WWE NXT Adam Cole Undisputed Era

Tiffany’s Takes: WWE NXT (5/8/19)

How does NXT progress this week as we head towards June 1 and Takeover?

After weeks of bickering, will Adam Cole’s war of words with Roderick Strong affect his match with Matt Riddle on this week’s edition of WWE NXT? Tiffany’s Takes digs in!

Mia Yim vs Bianca Belair: I think I’ve been pretty blunt about how I feel about Bianca Belair. I don’t think she’s as good as a lot of people want to believe she is and I’ve also been vocal about how much it sucks that Belair has been given numerous chances to win the WWE NXT Women’s Championship only to fail, while talent like Mia Yim and Candice LeRae are left to sit on the sidelines.

The match between Yim and Belair did nothing to ease my feelings. It was a great match, but the fact that Belair stole the win because she couldn’t beat Yim fair and square only deepened my dislike. To me, she’s proven that she’s the unworthiEST person on in the Women’s roster to get another shot at Baszler. Hopefully, Mr. Regal will fix this next week.

NXT Tag Team Division: Well, if there was any doubt that the Forgotten Son want to get their hands on the tag titles, that got cleared up by them attacking Viking Raiders/War Machine. Viking Raiders will be in action next week, but I have a feeling that they’ll be wanting to do some berserking and pillaging on the Forgotten Sons.

NXT Women’s Championship: Shayna Baszler seemed to think that jumping people from behind and having her own posse would protect her from the Women’s Division and I’m glad to see Shirai and LeRae proving her wrong. It was a little tough for me to see who was hitting who, but Shirai and LeRae have put the champ on notice and that’s a very good thing.

Riddick Moss vs Raul Mendoza: Talk about a blast from the past! Riddick Moss hasn’t been seen in NXT for a couple of years, but he’s back and healthy, but I’m a little confused as to what his gimmick is. He reminds me of the uber-douche lifters at the gym, but that’s me.

The match with Mendoza was really good and ended completely unpredictably. I think everyone was expecting Moss to squash Mendoza like a bug, so Mendoza pulling out the win was a shock to everyone, including Mendoza! I’m not sure what the plan for either man is right now, but it was an interesting match!

Matt Riddle vs Adam Cole: I can’t stand either man in this match, but it was definitely a great one. I was surprised that the match only went 15-ish minutes. Both men showed their immense talents and took each other to the limit. I actually felt that Cole got robbed by Riddle sneaking out the submission win since he’d had the match won.

The most interesting part of the match was the continued crumbling of Undisputed Era. I said last week that I thought Roderick Strong would cost Cole the match, and he did, but not by accident, he even took a nasty kick to the face from Riddle, but that wasn’t good enough for Cole. It’s looking more and more likely that Cole and Strong are going to come to blows sooner than later, but I still find the story intriguing for both sides.

Overall Thoughts: So, how was this week’s WWE NXT? It seemed to be a week of stolen wins. Belair stole a win from Mia Yim and Matt Riddle stole a win from Adam Cole. However, this was a really good show and things are definitely getting set up for the next TakeOver on all fronts.

If I had to guess, I would guess that Viking War Raider Machine is going to drop the titles at TakeOver since they will probably be beating Major Bros for the RAW Tag Team Titles in the near future, or that’s my hope. It’s hard to say what will happen with the other titles, but it’s looking like Shirai and LeRae will be feuding with Baszler and/or her lackeys and Johnny Gargano will probably have a match with someone from Undisputed Era, but that remains to be seen. KUSHIDA will be back next week, so that will probably help shape the Championship question.

That’s it for this week’s Tiffany’s Takes! Be back here on Monday to see if going across the pond helped RAW in any way, shape, or form.
