, but the show must go on. So the other competitor for this vacated title will be the Born Legend, Tessa Blanchard! Tessa hits the ring and takes the mic while fans boo and jeer. Tessa says Santana isn’t here not because of her dad. Santana’s not here because she’s afraid! Santana isn’t here because she needs oxygen just like her daddy. But Tessa is fine with that, she’ll take on Jungle Grrrl or any woman in WOW. Even if it’s the biggest and baddest- Speaking of, here comes the biggest and baddest, THE BEAST!

Beast introduces herself to Tessa. And if Tessa wants the biggest and baddest, here she is! McLane and the fans agree. Tessa says the bigger they are, the harder they fall. These two may be big and bad, but Beast and JG aren’t on Tessa’s level! Tessa starts shoving but JG scoops her up! Tessa slips out and shoves JG into Beast! Beast fights with JG while Tessa runs away! Fans are thunderous but officials hurry to pull the Queen of the Amazon and the Alpha Female apart! Will Tessa regret standing between these two Women of Wrestling?

Introducing: Havoc.

The Monster of Madness started her career 15 years ago, during a time when Women’s Wrestling wasn’t taken as seriously. “From the very beginning, people were telling me, ‘You’re not gonna make it very far here’.” They said she was too big, too different, and she struggled for those first few years. Havoc was trying to figure out who she should be, when one day she realized, she only had to be what she wanted to be. Havoc transformed herself and embraced the darkness.

The “Women’s Revolution” only just started a few years ago, with all these “glamorous girls” showing off what they worked so hard for, when it was women like Havoc who put in the work and carried the load. “There is a reason when these women get in the ring with me, they stare at me from across the ring, terrified.” The mask comes off, and she unleashes the monster! Who will be the first Woman of Wrestling to lose to the madness?

Havoc VS Fire!

The Monster of Madness makes her WOW TV debut and it’s against the fan favorite who finally got on a hot streak. Will Havoc put out the flames? Or will she be burned in her debut?

The bell rings and Havoc rushes Fire! Fire dodges and keeps her distance. Havoc laughs as she gives chase, but Fire keeps away. Fire ducks down but Havoc catches her by her hair! Havoc runs in but Fire dodges! Fire comes back with a dropkick! And a corner splash! Fans fire up with Fire as she fires off kicks! Havoc stays up as Fire runs. Fire dodges to dropkick again, but Havoc stays standing. Fire tries a second but Havoc only steps back. Fans fire up as Fire runs, but Havoc boots her right down! Havoc shrieks again as she drags Fire up. Havoc thrashes Fire around and tosses her to the ropes!

Fans continue to cheer Fire on but Havoc is right on her at the ropes. Havoc chokes Fire but then stops at 4. She shouts at the ref to back off, then grins as she stalks Fire to a corner. Havoc puts Fire in a full nelson, then lifts for a stretch! Fire endures while fans rally up. Havoc shifts to a waistlock, wheelbarrow facebuster! Cover, TWO! Fire survives and Havoc is shocked. Havoc stretches Fire back in a modified camel clutch. Fire endures as Havoc gets the full clutch on. Havoc also pulls hair but the ref counts. Havoc clubs Fire down at 4! Fans rain down boos while Havoc looms over Fire. Havoc lifts Fire and snap suplexes hard! Havoc drags Fire to the center and says this is the end. Leg drop misses!

Fire fires back kicks! And a mule kick! Havoc’s down, Fire covers, TWO! Fire climbs up fast, big crossbody! But Havoc catches her easily! Havoc pops Fire up, Air Raid Crash! Cover, Havoc wins!

Winner: Havoc, by pinfall

The Monster of Madness wins her debut and soaks up the heat. Will she only continue to wreak havoc on the WOW roster?

WOW reports on a recent incident with one of their wrestlers.

Keta Rush was jumped in the arena alley after a WOW live event. McLane and Keta went to the production truck to examine the footage to shed light on the assailants. The security cameras caught it all as Keta was jumped 2v1. To think it was someone Keta thought of as a friend. Keta wants after her in the ring, but will she get the payback she wants?

Kristen Davidson w/ Samantha Smart VS Chantilly Chella!

