WWE News: Injury Update On Ruby Riott

Published

on

Last Friday at the WWE RAW Live Event in Rapid City, South Dakota, the leader of The Riott Squad, Ruby Riott, was in action against Dana Brooke, coming up short in a loss (for results go here). Unbeknownst to the WWE Universe, Ruby would suffer a left leg injury at the event, first reported by WWE.com last night (check that out here) and did not make any more appearances through the weekend or last night’s RAW in Sioux Falls (check out Mitchell’s Live Report).

It was noted that Ruby had undergone an MRI yesterday morning, however the extent of the damage or nature of the injury had yet to be revealed. Today, WWE has updated their story by announcing that Riott has suffered an MCL sprain, yet no timetable for recovery has been given.

The MCL is one of the major ligaments that helps to stabilize the knee, however a sprain of the MCL, depending on its grade, is often not as serious of an injury as the more commonly heard ACL injury. Should it be a grade one sprain for Ruby, she’d be looking at a recovery time of approximately 2-6 weeks whereas a grade two sprain could be weeks-to-months depending on the individual. Grade two sprains often also include a tear in the MCL, like the grade three that is nearly a complete tear and takes months of rehab.

IMPACT News: Two Knockouts Now Listed Under Alumni Page

Published

on

Two Knockouts have been listed under the Alumni page on the IMPACT Wrestling website recently.

Former Knockouts Champion Sienna hasn’t been seen on IMPACT TV since the March 22nd episode of IMPACT when she unsuccessfully challenged then Knockouts Champion Allie for the title. The last we have seen of Rebel was on the June 14th epsiode of IMPACT when she lost to Taya Valykire.

Sienna:

Siennna made her IMPACT debut on April 21st, 2016 during the May television tapings. This also happened to be the same day that she signed with the company. Sienna immediately began a feud with Gail Kim and Jade after she attacked Jade. She would then join forces with Maria and Allie. Sienna would then go on to in the IMPACT career of Velet Sky by defeating her in a match with her career on the line. She would then move on a try to capture the Knockouts Championship. Sienna would fail on her first shot but would eventually capture the title at Slammiversary.

Sienna would then lose the title at Turning Point. In January of 2017 IMPACT merged with GFW and it was on the April 21st, 2017 episode that Sienna would defeat the then GFW Women’s Champion Christina Von Eerie. It was later that year at Slammiversary where she would defeat Rosemary and merge both titles. She would then go on to successfully defend the title due to the help of the returning Taryn Terrell. Sienna would then lose the title in a triple threat at Bound For Glory with Gail Kim winning the match and the title. The last we saw of her was on March 22nd of this year when she unsuccessfully challenged Allie for the Knockouts Championship.

Rebel:

Rebel never really seemed to find her footing or get off the ground really in IMPACT Wrestling. She signed with the company back in 2013 after her friend former wrestler/ring announcer Christy Hemme recommend her. Rebel would finally make her debut in May of 2014 when she was apart of The Menagerie. She would then make her in-ring debut on the September 10th episode of IMPACT in a six person mixed tag match with The Menagerie losing to The BroMans and Velvet Sky. She would then participate in a battle royal where she would fracture her arm and wouldn’t be seen until October of that same year where she and The Menagerie would defeat Angelina Love and The BroMans.

It would be sometime in 2015 that IMPACT Wrestling would announce The Menagerie’s departure from the company. In May of 2015 Rebel would return and team with Brooke in a losing effort against The Dollhouse. Later that year Rebel would turn heel and join forces with The Dollhouse. In September of 2016 Rebel would announce her departure from the company again. Rebel would make two more returns, one in 2017 and one just recently this year where she would come up short against Taya Valykire.

WWE Rumors: Chelsea Green Pulls Out Of Upcoming Bookings

Published

on

Last week, the WWE held another massive tryout at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida and as noted, former IMPACT Wrestling star and WWE Tough Enough competitor Chelsea Green took part in the hopes of scoring a developmental deal (for more on that go here). With those tryouts now complete, reportedly talents will not know if they’re being offered a contract until a few weeks later, however there’s rumblings that Green may be seen on WWE television much sooner than that.

Chelsea, who had some upcoming booking for IPW in the United Kingdom on July 22nd, but has since had to pull out due to “unforeseen circumstances which will become clearer in the next couple of weeks”:

Green has also cancelled an appearance for Pro Wrestling Chaos on July 21st. While of course little details were given, this has led many to believe that she may have either already been offered a contract or will be taking part in this year’s WWE Mae Young Classic. With tapings for the Mae Young Classic set for August 8th and 9th at Full Sail University in Orlando, that would line up with the, “will become clearer in the next couple of weeks” comment. Of course, at this time nothing is confirmed.