The Disciplinarian and her supervisor want all the other Women of Wrestling to fall in line, and now they look to straighten out WOW’s number one party girl. Will Davidson and Smart have fun ruining Chella’s fun?

The bell rings and Chella gets the fans hyped up. Davidson just sneers as she lunges at Chella. Chella ducks and rolls and has a good time, but it only annoys Davidson and Smart. Chella and Davidson tie up and go around. Davidson pulls Chella’s hair and puts her in a corner. Davidson gets right in Chella’s face about her behavior, but Chella doesn’t get what’s so bad about partying. Chella simply wishes Davidson peace, but Davidson swings on her! Chella dodges and headlocks back. She gets the headlock takeover, but Davidson stands up. Davidson lifts Chella but Chella counters with another takedown! Davidson prevents a cover and manages to get a headscissors! Chella gets out and gets the headlock back!

Davidson gets up again and pries out to a hammerlock. Davidson gets the headlock now then shifts to a snapmare. Chella handsprings through to get the headlock back again! Davidson powers out but Chella hops up for body scissors, only to get a spinebuster! Cover, TWO! Davidson trash talks Chella and clubs her, then hits a running neckbreaker! Cover, TWO! Smart grows annoyed but Davidson stays on Chella at the ropes. Davidson chokes Chella but the ref backs her off. So Smart chokes Chella while he’s not looking! Smart gets away with it and Davidson drags Chella back up. Davidson gourd busters Chella, then drops the double stomps! Cover, TWO! Davidson keeps her cool as she whips Chella. Chella body scissors again, but into a wheelbarrow facebuster! Cover, TWO! Chella still lives and Smart is annoyed.

Davidson clubs Chella to the ropes, and Smart SMACKS her with the ruler! The referee warns Smart while Davidson puts Chella in a corner. Davidson whips corner to corner but Chella goes up and over to sunset flip! TWO, and Davidson hip attacks Chella fast! Then she goes side to side for the wash! Davidson drags Chella to a cover, TWO! Chella can’t believe she didn’t get that. She swings a kick but Davidson ducks! Davidson fireman’s carry, TKO Neckbreaker! Cover, Davidson wins!

Winner: Kristen Davidson by pinfall

The Disciplinarian scratches off one wild child, but with a lot of help from Ms. Smart. Who else will learn not to mess with Davidson and Smart?

Razor speaks.

“Who’s next on the Psycho Sisters’ devastation list?” Oh, it’s the Lioness! “Faithy Jay, you think you’re from the streets?” Razor IS the street! The streets raised Razor. She left everything in the street. You think facing Razor is just facing another wrestler? Razor gets what she wants and never backs down. When you step to her, you’ll feel the Razor’s Edge. That WOW first-time show down is next!

Reintroducing: Faith the Lioness.

Growing up, her parents encouraged Faith to be herself and never change to fit someone else’s ideals. People have said she’s too tall for this or too thick for that, but she defies them to become who she is today. From ballet to rap to kickboxing, Faith has always had pride in who she was. She wants to blend dancing, music and wrestling into one, but her debut was a bit rough against The Beast. But even so, like a lion, she faces everything without fear. Faith was able to accept her defeat because of how great her debut felt. She can’t really put the feeling into words, but she knows she wants more. Losing only makes you stronger, because it’s about getting back up. Will Faith stand strong and get that first win?

Razor w/ Fury VS Faith the Lioness!

The Daughter of Darkness had her WOW TV debut and was successful. Now it’s time to see if the Vanguard of Violence can do the same. Will Razor cut down Faith’s pride? Or will the lioness finally sink her teeth into a victory?

The bell rings and the two approach fast and furious! Faith pushes Razor but she turns it around to put her in the corner. Razor SLAPS Faith, so Faith shoves Razor! She gets another headlock takeover! Razor headscissor counters but Faith pops right out. They speed up again, Faith goes Matrix! She mule kicks and whips but Razor reverses. Fury swipes at Faith’s feet, and then Razor clobbers her! Cover, TWO! Razor grits her teeth as she drags Faith up and clubs her down. Razor stomps Faith to the ropes, then fakes an eyelash in her eye. The ref doesn’t see Fury choke Faith on the ropes!

Fans boo as Fury gets away with it, and Razor goes after Faith in a corner. Razor clubs away then whips corner to corner. Razor runs in for a big splash! She snapmares Faith down hard, then heads to a corner. She runs out, but Faith dodges the senton! Faith Penalty Kicks Razor, then scoop slams her down! Cover, TWO! Razor grinds Faith to the mat but fans rally up. Fury trolls the fans while Faith feeds off their energy. Jawbreaker frees Faith! Razor staggers while Faith runs, but Razor runs her over! Razor doesn’t end it there, she drags Faith up into a camel clutch! Faith endures as Razor grinds her forearms and digs her nails in! Faith gets an arm free, and then the other! Faith roundhouses Razor down!

Fans fire up as Faith climbs up high. But Fury goes after a leg! Faith kicks Fury away then leaps at Razor for a BIG missile dropkick! Cover, Faith wins!!

Winner: Faith the Lioness by pinfall

The fans give a standing ovation for Faith’s first WOW TV victory! But Fury ruins the moment by attacking from behind! The Psycho Sisters beat down Faith, then toss her out of the ring! Fans boo but the damage is done. Will Fury and Razor continue to do what they want to every Woman of Wrestling they encounter?

Coming soon: Nikki Krampus.

As her last name suggests, the Norwegian Nightmare embodies the fearsome might of the punisher of misdeeds. She makes her debut next week, who will be the first to face their retribution?

Vacated WOW World Championship: Jungle Grrrl VS Tessa Blanchard!

The Born Legend loves to talk trash about the Wonder Woman of Wrestling, Santana Garrett, but she should actually be thankful to her. If not for that double pin, Tessa would have lost last week’s Triple Threat and the Queen of the Amazon would again reign. Now there’s a second chance for the third-generation wrestler, will she make the best of this golden opportunity?

Introductions are made, the belt is raised, and the streamers fly! Fans are already fired up with the bell, and Tessa circles with JG. They tie up, Tessa gets a wristlock. JG rolls and rolls to get free but Tessa backs off. Tessa and JG tie up again and Tessa gets a waistlock. JG standing switches but Tessa snapmares through to a chinlock. She whips JG into ropes, then runs, but JG dodges the rope attack just in time! Tessa hits the ropes herself and is stinging! Fans rally up as JG drags Tessa up in a waistlock. Tessa standing switches and pushes JG to forearm her on the rebound. Tessa runs again, and dropkicks JG into the ropes! Cover, ONE!! JG is tougher than Tessa thought, but Tessa keeps her cool.

Tessa stalks JG to a corner to rock her with another right forearm! She whips JG corner to corner, then runs in, but into a boot! JG hops up but Tessa sweeps the legs! Draping code breaker! Winner: Tessa Blanchard, by pinfall; NEW WOW World Champion

The Beast has made her mark! The Born Legend is the new champion, and Jungle Grrrl was pinned for the first time in her WOW career! But of course, The Beast still wants the belt for her own, and Tessa shouts that she’s not afraid. Will Tessa be able to retain when The Beast is the one who helped her win? What will former WOW World Champion, Santana Garrett, have to say about this?

My Thoughts:

What a wild episode of WOW! Havoc, who is of course Jessicka Havok, had a decent delivery of her promo. She gets points for taking up the banner of the independent wrestling women who got the ball rolling for the Women’s (R)Evolution as coined by WWE. But she loses points for me for being yet another of the “inner darkness” kind of Heels I’m seeing in not just WOW but a few other promotions. Be proud of being big and tough, but be different. Especially when the Psycho Sisters are already filling that role of the dark, edgy Heels. Unless she becomes the third sister…

Razor VS Faith was a good match, and Faith is clearly talented. Faith feels like she could get a top Face push down the road the way she was booked against The Beast and then here against Razor. I’m still thinking the WOW World Tag Team Championships are going to be revived and a team like the Psycho Sisters would be a top Heel choice for those. Davidson VS Chella was an okay match, but there are a lot of Heels with Managers right now. I’m wondering if Davidson & Smart will get a dedicated opponent for the story their gimmick tells.

Of all the possibilities for their world title, I didn’t think they’d reset with Santana bowing out. That’s a great Face move putting family over career but it really gave Tessa Blanchard a big second chance. I did call The Beast getting involved, and it worked out perfectly to get some heat on both her and Tessa. Jungle Grrrl VS The Beast is still coming, no doubt about that. That match might be hotter than Santana coming back to get at Tessa. Not only that, but I’m hoping WOW decides to give us an episode where it’s just those two matches so that each one gets 20 to 25 minutes. As fun as it’s been to always have three to four matches a night, having two amazing matches would really help WOW gain some momentum.

My Score: 8.3/10

Andrew’s Impact Wrestling Uncaged Ratings & Review

With the tag titles changing hands last week, do we see more changes with Impact Wrestling Uncaged?

The pseudo-PPV atmosphere is sure to bring in more consistent viewership, but they’re in an interesting spot. Taya and Tessa are really the only two credible Knockouts unless Gail comes out of retirement (since Rosemary, Su and Jordynne are in the same storyline), so we’ll probably see this get extended somehow. As for the other title match, The Machine has a lot of support and wrestling fans all know the money is in the chase. So I could see Cage getting “screwed” again, but I’d much rather see Cage with the title.

So let’s get hype for the show with a video package of the returning Reno Scum!

Ratings:

  • Knockout’s Championship Street Fight: Tessa Blanchard vs Taya Valkyrie (c) – Taya retains via Double Footstomp through Table – *** 3/4
  • ‘All Ego’ Ethan Page vs Willie Mack: Mack  wins via Stunner – ** 1/2
  • Elimination 4v4: Team Impact (Fallah Bahh, Sami Callihan, Eli Drake & Eddie Edwards) vs Team AAA (Puma King, Psycho Clown, Hijo del Vikingo & Aerostar): Team AAA 4-3 – *** 3/4
  • Fatal 4 Way Impact World Championship: Killer Kross vs Moose vs Johnny Impact (c) vs Brian Cage: Johnny retains via Starship Pain on Moose – *** 1/4

Review Notes:

Both women come out with throwback shirts. Tessa comes out with the old school Four Horsemen shirt and Taya comes out in her Perros de Mal shirt (old Triple A stable she was in with Perro Aguayo Jr). This match was a little awkward at times, and the first table they had ” La Wera Loca vs Diamond” painted on, didn’t break after two spear attempts. Really good hardcore style action, with chairs, insults, ring posts and another table. Definitely more of a brawl than wrestling, but after the table didn’t break the subsequent spots seemed to be a little off. Still a solid match, entertaining to watch, good way to start off the Uncaged show. Dios perdona, los perros no.

After a quick promo with Team Impact, Scarlett joins Melissa during the commercial break moment and she’s barely dressed and her and Melissa start doing squats. I mean they’re doubling down on sex sells, and I’m not even mad.

Mack and Page was a solid match. Good brawling, Willie’s agility outlasted Page’s strikes. One would assume the winner should be closer to an X Division title shot at least. So it should be interesting where this leads.

Killer Kross follows that with his typical chilling, slightly unhinged promo, and damn it was well done.

The interesting thing about the commercial break stuff tonight is Melissa doing live interviews with different people. It’s kinda neat, like extra content.

Team Triple A has a clap back promo after the commercial, which says the Cup is staying in Mexico. If memory serves, Team Triple A beat Team TNA in the first World X Cup, so I’m curious if they’ll pull from that for a storyline.

Sami Callihan calls out Swann one more time, Swann throws the shirt at Callihan, so a fight ensues. Swann gets the best of things momentarily, but an eye gauge allows Sami the opening to toss Rich around a little, Piledriver him on the stage and then Powerbomb him off the stage through a table. So I guess Sami will get the X Divison shot, but might have to go through Willie Mack first in the following weeks before Rebellion.

A lot of fun fast paced action, good dives, good strikes, nice story telling and only one slip so far from Aerostar. Eli Drake is the first one eliminated by Puma King because he tries to tell Eddie to not use the kendo stick, but tries to use it himself, Eddie catches him and takes his stick back, then pushing Eli. So one Gedo Clutch later, Eli is eliminated by pinfall. Fallah Bah eliminates Vikingo after a Twisted Running Powerslam. Aerostar eliminates Bahh after a Crucifix Pin when Bahh misses the Banzai Drop. Boston Knee Party from Eddie eliminates Aerostar. Piledriver from Sami eliminates Puma King. Two on one advantage with Sami and Eddie against Psycho Clown. Eddie hits a Boston Knee Party lays out Psycho Clown, but Sami pushes Eddie off and tries to steal the spotlight, only a two count, Psycho Rolls Up Sami for the pinfall elimination. Eddie has Psycho on the ropes, but Eli returns, takes Kenny the Kendo Stick and distracts Eddie. Then he hits Eddie to give Psycho a shot to hit a Backstabber, followed up the La Magistral for the victory. So Impact kinda played themselves, but it was a damn good match with a lot to unpack.

Melissa finally returns after a few commercial breaks off, with Sami Callihan and David Crist. This was ridiculous but great. Just erratic idiocy, they steal Melissa’s sandals at some point, David sings “Hey there Samuel” and Sami does a pitch like a dating service while Melissa is getting her sandals. So dumb, but great.

Small promotional video package for Reno Scum. Returning to Impact for the first time since the first wave of GFW “invasion” (nearly 2 years).

A quick little moment with Dark Allie, Su Yung and Rosemary, followed by a commercial with Melissa and KM & Fallah Bahh. Very funny, Melissa plays off the wrestlers well. She needs to stick around since she’s got a nice personality and seems to work well with most of the guys.

Scarlett with a weird video package, her in a bed, a little moan and showing cleavage is her formula. So if it ain’t broke, I’m not gonna fix it, shut up, stop judging me!

LAX joins Melissa before the main event and the Latina comes out in her. She’s more animated that usual, very fun and entertaining. She even busts their chops a little, but they take it in stride and seem to enjoy each other’s company.

Since the match starts with only about 12 minutes before time limit the match wasn’t going to be a technical masterpiece, but for what it was it was fun. It was more of a brawl, since there were 3 bigger guys. Kross had a bunch of moments looking like a beat, Cage looked like a million bucks hitting the Drill Claw on both Moose and Kross. But Johnny pulled the opportunistic thing, and while Kross and Cage were tied up, Johnny pulls Moose to the corner, barely hits Starship Pain and sneaks in a pinfall before Cage finishes the Drill Claw + pin on Kross.  So Johnny retains while looking like a punk, and the crowd wanted nothing to do with him. Terminator claps most of the match.

Overall Score: 7.5/10

Solid solid show from start to finish. Tessa and Taya got things kicked off well, Melissa doing backstage interviews as the Twitch commercial break stuff was great. World Cup match was fun and set up a few storylines for the Impact stars while Team Triple A got the home field advantage win. Main event was a little disappointing to be honest. Johnny has worn out his fan support both in Mexico and on Twitch chat. Granted yes, I’m hopeful this is building towards a big blow off at Rebellion, maybe with Cage going over and Austin Aries returning, but I guess we’ll have to see.

Also from the main event, we see some cracks in the Moose and Kross alliance, so that could definitely be an interesting match in the near future.

So yeah, we have a lot to chew on moving into TV tapings for the shows leading up to Rebellion, but from a completely playlist mentality view point, Cage got screwed. Brian Cage better be getting this damn title soon, or I want him to put Don Callis through the announce table.

Now the weekly Twitch viewers portion:

  • Week 1: High – 10,350 / Low – 8,500
  • Week 2: High – 8,000 / Low – 6,500
  • Week 3: High – 8,500 / Low – 7,900
  • Week 4: High – 7,100 / Low – 5,300
  • Week 5: High – 7,450 / Low – 5,650
  • Uncaged: High – 9,000/ Low – 8,000

Well it looks like people just need a reason to tune in. Not only was this week mostly main event talent, but since the event had was named, I feel like people just expected better quality. So still no record breaking high, but solid numbers throughout the entire show.
